Today , 18 December 2024 ,we went there for dinner .The service was great from start to finish. Our server was polite and accommodating, ensuring every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. We would definitely come back .
FOOD WAS SO FRESH. I went around 6pm for my dinner on a Saturday and got the best service. Love it highly recommend to Gujarati lovers! Farsan was on point. Even sweets tasted delicious. Just felt like i was transported back to India.
A must try place for authentic Indian cuisine. The food is delicious and the service was excellent. Our server Maansi was simply awesome and made our birthday celebration dinner extra special. We will definitely be back. The only thing to be mindful of is that the portion sizes are small so order accordingly.
So sad to see what was once a fantastic restaurant now becoming one of the worst and overpriced restaurants in the GTA. Lets start with the servers. One server was well dressed (in a suit) and polite. The other came to us wearing a cap with casuals. I had to check with him if he actually worked here. He was in a hurry to clear our plates and even get us to order mains after he got our apps. He was not aware of the menu at all and we had to guide him. The food was either burning spicy (paneer tikka) or old (dahi ke kebab). I was so disappointed with the dahi ke kebabs that I asked him to return it to the kitchen. I am sad I did not take a picture of it to show you all. The kaala khatta mocktail was made in such a way that I believe they expected the customers to do half the work in making the mocktail. The casual server told us, while serving our mocktail, “stir before you drink it”, all that was missing was a stirrer. One of the biggest drawbacks of this place is that it is not friendly to babies and new parents. No ramp, no diaper changing station and no family room for mothers to feed their babies. When asked the head server (the well dressed one), “Where can I change my son’s diaper?”, his response was “Not sure”. I had to give him the idea to allow me to change on one of the sofas on the side. Despicable hospitality and even worse quality of food and beverages. To the management, you really need to look into your staff’s hospitality skills and also consider making your restaurant friendly to babies and new parents. Very unfortunate!
I wish I could give 0. I have placed a take out order from maharaja early in the evening(around 6) so I was expecting something fresh. However, The dal makhani was extremely salty and paneer labadaar had burnt onions and stale. Garlic naan was stale. Giving the benefit of doubt, I called the manager to explain and he want to be drive all the way back to show him the daal. Can’t believe this is the customer service they stand for and call themselves a boutique restaurant. Horrible experience and It’s inedible. I am permanently done with this restaurant.
Amazing ambiance, excellent service by hostess Meenal, and delicious dishes made our occasion celebratory. Wish the portion sizes were generous for the price and naan's a little inexpensive! Overall, it was a great dining experience, and this isn't our first visit!
We had an amazing experience at this fine dining Indian restaurant. We started with the Awadhi Gilawati Kebab, which was superbly flavorful and served on tiny rotis, adding a delightful touch. The welcome drink was so refreshing that we ended up ordering it separately, though I can’t recall the name—it’s not listed on the menu but definitely worth trying. The dahi ke kebab was beautifully presented and appeared to be air-fried, which meant it was light and almost oil-free—a feature I particularly appreciated. For the mains, we ordered Jeera Rice, Koh-e-Awadh, Navratna Korma, and pudina paratha. Everything was delicious and notably less oily than what you typically find in other restaurants. However, one thing that puzzled me was the Koh-e-Awadh. The menu described it as a duo of lamb shanks, but we only received one, which seemed a bit mismatched with the description and didn’t quite justify the price. That said, the taste was excellent and not greasy, so we enjoyed it nonetheless. The rose lechee mocktail was fantastic and a must-try. Despite the restaurant being a bit on the pricey side, the quality of the food and service made it worth it. The only downside is its location; it's in a plaza and doesn’t look like a fine dining spot from the outside. However, there’s ample parking, and the staff were excellent. We’ll definitely return whenever we’re in Toronto.
Good food, great service, and a proper Indian restaurant. The service is proper Indian style where servers pay attention and give their best. The food is amazing and authentic taste too. I would surely mention though that the quantity in relation to price is a bit less than other competitive Indian restaurants which is a drawback. But good selection on menu overall good taste and less quantity is how I would sum it up.
The quality has gone bad over the years. It was one of the best restaurants in GTA but not anymore. I ordered mild chicken biriyani but they gave me a wild spicy chicken biriyani, we couldn t eat that at all
Delicious food. Nice ambiance. Friendly staff .
Gitamsh was amazing he helped us a lot with his recommendations Good and service was outstanding Highly recommended Food : 5/5
We ordered lacchaa parantha which was quite burnt. The appetizers were less portion. The cocktail barely had alcohol in them. In terms of amenities, there is no diaper changing station for the babies.
Food was very bad. Oily and spicy. Gave me and my wife an upset stomach.
Had a really nice ambience. That s why we chose to come to this place. However, a little overpriced. I was shocked to find a pistachio with a shell on inside the maharaja gulabjamun we order. I was feeding that to my 3 year old and she almost vomited as the shell broke inside her mouth when she was trying to chew the jamun. When i told this to the server she said I ll check with the staff at the back and took the broken shell pieces with her. Came back saying this has never happened in the past. I m seeing this for the first time. Totally irresponsible behavior towards the customer. They even charged us for that gulabjamun. Would never come back to this place. I did like the interiors and overall vibe but i definitely did not like the food when it is such high price you paid.
I went with my family to Maharaja this evening to celebrate my son s birthday the restaurant was almost empty with just 3 tables occupied. The guy with the blazer asked me my name phone number email and then he seated us in the middle of the restaurant with a big round table where we could not communicate with each other plus the bartenders blender was loud and the big family right behind us were louder. We requested for our table to be changed to which the arrogant manager bluntly refused. Entire restaurant had only one waitress who was running from one table to another. Our starters were messed up i had no choice but to leave the restaurant after the 2 starters and go to Avani where they never fail to impress me. No wonder the restaurant was empty.
We had very good experience with gitansh. He is very welcoming and helpful. We really like food and interior. It gives you very royal feeling
Vegetarian options: Veg is available. Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair parking and entrance is there. Food : 5/5 |
Great food great service and beautiful ambience
Food was great but portion sizes need to increase. Especially the naan which was so small we had to keep ordering repeatedly. Given the higher prices than other restaurants we should not have less quantity. Quality of the food was excellent and for that alone it is worthwhile. Address the quantity issue and it goes to 5 star.
