Kimganae Korean BBQ in Moncton

We stopped for dolsat bibimbap. It was delicious. The iron pot could have been hotter as I like it to crisp the rice. Service was quick and great. The crab stick tempura was super good. Overall- close to a five star.

The rice should be cooked at least without hard core, either put extra water in the pot. We ordered a kimchi soup, the seasoning was under seasoned. The presentation was alright, but the kimchi looked like not very fresh honestly. Service was excellent, can t complain. If someone cook the food please follow the chef s recipe and standards. Btw, there s no bbq served at the place.

Drove down for a date-day from Chaleur region really excited for Korean BBQ, walked in and was told they dont offer K-BBQ. The business name is very deceiving and the Google Maps images need to be updated to remove the K-BBQ pictures. We were very disappointed and ended up leaving.

Excellent atmosphere and service. Staff is very friendly. The menu is extensive and the prices are absolutely reasonable. Weve done takeout and dine-in and all experiences have been great. Highly recommend the BBQ table, its fun to grill your own food and the meat is extremely good quality. 10/10 one of the best, if not the best, Korean restaurant in town hands down Update Jul 2024: Theyve moved locations, so unfortunately, the BBQ table is no longer available. However, theyve updated the menu with even more great options. The new location is smaller, but its very cozy and clean. Parking: Small parking lot, limited options for larger vehicles. Bring your car, not your truck!

Best food I ve had in a while . Never had a bad bite . Amazing food.

We had a 30 minute wait as the small dining space was packed when we arrived on a Sunday at 630; we took that as a good sign. All of the food coming out of the kitchen looked amazing and it was hard to decide on what to order. What we did chose was hot, fresh, and delicious. The service was excellent and our server was over several times to refill our water and confirm we were happy with our food. I will be eating here again and trying out some of the other dishes on the menu. Parking: There is a limited amount of parking in a small lot. There are other business lots close by if there is no room available.

Edemame, sushi pizza, and shrimp yaki sobe (stir fry) very flavorful. Always enjoy going here. They are always busy and sometimes a little inattentive but they have Ringo bells on every table if you need anything

Every 6 months or so I decide to come down to this place because I love the idea of cooking my own food on the little grill tables. I say every 6 months because everytime I go I forget how cheap they are there. The first thing that they told me while being seated is that I could only tip with cash and not with a card, to which I found to be a weird way to ask someone how they are doing. You pay the 35-40$ a person for the bbq, they bring you a plate of meat, a few pieces of lettuce (used as one bite tacos), and literally ONE table spoon of sauce. Which I found to be surprising considering the last time I came it with 3 different sauces and a plate of veggies not included as of late. So throughout the meal I rang the buzzer for 2 more plates of lettuce (which they charge extra for), the 2 sauces I was missing, and the 3 sauces over and over again. I could go into more detail but this is getting quite long. Cheap buggers stepping over dimes to pick up pennies

Everything looks good but just dont get the Ramen if you know Ramen...it was overpriced and just a frozen bag mix of broccoli, bell peppers and carrots, with an overboiled egg The pork was chopped up fried pork.

I never write any reviews on google but this time i have to do this because if I don t i feel not fair for all customers. We came to visit this restaurant in Moncton yesterday, and this is the second time. After we all set for the menu the electric cord under the bbq table started to burn and smoke, and they came to move us with 3 kids to other table without any apologies for it. After the food came out , we figured out the vegetables wasn t clean, they didn t wash the vegetables clean probably. This is just unacceptable and unprofessional.

Stopped in here on a Friday night at 8.05pm. Asked if the kitchen was open and was told that it would be closed in 10 mins. Ordered bulgogi spicy and chicken japchae. One of my hugest pet peeves ... ordered 6$ green tea, got a half filled pot and no follow up service. Water was never refilled ... and didnt even want to ask for extra Gojochang. They have a great buzzer system to alert services to when you need a follow up ... however after asking if they offered Banchan, Kimchi or any typical openers I would expect in Korean restaurant ... it was a firm no. I asked for Soju ... flat no. They were... more interested in closing at 9pm than anything else. The service was very unKorean and catered for white people who had never been to Korea or knew anything about Korean food. By the time it was 8.30, the kitchen was closed and everyone was playing on their offering side eyes to get us out the place as quickly as possible. Maybe the team had a karaoke bar date. Finally the food. It wasnt bad but I was so put off by the terrible customer service that I couldnt move past an average and over salty Bulgogi or chicken japchae that was swimming in sauce ... the staff assumes that others havent seen what baseline good or excellent Korean food should look like. This is a tough review because this place can easily do better. Ill visit again to see if my first time was an anomaly.

