I ordered a mutton khuttu roti, 2 mutton rolls and 2 chicken rolls to go. I have been craving Mutton Khottu Roti for months. I called my friend and I asked him what he recommends, he told me to go here. I am not Indian but I do enjoy Mutton rolls and Khottu Roti. Let me tell you, the Mutton Khuttu Roti was the best I have ever had. Absolutely delicious and bursting with flavour. Not dry, not wet, just perfect. Extremely filling and the price is right. The Mutton and chicken rolls were delcious. I wish they had the Mutton rolls in that Roti vs the crispy option. They had the veggie one in the Roti roll. Everything was a 10 out of 10. I cant wait until next weekend so I can eat it again. Do yourself a favour and order a khuttu Roti. You will thank me.

Updated review: Three of us ate from this place and all of us landed up feeling nauseous and uneasy. I am very sure the management changed because the new owners have paid very little attention to the taste. The Kottu paratha which used to be delicious is not palatable at all, we threw out majority of the dish. I had to add yoghurt to cut down the extreme spice. My favourite mutton rolls had rubbery raw tasting goat meat. Very disappointing! Please pay more attention to the taste of the food and bring back all the old recipes and the food quality. No point in upgrading the restaurant if the food quality is this poor and makes one feel so sick.

Packaging is worst, hot meals they packed in polystyrene, very unhealthy to eat it s melted and sticked on the dosa when it goes inside the body can cause health issues.

Food has always been good here and the atmosphere looks stunning after the renovation of the restaurant .

New moon rice is a must-visit for anyone who loves good food and a pleasant atmosphere. I cant wait to return and explore more of their menu! The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the biryani, which was exceptionally delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked, fragrant, and full of flavor, with tender pieces of meat that melted in your mouth. The spice blend was just right, offering a warm and satisfying kick without being overpowering.

We went there in the evening. An hour before the closing. Had some Sri Lankan dishes. Mutton kottu,roasted bread,vegetable roti and two mutton rolls. All were good. Place also cleaned and service was fantastic. Will go next time too. Parking: Front parking

We ordered eve snacks for a bigger event of 300 people and everything was amazing. Masalavada and chai was my favourite. The quality and taste was more than what we expected. I recommend new moon rice to everyone who is craving for some Indian snack and food .

Updated comment in response to the restaurant: FOOD POISONING ALERT After the response from the restaurant, I checked the other google reviews and saw a lot of food poisoning and hygiene related complaints. The management seems to be in denial always. Unfortunately, I didnt check these reviews before getting their food. Added screenshot of payment on June 17. Of course, I didnt report the food poisoning to food safety. So, I dont have a proof of it. But, since 2 people that ate it felt sick on the same night, I dont have any doubt about the source of food poisoning. Good if you passed the inspection. Pls ensure hygiene always. Original: We got 3 combos of rice, veg & non-veg curries a few weeks ago. 2 people that ate it fell sick with food poisoning and the third person had to throw it. Please avoid this place!!

I bought some ulunthu Vadai and dhal Vadai at this restaurant. But the ulunthu vadai doesn t take good ; not like a freshly made So I mentioned this to the owner and asked them dhal vadai instead of ulunthu vadai. The owner got mad and told me throw them in the Restaurant Garage . He never ever say a word of sorry .It shows his native country s attitude. Here after I never visited this place where as other places If any thing wrong in the food item they gladly refund me and apologize for this but this guy s attitude is so bad and not welcoming. I am deeply disappointed this owner s behaviour and lack of professionalism.

I am editing my old review. Used to get awesome food when restaurant was just Moon rice. Under new management, after they changed to new moon rice, initial days didn t find much difference in food. But today i took veg meals for lunch and taste was very below par and not worth the money at all.

I ve been here numerous times the food is usually on and off however recently due to the change in owners it s not the same. The prices are high and the chicken was raw and I got food poisoning and I can t eat I can t do work and I don t recommend anyone to go here.

I have ordered only snacks from here. I liked the taste of sweet bonda and checken roll but rest of the items including vada was not really good. The smell of oil in the most of the items were very bad.

I always wonder why the exhaust fan is just on top of the main entrance ans blows a foul smell all time. that makes to think twuce befor going to this place. the food is normal/overage.

Easily one of the best restaurants in the Golden Horse shoe. Its hot food, its Srilankan and its a 10 out 5 .

The food here are so good. I ordered through UBER eat. The portions were a lot. Very tasty and spicy. The Crab curry with rice is my favorite! And they are very generously adding some extra for my order.

I went in first time was charged $15.00 and only asked for plain rice with goat curry was forced to have veggies sides as she refused to just give goat with plain rice the flavor of the food was not good and definitely will NOT get what you asked as her English wasnt the best...she understood what I ordered but forced her own mix up on me .... not worth the money as they serve cold NOT even room temperature and overall NOT tasty EXTREMELY small serving overall Im sorry NOT worth Anyones money or time ........

