Bâton Rouge Grillhouse & Bar in Moncton

Sadly a very disappointing experience we had reserved more than 2 weeks ago for a birthday celebration. Seated upstairs very noisy and busy but loud. Did clear out quickly though. After being told 5 different times that the items we were ordering and reordering we out ! No protection no calamari no potatoes just crazy. 90 minutes before any food came to the table and items were incorrect all food that was served was cold undercooked and worse an allergy alert which had been clearly defined by the server to the kitchen caused a severe allergy attack and subsequent event the following day. Just a crazy experience. We have eaten at several locations and always great. Essentially two of us left with no food at at all. The positive the manager was very pleasant and was good to make allowances for this very sad experience.

We ve been 4 times so far and every time the service has been exceptional and the food and drinks great! No complaints here. Always a great time. Dietary restrictions: Gluten allergy

Magnificent place to relax, very good meal, excellent service. I recommend this place, and even with family you can go there, friendly atmosphere.

Wonderful experience all around. The waitstaff was more than willing to take the time to understand food allergies and accommodation for mobility. The food was delicious and truly comforting on a cold winters day. Dietary restrictions: We told the wait staff our allergies, and they went and spoke with the cooking staff who looked up ingredients and made us feel like we were not being a burden by asking. They were very understanding and offered suggestion to modify the meals.

I hate to have to leave this review but here she goes. It was my buddys birthday and we originally had reservations to the Keg. We cancelled our reservation and decided to go try Baton Rouge. This was our first mistake. The food was very disappointing and very much over priced. I ended up getting the ribeye cut (the pricier cut and dish on the menu) and was really disappointed with the taste, texture and cut of meat. The cut was thin and was unevenly cooked to medium rare and had zero taste. I ordered this with fries and veggies. The veggies tasted like they were frozen vegetables. ..very flavorless. The fries were also not appetizing at all. Food was atrocious for the price. My buddy ended up getting the ribs and was disappointed with the lack of flavor and dryness from the ribs. Overall, a poor experience. And I have to write the review to let others know that the Keg or Gusto is a better option.

This place is incredible! The manager was exceptionally kind, and the food was absolutely delicious. The portions were so generous that I couldn t even finish my meal. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I ll definitely be coming back this spot is an absolute must! Kid-friendliness: The staff is really friendly and attentive. Had a great first experience for supper. Food was great and our server Mylène was exceptional. Would highly recommend!!

The food was okay , but they need blinds, it was so hot and so bright, I had to squint the entire time, the sun was just pouring in with no shade at all. However, the absolute worst was the service, our server had no table side manner at all, she was quick, didnt speak clearly, and in the end we waited over 20 minutes for our bill.

We just came from having supper with our friends. The atmosphere is very nice. A good warm and upscale feel to it. The food was delicious and our waitress, Gladys, was smiling and friendly throughout our meal. A very satisfying and pleasant experience. Will definitely be going back.

Once we were seated, it took 20 minutes for the waitress to come over to take our drink order and give us our menus. I ordered the NY striploin with a smashed baked potato and my girlfriend order a full rack of ribs. The steak was very plain. Not much flavour and the smashed baked potato looked like it came from Denny s. Wasn t worth the extra money at all. The ribs were ok but also not much flavour. Overall it wasn t a great experience especially for the amount we spent.

Good vibes! Food & cocktails were great !!! Service was quick, professional and checked in on us regularly. I recommend the Ginny Hendricks cocktail.

I have to give a Koodo for Renee our waitress, great job, very friendly, she checked on us to make sure everything was ok. She is a person that cared if we liked it or not. She is a good representative for Baton Rouge. Thank you

Food was not good, ribs were almost burnt, dry. The waiters did not know the prices of anything, 2 different waiters came to take our order when we had just ordered lol.. pop was flat .. she came for the bill to make us pay when we were not even finished eating, small portions for the high price that it was.

Love this new restaurant! Steak is yummy, staff knowledgeable and friendly.

