Such a wonderful experience! The setting is magical. Feasting in nature surrounded by apple and pear trees was delightful. Service staff was eager, friendly and polite. The meal was simply delicious. The menu was well crafted and highlighted seasonal local produce. Kudos to the front and kitchen staff!
Great food, super friendly staff, and a great overall experience. If you try only one cabane à sucre/sugar shack this should be it. *Plan to bring take out co tainers as unfortunately they do not provide them and you will not want to waste any of that delicious food. Very generous portions here. Lots of dishes have pork so if you don't eat pork make sure to let them know in advance. You can book this as a corporate group and it's a great team building activity especially if you have international staff. They will for sure enjoy the experience.
The menu is fresh and delicious, and a generous amount for two. We added the burrata and it was really too much food (our dog was happy to help). The orchard is a good size and the designated picnic spots are spaced apart so you don't feel too close to your neighbors. On top of all that, everyone is super friendly. What a lovely escape from the city!
Everything was fantastic! Great food and good service. Well worth the 1.5 hour trip from Ottawa for it. Will say that the food is pretty rich, so be sure to plan on not moving too much after your meal.
An experience to try at least once in your life. No getting around it... This place is EXPENSIVE. For the amount and quality of food they give you however, it is 100% worth it. The chalet is quaint and rustic, the food is all locally sourced. The experience of sitting down and eating, undistracted, is worth the money alone. You will leave feeling full in your tummy and light in spirit. Not good for kids, make it an adult trip.
This is a great place, I highly recommend it. I recommend arriving early to get a cocktail and sit out on the patio to commune with nature. The dinning room is intimate and you feel like you're amount family. The wait staff is superb. Francois was a great waiter and the Cabane is luck to have him amoung others. The food was very fresh and sourced from what be is seasonally avaliable. The menu changes frequently but there wasn't a dish that went wrong. Save room for desert, like their sister restaurants it is well worth it.
Had high hopes, but they were dashed even before we got in. It was a rainy day and a bunch of cars got stuck in the mud, including mine. Ended up parking on the side of the road and we all had to wade through the mud. A bunch of drunk people were blocking the entrance to the resto so we had to wait outside in the rain. Once inside the staff seemed pretty organized at getting people to their seats. We were the last round of the night and service was completely inconsistent. The tables are long tables that sit 4 on each side with bench seating. Unfortunately we were 5 so ended as 9 at the table so it was a tight squeeze on one end. Staff was friendly at the outset, but once they realised that only 2 people were drinking at our table, they seemed less and less enthusiastic thereafter. Often they would take away the dishes before we had finished and seemed irritated when we told them that we weren't done. The food itself was underwhelming. The soup with a meatball was a great start and the food was good for the most part, though one of the porc dishes was badly overcooked. There are a lot of particular items on the menu and it's menu fixe, so no altérations or substitutions, so if you have picky eaters, as we did at our table, they might go home hungry. Otherwise there is just enough to be satisfied without being too full, at least for me. You are never overloaded with one taste. The consensus was that the desert, overall, was the best part of the meal (and probably the closest to 'traditional' cabane food. If you are looking for a traditional Cabane à sucre, this is not for you. If you are looking for something a bit different or a unique experience, this might be for you. Overall I'm happy that I tried it, but I would not go back.
The best fresh local ingredients prepared expertly. Make sure to come hungry as there were 14 courses. All of the vegetables come from their garden and the fact that it was all cooked on a wood stove gave the entire restaurant a wonderful smokey aroma. Make sure to try the cocktails too. The selection is limited but they are very well made. The only downside was the lack of A/C.
A truly enjoyable gourmet picnic experience last August! Everything in the basket was delicious! However, I invite you not to forget your chairs and small tables or something to sit on a damp floor, because all that is installed are logs, not very comfortable to sit on and place the plates on ;-) And mosquito repellent... Because they really bite!!
Unfortunately my wife and I went Sunday at 1:00 p.m. for the picnic and were so disappointed with the contents of the meal overall and it was stale and definitely not up to our expectations. (on the other hand, a beautiful presentation card of the menu with the dishes and a beautiful wicker basket that is given at departure was offered) Dogs are allowed everywhere on the site, which leaves unpleasant odors . Very disappointed with this first and last experience at $131 (basket for 2 and 1 apple mousse)

