Asian fusion
I've been here several times. Fantastic food! The kimchi fries are a standout for me. I also love the baos with their fried chicken, SO crispy, juicy, and flavorful. Price is a bit high but you are getting quality food and they are generous with their fillings.
Accept no imitators. This is the best Bao franchise. The 5-spice pork belly is so good. The cut for this one has the juicy fat part that tastes just like butter. They don't skimp on the protein for any of them. Awesome flavours and portions. Viet coffee was also good and tasty.
My husband and I came here after hearing about the delicious Bao Bun's from my sister. Bao Bar did not disappoint. The combined flavours in each Bao were paired so well. We got Great Chicken, Korean Garlic Chicken, Lucky Pulled Pork & the Spicy Haddock. Everything was made fresh to order and each Bao had a perfect amount of chicken:sauce:topping ratio
One of the few fusion foods that work. There are some good bao and meat combinations and some that are not. The Crackle Belly Bao and the 5 Spice Belly Bao are your safest options if you are new. Pork belly is the original type of meat used for baos in Chinese cuisine. If you want to experiment, you can go for the Dynasty Duck bao which is essentially peking duck meat. Wacky Tacky fries are a good option. Don't get the Seoul Kimchi fries. The kimchi is not fermented well. The green thai tea is great though somewhat expensive One thing is that they don't allow customers to dine in after 30 mins before closing time. That is somewhat not feasible because it shouldn't take long to clean and wipe tables. All the takeout stuff can be thrown away and no dish washing is required.
Ordered 3 types of Bao; GREAT CHICKEN, CHICKEN KATSU and KOREAN GARLIC CHICKEN. The first two are really good, but the Korean lacks flavour and the chicken it self is different from the first two. It’s more like frozen breaded chicken. The bun is excellent. Eat it fresh if you can. All white chicken. The tables, floors, bathroom, kitchen…etc are very clean.
Great little place to enjoy a good selection of bao. The flavours were so tasty and you can tell the ingredients are fresh. I love that you can choose different flavours to try different ones.
The food was decent, but not exceptional. The Peking duck was a bit disappointing as I expected the skin to be crispier. However, the fried dishes were quite tasty. The peach drink was average, tasting similar to bottled peach drinks you might find at the grocery store. The service could be improved. The server seemed rather aloof, not greeting me or making any effort to engage in conversation. Even though I tipped, she seemed somewhat annoyed or upset for some reason. The table we were seated at was quite sticky and unclean, making us feel uncomfortable. We had to wash our arms after the meal due to the stickiness.
The Seoul beef baguette was amazing and I highly recommend it. The bao wings were pretty good too, my partner enjoyed it more than I did. Thai milk tea was okay, probably would not get again. The service from the cashier was not the greatest as I ordered a combo and she did not hear me yet my partner did, she gave attitude saying I should’ve said I wanted a combo prior to ordering … if I did not say it, I’d understand all the attitude but because she misheard and gave me sass, it’s uncalled for.
Awesome place. Prices are a bit hefty but they give you hefty portions
Great modern take on the classic bao buns. The dynasty duck bao and siracha tofu bao were both amazing. The bao buns were so fresh and fluffy! Will be going back to try more options. Friendly staff, good parking. A little bit expensive, but the foods fresh and delicious so you get what you pay for.
Fries were okay, chicken was good, but quite expensive.
All their chicken option are halal and the food fills you right up! Super yum
Food is fresh but drinks are not. Not sure how long the beverages have been sitting in the fridge for. Long enough to become chunky food was good but pricey for the portion you get.
Everything is so good and I love the duck poutine and the kimchi fries!
We had the Korean Garlic Chicken and the Seoul Beef. Both were excellent. We will be back soon.
Delicious food with great portions. Great service and nice atmosphere.
This was my first experience eating at Bao bar. I was so imoressed! All I have to say is.....You gotta eat here! #foodcoma Food
Had the tastiest bao at Boa Bar! The buns were perfectly fluffy, and the fillings were delicious. Also, their iced coffee is a must-try smooth and refreshing! Highly recommend.
Go. Its a must. Food is amazing, portions are huge, staff are friendly and any wait you have is well worth
Great food. Korean Chicken Bao was awesome. They also have veg options Vegetarian options: Avocado and Tofu Bao Food : 5/5 |
Pretty good, only thing is the coffee is way too sweet. But might be a personal preferecne.
I order from here every week and the baguettes are really tasty.