Very average food for the price.
Mansi attended to us & we were impressed by her service. She provided good advise in choosing the food items for our event.
Best food in town. Mansi took great care. She is the Best.
Had dinner here last night..absolutely awful food ..had eaten.here a few years ago and it was so good but was shocked at the quality and the taste of the food .other than the presentation the food was AWFUL .we ordered Galouti Kabab ..was nothing near what a Galouti Kabab should taste like and Murgh Tikka which was dry and tasteless ..the Butter chicken was too sweet and the laccha paratha was a joke and uncooked..absolutely DO NOT waste your time or money at this restaurant..even after telling them the manager did not even bother to come and talk to us ..and it was overpriced and expensive moreso because the portions were ridiculous..complete waste of money..service in terms of the timing of the food was also pathetic I am now seeing the other reviews.and other than sweet talk and sweet messages in answer to the shocking reviews by a lot of people there seems to be no .mprovement
Overall experience was excellent staff very friendly and accommodating. Food was awesome Thanks Gitansh for your hospitality..we will be back
Server with glasses very generous and must try this pink drink(chai) !
We were served by Mansi. She was pleasant amd efficient. Vegetarian options: Good veg options Food : 5/5 |
Food is worst. Price is too high for the quality and the quantity. Only ambience is good nothing else. I never suggest this to anyone
I dont have option to give zero rating for this restaurant & one of the worst restaurant in Mississauga. What ever the price we are spending we are not getting that much quality. I had biryani here and taste is worst & i can only prepare better than them. I ordered murg kabab which is 22$ and that small 6 pieces of chicken and not cooked properly. I dont recommend this restaurant to any one. And ordered garlic roti & it came like papad very hard to eat (charged as $7) Please skip this restaurant from your list. Such a worst restaurant
If youre looking for good food, never choose Maharaja. They have the worst food Ive ever experienced, and I dont understand how people gave them five stars. We ordered some of the most expensive dishes, and they were terrible. The frozen spring rolls and dahi ke kabab were disappointing; Ive never had anything like that in my life. Please work on your quality. Everyone wants to spend quality time with friends or family, and if youre serving food like this, youre wasting their time and money.
Amazing experience. We came here for lunch and it turned out to be really good. Mansi was so attentive and cheerful, she served us really well. The food quality and quantity both were really nice. All fresh and tasty food. Must visit for a royal dine in experience. Vegetarian options: They have lot of vegetarian options
Gitansh bro is really amazing ... food is 10 on 10 service is really good the actually feels like maharaja which means great king.....definately recommended.
Great food Great service. Worth it.
Very good food, and excellent service from Minal. A little pricey but worth it for quality of food and customer service
Very nice service, atmosphere and amazing food
Amazing food. One of the best places for fine dining. Love it
Highly recommended
One of the most amazing restaurants in the west end. Great food and an amazing variety of dishes by region in India Food
We recently visited The Maharaja for a group dinner of 12 people, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. The service was incredibly slow, with long wait times between courses and staff who seemed overwhelmed and inattentive. We were excited to try this place based on the reviews, but the lack of efficiency and care left us all disappointed. It was clear that the restaurant wasnt prepared to handle a larger group, which greatly affected our dining experience. We expected much better and wont be returning.
We recently hosted our daughter s wedding lunch at Maharaja , and it was absolutely perfect! The food was delicious, with a wide variety of dishes that pleased all our guests. Every course was beautifully presented, served , and the flavors were outstanding. Must mention the drinks, cocktails by the great Akshay. The service was top-notch; the staff was attentive, professional, and always had a smile on their faces. They made sure everything ran smoothly, allowing us to relax and enjoy our special day. The team lead Geetansh and his team, all made it perfect.
Recently organized a lunch for a gathering of 20. Everything turned out perfect. Great food, wonderful service.
Mansi was very professional and patient. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was elegant.
Had an amazing dinner the food was delicious with beautiful ambiance. Thanku Mansi for the great service.
Took my mom for her birthday yesterday for lunch, the restaurant manager Gitansh went above and beyond for us , he welcomed us with refreshing shots , service was excellent. The food was fantastic, spiced well, my compliments to the chef . My overall experience at the restaurant was top-notch service, good value and high quality food . Parking: Allot of parking in front of the restaurant.
Masni very nice food is good
The best fine dine restaurant in canada in terms of food and ambience!
This review is just for Service. Please keep some small bills and cash to return back to the Customers. I paid my bill via cash to your staff. And the person on the cash counter with No etiquettes, Customer Service skill, full of arrogance did not wanted to return my Money back. At least if he would had nice Customer service skills i would had tipped him to make his day. Attached my bank statement receipt to help you. Just to be precise this was take out delivery and had to pay my bill via CC because your staff said we do not have any cash/ bills to return your money back.
The food is delicious here. Mansi was amazing to serve us.
An excellent fine dining experience with superb food, attentive service, and a lovely atmosphere. Mansi provided exceptional service.
Excellent service and very tasty food. Went there in group of 17 people and I would say that, Geetansh (manager) managed the event very professionally. Food was served promptly, all the cocktails and drinks presented very beautifully.
We had a great evening. Delicious food and service. Must try mocktail drinks. Curries were amazingly well cooked.
We went there for my mom s birthday dinner on a Thursday evening. Although we reached a bit late, closer to the time of the kitchen closing, Mansi our wait staff, was very patient with us and let us take our time to decide on the menu items. She even gave us a few out of menu options which we decided to go with as well. The food was fresh, paneer soft, and delicious. The ambience of the place is very relaxing where you can enjoy special moments with your friends and family.
Great service and food was delicious
It is a gem of a restaurant. They are representing true Indian hospitality with very flavourful food and special thanks to Mansi to make our celebration more memorable by your excellent service. Surely will come back for great food and experience
Food quality gone down
I recently dined at The Maharajas and had an exceptional experience, thanks to our wonderful waitress, Minal. From the moment we sat down, she was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great dining experience. Minal was knowledgeable about the menu, provided excellent recommendations, and made sure our orders were accurate and timely. Her warm and welcoming attitude made us feel right at home. She was quick to refill drinks, check on our table, and accommodate special requests with a smile. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was pleasant, but what truly stood out was the outstanding service provided by Minal. She made our visit memorable, and we will definitely be returning soon. Highly recommend asking for Minal when you visit! Thank you, Minal, for making our meal so enjoyable!
