Brought my 98 year old father in law today for the breaded shrimp. The old guy was pumped to try them as we told him how much we liked them. Unfortunately they were sold out. The manager (i believe) heard my disappointment and was genuinely apologetic for the outage. He even offered to drive to another Deluxe to get some shrimps if we wanted to wait. You don't hear about that kind of customer service much these days! We didn't take him up on his offer, but my father in law enjoyed his scallops very much. Good job folks...We will be back!!
I will not be going to this restaurant again for the following reason 1-presentations was poor. My food was placed in a cardboard plate, where did the take out containers go to 2-fries were uncooked 3-shrimp were too salty
the chicken is really tiny,i order for breast part /big parts with additional charge.and this is what i get. as the manager said its normal ,sometimes its big sometimes is small,how funny,its like 3 chicken nuggets ,its not worth for what i paid. Funny ,and this is not the first time i order .i will not come and order again,not recommended.
For a fast food restaurant it's a good one. The biggest thing for me as a person with a stroller is that I can hardly get in with the doors the way they are now. I can't even imagine how a person with disability would feel being unwelcome here. There are two sets of doors on each side. They are identical. No automatic opening mechanism on either of them. If you open the first door you are got caught inside as there's not enough space to move away and let the second door open. You definitely need help getting in like I needed, but the staff is not interested in helping even seeing your struggle. Being a part of the inclusive community is important for me and I always pay attention to those things. My child will grow up so soon. There will be no stroller next year. But for others with less mobility it's a lifetime situation.
Normally I enjoy deluxe. This time it was terrible. The fish was burnt. I don't like to complain so I tried eating it. I managed to eat half a piece, but then I just couldn't eat the rest. The person I was with insisted on informing the staff. He explained that normally the fish is much better and usually we really enjoy it. The cashier was not very interested in the complaint. So he spoke to the cook. The cook said she could make me a piece of fish for the one that I did not eat. It was much better but unfortunately my fries were cold by this time. I really hate to say negative things about a restaurant because I realize it is extremely hard to staff them, but I feel the management should see what can be done to ensure that the food is consistent when being served. Sorry for the bad review but my review is honest.
Had delicious lobster rolls and scallops with fries. Food was all excellent, high quality and fresh, good servings. Very very good scallops with nice light breading. Nothing fancy, old school interior but a good spot to grab a bite and sit yourself down and enjoy
Stopped in for a bite and thought I would try their fish and chips. Pretty good not bad for the price. 😉 under $11.00 for a 2 piece. Wouldn't be able to eat any more than what they have given me, was plenty. Wasn't very busy for the time that I have arrived. (sevenish) as you can see in the photo below. Dinning area was open, clean, spacious and friendly staff. I'm not much of a fast food kinda man but would go back again and order something different on the menu. 🤔 Would I recommend Deluxe, sure why not. So far so good.
I went to this location 2 times this weekend. The food is excellent. The lobster rolls are soooo delicious. The chicken batter is perfect as well. But both times, the employees were just fighting. If your going to run a business, ensure employees know not to fight in front of customers. This puts a bad taste in their mouth of your location, before they even order. I will certainly be revisiting, hopefully next time it will be better.

July 27 I find in the past year the quality has gone done a lot the fries and fish were burnt and the grease went through the cardboard plate and the bag it was take out had for supper here it is 10.29 and I m still going to the bathroom for the fifth time with Diearea
Deluxe is the best around they have been doing stuff right for 75 years!

We like Deluxe. So what else is there to say. We are bias. Parking: Tell others about parking Huh? Okay,for those who are not up on this yet -- It is where you park your automobile! [Hint - what exactly do you want to know- we went, we parked we ordered, we ate, we left and the car was still there. Alls good.

The fries are fantastic as ever. I had a clubhouse, which is great there as the meat doesnt taste processed. Coleslaw is tangy and creamy. Will be back to have a poutine!
A little pricy for greasy food. There are several better places of this kind that are all around better. This stop was only from convenience and not my regular place to eat.

It is reasonably priced for good food. Not great/exciting but definitely better than making it and cleaning the dishes yourself! Fish fell apart a bit too much but tasted fine. Gravy is strangely light in color, but thick in texture. Fries are okay. Better than McCains for sure.

The food was fine, average greasy spoon place with pretty good fries. Mind you, as a bigger guy the seats and booths are VERY small and the prices are all over the place menu wise.

When you do have fish and chips of course you need tartar sauce. Im guessing it was a foreign worker, just New Brunswick is foreign worker friendly but I dont know so long as they get the job done right ! Stingy on the tartar sauce. Grrrr
Chicken was dry all three orders l was disappointed
It was average food for a high price. My meal was good and my husband enjoyed his but feel for the price I could make better at home. Will skip this place in our options next time.

