2580 Shepard Ave, Mississauga, ON L5A 4K3, Canada
Unassuming eatery serves up a range of hearty Indian & Pakistani cooking, made with halal meat.
Tabaq Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience. I ordered the tawa qeema (ground beef), and it was absolutely delicious—packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. The tandoori naans were a great complement to the dish, fresh from the oven and wonderfully soft. The portion size was generous, and the price was very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. I’m definitely looking forward to returning for more! Highly recommended
First time here. Had heard good reviews. Run solely by women Nihari was too good and it did not have the packet wala taste so there’s that. Could do better with the halwa puri nashta like improve the chola and the chai it was too milky for my taste. Other than that don’t expect a fancy cafeteria. Imagine sitting at a lahori dhaba. That’s the ambiance they are going for. If you’re in the area from the time 10am-2pm I would recommend getting desi nashta. But only if you’re in the area. It’s not worth the trek.
Good is good but I order for 16 people and they only gave for 8 people. When you order and pick up you don’t know how much they are giving. They are ripping people off. I rather pay more and get more food. Never going back.
This is a restaurant in a small food court, in the Newin Centre. The food is hot and delicious. My favorite is their Channa Bhatura. The Channa is Pindi-style and absolutely delicious! It is one possibly one of the best Pindi Channa I have had from a restaurant. You can also get their Channa Naan combo also. The naan is made fresh in a Tandoor, and is very soft and enjoyable to eat. I’ve tried their Boneless Chicken Tikka (which is made in a Tandoor), and it was also very good. I highly recommend trying this restaurant’s menu items. You won’t be disappointed.
Top spot for desi nashta. The ambiance is of a no frills food court style style with a nostalgic sense of dolmen centre or rainbow center in Karachi. Halwa poori is spot on. Although I liked the alu way more than the channa. The desi omelet with paratha is uff, uff, uff! .. chai, not so much. Nihari was delicious as well with their tandoori till wali naan. Just don't expect five-star service. The ladies there are doing a good job.
We tried halwa poori it was good, chai was also really good, hygiene is also a problem they dont wear gloves , service was not that good, it seems people working their dont like their job, and sitting environment is not good for old people.i will add videos do check hygiene
This was our go to place for nashta. Best paye, halwa puri and parathay. It’s a hit or miss. Sometimes exceptional and one time we went paye were not that great. But a must try !
It should be really good. Almost had it for 10 years on weekends. Now the quality seems to have gone down. They have bought shop in between. Bought samosas from there and they were cold as if they were from last few days.
The keep onn hanging up my call
Really nice !
God Good
Food wasn t good at all.
We came all the way from Hamilton. I am happy quality is exactly the same as it used to be when we lived in Mississauga. This was our go-to place for weekend breakfast since the early 2000s.
I m going to Tabaq restaurant since almost 15 plus years and it s the best Pakistani breakfast and the Nihari is the best in all GTA . The only thing is that I don t appreciate is not about the restaurant it s the crowed or customers our Dasi ppl hv no manners how to order they cut throw lines reorder extras and not respect the line ,actually they don t no how to respect the line for order the food . If u guys can tolerate unmannerly crowd . The restaurants hv really good food
Very very poor service or worst if there is any word which express more then worst I would use that word. If u know anybody in there then u will get good service. Behavior of worker really really bad. Dine in area too hot. I will never ever recommend anybody to go there. I hope Mr. Jameel (owner) he take some action otherwise ur employee gonna ruin your all effort like me I never ever gonna go to your restaurant.
Their chole bhature are the best
One of my favourite spot for breakfast
extremely disappointed because of the price for such a cheaper product, you are charging high-price Revisit your pricing menu Food
Usually very crowded and dirty area
I loved their puri so fresh. And great customer service thanks
Excellent customer service and Aunty Noor is very kind and other staff members are also very polite and the food is very good and highly recommended to all.
Amazing halwa puri .. if u r looking for pakistani taste ..
We both felt AWFUL after eating there last night. There was nothing else we both ate that day. Never going back! Do not go there unless you want your stomach to hurt more than ever before the next day.
Delicious halwa puri
Loved it
Ignoring the space to sit and eat. I loved the halwa puri and chai. Decent nihari and amazing fresh butter naan. Food : 5/5 |
In literal terms, you will find yourself back home eating their food! This over 10 years of experience eating at Tabaq
Excellent halwa puri, perfect gem
Excellent food. Home cooked taste. Had paya and karela ghost. Both very good. Reasonable prices. Generous portions.
