Very tasty food and large portions but the flavours could be a bit more balanced. Pretty much every dish went super heavy on spices and sometimes it was hard to taste the underlying meats or veggies. The atmosphere is also definitely sports bar like. It’s dimly lit and generally well furnished but not luxurious. The smells from the spices and kitchen waft everywhere. The bar is really the highlight of the place. I wouldn’t recommend the steamed momos simply because they put a bit too much masala powder on top for garnishing and it overpowers the flavour of the actual momo. I would recommend the Tandoori Pomfret, Sussex Murgh Changezi, Tawa Meat, Paneer Lababdar and Khamiri Roti
We visited Desi Bar & Grill on our way to Niagara from Toronto. An awesome stop for all desi food. Beautiful ambience good food, great service. Meet, our attendant was great and gave a personal touch to the service. We kept trying his recommendations till we could not take any more. My wife was more happy since 95% of the tracks being played were from her playlist. We highly recommend this place to couples as well as families. We had our 2 young boys with us too and atmosphere is family friendly.
I was in Toronto for a day and end up at this place for dinner .. It was a great experience especially with the ambiance and staff. Rubel (I hope I remember her name correctly ) was great at bar and I liked the old fashioned she made(Much different than I had back in US).. Choice of music was also great .. Food was good but found more on heavy side .. I should have mentioned to use less oil but this remind me my days in Punjab 20 years back .. Overall, good experience and highly recommended!!
We used to love this restaurant quite a bit, but all of our recent experiences have been extremely disappointing. We found a piece of hair in one of the appetizers. The restaurant did replace it but the second time around the dish tasted like it was not fresh. It was also not made according to the specific request we had provided the second time around. The hygiene seems to have gone for a toss based on our last few visits. Coming to the service – It is so slow that we watched our drinks sit on the bar counter for a good 20 mins before they were brought to our table. Same thing happened with the bill. After we had asked for the bill, our server came back 15 mins later to reconfirm that we just need the bill. The live music, although a nice touch, is deafening – It is so loud that it is impossible to enjoy the songs or food. I have to wear my noise cancelling headphones to not compromise my hearing. The restaurant should really re-evaluate their hygiene if not anything else.
We recently visited Desi Bar&Grill for dinner as a group of 11, intrigued by the 4.7 star rating and over 19,000 reviews online. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t live up to those numbers. The evening started off well with appetizers, particularly the kebabs in the Goshtkhor and Shakahaari platters, which were flavorful and well-cooked. However, things took a turn as we moved to other dishes. The curries, like Sussex Murgh Changezi and Lamb Shank Nihari, Chicken Rascalla lacked depth and flavor, and the Pizza Kulcha and creamy chilli chicken were overwhelming with creaminess, leaving us uncomfortably full. The Shaadi Wale Chowmein was excessively oily, and the creamy dishes felt too heavy, making it hard to enjoy anything afterwards. While the kurkure spring rolls were fine, we struggled to finish most of the food and ended up leaving a lot behind. Disappointingly, the hyped-up review count online seems misleading, so make sure to check the actual content of those reviews before trusting the high rating, because when you start scrolling down, it ends and I don’t think it would reach at least 2000 reviews which is not even half of what they’re showing online, be smart to check the rating and content of the reviews prior. The service by Rubal was attentive and friendly, and she did her best to accommodate us, so this review is not a reflection on her excellent service, she was great and my rating and review is clearly for the disappointment in the food and taste and the fake hype. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience, and we wouldn’t recommend going based on the online ratings alone.
We chose to finally review and visit the Desi Bar & Grill and it was a memorable one to say the least! The service was very friendly, timely and attentive while not being swarmy. The food itself was served very hot and fresh with some great elemental plating. A fresh and urban take on classic flavours. They were not afraid to adventure into the realm of salt and the tenderness and seasoning in the meats were delightful. We had a great time and would definitely go again for a date night outside of our review, as the atmosphere was really light and enjoyable. A big thanks to Meet (our kind and funny server) and the entire staff for preparing all of those dishes for us with your heart behind each one. If you are looking for a great place to eat on a night out or with the entire family. Look no further than Desi Bar & Grill!
We as family of 4 ordered vegetarian dishes, all are good in quantity, taste was awesome and Rashi our server was really good, she suggests corn palak and vege momos to try when we asked, and both dishes were delicious. I can ignore little things as food steals our heart ❤️
We came for 4 days trip to Toronto and we had nice Indian food here after two days. Apart from waiting time, food was very good. Once we got the seats, service of Divyansh was very quick. He took order before we got the table and served very quickly. He is polite as well. Great job.

Food was ohk...I have ordered kadai paneer which was sweet Lil bit. The thing which I dont like is the atmosphere...too much noisy...if anyone like calm good music then pls dont go otherwise you will need to take pain killer for headache.

The Food was great all curries and breads were delicious, but was high in price as compared to regular restaurants , but the service was slow they were hardly 3 server during dinner rush .The server was not giving right orders he has to ask each and every table about orders before giving. Worth food have on celebration. Server s don t listens and just bring the food and one word oh I m sorry. We ask the server about kids friendly menu. He said it s Indian restaurant we don t serve kids meal here. Pizza kulcha is the worth fired with tomatoes sauce and no cheese, show to my server but he was not in mood to listen today. At last I told him we are here for anniversary celebration can you make something special. He comes with the mung dal halwa with candle in it. When he took out the candle from the meal it was all melted inside the halwa and after that show them what he did trying to get it from the table. Seriously no manner owner should hire trained server it s not the food make the restaurant successful but waiting staff and servers too. Just spoil our day of celebration. My daughter said we will never come back to this place.