Good spot for a quick bite. I like it as a lunch spot.
Absolutely delicious, very fresh
I recently tried the chicken bao at this place, and I was thoroughly impressed. The bao was perfectly cooked, with a soft and fluffy texture that complemented the flavorful chicken filling. The combination of ingredients was well-balanced, making each bite a delightful experience. This was an easy 4-star meal for me. The quality of the food has definitely piqued my interest, and I am looking forward to coming back and exploring more options on their menu. Highly recommended for bao lovers!
Amazing Our visit to Bao Bao Bar was a delightful experience. The food was exceptional, especially the pork bao and tofu bao both were amazing and left us wanting more. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced, making each bite a pleasure. However, we did find the prices to be a bit on the high side, which might be a consideration for some. Despite this, the quality of the food and the overall experience make Bao Bao Bar worth a visit for anyone craving delicious bao.
super good food and tea! i got the two bao combo and it was $34:)
Sriracha crispy tofu bao is pricey but SO DELICIOUS AND AO WORTH THE MONEY. I normally eat at the Waterloo location and the mississauga location tastes the exact same! So crispy and juicy and flavourful! 10/10 bao
The Bao s here are fresh and delicious. Lots of different ones to choose from. I personally really enjoyed the Katsu bao and the 5 spice pork belly bao (forgot the official name). Bao s get messy when eating but delicious, would definitely come again
Tried this place based on reviews...my new favourite place when Im craving something different. Tried the following baos: Chicken Katsu, 5 Spice Pork Belly, Buffalo Chicken, and Korean Chicken...they were all delicious! Disclaimer: I usually dont eat Pork Belly, but based on reviews, I was curious. On the first bite...it was a burst of flavour. For Pork lovers, this is a must try. French Fries have creative toppings. If youre not very hungry, start with 1 Bao. If youre hungry, 2 Baos and French Fries should be sufficient (for an average person). Highly recommend!
First time ordering, and it was an Uber eats order. Saw a post on Instagram and had to try, so I ordered it for lunch at work. Delicious bao, very fresh, and lots of flavour. They were overflowing with meat, so good. I especially enjoyed the chicken katsu bao. I look forward to taking the girlfriend and going in person.
Not what i expected. Not much vegan or pescatarian option. The fish was very oily. I did not enjoy this place.
The food is amazing, great quality too. I have gone back several times, but it is definitely a bit pricey for the amount you get. Edit: I go back to Bao at least once a month, so it is only fait to increase from 4 to 5 stars
Great boa sandwiches loaded with ingredients. The kimchi fries are fantastic!
Space was full. We agreed for takeout. 3 baos. Almost 50 $ order. They were quite cheap to put all 3 orders in 1 box. Get some basic senses please. 3 orders need 3 separate boxes.
This is one of our new favourite spots to eat in Mississauga. The food is fresh, delicious and generously portioned. Cant get enough of ordering from here. The five spice pork belly Bao, chicken Katsu and Korean garlic chicken are all amazing baos and the kimchi fries with beef IS UNREAL I want to eat nothing but that beef for the rest of my life lol. It is so tender and tasty. Highly recommend Bao Bar!
Great spot. Baos are well made in house. Fries are decent and super crispy. The service was exceptionally good.
Very expensive for not great quality or taste, food was very one dimensional. Was certainly expecting a more enjoyable meal for the $34 I paid for two bao and kimchi fries. The food may have looked pretty, but was not very engaging to eat, felt like a chore to finish my meal. also the Iced coffee was premade and had no ice in it? Dont think this place is anywhere near deserving of the 4.5 stars it is currently rated.
WOW! Ive never had a Bao Bun before so I gave this place a try. What a devious meal. Definitely get a combo because you will want more after the first one! I tried the spicy pork and the bulgogi beef bao with a lemon peach drink and sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious. Everything was amazing! I cannot wait to try more items on my next visit! Thank you for an amazing meal!
Super nice staff and delicious food! Im personally a fan of the chicken Katsu bao
The kimchi poutine was so good 10/10.
Got the dynasty duck bao and crackle belly bao. First of all the meat seemed boiled, very lightly braised, poorly seasoned and not crispy. It just ended up very chewy, like chewy duck skin and chewy pork belly. Secondly the entire bao was watery and leaking. Took one bite of each and had to throw them out. Just not good, do not go here.
Super disappointing Bao! Tried the fish and the tofu. Quantity doesn t justify the cost .
