This place offers some of the best food in town! Every dish is flavorful and prepared with care, making for a truly satisfying dining experience. Whether you’re in the mood for comfort food or something more adventurous, they always deliver top-notch quality. The service is friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy delicious food that never disappoints!
Best bar with live music in Milton, great food portions at a reasonable price. Excellent patio on Main Street and the owner and staff are truly wonderful and passionate about their work.
The Eighth Note truly has an incredible atmosphere. I’ve been there countless times—whether it’s for lunch, dinner, or various events—and every visit has been fantastic. Recently, I had the pleasure of hosting a fundraiser, and once again, they exceeded all expectations. We had a large crowd that evening, many of whom were visiting The Eighth Note for the first time. Everyone was blown away by the quality of the food and the attentive service. Despite the packed turnout, the team handled everything with such diligence and professionalism! A special shoutout to Jo Anne, Nicole, and Jess—their efforts made the night exceptional. I can't express enough how amazing the team, the food, and the experience truly are.
The food, the vibe, and the staff are all great. We had some challenges with accessibility. We originally thought the restaurant was accessible. You have to walk up a flight of stairs to the bar/dining area and down two flights of stairs to the washrooms (there are also no changing tables if you have a baby with you). However, management was so responsive to our concerns. And I am really impressed with how they handled it. The staff were also lovely and helpful in getting our mobility device down the stairs. I am really impressed with the response we received to our accessibility concerns and because of this care, I would absolutely return when accessibility is not a need for us!
I've been to Eighth Note, the 1st time for my 1st ever drag show. The waitress was attentive, kind and great customer service all around. I ordered a salad and I was impressed by the portion and the fluffiness of the white rice. Trying cosmos here is a must. I came in the other day, to grab take out for the family and I. I didn't wait long, about 10 minutes. I appreciated the soft lighting, the soft surrounding sounds. I ordered the burger and mac and cheese and no complaints from the family. I'm updating my review as I came for oyster and 100% nom nom 🥰
My husband and I came here with our son and his girlfriend last night hungry after a day of apple picking. This restaurant definitely did not disappoint. We ordered the Stuffed Garlic Pull Apart bread and the truffle fries to share to start. The bread is absolutely delicious. Easily one of the best breads I have ever eaten at a restaurant. So amazing. The fries were a very generous serving --crispy, hot, and perfectly seasoned. I ordered one of their specialty items off the menu, the Fried Chicken & Gravy. So absolutely delicious - crispy, juicy chicken, tasty gravy, delicious coleslaw. My *only* recommendation would be to perhaps serve the coleslaw in separate small bowl as I did find the juices from the coleslaw mixed with the gravy. Just a suggestion :) The service was good and even after we had been advised that the food might take a little longer than we might expect because it is made from scratch, I did not find that the wait was excruciating at all. The owner who served us was lovely. Can't wait to go back.
I stopped here after a nice summer drive in my convertible with my puppy Theo. They are very friendly here and both the food and the service are 10/10. Here is a photo of Theo wishing I would give him some of the delicious burger I was eating! Nice try Theo!!
This recently opened location is absolutely fantastic! It offers a charming and intimate ambiance, making it an ideal spot for couples and date nights. The food quality and variety truly impressed me. I visited with a friend, and we indulged in multiple sharing dishes that left us delighted. If you happen to be in the area, I highly recommend giving this place a try for a fun and enjoyable night out. You won't be disappointed!
Get the spicy Nashville chicken Sammie!!! Best chicken sandwich I ve ever had!! Delicious!
Wheelchair accessibility: No Food
This place is fantastic. We had exceptional service, we were seated quickly on a busy night when we didn t have a reservation. The food came quickly and the owner was very friendly and even gave us a complimentary shot after hearing that myself and my fiancé had just gotten engaged. The food was also delicious, we had the tacos and they were great. Would absolutely recommend.
Amaaaaazing place. Great food, but the service is definitely what will bring us back. A must try!!!
Recently attended an event hosted at the Eighth Note. We were a HUGE crowd, but the staff at the Eighth Note handled things brilliantly! The food was great and the staff did everything they could to accommodate all our needs. Great night out!
Eighth Note hosted our minor hockey team fundraiser and the staff were amazing! Food was great and service was even better.
**Update - I have updated my review here to a 4/5 as the owner reached out to me to help with our experience. It is rare that management or owners will take responsibility for the issues that arise but this establishment did. I will reiterate that our food was very enjoyable and our server was excellent. If you have mobility issues, specifically with climbing stairs, this restaurant is not for you. **Original Review - Zero accessibility for anyone with mobility issues. I made a reservation for 3 people never having been here before. On the online reservation it asked if anyone had mobility issues and I checked yes as I use a walker. Upon entry there is a a set of about 10-12 stairs you must go up to get to the seating area. My walker had to be carried up and down the stairs. The bathrooms are down a flight of stairs from the main entrance making them inaccessible as well. I should have been contacted to let me know this restaurant is not accessible since they asked in my reservation. Additionally, there was a private party at 7pm that was taking over the entire restaurant. Again we should have been contacted about this. When we were seated we were told we had to be gone by 7pm. Terrible management of reservations on their part. The food was very good and our server was fantastic. Wheelchair accessibility: THIS RESTAURANT IS NOT ACCESSIBLE IN ANY WAY.
Attended this past Saturday for a fundraising event. Very busy upper floor with lots of attendees. Staff was quick, attentive and positive all night despite the crowded working conditions. Food was excellent and came in a timely manner especially considering the number of people. Look forward to returning for just a family dinner.
Great food!
Cute place with good service. Wasnt too busy for lunch.
Poor service, staff and drinks go elsewhere. One of the drinks we ordered was awful and after taking a sip, returned it, and got something else. The server had charged us for the returned drink when the bill came, and when I pointed it out said well you drank some of it . Eventually she took it off the bill but the whole time throughout our time there had attitude. Won t be returning. There s plenty of other enjoyable places in Milton.
Held a 50th birthday celebration there. It was easy to plan and a perfect night. Great food, great service, and an amazing live band. All had a great time!
Awesome staff, live band experience is amazing, and their food is top-notch for the price. Great place to take your family out for a nice time.
This place is located in a really great spot in downtown Milton. The cauliflower wrap was really good. However, I do think our server forgot we were there because I had to go find them when we wanted to order (after waiting for 30 min) and then we wanted to pay. But overall enjoyed the food and the live music is a nice touch.
SOLID BAR Great selection of drinks great place to end up after a chilly tiring fall stroll that bacon cheeseburger slapped!
I wouldn t go back here. The mac and cheese was nearly burnt and had almost no cheese. The bacon and crotons were also over done. They ran out of fries and only told us 20 min AFTER we had put the order in. One of the servers delivered a cup of steaming hot tea to my kids (which we did not order). My power bowl was good, but that s about it. Overall I found the prices higher than the quality and quantity offered.
Visited here the first time and we brought our dog on the patio. Turns out they had a pups and patios event and we got a coupon for a local pet store and free treat bag, which was so cute and appreciated! Love that they allow dogs on their patio. We had the mac and cheese and the Asian flavoured bowl. Both were very good! We will be back!
