Come here often for oysters! The oyster quality and size varies but I still enjoy them and come back for more. (Photo of oysters is 2 plates of 2 dozen which i combined into 1 - these were delicious) The carbonara is delicious and I often enjoy the steak frites. Was a bit disappointed with the steak this time - it was smaller and tasted different than normal
An absolute gem of a place. Highly recommended. My wife and I ordered the KFC to start followed by the Salmon Benny and the Japanese Carbonara. Soo good🤤 Japanese Carbonara --> Distinct flavour, a bit spicy, many ingredients, ... surprisingly delicious (recommended). Salmon Benny --> Probably the best one I have tried our of tens of places around the world. The wedges it comes for were to die for as well.
I love the Wilcox! This is a default restaurant I typically go to when I can’t figure out where to go because it never disappoints. Can be casual but also been here for special occasions. The oysters are so fresh and bonus points for their buck a shuck nights. I go here maybe once every 2-3 months and I enjoy the food here every time! Great for date night as well!! 10/10 recommend!!
Fresh octopus 🐙 😎 The rice in particular to the jerk dish was really different and good. Amazing proportions. Jerk chicken, calamari, salmon croque (idk what it was called) was great. My cocktail was nothing special, the dragon fruit one. Will be back.
I’ve been going here for years back when I lived in Mississauga. Really love their food, atmosphere and service. They’ve always been very friendly and attentive. Our most recent visit we went for my brother in law’s 40th and we had a huge party. Despite the chaos, their service was still superb and quick. All the food and drinks we tried were great! I forgot to take a picture of most of it because we were preoccupied, but we really enjoyed the Octopus and Tomahawk the most. Definitely recommend this spot! 😊
The atmosphere was nice, we sat at the solarium in front of the bar and go to see the rain. Service was good, the waiter was very friendly and diligent. The food was ok, we asked for hamburgers and sandwich to be safe however we asked of the Nashville chicken sandwich and it was greasy, hard and tasted like fish, which grossed me out. The hamburgers were ok nothing in particular and I upgraded my fries to truffle fries but I couldn’t taste much the truffle. My husband and son upgraded the fries to Mac and cheese and once again not impressed. I will go back for a drink but not to eat.
This is our usual spot when in Mississauga and only place with oysters. Bar and cocktails are great - food is solid - and service is attentive. Their summer promo/specials are a great deal right now - so get it while it lasts!
I discovered this restaurant on TikTok and decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the service. I went for dinner with a friend, and although we had a reservation, the place was surprisingly not busy. We wanted to sit on the upper level, but unfortunately, it was closed off for reasons unknown. We started with two cocktails, which were perfectly balanced and not watered down. We began our meal with the roasted peppers dip, which was fresh and amazing. The truffle fries were generous in portion, and my friend's fish tacos were great. Our server was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. In summary, it was a great dining experience, and I will definitely return to try their brunch menu.
I had high hopes for this place, but unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. My wife and I ordered the tomahawk steak, it arrived cold and we didn t even get steak knives, which is just ridiculous. The drinks were watered down with way too much ice, felt like they were trying to nickel-and-dime us at every turn. The front room where we were seated had a draft that made our food cold even faster. On top of that, the service was terrible, and the overall atmosphere was just off. After spending $300 my experience was bad food, bad drinks, bad service won t be coming back.
Food was excellent and the drinks were also amazing. I really enjoyed our meal here!
Amazing experience
Food wasnt the greatest. Large group one waiter. Very expensive for what you get.
Had a great time at Wilcox. Walked in on Wednesday night without a reservation and they were so friendly and accommodated us. There was a DJ playing music and the atmosphere was great. Our server took a bit longer than normal to tend to our table, but it was clearly busy, so understandable. After ordering, everything was out in a timely manner and we were consistently checked up on afterwards.
Nice restaurant with a great atmosphere. Ordered a burger, and it was very good. Pasta dishes were also very delicious. Abit tricky to park and locate the restaurant.
Clean place. Friendly service,,,,, but Sierra was a little neutral, and sharp. Waiters are great people. Oysters were good and fresh, octopus tiny burned on the ends (understandable). Steak was ok. On my taste too much spices. Overall I will recommend this place for friendly atmosphere and good food quality.
My husband and I have been coming to The Wilcox since we start dating nearly a decade ago. When considering options to host an intimate reception for our daughter s baptism, it was the first place that came to mind and as always, they did not disappoint. The general manager, Michael, and assistant general manager, Robbie, were incredible responsive, flexible, and kind while we were coordinating for weeks leading up to the event and Robbie himself came to greet us when we arrived. The food was incredible and all of our guests (majority who have never been here before) said that there wasn t a single menu item they didn t enjoy from the appetizers to the mains and even the drinks. The entire serving team was great - they were quick to help out with anything we asked, always had a smile, and handled our group of 20 amazingly!
