Gusto Italian Grill & Bar in Moncton

Bf and I were looking for a restaurant offering gluten free options and we are so glad we picked Gusto! We werent really planning a date night, just wanted to try something different for supper, and we didnt know what to expect before we walked in. What an experience! Whenever we got inside, we almost left because we realized it was actually super fancy; he was wearing his Dunlops and I had my splash jacket on because we both just got off work, so we felt a little out of place, but we decided why not have a date night. We were lead upstairs into an absolutely gorgeous place with an even better atmosphere. Ive never been to Italy, but I dream this is what it feels like. The staff at Gusto were so polite to us. They lit a candle for us and asked us how our night was going, and really made us feel welcome despite our very, very casual attire. If you are someone who eats gluten free, you need to know that they serve you fluffy, warm, gluten free bread before your meal and it is to-die-for. I got the gluten free pizza, he had the chicken alfredo, and we were both very satisfied with the food, which is also a great price! We agreed that well be going back again, hopefully very soon! Thanks for making our night so special guys!

Lovely experience always at gusto. The service was great too. I love Italian foods and it s a great relief that gusto is close by and also has my favorite Italian menu.

We are regular clients , and held our staff party here last night. As always the Hospitality was amazing, Brett, Rean, Erika, Kelly-Anne, and Remy, made our night super special by ensuring that everything was perfect. The food here is always the best in town, no matter what you get, but its the level of service and attention that is the BIG winner. Thank you all for making our night so amazing!

Food is good! It s way too dark inside that u can t even read menu. Was with a senior and they fell coming out cause they missed the stairs! Put some lights on so people can see. Going to find a new go to moving forward. Also taking lasagna off menu in an Italian restaurant

I had the opportunity to visit Gusto during my first visit in Moncton and boy did it not disappoint. From the atmosphere to the food, everything was so so delicious. The ceasar salad is amazing and so was the carrot cake cheesecake. Generous portions for the prices.

I had the mussels as an appetizer and lasagna for dinner. Both were really good! The focaccia bread was amazing, didnt even need butter. My date had the seafood risotto which was delicious. Highly recommend. Food

Lovely restaurant in Moncton. A little loud but it was a Friday night so that s to be expected. The food was lovely - highly recommend the pizza. The cheesecake was one of the best I ve had in the maritimes! Great for date night or night out with friends. Decent price point for a nice dinner - I would definitely return!

Good food great atmosphere

Had a great dining experience. Sat at the bar, service was great! Highly recommend the bourbon apple drink if you drink alcohol. The burrata was excellent.

Gusto is my absolute favorite! I brought 3 of my girl friends for a night out at Gustos! We had my fave appetizer the caprese + their special of the night and the chicken bites. NONE were a disappointment it was sooooo good!! We then got a Gusto Pizza, although it was good, I found it a bit dry, I asked for the parm dipping sauce and that fixed the issue. My friends got the chicken marsala, her chicken and the marsala sauce was amazing, she took the cubed potatoes, i thought they were just bland, no spice or anything, so it was just plain, which was ok, my other friend had the chicken parmagiana which was a 11/10 it was absolutely amazing! I rank it up there with the seafood mac and cheese!! The fettuccine alfredo with it was good too! I tried the salmon with mash potatoes! The potatoes were heaven!! The salmon was good, but I felt like a glaze either like a lemon dill or a maple could have elevated it. The waitress was absolutely amazing, we LOVED her and tipped her well. We had a great night! Hope this become our new monthly outting!

Gusto has been a favorite spot for a while and its allways good everytime we go! Pizza is amazing!

My wife and I had a late evening meal tonight, food was great, service was excellent and atmosphere was enjoyable. I had the Fettuccini Gusto with shrimp and my wife had the Chicken Parm. The serving size was quite large, also enjoyed the Bruschetta .

Such a great experience. The food was great but the best part was our server Maria! She was so attentive, made recommendations and just overall a fantastic server. I cant say enough about how she really made all the difference. We are visiting from Ontario but if we lived here this would be a regular place for us.

Laura, our server, was great. The rest was a blah experience. The lasagna was burnt on the bottom. My salmon was blah and the so called crispy roasted potatoes were not as described in the menu. The only good thing about my meal was the 2 pieces of cauliflower. I know their trying to create ambiance but it is too dark as soon as you walk in. I had to use my cell flashlight to read the menu. Its a shame we had heard good things about this restaurant and we waited for our anniversary to try it.