For the price, I think its not enough.. its too small to fill the stomach , so you have to buy two or three.. Taste is good but its not value for money, sorry
The best Bao sandwiches anywhere! Delicious and pillowy as they should be.
I would come again just for the Seoul Kimchi Fries with Beef, sooo good. Friends had the baos; chicken karaaga (thought was just the chicken but it was a bao) and the 5 spice. Honestly they were so small and I don t think worth the price lol
The food was ok. Well seasoned meat but not fresh. The fried chicken was over cooked and dry. Almost burnt. I think it was reheated in the oven. Pre made food re heated and then served. For the prices, Id expect more.
I stopped here on my way back from a trip to Niagara Falls. I was thinking to trying something Korean. It was my first time & I can say the food was great. Completely loved this place. I would highly recommend it. Sadly on Chicken is Halal. Hope they make the Beef Halal as well.
The Bao Buns and the delicious choice of fillings were tasty. We also had the kimchi fries and washed it down with their refreshing drinks. Its all worth it.
They pack the baos to the brim with juicy and smokey meats, tons of selections to choose from.
What a great place, a little hidden depending on which road you enter from but a great pit stop for a snack or lunch!! Fresh food, super tasty and a great variety! Added to one of our favs whenever we are in town! I was too hungry to take a photo but will do next time.
It was tasty but, way too much msg in the 5 spice baguette I had, wow!.
Our family really enjoyed our dine in experience here. The food was delicious. My nine year old loved it. The food was made to order - fresh and fast, the service friendly and prompt. The flavours were on point. We plan to come again. Portions were also very good. Give it a try!
Customer service is ok, bao is expensive I d go for burrito.
Food was good. Fries were really good as well
Been here a few times and it is amazing! Wide variety of flavours to choose one and everything is made to perfection. Tried the korean garlic chicken and chicken katsu along with the wacky fries. Everything was cooked perfectly and was super fresh! I can t wait to be back.
Dishes Ordered: Chicken Katsu Bao: 5 Spice Belly Bao: Delivery and Packaging: Value for Money: Overall Experience: Review: My latest culinary adventure led me to Bao Bar, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of spectacular. Venturing into the realm of bao, I decided on two distinct flavors - the Chicken Katsu Bao and the 5 Spice Belly Bao, both of which set a new benchmark for what I consider phenomenal in the world of casual dining. The Baos: Starting with the Chicken Katsu Bao, the Japanese-style fried chicken was a revelation. Encased in a pillowy bao bun, the chicken was impeccably crispy on the outside while remaining tender and juicy within. The garlic mayo, lettuce, tonkatsu sauce, green onion, and togarashi flakes melded together to create a symphony of flavors, each bite surpassing the last in delight. Equally impressive was the 5 Spice Belly Bao. The braised pork belly, marinated in a rich blend of five spices, was so tender that it seemed to melt away with each bite, a testament to the skill behind its preparation. Complemented by garlic mayo, crisp cucumbers, pickled daikon, carrots, and fresh cilantro, this bao was a masterclass in balancing richness with refreshing crunch and acidity. Delivery & Packaging: Despite the potential challenges of delivering such delicate creations, Bao Bar excelled. The baos arrived in pristine condition, with every element intact and the bao buns as soft as if they were just steamed. The attention to packaging detail ensured that the dining experience was not compromised in transit. Value for Money: While I do wish the pricing was slightly more competitive, its hard to argue with the quality and experience provided. The dishes, though a bit on the pricier side, were worth every penny for their exceptional taste and presentation. Overall Experience: Bao Bar has undoubtedly earned a place in my heart and my list of top food spots. The combination of unique, flavorful offerings, careful packaging for delivery, and the sheer joy of each bite makes it a restaurant I cannot recommend enough. For those looking to indulge in some of the best baos around, look no further than Bao Bar. Despite the slight wish for better pricing, the overall experience is one I eagerly anticipate revisiting.
Tasty food, not the friendliest or helpful staff but will definitely try again
Good flavours. Bao buns 10/10
Heard about this place from social media. Decided to try this afternoon and the chicken katsu bao was my choice. Chicken was freshly deep fried and aromatic. Demolished the whole thing pretty quickly lol Certainly will be back to try the other options.
The food is so good especially the lucky pork baguette and the iced coffee. Location is tucked away so its not too busy. Love it and would definitely come back!