It took a very long time for our food to come but the waiter informed us that it was due to there only being one chef and he was quite stressed The food was delicious and wed like to publicly thank him for his services Im sure it was an intense shift !
NOTE: The reviews are only high for this restaurant because they took over the previous page for Pretty Rad, which was the previous restaurant in this location which closed down. Scroll far enough through the reviews and you will see pictures of Pretty Rad and its menu items. The pictures of food you see on this Google page is mostly menu items from Pretty Rad. Disgusting, fraudulent behaviour. Sadly I fell for the trap just skimming through overall review scores and we decided to try this place instead of any of the great options in Milton. Mistake. Food made myself and 2 others feel ill afterwards. Service was not great, waitress came around once at the end of the meal, meanwhile my wife had an empty drink from appetizers through to the cheque. We were one of 3 tables seated at the restaurant so zero excuses for inattentive servers. 4.3 stars is a blatant lie. Don t come here.
We should have stuck to our instincts and walked away when we realized there was hardly anyone in the restaurant at 6:30pm. Their reviews are inflated from the previous restaurant s page, pretty atrocious. We told ourselves, well at least the service will be quick with so few tables, which was not the case and the food was greasy and overseasoned for just about everything we ordered
Sat at the Bar to watch a local band, Merrit-Driven. Really like the bar staff very friendly and recieved my order fast!
Kitchen had issues while we were there which resulted in a long delay and made us late for our concert but the owner gave us a discount and was very apologetic. The food was good a d waitress was lovely. Great vibe too.
Dinner out with work friends, groups of ladies. Started by ordering drinks and nachos. The margaritas were not flavourful and two of the party didn t even finish. The nachos had one tiny little salsa cup, asked for a couple more, which didn t come. One of us flagged him down and asked again - he finally brought one additional little cup, but by then there were only three chips left - so not helpful. At this point, he still hadn t actually taken our meal order. He came back to clear away the appetizer plates and asked so did you want more food? . Um, yeah, we d like to order! We placed our dinner order, and thankfully it didn t take too long to receive. Unfortunately, the food was not great: Mac and cheese, tacos, fish and chips all lacking in flavour and one of the fish meals was raw in the centre. Very unappetizing! The service continued to be inattentive and absent, and when I asked for a refill on the Coke he didn t mention that they didn t have refills and I was charged for two sodas. The restaurant has a musical theme, but it was all kinda cheap and tacky. We have all decided that we will not be coming back. Wheelchair accessibility: There are stairs everywhere- not accessible at all.
Delicious food, fun music, and AMAZING service. I recommend the New Yorker sandwich and the truffle fries. Sam, our server, was so amazing and sweet.
Very friendly staff . For what they have to work with. Over priced drinks and bad food . Been there twice . Management is highly dismissive of important customer related issues . Witnessed an issue and was very disappointed. Buyer beware
Way too expensive. Charged 20 bucks for a single cocktail. Not friendly for students and recent graduates.
First time. Nice place. Great staff. We ordered a food item for the first time. Food was burnt. Owner asked us to contact them and they were kind and provided a resolution which was appreciated.
Bad service..even the basics of plates and napkins missing and coming very late. Unnecessary high and forced tip for bad service .wings are good and the beer. Live music and atmosphere okay.
I came here for a meal with a group of friends and ended up having a truly baffling and uncomfortable experience with the server. The level of service throughout our meal was minimal to none, not to mention the subpar food - even still, we left a reasonable tip for our server. This server then had the audacity to come back to our table after the bills had already been paid and interrogate us as to why we didn t leave more of a tip for her. I have never experienced such entitled service and am truly confused as to what her goal was - to guilt and shame us into then giving her a second, higher tip? Would not recommend this restaurant.
A little noisy on the patio because of the traffic but that s expected. Service was great and the food is good, feels like a higher end version of Louisiana style pub food. Would go back again. Street corn was amazing!
I visited The Eighth Note Local Eatery and Live Music Bar on Friday, June 21st, and had an absolutely fantastic time. The atmosphere was super cozy, making it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy an evening out. The decor was inviting, and the lighting created a warm and comfortable ambiance. The service was fast and efficient. We made a reservation via their website, which was very convenient. Their website also features a calendar with fun events and activities, which makes planning future visits even more exciting. We chose to sit at the bar for convenience since we like to walk around, hang outside, and sing some tunes. It was a band karaoke night, which was a lot of fun. The band knew a bunch of classics, and if there was a song they didnt know, it took them less than five minutes to learn it, and away we went! The live music was energetic, with many different singers taking the stage, each bringing something new and entertaining to the night. The bands inviting nature made the experience even more enjoyable. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and asked for it not to be extremely hot. It was amazing! It still had a bit of a kick but wasnt overwhelming. The chicken was cooked perfectly. I also loved that there were plenty of condiments available at the table, including Tijuana Toms hot sauce, which is my favorite. One of the standout features for me was the extensive mocktail menu. Its very rare to see a bar with such a large selection of mocktails or even a dedicated menu for them! This is fantastic because some of my friends and I dont drink, but we still love having something fun and fruity to sip on. The little couch downstairs was a super cute selfie spot for me and my friends. Anytime my friends ask where we should go for some good food after the street fest or the morning market, I choose The Eighth Note. Its my new favorite spot, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great night out with good food, amazing music, and a welcoming atmosphere.
The food was absolutely delicious and our service was top-notch. Our server Nicole was incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our meal. Will definitely come back again
I recently attended a trivia night at The Eighth Note Local Eatery and Live Music Bar, and it was an absolute blast! Trivia night here is something I look forward to, especially during rainy days, and this experience did not disappoint. The atmosphere was as cozy and inviting as ever, making it the perfect setting for an evening of fun and friendly competition. The trivia itself was awesome, with questions that were relevant to todays trends and topics, keeping everyone engaged and on their toes. The quiz master was fantastic, incredibly inclusive and ensuring that everyone felt welcome and involved. Their lively and personable approach added a lot to the overall enjoyment of the night. As for the food, we had fries and brussels sprouts. Although I didnt try the brussels sprouts, they looked and smelled amazing, which was echoed by my friends who did try them. The fries were delicious, perfectly crispy, and well-seasoned, making for a great snack to enjoy while pondering over trivia questions. Overall, trivia night at The Eighth Note Local Eatery and Live Music Bar is a must-try experience. Between the engaging trivia, the inclusive and friendly quiz master, and the delicious food, its a fantastic way to spend an evening. Whether youre a trivia enthusiast or just looking for something fun to do on a rainy day, I highly recommend checking it out!
On Saturday morning, July 6th, after visiting the farmers market on Main St in Milton at 11:40 AM, we decided to have a meal at this establishment. Before going, we checked both the website and Google, which indicated the location opens at 11:30 AM. Upon arrival, we asked a friendly staff member organizing the patio if we could bring our baby stroller inside. She kindly told us to go in, and she would help with the stroller. However, once we reached the entrance, another staff member informed us that they do not open until 12 PM and denied us entry. If this establishment only opens at 12 PM. on Saturdays, please update the website and align your staff with the correct hours. If the opening time is indeed 11:30 AM, please educate your staff on proper customer service. We have been regulars at this location formally known as Pretty Rad for many years, and this disappointing experience has left us unwilling to return.