Horrible, I ordered delivery, paye, it comes with two pieces of meat and no naan, not very edible. Mango lassi is very watery.
Best Authentic Lahori Nastha . They have a tandoor like the ones back home, so you get fresh authentic Lahori kulcha and chikkar cholay. Ive been coming here for over 10 years now and cant seem to stop. The closest thing Ive found to Lahori kulcha cholay so far
Reasonable prices and professional staff.
Good place for breakfast at low price.
This restaurant is so bad I had very bad experienced like I ordered halwa puri and I was the first customer she suppose to give me my order first but she didnt give me first. She gave it to someone else that they knew them before what kind of service they have its too rude and mean
Unclean filthy. And smelly. Never again
Best best bestttt halwa puri I have ever had
Taste, choice, price you name it. Definitely, one of the best in town. Thank you Haji Jameel! Your food is awesome and happy to see you always Food : 5/5
Need to try out this place...loved what I got.
good authentic pakistani breakfast
Its one of my favorite places. Love the food, atmosphere, and such nice people and friendly. Must try their Food. They have real Lahori taste. Must recommend
They failed peel public health inspection and eating their food could cause you to get extremely sick. The food was not fresh, the staff are rude as hell, it s a ridiculously unsanitary kitchen and working conditions and they charge you money for a takeout container and bag!!! I wouldn t recommend ever.
Had halwa poori nashta and chai. The food was great and the staff was friendly.
I had to wait 50 minutes just to have my breakfast.
Halea puri is out of this world. Better get ready to order more puris as you eat those delicious chanay and halwa. You dont go here for the atmosphere. Chai is awesome but after you drink the lassi. I hear that paey and naan are wonderful. Maybe next time.
Great food. Arrogant staff
Hygiene and cleanliness does not exist in this establishment and this mall at all, be warned.
Great food and the prices are very reasonable. On the weekends, its packed. Vegetarian options: There are a lot of vegetarian options. Food : 5/5 |
Service has gone to lowest levels of worst. Very poor pathetic service. The laddies at cash and the aunty are so rude and they make mistakes and not even acknowledge and listen!
Tastiest food but pathetic environment to sit relax and eat.
Had to wait half an hour
The food is great, the restaurant is family run, take out is a good option. Dine in not so good
Puri breakfast is a must try. Food over all is amazing and worth the money.
If you are looking for desi casual meals on daily basis, it is your spot then. Must try chicken karahi.
Good food Vegetarian options: Good option Parking: Plenty of parking
BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR OVER 10 YEARS ONLY TO BE RUDELY SPOKEN TO OR DENIED A FIX IN THEIR SERVICE AND ARGUE. THE STAFF IS EXTREMLEY UNPROFESSIONAL AND ISOLENT. BOUGHT LARGE FRIES $7.00 BUT THE QUANTITY WAS EVEN LESS THAN MEDIUM SIZE. WHEN I ASKED THEM TO ATLEAST FILL IT UP BECAUSE THEY PUT SO LESS IN A LARGE BOX THE LADY RUDELY REFUSED AND SAID IT WOULD BE EXTRA. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION AS THEY DO NOT VALUE OR RESPECT CUSTOMERS AT ALL. SHAMEFUL SERVICE!
Gotten v expensive the prices have shot up
I love it
Halwa puri breakfast
Breakfast tastes as good as it did in Pakistan
The food is not so cheap. Taste wise, it s not very delicious and in fact, very spicy. I tried their murg chana, nehari and tawa qeema. These all come in less quantities. They should increase the quantities. The parthas are expensive, a simple plain partha that neither resembles with pori nor with partha. They need to maintain a good cleanliness and hygiene in their sitting area. There is a long waiting time during the weekend for breakfast. The restaurant is downstairs in the basement. There is a free parking upstairs however during weekends in the morning and afternoon, it s difficult to find spot.
Very tasty food, especially their breakfast
Their food is really nice. Halwa puri is yummy. Brings back so many memories from back home. Sitting area, parking and location is little hit and miss. Otherwise food is really nice. Best for take out. Food
We bought naan, kebabs and chana from here and the chana were not fresh. After one day, they started smelling bad and the kebabs were not fresh either. That s how these businesses lose good customers that come pretty often to buy food from them. One more thing we found out is that their kitchen is not clean. Customer service is pretty bad too, the staff is disrespectful on the phone. Health inspector should visit this location ASAP.