We just celebrated my dads 65th birthday at The Maharaja. From the time of booking to the completion of the event, we had an amazing experience. Gitansh, the restaurant manager is absolutely amazing. He patiently answered all my questions and concerns both over phone and email. He went over the whole party plan and also suggested menu items best suited for our guests. He made us feel so comfortable hosting a party at their venue. On the day of the event, everything was so smooth. The guests were welcomed well and given welcome shots on their arrive. Appetizers tandoori chicken and Shami kebab were amazing. In main course, we especially loved chicken labaddar and malabari fish curry both extremely well done!!! We got gulab jamun for dessert which was done to perfection. Our guests were so impressed with the food and their service. Their service was very gracious and they brought in all the courses in a very timely fashion. They were very accomodating even when some of our guests arrived late. Even the owner, Mr.Manoj was involved during the event to make sure everything was running smoothly and even served some of our guests. We couldnt have a chosen a better venue to celebrate my dads birthday. If you are planning an event, go ahead and book it at The Maharaja.
One of the worst restaurant I have ever been to, would not recommend anyone to go there as they charge too much for small portions and the food is not even that tasteful as hyped. Customer service was good though. I was going to go for zero star if possible but one star is for service only.
Fine dine in wonderful establishment ! Loved the presentation and the flavours in dishes
Best place for aspiring chefs. We mistakenly ordered from their DIY menu instead of the fully cooked restaurant menu. Who doesnt love an amazingly crafted meal kit. We ordered the methi malai murg and think they forgot to add some of the DIY items (Taking one star away for it thats fair). Luckily for us we had them at home! As stated in the title it had a lot of malai (heavenly cream for the uninitiated) and decent amounts of the murg (chicken) but methi was lacking. The rest was left to our imagination and skills. This is what we tried- some red Chilli powder, some turmeric, hint of tomato paste, dry mango powder, coriander, a decent amount of cardamon powder to give it that maharaja experience and kasuri methi to make up for the missing amount (inflation we can all relate). Here are the results- our DIY results were decent couldnt compete with any decent restaurants dish in the GTA. Thought would message the Maharajas chef here for their input on how to improve. P.S We ordered two meal kits. The yellow is our DIY output and the white cream+ chicken the meal kit from Maharaja.
Fine dining at its best
My family and I were recommended to go to Maharaja and we are sure glad we did. The food was delicious. We ordered the Murge Lababdar and the Qasr E Pukhtan, the spices were wonderfully brought together. The naan were so soft. Beautiful interior and great service. Cant wait to return to try some other items from the menu.
Maharaja Restaurant in Mississauga truly stands out as the best in Indian cuisine. Their commitment to maintaining exceptional food quality and authentic taste is unmatched, making every dining experience a delightful one. Whether youre a fan of traditional dishes or seeking something new, Maharaja never fails to impress. Highly recommended for anyone craving a genuine taste of India!
We ordered $140 worth of food from Uber eats. Got the lababdar chicken, laal mas, daal makni, bhindi, garlic naan, roti, and rice The food was overly salty, drowned in 2 Inches of oil, and filled with red chili powder and had absolutely no depth of flavour . Just bland, oily, salty, and spicy because of the laal Mirch powder. Not cool to serve this type of food as an Indian, to Indians. Naan, roti, and rice were good.
Food is amazing. Mansi was great at helping us choose unique dishes. Will definitely come back again.
Mansi is ausome and recommended food suggestion. Thanks Mansi for wonderful experience at Maharajah . Vegetarian options: Mushroom dish
Mansi, our server was wonderful, kind, and very attentative. Hands down the best Korma I ve ever had. Probably the best Indian food my wife and I have ever had. We would highly recommend to anyone to give The Maharaja a try.
Very good service by mansi Vegetarian options: Alot of variety Parking: Enough parking spots
Vegetarian options: The Maharaja has a good choice of vegetarian options. Food
First of all the food was sooo tasty! The employees were super nice like soo nice the food came out so quickly. The food presentation was neat and creative..The non veg appetizer platter was so delicious and good portion..Dessert was mouthwatering..It definitely deserves a 5 star rating. Special shout out to Mansi who took care of our orders so brilliantly, she was very professional and kind to my kids ..
Best Indian food in Canada. Customer service is also exceptionally well.
Got the lamb bryani and lamb shank. The food packed flavors I never even knew existed. This has set a new bar for me and ruined bryani from any other places.
WORSE.. WORSE ..WORSE WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER EVER EVER. I never write review for any product or service but this is really worse experience. This was my WEDDING DINNER review. Me and my husband booked the package for 29th June 2024. We booked in advance so the restaurant had the enough time to prepare for this day. We reached at restaurant with our own cake. We gave it to serving person. We all settle down. It s almost 10 mins we didn t get the cake so I get up and asked the manager about the cake and he said give me few minutes and at that time he asked do you want me to start prepare appetizer, I was socked that we already settle down for 10 minutes and you were waiting for me? We cut the cake and after 15-20 mins we got the appetizer. We got 2 dish of appetizer for 8 people. In 1 dish there were 2 different type of appetizer so every person got 2 pieces after waiting for almost 25 mins. We repeat the order which Again took 15 mins. All of my guests were starving that they eat cake between appetizer and main course. Again wait for 15 mins and got main course. There were 3 type. We got 1 dish of each main course between 8 people. So basically everyone got 1 spoon of main dish. Again we repeat order which took another 15 mins. When all this happening, manager didn t even comes once to us to ask that is everything ok? Do you need any thing? Me and my husband stand up at least 7-8 times to ask that how long it will take to get food? It was so embarrassing. This was my wedding day. They care about there food to waste than giving proper service to people who paid $1300. We were 23 people and there was only 1 person to serve us. If you will give me excuse that restaurant was buy then listen, I booked you in advance. I pre booked the menu so that I don t have to wait 15-15 mins to get food. Me and my husband literally didn t eat anything. While we were paying, manager asked how was everything, gave him feedback and he said we need time to prepare. I booked you 2 weeks before. Normal people can wait 5 mins, 10 mins but in whole dinner we waited almost 1 hour combine. If I can I give -0 rating. WORSE.. WORSE ..WORSE WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER EVER EVER. if you invite me for free I will still not come to your restaurant.
