Great and Quick service. We tried mysore masala dosa, Idli and vada. Everything was delicious. Definitely recommend Mysore Masala Dosa. In dessert we tried Gajar ka halwa and it was amazing.
If you are craving for dosa/ South Indian food in the Moncton area, they have best Dosa in Moncton that I have so far!! Food had authentic south Indian taste! I ordered Maasori Masala Dosa! Size itself was amazing! I ordered Veggie Thali as well it was also great in quantity and quality! The server was kind and helpful as well! I visited late night might be the reason but they can add more to make the atmosphere more ambient and family oriented. Paid Street parking is available in front, you can ask their employees for other options! Overall, great experience:)
One of the best places to taste authentic South Indian food. Went there with my wife and tried the lamb roast, sultana rice, kerala parotta, Mutton biryani and Chai Tea. 4 star for the food is just because Biryani didn't have that authentic taste we were looking for.
It's a small and quaint restaurant with very good reviews! Time to put it to the test. So far I've been very unimpressed with the Indian food in town. The service is welcoming and offers quite a bit of recommendations and details explaining the food. That to me is a good sign. We ordered the Mysore Dosa and Masala Uthappam and a Falooda for desert. The Mysore Dosa to my pleasant surprise was very good and sampling the Masala Uthappam that my gf ordered also had a good texture and flavour. Have we finally found a good Indian restaurant in town? Also the side dish the Sambar stew was very flavourful. I have a favourite south Indian restaurant in BC and this place was comparable. For the Falooda, honestly it was ok, maybe just not my type of dessert, I've never tried it before. I think I would have really liked it if they would have taken out the canned tasting fruit and replaced it with fresh mangoes and fresh strawberries. Pricewise I don't feel ripped off and its not as ridiculously priced like some other restaurants in town... I haven't tried their North Indian food, so I can't speak for that yet until I try it. But for now I would recommend this place as it satisfied my palate.
Tried Darbar with a friend recently. I had the chicken biryani, which was decent, and my friend seemed pretty happy with his mutton biryani. The customer service was great—our server was very helpful and friendly. However, I’m still scratching my head about what kind of Indian food they specialize in. The restaurant is called “Darbar by the Madras Cafe,” but the interior and menu give off serious Kerala vibes, while the music playing was full-on Punjabi beats. It’s like the restaurant’s having a bit of an identity crisis—but hey, at least it’s a fun one!
If you’re looking for the best Indian restaurant in Moncton, this place is a must-visit! They offer a fantastic selection of both South Indian and North Indian options, so there’s something for everyone. The Kerala Parotta is hands down the best I’ve ever had—perfectly soft and flaky. And don’t forget to try their Falooda—it’s incredibly delicious and a perfect way to end the meal. The location is great, making it a perfect spot to bring family and friends for a delightful meal. The ambiance and service were top-notch, and I’ll definitely recommend this place to anyone. Without a doubt, I’ll be coming back. It’s truly the best in town!
Darbar Restaurant and Bar offers an authentic South Indian dining experience right in the heart of downtown. I recently visited for breakfast and was thoroughly impressed with the food and service. I started with the Masala Dosa, which was delightfully crispy on the outside and filled with a perfectly spiced potato mixture inside. It reminded me of the dosas back home—just the right balance of flavor and texture. Another standout was the Uzhunu Vada, freshly made and served piping hot. The taste transported me straight to India; crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and absolutely delicious. Their Uthappam, a South Indian pancake, was also a highlight—crispy on the edges yet soft in the middle, topped with fresh onions. I couldn’t resist trying their filter coffee. The service was excellent, with a sweet and attentive waitress who ensured everything was perfect. I also had the chance to meet Chef Unni, whose efficiency and dedication were evident in every dish. The only downside was the parking situation. Being in downtown, parking was a bit tricky, though I eventually found a pay parking lot about 200 meters away. Overall, Darbar Restaurant and Bar is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic South Indian cuisine in Moncton. I highly recommend it for a delicious and satisfying meal.
Placed a order here tonight and tried a few options : Lamb briyani and sulthana rice with sides of pappadum, parotta and raitha. The flavours and textures and balance of fragrant scents....perfection. Also got gulab jamun, rasgulla ( freebie) and cheesecake gulab jamun. Enough left over for 2 more meals and rasgulla/mini cheesecake left over.
Their biryanis excellent. Exactly how it should be unlike most other indian restaurants selling glorified fried rice and labelling them as biryani.
We visited this place in evening and tried south Indian cuisines, vada sambhar,Masor masala dosa and masala uthapam, and falooda. This is is the best place to try south Indian cuisines in Moncton area. This is small restaurant but they serve authentic south Indian cuisines served with love in reasonable price.parking is little trickier.location is perfect. Vegetarian options: Dosa,vada-sambher , masala uthapam Parking: Street parking for free available on Saturday and Sunday depending on your luck.Paid parking during week days.
Only dosa and Idli is good. Chutney s and sambhar is not good to have. Sambhar looks like potato gravy, we got one big potato in it nothing else just gravy and a potato.
Good food good people
We loved ghee roast, uttapam, or set dosa
The ambience was okay. Really loud music. Navjot was really great server loved her service. we ordered madras mutton, uzu vada and mysore masala dosa. madras mutton was very chewy and overcooked would not recommend for the price point. uzu vada and mysore masala dosa was really good the quantity was good for the price point.
I ordered two veg thalis for dinner and got only one simple roti( usually it comes with one naan or two tawa rotis) with each thali and that was not even fresh. Food was not that delicious and fresh. Food
We went there for dinner and the food was so delicious we ordered Paneer dosa and Chicken curry with their special Karela roti, Everything was delicious and fresh. Unfortunately we cant come back we came from NS but if we ever came we will definitely be here. The server there her name Nav, was absolutely amazing and she was so nice and friendly.

We just ordered online on Uber eats a veg Thali and we were so hungry, but when we tasted it, the rice is not fresh and desert Gulab Jamun is also not fresh and not soft as well.
A repeat customer who highly recommends this joint. Nice ambience, service and dishes. Must visit
Vegetarian options: Service and food was great! Food
I order so many times from here I think so more than 10 times online and even usually come to eat in person . Firstly in first the food quality and quantity was the best but when after sometime they decrease the quantity . I ordered today also before that same item was 2* more but now it is 2* less .
Highly Recommend.Good quality food.

Best Mutton Biryani in town
Situated at the downtown Moncton. Undoubtedly most authentic Indian food tastes you will find around here. Basically it s is the same team from Madras cafe (for those who know the place) but this time with more space and items on the card. Had their beef biriyani and chicken 65 poutine which had this amazing South Indian and Canadian fusion. Vegetarian options: A whole section is there for vegetarian options only Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free and all halal food
I had masala uttpam, masala dosa and faluda ice cream. Food, presentation, service and quantity were great. Vegetarian options: It has a lot of options for vegetarians Kid-friendliness: They dnt have kids menu however he really enjoyed as they customized a bit of spice for him
Very bad service and food.