Great food and our server Izzy was amazing
Drove all the way from the United States for the most disgusting tacos I have ever had lol we tried this place because they have 4.3 stars so they must be good, right? They were advertised as crispy and the description led me to believe it was going to be this spicy sweet crunchy taco. However, it was sopping wet and cold, literally I picked it up and stream of cold maple syrup (??!!!) poured out and got everywhere?? It was so grossly sweet and soggy it was basically inedible, but I was really hungry so I persevered through one of the three textual nightmares. To add insult to injury I left out of there with a $70 bill lol. The poutine was the only good item we got here. I have no idea how they have a 4.3/5 on here?? Also they came with dry shredded carrot on top? Do the owners not know what a taco is....? Finally, I just want to add that they were NOT busy at all, we were the only table, so there truly is no excuse for this quality of food.
Lovely staff and food. Must stop by if you can.
Didn t look clean inside we had to leave
Amazing live music and great service!! The vibe of this place is simply fantastic. Food : 4/5
Lynsey was amazing so understanding and so nice! She made my first time at the eighth note stellar! Definitely coming back, for the great service and friendly atmosphere! Thanks again Lynsey
I just wanted to take a minute and express how amazing the service was yesterday! Our server, Jessica was incredible, we had our two dogs with us on top of it being quite busy and she did not miss a beat very attentive and personable. The food was great but we will come back just for the service alone!
Food quality was decent but not equivalent to pricing. Way over priced, additional charges for substitutions are outrages and are a money grab. $5.50 extra for 5 onion rings? Staff clearly trained to upsell everything. Although buns are from local bakery, they were stale. If you are going to charge Gastro pub prices, you have to deliver.
I m so happy to see the Eighth Note celebrate its one year anniversary!!!Not only is this the best spot in Milton for live music and dancing, but the team is incredibly friendly and the service is top-notch. We absolutely love the tacos, the various bowls and the poutine is to die for!! The chef uses fresh cut fries, which make the difference & the portions are huge. Highly highly recommend this wonderful venue. Here s to many more years of fun, dancing great food, and great service! Milton needed this!
Good food and great service!
Nice place with a good vibe and they have great food.
Had a casual lunch on the patio after the farmers market. The wrap was great. Overall its a nice spot in downtown Milton.
Driving through Milton wanted to try something new and exciting for lunch so I googled Miltons Best Restaurants and this came up. Glad it did. The waitress told us the menu has a southern US flare. So we tried the steak sandwich and fried catfish and WOW absolutely delicious!! Next time were in Milton we know where to eat!! Great job Eighth Note!!
For the first time we visited this place..very friendly and welcoming waiters greeted us. We had some minor issue with the food but the incredible manager fixed it quickly and we were happy to enjoy our food. Thank you for concern and caring for your customers.
I celebrated my 50th birthday at the Eighth Note and had the time of my life! Service was amazing. Food and drinks were fabulous and best of all, the live band sang all of my favourite songs as they knew it was my birthday. The owner Joanne, who is a talented musician herself, got up and sang a song dedicated to me for my birthday. I felt like a queen all night! If you re looking for a spot to celebrate & dance the night away, you won t be disappointed! The perfect spot for a birthday celebration. They accommodated me and my group of 20 people beautifully. Highly recommend!
Had a wonderful lunch with a friend here . Service was awesome ! Food was excellent ! We shared sweet potato fries and a pastrami sandwich and . of course a couple of beers ! Parking: Busy times ..good luck . you may have to walk but who doesnt need exercise ?
My recent takeout order from The Eighth Note left much to be desired, especially when it came to their fries. Upon opening the container, I was disappointed to find an embarrassingly small portion of truffle fries. It felt more like a snack-sized serving than a proper side dish. Sadly, The Eighth Note failed to deliver.
Trivia nights are so fun, great food at a fair price, great service. Only complaint was the price of the espresso martini.
Incredibly underwhelmed by the menu. Pollo burger and fries both came out burnt. Server was very apologetic and comped the meal. Truffle sauce, drinks and the fish tacos were okay.
It s really a very bad experience in this restaurant My son he did a reservation for brunch Sunday Mother s Day at 12:30pm today to surprise me on Mother s Day I was so happy to try first time this restaurant which I always want to go We arrived at the time the server came to us our table it s almost attached to other peoples it s ok not a big deal but right away she told my son we are out of brunch menu food is finished just lunch menu and she waked a way no sorry nothing she left my son in shock he say to me within 2 hr food is finished he went to her she say oh sorry just lunch he felt he disappointed me because it s Mother s Day so I feel it s shame on restaurant the food or menu finish the first 2 hr or this is a new people they come for brunch and then oh surprise there is no brunch hahaha just lunch so people they say oh ok what we do and the way the server left us is disrespectful and rude So that s my first and last time I visit this restaurant and I am not going to recommended to anybody
Went for mothers day brunch Service was poor waited over an hour no childrens menu had no milk to serve for kids and myself had to use the little cups for coffee to get milk for granddaughter Food came cold husband is diabetic couldnt eat the food on menu said farmers sausages not farmer sausages sausages were hard over cooked My pancakes was cold husband ordered sunnyside iup eggs eggs were over cooked So if you go to this restaurant bring your own milk and make sure that diabetic person ate before coming here. Had to go to different restaurant to eat Manager came over appologized i told her that it was unacceptable for mot having milk the waitress should have told the manager this way the manager can solve the problem the manager said that we didnt have to pay. For this meal setting
Always have a great time here! Staff are super friendly and welcoming! They do a great job of delivering different entertainment experiences throughout the month! New menu is delicious! Special thanks to our servers Jess & Nicole for making my birthday dinner a special night!
We were very excited to finally try this place for Mothers day brunch. Food was good and server was friendly but other than that had a terrible experience. We reserved for 12:30 which was the earliest we could get in and website said brunch was until 2. Were informed after ordering drinks that they ran out of food and no brunch items were available any more. Ordered something else from the regular menu and was informed they were out of that too. Food took forever to come and after the server took the plates we waited 20 minutes for her to come back as she was behind the bar. By then we had been sitting for over 2 hours. No one asked if we wanted coffee or tea or dessert (on Mothers day!) and she finally came over with the machine to pay the bill so we just paid and left. I think this place has great potential but with all the delays and literally running out of food it would have been nice to be offered a complimentary drink or dessert or discount or something. Disappointing first experience but hopefully can actually come back for brunch at some point.
Overall okay experience. They have great outdoor seating option, as I opted for patio. It was super easy to make a reservation online. I wasnt pleased by the paper menu, it kept flying away in the wind. I got the Pollo burger and I thought it was okay. The chicken was slightly dry but oily. The burger tasted good and so did the fries. The quantities were great - 3.5/5 My friend got a bowl and she really liked it, I dont remember the name but most popular bowl. They didnt realize they forgot to include the sauce until she was halfway through her meal - 4/5 Overall a okay experience, I would come back to try the other items they offer.
The food was great... great selection and great tasting. Garlic bread was a must buy. Service was incredibly slow... like a two hour lunch slow.
My friends and I came in and Lexi was our server. We got chicken burgers and pulled pork tacos. The food was delicious and our service was great.
Fun bar and restaurant in Milton. Great atmosphere for either dinner with friends, family or a date. The food is really good and they constantly have fun activities happening.
