Embers BBQ House in Mission

I used to love ordering from Embers, however at their new location the quality has gone way down. Ordered the mini sampler to go, there was no pulled pork or buns in the bag. No napkins or cutlery.

Very cute excellent service food was yummy . Will be back again . Perfect spot for lunch if you are in old mission or the industrial area . Support local

Picked up two Micheal sandwiches for me and my wife, both buns were stale and tasted heavily of mould, so disappointed, first time eating here since move and will probably be the last

Seems like the new location is using the good reputation of the old owner, while making disappointing food. It was really not good. We used to love the old Embers! Tried it tonight and paid for a meals that was barely edible. It s sad to call this place a barbecue house!

Poor Service Went there last Saturday 7pm. Staff said they are closing at 8pm and it takes them 45 - 50 minutes to prepare the food. So they are only giving us 10 minutes to eat our food. If their service is like this they should put their closing time at 7pm and not 8pm.

We loved Embers and ate there for years. 10/10. With the new owners still 8/10. We went to the new location today after a drive and were very disappointed. The food was awful. The pulled pork had been reheated so many times it was dry, no amount of the sauce could save it. The wrap, which is now the only one available is half the size. No cornbread and the potato salad was sour. The wings were old, not off yet but really old chicken. It is really sad. We won t eat there again. When we mentioned the wings being old meat the waitress did take them off the bill. Also the drinks we ordered came in a can. It was not a great experience.

The empty dining room was a foreshadowing of what was to come. Ordered the Grill Sergeant burger to go. Did not look appealing and wasn t worthy of a photo. Was oval shaped, which I though was kind of weird. The patty tasted like something you would get at a cafeteria - nothing home made about it. No slaw or veg on top to balance out the proteins. I m guessing they have changed ownership, because the positive reviews in the past do not match the current product.

Our take out was cold, ribs way overcooked and tough. You couldnt pay me to eat here again. Food : 2/5

I enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich and the wings were pretty tasty, could not eat my salad as it didnt look washed and there was some sort of dead mosquito or fly in it..... other than that I enjoyed my food

Our family UNFORTUNATELY only discovered this restaurant one year ago in 2023. It quickly became a family favorite and we tried to have the PLEASURE of ordering from there once or twice a week for roughly a year. Within the last couple of months that restaurant had to make some hard decisions and one of those decisions included moving/switching locations. Unfortunately we visited them and they were missing a lot of stuff from the menu! No problem we get changes and understand things take time. Take us back to yesterday where our family went to order the exact same thing we have normally ordered for over a year now , The Sampler normally it s around $85 and that is a lot of food for 4 people and even left overs. It s a family favourite. Yesterday while placing my order over the phone the lady mentioned the Sampler had changed, and the price had decreased by $10 ( makes sense you take one thing off the menu there would be a small decrease ) fast forward to when my husband brings the order home and we are terrible disappointed , the young girl over the phone mentioned , they no longer include, the roasted chicken, they no longer make/carry cornbread the cornbread is not included in the sampler it is still one of the reasons why my husband loves this place, she failed to mention that they also removed the braised beef off the sampler menu, and the family SIDES went from large to be being cut in half. I am extremely disappointed with yesterdays experience, the service, the change in menu, and the sizes. We will say that their bbq and chicken wings are unbeatable. I m am disappointed in the new atmosphere and the change of menu, and portions but other than my personal opinion the food is still very good. I am rating Embers BBQ house in mission a 4/10 after the move. BEFORE THE MOVE 10/10

Celebrated my son s birthday with getting take out from Embers. Both burgers were low quality meat, dry, my son said Wendy s burgers are better than what we were given. The BBQ beans were under cooked and the sauce made it more like bean soup it was so liquidy. The fries were good, the only decent part of the meal. Will not be eating there again.

Bad experience. However, management stepped up to do the appropriate damage control. I left with a free dinner and the sense that they cared enough to retain my business. In the end they did enough to earn a second chance. Kudos for an appropriate response to a difficult situation.

Not the same Embers as years previous. No more potato salad, no more cornbread, ran out of wings, and the ribs even aren t comparable. Ok but not great! The pulled pork and coleslaw were good.

