The O Dons Burger is a solid choice.

Stopped for lunch, was busy when we got there but the crowd was leaving, going back to work. Ordered Nacho and what a disappointment. Not well layered and nacho tasted stale. Service was not great either. Maybe because we were not local. ?? Maybe the rest of the menu is ok but never going back so will never find out.

We came in from out of town looking to have a nice lunch. We were definitely not disappointed. Food was excellent and the atmosphere was authentic. Definitely would go back!

Visited Miramichi with friends and stopped here for lunch. the service and food was amazing with great atmosphere. it was busy but the server easily kept up. my friend had a Guinness and he said it was a great pour.

I just had the chicken ceaser salad with a Guinness. The Guinness was perfectly poured! There were maple bacon bits in the salad which made the meal!

The atmosphere was great I went for a late lunch. The food was good and the waitress was very easy going and helpful.

Small Irish pub in a Heritage home nearly 400 years old. Great food, cold beer, all you could ask for. Edit 200 year old building.

Jamie has fantastic enticing atmosphere here. Great vibe.

We came from Alberta to visit an old friend and his new venture. Not having seen Jamie in over 45 years, it was a pleasure to have a sit down in his pub and reminisce on our military days gone by. We tossed quite a few names around while enjoying craft beer and munchies. We will be back.

Unfortunately their online menus were not recent and the Irish Stew I was looking forward to was no longer an available menu item. My second choice, the seafood chowder, was also unavailable due to the fact that had run out. It took about 75 minutes to have what I did order served. In their defense, there was a huge event going on locally and this place was slammed busy. The quality of the food was good. The portion size for the price was about average. The selection of Irish Whisky for an Irish Pub was minimal to say the the least. Overall, I would visit this place again, when its not so busy.

Bowl of Chowder had one large scallop and a few tiny shrimp and a couple potatoes for 18$ with a rock hard biscuit..the chicken nachos we paid 24$ for had barely any chicken nor cheese. The coconut shrimp appetizer I ordered was the best part.

Food fresh fast friendly service, had seafood chowder with biscuit and fish and chips, the large fish and chips comes with a huge piece of fish.

Wanted to try different pub. We are from out of town visiting Miramichi on occasion. Went to outdoor patio.Waitress very quickly asked about drinks which were brought quickly and menu selection was made.45 minutes later never saw her again.No food or drink. I paid for the one beer I got leaving money on the table and we left.A terrible experience.

We were so excited to enjoy an incredible meal here. My husband had the fish and chips and was not disappointed. I had the Hula Chicken, so disappointed. The pineapple was thicker than the chicken on this. Sad as the taste was great. Sadly we will not return.

Bad choice of food this evening! Had order chicken nachos, worst that Ive ever had hardly no chicken or other fixing and very expensive, just under $30 with no drink or tip.

Had lunch on several times, its perfect, only been to the bar years ago. Im sure from what I hear its still rockin. Its a must try when in town.

Truly a beautiful Irish pub, proper pub food. Proper drink. And that atmosphere was very warm and inviting. Busy staff like a bunch of bumble bees. You need your tummy full as well as your head. This is the place to go. Wonderful sights aswell, the Guinness stew really took the chill of a cold afternoon after the rain. Cheers.

The steak and grill chicken burrger was horrible not sure what happened but my rib eye look like they put it on the grill frozen amd it was tuff for a ribeye was very disappointed

For a Tuesday it was quite busy. We dont eat at restaurants offen. But was great company.

Im a faithful patron at the pub. It never disappoints. Great selection of beer and pub food and always several friendly faces on hand.

Have been here many times, approximately 20. The last two times this July 2023 , I have been disappointed. The signature meal (Fish and chips) ran out on a Thursday afternoon. And today the fish was okay but they ran out of coleslaw and Tarter sauce was watery . Also the Red wine served was ice cold. Server seamed to be trying hard to please but the kitchen was not cooperating. No adjustment to the bill was offered for the missing garnishes. I still tipped the server. It wasnt here Galt.

The beets in the expensive beet and goat cheese salad was pickled out of a jar. Hardly any goat cheese. Portion size wasnt what was expected for $18. Spouses burger was just average he said. Said hes had much better. Sorry, cant recommend.