We have been to the 8th Note on several occasions to listen to live music, most recently this past weekend, the owners of the 8th Note work really hard booking truly talented bands and musicians. They create a fabulous atmosphere and are taking the music scene in Milton to the next level. I look forward to checking out many more talented bands in the future
Parking: Live music Food
We ordered baked mac and cheese and mexican cauliflower wrap. Mac and cheese was good not the best. The cauliflower wrap was not as expected. The cauliflower was basically raw and pieces were added. It was not baked and was hard to eat. Wrap was a bit cold when it arrived but burnt on the outside. I was really excited to try this place but it did not meet my expectations in terms of the taste as it did not have much flavor.. we also ordered drinks lavender lemonade which was great and virgin Cesar which was good but very spicy. Prices are fine. Update: Owner had refunded for the item that did not meet the expectations. So updated reviews
Delicious food. Terrible service!!
As a newcomer to Milton, I was excited to try 8th Note Eatery as I heard so much about it in various Facebook groups. This quaint place was decorated with eclectic music memorabilia and is located off of Main street in the heart of downtown Milton. Although the restaurant wasnt too busy during Saturday lunch, Ive read that the place is hopping when theres live music playing. The server was friendly and quick to place our order but it did take quite some time for the plates of food to be prepared and served. I tried the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries (more on that later) and the presentation was definitely Instagram-worthy because of the double stacked chicken pieces. The sandwich was good but otherwise not really noteworthy. The chicken pieces were big and had a nice crunch them but they were on the drier side as opposed to being succulent or juicy. The chickrn was more oily than spicy. Side rant: Especially having visited Nashville to try the real deal, its disappointing when restaurants (not just this one) claim to serve Nashville HOT, but theres little to no spice in order to cater to the general public instead of heat aficionados. As such, the sandwich fell flat for me. If the heat level was increased by several octaves, it would do a better job of staying true to its namesake. The coleslaw in the sandwich was tasty, crunchy and had good acidity. However, the Wildflour bun was dry and kept falling apart after every bite. The sweet potato fries were tasty, well salted and had just the right crisp. Although I knew thered be an upcharge for this, I didnt expect an outrageous upcharge of $5.50 for sweet potato fries. Due to this being a signicant amount (25% of the cost of the $22 entree), I think the upcharge amount needed to be mentioned specifically by my server. Given that the entree already included regular fries, Im still bewildered that there was such a significant upcharge for replacing regular fries with sweet potatoes fries. Would I go back to 8th Note if a group of friends were heading over? Sure, but it would have to be during a live music evening. The Nashville Hot sandwich was average (perhaps another sandwich would have been better) hence the 3 star review. With average food at upscale prices, it wasnt worth it for me...unless youre being entertained during a live music night.
The miso eggplant with rice was very salty and the rice was underdone. The chicken burger was good but a bit greasy and salty as well.
My wife and I went to have dinner about 2 weeks ago. We would always take note of the place when we came to get boba tea which is right across from this but we always knew it as Pretty Rad. Weve eaten from several different places in Milton and have a few favorites and are looking to add to those favorites. Unfortunately, this will not be added to that list. Firstly, the drink I ordered was a Long Island iced tea. Im not sure which recipe is followed but it was not very well made in my opinion. I ended up getting a Guinness instead. Secondly, it seemed as though they were a bit short staffed on this night. It was a Thursday, so maybe there was an expectation that things would be slow but there was a pretty good crowd there and maybe this was not planned for.. It felt like it took a while waiter to serve us but since the place waso busy, we excused this a bit. Third, the food was just okay. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries which were slightly burnt and my wife ordered a burger with fries; most of her fries were salty and basically inedible. Lastly, there was a performer on their stage and while Im all down for live performance, this guy was not very good. On top of that, the amp was up very loud and we could barely hear each other speak, eventually my wife couldnt take it anymore and told me that she wanted to leave. We wanted to like this place as it is closer to home for us but unfortunately this is not it for us. Hopefully it gets better with time. Update: February 22, 2024 - I have updated my review by one star after Jo Anne the owner reached out to me. We had a great dialogue and we will be giving her place another try. I will update my review once more once we do, thanks again Jo.
What a great spot. The food was fantastic and drinks were delicious. Cant wait to go back! Food : 5/5
My boyfriend and I just tried this establishment for the first time, and unfortunately, we were sadly underwhelmed with the food. We originally wanted the southern platter, but pulled pork wasn t available, so we chose different. He ordered the steak sandwich which was really good, and a side caesar which is what I ended up eating. I ordered the tacos, but pulled pork wasn t available and I didn t want deep fried, so swapped the fried chicken for grilled. The tacos were under seasoned, the (assuming previously frozen) vegetables were flavourless and watery, and just overall not good. I had one, my boyfriend had one, and we left the third untouched. (We are taco LOVERS, and would never leave an untouched taco).
The noon special was huge and delicious
Good service on trivia night
our server was super nice, and most of the food was delicious (not a fan of the cauliflower bites). only complaint is that some bits of the tacos were a little chewy and it was a cold
Unfortunately my husband and I had one of the most disappointing experiences we ve ever had, on Valentine s Day nonetheless and are not likely to return. Which is incredibly unfortunate as we love to support local but cannot justify returning for the price tag and experience we received. - We had a reservation for a 530 seating and were very excited to support local and celebrate Valentines Day together, especially given how wonderful the menu sounded - We were seated, received our drinks and placed our order all within a timely manner; things were off to a great start - We received our appetizers, a caesar salad and the soup--both were wonderful! - During our appetizer, we both headed to the washroom to wash our hands, and upon returning to the table, our mains were already there; our table was actually so overfilled that the server struggled to find space to fit the plates - At this point, we rushed through the appetizer (not even finishing) to shift attention to the main course, which after approx. 3 mins of sitting on the table was stone cold - We were also surprised to see that despite the menu & social media posts promoting crispy potatoes with the mains, that we had received mashed potatoes; more unfortunate was that the mashed potatoes were stone cold, wet and reminiscent of instant mashed potatoes - When our server came by to see how things were going, we were honest and shared that my meal was already quite cold; she offered for the kitchen to remake the meal but rather than that ordeal (recognizing the foot traffic had picked up quite a bit) I just said that having it heated up to a hot temperature would be great - Approx. 2 minutes later she returned with my meal, still very cold; when asked how it was I informed her it was still quite cold and at this point I really would just prefer a takeout box so that I could take it home myself and heat it up to an actual hot temperature - We then continued our drinks and waited for dessert--chantilly cream with mint and chocolate covered strawberries per the menu - When we each received a plate, consisting of two chocolate covered strawberries, swimming in a sea of cream, reminiscent of canned whipped cream with chocolate sauce haphazardly splashed on top, we were quite surprised, but also quite frankly, we were done and asked for our bill as we really just wanted the night and disappointments to be over
I dont like the dinner menu but breakfast was okay. I find all the dinner stuff as bbq sauce on every item..not a fan
The food, the drinks, the service and the atmosphere at The Eighth Note are all fantastic! Great addition to the Milton community.
