Amazing portions, delicious food. Got the mixed platter and the chicken saj. I really like the chicken shawarma here, not greasy and full of flavor. Traditional flavours. It gets pretty busy at lunch time so recommend coming early as the food takes some time to prepare. Got some of their lentil soup at the end, so good!!!

Absolutely fabulous! I must say it s bang for the buck. Prices are reasonable but portions are huge! I had a soup to start not knowing about the pork souvlaki after. Just delicious and filling. I ll be back.

Ordered steak and eggs which came with potatoes which I cannot eat since Im on kidney dialysis. I asked to substitute the potatoes for salad instead I will pay for it but the waitress adamantly said no way Really other restaurants accommodate always. Thanks peter.

We had an absolutely lovely lunch at Peters. Food, service, ambience, hospitality. It was all there. Hadnt thought to visit since pre COVID as the location is a little out of the way for our family and we usually came after visiting Assumption Cemetery. No need to wait for a reason. Absolutely amazing place. Ive been coming here with my family for over 20 years. Ive Never had one bad thing to say about this spot nor will i ever. Everyone I know that eats here also loves it. The atmosphere is beautiful as well, classy. You Definitely must try it out. The portions and the prices are Both very FAIR.

The decor is circa 1983 old and dated. The food is absolutely terrible like something resembling frozen dinner. Totally overpriced for the sauce drenched garbage. I went there 10 years ago and didn t like it then just as much as I didn t like it now

So this place has so much potential to be a excellent restaurant, but it just doesnt quite hit the notes. The host was sitting down facing away from the door when I came in. It was confusing when he suddenly got up and started talking to me. He wasnt super pleasant either, but I generally dont care about that. Instead of seating me at a window two seater, he tried to sit me in the middle of the place on a 4 top, right next to another table with 4 people. Like, one, why not the two seater, Im just one person and second, why right next to another FULL table when the place is empty? I asked for the window and he immediately moved me there without issues though. The place is old and dated looking, but that COULD be part of the charm. The waitress was friendly and capable. Lets talk food: The smoked meat was absolutely delicious!! The fries could be great, but they were not seasoned at all, no salt, nothing. And because of the way these fries are, adding salt after the fact is impossible, it just bounces off and ends up everywhere except on the fries. These style of potatoes need to be seasoned in a bowl as soon as they come out of the fryer. The rye bread, definitely was NOT rye, it was some other kind of thick breas. I had asked for the rye to be toasted, which they did, although it was a bit overdone. Perhaps they misunderstood that I wanted toast instead of rye, which is not what I wanted. Coleslaw was great! Drained (its not the creamy kind), which was great, nothing worse than a bunch of vinegar on the plate being soaked up by the bread and fries. I think I would have preferred it to be creamy though and in a bowl separately. The presentation could use some tweaks too. The open end of both sides should face the fries on the plate. Its minor, but I noticed it, so Im mentioning it. Ill come again if I go to the area again. Hoping the restaurant takes feedback and works to improve these little things that could just elevate the place a bit.

The place is a must visit , the atmosphere ,service and the taste , you have to try the deli , insure to order local draft beer to enjoy the experience more , the portions is very big , ensue to pass by while you are near by the airport, a free parking is available in front of the restaurant.

We went here because we coming from USA and A Friend Recommend this. The Food Is Good but the service is Not Good and We Have a Really Bad Experince with the Service. The server rush us Getting our Drinks then waited for 30minutes and tell us we have to wait because she need to finish her other table. then The Food came Good. But after she Gave us Food she never come back to us. We feel that the server dont like us being there or Being serve and when I walked out and see me ask me why im leaving seriouly i did not even touch the calamari I order. I will never ever want to bad mouth a Server because I my self Was in Hospitality Industry. But we Would Like to thank the Owner who step Up and Apologize to us and We really Appreciate Him for How he being in Good with customers. He also Give us a Gift Certificate all though we cant Used it we Still Appreciate him for Trying and Being Nice. We hope they change the Service so A lot of Customers Come in and Enjoy the Good Ambiance and Family Friendly Dine In.

Great local restaurant with classic servers. Enjoyed the smoked meat sandwich in particular. Seems to be a very popular place and it was a very lively atmosphere on site.