**Review: 2 Stars** **Reservation Experience & Seating:** We made a reservation days in advance for a group of six. Upon arriving at the restaurant, we were seated just about six feet from the entrance. This location was very close to the door, which meant a lot of foot traffic and cold wind coming inside as it was a chilly day. When we mentioned this to the hostess, we expressed that we weren t comfortable with the seating arrangement. She initially acknowledged the concern but didn t offer a solution. After waiting for 15 minutes without any updates, we asked again when the server brought water, but nothing was done to help. Eventually, we requested that the door be kept closed to prevent the cold air from coming in. Unfortunately, the staff didn t take any action, and I had to get up multiple times to close the door myself while eating. **Service:** The service left much to be desired. After we had been seated, we waited for more than an hour and a half before our food arrived. During this long wait, no one checked on us to see if we needed more drinks or any assistance. When the food finally arrived, we were disappointed with how we were treated. The server sighed multiple times and appeared visibly annoyed by our requests. It seemed like they were bothered by our presence, which made the experience even worse. **Food Quality:** When it comes to the food, the experience was equally disappointing. The ribs were cold and dry definitely not up to the standards we had expected. While the sauce was good, it couldn t save the dish. The seafood rosé pasta was also a letdown. Although the sauce was tasty, the noodles were dry and even burnt in some parts. Additionally, the plate was scalding hot, and we were never warned about the temperature. When we mentioned this to the staff, there was no apology or effort to make it right. **Overall Impression:** We left the restaurant feeling frustrated and underwhelmed. While we have had good experiences at Baton Rouge locations in Canada, this particular one in Moncton did not meet expectations. We felt that the service was inattentive and the food did not justify the price. If you re in Moncton, there are definitely better options at half the cost. This review is written with the hope that the restaurant can improve its service and food quality, as it has potential, but it fell short on this visit.

Went to check out Baton Rouge for the first time and it was amazing. Food was delicious, had Kiara as a server, and she killed it! Will be back!

Food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Speed of service was a bit slow and inconsistent, but they were incredibly busy so it felt reasonable.

Upon arriving, I was struck by how much the restaurant resembled an upscale St. Louis Bar and Grill. I couldn t help but wonder why have TVs in a steakhouse? It didn t fit the atmosphere I expected. The service was a bit too eager, but friendly. While this may be great for diners ready to order and eat, we were reuniting after months apart and wanted to take our time catching up. The drink menu was underwhelming. I didn t find any cocktails that caught my eye, so I asked if the bartender could make a Hugo Spritz. They agreed, but the result was just okay not memorable. Moving on to the meal, I ordered a 7 oz steak, which was disappointingly small about the size of my palm. The sauce that was supposed to accompany the steak was missing, and worse, the steak was overcooked. I requested medium, but it arrived nearly well-done. I also ordered a side Caesar salad but never received it. Eventually, they sent out a full-sized Caesar salad, but by then I had already sent back the steak and opted for the chicken dish, which looked great. Unfortunately, I never got the chicken either. I only tasted it because my friend shared some of theirs, which was good. The failure to bring my replacement dish was frustrating and seemed to stem from the supervisor s incompetence. After realizing I wouldn t be getting my main course, I decided to order dessert. The supervisor, who was in the middle of apologizing for the mix-up, handed me off to the server to take my order instead of handling it himself, which felt dismissive. In the end, despite having my meal and drink comped, I can t say I d return willingly. The experience wasn t compelling enough to give it another shot !

Delicious menu, the drinks and cocktails are stellar, with an amazing atmosphere. They have a very friendly & professional staff who are eager to help, educate & ensure customers have a fantastic time. They have vegan options, as well as gluten free & are always willing to accommodate to the guests needs. Giving the new Baton Rouge a visit is a must when visiting or if you live in Moncton!

I was here last night and it was phenomenal, service was friendly, restaurant was lively, and the food was delicious (especially the Tuna Salad I had ordered). 10/10 would recommend, and we will be back :)

Went last weekend because everyone is talking about this place and it didn t disappoint! We were greeted very nicely, food was all very good and served warm. Our server Gil was awesome, she was very nice, she s all smiles and gives such good vibes. She checked on us and she made our dinner more fun. I recommend and we will definitely go back again!

