I am in town for business and I was looking for a place to get some comfort food. The Tide and Boar was within walking distance from my hotel and it looked to fit what I wanted. I came early for dinner and was greeted warmly and seated right away. I saw the v seafood chowder on the menu and asked about it. I was told it was a meal itself and was really hearty. The server was NOT kidding. A huge bowl of chowder was brought to my table with a thick slice of bread with butter. It was absolutely filled with lobster, mussels, shrimp and more! It was so good and really hit the spot. I was really full when I left and completely satisfied!
I have dined here many times over the past decade when in Moncton for business. On my recent stop I had the pan fried haddock and chips. Crispy light and on point as usual. For dessert so had the banana pudding which was decadent and not too heavy, however creamy and banana with the duché de lèche. Service attentive and not too obtrusive. Overall a pleasant experience.
The chef here is amazing, some of the best food I've had in a long time. I will definitely stop in anytime I'm in Moncton. The flavors were well paired and everything was cooked perfectly.
The food was decent and the server nice. When asking for mayo to go with the fries we were told it's an up charge. When asking for a small amount of tartar sauce to go with the left over fish we were told it was $1.50. The server informed us that any requests outside of ketchup and vinegar is a charge as the kitchen won't allow it. Perhaps there is a better reason other than being cheap but for 50 bucks per person for 1 drink and 1 plate I expected more. I was recommended this place and the frugal approach to such low cost items has left me disappointed.
I did not have a reservation but they were able to accomodate me in the lounge downstairs. That was ok because it was cooler on a hot night They had cocktails as well as beer and it was well made I ordered the two piece fish and chips (substituted poutine for just chips) Very filling. Two large pieces of very good fish with crispy batter The tartar sauce was home made and so was the cold slaw. Excellent
Great food and drinks! The service was very kind and fast as well. Nice atmosphere also. We ordered one of the charcuterie boards as well as the pork bites to share and it the perfect portions.
Tide & Boar on Main Street is a fantastic dining spot that truly exceeded expectations. The service was outstanding, with friendly and attentive staff who made the experience enjoyable. The restaurant features a large patio, perfect for outdoor dining and soaking up the atmosphere. With several food options on the menu, there’s something for everyone, from hearty meals to lighter bites, all reasonably priced. Its prime location on Main Street makes it convenient and close to everything, ideal for travelers exploring the area. The food was delicious and well-prepared, making it a delightful place to eat while on the go. Whether you're looking for a casual meal or a more substantial dining experience, Tide & Boar delivers. It was a memorable stop on my journey, and I would definitely go back. Highly recommended for anyone in the area looking for quality food and excellent service.
Went for my daughters birthday. Ordered the Korean fried chicken, and the banana pudding for dessert will include pictures. The food was tasty the restaurant was very warm others around us were saying the say thing. Waitress was very kind and helpful! 100% would eat here again lots of menu options. I will start adding the menu pictures to my reviews going forward! Also, they do have a vegan smash burger, and we're very good about our request for no nuts due to an allergy!
One of my favourite places to visit in Moncton.
Its ok. Beer is ok. Venue is ok. Vibe is ok. Food is ok. If you like Jack Astors, etc youll like T&B.
I was looking forward to a wonderful evening but was very disappointed. It was obvious they had overbooked as the place was so crowded customers and servers had difficulty walking between tables as chairs were back to back. Oh fire Marshall??? We were seated shortly after 5:45, by 6:30 we asked for coffee and by the time we left at 8:30, there was still no coffee put out on the side table. Difficult to ask servers again as they were performing. We were served the main course after 8 pm, the chicken was so overcooked, I thought I had bitten into a bone. There were a number of customers at our table with this same issue. I will never again be a customer at McSweenys Company Dinner Theater in Moncton.
In town for the night and stopped by for a pint and a snack. The food is perfect but even better was the service. Our bartender was the best part of the evening, very knowledgeable and really set the vibe. He s tending that bar like a champ. Well done. Coming back today for pizza
The beer selection is alright. Their microbrewery tends to lean more towards IPAs.
