I love Japanese bbq! Gyubee is a AYCE restaurant with a lunch special or all-day option. We went it the all-day one so we could enjoy more selection of meat. I definitely recommend getting Prime Kalbi, the meat was fresh and seasoned well. Bibimap came in a cute tiny bowl was really good to go with the meat. Seafood options are also available such as salmon, squid or shrimp. You get a sweet soy sauce as a dipping sauce and chili pepper, though they also offered ssamjang and fresh lettuce. The service was very quick, as you would expect for AYCE with 2 hour limited time. Staffs were nice and helpful. Don't forget to enjoy their creme brulee and vanilla icecream after the meal. We had such a nice experience here and will definitely be back. FYI: They only take cash or debit card
Pork belly was delicious although we preferred the thin cut to the thick cut. The various cuts of beef were also good but the brisket & short ribs were the most tender. Chicken thighs were ridiculously juicy and the surprise for both of us was the cold noodles and steamed clams. If we hadn't ordered so much food, I would have liked to have a second round of those. Great, efficient service. Debit or cash only!! Went on a week night and even though it was busy, we didn't have to wait for a table. 100% coming back & bringing friends.
We are a group of seven. As we were lead to the table, I was shocked to see the table had a supporting post in the middle of the table. It basically dividing our group into two separating groups. Other than that, the food is good, many choices and served fast. The attendant was very nice, clear out the empty plates promptly and offered clean napkins often.
It was a really good experience. The food was awesome, and it was all you could eat. It is a great place to challenge friends for a food eating contest if that's what you're into, and the staff are super friendly, and if you're confused on what to get and want a recommendation the staff are always there to help and explain what you will be getting overall you should really try it out worth the money
Tucked away just minutes from Square One, this charming Japanese BBQ restaurant offers an inviting dining experience. Arriving for an early dinner at 4 PM, we were promptly seated without any wait and provided with a helpful guide through the BBQ process. Our beverage selection featured the Lychee and Peach Mint Soda, both refreshing and delightful, with the Lychee taking the top spot. Unfortunately, the Grape Soda fell short of expectations and isn't something we'd recommend. The menu, accessible via a QR code, boasts a wide variety of options, many of which were new to us. Among the meats, the Miso Beef Brisket, Sweet Soy Beef Brisket, and Miso Pork Belly were the standouts, offering rich flavors that complemented the BBQ experience perfectly. On the other hand, the Marinated Lamb was a disappointment; its overwhelming portion size and off-putting aroma post-cooking were underwhelming. For sides, the butter corn, honey sweet potato, and grilled pineapple were all exceptional, with the latter pairing particularly well with the pork. I also suggest ordering a portion of lettuce, ssamjang, garlic, bean sprouts, and bibimbap for a well-rounded meal. The entire dining experience was elevated by the high quality of the ingredients, and our meal concluded on a sweet note with the crème brûlée and an ice cream cone, the latter of which had a subtle hint of coconut. Service was impeccable, with our server attentively managing our table along with three others, ensuring that our needs were met without delay. The food arrived promptly, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal. I highly recommend this Japanese BBQ spot for its exceptional food and attentive service. It's an excellent choice for both family dinners and date nights, especially if you find yourself near Square One.
My husband and I walk past thing place on the regular and the smell that comes out has always interested us. This past Tuesday we went and we certainly were not disappointed. Kevin the server was also incredibly kind.
It was my first time at this buffet-style Japanese live cooking restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of preparing food myself. I particularly love grilling food as it gives it a smokey flavor. It was a fantastic experience, and I'm eager to bring my friends here. I arrived an hour before closing time, so I hurried to cook and taste all the food. Overall, I loved the food and the flavors here. I will definitely be returning again!
It was my First time trying Japanese BBQ and it did not disappoint.. they have a variety of options to satisfy anyone’s cravings (meat, poultry, seafood) and and endless variety of delicious sides. We had a great time, the service was so efficient and prompt. I would highly recommend making a reservation and arriving on time as there is a 2 hour time limit and they only seat you when your whole party is present. Everything served was fresh and delicious, they have a variety of drinks, cocktails and mock-tails. When you go ensure to bring a big appetite! Overall had a great experience.
Amazing quality food and service was great as well. One of the best All you can eat Japanese BBQ around. Parking: Lots of Parking in the plaza
The quality of the meat is great, i love going there
Food was good. Service and interior were ok. They need better exhaust system as we all smelled like BBQ at the end of our lunch.
I love you guys but please I beg you bring back the cold noodles. Petition to have cold noodles year round PLEASE!!! I almost cried when I found out you guys changed it to tan tan noodles
The taste was always the best
A very disappointing dining experience. The hostess led us to a table directly facing the door, but we wanted to switch to a nearby table. She said it wasn t possible because that area wasn t open yet. It was not even 5 PM, and there were plenty of empty tables. I don t understand why she wouldn t accommodate our request. However, the male waiter provided excellent service. Unfortunately, this short hostess, who claimed to be the manager, left me with a very negative impression.
Lots of food for all you can eat. Meats are delicious and the seafood was really good. Service was quick and attentive. Good for group settings.
Food was great, the thin beef is the way to go Their lunch special is a great value Food
Loved absolutely everything, except if you are more than 4 people, the seating arrangement is a bit odd. They are very strict with their timeline of 2 hours. Food was delicious, especially all the beef items.
never go here on Weekends, the worst reservations list. we have been waiting for almost 2hours!
