Great food always.

Weve been coming to the Orchard for almost 30 years. Its a great neighborhood spot, that is frequented by friends and neighbors. The food is also very good and portions are generous, however its hard to understand how breakfast for 2 comes to about $40, including tax and generous tip. $40 for breakfast!!!

My family and I have come to the Orchard for brunch a few times this year and the service and food have consistently been wonderful! The portions are hearty but not overwhelming. Its a busy restaurant in a busy plaza, but its clean, welcoming, and weve never had to wait more than a couple of minutes to be seated. The home fries are delish!

Waitress forgot some of the ordered drinks, but when reminded, she brought them 10 min later. Coffee was not consistent, one of the cups was bad taste. Not all food came at the same time, i had to wait 8 more min. To get my order, other 4 were half way eating. Food was good. Service? - NOT!

Food was sub par. Homefries were not crispy whatso ever. The eggs were cooked more than desired as per my request. The waitress/chef forgot my toast. In my hunger I didnt care and ate my eggs and potatoes without bread. Pancakes were not fluffy. Waitress was slow for how busy the restaurant was. It wasnt very busy for a Wednesday lunch time. Asked if I wanted coffee, I said yes, didnt come back for 10 minutes. By that time I was finished and ready to leave. No tip for this service. Would not go again.

The food was horrible!!! I ordered the 12 Oz steak medium it came raw had to send it back she brought it back BURNT! It came with mash potatoes and they were so pasty think and tasted like fish and so old my grand son had ordered a side of mash potatoes and we had to return them aswell because they were just nasty! We got fries instead they we partially frozen and crumbly inside we didnt ear those neither! My mom got just a basic burger and her bun she could have used as a hammer no exaggeration! The waitress took a piece of the hard bread my mom was so turned off she couldnt eat the burger the waitress was so rude and said I cant help you as you ate half my mom said I had 3 bites its all the bread I had to pull off that makes it look smaller. My grandson ate nothing but half my burnt steak my steak had nasty arteries coming out it looked like worms!!! With all the issues she didnt compensate us for nothing not even a coffee!!! The waitress was upset she was given our table to begin with and she made that very clear! She was extremely loud and just rude! Never ever will I go back! There goes my childhood memories of good food! Not worth the prices or your time!!! Also they wouldnt let my 11 year old grandson use the washroom as he ran to the door because we had a long drive they stopped him at the door and said he had to order food first! We got to the door and he was confused and we asked what the problem was and they said he cant use the bathroom unless we order food! Hes a child for bloody sakes and we were coming in to eat they were so rude to him! That should have made us turn around and left at this point! Its funny how the OWNER will only reply to the 5 stars or 4 stars but doesnt sat anything to the people that a horrible experience and alot of the same issues!

Always a great place for Breakfast.

The dinner was quite crowded, but the staff was friendly. The service was satisfactory, although it was inconvenient that they only provided two creamers and none were available on the table, necessitating repeated requests.

I had the steak and eggs, and it was absolutely incredible! The presentation was spot on, and the steak was cooked perfectly to my preference. The service was outstanding as well, with every server greeting us with a warm, friendly smile. The whole experience had a nostalgic feel, reminiscent of classic diners from years past. It was truly a fantastic way to kick off the day!

I went to The Orchard once to get some takeout and it was a super hot day. While I was sitting waiting for my order the waitress brought me a big glass of ice water without me asking. Its little touches like that that make this restaurant great!

We can t say enough about this restaurant and the owner Tom and his amazing staff. We have the pleasure of working at the restaurant every year and every time we are there we feel at home. Tom treats us so well and the food here is just amazing. Highly recommend bringing the family.

Pancakes were doughy and greasy, home fries were mushy and flavourless. Cheap syrup. I would never come back, not sure why they re still in business. Very loud, screaming kids, inattentive staff even though plenty on shift. Very disappointed, thought I d been missing a gem, really sorry I chose to eat here.

Went there for breakfast on a Sunday and had the opportunity to sit outside. The service was prompt and food arrived quickly it was very efficient.

Honestly, wanted to make most of my labour day week off, but sadly decided to start with a breakfast here. The food was pathetic, it was as good as a rookie trying his skills with eggs and fries. The home fries and french fries were very disappointing, barely mashed potatoes tossed in a pan called as home fries and french fries were very soggy. Poor presentation. Lacks taste. Ridiculous priced for the portions. 4 chicken strips was 17 bucks and barely any salad. Sorry for being this blunt, it ruined the day for us.