Cant say enough great things about this place! Food was incredible. Charcuterie platter was spectacular and probably the best burger Ive had this year. Basque cheesecake and banana pudding were incredible desserts! Staff went out of their way to help my wife who walks with a cane, using a staff elevator to help get us to the lower level for a concert. Service above and beyond!! This is my new go-to when Im in Moncton
Best lobster roll I ve had! Friendly staff and a super cute location
The fish and chips were great! And they had malt vinegar
Good pub food...Hand cut fries..YES...Great service..Furniture was a little tired thats the only reason Im giving this a 4 instead of 5.
Fours untill I can eat here. Cool atmosphere. Food looked amazing. Had reservations at the Keg and got robbed. Next time its Tide and Boar.
Went for concert
We had brunch/lunch with a group here today and were really disappointed with the food quality. I ordered the Pub Breakfast. The poached eggs were hard as a rock, the herbed biscuit was dried out with barely any butter on it and it was supposed to come with avocado but that never appeared on three of our plates. The one person who did get avocado on their plate said it was way too hard to even consider eating. At $18 for this meal it fell extremely short. Not likely to be back again if this is the type of quality we can expect. Very disappointing.
Friendly staff, great food and fantastic beer selection. A must visit for me anytime I am in Moncton.
Food great!!! If youblike IPA you are in luck.
Great atmosphere. I really enjoy having a drink on the patio. Food is decent.
Come to enjoy a poutine: it s done! Hearty and good dishes, in a pleasant atmosphere
Fantastic dining experience. Great service.
Great beer, standard pub fare food.
Excellent spot for a good time!!!
Stopped by for a relaxing evening after a day of touring and Tide and Boar did not disappoint. Shared a Boar Board featuring hot and cold in-house cured meats. It was excellent
Food was good, quantity could have been better. Overall good experience. Loved their T&B salad.
Very tasty food, good service
My only regret is that I cannot give more stars based on the service. Our waiter was fantastic and had excellent recommendations. Located on Main Street this place is perfect for lunch or supper in the heart of Moncton.
Fantastic food. The flank steak was perfectly done. The chowder was well made but the chimichurri was to die for. Tons of garlic!
The only reason this is four stars is because the smoked salmon was really good and I wanted a larger piece. There is a paid parking lot behind the building at 3.25$ per hour. Recommended: Tide & Boar salad with smoked salmon, boar poutine
Awesome spot! The ambience was really nice for a few drinks in the evening, but I wasnt expecting the food to be so good. Had the parmesan- crusted haddock and my hats off to the chef - it was absolutely delicious. Great beer selection, highly recommend the Robot Food IPA and the Drown in the Juice IPA.
This quaint little gastropub in the heart of Moncton served an incredible plate of seared scallops, which was paired with Uncut Hops, a hazy New England IPA that was very citrus forward without any hint of bitterness. The Boat Poutine was also great, although it did get a little greasy near the bottom. This was paired with a delicious pilsner, simply called The Pilsner.
Super good, very generous portion. Very fast service and very courteous staff
Omg! Must visit this place. The New York in Moncton. Huge serving. Generous meat and cheese.. affordable meal
Very good food and impeccable service. The waitress even made the effort to speak to us in French when she realized we were French speakers.
There are a lot of disgusting birds on the patio, but I understand this would be hard to control.
Drinks only. Very good beers am me worth a visit
Good food, good beer, nice pub. Fish n chip big portion and delicious. Lobster roll with really lots of lobster. Impeccable service. The terrace is well located between two buildings, therefore sheltered from the wind and not too much sun.
We stopped into Moncton just to have lunch and chose the Tide and Boar. Phenomenal service, friendly staff, and the food was top notch as well. The panko crusted Haddock was fantastic! Great selection of craft beers.
Our server was the absolute best. And food was off the charts good.
Id rate the food.. if we even got to that point, waitress said sit wherever and then never came back. Sat there for about 15 minutes then we just got up and slowly walked out
Must try if you are around this location.