You cant finish the food they give you. Well Id you do finish it... You should visit a doctor. Lol. Good menu and super Large portions always leftover for my lunch the next day. Perfect example of a great Greek diner/restaurant. An unfortunate dying breed of restaurant experience. Peters on Eglinton is a good place to eat.

If you ever visit mississauga, you must try Peters on Elglinton. The Souvlaki is my favorite, fresh food, huge portions and tons of meat! Been coming here since I was a kid, we just had takeout with the family and the standards have not changed. The staff are great, always accommodate your needs.

Peters Restaurant serves a perfect Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich! Including the correct rye bread! A proud Montrealer... saved us a trip back to Schwartzes or Dunns! Highly recommend for those who miss their authentic Montreal Smoked Meat sandwich! Food

Bad experience. We were served first with dirty plates and the main dish had hair in it. When I told the server about it she asked what I want to do with it. She said that they were about to close and couldn t do anything about it. No apologies at all but you could see how annoyed she was with my complaints. In the end she just handed us the bill and no words at all from her, no goodnight or anything about what happened. Rude server and not sure how I feel about the food. After seeing the hair just made me feel sick and lost my appetite. They also charge $5 extra for sharing food.

Pleasant restaurant, with old school friendly family atmosphere

First time we went to this restaurant and it will be our last. The food were not that great. The soup was salty. We ordered baked lasagna when it was served it looked like puke on a plate. The pork souvlaki dinner the meat was over cooked and roast potatoes were bland its like boiled potato. Their prices are pretty hefty for the quality you get. Atmosphere is just ok but definitely needs to be remodernized.

Gem of a find Stumbled upon this amazing retro way back in the day ambience of a restaurant while in Mississauga. Read the good reviews and decided why not. Service was old school make you feel at home. Ambience took us way back to the 80 s with wallpapered walls and stained glass lighting. Food portions were massive like it used to be. The price for what you got made me feel like there was honest people again. We ordered a smoked meat, chicken and Reuben sandwich. All plates came with fries and lots of coleslaw. Quality of food was amazing. If you re in Mississauga, its a must try. We will definitely go back.

I have veen going to Peters fir years and my experience on 06/23/24 , my meal was the worst fish scallops and shrimp dinner is the worst for the dollar value. For the service it was terrible and naybr it was because we where just two ladies having dinner. I ve heard Peters food is not the same and I thing this is true.

Wow! A restaurant with no TV screens and no loud music! Thank you! And the portions are truly HUGE! Delicious food: lasagne, (small) souvlaki, and clubhouse sandwich. Couldn t eat dessert but the cakes looked lovely. Reasonably priced, too. Lovely decor and efficient, friendly service everything you want in a restaurant.

We got a gorgeous corner seat overlooking Eglington and the sunset. The salmon was beautifully prepared and absolutely delicious. Side order of mushrooms is a must. The cake was bouncy and light and made of dreams. Ill definitely be back! Parking: Tons of parking, lot goes all the way back.

For years we have been coming. Often I have had the grilled Swiss and Ham sandwich. Yesterday I was disappointed to experience a thin slice of deli ham and two slices of process Swiss cheese. This is NOT how this sandwich has been made for years. Process cheese? Really? Disappointing.

The portions of the food were massive. But the food was just average. My food came with the soup of the day and some bread. The soup of the day was salty. And my main course was salmon steak with rice and vegetables. The salmon was alright but the rice and vegetables seemed like they didn t have any flavour at all. The place was extremely busy and the parking lot was full . The service by the staff was good! They were prompt in cleaning the tables and getting the menu for their customers. Use to live in Mississauga 20 years ago till I move north , was the best food and best service ever and still has not changed, the owner is always there to greet you and the man has not age at all since I seen him last , he has servers still working for him for 30 years , this man is doing it right and knows how to run a business. Portions are massive and so good , and he doesnt inflate his prices like many other businesses after all these years . Drop by if your in the area you wont be disappointed!

Ive been coming here for years. The servers have actually gotten kinder, lol, but the food has changed (maybe a new, not-as-good chef?), but its still yummy, and the portions are humongous, and the price is right.