I wrote this review four years ago and still agree after several more visits: Super nice decor and friendly atmosphere. Our meal was delicious and the portions were good without being too big. Menu varied and easy to access on the Internet if you feel the need to consult it before choosing your restaurant. Excellent table service (good frequency without being overwhelming). I recommend without hesitation.

Ate there before the concert. Great service. Fantastic food. Cold drinks. Beautiful venue. We will be back.

Best food place in moncton, bar none!

Im really happy to have been able to try the food here, Ive been dying to go for a few years now but sadly it was overall lacking. The ingredients were absolutely top notch, no disputing that however everything was under seasoned and underwhelming, the pasta portion was SO small and on half of my pizza the crust was burnt and acrid. I got two dishes which totalled $60.37 and let me tell you as a foodie, Im more than happy to spend on exceptional food and experience, this was not it. Definitely disappointed, I had high hopes.

I like the lighting of the restaurant so I chose to celebrate my birthday here. However, I was not happy with this experience. My friend and I arrived at the restaurant at 7:30pm and ordered from 8pm. However, the food was not served until 9:40pm. During this long wait, I observed the other tables. When the staff was serving our food, several other tables that were seated around the same time as us had already finished their meals. When I asked the restaurant employee why, she explained that steaks take a long time to cook. I dont know why the steak took an hour to cook, all I know is that we waited until all the other guests around us had left before we started eating. Finally the waiter said they would give away a cupcake as compensation. But that didnt make us feel valued because the restaurant closes at 10:00 , and we had to eat quickly. The service was very disappointing for me and my friends and it was one of the worst birthday experiences Ive ever had.

Love the food here. Very loud, noisy and crowded. Not a place for a quiet, intimate dinner.

We recently took my team to Gusto Italian Restaurant in downtown Moncton for dinner, and while we had high hopes based on some great recommendations, our experience was quite disappointing. One standout suggestion was the seafood risotto, which half of our table was excited to order after our server mentioned it was her favorite dish. However, after waiting 45 minutes for our orders, we were informed that they had run out of the risotto. I find it hard to believe they wouldnt know they were out of a popular dish at the time of ordering. This was frustrating and disrupted our dining experience. Having to choose another dish, I went with the Linguini Frutti di Mare seafood pasta, but it was underwhelming. The dish was mostly pasta, with very little seafood just one scallop, three prawns, and two small pieces of lobster. It felt far from special and didnt meet the expectations I have for Italian cuisine. Overall, it was a letdown, and its unlikely that we will return, especially when there are plenty of other places where we can find a delicious seafood risotto. I hope they can improve their communication and menu management in the future.

Food and service were great. Highly recommend the Arancini for an appetizer and get some kind of cake for dessert. They are all delicious and huge pieces. My wife and I were sat at a tiny table wedged in between two other tables. It was a tight squeeze that felt very cramped. The great food made up for it though. Over all a 4/5.

I visited just for the cheesecake, and it was amazing! The ambiance and atmosphere perfectly capture the essence of Italian vibes.

It is definitely an excellent restaurant. We arrived without a reservation and fortunately we were able to sit at the bar which was very pleasant. I highly recommend and would go back whenever I visit Moncton again.

On my visit to Moncton, came across the best sea food Risotto i have ever tasted. The staff was polite and helpful with suggestions. The ambience was wonderful and the best part was the music was playing at a low volume. Which means the guests can talk to each other without having to shout. All the dishes served at our table, were flavourful and visually appealing. Will surely come back for more on my next visit.

Gusto never disappoints! I sighed an app, a pizza, a couple drinks, and a piece of cake for a couple! Perfect date night!

Great place! the food is absolutely amazing and the atmosphere is so fun! Just a small suggestion on hostess taking reservations on the phone; if they could be a little more welcoming when speaking to guests it would make the experience a 10/10. It s always nice to hear someone be enthusiastic on the phone when making reservations.