The host, Crystal (Sunday night, Oct 27), was extremely impatient and impolite. She kept rolling her eyes during the check-in process(we were the only group at the counter/waiting area that time, so it wasn t busy). Hence, we expressed our discomfort with her attitude, stating that was inappropriate. After our feedback, she not only ignored us but became even ruder. Her tone and body language were definitely unacceptable. She shouldve apologized for her actions, but apparently she did not ..
Not bad just mediocre Japanese food. Guy in the phone told me it s possible split the bill 3 ways for large groups. When I get there they said they don t split the bill.
The barbecue ingredients are very well prepared, the ingredients are very fresh, and the variety of dishes is also very rich. There were a lot of people when I went there, but the food delivery efficiency was pretty good. Overall, the experience was great.
Good beer!!
Great food. Definitely go again.
Food is fine, service is terrible and rude. First thing they tell you when you come in is that you have a two hour limit (which is fine); however then, throughout the meal all they are doing is constantly reminding you that your time is running out. Service is slow - you have to practically grab someone to get their attention and order more food, which is an issue given the time limit. At the two hour mark, they literally kicked us out while our food was still cooking. Good variety of meats, but nothing special or exceptional that is worth the price you pay or bad service and unnecessary time pressure. Overall would not go back or recommend. There are better bbq places that offer a much better customer experience.
What a sadly disappointing service experience at our favorite restaurant. The food here is incredibly good but I don t understand what s going on with the servers. I always tolerated the lack of attentiveness because the place is so busy but what happened today was just awful. My family raved over their cocktails so I decided to try an alcohol free ume soda because I don t drink. I pointed at it on the menu and spoke clearly (I don t have an accent or anything). server took the order and asked 5 min later if I wanted more tea. I said no, please just my SODA. Another server brought the drink and just to double check I asked her, this is alcohol free right? She said no and refused to switch it. The two girls continued to pretend like I made a mistake (claiming I said sour ) and asked me to pay double just to switch out a drink I haven t even accepted yet. You guys get paid $30 in tips from us. That little watered down juice on ice I wanted, literally costs the restaurant $1! For a mistake you made. You guys lost the plot, seriously. If there s some kind of policy you enforce on your servers, you need to rethink this because it makes zero sense.
Asked for new glasses three times and wasnt provided a new one so we had to hide it. The fourth time we asked they gave glasses with same condition. We ended up drinking the drinks on the pitcher since the glasses are really dirty.
This location is the worst I ve been to. The quality of beef is not as good as the locations in Toronto and Ottawa, and it s overly salty. The service is even worse when we requested less fatty beef, a male server started educating us in a condescending way. He might have been a supervisor or the owner. They didn t change the grill or take our orders proactively, we had to call them ourselves. Overall, the dining experience was disappointing, and I won t be returning.
Good food and best services. Its worth.a try. Nice place for family or friend gathering. Highly reccommend
We came here for lunch, my husband and I with our baby boy. When we arrived they told us there was only one small table where we could squeeze in our stroller. Since the restaurant was still pretty empty we asked if we could sit at another table where we d have more room, but they said no. They told us to take baby out of the stroller and hold him, but because our son has severe food allergies including peanuts, we preferred to keep him away from surfaces and in his own seat. Basically, I learned that this restaurant is not friendly for families and unwilling to accommodate even during an off-peak time. When my son started crying and fussing, I saw some of their staff pointing and whispering at us which made me very uncomfortable. The food is always excellent, no question, but this experience has made me change my mind about coming back here. Kid-friendliness: Not friendly for families with babies and/or strollers. Avoid.
Ive been eating at Gyubee everytime i go to Mississauga since they opened. Food and service are always great, never have any issue of waiting/delay food. I introduced to my friends, even friend just come to Toronto for travel, and they all love this location.
The quality of the meat is really good. So many options of meats to try and different side dishes.
Went there with my boss. Great food.
Good food, but you need to know what you want and order it. Great place to sample various things on the menu. On the expensive side as I did not expect to pay ~$300 for 5 (without alcohol) at a grill & eat restaurant. The service was very good and attentive, so the minimum 15% is very well deserved and a 20% tip being reasonable for the service. The absence of a tablet based ordering system was indeed very welcome. Vegetarian options: Mostly grilled veggies and definitely not the place for a vegeterian at the price you pay. Kid-friendliness: A fun place to take kids but the price could be an issue.
Very fun experience, although was a little hectic inside as the place was heavily packed.
The pushiness is really annoying.
Had a lot of fun and service was amazing I would recommend
Excellent food with reasonable price
Food was great! Service was good! A bit pricey but the quality of the food was great. They changed the bbq grates when needed. The crème brûlée dessert was amazing. I recommend and would definitely go back. A must recommend to all carnivores.
Service was absolutely amazing. Food was of course 5 star. Never had a bad experience here
Very nice place, food is amazing
We went for dinner with a group of 5 people. Five of us shared one oven instead of two ovens that other restaurants would provide. The fire was not strong enough, and the service was slow and made mistakes. We ordered a Miso Marinated steak, whether we ordered 1 One serving, three serving, or six servings. What you got is 1 small plate (3 piece meat). The restaurant only allows 2 hours of dining time. The firepower is not enough and the meals are not delivered on time. If you don t want to do all you can eat, why not do something else? before we leave , even we still have some time left , they told us next reservation is waiting , can you guys leave now . Horrible Service !