Didn t expect to experience such high quality service. I previously dined here with some friends and I must say that everything is superb. Be it food, the ambiance, atmosphere, the staff everything was perfect. They made our night very enjoyable and memorable. One of their servers, Gil was very accomodating and offered great service. She greeted us warmly, ensured that we are comfortable, and assisted us throughout our dining experience. I definitely recommend this place and will probably come back again!

Best new restaurant in the GMA! Perfect for date nights or just a casual eat out. Ambiance was great. Location is in the downtown area close to the night life. They have a parking, thats a plus for me. But most of all food was delicious, portions are huge and our server Gil was the best!! A must try if youre from Moncton or just visiting!

Took my parents to Batôn Rouge, and it didnt disappoint! From the delicious food to the excellent service, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The food was served warm and beautifully presented. The server Gil made sure we were good and had everything we needed, she was very friendly and had very bright personality. Very impressed with the service. Overall, we had an amazing time at Batôn Rouge, Im definitely looking forward to a 2nd visit:)

disappointed by the portion sizes for the price. Seafood pasta had 5 pieces of shrimp and 2 scallops. No muscles or anything else. Sorry for 35.00 was expecting more. It was ok flavor wise though. Nice place, great atmosphere.

The best part of our visit was our server Dhruv. He was attentive and very kind. The food was a thumbs down.. The Halloumi gnocchi was very bland, I feel as though I could ve made some thing more presentable, and flavourful in my own kitchen. We also ordered the Gratin garlic bread, which was just swimming and oil or butter and had no flavour or sign of garlic. This place is also very noisy. I did not see any noise cancelling panels anywhere perhaps that is some thing that they will change in the near future? all in all I would say five stars for service and maybe a one to two star for food and atmosphere. I do not think I will return.

Kinda dissapointed in the ribs. They were bone dry and mostly tasteless. Everything else was fine such as service, atmosphere, other plates on the table. Just those ribs, sorry no way Ill get those again.

Food is below average for the price i ordered the club sandwich it tasted like they washed the chicken with water and served it by putting slices of bread I also got some cocktails $16 dollars for a watered down smoothie with alcohol in all honesty I would rather go to McDonalds for a Big Mac meal the restaurant itself looks good tho so there s that

No one at our table was excited about the meals they had, our service what fine and the new restaurant was clean and well designed. I had the ribs and chicken(tender) combo, the ribs tasted like they are frozen thrown in hot water to heat up then have bbq sauce slathered on one side, and then served warm. The chicken ok the batter was desent. My partner had the burger, she said it was alright, but patty didnt seem like it was made fresh in house, it had a premade feel to it. Had to try it since it new in town, might try it again, but will never have those ribs again.

Idk what is the hype with such pricey menu at this place where I got served ribs straight from microwave I assume, not grilled anyside, bbq unevenly spread on only one side. Staff was with the attitude as if they have the best food in town ewww big disappointment.

Great service and attitude from our bartender and server. There was an issue with the availability of something my wife ordered and the server and front of house staff went above and beyond to make it right and ensure we had a good night.

I went with a group of 11, on top of having the world slowest service, my seafood linguine was bland, had 4 overcooked shrimp and 3 non fresh tasting scallops (not alot of seafood for the price) I also had to ask for salt and pepper because it was simply not good. And to add salt on the injury? There was a 18% up charge gratuity on our bill? Seriously this place is a joke, support a local places like brume du coude instead of a chain, saddest 160$ ever spent.

Went in for a different spot to eat. Welcomed by nice people and made sure they accommodated us, server Emilie was very good and polite. Spinach dip was cold, Ribs were cold but the chicken and potatoes hot. We were quickly comped our spinach dip without complaint .I know they are still ironing things out and as a business owner I understand.