We were a larger group celebrating an engagement and birthday. Given the special occasion we really wanted good food and ambiance and they did not disappoint! The service was the biggest highlight! Our waitress was amazing. She was polite, attentive and even joked with us a bit. The decor was elegant and clean and the complimentary non alcoholic shots were a bonus. Would definitely recommend going here!
Amazing ambience and delicious food. The staff were incredibly attentive and made sure we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout our meal. The highlight of our dining experience was the sikandari raan. It was perfectly cooked and flavorful. This dish alone is worth the visit, and I cant wait to return and explore more of their menu.
Good
Delicious and traditional, reminded us old taste of India . Must try if you are food lover. Best fine dining Toronto area or can say best in canada.
The Maharaja was an outstanding experience The manager worked with us tirelessly doing multiple tastings, listening to all our needs and created an amazing menu. Our friends are still talking about it.. So thank you, Gitansh and thank you, Maharaja For our next event, we definitely going there Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: They really listen to your Dietary needs Kid-friendliness: Definitely kid friendly
I recently had the pleasure of experiencing catering from The Maharaja, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food prepared by the chefs were not only delicious but also beautifully presented, reflecting the restaurants commitment to quality and authenticity. Working with Manager Gitansh was a breeze; he was incredibly accommodating and ensured that every detail of our catering needs was met with professionalism and ease. His attention to our requests and his proactive approach made the entire process seamless and enjoyable. I highly recommend The Maharaja for catering services. Thank you to the entire team at The Maharaja for making our event a success and leaving a lasting impression.
Mansis attentive service made our dinner truly enjoyable. The food, expertly crafted by Chef Mahavir, was delicious and served promptly. Gitansh, the manager, ensured everything ran smoothly, contributing to a fantastic dining experience. Thank you to the entire team for their exceptional hospitality!
Pathetic! One word suffices for the experience I had today. Lousy stale food with no flavour at all!!
Amazing food and brilliant service by Gitansh. He recommended laal maas and we loved it! Highly recommend this place! Definitely coming back regularly.
Gitansh has help us so well, such an amazing ambience, good service and we drove all the way from stoney creek to the Maharaja for exceptionally goood food. Always look for Gitansh he will help you in the best possible way.
It is a good place with variety of food options in both veg and non veg. Good service and clean. Mansi has served us well.
I just ordered a lababdar, it was extremely spicy, ive been ordering the same thing from them for years , it was mild and tasty but this time its nothing compare to how it was before , it was disgusting spicy and the chicken has fat when I called them to complain about how spicy it is they said no it comes like this hot and spicy , no empathy I would give 0 for customer service and 0 for food, too bad this was our favorite Indian restaurant in Mississauga
The food was well done and very tasty. Would happily recommend this place.
If you are looking for some good restaurant for family or specific to date this is really good indian place but little more price. Service is 10/10. Food is 8/10. Ambience 10/10. A good dine in experience. Should try moketails. Vegetarian options: We tried subz miloni and it was really good. Paneer Tawa should try if you paneer lover. Hara bhara kabab is good to have in appetizer.
Recommend place to visit for fine dinner. Great service, got complimentary non-alcoholic shorts at arrival, atmosphere was really calming. Taste of food can be better as compared to the price, as we expected the food to be exceptional in taste because of the quality of service. And washrooms can be more cleaned.
The food was not that good as compared to the prices. I expected more from the restaurant. We ordered rara Ghosht which was overcooked. Panner lababdar was too salty. I have been to better and more expensive places but they have been top notch. No complaints about rest of the things service was excellent.
Vegetarian options: Very good vegetarian food Food
Poor Service and bad attitude by the boy at reception having beard
We were a larger group celebrating an engagement and birthday. Given the special occasion we really wanted good food and ambiance and they did not disappoint! The service was the biggest highlight! Our waitress was amazing. She was polite, attentive and even joked with us a bit. The decor was elegant and clean and the complimentary non alcoholic shots were a bonus. The only critique is that the portion sizes were smaller than what you d usually get for an Indian restaurant but for the quality and freshness of food the smaller portion sizes were not a big deal. Would definitely recommend going here!
Food was awesome and hospitality and ambience was amazing. Ill definitely recommend it!
The Maharaja impressed with both its flavourful food and attentive service. Vegetarians, look no further! The paneer tikka, with its perfectly cooked cheese cubes in a rich and flavourful sauce, was a true delight. The dahi ke kebab, melt-in-your-mouth vegetable patties packed with fresh herbs and spices, were another vegetarian winner. If youre seeking a refreshing accompaniment to your meal, their aam panna mocktail hits the spot perfectly a tangy and cooling drink made with mango nectar. Overall, The Maharaja offers a delicious and satisfying Indian dining experience. Wheelchair accessibility: There were stairs, and I didnt see a ramp. Dont know if they offered it at another gate. Also the washrooms were 1 floor down in the basement (again no idea if there was an accessible washroom)
Maharaja Restaurant in Mississauga, Ontario delivers an exceptional experience with its delicious and authentic Indian cuisine. Highly recommended for food enthusiasts! Our server, Mansi, was an absolute delight. She expertly guided us through the menu, offering wonderful recommendations that truly enhanced our meal. At her suggestion, we tried the Tandoori Chicken Spring Rolls, and they were simply divine a must-try! We left thoroughly impressed and eager to return. Everything about our visit was fantastic.
Minal was an amazing server! Provided detialed infomration about all of the menu items and even gave us a tour of the resturant and described the themes of the art and how it relates to the food. Everything is very well thought out and planed. Id recommned this place if youre trying to impress!
Food was horrible , cold and portion sizes atrocious. For the prices they were charging we expected the flavour to be good and portion sizes to be reasonable. Mini sized portions and not worth $$$. Never go back again
Minel was most attentive server. Food was delicious. I don t think it can get any more flavourful. Atmosphere is very beautiful Good for special occasions, dates and brining your guests. Very elegant. Highly recommended !
Food was mediocre, service was mediocre. The ambiance was nice, However the price point didn t match the, flavour, portion size or the service.