What an amazing resturant. Lots of variety. Very clean. Friendly staff and efficient. Worth the visit. Keep up the good work.
The meat is so delicious. All you can eat, great food and services!
We understand that there s a two-hour limit and last call is 20 minutes before the end of that period. However, we were seated at 4:30 pm, and our last call was taken about 5:50 pm 1hour 20mins after we started. We were asked to pay our bill at 6:10 pm, and even while we were still eating with 20 minutes left, staff attempted to clear our table and informed us we had only 5 minutes remaining. This experience felt rushed and stressful after we had already paid. We understand the need to manage seating, but the service we received felt rude and disrespectful. They need to train their staff how to read a clock.
Need more seasoning and dipping sauce. Not international friendly if your money value more then Canadian you still have to give them they amount on the bill.
Food is delicious! Tks Boo. Food
Food was great. However, you may have to wait a while to be seated. Remember to use the yelp app to be added to the wait list.
Simply the best all you can eat experience in Ontario.
It s not real Korean bbq but it s alternative to at to enjoy it. Overall, food is very salty.
Gyubee is a Japanese inspired AYCE BBQ restaurant. There is a nice variety of meats such as beef, chicken and pork. Other items are salmon, clams, mushrooms and corn. You can also order non-grilled dishes such as bibimbap, cold noodles and tako yaki. Servers are attentive and clear off empty plates quickly. Overall a great dining experience.
Amazing experience every single time! My boyfriend and I love this ayce, we always go a few minutes after they open as they can get busy! But the service is top notch, food is always delicious, always consistent and we always get our order very fast after placing it. We appreciate the workers as they re welcoming and friendly all the time!
One of my favourite all you can eat grilling spots! Their side options along with their meat varieties are top notch. Their service is always quick and efficient too
Not a place for a big group more than 10 and family celebration, area is too small. Not so much choice on deserts and the bbq griller is also small. They also rush us to leave even if were about to and we havent even done the payment yet.
If you are celebrating an occasion with a group of 10 or more , then this is not the place to go. There were 12 of us and was placed congested on a table with only 2 bbq grillers,.. of course, it took us time, and then a male ( not sure what his role is) rushed us to leave . I was finishing up my dessert and the lady server already started cleaning up our table . Not a pleasant experience at all and will not consider of coming back! . I do not recommend this place! On the positive note, the food tastes good and our male server was nice so I gave him an extra tip!
Great flavours in the food. Unlimited ordering which was appreciated. Book in advance to get into the queue and get a seat, we had a bit of a wait before we got in. They have a lot of birthdays but they have variety in their birthday song selection which at least made it different but very popular birthday spot.
Food is great but this place only accept Canadian debit card and cash which is so inconvenient for me as a tourist from the US.
gooooooood
We went here for our birthday dinner with a big group of friends. We waited for more than 30 to have our seats. We enjoyed it very much, so it was still worth the wait.
Was not impressed with this specific location. We went on a Wednesday evening with my family of 6. All was well when we made the reservation but when we arrived, we only had one grill for myself, Fiancée, 2 teenagers and 2 young kids. It took a while to grill and keep up with feeding the kids first . I asked about the other tables, and since it was all reserved and got busy, we had no choice. They also said their would be an extra charge for an extra grill, which made no sense since we were paying per person anyway. Aside from that, I found their bibimbap was very salty along with some of their meats. I also felt rushed. Our served kept reminding us about the 2 hour limit. I kept an eye on our time but I dont think we needed a reminder 45mins before our time was up. Also, asking us to pre-order our desserts before we even finished eating and asking us to pay our bill shorty after. I will not return to this location.
Love the restaurant, though I prefer the Scarborough location. Food is perfect as usual :)
Have a cellphone with data to scan and download the pdf menus. I mean, its just really good yakiniku. Most of the employees are Asian college and university students that are working part-time on the side. Expect there to be a waitlist at peak hours every evening. Amazing creme brulee, btw. Dont know if they still do it anymore, but they used to greet everyone with (welcome in Japanese). Trying a bit too hard, but its still cute lol.
Best Japanese cuisine.
Great spot for AYCE grill your own bbq. But in comparison with other Gyubees, the service is not as good. There is a 2 hour limit but they did not take our first order until after at least 10 or 15 minutes and then last call was about 30 minutes or so before our time was up. Unless things have changed, this was not the same at the 3 other locations we have been to.
Be careful not to come just before closing time. We went at the scheduled time, but we had to wait for more than an hour. As closing time was approaching, we were asked to leave after 1 hour, and the last order was 30 minutes after we sat down. We were not allowed to take our time to eat, and we were very tired after dinner. All severs tried to serve us as quickly as possible, but I cannot accept that we should pay the same price as others for this. They should improve their reservation system.
Terrible situation with the waitlist and waiting time. The waitlist takes multiple hours and then they won t even wait 5 mins when your turn comes. Ridiculous service, ridiculous front of house. No matter how good and reasonable the food might be, this headache of waiting and not taking reservations is not worth it. The ATTITUDE of the staff does NOT help. Pleas train your staff better. Do better.
It was good
Overall a nice place. Waiters are very polite and attentive!