What was once a neighborhood gem and Mississauga special restaurant has fallen from grace. This place needs a full makeover and a new menu with good prices. You get small portions for increased prices and decent to bad tasting food, nothing is good here anymore except the vibe and service.

Great place

Service was immediate; order taken and food served fast! And our breakfasts were great! I had an omelette (ham and cheese) that actually had a lot of both! My husband had a great breakfast as well! Our server, Liza, was great and all the staff work as a team - coffee comes around to keep your mug full! Wish we had this restaurant close to where we live! Would definitely highly recommend this family style but delicious restaurant!

I have eaten at The Orchard Family Restaurant, or as everyone calls it, The Orchard, since the early 1970s. The food is always great and served quickly. The service is excellent. I always recommend that people eat here at least once, but if you do, you wont eat anywhere else. Parking: Many spots to choose from. Kid-friendliness: I have yet to see any child not sit quitely and eat. Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible.

1- Place is clean; 2- Food quality and portion are good for the money and consistent across different visits; 3- Good and polite customer service; 4- Quick service!; 5- Probably the best anyone can get from a diner. Would I go there again? Definitely yes. Do I think they deserve the reviews they got based on what weve seen? Definitely yes.

My last (and final) visit was pretty upsetting. On the day that Scotiabank was down across the country, we couldn t get into our account to transfer money. We didn t know Scotia was down at the time, just that we couldn t get into our account online. We told our server that we would get cash at the Scotiabank that is just up the road and an older lady who was walking by replied do you have anything to give us to make sure you come back? What was I meant to do? Leave my 2000 dollar phone to hold a $50 bill?? Leave my drivers license when I had to drive to the nearest bank? A little compassion/understanding would have been great. When I came back able to pay my bill and leave a tip, the lady who angrily told me to leave something to make sure I came back, looked me up and down and then moved around me as if I was a leper. Pretty disgusting display for a place that allows hobos to sit in their seats for an entire day and only be charged one bottomless coffee. The French toast is literally a piece of bread dipped in egg. No cinnamon, no icing sugar not a care in the world. And they charge almost an entire 20 dollar bill for a completely unseasoned breakfast. The potatoes don t have the slightest bit of flavour, let alone any crisp. Many times I have asked if I could change my sausage for ham and it was never a problem and then all of a sudden it was. They ask you how everything is tasting and then leave you forever, never to grace your table side again not even to tell you that you pay at the front so you could be left waiting for the bill for a very long time. Arrogant, overpriced and overrated.

Simple. Wholesome. Quick. Yummy! Excellent quick breakfast choice near square one. Tastes better than Cora, Sunset or Eggsmart.

I dont know how this restaurant has such good reviews. Service was ok. Someone needs to explain the term fresh fruit to this place... the cut up fruit appeared to have been at sitting in the fridge pre-cut for ar least a couple of days already. For the price, I expected a larger quantity than a handful of cubed soggy melon

My boyfriend and I tried this place on a whim when we first moved to Mississauga and it quickly became our go-to spot for breakfast/brunch! We love it and we even met the former acting Mayor, Dave Cook, the very first time we came here. The food and service are incredible and the food always comes so quickly! Other places they have cut back on portions and increased their price as well . At this location you are able to senior socializing and enjoy their meal. It s a beautiful to see them in groups. Lots of parking but busy most of the time because of the location. It s located in the Food Basics plaza. Each table is very cosy and comfortable. Food is freshly made and tasty. They also have great selection of veg and non vegetarian dishes. It s a pleasant experience coming to Orchids again and again. Missing the old staff looks like most them the retired. I wish I could love this place but the food is not worth your hard earned dollar. Went in for lunch on a t Thursday afternoon. The restaurant is clean, bathrooms were clean, retro decor, few tables full. Service was great! She was very knowledgeable, told us the specials, friendly but the food is substandard food. Frozen French fries that taste like the inside of the smell of a freezer, definitely not fresh cut. The fish and chips were basic. More batter than fish and 2 small pieces of fish. The coleslaw had a refrigerator taste. The tartar sauce was very liquidy. I had the turkey club sandwich it was okay. I had to pay more to upgrade to rye bread and lose a layer of bread in my sandwich which did not make sense since there was an up charge already. I had asked for mashed potatoes and got fries but then they brought the mashed potatoes over which was nice. They looked great, tasted like glue though. ZERO taste. I tried adding salt and pepper. Had to spit it out. I just couldn t believe the quality of the food. When we asked for the bill, the servicer said oh you weren t hungry? And I had to tell her how horrible the mashed potatoes were. She tried to tell me they are delicious. I had to tell her they tasted like glue. $47 dollars later not worth it. We re still hungry. Parking: The parking lot is under construction so it s very packed and crowed. We almost got into an accident because a car was coming towards us when he had no room to turn. Very tight. Wheelchair accessibility: There were parking spots right in front.

