Jungle Jim's Eatery in Moncton

While I ve never actually felt the need to post a negative review before, i am now. I had went here for a date night and while the restaurant was empty, it took us almost 10 minutes to get sat down because they kept walking past us. Whatever, didn t think much about it. We sat down, the waitress asked us what we want after 20 seconds of sitting, we gave a starter and it took her another 20 minutes to come back for our food order. Once again, whatever. We had the chicken taquitos to start, there was almost no chicken or filling at all and it had clearly been cooked in bad oil, once again we said whatever but we should have left at this point. We each had got burgers, my partner had the pork burger but it was absolute mush and smelt horrible. It even made his hand smell, he took a bite and was unable to eat it. I had the canadian burger which was soggy and smelt horrible, and once again not edible!! Our waitress had come back once during this time and it was right after we got the food, at this point we had each taken a bite of a fry and asked us about dessert and never came back. Once we realized we weren t getting any more service, we had decided to go up and talk to our waitress about it and once my partner had said it was not good, she interrupted him and said how Would you like to pay I told her I wasn t coming up here to Pay, i just wanted to talk to her about the food and she ignored us and had us pay. She gave me a 10% discount which took off maybe $4 but we just wanted some better food or something. Whatever, we paid but then got sick about an hour later. We had called back and tried talking to the manager and she told us it was out fault but she d take my number and name and i could come back tomorrow and we would solve it and hung up. I called the next day making sure It was okay That i could come in and a lovely older women was the only one there, which they intended to make her deal with it. She told us when we could come back in, and we did and once again the waitress we had (which was actually the manager) kept blaming us and then said we could have a $10 coupon thats valid next month!? Horrible service, horrible food and not worth the money at all :(

We went for supper on labor day, no one else in the place except for two employees. We ordered and got our meals however there were no napkins or silverware on the table. We proceeded to eat our meal without utensils since luckily we had meals that we were able to do that with even though it was a bit messy. No one came to the check on us until we were literally three bites from being done. We asked for napkins then and got them but it never seemed to register to the waitress that we had gone without the whole time. Along with her calling my girlfriend boring when we ordered drinks it made for a lousy experience which I wouldnt recommend to anyone.

This business has been destroyed by new owners. The food is worse then you could imagine. Hard burger buns, cold onion rings cooked in dirty black oil. Beef burger completely unedible. Chicken burger deep fried all to hell, hard and disgusting dirty black oil taste. Been coming here for years. Its been a few months since i was here last. The old owner had high expectations for the food and it showed. Over 4 years weve been coming here and never, ever a single issue. I bragged to people about the food and recommended it as the best J.Js Ive ever seen for food quality. This new owner and cooks.. you are going to kill someone. I left there 20 minutes ago and Ive been glued to the toilet since i raced home. If you continue running this business into the ground youll be out of business in a year.

Infamous location, service and cuisine! To flee!! Two dumb waitresses for only three tables with customers. The old lady got the wrong dishes several times. The dishes all arrived separately and were almost thrown on the table. No placemats or utensils provided. Need to go to the kitchen OURSELVES to get our sauces! The plate of fried chicken was simply awful, the cheese on the burger inedible and hard as a rock! Frozen sweet potato fries and pasta salad without dressing! The famous 46 oz cocktail was a maximum of 30 oz! Theft!!!

we had TERRIBLE service the other night. Old lady and Old man working did not want to work. constantly complained about their workload and understaffed kitchen. lady was rly innapropriate, sat on the booth next to my 14 year old son while taking our order. so disgusting. I ordered a draft of coors light, when I wanted a refill no one was anywhere to be found so I made my way to the bar and stood there. this upset the workers (i dont care) who proceeded to Bless me with a free beer. upon taking a sip i realized immediately it was NOT coors light. i told the lady and she said well its free and we are probably out of coors light on the tap. i dont care if its free, i would have paid to have the beer I wanted. watched another customer be served coorslight (it was not out) Left the full beer behind. sad that I was treated this way in front of my young children. we will NOT be back!!!!!!!!! respect and integrity goes such a long way, the staff here have NEITHER. OH and the lettuce on my kids burger was black and molded. unacceptable. i will add a photo when I find it

I was staying the night in Moncton and me and my daughter decided to have dinner at Jungle jims. The worker Eddie is so kind, SUPERB!! He was our server and he was fantastic. Out of this world service. Thank you Eddie for great experience. Give him a raise. He deserves it. 5 stars

There was an old woman who was angry because she was doing her third double shift this week or something, either way she was working alone and mad at the restaurant so gave us free drinks

Probably the best restaurant experience Ive ever had during my time in New Brunswick! The team at Jungle Jims Eatery welcomed me in and provided service like no other - I truly enjoyed every second of dining here. The food is delicious and the drinks even more so! Will definitely be bringing friends and family here soon.