Have been to Tide & Boar downtown countless times, love the atmosphere, food is good and their beers are excellent especially IPAs. However we came earlier today and were turned away because they wanted to check IDs?! 2 ladies (staff) at the door were asking for IDs. I was so surprised and said is it new? Cause I have been here way too many times. They said no they always check IDs and it depends on who is at the door. If it s their new rule I totally understand since they have alcohol but I do come here very often and never ever heard of ID check before. Kinda ruin a Sunday lunch for us since a friend was visiting from another country and we would have to go back home to get her passport for ID. Felt very unwelcome.
Food was delicious and the service was amazing!
Try it you will enjoy it
Ate outside on a beautiful September day. The beers were excellent! Our server made several suggestions that were spot on. Highly recommend.
We recently stopped here for dinner while on our maritime vacation, and let me tell you, it was amazing!! We received excellent service, amazing food, and astonishingly amazing craft beer. One of the people in our party had some dietsry restrictions (gluten and dairy). The server without hesitation brought over a menu outlining all of the meals she was able to eat, and was very accomodating to her needs. 10/10 will be making this a stop for future visits to the maritimes!!
Not to be missed, excellent fish and chips. Service friendly and attentive. Sat on patio, great space. Blueberry sundae was very good. Suggest the early retirement ale with the fish and chips.
Great spot with great food. Kid friendly but not the easiest with little ones. No changing stations avail. Kid-friendliness: They accommodate the kids, no changing station.
Wild boar poutine was delicious!
Awesome patio, great service and fabulous food. The selection of beers were top notch!
Best pizza!
I love their pizza
Had a seat at the bar on a Wednesday evening. The staff was really friendly and efficient! Food didn t take long to come out and it was great! Had the lobster roll with soup of the day and while the lobster roll was packed with lobster and freshness, the soup was surprisingly very good! Would definitely come back and try other items on the menu
Very nice pub : we had the Poutine with boar light it is not but so good!! Home beers are exceptional !! A must go to place!!
Saw a mouse running around the dining room. Overly expensive
Great restaurant! We enjoyed a fabulous dinner on the patio, and previous Google reviews didn t disappoint, the wings, salad and poutine were amazing! Great service delicious food, and beautiful atmosphere.
EXCELLENT!
Lovely place ! The food is very good and the service very friendly !
Service in both languages. Magnificent terrace. Delicious beers, but the variety needs to be developed. The place is very charming, but parking will definitely be charged in the area. On the other hand, it is in the heart of downtown and it has a unique experience
Excellent food and Service! Our waiter was awesome
Great evening on the patio. Delicious boar poutine and oysters! Be sure to try the grapefruit IPA
Dined on the special of the day & the fried chicken sandwich. All was fresh & tasty. Service was friendly and attentive. Id come back without hesitation. *Update. Ive returned several times and tried different items. Always enjoyable.
After testing it in 2018, I returned to Tide and Boar, Im still delighted with it
Beautiful presentation and very succulent
We stopped into Tide and Boar after a costco trip. This was probably the best experience we have had here. It was a beautiful day, and there was plenty of outdoor seating, so we made our way to the host. She was super friendly and told us we could have a seat anywhere that had utensils and menus. We found our way to the table. Bottles of water already there were a great touch! Our server came to our table quickly to see if we wanted any drinks and that we could look up the beers on tap from our phones. Im not really a fan of that, as not everyone brings their phones. (Im not sure if there are other options). We werent having any adult beverages, so that was fine. We knew pretty much before we got there what we wanted. My partner ordered the Boar Poutine, and I had Unami pork bites. The Boar poutine is large enough for 2 or 3 people. It has lots of meat and cheese on top. The gravy comes on the side, and they have their own homemade ketchup, which is delicious (a little kick to it). My Unami pork bites were good. But I did notice they made them a bit different. Usually, the Sriracha is drizzled on top, but this time, it was costed on the meat. I didnt really like that as much. But they were still good. There is just a little change in flavor. Our food came so quickly it was amazing. Our server was super friendly and asked our plans for the day. We loved the outdoor vibe , with the lights, smelling the smoker, lounge seats and tables. Also we seen on the chalk board there are more meats available after 4 or 5 certain days of the week off the smoker. Hopefully we can catch that next time! Cannot wait for our next visit! Parking: We had to walk a few minutes for a paid parking lot.