I had the first and worst experience here. Desperately needing to use the restroom for piss, I was rudely told by the staff that I had to buy something first which i had never heard in Canada. This policy is incredibly inhospitable. I ended up leaving without making a purchase, frustrated and uncomfortable. Definitely not a place Id recommend or ever return to.

Went for lunch with family and we had a great experience here The food was really good, staff was really fast and the restaurant was clean. Only complaint is that it was pretty loud when we went, as there were tons of people talking, kids screaming, sounds of plates, etc. Almost had a headache I would recommend coming for breakfast, or maybe for a early lunch (brunch?), when it is much quieter

Its been 30 yrs since i have been. Still the same, great breakfast and service

5 stars for history and memories of many gatherings here. My only gripe is the variety of offerings. Theres really not a lot of choices but just a different blend of same staples - eggs, toast, pancakes, etc. May need a refresh of menu. Also, when our large group was there last, our attentive attendant just surprised us by recommending repeatedly a 15-20% tip. Thought that was odd and out of place! Not sure if wed go back again for these reasons. But certainly great place to try if youre looking for a hearty all-day breakfast that can accommodate big groups. Just make sure you make reservations first! Parking: Depends on the time. Plus lots of road traffic due to intense road construction going on in the area.

Orchard Family Restaurant did a fantastic job with accommodating 25 of us. The servers were very attentive, quick & pleasant. Everyone s food was served hot & delicious. Good quality food, fresh & tasty. We were seating in the upper level of the restaurant which was very cozy for all of us. Will definitely keep coming back. Thank you!

I ve been going to this place ever since I was a kid and I ve never been disappointed! It s a landmark old school Diner! The food is always fresh and delicious. Service is fast and friendly. It s clean and always busy with clientele. My eggs Benny were perfectly cooked! If you are in the heart of Mississauga you owe it to yourself to go.

The waitress was so rude and r that she never listens to what I say and the food had hair on it plus she was rude when a gentleman asked her to use the washroom and she assumed that he was going to do drugs in, even he told her that I m a lawyer and please don t assume something like that. So bottom line bad food bad customer care and after all they expect a big tip after all this bad service

A very nice experience like an old-fashioned diner making delicious classic breakfast foods. Had the Cinny combo. It was suppose to come with two eggs, but one over way egg broke so they gave me a replacement so all good. Food came out fast, good hot fresh coffee and orange juice. Breakfast sausages are some of the best I have had.

This is your typical family diner. Large food portions, lots of variety, decent prices, and warm atmosphere, and kid friendly. Wait staff are always friendly and attentive. We received our meal quickly even though it was a busy holiday Monday. Coffee was fresh and the food was filling. I couldnt even finish my plate. No bells and whistles here, just hot tasty food.

I don t like to post negative reviews but this calls for one. Very disappointing with what I m guessing is the manager! Our family has been coming here for over 30 years. We have always loved the staff and food, however today my husband was served raw pork. My husband let the waitress know and she was trying to get him to have it re cooked. He didn t want it after that. It was pretty gross to have eaten raw pork. Some lady that had just come into the restaurant with her parents and kids, at least I m guessing she s the manager, came at our table with attitude because my husband didn t think it was right to have to pay for a meal that was raw. All she could focus on was that he ate half of the meal so he should pay for half. Had she come up to the table with a different attitude and a shred of customer service and apologized, he would have definitely paid for the meal. It was not about the money but the principle. Instead she let her ego get the better of her because my husband said he was not going to pay for it, so she came back to the table so angry and told us that she comped the whole meal, does not want our business and we can leave, said we are banned from the restaurant and Merry Christmas to us? Who does that? The right thing to do would have been to apologize and comp his meal. Instead this moron said he would have to pay for half of the meal?? She said it, in a tone like we were trying to get away with something. She embarrassed us in front of the other customers because she didn t like it that he said No to paying for half the meal. We are in the food business and would never make a customer pay for raw food. So for $20 she lost the restaurant great customers and great tippers for her staff all because she is an A hole person in the wrong line of work! What lesson and example in service and decency is she teaching her children that we re watching and listening to the whole interaction. Poor kids! She should be embarrassed for herself. I m actually embarrassed for her and the restaurant. Great work Karen!