Very good, nothing to complain about at this level, on the other hand the waste ! Cardboard with plastic in it cannot be recycled, you should know that; and then it costs trees and energy to make all these containers which are ultimately only used for 2 hours...
Very pleasant and delicious country picnic.
This is not our first visit, we had already done The Harvests a few years ago and of course the famous sugar shack! The good thing about going there on a Sunday evening is that there is room, we were able to spread out a little more rather than being stuck together, which is all equally pleasant. We of course started with cocktails and mocktails before the medley of dishes followed at a good pace. Unfortunately I dont have the names of all the dishes we tasted, but special mention to the starters, the delicious and tender trout, the soup with pieces of pan-fried foie gras, the burrata and small fresh tomatoes, the pâté Chinese and what about the desserts.. Once again we came out with a full stomach and leftovers to last a few days. The service is impeccable! I came back to photos from before the pandemic, I realize even if the dishes are very good, we dont find the creative madness of the years before, there is missing a je ne sais quoi of Woooow from years gone by. But thats not a reason to ignore the establishment, I would undoubtedly return there during the holidays, the sugar shack, etc. :)
Sunday October 6, we picked up a basket to take home.. at the same time we bought a cider (not refrigerated) to also bring home.. we were sold the bottle of cider restaurant price $30+ tx.. instead of $18. in all honesty, she should have informed us as it was for the house..
Wow, great experience. The orchard is magnificent and the picnic basket is perfect. Each dish was an explosion of flavors. Salmon, corn, sausage, Paris Brest, everything was excellent. We enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely return next season. To do without hesitation. Parking: Parking was rather difficult as there were a lot of people. Around 2 p.m., it s much quieter.
We had a perfect day! And eaten so well! The setting is super beautiful, the experience is worth the trip! Eating as well in a picnic atmosphere surrounded by fruit trees is a real disconnection getaway one hour from Montreal! The basket is super well stocked. The menu is very satisfying and in good quantity. The quality is there with very tasty pairings. And fresh seasonal produce. My only downside is the quantity of packaging even if part of it is cardboard.

Many thanks to Heidy and Tommy and the team for the extraordinary service we received. There were 27 of us this afternoon, we received 5 star service. People were attentive to our needs, our requests etc... we benefited from the log cabin and the atmosphere was perfect. The bride and groom, for their 25th wedding anniversary, were delighted. The portions are generous, the flavors balanced, frankly for a first experience, it was really on target. Definitely we will return and bring friends. Thank you to the whole team who made this day unforgettable
A superb gourmet picnik experience. We took 4 baskets for 7 people and it was more than enough because we had several leftovers. All the dishes were qualitative and very tasty. Lots of variety in the July menu, as well as the possibility for vegetarians to eat their fill. The bottles that you can consume on site are good but a little expensive. The service is pleasant, but perhaps there is a lack of tables and comfort when it comes to the picnik in the apple fields. Small tables to place the baskets perhaps Apart from that it was a very nice experience for a couple or a family!

It was a magical moment! The welcome was warm and relaxed. The portions are generous. We opted for cider rather than bringing our own water or juice. I suggest you bring your cutlery if, like me, you are less fond of cardboard plates and glasses and wooden cutlery. To do again with family or friends. Parking: Its in the woods along the path. Kid-friendliness: It s a picnic!!! However, if they are picky about food, thats up to you.

