418 Portland St, Mong Kok, Hong Kong
Lobster was bit disappoint with the vermicelli super deep fried that makes it dryer for my taste. Beef and vegetables were great, crab is okay. Overall bit pricy but the enclosed space and walls make it way too loud. Had 2 loud tables the my ears were ringing when I left, servers could’ve moved us into plenty of space inside. No longer hard to book nowadays
The smallest dishes I ever had! The sweet and sour pork ribs costs $198 but less than 10pcs of meat. Then when we want a fried rice, the waitress suggested us not to order as kitchen is way too busy, it is really interesting to hear that at 7:30pm in a restaurant. All the food comes in half portion of the usual size and service doesn’t exist at all. NOT RECOMMENDED
Great experience. We preordered 2 pigeons and half a salt baked chicken for five adults. Pigeon was delicious. The best meat dish I had that night. Salt baked chicken was a bit chewy but I’m guessing that’s the appeal? Sweet and sour pork. There’s an option of frozen and fresh. We got frozen. Tasted good with a good crunchy crispy exterior, however the sauce was extremely starchy. Fried rice (off menu) was with pork shoulder, cuttlefish and veg. Enjoyable! To end, we had steamed egg, we were told the chef overcooked the first one so it only came towards the end. Clams were a bit sandy and foul smelling but the egg was very jiggly and delicious. Would probably come back and try again. Not sure if it’s worth crossing the harbour though.
Enjoyed myself with the food here. The steamed soon hock with bean sauce豆酥 is a dish I always loved when I had my first taste at the now defunct湘園 Charming Garden in Singapore. I enjoyed the prawn pan fried with supreme soy sauce as well as the squid cake? I found the clam soup just above average. Service is passable but not as bad as Ju Xing in Singapore.
I had to come here and see what the hype is about. Quite surprised that booking is not required during lunch hours and the restaurant is quite empty you can easily walk in for a meal. I had to try their signature lobster with fried rice vermicelli. It was quite expensive but I think its quite worth the price considering the meat given is almost one whole lobster and the meat is so tender and succulent. Also ordered the beef and the fried tofu. Seriously I asked for a smaller portion but seems like the size is pretty standard. For 2 people 3 dishes really seem a lot and we couldn't finish the food. I had ordered a sweet sour pork initially and had to cancel the order. Luckily the chef hasn't prepared the dish else we would even have to finish it. Food is good and flavourful and definitely my kind of food. Its worth a try but do note the price will be expensive. Also note that 1 dish can have different prices, for example like the sweet sour pork, initially I was asked if I wanted fresh or frozen pork because there is a price difference.
Best sweet and sour pork I ever had! Roast pigeon and other dishes were good too! Highly recommended.
Love, love, love the food in this place. Surprised that it didn't score at least a 4 on Google Map. We almost wanted to give it a miss. I'm giving it a 5! It was probably the best food we had in HK on this trip. Must order the sizzling hot pot with the greens, the deep fried quail and the salt baked chicken. Maybe the one dish I didn't quite get was the shellfish in the toufu. But so good, so satisfying. We arrived at an odd time for lunch, about 2pm. Surprised they were still serving and happily cooked for us. The tables were being set for dinner and all we're reserved. So if u want to come at regular meal times, the staff strongly suggest making reservations. The restaurant is coming to Singapore but I suspect the price will be much higher.
A super busy & popular restaurant after they have been listed as one of the Michelin Bib Gourmand recommended restaurants. It’s a super noisy restaurant that you may need to shout out while dining. It’s well packed with eager or regular diners. This was our another visit and we had fun and tasty food although they are mostly overly salted or a bit greasy. Service: 3.5/5 Food flavor/ingredients: 3.5/5 Price value: 4/5 Repeat: likely
First time there, food ok but a bit pricey, fish is expensive, no idea about other seafood.
A friend chose this Chinese restaurant for dinner on his birthday. The environment inside was quite nice and the seats were a bit cramped. So we chose the following foods. Salt and pepper nine-belly fish: crispy, slightly spicy, and very tasty! Vietnamese cuttlefish cake: crispy, with cuttlefish particles inside, rich texture and rich cuttlefish aroma. Fresh salt-baked chicken: salty, tender and tender. Blanched hand-cut beef: rich in beef flavor and chewy. Braised Crispy Pigeon: The skin is thin and crispy, the meat is juicy and tender, and it is delicious and delicious! Pan-fried shrimps in soy sauce: refreshing and spicy, but quite salty. Sixty-year-old steamed egg: The sixty-year-old steamed egg is fresh and sweet, and the steamed egg is tender and smooth. Pickled fish: The fish meat is sweet and tender, and the soup base is not sour or spicy enough. It is relatively light and has an average taste. The overall food quality is good and the service attitude of the store staff is good. We are all very satisfied with our food and will come back next time. Very small portion bland I don t think MSG is used
Juxingjia on Portland Street is really bad. One dish is served every hour, and even the steamed fish is not cooked properly. The experience is really bad! It s not easy for everyone to come here in the future!