Had an absolutely great experience at Maharaja. One of the few true fine dine Indian cuisines in Toronto. We visited Maharaja during my wife s birthday and they ensured we had an unforgettable experience. Special thanks to MINAL who was really caring and also made the evening special with complimentary dessert and a cute firework with it.
Did take out from Maharaja this past Saturday. I ordered dal makhni, navratan Korma and palak paneer. The dal had a burnt taste, which couldnt be hidden with the cream that was put in it. Im not sure what to say about the palak paneer. The palak was barely cooked. I can make better palak paneer and I dont know how to cook. The navratan korma was ok. Not what I expected, but the gravy was rich and creamy. Im extremely disappointed to say the least because I have had their Lal maas and it was excellent. Not sure if Ill go back.
Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options! Food
The food was good, clean and tidy environment, good atmosphere. Good service from Mansi She really took good care of us, she was patient and her smile made my evening. Thank you
We recently Dine-in with family and kids Food was superb, flavors were on point, Mansi was our server and made it extra special with her warm hospitality and accommodate our allergic requests too.
Went to have dinner at maharaja on my daughter s birthday. Food was very good but a bit pricey. Galouti kebab was awesome but only 4 pieces. If you want fine dining I would recommend maharaja. The ambience is great and best part is calm and cozy inside. Lal maas was awesome.
Absolutely horrendous service by the servers. The whole restaurant was empty and no reservations but still asked me sit in the most awkward table. This got changed on my insistence however, the look of disgust and rolling of eyes continued by the sever. My question to the owners is why would anyone come to pay for premium dining experience and look at that? the servers were least interested to serve and work. Absolutely 0 customer service skills. had i been the owner i would have fired all of them there and then. Never coming back. Also they need to understand there are a zillion new spots in Mississauga who actually serve great food with excellent customer service and smile. They also managed to exchange the bread with other customer. They simply went ahead and exchanged it right from the table. There were only 3 guests in the restaurant however they still managed us to give cold food. obviously not fresh. Will report them to health and safety department. Absolutely not done.
will be reporting to food and safety for getting served stale food without zero hesitation by Mansi and other girl.
The service was top notch by Mansi and the food is simply delicious. A memorable dining experience.
Mansi served our table. Quite pleasant personality and a desire to serve with smile Enjoyed food and service Food
The food was okish. Waitress missed one dish from the order. Service was poor. All in all not worth the money.
Good food :-) we had dinner. The butter naan was. The best of all
This is fine dining at it s worst! Came to dine in with family, very very disappointed with the quality and quantity of food. We ordered a non veg platter to start with and none of the dishes on the platter had flavour. The chicken was raw and the mint sauce on the side was just so watery on asking the server to replace the sauce she said this is what they serve .. I mean really Maharaja is this your service standards to the guests ??? The sauce was as thin as water and you clearly can make out it s deliberately made thin by adding water .. but why? How do you have the audacity to serve this to your guests at the prices that you charge ? Atleast provide quality! The main course quantity was really small just a small portion that would be good for 2 people .. it s just too overpriced for the food quality, quantity and service. Not at all worth the hype. Won t be coming back for sure. You don t mind spending a few hundred dollars if you enjoy the food but this certainly was a really bad experience. Would definitely not recommend to anybody especially for special occasions unless you want to ruin them!
We went there without reservations but they accommodated for us. The atmosphere was great and the amazing server Mansi explained the influence of different regions in India that shaped the menu. Very pleasant experience!
Great food, very authentic Indian with great flavors
It was my birthday party. Enjoyed Chef Lavjeets special platters. The food was great. Server Meenal was very professional. The whole team gave a prompt service. Under the management of Gitaansh, overall we had an amazing time. Would like to visit again.
Very expensive!! Veg is still better but non veg dishes were horrible. The fish was stale.they won t let you sit beyond 2:30 and won t even mention it when you reserve the table. All in one worst place to go Food
Don t come if you wanna eat good food in this restaurant because you will get just decorations on the plates, like they are charging so much and giving you nothing, we came here to eat and they are saying this is fine dine in, then what? You will just charge people so much and in return you will show your art on plates. Join some artists work not run restaurant. He owner, give some damn food to people, they came here to eat not to see decorations. you are spoiling the title MAHARJA please change the title or change your profession. I know you have to pay bills but do some business not to cheat people.
Excellent food and dining ambience. Have been trying out diff veg options with every visit. Vegetarian options: Positive: Dal Makhni, Paneer tawa masala, mirch ka salan, veg biryani, dum aloo Negative: paneer lababdar, paneer tikka in starters
Have eaten at this place multiple times in person and also ordered through apps. Although à la carte is very good, lunch thali has been disappointing. Overall very good experience and worth it!
We made a random stop here, but ended up really liking the food here. The rotis were soft and exactly how we liked them, and the chicken dish was extremely flavourful.
We went there for a dinner and were greeted and looked after very kindly. The food was nice. Overall like it.
Food was excellent, service is best and atmosphere is light and cozy. One of the best indian restaurant I ever visited in GTA. Chef Lavjeet got the skills!!
Worst food you can have in the GTA region. All reviews here are fake. Please avoid this place if you dont want to get sick. Also, extremely costly.. $100+ for frozen appetizers and bad mocktails. Food
Legitimately the worst Indian food that Ive had, it was frozen food from Loblaws. My friends and I felt sick. $100 for frozen appetizers was an unfortunate experience.
Good food and good service from waitress Mansi!
A perfect place for food lovers specially if he loves classic Indian food. Great ambiance, excellent service, friendly staff with perfect place to enjoy with friends and family. Food
Fantastic restaurants with delicious Indian food. Our server, Mansi was fabulous and helped us navigate the extensive menu to put together a group of dishes that complemented each other and addressed our groups dietary constraints. Kid-friendliness: White table cloths but we felt quite welcome with our teens.
What a wonderful dining experience. The food was incredible, every bite was full of flavor. The presentation of their food was outstanding, you can tell that each dish that is prepared and served is done so with care & passion. Mansi was our server. A big fist pump to her. She took time to explain the resteraunt and significance of the artwork and themes. She did an awesome job of making sure we felt welcomed and well fed!