Ordered take out last nite. Food portions have gotten smaller and prices have gone up. My pulled pork sandwich tasted off and today I feel sick . Will not be ordering anything from them sence they moved

Not barbecue, oven cooked strange bbq sauce. The wings were decent but the bbq beans? From what I seen from other pictures I didn t get that it was literally a can of cold beans with the water in it.

Today we popped in to grab takeout for my son and then the person we were meeting got stuck behind an accident. We stood out front for about ten minutes when the owner sent a coffee out to keep me warm in the dreary BC weather. Such a kind gesture and so much appreciated!! We will be back for another delicious meal soon!

New location: missing many of their old menu items, food quality nowhere near what it used to be. Used to have house made wraps now it s just two generic tortillas from Costco wrapped around mediocre pulled pork. Fries used to be good and made in house now they seem like generic frozen ones. Used to love the old location and rated it 5/5 new one sadly comes nowhere close on quality of food. Changed my rating from a 5 star to a 2 star solely on the food quality being so inferior to what it used to be. Old location: Best wraps I have ever had! Love their hand made tortilla wraps and the pulled pork is my favourite. Highly recommend!

Ordered a feast from Embers Barbecue House via SkipTheDishes for a special evening with guests, but was deeply disappointed. The fries were overwhelmingly salty, and the ribs were served cold, which made our meal inedible. It was a letdown for what was supposed to be a delightful dinner. I expect a full refund and hope that both Embers and SkipTheDishes address these quality issues to prevent future disappointments.

Moved locations now share with a brunch joint. It s a lil confusing and hard to find now. The food is not the same as it was. I was a lil disappointed as I know what there like at previous location. Unfortunate but still ok bbq

We love Embers! We are regulars and are always happy when Chloe is there. Great attitude and great service. 2024 edit Since they moved the quality is not good. We stopped going for a few years because our orders were always wrong. Just tried again post move. Nothing tastes likes it is bbqd. Our sandwich was squished. My chicken breast was tiny. More like quail breasts. And they no longer season the fries! Theyre boring old fries now. This went from our fav. Place in mission to a place we now avoid. So sad when quality js the first thing to go down.

Not a BBQ place they are telling you a lie BBQ places dont braise their meat they smoke it also didnt take the silver skin off the back of the ribs,had the mini sampler was disgusting ordered mac and cheese and was told it was bad,never seen a BBQ place in my life selling burgers and wraps and mashed potatoes as a side went there on a wed their first day of the week and it was empty only to be told its usually like this when i thought to myself if you were selling BBQ and not braised meat which i might add is basically cooked in liquid you would be busy. I dont recommend this place to anyone

We celebrated a birthday party and the service was excellent everyone left happy and full. The sampler was amazing lots of food and I mean a ton! The ribs were tender and juicy and the bbq chicken was very good. We ordered wings, bbq chicken, ribs, pulled pork, beef burgers and chicken burgers. Thank you Embers for a great birthday

Changing my review from 4 stars to one. Are you guys nuts? $20 for a wrap, in Mission, in this area? Perhaps new management or building owners raising rent, not sure; but wont be back. This isnt downtown Vancouver so price accordingly!

My husband and I have ordered numerous times on skip from Embers. This evening we actually took the time to go and actually dine in as we are new to Mission we wanted to check out the restaurant we are ordering from. Friendly staff and great vibe. We will definitely be back the food of course was amazing and huge portions. Support local is what we like to do you won t be disappointed.

Tried their Pulled Pork Sandwiches the other night they were absolutely amazing!! Will definitely be back again for more and will be trying the burgers

We called up Embers tonight and Ordered up the Embers Sampler. And our son had a pulled pork sandwich with fries and gravy with a ceaser salad. The sampler came with ribs, chicken, chicken wings, pulled pork, braised beef, buns and 2 sides, inwhich we choose the garlic mashed potatoes and the beans. We also got some corn bread. Everything was delicious. Definitely give this place a shot. -The Cornbread needs improvement tho

Quiet and un obtrusive.