I typically dont write bad reviews, but I would not recommend Gustos to anyone after the terrible experience I had during my birthday dinner. Things started off decently with a Bruschetta appetizer, which was actually good, but everything went downhill from there. I ordered a Filet Mignon, well-done, and specifically mentioned I prefer it that way. When my steak first came out, it was undercooked more like medium rare, with visible blood. The waiter apologized, took it back, and the manager even came over to apologize and offered to comp both my steak and my stepdad s steak for the mistake. When they brought my steak back, it was the same one, and still undercooked this time, it was pink and not at all what I asked for. By this point, almost everyone at the table had finished eating, and I was just over it. I didn t want anything else from them; I just wanted to leave. What should have been a special birthday dinner turned into a fast food run at McDonalds. Thankfully, the next day, I went to Baton Rouge, which was in its soft launch, and they made up for the disappointment. They served me a proper steak and turned my birthday around. Gustos, on the other hand, failed completely, and I wont be going back.

I seriously don t understand why our experience was so disappointing when so many people seem to enjoy this place a lot. Honestly foods were worse than East side Mario and I say this after having gone through many fine dining experience in many other great Italian places. I do know what good pasta, pizza tastes like. We ordered Margherita pizza , unbelievably salty (not edible), Salmon was not fresh at all (felt like frozen ones), pasta pesto was tasteless. We went during dinner time, service was about average, overall terrible experience. We will never go back but i really wish to know HOW and WHY our dining experience was so terrible?!

Just visiting Moncton from Fredericton. This restaurant understands the importance of creating a total experience. That is why I rated all 3 categories a 5 star. Pizza, salads and dessert were excellent. My wife and I appreciated the complimentary fresh made bread with olive oil dip as an app. Our server Erika was outstanding in looking after every single detail in a first class manner. The atmosphere has a warm, cozy , well-designed feel. For us this is the best place in Moncton for Italian food backed by an excellent staff.

Very disappointed with the crusted wood fired salmon as it had little to no crust, was over cooked and tasted bland. Roasted potatoes tasted more like boiled than roasted. I Did say something to the waitress and she said I could get you salt pepper and Parmesan cheese. My friend s meal, seafood risotto was very delicious. For the price I paid for this meal I was very disappointed and not sure I would go back.

A busy spot, popular, staff were very friendly despite being very busy. Food was very good, lasagna was huge, great pasta layers and tomato sauce. Caesar salad was fresh lettuce, bacon and fresh Parmesan. It is noisy since it was very busy and a bit dark. Bathrooms clean. Desserts looked awesome, large variety of cakes.

My husband and I went on a date here on a Wednesday night. Their gluten free bread actually tasted like real bread! It s up there in my top 3 favourite gluten free breads. We shared the gluten free pasta carbonara and the gluten free New Yorker. They were both delicious! For dessert, the gluten free lemoncello cheesecake. Our experience there made me feel a little more normal. Our meals didn t look drastically different from the regular ones. I felt comfortable and safe. Updating review. I went here with 3 others (my husband and another couple) and we didnt have the best food that time. The friends have since gone back (they live in Moncton) and have sent video messages to us raving about the food and how wonderful it all was. We personally are unfortunately unable to try again as we live in Ottawa, but I did make the first review based on our collective experience, so Im updating it to reflect their better experience this time. The atmosphere and service were impeccable on our original visit. I am happy they enjoyed their food so much on their second visit.

The place is nice, very friendly and cheerful staff at the door who seated us quickly. Service and food were average. We were asked for our drink order as we were being seated and had not even looked at the menu yet. Service felt like a bit out of sync with our pace. Not terrible, not impressive, but ok. Food was along the same lines. I expected better pizza, for example, from a genuine wood-burning oven. What came out was ok. Overall, the place is fine, lively atmosphere, nice decor, well equipped kitchen. Our experience with service was just middle-of-the-road and food quality matched that of service.

Amazing servie! Jacob helped us find what we wanted, spoke french for my partner that didn t understand english. Food was really well prepared! It came by very quickly and it was delicious. The atmosphere is very cozy and comfortable, good music and dim lights give the restaurent an amazing vibe. Definitely recommend to anyone who loves sea food or Italian food. Meals a costly, but the size of the plates make up for it. Big recommendation to the sea food mac and cheese!

A great place to go for date night or groups large and small. Friendly, attentive staff. Good quality food that wont break the bank (though it is pricier than a typicla chain restaurant - as it shoukd be). The 24-layer chocolate cake is SO DELICIOUS. Wheelchair accessibility: We had someone with accessibility needs and they let us in the back where there is a ramp and gave us a table on the first floor.