Super nice place. We ate outside on the terrace. Nice atmosphere and the food is super good. Good service too!
Cool soggy fries and a burger that was overcooked and sitting under a warmer for far too long. And way overpriced for the value.I will not be back.
Straight gas.
Came in for dinner. It was located in downtown Moncton on Main street. The restaurant was completely packed and we were lucky to get a table as we didn t have reservations. My friends ordered the chicken sandwich, burrata + tomatoes, smoked wings and I ordered the Boar Poutine. I never had Boar so I was unsure about it. All the dishes looked so delicious and the servings were huge ! I didn t like the Boar Poutine. I don t think it was anything the restaurant did, I just didn t like the taste/texture. I wish I had ordered something else because everything looked amazing. This was on me. I don t think it s fair to give a negative review simply because I didn t like a food I ve never tasted before. I hope to come back again and try something else. The staff were WONDERFUL !
Great food, fun atmosphere and just a really nice space, loved it and will return every time I m in Moncton!
Kid-friendliness: Offered a kids menu and was very accommodating when requesting a Shirley Temple Food
Went with a group of friends, service was great and orders will filled correctly with little waiting time. Atmosphere was rustic, perfect ambience.
Wonderful service. The burger was delicious.
Excellent everything is fantastic
Had the Burger was amazing.
Not a fan of the wings and fish and chips. The server was very tentative. Food
Excellent gastropub in a old building that still has rope operated elevator. They have a nice garden outside, and its nice and cozy in a good day. The Oyster and the Scotch egg are both delicious. The drinks are great and very affordable.
Vegetarian options: Their Vegan burger was the absolute perfect burger. Tast, texture, amount of food. Messy, yet tasty. Hands down the best Vegan burger Ive ever had! Recommended dishes
Great service in French and dogs are welcome on the terrace! We loved our meal and the price was reasonable for the quality of the food! Thanks to the whole team!
Nice spot, good food!
We rested for a cocktail. Beautiful place, great terrace, wonderful service.
Great food. Loved the BBQ pit.
It was amazing. The food was amazing, it was delivered quickly, and the staff were so helpful. They were very friendly and went out of their way to help us.
Magnificent terrace. Quick and delicious meal. The homemade chips were a really nice starter to share with the kids.
Wow Guédille, chicken hamburger and beef hamburger excellent! A little stout to accompany it all
Popped in for a pint and both beers we had were delicious. Id love to stop in again whenever we head back out east and get some food. Ive heard amazing things about the pizza.
This place is just lovely. Seasonal selections, long-standing menu, craft beers made in-house for a variety of preferences. I wasnt in NB for long, but I highly recommend giving it a try. Lobster roll was delicious, halibut was great, service was attentive and helpful. Our server was a young man who just had great instincts for what guests might like. Patio was nice but would use caution on hot days with no wind, as there are two large brick buildings on either side. Vegetarian options: Plenty of options for a variety of dietary restrictions. Dietary restrictions: Plenty of options for a variety of dietary restrictions. Parking: There is a lot on the street behind that was huge. If memory serves, parking <$10 for our dinner. Kid-friendliness: Could easily accommodate kids. Wheelchair accessibility: Easily navigable patio.
Solid bar restaurant. Located in downtown Moncton on the main strip with street parking nearby this popular spot is a good choice for a night out or a bite with friends. They have the occasional live acts and paid events with a cover charge so check before you go. The place is small but has a sublevel with more tables and a second bar. The food is good and service is pretty quick and helpful. Wheelchair accessibility: Only the main floor is accessible and there is limited seating. You will not have access to a bathroom since they are located in the basement.
Visited from Saint John on a warm Saturday night around 7pm. It was busy and we had to wait for a table but only for a minute. We were seated quickly and our server (Hayden) was fantastic. Quick with the drinks and the food and always checked in to see how we were doing. He was great and the place was pumping. We sat outside and the atmosphere was awesome. Highly recommend and we will be back.