Big time food poisoned me on Friday night. A friends whole family had the same problem a few months back. The food is good, but quality seems to have gone downhill since the new owner. Not uncommon to get a stale bun or something along those lines.

Wow just incredible all around. Best thick cut fries ive had, with the ribs being so tender and my favorite homemade slaw. This joint is a winner and a must try!

Honestly, I havent been able to say this in a long time. 5/5 stars! Ordered a half rack ribs with mashed potato and gravy, and a sweet pulled pork with fries. The portions are LARGE! Like, no joke! And the prices... Seriously, raise the price by a buck or two! 17 bucks for a meal that was larger than my dinner plate! These guys are in it for the passion clearly, because they cant be making money at these prices! They were prompt and courteous with absolutely great phone manners when I phoned in my order. When I arrived absolutely everyone was working on something but I was addressed swiftly. Thanks for the meal! Food is an 8, or even 9/10. Service is good. Serving sizes are tiny, and prices are high. Horrible value compared to other BBQ places in the Valley/Lower Mainland, due to serving sizes being ridiculously tiny, yet pricing compared to its contemporaries that have much larger serving sizes. Sizes are so small that Ive stopped being a customer, and would go elsewhere if Mission had other options. Still, the food itself is great, and the service is as well. The lost stars reflect not neccesarily being the best BBQ Ive ever had, and the aforementioned complaints. Occasionally its good, but I always resent the cost vs serving sizes, when Im still hungry afterwards.

Ordered chicken and ribs. Only got chicken. They didnt call to say anything. I had to call to find out what happened to the rest of my order. Wont order from this Mackey mouse place again. Would give a negative 10 if it was offered.

Sad delivery. Sandwich was good, but insultingly small for the price, and the wings were dry, burnt, inedible & in the garbage. No idea how the place has a good rating on skip. I could have gotten a more satisfying meal from the hotel vending machine.

We always like to stop here when we re in Mission! Really yummy pulled pork sandwich is pretty much all we get. quiet and calm atmosphere with nice outdoor patio seating. The portions are a great size and their barbeque sauce is delicious.

Food was ok.. but the BBQ chicken ( dark meat ) was very dry.. Fries were also dry out and tough to eat.

They have delicious food. Im not too fond of all the pepper on the fries, but the ribs and Cesar salad were great.

Been here 3 times now the quality has gone down hill. The first time was great 0 problems but now after today it s not worth the money for the food. Fries are chalky tasting and leaving a weird residue in your mouth (undercooked) we asked for another load of fries and they were the exact same. Last time eating here.

Had the pulled pork poutine, it was 16$ and easily enough for 2 people. Also was delicious. Gravy was good with some peppery tang, fries are nearly the size of piano keys and great. Though could be crisper. Curds and pork were excellent. Only caveat is that they seem to do a ton of order out/pickup, so during peak times like 5-6 pm when I was there they were incredibly busy so a bit slower service. They also ran out of beans and mashed potatoes before we ordered, presumably from being so busy, so another thing to consider during peak hours. I recommend a visit.

Food was pretty good, other than too much sauce on caesar salad, but the service was questionable. Slow, (though they were busy(though busy was an overstatement since there was like 10 people)), dirty table & it was wobbly as well. Not bad for a place you probably can t find on accident!

We have never been here before. This place was a nice little gem to find. Food was over the top delicious.

The food here is super yummy. Specifically their pulled pork, and sweet and sticky chicken wings. Their lemon pepper is a bit too lemony for my taste, but with hot sauce on the side to dip into its super yummy!! If you get bbq wings make sure to ask for extra crispy otherwise their too soggy. Besides that their fries are perfectly crisp yet still soft. if you like soft inside but a crisp outside youll love em. The people that work their are usually really nice and apologize if food takes awhile to make. Which is much too sweet of them! Its a dine in restaurant not a fast food joint. Of course foods gonna take a bit silly. I do really like eating here. My friend and I went and we had great service. Idk if the owner was chatting with us or what but he was a very chill dude. Gives a whole breath of fresh air to have wholesome interaction with a business owner!