Food and ambiance are incredible. Whoever makes the cocktails also clearly has talent.
their mac and cheese kind of lacking flavour unfortunately
Jerk chicken meal was a really a great authentic taste of the islands. Service was amazing and we enjoyed the ambiance and environment.
Bone marrow and steak tartare: the tartare needed salt and was underwhelming, not enough bread; Coconut shrimp: flavor was there but came out burnt, it was replaced for us; Grilled cheese and tomato soup: worst dish. Soup was lukewarm, and the taste wasn t there, the bread of the grilled cheese was not crispy and one half was burnt, I couldn t it eat. The presentation was also bad the cheese totally fell out, had to eat with fork and knife. They did offer to replace it but we did not have time to stay. Service was good, and we were comped one beer, but a very unimpressive experience.
It was a lovely evening at the Wilcox! The Atmosphere is so nice. I didn t know they have seating on the upper level, hopefully next time! The bread and butter was enjoyed by the kids while the adults enjoyed the KFC for apps. Our Main dishes were hot and fresh to taste. The server was so sweet and kept checking in on us. I Absolutely love the vibe at this restaurant. Only feedback is that I wish they had more choice for desserts! We were celebrating and received complimentary churros which were enjoyed. Thank you for that!! Overall a wonderful evening at this gorgeous place!
Everything went well the service was amazing! Bacon little extra crispy thou. I would definitely come back!!!! Food
Went here on a Tuesday, mainly for oysters. Oysters were delicious. The lobster poutine is absolutely delicious. The Mahi Mahi tacos were nothing special. Overall, a great experience, the staff is very friendly and helpful and the overall vibe of the restaurant is enjoyable.
Beautiful restaurant. The short rib parpadelle was a miss unfortunately, weirdly spicy and the noodles were all broken. Stick to the burger and sandwiches here, they were amazing
Thank you for the very nice service guys i really loved it! Thanks jamie the new girl and grace
A bit crowded. But the food, drink and atmosphere are very good. Be ready for a larger bill if you drink.
The service was great but the food did not meet up to expectations. I had to spit out my meat and vegetables because it was burnt and tasted bitter. My mum ordered Mac and cheese and there was barely any cheese/bacon. My dad ordered the truffle chicken sandwich and it had a sharp tangy taste. The restaurant really needs to work on their food taste and quality. I was highly disappointed and I won t be going back.
Great menu, lots of selections, but the food we got was almost all the wrong temperature - my wife s Mac and cheese was room temperature, as was her chicken sandwich. My chicken sandwich was good, but the Mediterranean salad wasn t worth the upcharge.
Love this place and have been coming here for years. Great food and atmosphere.
Alejandro severed us, He did a great job and was very attentive. I had the miso maple old-fashioned as my first drink. It was a very well-rounded cocktail. The food was great as well. Overall, I would definitely recommend trying this place out. Parking: A free lot on both sides
One of the best places in Sauga. Good food, excellent service and house like ambiance
Giving these guys a 5 star because I ve always enjoyed coming here, but the food isn t as good as it s been in the past. A little extra love in the food would bring it right back though. Service, cocktails and atmosphere are always great though! Still forever my date night spot
Excellent services from the staff that was serving us for a birthday dinner before our next activity. The food is amazing. KFC is the must have in there. I personally love the Japanese Carbonara
I got the fried chicken sandwich and it was not tasty at all. There was very little sauce on it. I ended up getting food poisoning later. Could have been just a bad case but not a pleasant experience. Would not recommend. Also the rice mushroom dish was way too salty. The restaurant has a vibe if you like drinking and that is your focus. In terms of food, not that great. Kid-friendliness: Not really.
Service was amazing. Great food. Overall great experience.
I had a truly disappointing experience at The Wilcox. My friends and I visited for dinner, and unfortunately, it ended with food poisoning for all of us. The food tasted off, and within hours, we were all feeling seriously unwell. To make matters worse, the service was horrendous. The host was unfriendly and unprofessional. Upon entering we let the host know about our reservation and he began berating us on the number of people in our booking. I definitely wont be returning, and I urge others to think twice before dining here. Your health and a pleasant dining experience are simply not worth the risk. On top of all this; the price of the clearly reheated food is just not worth it. Head to Scaddabush or Joeys if yall want a nice dining experience.