Ive been to various grill yourself places but this has been the absolute worst experience and service Ive ever had. I went with my friend for their lunch menu on a Tuesday so it was pretty empty and we were seated promptly. We were informed of the 1.5 hr seating limit and we had no problems with that and we finished eating in about an hour. After, we saw that it was still not busy so we wanted to use that extra time left in our limit to enjoy our dessert and chat for a bit before leaving. However, the wait staff made us feel very rushed and kept indirectly insisting we leave, despite the fact that the table beside us had been there before us and were not getting rushed at all to leave. We didnt appreciate this and when it came paying the bill neither of us tipped since the service made us upset. However, after we paid another server came to our table to ask us why we didnt tip and wanted us to tip before we left. Ive never had this experience at ANY restaurant before and it made me happier that I didnt tip because you cannot rush us to leave and then also demand a tip. Ridiculous. Meat was average at best too, but the service was horrendous never going again.
Good experience!!! Anyway,I think you guys should serve more lean meat
- Love their bibimbap, salmon & shrimp - Desserts too limited - love their meats esp chicken breast & beef - love the size of their tables, much bigger than other Grill Restaus we ve visited Overall, i d say experience was 75% good.
Good restaurant but worst service ever. First time to come Mississauga one. The servicer is really bad, rude. When you pronounce something incorrectly and she doesnt understand, she will make very exaggerated gestures, and in the end, she will roll her eyes when she puts away her iPad. And when I order a cola and when she gave to me, she told me: this is for refill but not for share! Because I am the only one order the soft drink or??????? Not even begin I drink it and she already assumes I don t know the common sense or I will share it! It was a very uncomfortable experience and I forgot to ask her name!!!! They charged 15% fix tips and she gave me that unhealthy attitude which makes me feel bad! I think the restaurant really need monitor and improve the service attitude since you charged the fix tips!!!!!!
Food was amazing. Prime kalbi literally melts in your mouth. The takoyaki, dare I say was the best I ever had. The miso pork belly and miso brisket are a must. Overall the experience was great and I would recommend to anyone
If you re into a unique dining experience then this place is a great b place to eat. They bring you the most tender cuts of meat, seafood and veggies and you put them on a grill in the middle of the table. My only problem was taking the meat off at the right time, it was either too done or not done enough, which is really a fault all my own. But otherwise super good food, friendly staff, and fun for kids.
Love the food here! Tastes so great and the staff are really accommodating.
The service was excellent. Always right there when you need them. very friendly people. Food amazing.
Tyler was the rudest host ever perhaps consider hiring someone else. Won t be back due to his horrendous service. Server was nice, food was great, ambiance was nice but deplorable service from the host.
The food is excellent although they only serve barbecue food items and no other items such as sashimi and sushi . Overall the selection of food items tasted good and tender. What we didnt like was the time limit they have imposed. Cant enjoy eating when you are being rushed!
The service is really bad had to wait so long for your order over priced
For an AYCE restaurant, the lunch menu offers very limited choices. The quality of the meat is alright but not great. A lot of pieces of meat were fatty and greyish looking. There were quite a few waiters and yet my food orders were forgotten a few times. I found myself reordering items I never got. One order of takoyaki even ended up on the wrong table. The lady was confused about why she was getting the food even though she didn t order it Would I go back to try the All Day menu option? Maybe But I don t think it is worth the drive just to eat there. There are other AYCE BBQ restaurants in Mississauga.
Great Japanese bbq place in Mississauga. Came during lunch on a weekday, and while the options were less than the regular menu there were still some variety. We mainly got the beef brisket and ribs - not too salty, and the quality of meat and side dishes was good. Service was mediocre, friendly and somewhat attentive. The bibimbap was spectacular- highly recommend. Overall great experience!
The food is really good and fresh, everything tasted amazing. The service was excellent, Christine our server was so friendly and she made sure to give us amazing service. I would definitely come here again!
Took my family here for dinner and I was blown away on every aspect of this place The food was soooo delicious. The servers were friendly and on point on drinks and food you want to order The atmosphere was great my family and I were cooking together while laughing and talking and enjoying our meal out. I highly recommend trying Gyubee for a date night or a family outing
I recently visited Gyubee in Mississauga, and while the food was undeniably great, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. After our meal, a manager harassed us to squeeze out a higher tip. This aggressive behavior was completely unacceptable. If Gyubee expects more money, they should include it in the price of the meal. Tips are supposed to be optional, not extorted from customers. To make matters worse, the following day, I suffered from severe food poisoning and an upset stomach. My mother, who dined with me, had to be admitted to the hospital due to the illness caused by the food. This is beyond disappointing and unacceptable for a restaurant of this supposed caliber. I will be reaching out to the food health authority to report this incident. Gyubee needs to seriously reevaluate their customer service practices and food safety standards. I wont be returning and strongly advise others to think twice before dining here.
Good and service was great ! Need reservations or to join the online wait list
Foreign plastic was found at my very first bite. Thankfully the 15cm strip was quite visible and didn t chock me at all. Apologies and a piece of courtesy compensation was received. Plastic packaging in food is more or less understandable. However, more subsequent mistakes happened such as ordering one serve of cold noodles but received one crème brûlée, and reordering the cold noodles (with pointing out the mistake) but received two serves of cold noodles
Great variety with the AYCE food options (except for dessert) and the quality of the meats was excellent. A lovely spot to celebrate with family and friends!