Wow! Super nice surprise on vacation in Moncton! We relied on the comments (in the top 10 restaurants in Moncton) and we are delighted!! There were 9 of us (including 5 children) and we all loved it! Great atmosphere, welcoming staff, varied choices and everyone loved it, for a very reasonable price too! What more could you ask for?

Excellent Restaurant!!! The decor and atmosphere are magical but most importantly, the food was excellent. This is the best Italian restaurant I have eaten at in all of Canada & USA. Claudie, our waitress was super friendly. The dining room is very large and on 2 floors so we didnt have a reservation and didnt have to wait. (Weeknight) Parking: There is a very small parking lot reserved for restaurant customers. Otherwise, there are 2 paid municipal parking lots right next door. Kid-friendliness: The menu on the internet does not have a childrens menu but when we arrived there, there was one.

Nice place for a date or casual dinner. I ordered the Salmone Siciliana and chose the PEI roasted potatoes. My table mate ordered the lasagna, to which he absolutely loved it. I liked mine too and was quite full. We decided to grab dessert as well. I ordered the Limoncello while the other was the cookie dough cake. I liked the dessert except for the bottom, which was quite dry. My table mates cake looked so rich and decadent. I definitely shouldve stolen some Dietary restrictions: They offer Gluten Free options.

If i had my own mancave, I would get my inspiration from this restaurant. The ambience here is spectacular, not to mention the service. The waiter was on point, we never had to summon him, the food was prepared and served hot and fresh! Great Italian cuisine and atmosphere! Very close to a 5 star!

Ordered take out from the menu off their website, I asked for the Spaghetti Bolognaise, person confirmed Spaghetti asked if there was anything else, which was a no and told it would be about 20 mins. Received a text on my way over to say that it was ready for pickup and person at the dessert bar confirms my pickup as spaghetti and meatballs ($6 price difference) I mentioned that I had asked for the Bolognaise that I saw on their online menu, was just told that they often take stuff off their online menu, wasnt really offered a different option or if I wanted to look at the menu for something else then. So I was told it shouldnt be too long after I received a message that it was ready. Stood by the counter for another 12 mins waiting. So I get was I was given which I didnt ask for. Food great just like I remember it, just please if youre going to not change your website menu at least have your staff mention that when an order is being placed instead of substituting it for something else more expensive without options being presented to the customer. Cheers.

From a simple Google search we found the best restaurant we had eaten at in the 2 weeks we were in the Maritimes. Everything we ate was spectacular. From the seasoning and olive oil dip for the bread, the mozzarella Fritti with perfect crust, scallops with amazing flavor, lasagna and chicken Parmesan. The lasagna was the best I d ever tasted. And then the deserts!! Ferraro Rocher cheesecake and 24 layer chocolate cake .wowzer! And to top it off Erin our server went above and beyond. Explaining all the dishes, answering our many questions and making us feel cared for. She was amazing.

The food and ambiance was amazing. Friendly staff and I recommend this restaurant. We will definitely come again. Parking: Discount clients for parking in market parking.

Quick service even though it was Canada day! We also received our delicious dishes really soon after ordering, with just enough time for the appetizer before the main course. Always a great spot for a date night!

I took my girlfriend out for a date here for the second time and to be honest im not sure if Ill be coming again.. Not because of the food, the food was delicious dont get me wrong! The service also was great BUT what really turned us off was the amount of flies fruit flies it was FULL. They were flying around us , landing on us itching to the point it was really disturbing quite disgusting to be honest! I cant imagine how many goes on the plates, food etc.. I dont know if its because of all the wine around in there but for a fancy restaurant this was definitely a first for us.

I have been here twice now when visiting from Halifax and I wont go again. Note to anyone who looks at the menu in advance, most of the things that they say come as gluten free do not. I brought this up to them at my visit in 2023. Then returned again in 2024 to find that there still had been no update on the online menu to reflect the accuracy of their offerings

We were there last August and the atmosphere, flavor and choice was excellent!! We were pleasantly welcomed, served and what can we say about the food it was excellent, fresh and tasty!! I honestly recommend it!! Parking: It is right on the side of the restaurant and accessible quickly. Kid-friendliness: There is a childrens menu.