The food, atmosphere, and especially the service (thank you, Mansi!) is unlike any other Indian restaurant Ive visited anywhere in the world. The attention to detail, level of care, and warm hospitality make you feel deeply appreciated and welcome as if it were your own home. I wont hesitate to drive back out here from Hamilton again. The Pink Chai is the most exquisite tea Ive ever had!
February 22 update: As usual I went for lunch with my client. Most disappointed. The prawns were not de-veined and were over cooked. The overall food has become the run-of-mill type and I will never again go to this place. Plus, it is not value for money.
Visited today for dinner, the food, service and ambience are absolutely worth trying, fabulous! Attended, Parth and Mehak, were really polite, knowledgeable, and up to the mark in terms of service! Great job guys, keep it up!
Bar tender was too nice. And rose Patel drink was awesome.
Most wonderful fine dining Vegetarian options: Veg platter Food : 5/5 |
Very disappointed their standards with food and service has dropped drastically. Hair in food, hair on linen serviettes, tough chicken in the non veg platter. Had to ask for water refills even though it wasn t busy on a Wednesday night with only 2 tables still such a poor and disgusting experience.
Food was charred and stale
THE MAHARAJA offers a delightful blend of authentic Indian flavors and regal ambiance. From the moment you enter, the rich décor and warm hospitality whisk you away to a royal dining experience. The menu boasts traditional favorites executed with finesse, ensuring a satisfying culinary journey. Whether youre a connoisseur of Indian cuisine or simply seeking a taste of luxury, THE MAHARAJA delivers an experience thats both indulgent and genuine.
Ordered biryani rice. Price is higher however the taste is not that good. Price doesnt reflect the quality.
The taste of the food was below average. Ambience was nice and so was service. The menu and dishes looked fancy but prices are really high and taste doesn t justify it.
The ambience is very good. Even though this is a fine dining place, prices are way too high for the food being served.
Fabulous drinks, nice martini
Drinks were amazing especially welcome drink and staff service (mehak) she was so good, we really appreciate your attentiveness and friendly attitude. Thankyou !!
I wish I could rate this place 100 out of 10. Absolutely incredible service for our table of 6. We celebrated my moms 70th birthday and it felt like we were royalty for the afternoon. I ve been to so many overrated Indian place likes Farzi cafe and befikre- this place surpasses both without a doubt. The food is fresh and flavourful. We were waited on by multiple staff members which made it feel like we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. They are fair and so kind I was honestly blown away. All their dishes were 10/10. Their masala tea is a must try- it was the best I ve ever had. Thank you again for not rushing us and letting us make such beautiful memories (and taking so many pictures of us). I could not have asked for a better experience.
Vegetarian options: Kadai panner and appetizers Food
The food was nice and it is also cozy place. The waitress named Mansi was also very nice and humble. She was also very helpful with us.
Food was good. The service provided by Mansi is very. She is very friendly and nice in nature. Thank You
Great experience. Drinks are best here. Food
Great atmosphere for a sit down meal with good Indian food.
Yesterday i made the mistake of ordering butter chicken from the Maharaja. My reason for my huge dissapointment was i paid $25 dollars for butter chicken that was made from bottled sauce you can buy from the store exactly the kind of Sharwoods Butter Chicken available at the grocery store. They claimed to be only white meat but that s not true it was brown meat mixed with a little bit of white. To tell you the truth they had quickly boiled couple pieces of chicken and added to the the store bought butter chicken sauce the meat was uncooked and had no taste. The dish didn t come with rice or bread so it was $25 dollars for few pieces of chicken, i would not recommend this to anyone unless you have $25 to throw i would not recommend it, poor very poor. MINUS 1 STAR UK
Decoration - Rajasthani concept, rooms named like Sheesh Mahal, Hawa Mahal etc. Food - Very tasty and authentic. The only flip side is that it is a bit costly compared to other similar restaurants. Service - very good, friendly, and prompt.
Great yummy food!
Very nice Indian Restaurant. Food, Service and Ambiance was very nice and our server Gitansh made some good recommendations for our group. They have a good selection of Wine and Premium Alcohol as well. Would definitely go back Food : 5/5
The Maharaja left me with mixed feelings. The ambiance, adorned with live music, attempts to create a vibrant atmosphere, though the volume proved overwhelming despite our request for adjustment, which unfortunately went unheeded. While I cant fault the quality of the food, the exorbitant prices and meager portions left me questioning the value. A $30 Biryani, featuring just a couple of meat pieces in a bowl smaller than a soup bowl, seemed unjustifiable. The experience, though not outright unpleasant, didnt align with the hefty price tag. To add to the disappointment, we left hungry, unsatisfied, and with a bill that felt offensive. The friendly service from the lady attending to our table was notable, but in a fine dining setting, I expect more than just a pleasant demeanor. If the prices are set at a premium, the food quality should be extraordinary, leaving me amazed, especially considering the small quantities served. Unfortunately, this restaurant fell short of providing the fine dining experience that the pricing suggested.
This used to be the best Indian restaurant in Mississauga, and I used to bring all visiting relatives and friends interested in trying Indian food here. However, the quality of their food and service has just been dropping. Food: - used to be great, sometimes still is - two visits ago, most of the food was quite good but then the Hyderabadi fish was just very obviously stale - last visit, the bemissal paneer had no taste; it was soft but it felt like I was eating plain paneer, so the marination didn t feel strong enough - the butter chicken was their special of the day so I got it. It tasted good but the pieces weren t consistently cooked with some pieces being tougher than others Service: - very hit or miss, sometimes you get a welcome drink, other times you don t - when I first came here, they used to take your coats from you, now they don t - they used to explain the menu and how it covers different regions of India, now they don t - they would serve the food to the guests by default or at least ask, now they don t unless you ask - they have also made the odd choice of serving their food in tiny bowls filled to the top and placed on a stand with a candle in it. I understand that the purpose is to keep the food warm but the serving bowl is essentially too hot to properly lift up and keeps moving and dropping food if you try to serve while the bowl is on the stand - having your hosts serve the food to the guests would be beneficial here - they always make it a point to confirm your reservation on the day of. I believe they used to send an email and call you, bit of an overkill, but yesterday they only called me. Now I was napping so I had put my phone on do not disturb. They called me twice in a row to bypass this and promptly woke me up - not sure why they have also decided to have a live musician play his guitar and sing a song loudly while guests have dinner; not particularly a fan as it doesn t personally appeal to me. But I digress, that could be entirely on me and others may enjoy this Overall, I am disappointed. I ve frequented this place quite a few times over the years, including ordering their set take out menus during COVID closures. Mostly fantastic experiences have been marred by recent visits. For the price you way, I m sorry to say that this doesn t seem worth it anymore. This used to be my favourite Indian restaurant in Canada (I had given it that glowing review initially on TripAdvisor) and now it has just become average. I ll now have to look for another Indian restaurant to by my go-to place because I m no longer impressed. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options Dietary restrictions: The meat is halal; they also have a decent amount of vegetarian options
Worst experience...