Frankly there is not much options for take out food.. Exactly what I was going to say. Not only price increased (keeping inflation in mind) but food is also not good. Went once when they were new. Bad experience. Went back again coz they were new and wanted to give it another chance after many months. Bad decision. Horrible experience. Old management was good, both in customer service and serving genuine ethnic tasting food with reasonable prices.

FOOD POISONING- STAY AWAY Order white pittu from the place, they gave me their last batch, looked a little off but didn t think much about it, im thinking why would they serve bad food, so I go home and have dinner, next morning waking up to a terrible stomach pain and I had to go the Hospital to the EMERGENCY department, where they told I had FOOD POISONING. If you can t serve at least some proper food than why do you own a restaurant and k!ll people like this. Where is the food and health inspector? Restaurant like this should never exist. Really disappointed with tray of kothu roti. We did two large trays of kothu but taste was not near the real kothu and also no gravy to go along with it.

My husband came home & surprised me with chicken kothu Roti & Egg Roti. Medium Spice & it was absolutely delicious Definitely ordering again. Was our first time ordering.

I was pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of food in terms of South indian tastes. Every item which I got a chance to have, reminded me of my childhood days where I grew up in Chennai. The dishes here are fresh and some of them they will prepare post your order. Portions are pretty big and the quantity is pretty generous for the price. Pure value for money. Simply the best Idli I have had in Canada so far. I would recommend this place any given day, eyes closed. It would be nice if they could open this up as a restaurant as well. Also to mention, the service is very good and they serve you with a smile while taking care of your requirements. Keep up the good job team.

First time to this place yesterday Friday. Ordered the mutton biryani, the rice was not completely cooked and there was hardly any pieces of mutton. The rice seasoning was good. With food prices gone up, it would be nice to get what we pay for. Disappointing experience

Small portions for the price

Ordered food for 10 people but there was items missing in the order. Seemed like the charges were way too high. Unprofessional staff, when asked for a detailed bill, it took them 10 minutes because they had to change the prices to match what they charged us. Never had experienced this much disaster.

Its a mouthwatering and affordable take away spot in Mississauga for South Indian food. I tried their Idly Vada and Dosa along with traditional sambhar coconut and spicy chutney. Would love to try your seafood shortly.

We went around 11.00 am and bought a breakfast combo ( 2 each of Jaffna dosa( idli/vada with chutneys and sambar) enough for 2 and 1 set 2 milk hoppers pasted together )of sweet appam and 2 servings ( about 5 chillu)of red puttu with medium fish curry, Tamil Nadu mixture packet. Very tasty and excellent quality and some left over puttu with the sides

I would first like to say there are major issues with communication with this place. I ordered food for a friend asking if it can be made not spicy and they agreed to it and only then I placed the order and paid. They firstly had trouble understanding what we are saying but clarified the food would not be spicy. Once we got to the parking my friend had an issue with the food. To my surprise the food was very Spicy. I went into the store ready to either get a different one made or an option for a refund. I explained to the lady working there and she showed me attitude saying why are you coming on behalf of your friend and it s not correct that my friend is waiting in the car. I told her my friend had a reaction cause she cannot have spicy food and the women chuckled and kept talking back and forth about me being there instead of my friend. I think proper customer service is important especially to be humble and listen to the customers issue as it can cause harm to the consumer. At least have better staff to communicate politely as I didn t appreciate the way this situation was handled. Not getting a refund was the least of my worries at that point. Would have been nice to have a conversation with someone who s able to respect the other.

After the change in management, taste has drastically improved. Now I can get a proper South Indian taste. Pleasant staff . All the best guys

I ordered for delivery from this place. Got Masala dosa and chicken biryani. Masala dosa was way too salty, inedible and chicken biryani didn t have any chicken in it. It was just super spicy rice! The only good thing is good quantity for the price point. The taste is below average! Save your money.

I was in the area so had to try this place out. Ordered Mutton curry Sambal Veechu Roti and Pussinkai (Pumpkin) curry. It was soo delicious but I must say very spicy. The normal person cant handle it.

Best south Indian restaurant in the city. I think a young couple is running this restaurant. Very clean and very tasty food. Real south Indian flavor. The couple were very polite and professional. In Toronto many srilankans restaurants are running as south Indian food. But their quality cannot beat this restaurant tastes. I like the quality of their food. Keep up the good work and quality.

Great tasting food. Highly recommend. But one thing I would recommend to the store is to have your hot table turned on to actually keep the food warm. It s a bit frustrating to have to heat the food you purchased from a store since you receive it cold. Aside from that it s good and tasty food. A bit spicy but delicious.

Quick service. One of the best Telugu (Andhra) restaurants in town. Took kothu roti, thought little bit expensive but got lot of quantity. Tastes good. Purnalu tasted delicious. Mutton roll as well. Overall must try restaurant.