I love this place! Miso beef and the sushi. I dont feel rushed here and can enjoy myself without being watched like a hawk. Lots of good options on the menu, though a better soy sauce offering would be great.
I had an exceptionally enjoyable experience at this establishment. The culinary offerings were of the highest caliber, and our server, Krystal, demonstrated exceptional courtesy and competence in her role. I shall undoubtedly revisit the establishment in the future.
Best restaurant in the west of the GTA in my opinion.
I ve been here twice. My first experience was very off-putting. The service was alright, passed basic needs/standards. Towards the end of my meal when I was getting full, I tried packing literally less than 5 small pieces of meat just to take home because 1. I hate food waste, 2. I know I d eat it later on when I m not hungry, 3. I cooked it so I know no one else will eat it if I don t, 4. I know buffets just throw the food in the garbage rather than doing the bare minimum of putting it in a compost bin. I got caught by a waiter, then for the rest of my stay, the managers and other waiters were staring me down and would not look away, and passing by my table a lot more frequently. Made me extremely uncomfortable and highly unwelcomed. Even when I left the restaurant, one of the same managers were on the phone outside taking a smoke break near the entrance of the door, and I saw and felt him staring me down as I was walking away. Please be considerate of your guests and the environment by not smoking, at least near the entrance. Even after this experience, my stomach was aching for the next 3 days non-stop, and I felt extremely nauseous and felt the need to vomit after every meal for the following 2 weeks. My second experience here was also alright, this time the waitress was a lot nicer and gave off more of a welcoming attitude. The bill was around $63, I ended up giving $65 flat and told them to keep the change (the change being their tip). I then step out of my booth to use the bathroom, and when I came back, my partner told me they were harassed into giving more of a tip. Tips should never be mandatory. Tips are earned if the service was beyond standards. I don t know what the hourly rate of these waiters/waitresses are, but Gyubee workers should not be relying on tips to make ends meet. It seems like an haute-class buffet restaurant, so I m sure the company should have an appropriate amount of profits left to be able to pay their servers a LIVING wage, not minimum wage.
The food here is ok but the staff is absolutely horrendous. Tried to put my name on the waitlist but was told there is no waitlist and to just come in. So that is what I did. Was told there is a minimum 30 minute wait time when I arrived. This is what the infuriates me. Don t tell me to come in because there is no wait and then tell me there is a wait when I get there. Just put me on the waitlist from the beginning. Don t give me false information and mislead me just to get more people in your restaurant. I could go to plenty of other restaurants that won t lie to me.
Food was good but expensive. Also they just only accept Canadian debit card or cash, that s so unacceptable and rude for tourist.
This place was great! Food was of high quality, service was very fast and lunch was only $29.99 for all you can eat. I will definitely be returning!
Long lines
Probably the best quality of meat I ve had in a while. It s like eating in an expensive high-class restaurant, except, you re the chef.
When we started dining today, a waitress asked us for our childs ID. She said she needed to prove the childs age. She said she was the manager of Ushibei. Why didnt she ask for the ID from a white person? Is it because we are Chinese? Its obvious discrimination against Chinese people. . I have been to so many all you can eat places and this is the first time. I don t know if the waiter intentionally ordered only half of the meal. He waited for a while before asking to help you check. Friends, please remember to bring your ID next time. Just went to Ushibei. There is no discount for paying with cash, so it is the same with cash and card.
First time at Gyubee!! And definitely is not the last, we enjoyed the food and the experience of cooking it We got mix types of meet, some shrimps, rice, and vegetables like corn sweet potato and lettuce Everything was perfect and yummy And don t forget to leave some space for the delicious dessert It will be perfect way to finish your meal Easy to find parking, not too busy They take reservations only if 6 people or more
Hands down one of the worst services provided each and everytime. I have visited this restaurant a few times now thinking maybe the poor service was due to a poorly trained staff or just a bad day. But each and everytime the staff simply just does not care about your experience, which obviously is a direct reflection of the management here. The staff does not make you feel welcome, the host/hostesses dont bother looking you in thr eye when youre talking to them (they fell tapping away at their touch screen seating chart is more important than respecting patrons), and always has the take it or leave it attitude. The restaurant and their staff needs to get over itself, the quality of the food isnt even that good. Other than the thinly sliced meats, all other red meat items are tough and chewy. Many of the times they dont even bring out all of the items you order and you have to waste time sending in a repeat of your previous order. Overall, if you dont care for poor service and just going there for the all you can eat experience, then youll be fine. but if you want to leave with a happy feeling and enjoyable experience, then Id recommend you go elsewhere. Id personally avoid this restaurant and take my money elsewhere.
Great
Had a good time. Servers were fast and clean, food was great, and priced good.
Did I say Gyubee never disappoints? Because it never does. Every location is amazing, best of the best Japanese BBQ dining experience. The quality of the meats and variety is unmatched. Make a reservation unless you want to wait a long time. Incredible stuff all around, can t wait to go back!