We drove 3 hours to go have a picnic there. It was simply delicious, fresh and tasty. Our experience was above our expectations. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the place pleasant and clean. The cost seems high but you get what you pay for.
We were welcomed by Vincent who suggested that we calmly go and have a drink in the orchard to come back for the basket later, suggesting the old Burrata having never known the fridge. What a delight! Not knowing which cider to choose because we wanted them all, Vincent decided for us with the Inverness while we were thinking of going with the Touski. The choice of Inverness was perfect for us with its good bitterness for us who drink IPA because we love the bitterness of alcoholic beverages. I would buy this bottle again to enjoy at home. Really, I would have been proud just to know that Vincent was there without even seeing him but here I am more than satisfied to have had his welcome, his advice, his explanations of all the ciders, all the extras... in short this little 5 minutes at the counter won me over even before arriving in the orchard. What an experience to live and relive. Well definitely see each other again this summer and probably with friends. Lately we have discovered the PDC in almost all its forms, the cabin in March, the restaurant in Duluth in mid-June, the picnic in the last days of June and now I have my reservation for the harvest season. The PDC and its variations are at the top of my list and each upcoming event will be added to my check list Really, thank you for all the quality both in the food and in the exceptional service that we have the privilege of receiving.

A beautiful and completely unique place! We were absolutely delighted! The fresh and invigorating atmosphere of the place added a special touch to our family day (3 adults and 2 children). As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by attentive and warm staff. What makes this cabin even more special is its authentic atmosphere and commitment to fresh produce! The burrata... no but... fell out of his chair! If youre looking for a one-of-a-kind culinary getaway in a country setting, this is the perfect place!

Well organized picnic, no waiting despite the crowds, a pleasant and large site, varied and very good food.
Very pleasant experience. The place is perfect. Even though there are a lot of people, it feels like an intimate place. The food is very good and there is plenty for two in a picnic. I highly recommend as an activity for several hours in the early afternoon: take your time to eat and relax. It allows you to relax as there is no maximum time. Bring a placemat to enjoy the picnic to the fullest, otherwise there are logs to sit on. Parking: There isnt that much parking on site, but there is plenty of space within a 5 minute walk and staff will direct you to the lot. Kid-friendliness: Kids can wander around a lot more than a sit-down restaurant.
Did a picnic basket with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was our first time at Cabane dà côté but weve done the Cabane à Sucre PDC multiple times and the standards here are the same: amazing food, amazing service. Got to eat among the apple trees. Beautiful property. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. If these picnic basket happen again next year we will absolutely be returning again!!

Totally idyllic epicurean and bucolic experience! All the dishes were absolutely delicious. Beautiful cohesion, perfect seasonings, fresh and tasty food. It exploded with happiness in the mouth! With my lover, we shared a basket together with my little 3 year old, a little picky, who devoured everything with appetite and pleasure! Children being the worst food critics, we can say that you scored high with mine! Quite honestly, not really much more expensive, for a small family like us, than a restaurant outing like St-Poulet Sec... but, in this case, to live a taste and sensory experience that is simply incomparable! The most charming decor as are the staff, professional and attentive. The vibe is good! Thank you all for your warm welcome, you are a fantastic team! Really happy to have celebrated my birthday there. We promise to come back. 10 stars out of 5!

We had a picnic. The basket was excellent, not terribly expensive for the quality and quantity of food it contained. We brought a blanket to put on the ground and we sat under one of the many parasols planted between the rows of apple trees. The staff was very kind and helpful. The experience wasnt super comfortable but it was very pleasant overall. Note that the baskets are very generous. We were recommended when booking to take two baskets for two adults and two children aged 2 and 5. We wasted almost an entire basket and paid way more than we needed to. For a family of 4 with young children, one basket is sufficient, especially if you add extra dishes when picking up the basket.
It was great, food was great, we had leftovers, loved the orchard it was very cute. Parking: There is a little parking right beside the Cabane, but there is more if you walk a little bit further. Kid-friendliness: Nice for kids, but they might be a little bit picky, the food might not be to their taste.