I went there with my family! I had zero expectations about this place! I live just behind this place it was always stranded and never even thought of looking at it! But was surprised when i walked into it, the atmosphere was so beautiful and enlighting. The servuce was also too good. The guy who sang was really good, he definitely knew what he was doing!! We dined-in on the 27th january 2024. Now coming to the food! I ordered a stella beer (i drink it regularly) it is dark in colour, but instead they gave me a corona instead (i thought it was for some other table but brought it to me instead and i did not refuse it for some reason). Then came the starters, the lamb skewers were a bit hard and dry on the outside, and we also ordered the non veg platter it was soo dry, the leg had no salt, the kebabs were so so so dry!! Coming to tge biriyani it was so blunt, no flavour!! I bet it was just heated and not even heated properly, had dominating lime flavour in the chicken. We ordered naan and some prawns curry, the curry was the only thing which was decent, the naan was totally burnt, every single piece, I have all the pictures and videos. Except for food all the rest was absolutely good. The management has to have great concerns to the food being served.
Best Indian food I ve had in North America! Gitansh was a fantastic host.
The best Indian food I ve ever had. Everything was very high quality. Thanks Gitansh for a wonderful experience!
The best Indian food I ve ever had. The atmosphere and decor was so nice the and service by Gitansh was amazing. Would travel to Mississauga just to eat here !
This was the best indian food that I ever had. Just loved it. The service by Gitansh was also upto the mark as he explained the menu and gave great recommendations.
Good food and nice ambiance
We visited our marriage anniversary dinner here. Food very good tasty. Our food Sarver Githnsh ,his customer service very good
Soup was the best...it was chicken soup. Gaouloti kebab were a little hard than expected...But tasted ok. Last was rara mutton...that was ok too. Service was really good...our server was great. This place is a little expensive... for water they will not ask u...if u want to pay for mineral water... its just charged to you 10cad for a bottle.
They make people fool and staff do not behave well or service is too late moreover when I receive a food it is to silly and cold
My husband and I went to this location yesterday for Valentines dinner. We had booked our reservation a week and a half ago. We were ten minutes early, we were seated at 8pm. The server gave us the menus and took our drinks order it took 15 minutes. We ordered our apps and mains together, half an hour passed another couple showed up and were seated within 15 minutes they received their apps, we were told to wait even though the valentine menu was the same for everyone. My husband and I waited almost a hour and half to receive absolutely no food. Another staff member came to us asking is what would we like for dessert we were absolutely shocked. We got up and refused the meal which we still did not receive the server had the audacity to make us pay for water and coke. Absolutely worst experience Ive ever had. Do not recommend coming to this resturant, no manager was present, staff was horrible. Over priced garbage.
Awesome Customer service provided by the Entire staff..!! Specially Neelam Such a Generous Soul with Beautiful Smile . She helped me choosing Menu and her suggestion were Great..!! Her customer service Enhances the Experience The food was Delicious as well those Martinis Great Experience Highly Recommend.!!
Good service Food quality was good Lassi taste was amazing feels as drinking in Panjab Food : 5/5
I went for lunch to this restaurant on February 14, 2024. The place was empty. The ambience was good but food was cold even from the grill! It was as if it had been in fridge overnight, left outside for while for room temperature and then forgotten to be warmed up. Tomato soup was lukewarm. Chicken tikka, paneer tikka, tikki, everything was cold. Fish was so bad that one serving couldn t be finished by about 12 non-veg folks. Main course items: Dal makhani had too much salt. The paneer was cut up in heart shapes (being Valentine Day) and were kept out of the gravy by serving on a skewer. Bad idea. The naans were burnt. The server kept forgetting who ordered what. I guess it s self explanatory why the place was absolutely empty. The custard was good. The gulab jamun was well made but again COLD. Would definitely NOT recommend.
The drinks were awesome.
Maharaja Restaurant experience was like stepping into a realm where time is a flexible concept. Water was a rare commodity, drinks were on a pilgrimage, and the prices were like a tribute to an invisible deity. Service played a game of now-you-see-me, now-you-dont with our patience. - They were super aggressive to take your drinks order but failed to ask for water when greeted. - Water bottle was pricey, $10/bottle (comes with free pouring, like nobody else knows how to pour) - they don t come with order taking system but rather chose to follow old fashioned and forgot one or two things to bring on table. - Quantity vs Price: HUGE gap to justify. - BEER was cheaper than Water bottle, LOL. - Google asked to upload pictures, but didn t feel to take any :)
Checked out Maharaja Restaurant, ready to be spoiled. Instead, got schooled in the fine art of waiting. Hydration turned into a distant dream, our drinks went on a world tour, and the prices suggested we were funding their next renovation. The ambience wasnt anything special, infact it was too cramped to be considered as a fine dine restaurant. Service wasn t great either. - Apps and main food tasted absolutely bland. - Dal makhani was good consistency however tasted a bit sour. - Rice -This was the best part of the entire meal . Absolutely awesome... IN SHORT: - Overpriced - Food quantity and quality is average - Dining should be spacious to justify the cost - Customer service can be improved
Visited Maharaja Restaurant for a feast, ended up in a game of patience and perseverance. Water became a luxury, drinks were lost in translation, and the prices were a steep climb for what felt like base camp service. It was an exercise in waiting, with a side of hide-and-seek courtesy of the staff.