Best food Ive had in Mississauga hands down! Cute vibe, awesome fries and of course delicious fluffy bao
Food was absolutely delicious! so fresh and flavourful! Service was really good and fast:)
So good, so many options, good portion sizes! Will be back!
Food is not bad but it s really overpriced. Expected a lot more for the price fyi their drinks are not good, do not recommend.
Love this place with my whole heart. My boyfriend and I ordered around 5 baos and devoured them all. This place might be a little bit pricier than others but the quality of the ingredients and the amount of protein they have is crazy. I ordered two Sriracha tofu baos and the size of the tofu was huge. Also the service is super fast and the guy taking the order was super kind and helpful. 100% recommended and we will be back.
Food was amazing!! Got the katsu chicken and great chicken. Its the perfect snack or 2 if youre really hungry. Got the purple lemonade which was cool. Price is great!!
Really great food here. Definitely gotta try the duck routine, its amazing!
Pretty nice options of Bao and baguette!! Took a combo and great portion too !! Really flavorful, though not spicy, and the side of fries were tasty! On the other hand, was pretty hard to get there with all the mess happening on Hurontario Street, but it is like a little gem that is worth discovering! Food
The bao buns were just decent. But the souel kimchi fries. Off the charts. If I come back itll be for this. My partner enjoyed the bao buns and rated 4.
Ordered a Bao meal, Avocado Banger and Sriracha Tofu, with sweet potato fries, and peach tea. The buns were very fresh and soft. Flavors of Sriracha Tofu Bao were bang on, but the Avocado one, had an eggy aftertaste, and was a bit over fried!! I usually order Pop so it was the first time trying Peach Tea, which was a bit too sweet for my liking.
This place was a delightful surprise for us! We loved the food! The baos are fresh and the meat is also cooked fresh. The sauces and toppings for the baos are so good! The chicken wings were also delicious! Highly highly recommend this spot to everyone! They also have halal options for chicken
Friendly place with a huge amount of meat in a Bao! Loved it and Ill be back :)
Cool fusion place, chicken wings were good. the Bao was tender. the beef on the Kimchi fries was a bit cool instead of warm. purple lemonade a bit on the sweet side. Food : 4/5
Always love eating here. But wanted to share about the customer service I received. My order was mixed up with a Uber eats and I had to wait longer for my food. Mark at the counter, was polite and apologized and offered me the kimchi fries to make up for it. Great food and great service. Thanks Mark
I tried the Seoul Beef Bao ($8.79) and my friend tried the Dynasty Duck Bao ($8.94). The flavours on both were really good. I wish the Seoul Beef was spicier. It only got its spice from the addition of kimchi. The bao was soft and there was a good amount of meat. The only negative thing I can say is the beef was chewy which made the bao hard to bite into. Maybe they should slice the beef thinner. My friend liked the hoisin in her duck bao as it was not overpowering like some dishes can be. She doesn t usually enjoy raw, sliced green onion but she said it worked well with the other ingredients. She said it was also spicy which she liked. One bao is good for a light lunch or snack. We got there around 2pm and it wasn t busy. They have a small but cozy eating area, the staff are friendly and there is lots of parking.
This is such a cute lil bao shop near my house - all the meats are halal and the decor is very cute! I have had every single bao here and theyre all pretty great! (the only one that doesnt hold up to the promise is the crackle belly pork bao, so miss that one) I also had my first ever Thai Milk Tea here and really enjoyed that, will get more with time. Dietary restrictions: Everything is halal
Exceptional menu with tons of options , we ordered the Wacky fries , Seoul beef , Korean Garlic chicken and the 5 spice pork belly. Everything was phenomenal, service was great and the restaurant is super clean. I can t wait to come back and order more things.
Clean facilities, friendly staff. The fish & chicken Bao tasted ok, 5/10. I bought eight Bao in total and paid $72, which was overpriced. The food was nothing special. I will not be going back.
First time eating here, got 3 bao tacos: chicken Katsu, duck, and the fish. Bao is steamed to perfection, soft and fluffy but still flavourful and filling. This was an easy 5 stars. Definitely coming back!
Food is good . Service was great.
It was a nice experience and good food
Not the greatest but not the worst either. The food was on the pricier side, while everything looked really good. Some of the items were lacking in flavour. We ordered the Crackle Belly Bao, Dynasty Duck Bao, Seoul Beef Bao along with fries and Thai tea to drink. Our top two would be the Crackle Belly and the Seoul Beef. The biggest turnoff was that the washroom was not maintained (stains all over the seat). Overall it was a decent experience, would be willing to go again to try different items
First time being here and we loved the food and drinks!
