It's takeout only now and they close a bit early at 6:30 but the food is wonderful.
Called to place and order and the person on the phone said I was not allowed to order unless I knew what I wanted. Not allowed to ask questions. Then she rudely hung up the phone. Will never eat here again.
This Chinese restaurant could definitely use an improvement in customer service, however, if you know your order/combination plate you want there will be no issues. I had poor customer service one time, and good customer service twice thereafter. It’s likely they’re busy and want to keep the ball rolling cause they don’t have much staff working. The prices for this Chinese restaurant are actually cheaper than the other restaurants in the area, without an additional $5 up-cost for beef and broccoli instead of chicken chow mein which is nice they do not charge that like other ones in the area. Overall the quality of the food is good, and it’s never a long wait time. Another plus, the restaurant is consistently open even during holidays. If you’re reading this review, I would give it a shot, the food tastes great. But have a look at the menu prior to ordering for best experience.
We order out from the Great Wok at least once a week. My kids love it. I can't really speak to most of their dishes as we normally only order the combos. A single combo easily feeds both my kids no problem. They like the S&S chicken balls, chicken fried rice and egg roll combo. My wife is also a fan of their Almond Sue Guy. I would give them a 5 star if they had a few more gluten free options. Service is normally very speeding and courteous. All in all, a great place to eat!
Update: I thought I would give it another try.. but this time I was going to be prepared. I was going to look at the online menu and know exactly what I wanted to get . Me: I'd like to place an order please Lady: what you want Me: I'd like 2 dinner for one combo B Lady: We don't have letters , menu in front . I don't take your order . Click. Me: So there is that! The lady who owns or Co owns this place is always just rude. This was not the first time.. It will definitely be the last though. I called to place a take out order and said to her.. I am not sure if it is Dinner C or D but it is the one that has everything in it.. She said look when you figure out what you want to order call back I am very busy. Who in the frig even says that. I called the Welcome Back and the service was next to steller! Side note : another time I went in for a take out order the restaurant was full of people.. I along with a few other people were waiting and the lady came out of the back screaming at the top of her lungs not in English...she didn't skip a beat as she threw herself onto the floor and when I say threw herself ..boy did she ever . You could have heard a pin drop in that place ..A waitress came with a glass of water for her .. she took a sip .. got up and walked back into the kitchen like it never happened ... I couldn't even make that up if I wanted to .

The food was God awful for almost 70 dollars. For 2 combo plates, I will never eat there again.
As a person who works in retail, I fully understand the stress of having to work every day during this time. There are a lot of things outside of our control. But one thing that is within our control is how we treat our customers. Recently I called the Great Wok to place an order for my mothers 70th birthday supper. I was spoken to rudely and dismissively, and then the person hung up abruptly. I didnt deserve to be treated this way, nor does anyone! We wont ever patronize the Great Wok again. The staff at Cunard restaurant, even when they are intensely busy, take the time to speak to customers in a friendly way and with respect. We will be solely ordering from them from now on.
The rudest service ive ever encountered .i called to place a take out order and was hung up on because i didnt have a menu in front of me she wouldnt take my order.i called back again with the menu open online and she hung up on me again screaming at me i didnt have a menu and wouldnt even listen to me that i had the menu in front of me.i will never go there again shes been rude anytime i order but this was unreal. We will get our chinese elsewhere from now on .
Always a great experience eating at the great wok, Good service an good food, Been eating here for the last 7+ years and never once had a bad tasting meal, Definitely recommend.

Almond su guy will rock your world. great rice and egg rolls, but know what you want before you call, lady on the phone dont like you askin what combo is what...she GROUCHY.

Stopped in before closing to here from I assume the owner to say were closed and another customer waiting in the restaurant says I think theyre open until seven oclock the time was 6:40 so she took my order and next think you know I get something that isnt what I wanted I will not be going back.

Place has really gone down hill imo from what it was...anything with chicken in it was dry/grisley and the lady answering the phone/taking orders isnt exactly a phone person..maybe just a bad nite, but food wasnt up to par by a long shot.
It was terrible overpriced, the chicken balls and lemon chicken so soggy sauce was all over it was gross..the sauce on beef and broccoli was like water and the egg roll was pretty much empty....absolutely gross over all...never going back there!