Came for happy hour last week and had oysters and beer on the patio. Great service, even better food.
Went to a show, great space!
Love coming here for lunch in the summer the staff is always the best and the food never disappoints.
smoked wings!
This was our 1st time in Moncton and we wanted one last seafood dish before heading home. We had oysters and the chowder. The chowder was excellent. Just the right consistency. We also had the green salad and smoked wings. Both were excellent. The portions are excellent. Service was very attentive. It was very popular and busy for a Wednesday. We would go again if we lived here.
Love their food and drinks! Creamsicle ( not sure if I spelled it right ). However, I find the food choices are limited and I am foodie so, thats that. However, their drink variety is superb! I spent quite a bit because I ordered, chowder, haddock parm something and 2 drinks..
Best Americano coffee ever. Succulent seasoned haddock, love the bean sprouts in the slaw. Great value, great atmosphere. I have never before left a review before finishing my meal.
Update June 2024: Arrived on a rainy Saturday afternoon and it was packed. The young woman that greeted me was very pleasant, unfortunately the only table available was downstairs. So, the atmosphere wasnt as vibrant, but excellent wait staff and food made up for it. I had the parmesan encrusted haddock and fries, it was amazing! Also, if you like hazy IPAs you must try the Drown in the Juice IPA. A very bright citricy flavour, but not overpowering. A great summer choice. Sept 2023: One of my favorite local brew pubs. Love the local beer, always seems to be something new to try. Last time I lucked out and they had the BBQ going, and had one of the best briskets I have ever experienced. Awesome spot!
Great spot: good food, good service, good beer, great patio!
Fantastic staff and menu
I was here for a business dinner and really enjoyed the atmosphere, a member of my party was very impressed with the song playlist. We found that the tide and boar board needs more bread and crackers. We asked for more, but only received 3 small peices of fried bread. We could have easily used 3 times that with the remaining cheeses, etc. on the board. The fried chicken sandwich was really good but I had to ask for a side of mayo as it was dry. The other person in my party agreed and wished there was more mayo on his too.
I have food allergies and the staff took the time to check ingredient labels were very honest with me about what they were certain I could have and what they werent sure of. It gave me a lot of peace of mind and no one seemed annoyed about checking for me.
Great service, atmosphere, and tasty food. However, I cant get past being charged 2 dollars to have a 2oz side of maple syrup with my chicken and waffles. I still go back, just found that a bit much Food
I ve always love eating here, love the oysters and the food! I ve been coming here for 5 years and the people are always nice, food always good! Atmosphere is nice and cozy as well! Vegetarian options: There aren t many vegetarian options but you can still find some!
Atmosphere feels a bit chaotic but that seems to be their thing. Its a much more relaxed atmosphere out in the courtyard but too cold the night we were there.
Excellent service, charming atmosphere inside the storied building and on its patio. Live musical performances.
Good beer and good boar poutine. Nice to for a french to have canadian vibes.
Had an amazing burger special. Service was good and nice atmosphere.
Ordered the pork bites for the appitizer and loved them. Then had two orders of the boar poutine. Which was all so good and the portion size was good as well. My only thing was the boar meat on the poutine had no flavour to it. But was still good. Recommend to go for sure
Food was pretty good. Ordered the Fish & Chips for dinner (see pic). Tasted fine but a bit more seasoning in the batter would have been appreciated. Finished things off with a sticky toffee pudding (see other pic). Great atmosphere and the service was excellent.
I was really hungry tonight, so I took the $7 upgrade to have a poutine side with my burger. OMG! It was laughable. My girlfriend got regular fries with her burger. My upgraded poutine was a mini, infant-sized sample that could have rested comfortably in the palm of my hand - for SEVEN EXTRA dollars! It was even placed in a stacked dish that initially made it seem like it was in a deeper bowl. I easily had about one fourth the amount of fries to satiate my big appetite. Unless you enjoy paying more to get considerably less, stay away from T&Bs premium-priced meal downgrade. Beers were tasty! Our server was great and saw humour in the above situation. Grossly overpriced add-ons aside, we had a great time.