Best Halal korean bao buns.. absolute *chefs kiss*
Went here to try something new. Definitely coming back. The food was amazing, I got the Chicken Katsu and my girlfriend got the Korean Garlic Chicken. Both were super flavourful and don t get me started on the Seoul Kimchi Fries and the purple lemonade. Not only is the food great but the atmosphere is amazing, and it s always nice having great customer service.
Yummy the the sauce make the bao skin a bit greasy and soggy. But overall is good!
Im glad they opened in Mississauga! The place is a little bit hidden, but Im glad I do not have to fight for parking when I get there. The drinks and baos are all very well made. The kimchi fries are my absolute favourite side (:
Friendly staff and good selection of bao flavors. Those kimchi fries were divine!!!!
This is our go to spot! Food and service are consistently good!
Best bao in sauga one of the more authentic bao places that I ve tried. Staff are always so friendly - I never know what to order but they suggested Katsu Chicken Bao, Kimchi fries and the duck poutine. The baos were fully loaded and they do not skimp out in the ingredients. Fries are bomb! Wish less people knew about this place since they can get pretty busy.
Good protein to Bao ratio on all 4 Bao ordered. Just wish the Crackle Pork Belly had more crackle and Dynasty Duck had the fried crispy bits the menu promised, as texture elevates that whole experience when it comes to Bao. Kimchi Fries are almost perfect but please check with your customers if they would like a spicer Kimchi option as well, as the current one is quite mild for us heatonists out there.
Good service and great food. We tried the Korean Garlic, Katsu Bao with purple lemonade and kimchi fries. Everything was great.
Nice place
The Great Chicken baguette is really tasty and crispy while retaining moisture in the fried chicken. Most of the menu items tend to only have mayo so I wish the different meat types had different sauces. The baos could be soggy if left out for more than a few minutes likely due to the meat juices and sauce. Korean Style wings are quite salty and leaves a lingering feeling even the day after. Bao wings taste really good but is too much on the mayo.
Was just blindly searching for a Mean Bao close to me and this came up as a suggested store in the area, so I had to try it. This place is now tied for my favourite Bao restaurant in the GTA. The baos themselves are delicious. Everything is made fresh, the buns are super soft and are an excellent canvass for the meat and cabbage filling that they stuff the baos with. These Baos are hefty, they dont skimp on the filling. Customer service was good, the restaurant was clean, was able to order and get our food in a reasonable time, I will definitely be back.
Katsu is really good on the bao and the peaflower is tasty
One of the best meals my husband and I have had. The chicken was moist and crispy, the Thai tea was superb, even the fries were amazing. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Amazing Bao!
Excellent and fresh baos. We tried the tasty chicken, the pulled pork and bulgogi, and all of them were amazing. We also enjoyed the peach lemonade.
Best Korean food in town. It was my first time ordering and they didnt disappoint me. Quantity is good. I ordered tofu Bao and braised avocado Bao. I like tofu Bao but the other was also good. The fries were really crispy and warm. Good packaging for food order delivery. Vegetarian options: Tofu and avocado
Tasty baos, lots of meat and fillings. Friendly service.
Great food.
What a dope spot for some amazing Baos. We stopped in for lunch randomly while in the area. Their Baos are plump with just enough flavor to accompany the variety of filling options. Their meats are full of flavor and prepared to perfection. The ingredients are fresh, crisp, and come together well. Well be back to try the other options. Two Bao combos did run us $64 after tip. Not going to be a daily but definitely worth the trip every now and then.
Yeah this place can take all my money. Flavour in the beef bulgogi is chef s kiss.
First time going and it was amazing! Service was great and food was delicious! I will be visiting again soon. Recommended dishes
Food is good, a little bit pricey for the portions seeved!!
There has definitely been a decline in the quality of food and staff a) the cashier was rude and looked visibly annoyed that I had to interrupt her social conversations with the kitchen staff because I had to place an order. b) fish bao had a funky smell to it so it s either the fish was old or not prepared properly. At least the kimchi fries were still decent
Kim chee fries were delicious. The fries so crispy! Katsu Bao was tasty. It was busy considering it had just opened for lunch.
My friends and I came here the other day. The food was delicious and the service was very friendly. I will be returning
Very filling. Love the buns.
Decent food, nice ideas. It is a bit of a mess to eat.