Refused to take our order at 7:40 when they closed at 8:30. To clarify they still allowed take out orders at 7:40 but said they stop taking orders completely at 8. So their true closing time is 30 mins before their listed closing time. Food : 1/5

The first time was at a Korean restaurant. Surprised, very tasty. I don t remember the name of the dishes, I m adding a video. The pleasant and patient waiter recommended what we should try and served us very quickly (the wait for the entire order took 10 minutes). The chefs complement was miso soup.

As a Korean I felt so uncomfortable about their service. I went here today with my Japanese friend and two waiters from Korea keep staring and talking about us in Korean. I heard they were saying that Im going to hook up someone and laughing at me in a place where everyone can hear you. Even after they got the order, they kept doing that, I didnt want to eat anymore. I left half of my food. Im not gonna go back to this restaurant never. Be carful guys there are gonna say about you in Korean that you cannot understand. If you knew he was Korean, you should be careful. He talked about the customer so that everyone could hear, saying he was Korean and that other person was not. They were laughing amongst themselves and saying, Who am I flirting with? Is this something you want to say to a customer? It kept happening even after I ordered, so I ended up having to leave the food, so I dont think Ill ever come here again.

Great service - friendly and prompt. We got there less than an hour before closing due to getting in late from out of town. We got the bulgogi bowl with spicy beef and a Dosirak (Bento box?) with katso chicken. Food was tasty and even tho the katso chicken was crispy and tasty I preferred the bulgogi bowl out of the two (makes sense that it has best next to it on the menu!) Parking: Plenty of parking

Meh.. The dinner for 4 combo plate was 106$ After we ate everything, we were kind of thinking more food was coming? But nope! 2 chicken thighs and maybe a hlaf pound of thinly sliced meat at best for 4 adults.. Not even much for vegetables.. We ended up ordering another 40 bucks worth of sushi just so I didnt have to eat again. Agree with the other review.. New pricing model needed or the bbq tables will be finished. The other BBQ table was empty the entire hour we were there on a Friday night. The other of the restaurant seemed busier, and I think I know why. **Update - All you can eat? No I didnt expect all you can eat. But 2 chicken thighs from Costco and maybe a 1/2 pound of steak and pork for 106$ 2 slices of potato? 2 slices of onion? 2 or 3 mushrooms? These reviews are meant to help you.. Clearly you are not listening. I dont care about the price, but I dont want to leave hungry after a 120$ meal. Parking: Lots of parking

The pork bulgogi box was amazing.

Everything about this place makes a phenomenal experience EVERY time! I literally drive over a half an hour just to get their sushi and try new Korean dishes. Highly recommend. May seem expensive, but I promise its worth every dime for the quality and quantity!!

The food was amazing! The service was a little pushy but the food came out fast and the flavors were amazing. My only complaint was limitations to the BBQ. I really wanted to have the BBQ but it seems to be for 4-6 people only and there is only 2-3 tables with this feature. I look forward to going back with a few friends to enjoy the BBQ :-)

I absolutely adore this location. Every time we are in Moncton, this is our first or last stop. However, on the two most previous occasions, I have been seriously let down. The first time we stopped in I got the Beef Bulgogi Box and it instantly became one of the my favorite meals ever. And we adored the woman working (we believe she was the owner). The second time was just as good as the first, but every time after that the quality of the beef declined. Today I was excited to introduce two friends to the beef Bulgogi box, luckily both of theirs was apparently phenomenal. Mine however, was far from it. The beef was full of very tough fat that I couldnt even bite all the way through, it was flavorless, dry and cold. Every other aspect of the meal was absolutely delicious, just as it was the first time. Infact, I would say the rest of the box was 10/10 amazing. But the beef was awful. I really hope someday I can return and the beef is as good as it was the first time.

Last week was our 2nd time at Kimganae. The 1st time was about two years ago we tried the samgyupsal and since we can do samgyupsal at our house, we havent been there since. Then upon viewing the menu last week, we decided to visit it again. Afar from the request of my 6yrs old as he refer to it as the resto with comfy chair, my husbad got a bento box with spicy beef ( the level of spiciness is good and tender beef), i got bibimbap, with my 6yrs had his shrimp tempura and dynamite rolls. The serving size is good, not much nor limited, taste great too. If you love kpop songs, you probably need to go here, ambience wise, good food and music for you ear and soul. Kid-friendliness: They have cups for little kids, high chair for little ones. And importantly, they are not fussy whether you got loud or silly kids

Ive visited Kimgane in person and ordered delivery several times, but the kimbap I ordered today was the most tasteless kimbap Ive ever had. There was more rice than ingredients, and the rice was soggy and they didnt season it at all, so it was just like eating cold, unappetizing rice. Im sure the person who prepared this kimbap thought he wouldnt eat it himself. Even when dipped in the tteokbokki soup that we ordered together, it wasnt tasty. The japchae and tteokbokki that we ordered together were delicious. I could have just picked up a few pieces of kimbap that cost $10 and ate them, but then threw them away. Even if it was only $10. I am leaving an honest review because I expected value for the price and spent the money.