Excellent service, food, and drinks. I really recommend the restaurant Picture: Mosaic IPA Ask for Mr. Kiefer Food : 5/5 |
Food was awesome, good gluten free options
Fantastic food and service . The portions were huge. A little loud but we ll worth it.
I have not been up the east coast through Moncton for a few years before COVID so I was elated to see this local gastropub had survived the decimating affect of that crazy time. In addition, I has so pleased to hear that they have excelled in these years and moved the basement brewery outta the lower floor and into a bigger facility further into town. (NEXT TIME!!!!!) A walk on a cold and drizzly March evening was rewarded by the energy of the crowded rooms and the flavours wafting out of the kitchen. Some of THE TIDE pilsner accompanied my BOAR BOARD of delectable house-cured meats and pates. Textures and flavours unique to me and certainly enjoyable. I am only sad that my capacity for food is not what it was but i will return next time FAMISHED and gorge myself. Thanks to all for a wonderful evening.
The beer selection was tasty and varied. We shared 4 different ones and enjoyed each. The server was excellent despite the restaurant being unusually full for a Sunday night. The food was good. We tried a few things and found the pub-style options to be excellent and the more restaurant-style choices a little less so,but still good. Definitely would recommend a stop here!
Great food, huge choice of great beer
Great food !
Ordered one small vegan donair and the option of an extra-small poutine for a side (roughly 2 cups). It tasted ok, however I could have made it more flavourful at home. The upcharge for the poutine was 7$ and the amount of the upcharge was not advertised on the menu. 31$ total (incl. tax) for a small meal: It was more expensive than what it was worth, even at todays prices at comparable restaurants.
I havent been this pleasantly surprised and impressed with a restaurant in a long time! When we arrived it was fairly busy, but we were seated in a timely fashion. The waitress was so sweet and friendly! I was shocked when I saw a seperate menu due to vegan week! There was an app option, 3 dinner options, and a dessert option.....ALL VEGAN! Being vegan, is it especially hard when you go to restaurants!!! There is very rarely much choice. Especially with such imagination...... i got the cauliflower Buffalo wings (delicious), Donair Detroit style pizza (incredible) and the vegan lava cake. All phenomenal. Even my husband, who does not enjoy vegan pizza at all, thought it was incredible! We are from PEI, so its not exactly down the street, but I would drive this far for THAT meal anyday!! And I dont mind paying for good food!! I cannot wait to have a cold slice for breakfast! You hit this experience out of the park for us. Thank you Tide and Boar!! Well definitely be back! I recommend highly!
Delicious food and great staff
Awesome food and service. Beer is amazing too. Yum yum
Stopped in Moncton and this was our first meal here. A very bustling establishment, kind service and some uniqueness on their dishes. Wife and I were quite hungry, we ordered fish and chips, chowder and a meat & cheese board. Their charcuterie board had some really fascinating pieces, each meat was delicious and cheeses fairly unique and local. They had some pickled garnishes that were very tasty when eaten together, this was certainly the high point of items on their menu. I hate to point this out and maybe its a culture thing, but unfortunately the chowder and the fish and chips were under seasoned. The fish and chips had a good texture and were perfectly flaky, but were completely bland to the point that it was almost unbearable to eat. I had to use every crevice of the tartar sauce to just get it down. The chowder was similarly under seasoned and watery, it really didnt feel like a chowder. It was probably the worst one weve had on our trip. The dishes were pretty, the space was nice, and people were enjoying themselves. It was just really unfortunate that the food was lacking.
Pizza was amazing
Wowwwwww..coooool
Great place to see live music
We had lunch at this restaurant. The price of going out has become untenable for a lot of people and nothing is worse than spending money on garbage food and service. You do not have to worry here. The food is very good and service top notch. Enjoy a beer if you can. They cater to all.
Ive been to the Tide&Boar Vaughn Harvey a few times with a.friend, and I have to say the service and staff are fantastic. When we usually go there we usually have Dan who serves us he is absolutely awesome. Very friendly Tide & Boar Brewery are lucky to have him as an employee We usually get the Snack Smached Burger and we never leave hungry..