We went for a picnic at the orchard. The temperature, food and welcome were perfect. The box for two is quite sufficient. Beautiful surprises in each dish! Lots of fresh vegetables and fruits on this evenings menu. The 3 ciders were very good.

I went to do the famous pick nik at the orchard as a couple. It was simply magnificent. The food was beyond my expectations. An explosion of flavors in every bite. And the creme brulee style sugar tart was so good.
Service was slow and disorganized, especially towards the end of the afternoon. No excuse considering the number of people working there. Lacked explanation for the food and what to expect. On the other hand, they were all kind. Food was tasty but a little pricey. Orchard is pretty and rustic. If they work out the problems in service, I will come back. Parking: Had to park up a trail and into the forest but again there was a lack of explanation.
It is a picnic, a fancy orchard picnic, a flavourful, colourful, bubbly picnic. Everything there, like a poem. Not too long ,not too short. Just balance well each bite. Kid-friendliness: Kids garden served nutrient beautiful meal

We went there for the sugar shack menu and we loved it! Great welcome, really friendly team, family atmosphere and really tasty meals. What more could you ask for? We will come back to enjoy the vergé in the summer, that s for sure!

Superb place to spend time with friends in the cool of the orchard. The cider made on site is truly excellent. Unsurprisingly for these well-known chefs, the food is succulent and meets expectations. Congratulations also for the effort to reduce non-recyclable waste (wooden utensils, boxes, baskets, etc.) My only regret is that they did not want to make accommodations for the semi-vegetarians that we are (no meat) despite the fact that they assured us that they could do so in an email the day before...

We took a picnic basket and a bottle of cider: $131. Rather expensive. On the other hand, the dishes were very good. Small criticism on the extremely dry sausage and the bourgeaux dish which was good but soft and very oily, it lacks a support; croutons would have complemented this dish nicely. The portions are small, my girlfriend is not a big eater and we got through everything without any problem. Which is worth one star less, the welcome music that can be heard all the way to the other end of the orchard. Neither us nor the 3 other families lying around lying in the grass wanted to hear the big distant bass. No connection. Also, we are provided with a compostable bag to throw away the containers/cutlery/plate. Half of the containers are compostable and the other half are plastic. But when you leave the orchard, everything goes in the same place in the compostable bag, plastic included. Window dressing. -1 star here too.

Picnic basket experience. The food is good and the place is beautiful. There are a few umbrellas and logs to sit on or use as tables. There are people there but you cant see them between the trees. On the other hand... its easy to serve. So slow! 50min for around 6 groups of people in front of us. Everything is written by hand, nothing is optimized in the exchange of information. This is the black point.
Very beautiful natural setting for a picnic. The orchard and the dining area are well organized. There are a few parking spaces nearby otherwise you have to go to the 2nd parking lot (5 minutes on foot). The basket is very stocked with tasty dishes.

Picnic basket: . THE POSITIVE: Good cuisine, good, well-prepared dishes (except the totally tasteless porchetta). . THE NEGATIVE - RIDICULOUSLY small quantities; we are on the border between pettiness and scam; especially since several dishes end up with 3 pieces of salad... - Not to mention mushrooms (you need a magnifying glass to find them...), (chanterelles/chanterelles... 5 grams maximum... FOR TWO!!!) - Almost all dishes (except dessert) are barely suitable for one person. - Payment by card immediately offers a minimum tip of 15%... 15%?!?!?!?!? without service, without anything in particular. Here again we are on the border between scam and arm twisting . BALANCE SHEET: Da good family cuisine (no more) without any service but with the price of a 3-star restaurant. Total SCAM regarding prices ($87, I remind you...), supposedly for 2 people... . 90% DISAPPOINTMENT . NEVER AGAIN... TO RUN AWAY. . I will even avoid other restaurants of the same chain in the future.
Eating under the marquee of the cabin next door is an extraordinary gastronomic experience that we have from start to finish. The dishes are executed to perfection by a superb team and everything was delicious and what can we say about Rosalies attentive service. I highly recommend it, its worth the price. The 10 guests all enjoyed the experience.