My wifes steak was good although a bit salty. My pasta al Gusto was dry and bland, I couldnt finish it. We waited 1 hour for our food to arrive. All of the servers were very kind and friendly, but if you want to work there youd better buy some good running shoes. It was not a romantic anniversary dinner because it was so loud we couldnt talk to each other. Im not sure why this restaurant has such a good rating. We definitely would not go there again.

Fabulous place for dining in downtown Moncton for pizza lovers. Place has extremely nice vibes with for dining experience. Delicious food, great service thats all you need. They give you complimentary house bread with olive oil. I have tried Linguini Carbonara and Pizza Gusto. Both were super delicious.

Went for supper with a few friends of mine and we absolutely loved it!! We were sat almost immediately, amazing atmosphere and even better service! Erika is an absolute pro, very friendly and knowledgeable and the food was outstanding. Really can t say enough about our amazing experience here. We will definitely be back!!

A gorgeous place with a unique atmosphere. It can be intimate for a date but also welcoming for a family with two little kids like ours. The menu is delicious, and the service is very warm and attentive

We used to love Gusto. It was a great place to go for date night, especially to celebrate something special. But our last 3x in the last 2 years werent great. Last night was the last straw. We ordered the burrata caprese as an appetizer. If the main part of your dish is tomatoes, please make sure they are fresh and not soggy. It ruins the experience and the taste. Then while we were still eating our appetizer, our mains were brought over. Strike 2. I had the fettucini and I had to return it. The pasta was barely cooked (barely al dente) and the garlic in it was raw. It was one of the worst meals I have had. Thank goodness, the server took it off our bill. My spouse ask for a box for his pizza (good but thrown together however possible, no effort into making it) and was brought a tiny box so all of the pizza would stick together. Strike 4. For a place where you leave with a $100, we will not be going again due to the lack of consistency with the food quality but also because of the poor service.

I checked out the restaurant on line and thought the steak would be great but the hostess sat us near the pizza oven. It smelled and looked so great I had to have it. I was not disappointed! The Best wood oven pizza I have ever had!

15 layer lasagna?!? OMG, best ever.

We had an early reservation on a Friday, because 5-830 was booked solid, so make a reservation! Our waiter seated us and asked if we needed to be anywhere in a hurry (eg. for a show). What we needed not fear, because the service and food came quickly. The bread is amazing, but dont fill up because the portions are really great for a restaurant like this. We had pizzas, carbonara, arrancini, and the panko parm chicken bites. Everything was delicious, lots of takeout. Save room for dessert and if you cant, get it to go. Cheesecakes are insanely good! I brought a 14 and 11 year old, everyone happy. Cannot wait to go back!

SO GOOD! I loved my experience. I forgot the name of the server at the bar, but he guided me really well in my meal and drink choices, in addition to being super friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice, beautiful decor and lighting. I ate the best pasta carbonara of my life and the cheesecake humbled me . I thought I was making good cheesecake until I tried this one

Thursday night visit. This was spur of the moment walk-in visit for table of 4. We were accommodated right away with no wait even though they were quite busy. We were seated on the 2nd floor of the restaurant. We were towards the bar side of the 2nd floor with an open kitchen to our other side. Very nice full wall length bar that would be great for a pre-meal martini or glass of wine. Also, if travelling solo, this bar would be great to have your meal at. The open kitchen was busy and interesting to have in view. Wood fired pizza oven here and this was a very busy station in the kitchen. The 2nd floor was quite loud and busy in a good way, great background atmosphere. The 1st floor of the restaurant looked like it would be quieter and make for a more intimate meal. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. Must have been ½ lb of meatballs in this serving with large serving of very good spaghettini and marinara. This tasted great. Other dishes ordered this visit were Pasta All Gusto, Italian Butcher pizza, and Chicken Parm. Everyone really enjoyed their meals and presentation was very nice. Apps were not ordered but some very nice selections on the menu. Bread and oil with herb was served before the meal, so good. Server was Bernadette and she was top notch. Very much appreciated her service. And very much enjoyed our visit to Gusto, we will be back.

Really enjoyed our experience here. Service was great, did take a while to get the food, but once we had it, everything was delicious, the atmosphere was better than anticipated.