The eighth note is themed around music and I m here for it. Went last night and found a clean, bright venue with a live duo entertaining everyone. Our server, Avalon was quick, friendly and attentive. We had the chicken tacos and wings. If there was one area for improvement it would be in the food. They were entirely average, and didn t have much flavour. Nothing wrong with- but nothing special. The owner at one point joined the performers and has an exceptional singing voice. We will be back to see future lineups and try some of the other dishes. Overall a nice spot in the heart of downtown Milton.
How awesome to chat with staff who clearly love their job, and are happy to be doing it. The food was OUTSTANDING!!! Comfort food, with a twist. HIGHLY recommend Parking: limited spots behind to park, but Milton mainstreet is awesome to walk down. So, take a stroll! Wheelchair accessibility: Unfortunately the restaurant (inside) doesnt appear to be wheelchair accessible, there is, however, a nice patio outside.
Didn t get a chance to even try the food. There were only two other tables of customers when we got there and the waitress never served us. Then a group of her friends arrived and she went directly to their table and took all their orders. We left in frustration.
Food was delicious. Nice ambiance with the musician playing in the background. Great atmosphere.
Delicious food - charred brussel sprouts, cheesy corn dip, chicken club and chicken sandwich; owner and server were very friendly and quick; great serving size.... thank you for a great lunch experience!
Great service, very good portions. Nice atmosphere. Will come back with friends another time. Live music Thursdays apparently. Nice cushy chairs, clean bathroom! Walk the food off around the street after.
Really good food and service. Great band as well. Fun place
Keep on Rockin the free world Happy St. Patricks Day Food
Great restaurant, highly recommend! Cool, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. The food here is amazing with great portions. My husband wont stop talking about the burger! Well definitely be going back to try out some more of their unique menu.
Extensive and interesting menu. Good selection of wine by the glass. Parking: Lots of free parking in Milton lots behind the main st. Just a few minutes walk to the restaurant. Food : 4/5 |
Pretty good vibe with live music and great food
The restaurant has a nice vibe and has some great events. However not too impressed with the food here. We ordered the shrimp and grits and it was really not good. My friend ordered the fish and it was way overcooked. Also it took over an hour to get our food. I understand they had an event that day but that was really slow service and poor quality of good. Overall not too impressed.
Always a great time at The Eighth Note! The owner and staff are top notch, the food is fantastic and the service is excellent! They have ton of great events and live music. I highly recommend you check the place out and support local.
Such a great place in the quaint downtown of Milton - not your ordinary menu and something to satisfy ALL tastebuds! I had a hard time choosing (so much variety) but I thoroughly enjoyed the Chicken Club - what an amazing combination of flavours! They were super attentive, great portions and the service was commendable. The owner, JoAnne, was making sure we had everything we needed, greeted us as we arrived and I couldn t have felt more looked after. I will definitely be going back to enjoy some other dishes that were served today, both presentation and aroma are more than enough to get me back there!! Thank you for a great experience!!
Came in travelling from Pearson Airport to Waterloo based on the reviews. All the positive things were true! A wonderful pit stop, we ll be back again, and the owner and staff are lovely!
First time visiting. Had beetroot salad. Added steak. It was fantastic! Ordered a lasagna soup to go.
What a beautiful little spot tucked off the beat and track Main Street in Milton! Staff are absolutely incredible, had the pleasure of being served by Lexie, hosted by an awesome manager Bridget and made the experience!! So friendly and welcoming! Will definitely be coming back here! Food is amazing, price is on point. Atmosphere 5 star. Highly recommend! Music on point!!!
The food was great. I really enjoyed. When I got my bill and realized I had to pay 14 dollars for a creme brule dessert, I wasnt happy. This dessert consisted of 6 teaspoons in small dish. Basically $2.50 per spoonful. This makes me not want to come back as I feel ripped off.
A good place for music, from local solo acts to various area bands. Busy entertainment calendar monthly. Interesting and very tasty selection of meals and appetizers on the menu. Eclectic plus classic drinks menu. Reservations advised because space is limited. Great place for a fun evening out with friends or a date.
Great food, service, and atmosphere.
Amazing staff and food. The band was insanely loud, who new that a T-Swift cover of love story could make your ears bleed. Somehow this band accomplished it. Fyi the Nashville hot chicken is incredible. Five stars for the staff and food. The band, ugh, they would have been amazing two levels lower, never have I been in this size a room with the sound levels that high. Felt bad for the staff having to work through this. Lee s Palace is not this loud.
Great food and vibes..well be back
I had the stuffed chicken which was good but maybe a little salty, might have been the sauce that was on it? Our server was lovely and attentive. I did use the washroom before leaving which is in the basement. Clean enough but the aroma downstairs was pretty off putting.
Disappointed with our party we hosted there. We agreed to a minimum spend, and in the end, it was way under. However, after speaking to our party goers - bills were drastically off what they ordered. Be diligent when you host there. We were charged way too much, and it was disappointing.
The only things better than the atmosphere of this please is the food and service. Great staff , incredible vibe! Love what you have done with this place!
Was overall pretty ok. I ordered the Cajun shrimp . The Cajun spice was too overpowering . I sent it back and got a chicken Club sandwich , which was pretty good. My son got the fish tacos, which was also not too great. Generally, atmosphere was nice. The band performing we liked. They had people Come up and sing karaoke. Would have loved to have a hearty meal but unfortunately the experience was lacking .
Pesto pasta was delicious, staff were attentive and friendly
The food was surprisingly good. We would definitely come back as our goto restaurant. Our only complaint and its annoying, the music is too loud. We cannot hear each other talk. We come to enjoy our company and the food not to hear music. Play it softly in the background. We were warned about the music now we know.
We were a party of 4 and OMG..I wish I took pictures the food was nicely prepared. My husband had the Los Tres Tacos (fish) because he is the Taco king. Let me tell you, I think he more INHALED them more then ATE them (yes, I do feed him!) I had the Pollo Sammy and I ve had chicken sandwiches before, but THIS, THIS caused an out of body experience! Soft, yet crunchy, tender and flavorful O.M.G! Our table mates had Pretty Pepito which was DELICIOUS and La Bonita Burger which was eaten quickly also. The only disappointment was that someone thought it would be a great idea to play the music at ROCK CONCERT volume, which made it impossible to completely enjoy the atmosphere as we went for a NICE meal, not a ear shattering experience.
I hosted a big birthday there with the whole placed filled with family and friends. The team at Pretty Rad executed the event flawlessly. The menu is amazing with a special nod to the tacos, sliders, cauliflower bites and chicken wings. The staff are attentive to detail and very friendly. They made the event extra special and would happily recommend to those dining downtown Milton. 10/10 Vegetarian options: Cauliflower bites and salads
Party of 5 - we tried the carne asada tacos (nice heat, pickled onions make this taco), fish tacos (hint of sweetness, nice crispy fish), pollo sammy (nice heat, crispy, good amount of avocado), skirt steak sandwich (very tender and juicy), and chorizo toast (the only fail - soggy, oily, lacked flavour). The fries were also really nice and thick! Parking: Parking can be difficult depending on when you go because it is a shared lot with several other businesses. When we left, someone had double parked behind us with their four ways on and gone into the bubble tea place for over 15 mins.
Great little place. Food was very good and the service was great.
The atmosphere was fun and friendly. The food was incredible and the service was good too.