Worst food I had ever eaten never going there again. My kids food was over cooked and my food was just horrible it is way over priced and the place doesn t feel clean. The fish tanks are literally green don t look. Like they ever been Cleaned. Food

Arrived to just one server working in the whole restaurant, and she was very nice and friendly. We didnt have our order taken or asked about drinks for almost 25 minutes. After placing our order we waited almost 1 hour and 30 minutes to get our food and by that time the restaurant was almost closed. The ribs and burger were good but the fries were overcooked and somewhat burnt. Ive been going to Jungle Jims for most of my life and its always been great but this time was the opposite. Overall it seems management needs to do a much better job hiring employees and running the business.

The food took too long and it was not busy at all. We only got drinks after sitting for 30 minutes. Food finally came after 1hr and it was mediocre.

No more all you can eat wing night anymore. Ordered a jungle poutine. It was a child portion. The plate was hotter then the food .

Amazing chipotle burger. My kids liked their burgers. Hand-cut fries. Good waitress. No toys for the kids. No lids for their drinks. Glad we dropped by but it is missing some things the Newfoundland location have, like toys and lids.

Jeremy is an excellent server

1.5hrs to prepare the food, it was Disgusting. Cold, Soggy & Minimal Condiments for the portion of terriable food, not at all as advertised. My dog wouldnt even eat it (for real). Threw it in the garbage! Please people dont waste your hard earned $$ here. Not to mention, it was my once a week treat, Very Disappointing. Your Cook should be ashamed to put out such poor quality and slapped together food, using the term food lightly, as I wouldnt even call it that. Total Garbage.

Sunday night, I went to supper with a friend. Our waiter Jeremy is the kindest, funniest and best server I ve ever had. He makes the visit amazing, and he is amazing. I ve said it once and I ll say it again: Jeremy is the best waiter I ve ever had. He brings a light to the table and I will definitely be coming back just to have him as a waiter again.

My boyfriend and I went to this establishment as we were in the area and were blown away by the service, overall environment and the quality of the food. Our server was Eddy and he was fabulous. from the second we walked in the door to the second we left his kind and vastly cultured conversation was present. He even shared some relationship advice with us. Our food was top of the line quality and we both even went as far as to say those were the best burgers we had ever had. Our food came out very quickly and was perfect. We have both decided to make this our new date night restraint and look very forward to seeing Eddy in the future.

Good food, understaffed

The food was very good. We were four young kids and 2 adults and we were confortably seated in a booth. The atmosphere was pretty chill so the kids had a good time and so fid we. Definately worth it

Excellent service. Server was exceptional. Chicken Fahitas were delicious, however the rice was so spicy that I couldnt eat it.

I always love Jungle Jims food. Food wise is always a good experience, and the service is normally very friendly. My reason for 3 stars is based on my experience last night. Me and my mother decided to have supper together. We arrived at 8pm. The second we sat down the waitress was asking what we wanted for drinks . Unusual for someone to ask the second we sit down, but that was fine and we told her. She was very friendly. We got our food around 8:30-8:40 ish. It was obvious the staff had wanted to go home the second the clock hit 9pm. Staff was scrabbling around pulling the blinds down in the window, announced shortly after we got our food that it was last call for dessert, and mopped the floor beside our table while we are trying to eat. I know they were trying to clean up for the evening, but me nor my mom exactly like to smell strong floor cleaner while eating our supper. We were rushed. So rushed. Id understand being rushed if we showed up at 8:30, but we sat down at 8. We had an entire hour to sit down and eat. The atmosphere was not enjoyable, which was really disappointing. The staff was very lovely, but to me it felt like professionalism went out the window the last hour before closing. If the staff wants to be out the door right at 9pm then perhaps Jungle Jims should change the hours to 8 or 8:30 to be opened for the public. To sum up Jungle Jims has really awesome food, Ive meet the owner hes a super nice guy, staff is lovely. But if you want to have an enjoyable experience at this location maybe show up no later then 7pm.