Massive portions, but the food was alright. Didn t think anything was exceptional, but nothing was bad. Serves you exactly what you want, and is nice and comforting food. I wasn t a fan of the pickles, however, and I love pickles. The staff was incredibly, incredibly friendly. Honestly, would be back just for the service alone.

my family and I have been eating here for 20 years. left town for a while and went in to eat for the first time since before covid. to my shock, nothing has changed one bit. the food is still fantastic, the portions are GENEROUS, the prices are supremely reasonable and the service is charming as ever. it is so rare to see a spot uphold such high standards for so long. peter knows how to run a restaurant, that s for sure. may they stay open forever. i will be eating here until i am grey

We knew going in the portions were going to be big. My friend and I shared the calamari, we ate about half between the 2 of us. We shared the fish platter, the deep fried scallops were a little overdone on the outside. The waitress forgot our drink order until we reminded her that we were still waiting. She did apologize and bring them out to us. There was a lot of people around lunchtime so it was a little hard to have a conversation with the person sitting right in front of you. I would go again and maybe try something else on the menu.

Visited this resturant for the first time with a group a friend. We were pleased with our experience there. The server was really friendly and gave us recommendations of popular items. I never had a smoke meat sandwich before so we tried The Ruben was great. The meat was tender juicy,and well seasoned. The portions are very generous. It could very easily be shared with two people. Its a great value. We came at noon when it opened. Within 15 minutes the resturants was packed. The services was quick and efficient. The other patrons were very friendly and we struck up comversation with near by table. I would definitely visit again. Its like one of those old school diners that you see on tv.

Massive plates and great value at this old school family-run restaurant. My family usually select an Asian restaurant for family gatherings but wanted something different this time. We made reservations for a late Sunday lunch and there was plenty of room for the 12 of us. I liked that we could choose from 3 distinct menus; Breakfast, Main and Deli. I chose from the deli menu and had the Smoked Meat Sandwich ($19.95). The dish was massive and I only was able to eat half. It came with plenty of fries and a big portion of coleslaw. Nothing can compare to the deli sandwich I had in New York but this was pretty decent. From the main menu a few people had the Single Halibut Fish & Chips ($21.95), one had the Grilled Baby Beef Liver ($21.95), and one person chose the Breaded Scallops ($26.95). My brother ordered the Chicken Primavera pasta ($24.95) and it was loaded with chicken. He couldn t finish it and brought the rest home for dinner. All the mains came with soup of the day, rolls and butter. My sister and her husband had the the Small Souvlaki Dinner ($23.95) which was not so small. It came with 3 skewers of pork. My sister commented that the meat was tasty and moist and the dressing on the salad was creamy and flavourful. She couldn t manage to eat her potato. Again, they ended up taking leftovers home. A few chose to eat appetizers and ordered French Onion au Gratin ($8.95) and Julienne Salad ($18.95), a Tossed Green Salad ($9.95) and Deep Fried Calamari ($23.95). Each person enjoyed what they ordered. Our server Lydia (I hope that s her name) always had a smile and handled our table really well.

Love this place! Such a classic restaurant. Service here is why it s one of my all time favourite places. The servers are absolutely amazing! Friendly, attentive and just over all excellent at their job. The portions are also massive here. I got the Rueben, first time trying it here since I always get the souvlaki. It was pretty good! But I think I d stick with my regular order next time. Definitely need to try the souvlaki if it s your first time here.. I know the pork should be the star of the show. But the rice here is soooooo delicious.

Worst service ever left most of the food after half 40 minutes wait. And at the end when we asked for the bill she said tips already included we checked the bill tips are not there she add 20% tip on the machine without telling us maybe I wanna add more or less

This place hasnt changed in 30 years and I hope it never does. Im going to say it, and it might make your blood boil, but Id take a sandwich here over Schwartzs any day of the week. Ive never finished one and Im not sure a human can, but its worth a try. Ive long ago left Ontario, but make a point of visiting when Im back.

The Reuben. I had The Reuben! I never had one before. I am glad that this was the place I had my first one. This restaurant is incredible to say the least. The absolute nicest stain d glass throughout. More meat in this Sandwich than I have ever seen between bread! Amazing. A must. Stop in for The Reuben.

We went here for dinner after work recently. My co-workers raved about the sandwiches. I personally like my liquid dinner. They make a nice Long Island Ice Tea.