What a gem of a place! Terrific food, amazing service, unique and relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend! Parking: Off street parking is available, but limited.

What can I say? Its Gusto! This is Monctons finest restaurant!!

I made a reservation for Thursday evening dinner, but still waited for about 20 minutes. There was no communication after being told our server would be right with us, so we waited quietly until finally meeting our server and being seated. The food wasnt too salty and was perfectly seasoned, and it tasted delicious.

You need to treat yourself with a great Italian food while visiting Moncton!

I was here for a conference and ate here three nights in a row. The food is hearty and flavourful; and the Apple bourbon was excellent.

Seafood risotto is ridiculously good and the chicken parm is as big as your head!! Parking: Very few spots at the restaurant but a good sized lot just a few steps away.

A beautiful space, our server was wonderful, food was very good and the price was very reasonable.

I enjoy their Ceasar salad. Unfortunately, on this night, the service was less than usual. They took their time to get to take my order. No offer of dessert. Very few smiles. They are doing their job and no more.

My partner and I had the most incredible meal here. Our server, Mariia was phenomenal; so attentive and kind, and when she found out we were celebrating my birthday, she offered a slice of cake on the house. The Parmesan Chicken Bites and the Alfredo pasta were absolutely incredible, as well as the drinks. They are also very attentive to allergies! Ambiance is lovely. Prices are very fair, especially given the quality. We will absolutely be back.

The atmosphere here is great. Its always busy so it feels like a lively night out no matter when you go! The food is incredible and the carrot cake and chocolate ganache is out of this world. Our server Leah was top notch, out going, friendly and knowledgeable! We will be back!

The service is incredible , Alyssa was amazing! The food I ordered ( scallops, rizotto with seafood ) was amaaaaaaaaazing !!!!!!!!! The Mac n cheese with seafood as well ! :) wow!

Weve been to Gustos many times. Always had a great time, service and food! But this time was different. We had calamari and arancini which were good! Our main dishes were pasta carbonara and my wife had the pizza. The carbonara was very dry and way too much pepper...and I love pepper! I wasnt able to finish my dish. My wifes marguarita pizza was dry also, the sauce was almost non existent. Also, we had to get up and find the waiter twice, for utensils, as they served the starters, and our main without them. When it came to paying our bill, they had our guest pay our bill. So the supervisor and the waitress needed to take time to figure out what happened and they did fix it. Our waitress was very polite and nice, but seemed overwhelmed. Last the washrooms, were clean, but they were missing soap, paper towels, and toilet paper in some of the stalls. I loved Gustos in our past experiences, but for the money we pay, this night was a flop for us! Well certainly be thinking twice before going again...if we do ever go back.

They have good food, but not a lot of options without pork, especially their pizza. I ordered Chicken Pesto, and they put baken in it

The scallop is a must try! The best scallop we had in this trip to the North. Leah is super friendly and patient to every table. Risotto was a bit overcooked and pasta was average - but the scallops were just amazing! Also love the bread too.

I ate here for the first time in 2023 and well I was hooked. The atmosphere is very different but unique. When I had the opportunity to travel to NB from NS for a work function - I couldnt leave without eating at Gusto! We got the pizza and cheesecake. The pizza was a thin crust delicious pizza. The toppings were fresh. The cheesecake was perfectly sweet and a great way to end the meal! Cant wait to be back for another meal!

Went here for my birthday! They got me a surprise cake and the candle tasted amazing! What an amazing surprise!!!

Food was amazing. Ate there two days in a row it was so good normal menu can get a bit pricey depending on your tastes. Lunch specials are amazing and the price was awesome for the quality and quantity of food you get. Staff was friendly. Very nice atmosphere

Phenomenal food, service, and atmosphere. Honestly, there is likely nothing on the menu you can pick without being satisfied! Was only in Moncton for a couple of weeks, but managed to have dinner here twice, whereas my colleagues went three times! If youre around this area, I strongly recommend dining here, you will not regret it!

Was here for the first time with some people Id attended a conference with and it was fantastic on almost all points. The food was fantastic - the Italiano Mac and Cheese . The waitress was amazing - friendly, attentive, talkative. Only complaint was that it was very loud and hard to have a conversation. But I guess it being so packed is also a good thing ;)

Italian cuisine is up to par, very well served, really reminiscent of Mediterranean dishes