The service was not the best in the business (wasn t the worst either, just expected better overall plus it was my birthday brunch). They were quite slow and it felt like they forgot you were a guest. I ordered an avocado toast - the avocado was not only quite sparsely spread on the slices of toast (the toast was so hard to crunch down on) - the avocado mix looked like it came out of a tube - meaning it wasn t freshly cut avocado or guac mix. Disappointing to say the least. It wasn t the worst service neither was it the best. If you re not vegan, vegetarian etc. and you visit this establishment- order the platter that comes with eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon and toast- it honestly was not the best tasting but you ll get a decent bank for your buck (size wise).
The food here was a big let down. The portions were large, but the quality and taste of the food was lacking. The service was friendly and the decor is nice, but not a place I d return to.
Absolutely love this place. Service is amazing and the food and it s close by to square one Parking: Parking lot in the front
Exceptional food and service
Awesome customer service and overall quality dining in the heart of Mississauga, great date night spot for the atmosphere and vibe. Vegetarian options: Awesome accommodations Dietary restrictions: Awesome accommodations Parking: Great parking options
Came to the wilcox to celebrate a milestone with my partner and unfortunately received the worst service we have gotten in years. Not only did it take almost 20 minutes for our server to greet us after we sat but once we were done eating it was almost a 30 minutes wait until a server came by to ask if we needed anything and took another long wait for the bill. We could understand if it was busy and it was dinner rush, but while we were waiting and trying to flag the staff down they were distracted by talking to each other at the bar and sit and drink with people at the bar. The food was decent and it would ve been an okay dinner but the service was so bad that it felt like we were being purposely ignored and it was extremely uncomfortable, we just wanted to leave as soon as possible. For the price you pay, I suggest going else where if you re looking for a good dinner for a special event or just a casual meal. The place may look nice but the service completely destroys the entire experience, it s best to spend your money else where.
Simply put. One of the greatest places I visit. The staff is top notch. Steak Fritz medium well is amazing! The gentleman who always helps me has been top notch. Can t say enough good things about this place. I strongly suggest going during the week. If you go on a Friday, it s a little busy, but if you go during the week, it s very consistent and the food is always great.
The eclectic style menu with Japanese and Peruvian inspiration makes for some delicious dishes. Nice drink offerings as well.
Vegetarian options: They have limited but all amazing vegetarian options . We have tried almost all veg options on their menu and never been disappointed !! Food
I have never had a bad experience at this restaurant! The servers are always polite and attentive. The food is always amazing and the atmosphere is always welcoming!
Never coming back, trash food, trash atmosphere, trash service. There was no music and very crowded too many loud kids running around. The burger was burnt and fries were nasty. Buns were soaking in butter and super oily. Staff was slow only 2 servers. Terrible experience please don t come here if you want to have a good time or ur celebrating a special day. Extremely overpriced and not worth it.
Food was delicious
Best gastropub in Mississauga by Square one. Great place for a drink or dinner. Their brunch is delicious
Their brunch is on point. I do recommend having halal options as the audience will enjoy.
Food is amazing here. Try the Japanese Carbonara or the Fish and Chips!
Service, food, ambients, cocktails .everything has been perfect. We ll come back for sure
Amazing food; amazing service; amazing everything!
This place is always a hit and never a miss. My partner and I love having our date nights here, and we almost always share the bone marrow tartar to start with. I ve had several different dishes here, but my highest recommendation is their steak. It s unmatched. Their drinks are also top tier. 10/10 Can t wait to try their brunch this weekend!
Cute little place in a convenient location with a great beer selection.
Fabulous food. Honestly, such a pleasant surprise. In an area littered with awful strip mall restaurants these folks are doing it right. Service was attentive as well. Had the octopus, the confit duck chaufa and the mac and cheese. All of it was fantastic but the chaufa really stood out.
Good food and great service. We found the music to be very loud. Everyone was yelling over eachother to be heard, further adding to the noise. Wait time for food was a bit long as well. But appetizers tired us over. Really hot where we were seated as we. Can see this dining experience being overwhelming for some people. Dietary restrictions: Lots of gluten free, vegan, and non alcoholic drink options to choose from
Food options are abundant and upper class, oyster special on tues-wed is nice, although sometimes youll get lower attention due to it. Prices are a bit higher but all in all worth it considering it. Definitely worth a try for a date night
What an amazing place Ive been here three times and every time it has been amazing the food the atmosphere the vibe is truly one of a kind absolutely love it here the bone marrow platter is amazing Im actually now thinking about hosting our corporate Christmas party here such a great place to just have a drink and relax or go out on a date definitely my five-star place
The food and drinks were tasty however, management and the Head Chef must be on vacation. Ive had more lobster in a lobster roll at Square one. Same could be said for the poutine. The poor servers were severely understaffed especially on half price oyster night. Drinks were good but again, theyre smaller than normal. Hopefully things get back to normal after summer vacation. ALSO if you go during the week be prepared for loud and obnoxious finance bros of all ages. The music is so loud you have to shout to have a conversation and the dude bros shout even louder.