Fantastic food. 10/10. Amazing!!! The service was attentive and gracious. You could tell the server really wanted us to enjoy our service and experience. It s about half an hour away from where I live but I would happily go back as soon as possible!!!
Amazing place! The food was so well seasoned I ve rarely eaten at a place where the beef is so tasty Their burger is really good, the fries tasted fresh and seemed genuinely homemade I appreciated the service, very nice and not overly hovering over you Would absolutely recommend the place, and I personally will be coming back during summer, maybe bring more friends next time Personal recommendation: Carne Chaufa I m impressed
Food is great. Service has also been great everything Ive gone. Ill continue going back.
The plate has to many fries and the patty of the burger was to small. My friend chaufa plate had just a very tiny portion of meat and a lot of quinoa
I have visited this place a few times and it s been hit or miss with the menu items; there s been a few times where what I ve wanted isn t available or sold out which can be disappointing when you re craving something specific. However, the crispy chicken sandwich is tasty and at such a large portion pretty filling!
Food and service were fantastic but one star off because I ended my night with a headache due to the restaurant somehow beginning to blast their music towards the end of our time there and it was still too loud (maybe even turned up again) after we asked them to tone it down.
Had the prettiest and tastiest lavender lemonade. Highly recommend. (:
Great spot, decor, staff, food. Music was a touch too loud but overall we had a great dinner and get together. There was 12 in our party so talking was a must!!! I would return for sure.
I been there three times, twice for a girls night with my bff, and today with my two girls and husband. The food was amazing, the waitresses and hostess was friendly. Nicole was ou waitress and she had someone else with her serving the food and she was amazing as well. Highly recommend going here, food is just amazing. Kid-friendliness: I ordered a drink and it came with a candy, they were happy to give her a candy when I asked. They acknowledged her and accommodated her by asking if she needed ketchup or a straw. Little things but impacts alot.
Thank you Joanne, the staff and the Dad Bodz for a great night!
Excellent service- had the sandwich specials with fries and house wine. Nice raised patio in the back, too bad the view is a parking lot.
Ive been here 3 times now, and i must say i love the variety of food they offer. I love having multiple options to choose from , the beef empanadas and the corn ribs are my favourite things on the menu. They are a new restaurant so of-course they will be going through trail and error but they are definitely going to thrive just based off the food.
First time there and my honest review is that they should have just closed down. Terrible service along with terrible food = most expensive dinner for nothing. FYI, when your blasting AC and leaving your door open condensation will occur on your ventilation. When a customer tells you water is dripping on them you should offer to move them not wait for us to complain and demand. Also, don t sit other customers at that same table. Ridiculous. Where was management sleeping? I have tried to email the owner and always comes back mail delivery failed. Go figure. Wrong email?
The first visit was absolutely flawless, with incredible food, service, and location (patio). EDIT: The second visit was just completely shockingly terrible. Unrecognizable with a daycare like feeling as there were children running and jumping around screaming uncontrollably with zero correction or discipline from parents and no warning from staff. Unfortunately, the noise at uncomfortable levels wasnt the only thing that was bothersome. Our waitress appeared to be the or one of the bartenders, making her service to my group of four non-existent. Approximately 40 minutes to receive an app, no cutlery, no napkins until alerted. The short rib empanadas were great! This restored my faith and helped us exercise patience a little longer, only to get the chips and dip, which wasnt good at all. Perhaps a classic nachos app would work best. Meals werent served the way it was the last time I visited. $9 Truffle fries, only for them to taste and look like regular fries with no salt. Red chimichurri with my steak was tasty, though I wish it wasnt a mission to get a refill on my water. With endless options in Milton and the surrounding area, I dont see myself coming back, a let down, as I recommended this restaurant to friends many times after my first visit.
I only tried the fish tacos and steak tacos but they were amazing! Fish was my fave
Visiting from Miami and a friend Kelly Kazemi recommended this place. Right away we were welcomed by the owner and treated with quick and friendly service. I had the best martini I ve had in a long time (made by Linsey)! Food tasted great and would highly recommend to anyone wanted some great flavor and exceptional service!
The food was extremely good. We had just apps and some drinks, but everything tasted amazing
Great vibes at this place and the food too is very good
Jam-packed on a Thursday night which was fun! Definitely recommend
Pretty decent food. Service sub par though. Took more than 40 min to get our salad bowl. Dont think Id be coming back here again. UPDATE: After my review was posted, the manager (Jo Anne) demonstrated exceptional responsiveness by promptly reaching out to gather feedback and initiate a refund process. This truly reflects the managements commitment to handling constructive feedback effectively. Kudos to Jo Anne and the entire team for their proactive approach and dedication to customer satisfaction.
It was a hot Sunday afternoon, we asked for a table inside, but they dont have AC inside, so we sat outside by the patio. I asked for the Shrimp & Cheesy Grits but they didnt have that available, so I ordered the Orleans Shrimp, I asked the server to serve that with a garlic bread, when the dish came in after so much wait, I was so surprised, there was no garnish on top as it was suppose to come with a spring onion & Parsley topping and the portion size was way too small, they served with a 1/4 portion of baguette infact the kids size chicken fingers were much bigger than that. Talking about the taste, I liked the sauce they served with shrimp. The chicken was average. I want to thank Jo, the owner at Pretty Rad, for stepping in and making things right after i posted my review, she has taken the feedback constructively and offered a refund and a better experience on my next visit . I appreciate her sportsmanship spirit.
Quaint spot. Very kind server. Not sure if it was unique to what I ordered, although the Buffalo wings almost tasted like flour. I don t think I would come back to this location again, although I was told that the fish tacos were great by the people who had come with me. Overall hit or miss!
The food tastes not good and not fresh! I will not repeat my experience of having lunch there! This is one of the worst restaurants food I went to
Stopped by for the first time for a Krombacher on taco Tuesday afternoon with the dog and baby stroller. Great tacos! Only the weather was a problem but everyone was very friendly and accommodating- we ll be back! Great to find a nice relaxed dog friendly patio in downtown Milton. My dog keeps making me go back! Kid-friendliness: Plenty of room for strollers on patio in the afternoon
The food here is unique and delicious, everything seems made fresh including their own sauces and recipes! If you are looking for amazing food and service at a reasonable price then I highly recommend Pretty Rad for a great night. They also have live music - what a great vibe here. The Caesar salad is the best Ive ever had and they make their own dressing in house.
This is hands down the best breakfast I have had in town! The stacked breakfast sandwich and chicken & waffles were both delicious.
Service was great. Rice was mushy, like potatoes, nachos had jalapeño poppers on them, previously frozen with no flavour and batterred. . Wait staff was good, host staff not as great as server.
Patio is nice and smack downtown Milton. Their vegan chocolate cake is pretty decent though could be more moist. Happy to see vegan options though. Spicy margarita was okay in flavour but didn t taste super fresh and I would ve liked the addition of the spicy red salt on the rim.
We were invited back by the owner, who also gave us a gift card. She was lovely, and met us at the table, we chatted a bit and tried their burgers. Food tasted amazing, as well as the beers we had with it. Thanks for your attention, well definitely be back. ------ We went on a friday around 1pm. It was busy for sure, we got a patio table. By 1:30 most of the customers had already left, so there was maybe 4-5 tables and two servers. Our server was nice but service was extremely slow. We left at 2:30pm and all we had was 3 beers and fries. It took the 1:30 to serve us just these 3 items. Fries were soggy, beer was good. We left and got takeout at a nearby restaurant, that had it done in 5 mins.