The food was nice, but there is not a standard on measuring portions on meats, I got more steak in 3 portions in the first call than the 4 portions of steak in 2nd call. Waiter went up to my table to argue for more tips i feel extremely uncomfortable. Very disappointed
This is hands down one of my favourite places to go to whenever I have time. I ve gone to multiple Gyubee locations around the GTA, and this is definitely my favourite location. The location has really tasty food that imo just tastes better than the other locations, and has amazing service. Every time I visit the Mississauga location everyone is really nice. They do their absolute best if you consider how busy they really are. Everyone there is amazing. HIGHLY recommend Gyubee Mississauga
Gyubee is a favorite go-to. The flavours are delicious and theres a variety of choices to combine for your BBQ. However, waitlist time can be very long in the weekend. In our visit, one of the waiters wasnt keeping a good hygiene, we saw him grabbing an ice cream like it was a microphone. When we told this to the main server, she arranged for another waiter
Good food, service and space
Good food... You can choose between lunch and dinner ... Good taste and fantastic service
Had reservation for 7pm but had to wait 25 minutes to sit. We were asked to pay the bill while we were still eating around 8:45, then a manager came to ask if we could leave and let people waiting in line to come to eat. I understand you are trying to get more customers for profit, but it s pathetic you push customer to pay and leave. Will choose other restaurant next time.
Good service quality, delicious food.
Nice restaurant
i have eaten at this restaurant many times, the quality is so good.
nice 10/10
Good ayce BBQ joint. Good prices and food. Would go again
- Dont take reservations for groups under 6 - Waitlist not open 20 minutes after the restaurant opening - 5 calls with no response Service : 1/5
Very impressed with the service. All servers were polite and patient.
Ive been a regular here for more than 2 years. Never disappointed with the menu and service. Recent changes to the ice cream has been disappointing. Not sure if the ice cream machine are different, but Gyubee Markham nailed their soft serve ice cream (same taste as McDonalds). Gyubee Mississauga soft serve ice cream is a soggy slushy mess.
All good. Parking was easy to find place. Nice staff.
You aren t a GTA foodie if you haven t eaten here. The BEST all you can eat restaurant arguably in North America. Parking: In a plaza parking so there is a lot of parking available. Kid-friendliness: Many people dine in with children but you do have to cook your food and you have open flame so I would consider that when deciding if this is a place you want to bring your child.
As always the food was great just like every Gyubee location. My only complaint would be that, we were a group of 6 and they put us at a table with a giant pole in the middle which made it extremely difficult to communicate with my friends. And the service also was a tad grumpy, but still timely.
I dined here yesterday and our visit was extremely disappointing, and misleading. This business engages in deceptive business practices. Long story short: if there is a waitlist and youre still waiting and its getting close to closing (1 hr 15m before closing), DO NOT CONTINUE TO WAIT. MAKE PLANS TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. They will falsely guarantee you that the kitchen will close later to accommodate you and that you will not be rushed out. And then when they call you to get your table, after waiting for hours, upon arrival they will tell you that you have 5 minutes to order bimibap and other rice dishes, and only 45 minutes to order meat. And they will still charge you full price. Yesterday proved to be a busy night for this location. We joined the wait list at about 6 pm and it said about a 2.5 hr wait. We decided to wait. At about 8:25 pm, I decided to call, as I saw online the kitchen closes at 9:45 and we werent sure if they would even get to us, as a number of people were still head of us. The woman I spoke to advised it would be another 30 minutes. I said I noticed the kitchen closes at 9:45 though. She said because its busy, they will close later. I specifically asked would we have the same amount of time as usual to sit down and eat. She said quote I guarantee you will not be rushed and assured me we would be accommodated given how busy it was and how long we had been waiting. We decided to continue waiting. About 1 hour later (not 30 mins) we got a text message saying our table will be ready soon and decided to go. We arrived within a few minutes of getting the message as we were waiting closeby. At 9:20 we checked in and thats when we were told we had 10 minutes to order bimibap and rice dishes. They took another 5 minutes to get our table ready, so really we had 5 minutes. They also told us, at 9:20 we could only order meat until 10:15 pm, despite being guaranteed on the phone we would not be rushed. Given we waited hours and it was already so late, we decided to proceed and I really wish we didnt. The bimibap we got, was stale, clearly had been sitting and wasnt even warm. The egg wasnt fresh. They kept rushing us to get our last order of meat. And of course, there was no discounted price and you couldnt take anything home. They also closed the washrooms well before the dining room was closed, so you couldnt even use the facilities before leaving. Do not make the same mistake we made. If its getting close to the posted time that the kitchen closes (normally 9:45) just go somewhere else otherwise youll be shafted, given stale, cold food, and charged full price. When I called, they should have made these timelines (9:30/10:15) clear. They GUARANTEED me that we wouldnt be rushed out. I understand every business has a time they need to close and thats why I called to check. They clearly LIED. If the woman I spoke to made the timelines clear over the phone, I would have 0 complaints. But she straight up lied. And that was wrong. They obviously want to squeeze out as much money as they can, and could care less about your experience. At the very least, they should have offered a discount on the bill. They clearly engage in deceptive business practices and I will never go back, nor take another client back here, ever again. If the waitlist is long, trust me: go somewhere else and dont believe them when they tell you they will close later and you wont be rushed out. I hope this business contacts me to make this right.
A restaurant that charges arbitrary tips. I ate 150 dollars. The waiter give me pos machine entered 175 for me to check out. After I finished paying, I realized that she had charged me a 25 dollar tip. However, I was not satisfied with the service I received during my meal today! ! ! !