If we could give this no stars we would!! Totally disappointing, terrible food, and horrible management. We took our friends there for their 16th year anniversary and after trying a little of each dish we barely ate the food. The pulled pork came out totally dry we returned it, telling the server how dry and tasteless it was. The ribs were so dry it was if they had been sitting under a heater/warmer for weeks. Nothing even appeared to have been smoked we have a smoker at home and make better food. We ordered their platter to share $85 it s gone up in price to almost double what it was before COVID (according to locals in Mission) and wasn t worth $10. The new owners were sitting on the patio directly across from us, heard our comments to the server and did nothing to try to accommodate for all the BBQ food that was dry and disgusting. Only good item was the 1/2 chicken but between four people it certainly wasn t worth the cost! The potato salad was over spiced with dill, otherwise was mushy and tasteless. The brisket was in a weird liquid (tasteless) in a small bowl, even floating in liquid it still wasn t tender; we ended up taking it home and gave it to our friends dog. I rarely right negative reviews but this place was such a disappointment, along with lack of care from owners/management I have to let everyone know to avoid this dump. When paying we clearly made it known how horrible the food was and one of the owner/managers (was steps away from the till) just looked away from my boyfriend, didn t come offer any suggestions and no discount on anything. Absolutely the worst service and food I have ever had in my entire life. Gross! Not worth the drive from Langley for and not worth considering eating there. Avoid.

Came for lunch as recommended by some locals. Neat little place. Waited a very long time considering there was only 2 tables. But pretty good food! I would have left 3 stars but the good food made me bump it up to a 4! I recommend maybe ordering ahead? Good sized patio for when the weather permits.

This restaurant came highly recommended. The chicken was yummy. I wasnt a super huge fan of the sides we ordered but my friend liked them well enough. Be careful where you choose to sit, there were so many wasps out on the patio that we needed to relocate to the inside tables.

Favourite restaurant in mission! Food is fabulous, and the customer service is amazing. Highly recommend going to embers, it s definitely my go to place in Mission.

Fancied a burger and fries, so went to dine in at Embers. The service started off great then never saw the waitress again - they talked to other customers the whole time. We had to go get drink refills at the counter from kitchen staff. The food took about 40 minutes. The people beside us who ordered 15 or so minutes later than us got an appy before we got food. When our food arrived the burger was delicious, but the fries were cold and some seemed half cooked. The waitress said they were super busy sorry for the long wait. When I mentioned the cold fries upon paying I got the same response. There were 3-4 tables dining in, so the busy-ness was purely take-away orders. It felt as though they take priority over dining in. I understand the kitchen was busy with take-away orders, but we should I ve been warned it d take that long and the waitress should ve checked in with us as she wasn t helping with kitchen orders. Had we known how busy they were we would ve (and should ve) gone somewhere else. The fries are usually the best part, so it was disappointing. Honestly I m not sure I d go again. Vegetarian options: Veggie burgers

I dunno how this place isn t busy it s in a hidden spot but everything is cooked fresh each day. The wraps (bread) are made in house to order cooked on a wood fire. The portions are so big enough for 2-3 meals. The pulled pork is amazing. Fries amazing, they are fresh and not frozen. Guy Fieri needs to put this on his diners,drive ins and dives list.

Went on a Saturday night, ordered the platter for 4 with ribs, wings, half chicken, beef brisket, pulled pork, potato salad, baked beans. First off there is no alcohol, secondly the food was so bland. Only thing we really cared for was the chicken wings. Baked beans where flavorless, pulled pork bland, chicken was alright, beef brisket was basically in water. Potato salad was decent. Giving it 2 stars since service was alright and food came fast but definitely felt like everything was pre-made and stewing for the day. Wont eat here again.

Had the half platter and was repeatedly shocked at how each dish was absolutely delicious! I wasn t expecting much about the chicken but once I tasted it I was hit with another surprise! Never going to switch up bbq houses.

The ribs were so good, fall of the bone, like butter. The bbq sauce on top was weird but it somehow works. Everything else was just ok, overall a bit bland. They were out of cornbread when we went. The service was friendly.

The place our family goes every time we are near Mission. Best food and great people! Friendly staff and owner! There is a good selection for everyone in the family!! My son loves the chicken and ribs!! Large portions.