All I can remember is that everything was sticky. The table, the floor, the menu, even the cash register area. The food was good though.

Excellent server , in fact we noted all the staff seemed to excel in customer, food was only mediocre this visit but usually not dissatisfied there either.

Ordered food took an hour and a half they have no soft drinks. Not only that they messed up everyones order half of the fries were dropped on the way here.

Went in 6:30pm on a Friday night only one other table had people at it. It was a 35 degree day and the place has no air conditioning just ceiling fans. Asked what beer they had available in bottle only had 2 kinds left out of the 10 on the menu. Doesn t seem like a great spot for a Friday evening when lots of events are going on in the city. Food was okay but hot food in an extremely hot building just makes a person not want to eat.

Food was atrocious. Poutine tasted disgusting and the linguine did not taste right at all. The bathroom sink barely had anything in it for 20$ one mozzarella stick, one fried pickle, two wings and fries. Probably won t be returning again.

We took our 9 year old niece and 11 year old nephew. She had the kids Mac and cheese, he had the burger, we had chicken fajitas and a seafood platter. We all enjoyed our meals. The staff were absolutely wonderful and engaging. The food was served hot, in a short amount of time. Would definitely eat here again.

Our server at this restaurant, Mandy is likely the best server we have ever had. She was absolutely fantastic. She is a true asset the restaurant. If I could give her a higher review than 5 stars I would. She was delightful, very efficient and super friendly. The food is standard pub food and the prices were right in line with other places.

There was 5 of us. We drove 4.5 hours to moncton, did the water park, wanted kids to eat good before we left again. Picked a spot. We were told they were busy before we sat down. Thats fine. They brought me pasta with absolutely no flavor. Fajitas didnt not have enough fillings (fill yourself at table ) and veggies and meat were burnt. One burger was brought with no side and the burger was forgotten about. When they did bring it.. couldnt be eaten as the amount of fat dripping from it. The other burger(same kind) was delicious. and the chicken burger was and looked delicious. Even the waitress was complaining about the kitchen. It wasnt a great experience. And for 120.00 meal. Was not great. Wont go back.

We have been here to eat many times over the years, but I honestly don t think we will ever be back. The food was so greasy we could barely eat it. The waitress was fine, but I couldn t even hear what she was saying as she didn t speak up (I don t have hearing issues, she was just mumbling). Normally, when we pay $40 for an app platter, you get a lot of food. There was very little in this. Their drink menu was also out of date. There was cobwebs on the bamboo over the tables where you eat. There was also no little toy chest for the children as advertised on their menu. My stomach feels rotten and we just barely left. Less than impressed.

Kumar is so incredibly nice. I will definitely return just because of him.

Great Place to eat, commonly my Steak is cooked just like I asked. Hubby loves the Chipotle Nachos The only thing we notice is that they seem to not have enough persons working the tables, poor Waitress/Waiters are always rushed and looking tired. Feel for them during the busier hours.

My boyfriend and I ate here last night, our server Mandy was fantastic. She was a wonderfully polite character and brought a lot of charm to the table. I will comment that it seemed she was serving too many tables and perhaps there was a staffing issue on managements end. The food was good! I recommended the curly fries and the Chipotle burger, nice greasy finger food Lots of children! So dont be surprised if there are some funny jokes you hear while youre dining. Without Mandy I think the night wouldve gone a lot worse, she was obviously very hard working. Parking: The parking lot isnt the easiest to find! Kid-friendliness: Lots of families! Really cute atmosphere. if you dont mind it, its enjoyable.

This was the worst experience ever!! My partners birthday was ruined by the facility.( Womans toilet overflowing smelled worse than a porta potty at a concert!!) Server didnt care after we informed him. Actually emailed the NB Health and safety for a inspection. Extremely dissatisfied and would not serve my bf a drink his Id expired that day !! And told me he would take mine if I SHARED Totally Do Not eat here I beg you ...