Very noisy, would be fun for large group
Amazing food and service. A lot of flavour and character here.
Great place to eat and relax the staff where amazing.
We went for lunch and both gor the burger fest burger the never broke my heart burger 10/10!! Service was also great! Highly recommend!
Vegetarian options: Like the place and atmosphere Food
Went for the burger fest, it was good but the burger arrived 5 minutes after we sat down which is weird. It was cold and there was almost no sauce, probably because it was premade. Our drinks came when we were almost done eating. No one came to see us the entire time and the waitress left when she dropped the bill.
The only slightly negative thing I can honestly say is that 1 of our chairs and our small table were wobbly. Our server thankfully wedged something under the bottom of the table to help the drinks stay upright. The food was awesome. Service was fantastic. We didnt wait long for our food, and it came out hot! Will be visiting again soon. Hopefully, we will get a different table.
Best wings in Moncton and they always have an incredible lineup of craft beer. Love their polenta fries and house salad. Everything I have had so far on their menu has been fantastic!
Great experience. I was waiting to try the boar poutine. Did read a review saying it was on the blander side and would have to agree. Could have had more gravy, in my opinion. The service was great tho, wonderful pairing and knowledgeable of product available. Would come again to try other options.
If you are ever in Moncton and love to drink craft beer well then this is the place to go! Amazing food amazing beer all at really decent prices! I have now been twice and I ll be back again I m sure! Have the boar poutine! Trust me!
Its OK, typical pub atmosphere, burger wasnt great. My co workers tried some other items and liked those. Apparently the chowder was good and so was the chicken. Food
First time here this morning for brunch .amazing food and great service. I highly recommend their appetizers..the polenta fries and the pesto crema (salsa Verde) they come with are truly amazing. Worth going back for asap
Often there is at least one item on the plate thats just ok, but was definitely not our experience here. Everything we ate was fantastic.
85$ for 2 overpriced. buns on chicken sandwich is terrible. fries are 0 out of 10. mostly burnt scraps. soups are usually great. water is awful ..old pipes taste.
Great spot in the middle of downtown Moncton.
Normally we really enjoy T&B thoroughly. Unfortunately we went to the T&B for NYE and it just seems that the kitchen was overwhelmed trying to feed too many people too quickly so as to facilitate the NYE celebrations. Most of the food arrived very cold and if you ordered a steak...basically uncooked. That is really more on us than T&B. But the price was exhorbitant as well. 75 bucks a head for entrees that were effectively inedible. We gotta be smarter about picking table dhotes for that many people on a crunched timeline. Live and learn. On the upside the staff worked their butts off given the situation.
An all-around great restaurant
All the appetizers was beyond tasty. Beer was really good. But i feel that the main course was too big for most of our group. I ll come back for the tide and boar board with a excellent beer
Absolutely phenomenal! Food was next level and the service outstanding!! Food came out quickly. The umami bites are a must try OMG!!!
Today my husband and I went to The Tide & Boar Gastropub in Moncton for the first time. We enjoyed the burger quite a bit. We both agreed it was the best Flip Fest Burger weve had and we try a lot of them every year. When we first arrived we were greeted by Mel who was amazing. She was very friendly as well as very professional. Even though she was a server, not a waitress she went way beyond in both positions. Besides being friendly as well as professional, she even brought our drinks as well as burgers to us. She also checked on us a few times to see if we needed anything. She told us she wasnt a waitress which surprised my husband and I as she was so amazing. She was one of the best servers both of us have ever had. She was smiling the whole time as well as very pleasant to talk to. We would go back for the burgers but also because she made us feel so welcome especially since it was our first time visiting. Thanks so much Mel, it was great meeting you!