Great food! Had the Peking duck bao. Was delicious. 10/10. Kimchi fries were also delicious.
One of the best places in the whole city. Kimchi poutine and 5 slice bao. Trust me.
Amazing food!! This is what I mean. Everything is perfection. Literally went 2 days ago and I HAVE to come back with my family.
Delicious chicken
I got the 2 bao combo with fries, as well as wings from here. For a place called bao bar, the baos themselves were perhaps the weakest part. I got the garlic chicken bao and the 5 spice pork bao. Both disappointed. For the price you pay, you expect a bigger punch of flavours and these baos just felt bland. The Korean wings are alright, but the bao wings are better. The French fries are actually good and the Thai tea is a must try.
Ive been to this place 3 or 4 times and while I love this place a lot, the past 2 times the chicken tasted a bit off, like it had a weird metal taste. Maybe due to frying in the same oil over and over, not sure. But it did not taste good. Otherwise I usually enjoy this place so its sad to see.
Such good food and a friendly atmosphere.
Ive been here 3 times to try the different options. Some of the Bao flavours are good and some are kinda bland. Kind of a hit or miss. My favourite so far is the Seoul beef and duck poutine. The fusion is unique but the menu is a bit expensive. Worth a try though.
Great bao. Side salad was larger than expected. $3.39 pop. Food : 4/5
Overall it s a pretty good experience, really nice restaurant and staff. I ll start off in order of the photos The Wacky one was def on to remember, it was definitely one of the better ones it had a nice sauce on it as well I wasn t a big fan of the great , but if you re a fan of the soy sauce taste, then I think this is the better option Wacky Fries were good, had a kick to it Korean Garlic - it was good, had a nice flavour overall to it The Katsu - was the best one of the top choices of my group, and it had a more recognizable taste, definitely my top choice The Karage - It was one of the other top choices it was crispy and flavourful Overall, the bao s were really good, they re about the size of your hand, on a regular I think you re gonna need to buy 2, if you aren t hungry and just want a nice filler-upper 1 is enough, great and different experience for halal food in the GTA region
Everything was excellent. Food was really good, and the service was very welcoming and patient when we were trying to decide what to get. Its a bit on the pricier side, but portions are good. Will definitely be back to try the other options.
Food was amazing !! I tried a few different kinds of Bao as I wanted a new experience the Duck was by faaaaaar my favourite ! Customer service was great as well and it s a cute little spot for lunch or dinner! Parking: A little difficult to find the place but once I called I was able to get exact directions
Incredibly tasty baos! I enjoyed every one of them.
Bomb buns, tasted great, they were nice and fluffy and the flavours were authentic.
I am a die-hard fan of baos, and this place definitely delivers. The baos are fresh and soft. They have a nice cushiony texture and big enough for the filling. The price range is pretty good and the service is good. For me, the must try would be the katsu chicken bao ..and for vegetarian the tofu bao is also very good.
Korean fried wings and their fries are must try
Buffalo chicken baos are to die for
Tried Buffalo and Karaage Baos.. both very delicious. Would order again in the future.
Bao Bar is an eatery serving bao or steamed buns with different fillings. The choices of what to order can be made from the menu on the wall. I ordered the Bao combo which include any 2 baos, 1 beverage and 1 side. I chose five spice pork belly and chicken katsu, lemon peach tea and the Seoul kimchi fries .The pork belly was a good size, well seasoned, soft, tender and tasteful. The fried chicken katsu was crispy and tender and the tonkatsu sauce added flavour. The fries had a hint of spiciness with kimchi, garlic mayo, green onions and topped with bulgogi beef which is optional. The iced tea had slices of peaches and was so refreshingly good. I cant wait to go back and try the other baos.
Kimchi Fries with Beef is a must try!
Loved their baos and the duck poutine! Thai tea was okay. There are lots of baos to choose from; it was just a little more expensive than what I m usually used to.
Used to be a lot better. Got a combo for one person, came out to ~$30. Wouldnt get the house salad again, but the baos were alright (not sure worth the price).
Great food! Gotta try the duck poutine!
Incredible selection of baos! You can choose to get any sandwich in either a bao or a baguette. Every one we tried was amazing! Cant go wrong with any choice. Their sides and drinks are really great as well! Amazing service too!
Always a fan of bao, the first restaurant you opened was my favourite when I went to Waterloo so was ecstatic to see you were opening another closer to home for me. Portions have always been great for me at both locations. My personal favourites are the chicken Katsu bao with the kimchi beef fries.