It s a restaurant that you could walk into clean nice people greeting you at the door and as you walk in great seats even the ceiling was clean. I was looking at that anyways food was awesome. I was skeptical about this place. We arrived around 5 pm and had to wait for a table. It was packed and it wasnt lunch or dinner yet. We ordered the Reuben and Small pork souvlaki. The portions were huge. Had to take some home. Food was great. Would definitely go back if Im ever in the area. Id want to try some of the other items.

What an amazing place to eat. The place was packed at lunch, and the sandwhich I had, (smoked meat on rye) with fries and a pickle and slaw.... was mouth watering. The slaw wasnt my favorite but everything else was phenomenal.

A classic pub great atmosphere and food.

We would ve given a 0 but the lowest star was a 1 We found a hair on a potatoe almost at the end of our meal, but no matter when we found it, it was still disgusting. We mentioned to one waitress and she said it s probably our hair. She took the potatoe on s small plate and never came back We asked another waitress and her response was, really, at the end of the meal you found a hair. Again accusing us of putting a hair om a potatoe. She then called the Obese Son, who I guess was the manager. We explained to him the issue and he said so what do you want. He said oh well, it does happen. We could not beleive what we were hearing from the Manager of the restaurant. They never apologized or said sorry. He just left the table. We would never go back to this restaurant AGAIN!!!! They act so friendly when you come in but DO NOT get fooled as they are all rude and have no Customer Service ediquette!!!!

I went to peters with my family of four and.we ordered two large souvlaki dinners abd decided to share..we asked the waitress to give us extra plates and she said there is a 5.00 charge for each plate ...she said either pay or order something else..first its not right to charge that for a plate..than my niece finds a hair on her potatoe and the owners obese son comes abd says what do you want me to do..it happens..we could not believe how rude this man was..he did not apologize or do nothing about it abd left..these owners just care about the money abd not the customers.they are fake..even the waitress are Rude also the food was disgusting..the meat was hard...little rice abd one potatoe.and expensive not Wirth the price...dont get fooled ....people beware of these rude people..McDonalds is better than there food..never returning to this restaurant..worst experience ever...

Food as always is fantastic! Usually portion sizes this big, some places sacrifice flavour, but not this place. Owners are awesome, they sit right by the front and see how people are doing. We go there every time for a big meeting.

Peters is a large family run restaurant on Eglinton in Mississauga. There are not many of this type of restaurant around, pretty classic diner food. There are sandwiches like the corned beef on rye and Clubhouse, French onion soup, classic halibut and chips. They even have milkshakes and homemade apple pie with ice cream! The service is fast and friendly, and the portions are large. There is tons of parking.

I have been dining here for years. Peters on Eglinton is an icon of Mississauga and is by far the best Souvlaki meals as well as Deli Sandwiches in all of Mississauga if not the GTA! Their portions are enormous, food is delicious with impeccable service! Tony the owner is a fantastic person who greets all of his customers when they c9me in and knows the majority of them by name! My family have also taken advantage of their private room which easily seats 60+ people. We have Birthdays, Anniversaries, Communion etc and have all been a great experience. Highly recommend this gem of a restaurant.

Had one of the servers walking fast towards our table and ended up spilling a drink on my bud which was unfortunate but things happen, Food was amazing and the lemon pie was to die for. Wished the Coleslaw was served on a different plate so the bread didnt get soaked but it added to the flavour. I would have given 5 stars if the drink spilling thing didnt happen. Oh and my bud was given a free Slice of cake for the inconvenience

Came here with a group of 4 fairly last minute on family day after seeing this place recommended online and I am so glad we did! This place is definetley deserving of its high ratings and the positive reviews speak for themselves. There was plenty of parking and lots of space inside to accommodate our group on short notice. The decor inside is so fun and gives you something to admire while you wait for your meal. The servers were 10/10 - they were all so cheery and welcoming. We ordered a smoked meat sandwich, hot chicken sandwich, souvlaki dinner, and primavera pasta and were all very pleased with our meals. The portions are VERY large so be prepared to be sent home with take out containers. Prices are very reasonable for the GTA. This place is a hidden gem and I will definitely be back!