After we arrived in Moncton from Cabot trail around 7pm (Aug 15,2023), we booked the BBQ table for 11 people. Ordered food. Food was great. Everything are going smoothly until the server told us that they are closing about 10 minutes . So we eat our food in a hurry like a starved madman. We know that they closed at 8:30 but of course we waited to be served and we grilled the pork. My adviced is, dont booked or eat here after 6pm. You will choked trying to eat fast because they will not wait for you. They expect you to leave at closing time. In other establishment , once you enter the premises before closing time they will wait for you to finish your food I rated 2 stars because we like the food.

We went with friends and ate at a BBQ table. Our friends enjoyed their food (fried meats, ramen, etc). And we really enjoyed several vegan options: Kimchi dumplings, Fried japchae rolls, Veggie yaki soba with tofu. And there were even more vegan options to choose from - the menu is huge! Highly recommend for vegans and meat eaters alike.

This is without any doubt our favourite place to eat in Moncton. The food is delicious, the prices are very good and the team is amazing. Everytime my partner and I are in, they remember us and it really makes the whole experience priceless. Ive ordered from here many times. There sushi rolls are small, however all the food is great quality.

We did the raclette for 5 people (6 at our table) for the first time. The 6th person ordered from the menu instead. We also ordered appetizers to split between us all. The first thing that came out was the main meal for the 6th person which was odd. Then 10 minutes after, the raclette followed at the end by the appetizers. The food was good. But expensive for what it was and as I explained in a weird order.

Love their food! We ordered the 6 person combo for 4 people (we were very hungry, found their 2 person combo for 2 people wasnt enought last time), it was more than enough. The portions are on the smaller side so if youre hungry, I would suggest the next size up. Their appetizers are delicious. Great service! Suggest reserving tables for bbq ahead of time if thats what you want to order, they only have a handful of bbq tables.

Absolutely phenomenal. We are here in area on vacation and were trying to check out some of the different restaurants. The kids wanted barbecue and my wife suggested we have Korean barbecue. We were unsure what there was available so we had a good look and this restaurant came up. The customer feedback was overwhelmingly positive. We reviewed the negative feedback and found it to be a little ridiculous. We have visited many restaurants that cover a wide variety of price ranges and this is probably one of the best Korean restaurants that weve been to, especially one that has Korean bbq. We found the pricing to be actually quite reasonable for the quality of food. Our waiter was very friendly and courteous. He made some very pleasant suggestions and suggested what we might like to try for our barbecue instead of ordering one specific item. We actually got a combo plate which allowed us to have many different things. He also worked with my wife to create some sort of custom concoction of combining two different menu items together and they were able to do it. We had a small amount of food left over and we brought it home because I ate my fill and everybody else ate their feel as well and it was just too delicious to leave. The food was a little sweeter than our local Korean restaurant but then again, they have a different menu selection and different flavor profile. I happen to prefer this one over the local option. I feel kind of bad only having one picture and thats because I was too busy eating. We took the picture attached shortly after our plate of barbecue arrived and our miso soup. Unfortunately we didnt bother taking pictures when the other food arrived because we just started digging in and eating. It was absolutely phenomenal and I would definitely recommend this establishment for anyone looking for amazing Korean barbecue in the area. We didnt try their other dishes but if youre looking for an experience instead of just eating, try the barbecue.

Someone recommended this when we had our kids at HSJ play space. I want to thank them for this recommendation. The best Korean BBQ resturant we tried in a very very long time. This is a must try resturant.

First time in and not the last. Everything from the appetizer to the main course was delicious. A huge variety on the menu... only thing wrong with that, it makes it hard to decide what to chose. . Love the idea of the call button on the table. If its too busy and you need something, great way to get the servers attention. Cant wait to go back to try something else on the menu.

dont get me wrong. food is really good but service today (sept. 26, 2022) is terrible! this korean server did not even check on us and one of us had to go up to the counter to ask for water because he never gave us water and he was just over at the counter chitchatting! and whenever we asked for something (because he never bothered getting the empty plates or not even asked if we were okay) he would whisper something to himself or say something to the table beside us which I think his friends and then they would laugh and look at us. ALSO i politely asked for the wifi password and he told me its at the door, go look what is this kimganae? please dont tolerate these kind of people! omg never going back. rude people.