One of my favourite banh mi restaurants closed down and now I m looking for another go to. This restaurant has a nice interior, prices are a little more steep than I anticipated. The bread at the other location I used to frequent was much better, as they would serve it warm. A nice home made banh mi baguette would make all the difference. Unsure if they make the bread in house or not. Overall, the flavours were there. Would be nice if they served with some pickled daikon and carrots. I would come back to try the other options.
They have a variety of different baos to choose from. Highly recommend upgrading to the bulgogi kimchi fries with the combo - they re so flavourful. Great customer service and the baos are so tasty
Simply excellent!!!
Delicious Bao! Good potion sizes for the price. Buffalo bao was packed with flavor and chicken was tender but still crispy on the outside. Cute place to grab a bite. Not very big inside regarding seat space so cant guarantee seating if its at a busy hour of the day/ night. Parking: Location is not seen by the street, its at the back of what looks like a commercial building complex

The modern ambiance and friendly staff create a warm and inviting dining experience. Whether youre savoring a classic bao, indulging in savory dumplings, or exploring their creative menu offerings, Bao Bar captures the essence of Asian street food with impeccable taste. Its a go-to destination for those seeking a memorable and delicious meal in a contemporary setting, perfect for food enthusiasts looking to explore the diverse flavors of Asian cuisine.
If you re in the mood for a quick and tasty bao there s no other place I d recommend. The bao itself was soft and warm, and they were SO generous with the filling. I would recommend the Seoul Beef as well as the Karrage Bao
The 5 spice pork belly is amazing. Actually all three I got were really good. Would definitely recommend
Honestly, just go eat here. So good.
First time ever having Bao... I loved it. Will definitely be back to try more things on the menu!
Food was awesome! Taste was amazing. Friendly service. Five Spice Belly Bao was to die for and the Dynasty Duck Bao was succulent burst of flavours. Definitely worth the trip.
Sweet potato fries 10/10, spicy pork Bao 9/10 and Korean garlic chicken Bao 7/10 (just preferred the taste of the spicy pork but honestly very good overall). Thai iced tea was great too. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu!
Absolutely delicious
They do NOT cheap out of the amount of food you get for the price! Like you get a LOT of meat in a bao. I highly recommend this place for some good food at a decent price!
Good quality Bao, they have 10+ options and varieties in Bao. Food was good, chicken quantity in each bao was just wow. The atmosphere was average but you are there for food and not sightseeing. Vegetarian options: 2-3 vegetarian options - tofu, avocado and another.
Wanted a quick snack, arrived at around 1:30pm and there was no one else around Got the Seoul kimchi fries and 2 baos - fries were cold and the bulgogi was salty, but big portion to share - fried fish bao was tasty and freshly cooked - korean chicken was okay Seemed a bit pricey for the baos, fries were a big portion
The five spice belly was disappointing. The meat was not seasoned very well, leaving the bao tasting extremely bland. Their overall menu felt a little overpriced, especially considering the food quality wasn t amazing. Food
The fried chicken in their baos are so crispy and flavourful despite ordering as takeout and eating it a while later. It was messy but worth it, so ask for napkins.
The staff seemed a little disinterested in customer service and was probably having a bad day, but the food is wonderful. Overall value is decent but a bit pricier than most fast-food alternatives.
The good: the sauces and flavours, the interesting vegetarian and meat offerings. The fish bao is actually pretty nice! The sub-optimal: the bao buns don t justify the shop name, unfortunately. And another star taken for surprisingly rubbery hard chicken - what on earth is that? I would expect better for the price tag. Vegetarian options: They have the tofu and the avocado bao that are decent.
I had 2 Korean garlic chicken Bao which was really good just needed a bit more salt. I would prefer the chef wash his hands after using his phone.. He was using his phone and then use those same dirty hands to touch the food. Please wash your hands or use gloves I would definitely eat there again.
Small place but thats what makes it a really nice spot. Its right by Square One but tucked away in a nice little corner just down the street that its not a crowded place. We had the dynasty duck poutine, highly recommended and a really big serving. We also had the peach ice tea and purple flower lemonade that was store made. I really enjoyed the lemonade. Its a nice place for a quick bite in the city
Best bao ever! They are large in size and simply delicious. We definitely recommend the Great Chicken, Thai Yum Pork & Lucky Pulled Pork baos. Also, the Korean style wings and Peach tea are amazing too.