Cool place great service and tasty foods
Food was really salty. Atmosphere super nice and cozy. European stile. Service: girls very nice. Although inside not very clean, especially washrooms.
We decided to spend a special birthday dinner at Wilcox, as we d read good reviews online. The food was pretty decent, some dishes better than others. But I d warn you to eat slowly, as we found something in our jerk chicken one member of our party almost choked when we uncovered a deep fried bread tag! We were very surprised that a place that was supposed to be highly rated could let something like this happen. The staff were receptive to our concern and offered us a free meal substitute, but it s completely unacceptable for this to happen in the first place. Just thought you all should know!
Good food and drinks
Spent me and my girlfriends 6 month-a-versary here. Got the Tandoori lamb shank, Korean Lasagna, Lobster Poutine, and Churros (complements of the restaurant). Good food, good service, good atmosphere. Food a bit pricy for the portion but the ambiance and service makes it worth it. Though not overly more pricey. Just a bit more expensive than Jack Astors or Moxies and of course there is more emphasis on the food quality here.
Unfortunately the food wasn t as fresh as it should have been. We ordered Grilled Branzino and Chorizo Mussels Fettuccine. Mind you they both looked great but food smelled pretty bad and tasted a bit funny. By the end of the day we both had nausea and upset stomach.
I will give it a 0 .Food took forever .we were a party of 10 everyone felt crammed Everyone not just us were complaining the restaurant was freezing air conditioning on blast .Not to mention smoking right outside front door smell was coming in restaurant as we were close to front door. Service was terrible kids running around restaurant pulling each others pants down parents inside drinking. I wont go back .And Definitely would not recommend this restaurant. Waste of time and money
The service was really bad. It was cold. The food sucked ( was under cooked to oily fries were to salty) and they put us right by the door and people were smoking and that s all you could smell while you were eating. It s a very small place lights were flickering ( kids will be kids) but control your customers over all horrible waste of money i will never go there again!
Had the tomahawk, definitely a shared meal, its massive. Very good, varied between medium and medium rare. Still tasty. Also try the booze and butter. Ashley was fantastic, especially taking care of our large group. The oysters are on the small size but were fresh and tasty.
The food was great and the servers were so kind. Will visit again!
I will not go back Food was almost awful. No flavour or spice in the jerk chicken, rice overcooked. App we got tacos and again, flavourless, stale tasting. Friend got the duck, greasy, horrible. Kids got the burgers, first time these boys didn t eat burgers and fries. Not sure what is going on or who was cooking but went on a Friday night and spent close to $500.00 and it I honestly completely regret going. Make matters worse, it was for a birthday so I felt bad. On the bright side, we got free churros and they were delicious. Waitresses were really kind and quick.
I recently had the chance to visit the Wilcox Gastropub in Mississauga, and I have to say, its a pretty solid spot. The atmosphere is really nice - it has a modern, upscale gastropub vibe that creates a comfortable and inviting dining experience. The menu offers a good variety of elevated pub-style fare, and I was impressed by the quality of the food. I started with the crispy brussel sprouts as an appetizer, and they were cooked perfectly - crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a tasty garlic-parmesan seasoning. For my main, I went with the beef short rib, which was fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with rich, savory flavor. The service was attentive and friendly, if not quite as polished as I might have expected for a gastropub of this caliber. But the servers were knowledgeable about the menu and did a good job of meeting our needs. Overall, I thought the Wilcox Gastropub was a really enjoyable dining experience. The food is elevated pub grub at its finest, the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting, and its a great spot for a casual but elevated meal. Id be happy to return again in the future.
Great date night restaurant. The main atrium has an indoor/outdoor feel with how the ceiling is glass. We got the daily special drink and sharable, they were awesome. The burger was incredibly juicy and the cesar salad tasted like they made the dressing in house.
Very innovative menu, their fusion dishes rock, always keeping it interesting, been coming here for years. Never had an issue with service so far either.
Staff was super sweet. Some oysters were a bit on the smaller side but still delicious!