I spent a wonderful weekend in the Miramichi for the Irish festival with great friends and had the pleasure to dine at ODonaghues Irish Pub. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and visit the pub. It does not disappoint.The food was really good. The seafood chowder was the best Ive ever eaten! The owners were friendly and inviting and the service was exceptional!

The food was very good. However we had to wait an hour for our order, with no explanation. The server apologised, but it spoilt the evening and made us feel not very welcome. This poor service would not happen in a real Irish establishment. Disappointed after reading the reviews, would definitely not recommend.

Best fish & chips Ive had in a long time. They batterin house fresh when you order. The house coleslaw is so refreshing, its not that generic creamy slop you get everywhere else. The homemade tartar is crack sauce. I ordered a regular, which is the smaller of the two options. It was not small!! Only down side is the bathrooms are down a steep set of stairs which is not possible for some people to climb up and down.

First time I have eaten here in a while. Sat outside in the beautiful weather. Food was perfect and the Guinness was cold. Service was a bit slow, just seemed to be busy for one lunch time server. Ill be back.

Its very rare that I give 100/100 to an establishment of this type, but here it deserves it. Well done!

Pub atmosphere, decent service, but the food was dreadful! Apparently, there are new owners, and they obviously dont give a fig about the quality of the food they serve. Beer was fine.

Our waiter was fast and efficient and on top of it. He brought the kids refills on their drinks before they were done. It was a great lunch spot Parking: We were there after lunch rush so parking was easy might not have been an hour before.

Order 2 steak frites meals 1 with baked potato the other with mash potato. Mashed was dry felt like they were yesterdays re heated . Baked potato didn t seem cook through and cold . Spinach dip lacked spinach dip for the amount of chips and naan bread with it bowl was half full . I would not recommend eating here. I sure it s great for drinks . They did end up discounting our meals which is nice but I would rather have a well cooked meal .

The new owners have opened the Pub for breakfast on Saturday and Sunday. Just had the East Coast Eggs Benedict, two eggs Benny over fresh fish cakes AWESOME!!! Lots of Irish beer on tap and Irish food on the menu. I will be returning very soon

My partner and I were visiting family in the Miramichi area and stopped in a few times at ODonahues. The owner Jamie was great..made us feel welcome and interactive with customers. The seafood chowder is the best! A shout out to Troy...what an amazing server. He always had a smile and went over and beyond. A must if you are in the Miramichi

Went for dinner tonight here for the first time. My husband had a burger &fries with gravy, my daughter had chicken strips and fries and myself I had linguine with a Chen breast. Oh and we had nachos as an appetizer. The food was absolutely amazing!!!! The service was fantastic. Over all an awesome place. The only downside is the seating area is very small and cramped.however absolutely will be back.

To all veterans. You must go. It is absolutely wonderful. Food is great and the intertaim is great. From a veteran to an other. You must stop and try it.

We went on a Saturday drive from Moncton about a month ago. It was very busy as there was a bday party upstairs but the service was very good. Their long Island ice tea were great and we shared nachos and chicken wings that were delicious! We will be back!!

Ribs were the worst. 3 orders were returned uneaten the manager gave the people who ordered them 50% off. So i guess he thought they were only half bad. Ridiculous. Never again.

I arrived 90 minutes before closing time on a Tuesday. Waited at the Please wit to be seated sign on the patio outside for 5 minutes or so, but saw no one, so I ventured into the bar. Server said to take any table on the patio and shed be right with me. 35 minutes passed during which time the server cleared two tables and took orders from the folks at the table next to mine who arrived about 20 minutes after me. Not sure what happened. Maybe because I was by myself? I was sober, polite, and freshly showered. So what happened? I left hungry but had a very nice meal plus two local beers at an Indian restaurant a couple of blocks away.

Great service given in French by Martin, wonderful experience. Large portion so be prepared, but excellent!