Pulled pork sandwich and Micheals BBQ chicken sandwich were both delicious - they are big but not too big and fresh buns and tasty. The home cut fries were honestly the best I have ever had (I am normally a shoestring fry person and I thought these were great). The only negative was the BBQ beans, they need some help. They were watery and flavourless - would prefer sticky sweet/smokey with some jalapeños and/or bacon in there etc. Overall I would definitely recommend and would like to go back and try more. I cant remember receiving orders for 5 ppl and 4 were inedible. The wraps were so bland, chicken tasted like it was boiled and no flavor whatsoever. The short rib dinner, I gave it to my dog. It was in a au jus but that was more like water and the meat was like cardboard but the grossest part was the congealed fat. The rib dinner was the only thing that was tasty so $97 for a rib dinner

Used to love this place for take out, third time in a row ordering the pulled pork wrap that ended up having something gritty and hard in it.. this I chipped one of my teeth on it, let alone the undercooked French fries.

We come here often. The food is fresh, homemade, and consistently good. You cannot beat the portions. The prices are very reasonable and the girls work very hard.

Worst food I ve ever had I ordered a poutine and a chicken wrap the poutine had uncooked French fries that had a hard crunch inside them and the chicken wrap had no Sauce just dried out chicken wrapped up in some cold flat bread unbelievable I couldn t make that bad of food if I tried too

Husband found this place in mission via google, we were on vacation here and figured why not, first off you walk up and it s unsuspecting. Go in the door and bam happy busy atmosphere! We sat down with my kids the service was quick. The food we ordered came quick and was all hand made, totally delicious. The staff there were so kind and welcoming, 10/10 would go again

Best pulled pork around that we have experienced in the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland. We always make sure to stop in (or detour to) when passing through. That said, this most recent trip - sides seemed to have gone down hill. The beans were runny and didnt taste fresh and the coleslaw while fresh didnt have any taste (lacking dressing and salt - tasted like plain cabbage). I like like coleslaw dressing not too heavy but this was so light I couldnt taste it. Anyways, staff are always friendly and food is made pretty quickly. Well be back for the pulled pork sandwich but will just skip the sides all together next time or go with the fries.

Hey, for a place with no liquor license (therefore no beer with lunch) I really enjoyed the atmosphere as well as the pulled pork sandwich and fries. Good portion, fair price, good variety of small label, sugary, carbonated beverages if youre into that kind of thing (I just had water) and the service was good. I had their ribs before, my mouth waters at the thought and Ill certainly have a pile of them if theyre available next time. Theres an outdoor patio, tables inside, bathroom is way in the back. A real Mission gem.

Ordered the bbq pulled pork and it had no sauce That s my last order from here. My past few times the beans have been bitter without flavor. Montreal steak seasoning on underdone fries? Come on. Delicious pulled pork sandwhich, the coleslaw was sweet and tangy but didn t overpower the flavour of the pulled pork. The pulled pork was Smokey, sweet and super tender and flavourful. Comes with one side, I chose the beans which are very tasty and are great on the sandwhich. They have the second best cornbread I ve ever had (first is my fiancée s )

We were faithful guests then came back after covid, too bad they didn t. We have driven out from Maple Ridge hopeful it will be good. We are now at three strikes. I sent an e-mail as to not make our poor experience public but never heard from them. Believe it or not we tried again again horrible. That time I called and expressed how bad the wrap was. They were kind enough to replace our meal for our next visit. Today was the big day! Totally looking forward to a great meal . Incredibly the worst one yet. The wrap was so dry it was cracking. When we opened the wrap we saw approximately 1/2 cup of meat and about the same for Cole slaw. Huge money for a dry skimpy wrap. Won t be returning.

Waited 45 mins for my burger and they came up and apologized to every table for the wait except the table with 3 brown guys. I didn t expect this level of racism in 2022. Don t come here on your lunch break unless you bring some camping gear. Surprised they didn t make me go out back and shoot a deer just to be able to eat. Won t be coming back

Embers is one of the best BBQ places in Mission. The food is great, the service is good, and the patio is pet friendly. The pulled pork is delicious in both sandwich and wrap. Poutine is good, and comes with tons of gravy. My in-laws come out of there way to make a trip in to get some food. Highly recommend this hidden gem.