A beautiful place to go with friends for a drink or a romantic meal with a partner. Service was quick and staff was very friendly. The food was great and the atmosphere was very nice.
Went for dinner at this local Gastropub. Oyster were fresh and was on special that night. The fish was cooked to perfection. The duck was a bit dry along with the rice it came with. Great atmosphere!
I found another favorite spot that offers an amazing deal on oysters. This pub-style restaurant offers 1/2 dozen oysters for $8 & a full dozen for $16 every Tuesday!! I literally just go there for that amazing deal.. but have tried other stuff of their menu such as the bone marrow tartare with grilled toasted bread and the jerk chicken dinner with rice and peas. The bone marrow off their sharable menu is delicious and the jerk chicken dinner altho its good ...its definitely not authentic and would truly disappoint anyone from Jamaica/Caribbean if they were to order this dish.
If your expectations are an average bar, then this place will probably excel in that regard. For bar food, its certainly better than average, just not amazing. The house beer Wilcox lager was quite good in an average way. Our table was wiped by a waiter before seating us. The same waiter had trouble removing the menu because of how sticky he had left the table. Its a little funny and a little yucky. Im okay with that at an average bar. The desert was delicious, but only because it was loaded with sugar. We all know what sugar to your brain. My expectation is that a high quality Gastropub would be able to produce a delicious dessert that doesnt rely on sugar as the driving force. I feel like the gastro prefix should be reserved for places a little bit more special than this. Theres nothing wrong with being just a pub with above average pub food.
Always a good time here. Osyter Tuesday and Wednesday is my favorite
Very pricey
Delicious fusion food. Tried everything and never disappoints!
Great place. Nice snd cozy with great food and drinks.
Too beer
Great service and food.
First time here after seeing it featured on Instagram as a great date spot- and it did not disappoint. Very Canadiana/modern ski chalet-like interior and ambiance. I had the Buratta, bone marrow steak tartare and espresso martini and everything was divine. Would definitely be back and would love to try the Spanish octopus! Parking: Large parking lot as its in a little corporate plaza.
Good hangout and food spot. Love the drinks here as well
Some menu items are a hit or miss. Went for my wedding anniversary. Oysters had something sharp in them that made me cut myself. They tried to say it s normal I didn t argue but I know it s not. I ve eaten lots of oysters from various places and never has one hurt me. Lol. The liver app was horrible and even tho my husband liked the fish tacos, I didn t. We did however LOVE the coconut shrimp. Best in the world. I m excited to try other menu items next time because they sound good. Service was amazing. Seating was extremely crowded, like dining all together. Practically no space between tables.
Came here for a drink with a few friends. Great service, nice atmosphere
We had amazing time here, foods was tasty and loved that Wednesday half price oyster night!
The Wilcox serves delicious fusion dishes. We are always excited to try new things on their menu, but we used to come often for our two favourite dishes: the Spanish Octopus and the Korean Cornish hen. These two dishes have changed to slightly different dishes. The Spanish Octopus is unfortunately downsized (see a comparison photo of what used to be a half octopus... Vs todays 1/4 octopus) and the garnishes and pairings are still delicious but not as elaborate as before. Although I do prefer the KFC (Korean fried chicken) appetizer over the Cornish hen dish as it is a less spicy and less messy to eat. We still come for their delicious food (and cocktails) however the value($$) has changed, so we do not visit as often anymore.
Really great cocktails, gracious dinner portion sizes. Not to mention their smores cookie is amazing! One of my new favorite places <3
Early evening dinner of lamb shank with my wife and son
Service was great. I like that they have a variety of cuisines on the menu. I really liked the Korean Fried Chicken and Coconut Shrimp. The Birria Tacos lacked flavour; I expected way more flavour. Overall, good though! And great music.
Best fish dish Ive ever had.
Nice atmosphere, good price for oyster on Tuesday.
I was very surprised and pleased by the presence of products that were native to me. There was even a traditional paska on sale. Huge selection of seafood, especially compared to London where its surprisingly hard to find.