Bought seafood platter, scallops were undercooked making them inedible and the clams were also undercooked.
Deluxe isnt my first go-to place. That doesnt make it bad. Burgers are decent. Fries are awesome. Old people love it.

Id the food servings get any smaller and the prices get any higher, they will start charging us just to smell it. Deluxe used to always be packed... Now, it is rarely super busy and people would look twice if the parking lot is full. The menu really hasnt changed so this is a perfect example of lowering the quality of food and raising the prices for exactly what was offered 20 years ago will be responsible for putting them out.of business.

Edit: October 2023. So I went back and low and behold the food was FANTASTIC!! I could not have been happier. Proper temp, crunchy, properly salted, nearly perfect. But theres a but. Actually, it was a butt... with a skinny little tail that was playing in the empty dining room with a friend. Video is now posted. So sad to see the quality going down hill. I keep going back every 3mths or so to see if theyve gone back to hot crispy fish and chips but no such luck. Still have the best fries in town just need that extra 45secs of cook time.
Nothing to write home about. Staff is nice. Food is ok. But otherwise its not the best. But very cheap for the amount of food.

We couldnt believe how small the hamburger patties have become.. 2 together is about the size of 1 of MacDonalds hamburger patties .. yeah , its that bad

Love this location of Deluxe. We eat here every time we are in Moncton. They never disappoint. Crispy homemade fries are the best we have ever had. Coleslaw is the best we have ever eaten. My husband lives the fish. Vegetarian options: I am a vegetarian, and I find that the fries and coleslaw are all I need to make me happy.
The staff were super friendly and quick. I had English style fish and chips The fries were amazing, but a bit too much batter on the fish. My partner had the light batter but it seemed like a fish stick not a big fan. Flavor was ok. Food

Food is really good, great price for quantity. I didnt appreciate the worker mopping the floor while I was dining. Basically enhaled strong cleaning chemicals while eating. Great combination! Nothing like eating yummy deluxe fries while enhaling the scent of javax!

The only fries that top mcdonalds. Great fish and chips. My selling point is that they serve lunch at 7am. Being a nightshifter I dont want breakfast food when I get off work.

Food was decent but the manager has a case of mistaken identity. when my ex wife ask for him to fix a mistake he made by adding a condiment that she is allergic to.
I ordered the Englisch style fish and chips. For that reason I expected to get some salt and vinegar fries with some nicely fried fish. Unfortunately I got tasteless fries that where fried to long in to old oil. The fish itself tasted ok, but since it where kinda small pieces they where all overcooked. Moreover the batter was pretty dark and had a kinda old oil aftertaste as well. Maximum 2/5 for the food. Im giving 3/5 because the restroom was clean and I kinda liked the old fashioned dinning area, which could need some polish but has its charme too. But its still not a very pleasant experience overall. If youre around you might wanna give it a try but from my perspective I would not recommend a detour for visiting this restaurant.

Visited Mountain Rd Moncton location on May 21st 7:15pm, best service I have had in a very long time. The young gentleman (I think they called him Alex), was cleaning seating area (very hard at work focused on details), overheard me say to my dine in friends that i was going to go grab a knife, he quickly got it for us AND cleaned our tables when we were done. I hope this location knows how lucky they are to have him! I been in leadership for over 20+ years and I would hire him in a heart beat!

I love how deluxe sticks to some old school things, old school cash registers, old school receipts, old school paper plates... Etc, the food still tastes like it did decades ago, which is fantastic of course. The portion size is respectable as well. I dont go too often, but when I do, its always awesome.

The quantity and quality of food were lacking considering the price when compared to other places. I ordered a seafood platter that had one piece of fish that was deliciously prepared, six scallops that were perfectly cooked and delicious, maybe six or seven clams which is significantly small amount of clams for a seafood platter and a handful of French fries. I asked for no ketchup in the bag but extra tartar sauce. My receipt showed exactly that however I received no tartar sauce and extra ketchup

Delicious food, but poor portions depending on what you order. The hamburger patties are so thin youll have a hard time believing you got a double or triple patty burger instead of a single. Youll think they forgot to add patties. 4 stars because i think the food is good, but could use improvement in portion sizes.

I find they dont listen to how you want your fish cooked. If you ask for English Style lightly cooked. They give you the light batter fish. Is very frustrating. The fries are usually over cooked. Not impressed.
Heres the issue. Great chain. Great Manager and staff. Bad owners. The original owner passed and the sons dont care. They want to dump the franchise. Its a shame because the location has been there forever, foods great.. sell the location to your Manager, hes clearly the only one interested in the continued success