Jungle Jims is definitely a throw back kind of place to go. We go about twice a year. Honestly, Im not sure why.... the service is good as we didnt have to ask for top ups on our soda and the server was helpful with explaining the menu and helping me chose. The food is average at best. It was wing night so my son got an order with sweet chili sauce, but they were swimming in a pool of it. My other son had fish and chips. The fish was a very small portion and did have a more than normal fishy smell. I had the steak sub. It was good... . For 3 people to have a meal, 3 sodas and no apps, the bill came to $71, plus tip. Not the bang for your buck!! Might be a while before going back but normally wing night is pretty good. Just mention sauce on the side maybe.....

The food was excellent and the service was also excellent. I gave 3 stars because the prices are high compared to the type of food and setting. You can get an equally good meal for cheaper or a fancyer meal for the same price.

Fantastic service from Jeremy! Ordered veggie stir fry on rice and chicken nachos. Delicious Wonderful atmosphere. Fun decor with aquariums full of fish and bright colors everywhere. Great place to sit with a friend and chat in a booth, or seating for large crowds. Great space for adults and families with children. Highly recommend. Vegetarian options: Great options for vegetarian or vegan choices! Parking: Lots off easy parking just steps from the front door! Kid-friendliness: Great space with aquariums, highchairs, fun decor and easy to clean floors for those food droppers!

The second we got in the restaurant, Eddie made us feel at home. He made the dining experience very pleasant and knows how to entertain the kids (and mom), making it very memorable. The food was also very good, thank you for the kitchen sink, maybe next time we ll get a monkey wrench thrown in . Either that or a screwdriver :)

First time here. And were seated right away, the waiter was very good and very talkative. He made us feel comfortable right away. He was very good with the 3 small children we had with us. Drinks were served quickly and our orders were placed. The food arrived after a very short wait no more then 15mins. The food was very good nice and hot no issues with anything. After everything was done the server asked if the children would like a small bowl of ice cream which went over very well with them. Overall it was a very good experience. I was quite happy with the service. 4 stars for the first visit lets see if it goes to 5 stars the next visit. I definatley would recommend this establishment.

Came here for the second time in the past 2 weeks, both times we had Jeremy as our waiter! Service was amazing! We overheard this waiter in the back he was having a bad day however you could never tell! Every time he was at our table he had a smile on and never let it affect his service! The food was amazing however the service is what made us want to come back.

We loved the place, it has very good decoration, the waiter Jeremy is spectacular, the food is super delicious, the portions are very large. My son and I are continuing our dining Adventures. This time we visited Jungle Jims! Walking in we noticed a big Aquarium with big fishes in it. Not the fancy look we have beautiful fishes but more like a Were an old zoo!, but I guess thats the entire theme. The whole place is amusing yet cheesy. It definitely has the feel of a jungle. Personally, I kind of liked it but this gives you an idea of what youre walking into. We were greeted very quickly and brought to our booth, menus were handed out and small chatter was made, it was all very friendly. So my son and I decided to share a starter which consisted of alligator skins, taquitos, and onion rings. My son ordered a lemonade and I ordered a diet pop. The food was brought to us fairly quickly by who I would guess would be the chef. He was extremely friendly and served us with a nice smile. I was surprised by the onion rings, I mean theyre just onion rings but... extremely crispy exterior shell with a hot and soft interior and a nice caramelized onion. These onion rings were some of the best I had ever had. I tried dipping them in the Chipotle mayo and a kind of sweet salsa that was also served with the meal and all of it was just absolutely delish. The only criticism is it might have been a little heavy on the greasy side but its fried food, what do you want. The alligator skins (Potato skins) were somewhat soft but they were loaded with cheese and chives, and were also very tasty. Finally, the taquitos, these were my sons absolute favorites. He tried to steal one off me and thought I wouldnt notice, of course I let him have it. All of it was great. No of course this isnt fine dining, this is all Pub grub and were rating it as such. So as far as Pub grub is concerned, its pretty friggin decent. It was an absolutely great experience, a fun adventure... and my son insists I give this place four stars! Done.

The restaurant drastically needs a facelift. Floor dirty. We had to ask the server to change our utensils as they were dirty. Couldn t get coffee or tea as they had no hot water. Server was quite nice. Still waiting for our food hopefully safe and tasty .