A very efficient and friendly place with great food. Loved it
Food came out very quickly and service was very attentive and polite! The only downside was the extremely long wait and the small bathrooms. You can t make reservations unless you are a group of 6 or more (we were 3). We joined the waitlist around 5pm but didnt get seated until 8pm, which was a bit frustrating because the live waitlist said that the estimated time would be 7pm. HOWEVER, the host was really nice because we kept asking how long it would be and how many people were ahead of us. Our server and honestly all of the staff was super nice to us too when we got seated. They changed out grill twice and kept asking if we wanted anymore food. They even helped us take a group photo and gave us tips on how to grill the food. The food was pretty fresh and was a wide selection so we were very satisfied!
The food was excellent! The miso steak was amazing!! Delicious, fresh meat and lots of options. The service was good and efficient but it felt rushed. We were told 1.5 hours to order and a max of 2 hours to sit, which was fine, except at the 1 hour 10 min mark they told us last call for ordering meats. It just so happened that we were full so we were okay to just get desert but I wasn t impressed that they cut us off earlier. The crème brûlée was excellent but the ice cream cone was like watery coconut slush (supposed to be vanilla soft serve). All the other foods that we tried were top notch. We also didn t get any condiments until we noticed it on other tables. I would go again but since it was my first Japanese bbq I might try a different place first.
Gyubee is loveeee meats are phenomenal!!!! Food : 5/5
Good food ( except for the beef steak, which was a little tough. It didnt matter how you cooked it) and good service. Our server was kind and just amazing!
Amazing food and service. Restaurant is a little small and will fill up quickly.
I love Gyubee! Fantastic food and service. Make sure you join the waitlist as it gets very busy even on weekdays. Usually there is no spot available after 8 pm. Plenty of free parking spot is available.
$30 lunch menu is very limited compared to other locations of Gyubee in Toronto. Long lineups before 12 noon opening time. Get there by 11:45 am. Food quality and quantity is less than other locations.
Amazing food and great ambience. Felt nice to experience the joy of grill frying at a great location
Excellent food and reasonably priced. Really enjoyed it
Crème brûlée is delicious
Best BBQ in the town. We come back here again and again and always have tasty food with great service. Thank you so much.
Was there hanging out with friends, NOT EATING i repeat NOT EATING, was told I cannot sit there and have to eat. I understand that it is a buffet but the way I was treated compared to the other east asian customers who were doing the same exact thing as me. Was told I have to pay mid way through my friends eating. All around terrible experience, our server was the only pleasant thing to happen to us in here. Manger on duty (one who forced the server to get me to pay) was clearly looking out to get me. Honestly would not recommend going here to hangout, terrible vibe, terrible management. Forgot to add the server was sharing how the manger that was on duty was also wrong, how do you enforce rules that your own employees don t agree with?! Had to be racially motivated especially since we were the only south asians in the restaurant. Environment also feels as if you re being watched for your every move. Disgusting!
We love the food here. However, recently they changed their kids pricing based on height. If the kid s height is higher than 1.40 cm then they pay adult pricing. This is not fair and discouraging families with kids to go there. My son is 10 yrs old and about 1.45 cm so we had to pay adult price for him even though he ate half of an adult would eat.
ended up waiting about an hour, we were being told during check in that we will be sent a text message when table is ready. We went to the host to tell them when we got the text saying the table is ready, and asked when we will be seated. the host had an attitude telling us to be patient and wait for him to call us. everyone entered after us all got seated except for us. the reception had time to check their instagram instead of seating us. this is extremely dissappointing especially this is a restaurant ive came at least 5 times and syggesyed it to all my family and friends.
First time here and it never disappoints. The cuts of the meats are just right as well as the serving of the side dish. Easy on rice mate . For the happy ending, we had the crème brûlée and the melona taro.
The food is great, but waiting is horrible. Their waiting system is very awful and never willing to fix the problem. And table time is 2 hrs but they force you to do last order before 30 or 40mins table times done. Even they dont serve what you order and asking more tips. Food is great but staff is very rude and makes me uncomfortable.
Parking: Its located in a plaza with ample parking spots. Food
It is a true neighborhood gem. Delicious food and cozy atmosphere make every visit a delight. Highly recommend!
6 people with one grill, never again
Visiting Gyubee in Mississauga was a culinary delight. Starting with the beautifully marbled beef that practically melted on the grill, each bite was succulent and rich. The takoyaki was another hit, with just the right amount of crunch and topped with dancing bonito flakes a playful touch to the meal. The simplicity of the egg yolk, perfectly nestled atop the rice, added a creamy texture that complemented the savory meats beautifully. Sipping on the subtle broth between mouthfuls was like hitting the reset button on my taste buds, preparing me for more of those irresistible flavors. Its clear Gyubee knows their craft, offering a dining experience that s interactive and thoroughly enjoyable. A definite must-visit for anyone craving Japanese BBQ with a korean twist!
Everything here was a very nice experience, very good food, service is one of the best ones I have ever had, very welcoming Japanese grill, prices compared to service and food quality are very good, If you are in toronto you have to stop by here!!!
Great food and our server April was great as well. 1 grill for 6 people was a little hectic tho wish we had 2.
Loved the food and service. I didnt really like the kimichi, but overall, I enjoyed eating my food.
Great food, great service and good prices.
Excellent service I must say by Luan Tran. It was our first time and we were extremely impressed and left with a happy feeling. He guided us throughout the lunch time and familiarized with the food.