This is a fusion restaurant with mixed and hybrid Italian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Spanish, British, French, Mexican, etc. You name it. It is labeled as Canadian, which is fair as Canada is a fusion of those cultures. Food is well made and innovative. The place is well decorated. Ambiance is nice, although a little hard on aged eyes when reading the menu. Price is reasonable but not cheap. There is a beautiful garden outside. There are only 2 downsides, although not a problem for us, are small/close space, and parking close to entrance can be hard to find at times. In fact, there is no way to drop off at the door. Some walking (20+ m) is required. Vegetarian options: Many choices and clearly labeled
This place discriminates on people who don t know better , had oysters here in the past and it was phenomenal, told my girl about it who wanted to surprise me and stopped by for take out. What they packed for her was shameful, some oyster shells, some with no oysters- they should be embarrassed, check what they pack before you leave
JP was a fantastic server, always checked up on my girlfriend and I even when it was busy. Oysters were amazing, we took on the after 5pm special and was totally worth it! The steaks were absolutely delicious, had the grilled flavour to it, and lamb shank just came right off the bone was mouthwatering. The atmosphere was nice and dim seemed to be a very relaxed environment.
I love coming here. The resturant is so pretty. The service is great! The food is always yummy!
Worst dining experience ever! Arrived at 9:13pm and was seated upstairs. We got the ball rolling ordering drinks and appetizers which were good. We then ordered our mains at 9:30 and sat there hungry for AN HOUR watching everyone else get their food but us! No one checked on us , no manager came, NOTHING! We left at 10:40 without getting our dinner and we were left clueless to what happened and why we didn t get our food. This was my first time coming here and I am dumbfounded.
Perfect for a Sunday brunch/lunch. Good list of cocktails and appetizers.
Staffs are friendly, but the drinks and food are a little expensive
Have a lot of friends rave about the Wilcox, came in on a Saturday night got seated, they forgot all about us they were busy after 39 minutes we got up and left because being a chef and restaurant owner I knew we would be waiting way to long for our drinks and food. Some other time perhaps.
All around 10/10
Atmosphere was good. Tried the KFC, pork belly, Japanese carbonara, churros and chocolate tart. Food was average, nothing special. Service was good. Found a hair in my food and the best they could do was take a $7 drink off our bill. Disappointing. Won t be coming back.
Came here for the Oyster special and food quality was a lot different compared to when we went back in 2022. Was seated in the corner room where you can see the foil vents looking like a 200 year old building. Ordered the Mac and cheese with bacon and felt like I was eating just straight up macaroni pasta. There was literally no cheese sauce added as shown in the pic there. Chef literally just sprinkled some cheese, baked it, and called it a day. My friend who ordered the Japanese carbonara barely had any bacon bits on his order, total rip off. Oysters were quite small but still was pretty good, was prob the only good thing about our food. Service was great and food came reasonably fast hence not giving this a one star. Would probably not come back again.
Their cocktails and mocktails are beautifully crafted
Such a great experience and food. Definitely a recommendation and repeat.
Id choose to go out in this place to get together with friends and family for this fine dine experience
Amazing food and drinks. Beautiful interior. Always a good time.
Upscale dining in what looks like a house turned restaurant. A menu offering English, Caribbean, Korean dishes that would rarely inspire confidence- yet the Wilcox does each justice. Next time you consider going to your favorite chain restaurant, give the Wilcox a go instead. You wont regret it.
I want to give this place 6 stars.
Went there for birthday celebration (table for two), but the food were pretty disappointing than we expected. The to share menu are great, we ordered Tartare & Bone Marrow and octopus. They taste alright. But for the Truffle Mushroom Pappardelle, It tasted super salty, so we can t even finish it. Also the lamb shank is below average level and I think it s not worth the price. The service is okay, but I wish they can be better. Overall, okay place to give a try, but won t come again.
My husband loves the spicy fried chicken sandwich here, he often came to the Wilcox on his lunch break and always got the same thing - kudos to the chefs for holding the same standard for so long! I thought the mac and cheese was so good and it was my favourite! 3 stars for atmosphere as it was freezing near the front entrance (where we were seated) and it looked like the area was under renos. Id probobly not seat anyone there before things are fixed up as it sucked sitting there with my jacket.
Really enjoyed the steak, tartare, Japanese carbonara, and kfc
My girlfriend took me to the Wilcox for my birthday at Miss Rose grade, so this was exceptional. However, I have the lamb little bit more seasoning. The drinks were great. The pasta was great. The wild ball was great sliders were great. You guys should check it out. It s not bad.
Pretty good place for the whole family We couldnt hear each other, the music is too loud Food
Food was mediocre the day I went in. Olivia was an awful server. Completely ruined the vibe. The food was good, albeit expensive. We had the octopus, fries, and the fried chicken. Olivia flopped on the drinks, slow to her section and just unprofessional demeanor. We asked many times for more water but she just brushed us off. I swear I heard her talk badly about coworkers so I dont want to know the drama behind the bar. From what we saw she is rude to her coworkers. Clearly someone who doesnt like her job. Maybe hungover, maybe something else. Hated the experience entirely. Absolutely unacceptable behavior. Let her go!