Limited veg options, over priced average food
I just wanted to give a shout out to Pretty Rad and share our experience on Friday night. This was my first time back under the new ownership. My friends and I had reservations last night to sit out on the patio, but being as it was too cold, we asked to be seated inside. We were greeted by two very kind hostesses who went above and beyond to accommodate us. All the tables were full, and we had no problem waiting, but they went out of their way suggesting to even bring in a table from outside to accommodate us. We told them we didn t mind waiting which is what we did and it all worked out but we were so thankful for their efforts. Also, a big thank you to our server, Samantha, who was so friendly and so helpful. She went out of her way to ensure that one of my friends dietary restrictions were accommodated, as well as always checking in on us. She noticed I didn t like the drink that I ordered, but was too embarrassed to say anything and immediately took care of that for me, which I did not expect. I have never had such excellent service as I did last night. The food was amazing!!. Thank you so much and great job ladies!!!
Staff refused to deal with the two screaming toddlers, and their completely oblivious mothers. Wed ordered drinks at a table inside as the screaming toddlers were outside, but then they came inside. It was, like another reviewer described, like a daycare. After 20 minutes we left and we werent the only ones who were leaving. We will not return.
Ive been to Pretty Rad a few times for lunch or dinner. Service is always incredible, atmosphere is lovely inside or out and food is consistently good.
Visited here with a group of colleagues for drinks and dinner The appetizers were good - pull apart bread, cauliflower, Brussels and chip n dip The drinks were good I had an espresso martini and a on the rocks margarita. The food presentation was nice but the taste/flavour is what was missing Everyone said they food tasted bland / except the tacos they seems to be good. I had the half chicken- no flavour at all. The bowls with the spicy chicken wasn t tasty or spicy at all. Overall nice place for drinks and apps
Great food, drinks and service.great atmosphere!
I feel awful saying this but since the change in management, this place has been awful. I went twice in the last two weeks to give it a fair shot. The wait staff, though nice, was very inattentive and unaware of the menu. As an example, they didnt know what the kids meals came with and suggested theyd charge for a drink and even cheese on the cheese burger. I asked for a simple drink with no syrup or sugar since Im diabetic, they seemingly didnt note that for the bar staff. Finally, the chicken was so drastically overcooked that it was sandy -- so dry. I was frustrated but I gave it a second try and it was the EXACT same experience.
First time checking this place out and it was just lovely! Got the ceviche, truffle fries, fish tacos, rad bowl, carne chaufa and a kids red pasta. Everything was pretty tasty but the ceviche and chaufa were especially so! The ceviche has a good amount of fish (with some decent sized chunks) and flavour was so bright and delightful - plus eating coloured chips is always fun! The chaufa also stood out with so much complexity in the flavour, and the perfect amount of spice - plus, our favourite part: the sweety drop peppers! My husband and I absolutely love these peppers and get so excited every time we come across them! I know theyre hard to source so we rarely find them used in places, but whenever we see them, we get so happy . The vibe is great there and service was excellent. Lindsey, our server, was super friendly and attentive. And when our food was taking longer than usual, she let us know one of their ovens in the kitchen had broken down so she offered us another app on the house to tide us over cuz she knew the kids had to eat. We got the garlic pull apart bread (so good!) and also offered us 20% off the rest of our meal. We had an opportunity to chat with her and found out they recently changed ownership and the restaurant has been doing really well since. Plus I hear the live music has been a real hit! We dont know what it was like before, but whatever the new owner is doing now, keep it up! I expect it will only get busier as they find their groove and figure out all the details! Kid-friendliness: Kid meals, high chairs available Wheelchair accessibility: Not very accessible, except for the patio. But inside there are TONS of steps (to get up to the dining area, to go down to washrooms). Didnt see any handicapped washroom on the main level.. If you have trouble with stairs, would not recommend
Overall good experience. Too noisy. Chef rang the bell 2-3 times to pickup our food. My wife first thought may be we have to pick ourselves. Recommend Corn Ribs. Only seats available at bar. Rest all was reserved.
Found hair in our food
The restaurant name is catchy. Too bad the food.....at least what we ate....wasnt much good. 2 stars because I got a $5 pint before 6pm at the car show. Chicken wings are lame and undercooked. Gave the waitress a $5 tip for understanding the disappointment and giving us a small credit. Salty, coloured taco chips with watery Chipotle sauce and aioli was underwhelming. We ate less than 1/2 of them despite being hungry. I suspect this place is into making money by pricing up cheap food. Maybe the manager should taste some of it.
We enjoyed our meal here at Pretty Rad and the drinks were funky! We were sad that the wings on the wall had been painted over though. That was the whole reason we chose this restaurant to begin with.
Had lunch here today for a friends Birthday. 6 ladies, we throughly enjoyed our food. 3 of us had ceasar salad with chicken, chicken club, rojo remolacha salad and I had the corn ribs, which were absolutely delicious!!! and the truffle fries were sooo good. I can honestly say the corn ribs were one of the best foods I have ever tasted!!! A big thank you to Jo Anne and her staff for a great lunch. A big shout out to our server Lynsey the sweetest lady!! We will definitely be back!!! Brenda
Was there for lunch with a group of friends and the service was abysmal. The food was ok . The fish tacos had so much spicy sauce on them. The girl serving us was absent for long periods especially when we we re waiting for change.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Lynsey is amazing I love getting to sit at the bar and enjoy her company! :) Will defs be back
Big portions, definitely get your moneys worth. Had live music and patio which was perfect for the great weather
Date of visit: Sunday July 16th A nice restaurant in the heart of Milton s downtown. They have a lovely little streetside patio to enjoy your meal on a nice day. We ordered Fried Chicken sandwich, roasted chicken dinner, and a protein bowl. The food was well presented and served hot. The Fried Chicken sandwich was nice. The portugese roasted chicken came with a chimichurri sauce that was amazing. The protein bowl was a bit lacking. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentative. They had a live music band on the patio just a couple of guys. The location is very convenient, easy to access, the building is very nice. Parking out back -although not a lot but there is a plaza right beside with ample parking.