GONE DOWNHILL AND ITS SAD Used to be a favourite spot of my families when visiting the miramichi. Unfortunately this time not the best experience. We were seated upstairs and it took 10min to get waters, waitress brought our appetizer and didn t give any plates/cutlery. Ordered our food which took 40min to get to us. Steaks were over cooked, fries were great and fish was great. Unfortunately we never got a quality check on food and didn t see a server for the entire rest of the meal. Only after we requested a coffee which was brought, and then she left without clearing any plates or asking if we needed a Togo box (which we had to then carry the plate downstairs and ask for one, no apology given). Very standard things to do as a sever. So overall food was a 3.5/5 but service was 0.5/5.

We took a detour from Five Island from Nova Scotia to Edmundston from New Brunswick specifically to dine at this Pub and IT WAS CLOSED! Frankly, management could have at least changed the schedule on Google internet!!!! What a door of time and essence!

I was shocked when my friends $18 scallop platter was placed infront of her with a handful of fries and 5-6 scallops. The amount of fries on the plate were enough for a small child. More of a snack size than a platter.

We made a reservation here for a small gathering after our sons wedding. The atmosphere here is wonderful. Probably one of the older and more unique buildings in Miramichi . The service was very good, fast and courteous. The food was fantastic, this was not our first here and always has been good. Beer on tap was from 13 Barrels and was good. Worth the stop for sure. Parking: Large free parking lot right across from the pub.

Met up with some old friends; food and service was good, and the Miramichi-brewed IPA was outstanding.

Had not been there for years as if there wasnt a problem with the food it was the service... on August 1st/21 had family in from out of town gathering for the long weekend. Called as soon as they opened on Sunday morning to make a reservation for 6 PM for a group of 15 people for dining INSIDE (which I specified at the time)was told no problem but with such a large group we would have to be seated in the upstairs. Perfect. No problem. Got there at appointed time and was told they had to bump my group to outside dining as they gave my table away to a group of 20 people - without a reservation- who had just showed up. Found my group had been seated outside. Not enough room for me. Finally had to ask to have another table brought over. Filthy dirty table (with ants crawling all over it)was placed down in front of me by same guy who had given away my reservation, who then without even wiping down the table walked away.... I finally had to ask for someone to wash down the table. Our waitress was good. The food was good. Good value for the money however, I will NOT be back. If I would have wanted to share my meal with ants, flies and mosquitoes I would have saved myself the trouble and the money and would have had a pb&j sandwich on my own patio. Actually, there are no ants on my patio.

Great food and service, super friendly place. This was the second time we were in town and had to come back here. This time we had our pups with us and that was not a issue we all enjoyed the food.

Food was good. Unfortunately we found two large blonde hairs baked into the fries but passed it off because it was fries. Staff was friendly with the exception of one standing next to us bragging how he handled a customer that was unhappy about his food and how he put him in his place. Aside from this worker it was a good place to grab a bite to eat. Prices were pretty standard for a pub.

Absolutely awful experience. Would NOT recommend this place at all. Service was appalling. My husbands ginger ale was flat and was replaced by a flat sprite!! The wait for our meal went on and on. After 40minutes we questioned the waitress and she stated it would be a couple of more minutes. In the meantime we watched as a party of four were served starters within 5 minutes of being seated. After another 15 minutes my husband got up to find out what was happening with our food. Again we were told only a couple more minutes!! Seriously?The excuse was given that they use iPads to put the order through and if you are seated at the back of the pub the reception isnt good!! Therefore the order hadnt gone through but no one bothered to explain this until we got up to leave. It wasnt even very busy so no excuse to have to wait this long for food. I would suggest if the iPad was really the problem (i suspect not) then go back to pen and paper!! We left without eating. Worst pub I have been to and I am from a nation where pubs are the heart of every community so have been to many pubs in my time!

I love this place .. my new favorite go to spot.. friendly staff food is incredible and if you have room you have to eat the bread pudding.. if you dont youll regret it..

Wife and I just wanted a light late lunch. Ordered a poutine and savoury lamb turnovers. The food was excellent. The pub is so rich in character, atmosphere, but liveliness was lacking. Maybe it was the time of day, or Covid protocols. I can see ODonaghues being a rippin little pub when Covid is in the rearview mirror..