Good food
Owner of the store is good Staff need some education specialy Afternoon and evening shift how to deal with customer
Cant wait to go back. The nun and Haleem taste good also halwa puri. Quema is okay. Paratha is Good too.
If you are visiting Tabaq, or any other place here, you are coming for the cheap/ decent food and not the ambiance as there isn t much. Located inside the mall, you have to walk past a series of random stores, handful of barbers to get to the food court. There is a decent amount of seating available, but be prepared to wait for a table. Limited sitting for a large family (to sit together). There are several stores offering the same food but Tabaq had the longest line. What I enjoyed was seeing all these women all different ages working, it appeared to be a family business. There was an assembly line to get through the orders quickly. I ordered and received my food fairly quickly. You cat go wrong with a $7.99 nashta. The puri was good. The chick peas were flavourful, the halwa was soft (almost runny) it came paired with raitaa & acchar (pickled mango). The flavour wasn t bad, I didn t find everything to be a little oily, wasn t able to finish it. The chai was good. Overall, for a cheap Pakistani breakfast, I would recommend it!
Nice food
Nice restaurant especially for the breakfast puree halwa and other options too.
Very friendly service and good products.
Amazing food and Great service!!!!
I love Tabaq!
Ps don t go to Tabaq restaurant as they serve old frozen biryani plus their nihari sucks 2small best cubes. N expensive Chana s also very small serving n. High rates the ladies there. Lie with you
Best halwa puri in Mississauga.
Amazing people and amazing authentic food. Pricing is very reasonable, especially for the quantity and the taste. Very hard working people. Amazing to see a small women owned business thrive.
I had great experience with tabaq .Best place to visit and try desi breakfast
Taking
It was great experience and not expensive, recommended
Staff is so rude ,sometimes food is not fresh and if complained they start fighting and said we just cook now ,in weekend I tried too and get good food,in week days try ur luck ,
We love Tabaq ,every weekend and every special ocasion we like to come at tabaq.
Best food quality and quantity... All the Ladys are working behind the counter, Professional... Mississaugas Best Food Restaurant TABAQ... We really enjoyed the food... Jazaak Allahu... Parking: Not bad at all... Kid-friendliness: All I have to say, Great job Ladys...
I called this restaurant to ask if they serve hand slaughtered meat or machine slaughtered and then the receptionist/owner just said i dont know and dropped the call. Why most of these desi restaurants have so rude behaviour..
Best ever . Must try !!!
Excellent food
Tried their halwa puri Nashta for the very first time and and its must try for authentic taste I would always go for their Nashta Naans were very soft, live in front of you. Since its in a food court so there are some concerns over the space, cleanliness but if youre doing a take-away then its fine. I would recommend to expand in a better place to give customers a wonderful dining experience!
Delicious and much variety available to choose from.
Love Aunty chaneee so goood everything and in the morning you go fresh chanee waoooh beat the Lahore chaneee
10/10. Great Taste Respectful Staff Affordable Prices. Food : 5/5 |
Ordered Paya. It was so so, bot wow.
Good food
The best nihari in Sauga going there since 2009 Kid-friendliness: Mostly families come here Recommended dishes Halwa Puri Nashta and Nihari Parking space
They increase too much price and very less quantity even small puri 1:50 +t each if they increase price they shouldn t give very less quantity even tea looks they make microwave i have to throw it poor quality now
There food is always on point. Recommend takeout
Expensive if we compare their food pricing with the food quality.
Excellent taste and their mutton karahi is the best I have had in Canada till date.
We ordered Nihari, plain Naan and halwa puri combo The food is amazing and delicious. The nihari portion was more then enough for 2 ppl. Definitely going again. Food : 5/5 |
Good quality pakistani breakfast
Good food and service.
Moli wala partaha ,halwa puri ,food yam yam ,unforgettable experience since been visiting there 5 years....good delicious pakistani food
Best food any thing you eat, best taste and of course chipest price with dine in take out as well as you can get delivered
Excellent puri halwa in canada.