I celebrated my birthday at Baton Rouge, and unfortunately, it didnt meet my expectations. The bill of $381 felt overpriced for the experience. Service was slow considering that was not busy at all and disorganized, with four different servers bringing food but no one clearing dirty plates. The food was disappointing cold steak, bland octopus, and unseasoned vegetables. The sides were also served cold, which was underwhelming for the price. On a positive note, the cocktails were excellent. However, the overall experience was marred by poor service and mediocre food. I left feeling disappointed and unlikely to return.

One of the worst place to eat ! First thing we did was ordered drinks appetizer came and was finish before any drinks came finally the drinks came almost at the same time as the main courses....The mac and cheese was horrible the chicken was so dry that someone would chocked eating it , the steak and fries was cold and not good,,,Ive never seen the person i was with not finish a steak or complain except this time, to top of everything as the waitress was making her way to the table to ask how was everything? I was pulling a hair out of my mouth that was in my rice. It only cost us $100 that was the deal. If I was the manager the bill would have been $0 I would have gave a voucher for next time to make sure not to loose a customer. Overall I would rate this below one star. The manager came to talk with us i explained everything he was nice and pleasant to speak with however, I think he needs more time on the floor dealing with customers , the priority for the manager is the customers everything else is second... Im really disappointed, I dont know if ill be going a second time !!!

We went there for a supper a few girlfriends on Friday. Our experience started off very good, very friendly waitress. We ordered a bottle of wine pinot grigio. We asked for a 2nd bottle of wine and was told they had no more of the pinot grigio we were drinking, however they had ONE other option for pinot grigio that was 20$ more and was told we could get it at the same price. After that, we get another waitress come deliver our bottle of wine and said we had to pay full price. We could get Moscato if we wanted something cheaper? .. it was not about the price, however I went to plenty of restaurants in the past and if they ran out of the drink we were honored the price of the original one we bought. Its a Friday night, very busy.. how is there no stock? Also, food was ok. Ordered the Burrata that on the menu said was glazed with balsamic vinegar, there was none on it. Ordered a steak, medium and it was well done. a little disappointed with our experience.

I was there for there second night of opening, The food was great, good vibe in the restaurant, very busy, our server at the bar did an amazing cocktail and the prime rib was nothing I had before ! So tender !!! Will be back ! Food : 5/5

We came here for the first time last night and were very impressed! All around a wonderful night. We were served by Gille? Not sure if its spelled right but she did an amazing job! She is an asset to this restaurant! Thanks and we will be back for sure.

Good food, nice vibe, disappointing service. I was greeted and seated by a friendly hostess. After waiting 14 minutes, I went back to see her to see if I had a server assigned. A gentleman came over quickly and got us drinks, he was joined by our server who immediately took our orders. The food was prepared as requested and was quite good. I did enjoy the meal, but did not love the fries. They were decent enough, just personal preference. They use skinny fries that are mostly 1-2 cm and I like bigger fries. Again, just preference, but next time I would get a different side. We didnt see our server again and I had to go to the bar for a water refill. This is unacceptable to me. I only saw my server again when it was time for the bill. I would dine here again but I would want a different server.

Was excited to try, but ultimately wasn t great. it was very expensive for what was served, the sauces are incredibly sweet, and the garlic bread was so oily and salty my 13 year old wouldn t eat it. The ribs were overcooked and drenched with a sauce so sweet you can t taste any smoked flavour. The server also forgot part of our order and wasn t very familiar with the menu. On the upside the Key lime pie was nice.

I am not one to complain but I got the smoked salmon salad with extra goat cheese and it was bland and tasteless and there was hardly any goat cheese and I was charged $4 for extra goat cheese. I mentioned my dissatisfaction to our waitress and her reply was oh great! Picked up my plate with a smile and walked away. $35 plus HST for a meal I didn t eat. I won t be back.

We stopped in (not being from Moncton) for a quick coffee and dessert. The greeter was great and said we can come right in (packed house) to sit at the bar. We ordered and had it in 5 minutes. Dessert was delicious, coffee was fresh and our server Emily was great. Highly recommend!