If you are looking for a good spot to get food this is it. If you are a group of people trying to get food, this may not be the best spot. For context me and my group had made reservations a few days prior with 6 people. When we had shown up for our time we had to wait an extra 20 minutes(not a huge deal I understand it was busy) when we had gotten seated they had put 6 of us at a table with 1 grill. That felt ridiculous because we where 5 grown men and to have 1 grill for all of us while we where hungry was extremely slow to cook. On top of having 6 people at a table for 4 they had us sit right in the middle of the room with chairs right in the aisle. There was not enough table top space for 6 people to have plates and drinks with room to reach and cook. I understand as a business the focus was to make money and get clients in. But when the priority shifts from the customer experience to making more money, customers tend to notice and feel taken advantage of. Please in the future educate your staff on how important the customer experience is to the success of any business. TLDR: group of 3 or less = good time, group of 5 or more = not great time, unless 2 grills.
Went for BBQ with friends. The place was packed on a Wednesday night which is good for the business. We were seated in the corner. Food was ok. The marinated steak was chewy for a medium rare cook. The miso marinated pork belly was the one I liked. The lamb was presented as just shredded meat, very small portion that just got burnt easily. Although, it was good according to my friends. There were shrimps, pineapple and we ordered soju. After the whole course, we ordered more meat. But we were surprised to get an order of shrimp even if we did not order. I think the crew who was tending our table misheard when my friend asked us if we wanted more shrimp which the other replied no. Im not a fan of shrimp because I got allergic to it. So, not to embarrass the crew, we just let her leave it on our table. And, you cant take out whatever you did not finish, in our case an extra item that we didnt order. Lesson: this place gets loud...so pls confirm every order so you dont get an item that you didnt order.
Was my first time at Gyubee, been looking forward to try it and it didnt fail me. Love the bibimbap omg- i wanted a third bowl but all the marinated meat are sooo good that i ddnt wanna get full that quick LMAO- plenty of parking spaces at the plaza-
Highly recommend! Gyubee is always a great choice for dinner, so many different options available. The servers are quick and attentive. Thank you to the manager Michelle for the great hospitality for me & my family!
Came here with 4 people for a night out on a Wednesday around 7pm. Service was great, they have a time limit of 2hours but honestly, they come around so often that the time goes by so fast and you keep eating without noticing. Quality of meat is really good , options are good and service staff are very friendly and informative. Would comeback again and recommend to others.
It was an exhilarating experience for my party of 16. As soon as we sat down, we were treated by the service crew like royalty. Most of our requests were attended right away, and they were always on standby. Be prepared to pay more on the weekends and holidays, and they dont take reservations for pax under 4 so dont be disappointed and just to give you a heads up, 15 % tip will automatically be added to your bill. Dont forget to try their cabbage, spinach salad, and salmon, Ive ordered it on repeat. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the quality, quantity, and service provided to our party and will definitely be back. Kid-friendliness: It accommodates families with young children
If you like meat and have a large appetite, this is the place to be. Some great tasting options and decent variety and the service is quick however no reservations unless you are a group of 6 which sucks since wait lists get loooong. Parking is plentiful and price is abput the same as all you can eat sushi options. A nice place to treat yourself on occasion .
They dont even cook the food for you
Great experience, excellent food.
My two 10yo daughters paid full adult prices although they ate very little because the restaurant goes by height (140cm) and my daughters were 141cm. Our six adults ended up paying ~$500. Service was ok but made us feel pressure to leave asap. Understood the decisions but food and service are certainly not worth it.
Been there 3 times now, had a chance to try lunch and dinner. You get better options with dinner obviously but lunch menu was still good with plenty of options to choose from. Their meats are well marinated and service was really good, second time i went, the service was slow but to her defense I noticed she was the only one taking orders in our side of the restaurant. My experience was still good, came out and ate some delicious food. Hands down one of my favorite restaurants to go to.
Went there around 21:05, the Google said last call is 21:45, and receptionist said last call at 21:35-21:40. We said ok pretty good enough time for us to order couple rounds within 30mins. Food took at least 10mins to come, and the server did the last call at 21:25. We asked for 2 orders of marinated beef and it came with small portions (we thought there was 2orders size), therefore we order 2 orders of marinated beef at the last call and it came with 2 large plate. We don t want to waste food but the size to compare with previous order was big difference, end up we couldn t even finish it.
Food and service are amazing, but make sure you watch and join the waitlist at 4:30pm to get a spot!
Luan was fantastic, very attentive and provides great service.
We came on a Monday night and it was very busy, but we got a table quickly. The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere, very clean and not too noisy. The food was delicious and the service was great. Would definitely go back!
Great place to eat the food is delicious!
tasty
First time here after looking at a few AYCE bbq places. Luckily made a reservation or would not have gotten a table the wait time was 2 hours for a Thursday night. There was 6 of us and was seated at our reservation time. The services was great the waitress was very helpful and the food for cooking arrived quickly. The meat selection was not as large as some other bbq restaurants, however quality was great. Would definitely come back. Parking: In a strip mall so parking was not an issue
Nice place nice food
Amazing experience will be back nice and fresh
DIY cooking experience with lots of tasty options Parking: Free parking outside the restaurant which is shared with Toys R Us Food : 5/5 |
not the best but good for try