If you want to try amazing Pakistani food, I think this is a place to go
Absolute disaster this place. Unhygienic kitchen conditions of the restaurants. Cook, servers, cashier are the same persons handling food, roti dough with their bare hands while holding washroom key from different customers. Main dishes were served in a disposible paper plate. Poor quality of food and horrible taste. Our family had bad stomach after consuming their food. I will report unhygienic conditions to Canada Foods Inspection Agency.
Delicious food at a great price
Average
Quality is going nose down very fast .Better bring back previous taste and quality
My favorite dish is haleem with fresh naan
Just came back from this restaurant. Terrible food quality. I ordered butter chicken and chicken quarter leg tikka with two roti. The food was stale and tasteless. Tikka is probably days old. You can never have a fresh food here. Wasted my money and learned my lesson. Not recommended.
A Taste of Authentic Pakistani Cuisine in Tabaq. Nestled in the heart of Mississauga, Tabaq is a hidden gem that promises a remarkable culinary journey through the flavors of Pakistan. This family-owned restaurant has certainly raised the bar with its authentic and delicious dishes, warm hospitality, and inviting ambiance. From the moment we stepped foot inside, we were greeted with a smile and whisked away by the vibrant and aromatic atmosphere. The interior is tastefully decorated with traditional Pakistani artwork, creating an inviting space that immerses diners in the countrys rich culture. The menu at Tabaq is an absolute delight for food enthusiasts, boasting a wide range of dishes that capture the essence of Pakistani cuisine. The food here is prepared with great care and attention to detail, ensuring the flavors are true to their origin. We started our culinary journey with the succulent Seekh Kebabs, followed by the mouthwatering Chicken Biryani, which had the perfect combination of fragrant rice, tender chicken, and a harmonious blend of spices. Another highlight of our dining experience was the impeccable service. The staff at Tabaq are attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about their food. They went above and beyond to explain the different dishes and recommend their specialties, making our dining experience personalized and memorable. To complement the meal, Tabaq offers an extensive selection of Pakistani beverages, including freshly squeezed fruit juices and traditional lassi. We indulged in the refreshing Mango Lassi, a sweet and creamy yogurt-based drink that perfectly balanced the richness of the dishes. Despite the authentic flavors, the prices at Tabaq are surprisingly reasonable, offering excellent value for money. Whether dining with friends, family, or hosting a special event, this restaurant provides the perfect setting for an unforgettable Pakistani culinary experience. Dont miss out on this gastronomic adventure - come and savor the true taste of Pakistan at Tabaq.
Great place for Desi Nashta etc.
Liars. They put low prices in their menu to fool people, but charge you extra. Nihari in their menu is $10.99 but they charged me $12.99 without informing me prices are different. Here is the proof.
Wait time is CRAZY LONG!!!
Family Pakistani and Indian cuisine. The ladies are kind, but serves mean meat. Tempts you to marry into their family just for the food.
Food is good, however the place need renovation.
Overall bad experience, I wasnt satisfied with food portion and quality as compared to the price.
Very tasty food
The quality of food is extremely bad .
Long time customer. Its not bad.
If youre looking for desi Lahori breakfast this is the place we go there every weekend .love their halwa puri .haleem and channay.
These ladies are awesome.
The food is amazing but the service is garbage. The ladies that are working in there take forever to make your food. They talk more and work less.
The food, the service and the atmosphere are all great. They really good halwa puri (breakfast) and their regular dishes taste great as well. The best thing is that theyve kept the prices closer to what people can afford.
I went there first time, Halwa puri and anda paratha reminded me of Pakistan. Paratha and anda was exactly the copy of the way my mom makes it. And then I took sarson ka saag, mix sabzi, palak paneer and chicken biryani for home. Really it made my day, Now I am craving to go home in Karachi.. All the food is made by Aunties which gives it the authentic taste of home made food. And then they made fresh tea in front of me which I have never ever seen in USA or Canada. It was worth it to drive 2 hours and have that food. And the prices were half as compared to other restaurants in Canada and USA. Vegetarian options: Sarson ka saag and mix sabzi and channa are the best.
Great Nihari and amazing naan. Must try. I made shorts on this restaurant and other popular restaurants in Toronto. Please check the shorts on sarmadthewanderer channel on YouTube
Have been eating their breakfast thali..halwa puri chanay alo since 12 years...the best in town.seating area is not the best ambiance i rather takeout and eat at home.service is ok by the ladies working..seems like they hate their work and just trying best to finish their shift.