Overpriced. Midtier food you could make at home. Chicken sandwich (nashville) to spicy. No warning, couldve used a skull or flame next to it on the menu for how spicy It is. Like it was made on the hottest place on earth then coated in reaper sauce. Steak was just a unseasoned slab of meat, sure there was sauce on the side but it was definetly not good enough. Tasted like a piece of coal lathered on a cow straight from the pasture. Gratuity was built into the bill with no option so you feel the guilt when in reality you get a glass of water poured for you and a plate brought to you and taken away. Overall just overpriced food that doesnt satisfy the tastebuds as well as other establishments. Better off at chucks or Freds bar and grill. Cheaper but more tasty food.
Great food, gluten free options and a very cool building. Very unexpected when you drive up, but I was jealous of the rest of the party who could order from the whole menu.
We ordered the truffle fries, wild boar and pumpkin rigatoni, and Japanese carbonara. The quality of the ingredients and mixture of spices are very obviously superb. However, the Japanese carbonara was quite oily and was too salty. The noodle had a good consistency though. The wild boar had a better balance of flavours and had more complex and deeper flavours. The pasta was cooked perfectly, however this dish also ran a little on the saltier side. The truffle fries were well cooked with a somewhat crispy exterior and soft interior. They re not quite evenly seasoned and it s one of those things you can try once and wouldn t need to again. Overall the service was a bit on the slower side, not well coordinated. We got asked 3 times if we ordered yet by 3 different waiters, but on the bright side our cups were never empty. The ambiance was on the darker side but I think this is dependent on where they place you in the restaurant (there s like 3 floors).
Full marks for the Wilcox. Went on a busy Wednesday evening. Service was fantastic. Food was excellent. And bonus great deal on oysters!!
First time in awhile. Havent been for years. STILL a great place to dine in!
The food here was, and always is VERY delicious. Hats off to the chefs and I highly suggest it to everyone. The prices are very good too. 2 meals, 2 drinks came to 130 after tax and tip. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because it was absolutely FREEZING in the dining area. Its right next to the door and I literally was freezing I had to put my jacket back on eventually. But aside from that - great food and great place.
Tristan our server was knowledgeable and provided great service. The coconut shrimp is amazing as an appetizer. The Canadian burger was good and the smokey bacon on the burger is amazing.
Stunning Gastropub. Incredible atmosphere and great service (especially the manager -Justin). Cant wait to go back
Always great experience at the Wilcox. Greaters, servers and bar tenders are always great. Nice spot to chill if you want something different.

Great food and service. Nice night out on the patio
I simply love the whole set up inside, beautifully designed and service is outstanding everytime I go. Staff is super friendly and atmosphere is superb.
Always great. My got too
Wilcox GastroPub exceeded all expectations! The atmosphere is cozy, the service impeccable, and the food divine. Their creative menu changes periodically and everything taste great! they are well known for their cocktails. A must-visit for food enthusiasts seeking a memorable dining experience and a great spot for a date night!
Bartender was excellent
The Wilcox is always great! One of our go-to spots for celebrations. The oysters, beef tartare with bone marrow, and roasted cauliflower steak were all fantastic. As was the service. Vegetarian options: The cauliflower steak was delicious. Dietary restrictions: The wait staff always ask about any dietary restrictions.
Super busy for dinner but amazing seafood pasta dinner and great local craft beer.
Food was incredible. We had the Octopus, Korean Hen and Chicken sandwhich with truffle fries. Great ambiance, excellent service. The Gochujang w hint of honey on the chicken was insane. Food sat in the belly in the best way afterwards. Blown away
Very good place for a date night It has 2 floors . Not that big but decent size. The tables are a little small but manageable Things I tried were fish n chips : amazing , max n cheese : okeyish , spicy chicken : good Overall a good place for a weekend dinner Food : 4/5 Service: 3/5 Ambience: 3/5
Food was amazing so were the drinks. The pork belly sliders was very flavourful and the octopus was soooo tender.
Great experience with food and great atmosphere. The food was excellent and the service was superb.
I love this place, great food, great service, beautiful atmosphere
Food wasnt great. Tried almost every item on the menu. Need to improve on the seasoning. Every dish taste similar to one another. Would not come back.
The best food, atmosphere, and staff.