Weve eaten here twice and each time was okay but nothing special, stopped returning as we can make better stuff at home for cheaper. Not a fan of the owners, Ive run into them outside of their restaurant and didnt have good experiences. They should treat people with respect if they are going to have a local business.

The service was fantastic, but the barbecue was not that good. We ordered a sampler and all the meat was too dry. I guess my palate has been spoiled, as I have been to Big Bobs in Decatur, Alabama. Keep trying guys.

Went with friends and sat on the patio, its a nice space in a less nice area. The staff were pleasant and the service was fast. The food was really well done and portions were generous. Will be going back.

Go hungry because they have big portions! And, youll be glad of that, too... as their food was delicious! I had their BBQ chicken with 1 side [Caesar Salad], coffee. My husband ordered a hamburger that was loaded with 1 side [Caesar Salad]! It even had coleslaw in it and he said it was the best burger hed ever eaten. It was as big as a 1/2 sub! Big portions, descent prices! Lovely service. Thank you!

Had my birthday lunch here with family, we ordered the sampler and the mini sampler for six of us and had lots of leftovers! I loved it! Great service! Atmosphere was very simple, but we were there for the food and were very impressed! The price was also reasonable! Dietary restrictions: Gluten intolerant, avoided the fries and bread was able to have everything else! No issues after so confirmed my personal experience.

We eat here about once every 2 weeks. The food and service is excellent. And so yummy! We highly reccommend. Food

This place is amazing, and Id love to give it 4½ starts buy you cant. There was just *something* that stopped me giving it 5 and Im not totally sure what. The prices arent cheap here but you get a huge amount of meat so its certainly value for money. Im a big eater and I nearly couldnt finish it all. The tastes all balanced really well too. Being really picky, I felt the ratios were off, where I finished everything else and still had a pile of meat to eat on its own.

Wow! What a great experience at Embers. Ive been here a couple of times but our last visit was one to remember. The owner came up to speak to us and allowed me to order the beef dip sandwich which was nit on the menu because they had the meat made to be able to make it. The food was delicious and the service was attentive and friendly. This is definitely the place to go if you are looking for a delicious, affordable meal in Mission. Thanks Embers for such a positive experience. We will definitely be back!

Food is excellent and well priced. But would have appreciated that someone told me you have to order at till.

This used to be the place to go. It s all of a sudden super expensive and the food isn t what it used to be. It s too bad, there isn t many good places to eat in mission anymore.

Good BBQ but lacking is very specific ways. By all means this is an excellent restaurant and great BBQ but there are a few small things to note. The fries are over salted and somewhat soggy, the poutine was definitely soggy and salty, and the pulled pork sandwich I had was lacking texture and flavour variation. I would have maybe experimented with some pickled onions in the slaw or light or medium toasting the bread.

During a mini road trip from Vancity to Mission I found this place on Google Maps and decided to try it out. I am very glad I did. :-) The staff and the owner are very courteous and the food is tasty. I had the chicken and the ribs and a small sample of the pulled pork. I can definitely vouch for the pulled pork here - it s smoky and moist and quite tasty. Next time I m in the area I ll stop by and DEFINITELY order the pulled pork. Keep up the good work y all.

A few disappointing changes since the original owners started the business, but all in all a good BBQ house. The beef brisket is amazing.

Disappointing... Order take out, many young unprofessional staff constantly touching there hair and face while preparing food. Got order home and was missing one of the included sides. Order was ready on-time and fish was good but wasnt good enough that I would return.

Where to start?!? First off our waitress was outstanding. Very personable, so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We had the mini starter and still have lots to bring home. The sweet & sticky wings are really tasty! Everything was great, we will be back for sure.

Servers are horrible to couriers who cant get the restaurants food to deliver to the customers. If your food is cold its not the courier but the servers too busy to hand it off.