Its really delicious no matter what you eat. Since the portions are large, we recommend coming in a group. Its a popular restaurant, so reservations are essential!
Really good food here. Every dish was amazing.
The side dishes are of good quality and the transportation is convenient
Super delicious meal. We enjoyed ourselves. Thank you for the experience.
Everything was delicious. I didn t get MSG poisoning after eating. Xiaogui and the place were very noisy.
Traditional Cantonese dishes, expertly prepared.
Eat them all
The location is conveniently located, just a five-minute walk from Prince Edward Metro Station. Authentic Cantonese food, the quality is generally acceptable, but the price is a bit expensive.
Very expensive, very slow delivery, unpleasant meal
The taste is okay, but the delivery speed is slow Price is high
The food was served very slowly. After ordering five dishes, it took a full two minutes to finish them. I had to rush the last one. And it s very expensive! Highly not recommended.
The CP value is very low, almost all of them are quick-fried dishes, but only four dishes are served in an hour and a half, and the last dish is served only after a reminder... It tastes good but very salty, and the wait is enough to fill you up.
Simple and delicious
The product does not have much smell and is acceptable
The food was yummy, we ordered many dai pai dong style food with beers. All were nice. However, the service was super poor. We preordered chicken, and confirmed by staff quite a lot of time. At the end we waited for long and a staff (probably female boss) blamed us not to clearly confirm the preorder. In short, no matter how good the food was, we had bad experience in the meal.
Eat fried rice noodles and lobster again Zhong Series is equally delicious Other food continues to maintain a high standard Very unique & high quality local delicacy food
I think this name will complement him a lot - fu flavor. When I went there a year or two ago, I thought the food was very delicious. The price is much more expensive than ordinary small restaurants, but the food tastes very good, so I think its worth the money. I went back two days earlier and found that the portion size had shrunk significantly. The taste is very different. All are salty. This dish of king prawns in soy sauce, which I once thought was the most delicious in Hong Kong, cost $2xx. I was stunned when it was served. I got 6 shrimps the size of fingers and with developmental disabilities? Um...it doesnt matter, the taste can be remedied. You know, the rich and sweet taste of soy sauce is not there anymore. Got a salty character. Salt and pepper squid is also a small dish. The two women ate 6xx and ordered three noodles and one fried noodles. The result is that he is not full. I am puzzled by the chronic overflow. Is it because I am not lucky and others have taste problems? Or do you come here because of your fame and fall for it?
The environment is noisy
Overpriced
Food was pricey, and portions were little. It was a ripped off! Food
Just looking at the facade, I thought it only served dumplings and chicken with squid, but you will definitely be pleasantly surprised when you go in and sit down. There are many choices of pizza, including risotto and steak, but if you want to eat ordinary tea restaurant fried noodles and fried rice, you won t find them!
Lunchtime is actually a great time to come, less busy and food still great
Some dishes are rarely available The taste is very good Not many people today feels good
Food was awesome as always much better than the branch in Singapore.
There are not many people at noon on weekdays, so it is quite comfortable. There are not many dishes, the products are on the salty side, and the prices are very high.
The food is nice but it is a little over priced for its location and vibe.
Good meal
Delicious and wok-like
The must-try dishes are roasted squab, boiled beef, steamed eggs with sixty-year-old eggs, crispy rice noodles with bamboo shrimps, and bamboo shoots soaked in oil. Everything is very good. Thank you, Brother Qiao!
The food was delicious, but there were not many people inside the store, so it took an hour and a half for all eight dishes to be served.
Food good but wait times are abit too far and everyone is busy. They try but not managing well. Prices are steep too.
The products are full of Hong Kong flavor
Delicious food
Amazing dishes. It definitely deserves a much higher rating!
Have to advance booking if you are going during dinner time.. Food is tasty for the dishes I ordered. Roast pigeon must try...
Two words to speak of, average
A hidden gem located at Portland Street behind Nathan Road in Mongkok, 50m away from Exit D of Prince Edward Station. Great foods (my favorites are roasted pigeons, fried oysters, steamed fish, salted chicken) and services with no 10% service charges added on. For those who enjoy having pigeons for lunch, please book ahead as roasted pigeons are normally available after 3 pm.