Cozy place, real American style diner. Located in busy plaze. Little bit overpriced. However, the portions are decent size. The plenty of parking and all-day breakfast menu is definitely my favorite. Good coffee and desert menu!

The food service in the people there is all very nice. I would recommend going with family or friends. The specials there are always unique and nice to eat.

I enjoy this classic style diner. I have gone there only for breakfast so far but they have lots of other things available as well. The staff are great; its clean; and the prices are quite reasaonable.

Good breakfast place, I recommend coming as early as you can to avoid crouds. This testaurant is oretty bug and get very hectic later in the morning. The staff was good and efficient, dishes were served quickly despite waves of new people coming in. The food was okay, I wasnt very impressed but it wasnt bad at all. These type of restaurants are a dying breed, replaced by cookie cutter breakfast places. It is good to see these family owned type restaurants still around. Super laid back and just a great vibe to hang and have breakfast with friends.

Excellent customers service by the staff member who served us. Waited about 10 mins to receive our food. Great tasting meal. Wasnt too big on the presentarion of their home fries, but, presentations do come in different forms. Reasonably priced, so leaving a tip was a pleasure for the service given. Over all, well dine there again.

Went to the place, from knowing many years ago, sat down to have breakfast and half way got swiped with cigarette smoke, as someone was standing next to table, told the on duty person, that was not acceptable, having to deal with smoke, in this age of time, was met with response of someone smoking outside and you know windows air leaks and more. She had no consideration to rctify the situation, as much the server the apologetic. Left poor taste, shall we say, Time as such, restaurant business over all, are struggling to survive in todays economy and anyone that does, go out to eat, is surely spending hard earned money, to be able to enjoy outing. Fabulous staff and great Pancakes!!

I read great reviews about this place and just wanted to take my family out for a treat. However the whole experience left a sour taste and left us extremely unsatisfied to the point that wed never come back. Whether this serves any importance to you readers but we are an Asian family. Let me break down our experience for you. We arrived at 10:45am, we sat down and after about 5 mins of deciding what we wanted, we waited anothet 30 mins for our server to come to our table. As I was about to give our order, she interrupted me and asked me what we wanted to drink, which we replied water. At this point, the table beside us flagged her and instead of telling them to wait, she decides to go over to them and fulfill their request. At this point, we still hadnt even placed our order and it was now over 35 mins! Our waitress brought over water after 6-7min but then left without taking our order again. It is now 11:25am. Were now hungry and annoyed because we felt like we were being ignored while other diners were being taken care of. We felt like we gave enough time for the diners staff to take our order and decided to leave. My wife went to speak with someone to explain that this was unacceptable. Her excuse was that Ive been so busy and said that if we sit back down and she will take our order now. At this point, we had already decided to leave due to her poor customer service. You might wonder why Im bringing up my race. We were the only Asian family in the diner. My friend (Caucasian) came in after us and had already been served and eaten halfway through her meal with her family. This is by far the worst customer service experience Ive had. I cant believe the reviews and after seeing the food that arrived next to us, this place isnt something really to come back for. What a disappointing experience.

Absolutely junk food.it seems like all their dishes are precooked and microwaved as you order the soup was an absolute joke the main dish was just a pile of dog food fruit deserts from a can. I really dont know how is this place doing business. Your main entreis will arrive to your table litterly 4 minutes after you place your order,you tell me what does that tell you. My server was the best, she was kind and knew exactly what I wanted pancakes I would imagine would be more softer but they were very cheewy..overall a great service I would recommend again.

I went there - nice place, good food, service with good portions. Price is also good. Sometimes it gets crowded especially weekends. Better to get there earlier for breakfast or brunch. Food : 5/5 |