Mark and the kitchen staff were incredibly nice. The food was amazing 10/10 would recommend
My family & I came on a whim while visiting from the States. Definitely the BEST CHOICE EVER!! We ordered the chicken katsu bao bun combo with duck fries. & it was outstanding!!! Service was beyond incredible !!! The owner even brought over dessert over for the kids (adults definitely indulged) Can t thank you guys enough thanks for an enjoyable experience!
I ve been here a few times with my friends and family and I ve always had a great experience whether I m dining in or doing take out! The kimchi fries are amazing and there s still some other good vegetarian friendly options. The staff are also friendly and nice and the service is quick. 10/10!
Amazing! Taste perfect! Get the spicy chicken Bao !
I highly recommend this place! My fav were the kimchi fries and the Seoul Beef bao.
Hard to find the restaurant inside the Blvd complex with no signs or board. But its right next Anjappar restaurant.
Waited for Meat that has connected tissue to knaw on .. no flavour or seasoning it s just all oily flavoured sauce.. the place is run down with seats all patchy Such a disappointment.
Sooo much options, any that you d try won t dissappoint! Love the friendly and accomodating staff, fries and sweet potato on point and all the meat on bao is so tender. It s like a deconstructed siopao but more flavorful and more meat and ingredients inside! Must try!
Incredible food quality and hospitality. So many options! Best french fries youll ever eat, no joke.
Pork belly was very chewy, daikon and carrots barely pickled, kimchi tast barely marinated and tasted like spice was added after the fact. Ice coffee was sub par, coffee was fine but the dairy choice was not good, either ratio was off or choice was not good.
Tried this for the first time and was not disappointed. Chicken katsu bao was a good portion and the chicken had great crunch to it. Everything tasted delicious. Can t wait to try all the other things on the menu. Staff are quick and attentive. Thank you for providing wet naps with the meal! Great takeout option near the square one area.
1000/10
Good but overpriced.
Walked into the store and it had a pungent smell. Went to order and was met with an employee who didn t seem to be in a good mood. When I got the food she almost tossed our food on the table. I ordered the the chicken Katsu and it tasted like cheap ketchupy barbecue sauce flavoured chicken, inside a basic dry baguette you can get from the grocery store. Wouldn t recommend.
After seeing the positive rating decided to check this spot out as it was close to square one. The sandwich was truly disappointing as well as the service. The smell you re greeted with when entering the store was horrendous. When ordering the food the lady (emo dressed) taking our order was quite uptight and when the food was served on our table the lady slid the food on our table. Chicken Katsu baguette definitely not worth 15 dollars. The baguette and sauce were low quality, the lack of flavour, but I can say the Korean fried chicken was decent. Maybe this item wasn t the best on the menu?
The food was very greasy, over fried/over cooked. I left with an upset stomach and will not be returning. Not a real bao experience.
Great prices, great food, fast service, great portions, great variety. Great
A true hidden gem in Mississauga! Im so happy we found this place. The baos are incredible with a large variety of delicious fillings, and the Seoul fries are something truly special. If you like kimchi you will LOVE these fries. Weve ordered from them twice and both times have been amazing. Do not miss out on Bao Bar!
The food was so good and would recommend. The portions and food were amazing, it was seasoned well and there s a lot of variety. Will definitely come back to eat here again!
Dietary restrictions: Halal Chicken Available Food
Our food was delicious! We got the Siracha tofu, chicken Katsu and bulgogi fries. Everything was cooked fresh and scrumptious!
One of my favorite places for lunch! Dietary restrictions: Halal options Food : 5/5 |
Hot steaming and fresh Bao. Chicken cooked and seasoned to perfection. Recommend the karaage more than the katsu for spice lovers. Wacky tacky fries are a must ! Definitely pricey for the food portions but its a specialty place.
Chicken Wings was amazing.. Also ordered the duck and chicken bun. The ckicken was good. But Duck was below average taste.
Bao Bar is one of my favourite places to go, the Baos here (especially the Tofu and Chicken Katsu) are some of the tastiest things I have ever eaten. Every time I have gone in the food is piping hot and delicious. The staff at this location is also incredible, everyone I have encountered have been kind and helpful - highly recommend if youre looking for a yummy bite to eat in the square one area Parking: there are quite a few spots along the building
I absolutely love this place. This is a hidden gem for amazingly delicious Bao. Vegetarian options: The Avocado Bao is delicious. Food : 5/5 |