The WORST dining experience we have had in Milton. It is important to mention we have dined here many times previously BUT WHEN IT WAS UNDER PREVIOUS MANAGEMENT. We went to Pretty Rad on a Friday. We knew it would be busy and were prepared to be flexible. Upon arriving we were quickly told there was no space for us. After waiting for another server to check we were told we could dine if it was quick, before the next reservation group arrived. We anticipated this and happily obliged. We had a solid hour and 45 minutes until the reservation, plenty of time. Or so we thought. We were seated with menues and selected drinks, appetizers, mains and dessert so we could order it all and be in our way quickly... although we were already feeling rushed it was a full 18 minutes before our server arrived. To be considerate we ordered everything at once and mentioned it can all come out as it is ready so we could get out of there quickly. Drinks took another 10 minutes to arrive (brought by a different server) but we werent bothered because they were delicious (one of the only upsides of the evening and why this restaurant gets 1 star). Shortly after our appetizers arrived and they were just okay (also brought by another server). We had been at the restaurant for almost an hour now and knew we needed to keep up the pace to make it out on time for our engagement and to make space for the reservation after us. This is where the night took an awful turn. Keep in mind we had only spoken to our server once at this point. We were never checked on at all. Plates and drinks were removed from our table from our appetizers. We then sat for a FULL 55 MINUTES doing nothing. We found another server and asked what was going on and they said they would check. It was another 15 minutes before our server even ventures over to our table again to ask if we wanted more drinks. We were shocked and puzzled that in an empty restaurant she never asked how we were doing. We are now well into the reservation time (and having done our part, we were waiting for our food and desserts). After we told the server we didnt want any more drinks she left without an update on our food. We then asked another server about just getting our check because we were in the reserved space and they said they would check. Another 15 minutes later our server arrives at the table and I say we need our check we are late. She leaves to get it and comes back 10 minutes later with a bill for all of order INCLUDING ALL OF THE FOOD WE NEVER GOT. I insisted I wasnt paying for that. She then took another 20 minutes trying to remove those items. It never happened. The manager came over and tried herself but even MANAGEMENT DOESNT KNOW HOW TO USE THEIR OWN POS SYSTEM. The manager apologized and gave us our appetizers and drinks for free but we were still STARVING. As we got up to leave, angry, hungry and disappointed, the server who we had spoken to no more than 3 times stood there waiting for a tip... on a free bill, for service we never got. This place is the absolute pits. Avoid it at all costs. Servers to management are clueless, have beyond awful service, are rude and should not be running a restaurant. Please continue to support Rad Bros, but avoid this place like the plague. While I cant guarantee you will have an awful experience like we did, I can tell you, you will be disappointed. When spending your hard earned money go somewhere where they know how to run a restaurant not this place.
Last time, anyone who thinks a first choice for a tip should be 1/5 of the bill is arrogant as hell!!!
Just tried this place for the first time and it was amazing! We shared the garlic pull-apart bread, a Caesar salad and the bacon cheeseburger. It was all to die for and faired well even as takeout. Next time well dine in as it has a warm and inviting dining room!
I started coming after this location was taken over by NEW MANAGEMENT and was blown away. The servers are exceptionally friendly and the food is AMAZING. You can tell the chefs really care about the food they are creating. We now come for food at least once a week. This place has great music and always something new going on. Tonight they had a potato bacon corn chowder that was amazing. We pared it with the brussel sprouts and everything was so so so good. They also have some really interesting drink selections. When I had questions, the staff was so excited to tell us about them and how they were made! I am always blown away by the food and hospitality when we dine here. Every time we try something new and have yet to be disappointed. Great job everyone!
There aren t enough great things to say about this spot! For the last several months, I have been going here every chance I get! The food and drinks are always amazing and the most challenging thing is choosing out of all the yummy options. The espresso martinis are incredible (the salted caramel one is a step above!). I love that this place has been transformed into a fun hotspot with something happening every day! The owner has put so much of her heart and soul into successfully making this a place for community through amazing local music and having the best staff in town. It is clear that the staff there care about the place where they work and they care about the customers. I always leave smiling and happier than when I arrived! It is soon to be the Eighth Note and I can t wait for all the great times ahead! Thanks for making this the best place in town!!!
I can t say enough about this place absolutely amazing experience. The band was terrific and open mic for any request..such a great atmosphere and the owner is over the Top !! And the food was Great!!! I highly recommend this bar if you are looking for a great night out! Thank you to you all!!!
This place is amazing. The food was absolutely fantastic. The portions are enough to feed you for a couple days and the flavour profile is out of this world. Had such an amazing time there and I would highly recommend for everyone to check this place out. I will be back soon because, this is definitely a place where you want to try all the food on the menu.
Absolutely loved our evening! The staff were fabulous the GM was working just as hard as the staff. Hand down amazing! Blair rocked!
My wife and I have been going to Eighth Note (Formerly Pretty Rad) since we moved to Milton about 3 years ago. We primarily got takeout, especially during the pandemic but we occasionally dined in with just the two of us and with our families in the past. Pretty Rad was our go-to spot to dine out. If I was writing this review 2 years ago, I would have given 5 stars for the food without question. The food was amazing, the portions were good and prices were also nothing to complain about. Unfortunately we have found all of these to have changed. We find most of our disappointment to be in the quality of the food and the portion sizes when getting takeout. Recently we have found some of the ingredients have been swapped and the takeout containers have also gotten smaller. Weve never had any issues regarding the service or the general atmosphere of the place, this is mostly a review on the food and a comparison to how its changed over the years.
Manager personally came over to greet us, asked how we liked the drinks and got me another kind simply because I didnt like the one I selected. Totally not their fault and didnt need to do this, I work in customer service and this was top notch! Cute atmosphere and the gentleman singing and playing guitar was great. The garlic bread was amazing!!
Great service, great food. Nothing to complain about. Love supporting local Milton businesses like these. P.S.: Try the Skor Cheesecake. So good. Vegetarian options: great selection of vegetarian and vegan items.
Phenomenal customer service and communication.
I cannot say enough about Miltons new dining gem. If you havent tried it...it is a must. But not only because of the food (huge, high quality portions) but because of the great atmosphere and service. The staff are friendly and happy, they have different themes every single day and their live music every weekend is such a welcoming touch to downtown Milton again. The patio is in the perfect location especially when there is something happening on Main Street.
An enjoyable atmosphere and the food was very good. There is a nice patio for the summer months. Service was excellent.
First time having lunch at the eighth note eatery will be back for sure . On top of all the other stuff they treat veterans really well.
The owner is extremely kind and let me host a paint night for a charity event. The staff was friendly too, I had Sam and Avalon take care of the event attendees. The food is always amazing and the pictures of the soups they keep posting make me want to have soup on those cold days. Best restaurant in Milton with fun vibes!
Great place to spend some time!
First time here and enjoyed the experience :) I went for brunch and ordered the eggs benny and loved it! the breakfast potatoes are amazing. My friend ordered the pumpkin spice french toast and she loved it! I had a little taste too and was impressed. Service was quick and friendly. I recommend!
Worst experience ever . Food was tasteless and the sauces were horrible. We returned our plates intact and full. The waitress did not even bother herself to ask us about the quality of the food . We ended up paying in full for 5 plates and non of them was edible . Pretty Rad was a good restaurant but this one is not. They could not even make proper poutine , Burger or French fries , The oil used tasted like burned and used for a month . Will never go back again . Waste of money. We attended for a work dinner. They secured us a premium table for our reservation, food was delicious, and the owner went above and beyond to accommodate our group s requests. Our group highly recommend the corn dip, charred Brussels sprouts, caprese salad, and Nashville chicken sandwich!
Great food and fantastic cocktail selection!
Great Atmosphere. Warm, comfortable, not too quiet, not too loud. Great service, Melissa knew exactly when we needed something and when to ask. Nicole was an excellent hostess. Great Martinis.... highly recommend.
Great place. Nice atmosphere on the heart of downtown Milton!
Nice atmosphere. Very good customer service. Seafood tacos were good. Stakes were ok. Little chewy in some places. French fries very delicious.