Great food and cocktails
LOVE the Wilcox! Have been coming here for years, the food is amazing! The drinks are so creative and delicious! All my friends and I love coming here for oysters and shareables! Had an exceptional experience last week on Halloween with Veronica H as our server. She was incredibly attentive and we bonded over the octopus being both of our favourite dish. She recommended something I usually wouldn t order - the Birria Tacos - and I was skeptical but I decided to give them a try and they were DELICIOUS! So good! The Wilcox never gets old, the new menu additions are fantastic and we will keep coming back!
I went to Wilcox and Robbie was our waiter and he was very knowledgeable and provided great customer service. He made sure we were happy and satisfied and provided a lot of knowledge about the menu
Very nice Nashville chicken sandwich! A very good spot for hanging out after work
This place is a hidden gem of Mississauga. The food was absolutely perfect. Every dish tasted incredible and unique. The cocktails are fun. The wine list is small but there is something for everyone. Looking forward to my next visit.
rude
Celebrated my birthday at this restaurant and despite the disappointment of the discontinued lobster poutine, the truffle fries, pork belly sliders, beef marrow, and Japanese udon (cant recall the exact name) made up for it. The pork belly sliders were a standout, and the cozy yet atmospheric small space added to the overall positive experience.
What a great dining experience! Food was presented very beautifully and tasted delicious !!! The service was top notch and the bar has a very cozy atmosphere. Drink cocktails were very unique and good beer selection.
Went there with a large group for a work dinner, and Thomas was our server. Our group was made up of senior managers from a large restaurant brand. We have eaten at a LOT of restaurants. Thomas was in the top 5 servers I have ever been served by. And the food was fantastic!
This place is a decent place. It had good energy and the staff were friendly enough. The portion sizes are great compared to the average restaurant. The food wasnt flavourful however. It was a bit bland. I ordered the lamb shank and my guests ordered the rice and peas and chicken.
A very slow moving operation. Here at Wilcox. Big difference from before. Food came out in pieces and burnt. Oysters are extremely dry as they sit on a fridge shucked. What a shame. Nice place. But terrible service and the food is not worth the price 3 burnt tacos. No side. Not even a pico on the side $21 . Fish tacos. Has about a square inch of Cajun = burnt fish. will not return. Would much rather go elsewhere
Great service and very tasty food.
Food and cocktails are really good! From apps to dessert, you wont be disappointed.
The food here is pretty good. Also their beer selections are good too. The hosts and the wait staff are amazing here. They do a good job. I would definitely come back here again! But not for beers as they are ridiculously priced here.
Their house lager is nothing to rave about. Great pub food and other selection of beer
Finally, a place where a family can go with kids thats NOT a chain restaurant!! There is no kids menu, but we made do and shared plates. Make reservations during the holiday season, the place is rammed. We asked our waitress to provide recos, and everything she recommended was a hit. I think its important that staff has tried the menu and she was well acquainted and made suggestions for our kid which were helpful (ie: KFC bites without sauce etc.). The tacos were my fave and made traditionally - not standuo hard shell. Hubby faves were the coconut shrimp and burger (patty well done and generous with bacon). Also ordered 9oz striploin and mac n cheese to share - steak came charbroiled medium rare, should have ordered chimmichurri sauce to pair. Mac n cheese is creamy and full of bechamel so beware- but the panko keeps it from being too mushy (kid approved)! We also had a few of their gin and tequila forward cocktails, and they were much too easy to drink (I would ask for less ice when ordering). Would definitely go again and try sharing the tomahawk with friends!
Just had the sliders here and, wow, theyre absolute perfection! They were cooked to juicy perfection, and the flavor combination was on point. The novel blend of exotic flavours creates a symphony of taste in every bite. The buns were soft yet sturdy, holding everything together flawlessly. A definite must-try for slider enthusiasts!
What a disappointing experience for my 60th birthday. My husband visited the venue several weeks ago to make sure that it was suitable and made reservations for 6:30pm. At that time, he was told that he did not need a reservation by the lady at reception but he requested one since it was a special occasion. We arrived at 6:20pm last night and were told that we had to be out within an hour and fifteen minutes due to a group event. We were stunned since we had a reservation and no one had advised of a time limit. We were told that we were late, that our reservation was for 6pm. I asked if they would even be able to turn around our requests within that time. The response was that there was no guarantee but we had to leave within an hour and fifteen minutes for the group event. It was evident that the person at reception was the owner given his arrogant and dismissive tone. We decided to naturally go elsewhere but would like to make sure that you are aware of our experience. He could not accommodate a couple due to a later group booking and did not have the courtesy to call and advise us in advance. I would not support an establishment like this. Be aware that the same can happen to you!