Came with a couple we know from Toronto. The service wasnt bad for the exception that Im pretty sure pur waiter was baked. Lol wich isnt a issue with me but the fact she couldnt barely remember anything it was annoying. We got our food my wife got fries instead of rice. And the other girl ordered the jungle salad and got a Greek. When we said it was wrong they said it wasnt lol. Then when they realized we where right, they replaced her salaf with some mushrooms and broccoli on top of the old sald with the same chicken wich was suppose to be a different flavor lol. Anyways I would have enjoyed my grade 6 lunch more then I did this. Lol. Enjoy!

The food was awful tonight. We got take out and everything looked like it was just thrown into the containers. We got home which is only 5 minutes away and our food was completely cold. I got the big splash. My shrimp were the wrong kind. My fish was litterly maybe an ounce.. My bacon wrapped scallops looked like reheated dry hockey pucks. And litterly a handful of fries... And that was just my part of the order!! Not worth $10 let alone the $28 they charge!! We will not be back!

I cant even explain how ridiculous the service and server were definitely on something when youre taking drink orders 2-3 times and coming back with 1 drink then asking what the table wants again?? When questioned about this the server got aggressive and unco-operative to the point our table of 11 people left taking our business elsewhere Im not even angry just confused tbh good luck to the owner where I come from youd be out if business yesterday

Only reason for giving 1 star was because the poor waitress was awesome. Do Not serve your customers raw food and try to pass the blame on the waitress who has nothing to do with cooking it...Not cool. I have eaten at Jungle Jims throughout the Maritimes and this was the worst experience Ever!!!

Our family has eaten here many times. Food is always good, service is amazing. Even when they seem short staffed, the food is hot. The staff have always made sure that all their customers feel welcome.

Good food quick service. Jeremy is literally the best waiter in Moncton and even New-Brunswick. So so so friendly and endearing. Can t wait to go back just to be served by him.

Okay to start the food was great, the whole place was a great calm vibe of families and friends talking and laughing overall a cute little spot. But to make it absolutely #1 for being an amazing place and deserving of 5 stars goes to the waiter Jeremy, he was helpful with decisions talked like a good friend you ve never met and was beyond hilarious, honestly fell in love with the place and him and will most definitely think of coming again more often

Amazing food and great experience

Jungle Jims is nothing short of awesome. The staff are always friendly and show interest. My wife and I are regulars. Personally, I cant get enough of the steak. For the price, Its one of the best! Thank you for your amazing service

I always liked there food but this time I wasnt impressed at all ,I ordered fish and chips and I got 2 small pieces of fish and to many fries .very little of coleslaw on side !

Microwaved food, small portions and not very good.

Good food at a good price with friendly staff, went last night around 8 and not only was the food brought to our table super quick but it was some of the best food Ive gotten at a restaurant in a while

Had take out for supper. The food was probably microwaved from the look and taste of it. Spinach artichoke dip was bland and very small serving compared to other restaurants we have been in. Nice staff but I would not order food from there again!

We have been to Jungle Jims several times and it never disappoints. Our server (I didnt catch his name and Im upset at myself for that) is always so friendly and makes the experience enjoyable. We watched him interact with other patrons like they were friends. I cant tell you how refreshing it is to see that level of kindness and professionalism; especially with the way the world is now. The food is always incredible but what made this experience exceptional, was the service. So, Thank you Mr. Newfoundland, you made our day:)

I had Fish and chips, it was amazing, but the best part in this place is the staff, it feels like family, good portions as well. It a must to try in Moncton

Wrong drinks were given to us and took several times asking to get the proper one (at least 10 minutes later). After finishing ordering, our nacho appetizers were given to us wrong 3 times. Decided to walk out after the 3rd time, Manager had to be called in and showed up because we refused to pay for their large super bowl typed drink because it was barely drank from after waiting for the nachos the entire time. Usually never had issues, maybe today was just an off day for the staff? One of the waitresses was seemingly putting the blame on another that wasnt even doing anything for our table stating she only started a week ago. Will update upon next visit if applicable.

Eddie the waiter is always super friendly and always on top of everything. Great atmosphere and excellent service. Great lunch specials!