I am almost reluctant to praise the Vegan Smash Burger for fear that it results in an increase in popularity that makes it difficult for me to get my hands on one. Lets start with the fries. Theyre crispy, theyre salty, theyre golden brown, theyre perfection. Then you have the burger. Id post a picture of it, but it never lasts long enough for me to get my phone out. The bun is soft yet chewy, perfect for containing the deliciousness. Then theres the cheese. I dont know what the cheese is, but if it were to require a 12 mile hike up the side of a rocky cliff in order to get the recipe, Ill be over here lacing up my hiking boots. It pairs perfectly with the mayo, which has little pieces of dill goodness mixed in. Then we get to the real star of the show. That patty. Oh boy, that patty. Its succulent, its smoky, its that day in the third grade when you go to the scholastic book fair and buy that one book that you read obsessively for the next 6 months. I am being genuine when I say that this burger was what I wanted for my birthday this year. My wife and I have had this burger half a dozen times in the past year and a half, and each bite, I hear Leonard Cohens Hallelujah. Pair this burger with a delicious, crisp, slightly spicy ginger beer. The staff are always friendly, engaging, and seem excited to be there. Its a great environment, and people always seem to be having a good time. You cannot go wrong here.
Excellent place with several environments, a basement, external and internal space. Varied food and drinks menu
Absolutely awesome food and service .

Great pub food with some less than usual offerings to interest you. Wild Boar poutine was outstanding.
Always amazing food and some awesome brew.
Love this place, it is excellent in every way
Nice place to catch up with locally brewed beers and stout!
We ran into issues with our service. Nothing was on our reserved table. We continually had to ask for utensils and napkins. When they came with them they only gave us 3 napkins and 5 sets of utensils. A table of 8? A neighboring table offered some of their extras. We had food in front of us with no way to eat them for several minutes. When you ask for these types of things the waitress should ensure they bring enough the first time not to have to repeatedly have to chase down the basics of dining. I understand they may have been busy but they were giving themselves more work by not doing it right the first time. To pass these things to us and leave before we could respond, we were jaw dropped. We were not rude diners nor were we the demanding type, we kept things pretty cool, but we all felt we wont be back. They lost alot of business by not following up with our drinks or desserts. The staff were friendly but maybe over worked? Under trained?
Went for brunch and a few drinks! Pretty cool spot, Ill be back when visiting moncton
The food is unbelievably delicious! Ive had the polenta fries and chicken burger. Unreal flavour combos, super fresh. Ive also had the brunch eggs Benedict. I recommend a little bit more hollandaise so that its not so dry but the flavour combo with the ham is so good!
Good food
I have been to the Tide and Boar several times over the years. The reputation precedes this place. It s a great vibe. Centrally located. The drinks are good. The food is good. I almost think the food used to be better but it s still very good. I always make a trip when I go to Moncton.
Fantastic service and food. The croquettes were amazing, the Parm crusted fish and chips were great as was the Wednesday striploin special. The beers were all very good, but I got a flight of 4 IPAs and they were all quite similar. Should have branched out to try their stout etc. highly recommend, friends I went there with said its been equally good when theyve gone in the past too.
The Scotch Egg. The best thing Ive eaten in Moncton so far. Get the Scotch Egg. The beer, the ambiance, and the service were all excellent. But really, you must get the Scotch Egg.
Great food, fantastic atmosphere (especially the patio in the summer) and the staff are always helpful! Try the Board Poutine, you wont regret it!!
We would visit again. Our favourite is to share the Scotch Egg between the two of us as an appetizer. What a superb dish! The Parmesan Fish, Tide & Boar salad and mini/side of boar poutine was tasty. During our second night we tried different items and were shocked by the portion size of the Korean Chicken. It is definitely shareable or you are taking uneaten portions home. A few of the lesser IBU beers were tried and enjoyed. A special thanks to the staff both nights who were very helpful, pleasant and efficient. The Red N Stormy was enjoyed too.
Be careful, they put ketchup on their poutines, not very fitting for purists. Korean chicken was a huge portion and the chicken was a little dry. The beer selection is on point.
My absolute favorite local spot. The food has been the most consistent high quality of any place Ive eaten. The polenta fries are a real treat!
Chowder left me a little disappointed. Very soup like and for $18 a bowl, needed a lot more . Food