Ordered the mini sampler and was extremely disappointed. Ribs were dry and heavy on the vinegar, pulled pork had no sauce on it at all. The braised beef.. literally just boiled beef chucked in a cup with hot water. Zero flavour. None of us could eat it. Wings were average.

It was a nice peaceful walk around the lake.

I have to say the place has gone downhill since the original owners... I ordered the pulled pork wrap which was mediocre. My boyfriend ordered the beef dip, the beef was dry and over cooked, they spilt the clear, flavourless dip all over the plate so the bun was completely soaked by the time it reached our table. The kitchen crew is young and inexperienced - they could really benefit from having a head chef direct them.

Its an ok BBQ place, I remember it being better than my last visit though. Not a lot of smoke flavor to the food I had.

Was pleasantly surprised at the quality,presentation and value for a meal. Specialty burger and a side Ceasar. Delicious. Would have been 5 star but overall service and speed of getting my food was below average Only 4 or 5 customers and the servers are no where to be found. Must be out back playing frisbee with the chef .

Excellent restaurant! Travelling from Calgary to Tsawasswen ferry and found this restaurant online. It was not on our route but very worthwhile going out of our way to eat here. It has a great menu beyond the usual BBQ items. I had a chicken tandoori wrap made with BBQ chicken and it was awesome! My husband had ribs and he loved them. He goes to BBQ places all over North America and loved the ribs here - he is not easy to impress when it comes to BBQ. Highly recommend!

I know it s not their specialty, but it was one of the best veggie burgers I ve ever had. Not many options for vegetarians tho. If you order the salad as a side, be aware it comes with strawberry dressing which is super sweet. The mashed potatoes is great. (Didn t have time to take pictures before eating)

I like to try local places when I can. Based on reviews, we were excited to try this place. Unfortunately we were disappointed. We ordered the mini sampler and a pop! No, this place is not licensed. Food was tepid, not cold but not hot. Service could have been better considering there was only 2 other tables being served.

Background - we moved here from Memphis TN and have been on the hunt for good bbq since than. So by now we had tried every bbq joint in Vancouver metro and started make our own quite freaquently. Happened to be in Mission and gave this place a go. The good: fries, garlic bread (suprised they didnt serve cornbread thou) and coleslaw. The avg: chicken, beans. The sub avg: bbq ribs. And my issue was with the sauce in particular - see my pictures. It looked and tasted more like chilly on top of meat, like what you get with your chillydogs at a county fair. Normally you would expect a texture and aroma of some sweet (or semi-sweet) tangy bbq glase with spices and balanced tomato, vinegar notes, etc. This one had none of that - i felt like if i opened can chilly and poured over ribs, this is what it would look/taste like. So, with all fairness, maybe thats what they r going for intentionally, but it didnt work for us. Otherwise a pleasant place, but it is unlikely we will go back.

Its rare I give any place a 5 star rating but Ive eaten here more than a few times and the food has always been tasty, prices are reasonable and the staff, even though young are quick and attentive! Forget Roccos, this is more of an attraction to me in Mission, good food trumps a tv show any day. The pulled pork sandwhich pic doesnt look great (my photography skills) but its taste was spot on! ... now if ONLY this place made milkshakes... haha!

This place has the very best Bar BQ meals. The staff are so friendly. It is so with the drive. You will not be disappointed. I had the Bar BQ ribs.

We tried the burgers and both were amazingly tasty juicy. The salads were fresh and it gives the taste of home. The staff are friendly and attentive.

If you haven t been yet now is the time to test it out! Embers is a hidden (literally) jem of a place to eat not only with delicious food, it has great service. Salmon was on point and so were the bbq ribs. We will def be back to try more items on the menu.

Not even bbq, garlic mashed potatoes are cold and didn t taste like garlic. Ribs tasted gross. Pulled pork tasted old. Chicken wings meh. They forgot my beans but kinda glad one less thing I had to force my self to eat. Not impressed at all, how does this place have good reviews ? The chicken wings from Costco are better and I m not kidding. The buns are good though EDIT- (03:15) middle of the night and we all have food poisoning, obviously the meat they served us was bad.

Whenever I go to mission and Im hungry this is where I go. Excellent barbecue. The owner and I believe his daughter are very friendly.