Maharaja Restaurant visit, thinking itd be a royal affair. Turned out to be a lesson in the art of patience. A quest for water, a mythical journey for our drinks to find their way, and dishes priced like they included a share of the restaurant. The service played hide and seek. One of the worst experience. It used to be better but don t know what changed. Bitterness of poor quality longs last
Went to Maharaja Restaurant, expecting to be treated like nobility. The reality? More like jesters in the court of delayed service. Questing for water, launching search parties for our drinks, and the bill was a treasure trove, minus the treasure. Service was as fleeting as a whisper in the wind.
Went to Maharaja Restaurant expecting a feast fit for royalty but ended up playing a waiting game that would test the patience of a saint. Picture this: thirsting for water like Im stranded in a desert, but when it finally arrives, Im half expecting a mirage. Ordered drinks that took a detour to Narnia before reaching our table. And the food? Priced like were dining with the actual Maharaja but served with the enthusiasm of a court jester. Honestly, it was an adventure - just not the kind youre looking for when youre hungry.
I recently dined at this restaurant with a friend and was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service. The Maderia drink they served was particularly delightful, and I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment.
Please avoid this restaurant for any special event to save your day. This restaurant isn t the same Maharaja (not just speaking from my experience had similar review from my friend who went on same day for his anniversary he also gave review) I Pre reserved this restaurant for occasion Food was substandard , you get better food in any local brampton/Mississauga restaurant 1/3 of price, forget about fine dine restaurant comparison. Ambience was super noisy (they had vacuum or construction noise so loud from left and right, thats unbearable to sit and staff didn t bother to even notice. somehow guy on bar noticed my expression and realized mistake and he increased music even louder to cover up (which was of no help). There were insects flying , we constantly have to wave from hand to keep it away from food(no One bothered to noticed or do anything) Most importantly while booking i asked for celebration desert and told to guy to please make note and confirm. he said do not worry we will take care as he made note and all. but at the time they didn t bother or do anything and bought bill directly and on top of that i was ashamed to ask that after that horrible experience. Service was ok ( though girl tried to keep checking on us regularly but, it wasn t of any help after that worst experience.) This ruined by whole experience and total $190 I even left 10% tip just for them to consider to give one extra welcome shot for my toddler (After requesting 2-3 times and when i said i am even ok to Pay as daughter was insisting that she wants)
Amazing food .. good music and excellent service .. highly recommended
Overpriced for the experience
When i called for dining they said you have to wait 40 mins after that i got my food the quality and quantity was very bad, my whole year was so good but last day of this year was so bad because by mistake i visited in this restaurant.
I came all the way from Brampton to this place. We ordered Hara-Bhara kebab which was okay to taste, but the quantity is not good.Dahi ke kebab was not upto the mark, it tasted horrible. The place is so expensive! We got still water which cost us $16, which is too much according to other restaurants. They need to understand Having good Ambience is not the only factor to gain customers. Food should also taste good and should be worth the money people are spending.
Customer Service is excellent but food is ok ok. Garlic overpowers the flavours. Requested to replace tomato soup due to excessive garlic but no one turned back with the replacement. Live singers were very good.
Mansi is well trained server
Everything was so quick We havent got enough time to enjoy live music. Food was nice but so expensive. Vegetarian options: We Have had a few things but Bill was 160cad for 4 people. A little higher in price where people get buffets at the same price.
Good place
Went in for a date. Food is really good. Especially the dessert
So Far the best Indian Restaurant i have visited quality and quantity of the food is amazing i love their Indian Royal Theme
This was the first fine dining restaurant we visited after we moving to Canada. We were looking for good place to celebrate a birthday and was enjoyed our meal here. However, After COVID, the menu (and probably the chef too) seem to be changed a little and we miss the old taste. However, it is still very good and we still come here for birthdays and Valentine day celebrations.
Staff is very kind! Ambience is intricately thought out but contributes to an exceptional dining experience. Food is outstanding, truly authentic taste of Indian cuisine!
Very delicious food, great ambience and awesome service. Will go there often
Excellent. ambience, food and service Jan-6-2024. Back to The Maharaja, gourmet restaurant after a while for lunch with family and friends. The best fine dining experience in Mississauga. Welcoming staff, outstanding ambience, authentic and unique dishes. Always satisfied and highly recommended.
My family recently dined at Maharaja with a group of friends, and the experience was nothing short of delightful. The ambiance was warm and inviting, creating the perfect atmosphere for a memorable evening. The diverse menu offered a delightful array of dishes, each expertly crafted and bursting with flavors. From appetizers to desserts, every bite was a culinary masterpiece that will stay fresh on the palate. Additionally, the artwork on display added an extra layer of enjoyment to the overall experience. We highly recommend Maharaja for those seeking a combination of excellent food, a welcoming atmosphere, and captivating artwork.
The food quality was not good. THE STAFF WAS NOT POLITE.THE FOOD WAS COLD.
The food quality was very disappointing. We ordered the Jhinga dish, which consisted of tandoori tiger prawns. Unfortunately, they were rubbery and seemed to have gone bad. Next, we tried the chicken curry. While the curry itself was flavorful, the chicken appeared to be of poor quality, almost as if it were expired. Overall, the quality of the food did not justify the high prices. Its perplexing how they have received such positive reviews on Google
Excellent food, very friendly and professional staff, will definitely visit again.. highly recommended for Indian food . I was stuck by the effort taken to create an Indian ambience inside a centurion building - the building was apparently a house that was built way back in 1825 .. the art and decor is specifically customised to provide the historic Mughal feel.. even a Meena Lisa ( Indianized Mona Lisa) .. Love it.. My five stars
Recently visited the restaurant with friends for a birthday party. Loved the ambience, service and the food. Highly recommended for parties and casual dine in.
Very nice place with yummy food dishes.
Food was good, there was variety but test was more like home cooked food. If i can cook home same food why would i go out , Vegetarian options: Everythibg is veggie
Great ambience with excellent presentation and tasty Indian food . Gitansh our server made us feel extremely comfortable . Can t wait to go back !
The waitress Mansi was serving me and she did a really good job. The atmosphere was nice and the food was awesome. Staff are really friendly.
We had an amazing host named Mansi at the restaurant.. and the food was great thank you.. Vegetarian options: Good Dietary restrictions: Good Parking: Good
Maharaj Restaurant in my knowledge cutoff was known for its delectable Indian cuisine and attentive customer service. The rich flavors of their dishes, combined with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, made it a memorable dining experience.