The tteok-bokki is SO GOOD! Just the perfect amount of spice and super flavourful. I also tried the kimganae ramen. I found it a bit bland. Wouldn t order it again. I will definitely be coming here again.

Conflicted with this review. The food is as good as it looks. The issue was being told the table BBQ was all you can eat, and with three of us, $81 for meat and rice wasnt unreasonable until I was told after the first plate that it wasnt all you can eat. $125 bill (tempura shrimp and an extra soup) was a bit much for what was shown in the picture. New pricing model needed.

I wish I could give this place 6 stars! We just went for the first time and got takeout, it was one of the best meals in my life! We got the shrimp yaki soba (with sweet sauce), the kimganae ramen with chicken, a serving of dumplings and a serving of spring rolls! Everything was so delicious and the spices werent overbearing it was so perfect. The spring rolls are so delicate and flakey. My father says The best asian cuisine Ive ever had and Im almost 53! The ramen noodles were so tender, and I even liked the shrimp and I usually dont like shrimp! Overall AMAZING meal and amazing service too! The employees are super nice and our order was ready in less than 10 minutes!!

I havent yet visited this establishment, but i have ordered the food on doordash and it was absolutely delish! Each plate was crafted with love and the flavor is absolutely amazing. My go to Korean BBQ spot from now on 100%!! I will edit my review when I make my first visit post pandemic on how the restaurant and service are! I cannot wait!

Ive been to a number of poor quality/gimmicky Korean BBQ restaurants- this is neither. We split a few starters which were all delicious (especially the kimchi pancake and miso soup) and then had the four person beef/pork BBQ platter. The meats and sauces were great quality. I do wish there were more vegetables to share but it was a wonderful meal. Ill definitely be back!

Excellent Korean food superbly presented (visited June 2019) During a stopover in Moncton we came across this restaurant by chance. The food was excellent and presented in a beautiful asian style. (I have traveled in asia). They had just opened only 5 days prior and already had a huge clientele arriving for supper. The service was incredible despite the delays in food preparations due to the volume, An example of food presentation is provided in the attached photo. Highly recommend for good and tasty food choices. We visited in mid-June.

Stopped here for some food after a morning of picking sunflowers and it was the perfect thing to get me ready for the rest of my day. I had the spicy pork bowl and it was delicious and fresh. The service is absolutely fantastic and they even have little bells on your table so that you can call over your server. Quite a nice little place for those who love Korean and Japanese food.

They deserve 5 star for customer service, but 0 for the Korean BBQ aspect. Compared to other places this was a horrible food selection for what you pay. We paid because the customer service was amazing, and left while the food was still cooking lol

Ordered through Skip The Dishes. Food came cold and 15 minutes late. Portion size is very small for the price. Will not order here again.

A bit pricey for their bbq. I expected to see variety of choices for their bbq combo. We ordered bbq good for 2, combo of pork and chicken but they dont have a combo for marinated meats. It would be better if they offer buffet or unli bbq.

Prime example of Korean BBQ done perfectly Kimchi was absolutely delicious, portions very reasonable, plating was done beautifully, this place is a masterpiece !

Offer two people s food combo for six people. We paid $140 for almost eat nothing.

Food taste is not bad; however, we sit and wait for 40mins and only take 20mins to eat, cuz the amount of food is POOR!!!! We paid 34$ before tax and still starving!!!!!!

So this is what I got for $17.50 and I m kind of surprised that they could find such tiny container for miso soup. You could get double or even triple amount at lower price at Sugarroll or Kim s Mart. Still giving a two star because the taste is fine. Don t bother to come unless you are having a kids party.

Wow! Great first time visit with my wife and daughter. All three of us loved the kimchi pancake appetizer, fantastic sushi, and my daughter loved the red bean ice cream. We will definately be back!

Excellent Korean BBQ. Lots of fun cooking the food. Really loved how the meat is slightly frozen in a role shape - made it easy to add it to the grill. Great service too. We will return.

Meal was delicious. The Beef Bulgogi was excellent. Dumplings and spring rolls crunchy and savory.

The good: Friendly staff, clean environment. Basically the only table BBQ option in 100 km. The bad: Prices were slightly above market. Table BBQ options were served frozen, portions were a bit small, even with ordering an extra one to split between the table. I might suggest ordering off the regular menu if youre not there explicitly for the table BBQ experience.

The Korean BBQ tasted like some really good home cooking will be going all the time very very good