Thursday supper time was the worst I have ever seen ..no one wearing masks ..none Of the workers. When a woman spoke up and asked the boss why is nobody wearing masks, she rudely said I don t have time to wear a mask so just don t come near me, she said if I didn t want my food I didn t have to take it and just leave. Then then a woman stood up and went to talk to her and mention it to her that she works for a department of safety and told her that is mandatory for her to wear a mask. Or they can receive a fine .so she put on the mask not too happy about it and then she started to huff an puff and a breath hard then breathing out breathing in breathing iout breathing in breathing out breathing in breathing really hard and then she fell off a chair pretend she fainted .. then another lady I knew that was in there waiting for her food rushed over to her to try to help her and then the lady screamed At her ..don t you touch me!!!! So what I thought watching the whole deal was that lady did really not faint at all .fake attention sealing to extremes , .then I had enough and left .I don t know what went on after I left but u will never go back and neither will my family and friends ..never

Go places two orders go find a place to park to eat open every up no forks napkins nothing and we have to drive all the way back to get some.. should never have to ask for forks to each chinese food like really..but there food was good but it would of been nice to eat it hot
I have been going here for years. The waitresses have been there for a long time and are incredibly kind and attentive. The food is also really tasty, not greasy or old tasting. Great location in Douglastown off of King George.
Best low mein ive tried yet. The staff was awesome. Ill be going back for sure.

They have no social media presence so you never know when theyre open. Had some issues with the food here. Sometimes the food is great and sometimes its not, its essentially a gamble going to eat here at this point. It used to be one of my favorite places but since new management took over things seemed to change for the worse sadly. Hoping that they change for the better in the future.
What a weird experience our family had. When entering a foul moldish smell took me by surprise as I looked for a table. - Took 10 minutes for the server to arrive. - A annoying fly joined our table. - Food was bad: overcooked, smelt funky, chicken was ruberry and their rice is uncle bens.... I advised in Miramichi the best chineese food are: -WELCOME BACK restaurant -Cunard in Chatham

Buffet was 8 items. Food was good and fresh. The best time to go is around 5 pm. They are busy. Noticed lot of pick ups.

We went there today for my sons birthday i asked if there was any vegetarian options in the buffet the waitress said no and told be of a few options so i ordered spring rolls and a veggie dish. When i started eating it, it tasted like what spoiled meat smells like so i started mixing up the veggies and noticed all this CHICKEN in my veggies that was mushed up! It has been 4yrs! Since i have become a vegetarian. I called the waitress over and she took it to show the cook. She didnt even come right back to tell me she went to other tables. Not to mention the long wait i had for the food in the first place...anyway when she finally came back she told me they have new cooks all the time and the printers print in chinese? That chicken must have been in the wok when they did my order. ..i was not impressed i still feel sick to my stomach! I told her its a good thing i wasnt allergic to chicken it could of been very dangerous...i will not be going thete again!

This restaurant is one that youd expect to find in a large city like Toronto, New York or Vancouver. The food offered is exceptional and would rival any Chinese Restaurant found in much larger centers. After coming here for the first time, I was hooked. The impeccable service provided by the cheerful and dedicated staff parallels the great tasting food. You can tell how good a Chinese Restaurant is by the crowds it attracts. This restaurant is supported by a large and devoted clientele. Five stars may be the maximum, but I give it 7!

Had the buffet, very good Chinese food, they kept up with stocking it. Restaurant is starting to look rundown, its time for a Reno.
Went for buffet today and arrived at 1:40pm and buffet ends at 2:00pm. The waitress immediately informed us that the owner/cook will probably not replenish the food at this time. Everything looked dry and over cooked but I love their wonton soup. So I told the waitress that I would eat mostly wonton soup and if the cook added this I would take the buffet. She verified and he agreed to. So Im the mean time I nibbled on a few things. When The kitchen sent out wonton soup, there was barely enough to fill one bowl. So I immediately told my server that I would like at least the same amount. She said that the cook probably wont but went to ask and the reply was that he had put enough for 2 people and he wasnt putting more. I am very disappointed as I was forced to fill on gross mushy vegetables, cooled off egg rolls and chicken balls and over dried chicken wings which I really didnt want. All I wanted was the wonton soup.

Dirty floors, food is bleh, dirty glasses, dirty wet and full of hair menues , the decor looks like it hasnt been updated since 72, service sucked, waitresses had no manners , slow getting our food, over crowded , old food laying under the buffet table place is not clean should be shut down