Food is just ok, but the part I didnt like about the visit was how we were served. Our waitress made us feel like we were her hostages, she didnt want to take our orders until everyone for my group arrived. Then she started blaming us with other tables about the delays and finally she waited until everyone finished their meal to give us the bill meanwhile she was giving it to other tables that arrived after us. Poor customer service. Not worth a second visit.

Excellent place to dine! Excellent food, Souvlaki and corned beef was wonderful and worth the cost. Our waitress was great, she was attentive, friendly and did not rush us either. The only negative is trying to get through on their phone and theyre not friendly when you call to makereservation. I didnt know if the gentleman at the door worked there or was a customer as he did not say a thing to us.

Fantastic service with great food!

First time here and was met with a warm welcome. Interacted with 3 different employees and all were friendly and helpful. I came for the corned beef which was fresh and juicy. They serve large portions and everything was tasty. My only complaint would be that the smooth plain white (non hearty) kaiser I requested crumbled after picking it up so often. Service is fast and there is plenty of parking with a few accessible spots in the first row.

Nothing short of amazing, definitely will be back with friends and family! A gem in Mississauga

Took my girlfriend here for a birthday dinner. The food was absolutely amazing, and the staff was very pleasant, and the service was great.

Crazy big and filling portions. Worth the wait.

Note, I have been going to Peters for almost 20 years and it was the first time back since Covid NEVER AGAIN!! Last weekend we arrived at Peters before our scheduled birthday reservation and were kept waiting almost 40 minutes. When we got in, the owner was so stressed and was borderline rude to my wife. I was shocked. Furthermore, we get into the area near our table and both the owners son and the owner were aggressively demanding that a member from our party throw away his paper cup before he sits down. He assured them that he would drink it right away, yet they were so impatient and became increasingly rude, aggressively, went right close to his face, raised their voices and demanded that he throw it out. He did. We never mentioned to them that he got the water en route to their restaurant for medication purposes. If it wasnt for the evening being a birthday party, I would have left right away. With respect to the meals, we both ordered 2 meat skewers (almost totalling $80) which were overly charred and the meat was way too dry and came with almost no rice. We were not happy with our meal, neither was most of our party who complained for things being undercooked or overcooked or lack of sides. The one positive was our waitress, she was so positive, upbeat and helpful and I wish I knew her name because she was absolutely fabulous. This establishment has gotten used to people lining up on weekends and they now appear to only care about money. The owner and his son should be ashamed of their actions that evening!! A word of advice to them: If you no longer can handle the pressure of owning your own business, get out or hire more staff!!!!!!

Not vegetarian friendly at all . The only vegetarian options are salad and fries.

Ribs were just okay. chicken strips, the same. The wings were fine. Overall, I expected better for the price. The place was overcrowded; my chair was kicked and bumped multiple times, the occasional smell of someones BO was offensive, and it was difficult to tune out the loud conversations from other tables. The table service was good; our server was quite attentive and cheerful. I cant say that I want to return to Peters, but I might revisit if only to try the impressive looking sandwiches.

Had the take out corned beef on rye many times in the past, today I sat down and had grilled liver w fried onions mashed potatoes/veg. It also came with the soup of the day which was cream of broccoli. Everything was excellent, Ill certainly be back again. Food : 5/5

Casual and simple place. Focus on good food. Loved the pickles.

Food and service very good, however, the host, a man, seated us near the window, which was very bright. I asked him to kindly pull the window shade down a bit as I have sensitive eyes. He then said its not sunny or too bright. I thought the customer could ask for a simple favour, but not according to him. We finally sat at a different table, away from the light. Very disappointed in his attitude. Otherwise the food and server were very accomaditing.

We ve been having these smoked meat / roast beef sandwiches for literal decades and have never regretted it. Generous serving sizes, great quality and taste. The fries are just divine and remind you of the best of your childhood. The slaw is alway fresh and amazing. There s much other Greek inspired fare to select from as well - I ll get to it some day, I promise.

Unique atmosphere, great food, massive portions

We went in as a group of 6 with 2 babies and the host was very rude to us. He said it can take up to 30 Minutes wait and when we told him we will wait he said no leave and come back in 45 minutes. Long story short he just wanted us to leave and not wait for a table

This was our first time eating at this restaurant,and we were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. We will definitely be returning.