We went there for the picnic. Its a luxury picnic, lets say! They make a very good basket, generous (they say its for two, but, its a lot for two!) and it is possible to go and install it in the orchard. Even though there are a lot of people, the way it is set up, you almost have the impression of being alone. With apple trees, there is shade. Its very nice.
The picnic is worth it. An original way to enjoy their delicious dishes. Its all in the details. Each dish has its own personality and is filled with happiness. You can feel the generosity of the staff there.

Picnic basket concept, great. Beautiful place. Excellent food. Very kind staff. Reasonable prices. What I didnt understand was that we had booked in advance, received a QR code, which was of no use because when we arrived, we didnt take it into account. The majority of people bought on site... Suggestions; a line for those who have reserved in advance, display the menu on a slate (saves the hostess from repeating herself), finally, the same principle for the ciders and wines available. Thank you all for the amazing experience.

We went for summer picnics. It was excellent and the setting is really beautiful. A little bread would have been welcome though
Disappointing! Lets say our experience was mixed. 40 minutes of waiting in full sun to get our basket, no time to see the cider/wine menu to order so we have to decide quickly when arriving at the cash register. The brigade works well and the food is good (but not Wow except the confit salmon). The cold soup was very good, the tomato puff pastry too. On the other hand, the candied tomato and the peach and cheese salad were not of much interest. The salmon was perfect. The ribs were not the most tender and especially the creamy sauce that accompanied them was tangy and did not work with the ribs (but very good on its own). Finally, the Bavarian was light and creamy but too sweet (and tomatoes and other vegetables wouldnt be tried on a dessert). But it s especially the general organization that is a little frustrating. When you pay $100 for a picnic basket, you dont expect to wait in line for 40 minutes in the sun. Afterwards, it s a race to find a free parasol in the orchard. (Bring your own chairs or cover because very few tables are available). And if you buy a bottle of wine or cider, you expect it to come with goblets, not paper cups. Ah yes but tse, you can buy plastic cups come on Then, two toilets on the site, so huge queue again We had already been extremely disappointed by our last dinner at the Pied de Cochon restaurant this winter and lets say that we have the impression that they are stretching the sauce quite a bit... At this price, go to the market near you and buy good local products for a picnic in your favorite park and you will have some quite a bit more bang for your buck.

Very good but average organization on arrival
Very nice experience, to do again and again. Cute setting under the apple trees. I was afraid that we would be too close together given the popularity of the place, but even with quite a few people, there is a way to have a peaceful picnic. We waited around thirty minutes before being able to collect our basket (arrived at noon, basket in hand at half past twelve). The wait was worth it, local and tasty menu, well designed, perfect quantity for two people. The venison apple cider was also very good if you want simple apple flavors

The picnic option at the orchard is superb. Excellent menu. Very nice choice of wines and ciders. We have been there twice, we will return.

What a beautiful and good idea
Very good place to have a pigs trotter style picnic. Very excited to go back there with family and friends. Just lacks the provision of a water source that you can use yourself but thats my opinion

Quelle belle expérience que ce pique-nique dans un verger. Nourriture excellente en quantité largement suffisante pour deux, servie dans un panier où rien ne manquait (il y avait même un sac à compostage). Et que dire du site, apaisant et intime. Nous avons beaucoup aimé, ce qui n est pas rien pour des personnes qui n aiment pas vraiment pique-niquer.

A little disappointed with my visit to the Cabin next door. Nice place, but small portions for a big price. In addition, we did not have the menu planned for July. I dont think Ill repeat the experience.

SEPT 2019 Probably the best place I have ever eaten on 4 continents. All local. Even the Organic Traditional Fizzy method wine. All senses were used. The chef was great