So so taste, skipped dished, fast food shop level of taste. Not worth at this price level. Only advantage is guaranteed seat.
The restaurant was so noisy that it was demolished, and there was no way to tell the difference. The food was served extremely slowly. Only three of the four dishes came out in 90 minutes! More than a dozen diners from other Taiwanese restaurants waited for more than an hour and the last dish was not served. Is the kitchen boss sleeping? The situation on the floor turned upside down!
Food quality is directly proportional to price
The food was amazing, really authentic and good quality and value. I ll be back!
Waited more than 1.5 hours for 3 takeaway dishes. Waitress called us to pickup our food but we ended up waiting for another 30 minutes. The staff obviously did not prioritize our orders as we are tourists and speak very limited Cantonese.
There are many dishes and they taste delicious! But the price is expensive
Expensive, nothing special, delicious
Recommended by a friend, I have eaten here three times. My favorites are king prawns in soy sauce, oil-soaked fish with shells, and stir-fried raw bones! Remember to make a reservation first!
Convenient place for Chinese food, comfortable seating
Food was excellent Service was great.
The price is slightly expensive
Gritty place serving the best casual Cantonese stir fry! Steam fish with sichuan peppercorn, steam egg with clams, soy sauce fried thin noodle and sweat and sour pork are to die for.
The food is slow to start, expensive, and not worth the price. I sat down and ordered two dishes. It took more than an hour to arrive. The food was not particularly delicious. ! ! !
The price is on the high side, the taste is mediocre, the meal I ordered was cooked wrong and hard, the most unpleasant meal I had in Hong Kong, the CP value is very low, I don t recommend it.
Eat well
Michelin recommendation Special dishes Fresh ingredients
$498 gives me the quality. So disappointed Fish are not tied into strips. Only meat. Boneless, headless and tailless Makes me suspect its frozen fish
Small restaurant, most of the food is good
One dish can be served every fifteen to twenty minutes There may not be a next time
Overrated & over priced. The taste of the dishes are okay, but it is pricey.
The razer clam with crispy rice noodle is unique in that its thin and extra crunchy.
The food is full of flavor, hot and very delicious Only the seats are a bit cramped and the tilt clock is a bit noisy
Great food and delicious, highly recommended
Drill
Also recommended here
A place where famous chefs gather for late-night snacks. The quality of the food is slightly higher than that of ordinary food stalls, but the prices are higher.
The food is good, the service is better than expected, and the atmosphere is okay
very good food
Last night was my first visit. I heard that it was recommended by Michelin. I thought there was some guarantee, but I was so disappointed! I ordered the recommended salt-baked chicken, which was actually just ordinary salted chicken, definitely not salt-baked chicken, as it was overcooked. I also ordered a casserole fried rice, which was dripping with oil! As for the raw stir-fried bones and salt and pepper fresh squid, they are considered qualified! The meal for 4 people cost $1100, cash only. Although the floor of the building is not too low, it may be because of the use of glass walls and floor tiles, but the environment is very noisy and it is difficult to speak! Last night, Brother Lak and Xiu Gu and a group of more than 10 people came here to help. Ying Ying only greeted the celebrities, while the other diners all turned into jelly beans. Not only was there no greeting, but the attitude was also numb! It turns out that Michelin s standards are so high, it s really hard to predict!
This is a very good restaurant with very good food made the traditional Hong Kong way. Taste great. This is a restaurant for locals. People who care about ambiance but not so much about quality can skip this place. This place is all about food and taste.
Just passing by, no help! Feel sorry!
Tastes good The place is too small and uncomfortable to sit on The price is quite expensive, too many market prices!
Food was great
I personally will not help you anymore
Both food and service are very good. As this place is very popular, early booking is a must. The price is also very reasonable.
Impressed by all of the dishes. Signature grill pigeon is a must try! Other dishes tastes A++ A cozy place nearby Prince Edward mtr. Good for friends and family gathering.
A very popular Chinese restaurant ~ service and food are excellent. Early reservation is required.
Ordered the left half of a fresh chicken from Wenchang. When it arrived, it was very thin and evenly sewed. The second time I ate half a Hainanese chicken, it was twice the size She Zhong wants to collect more than two hundred and a half birds Maybe Im not a regular customer Other dishes are generally not large or fresh, but the price is a bit expensive Once you ve bought something, you ve learned not to trust foodie randomly.
Stop what you re doing and EAT THE FOOD HERE. End of story. Ten thousand stars.
3.7 Stars The only thing Im picky about todays meal is that the salt and pepper squid was fried a little bitter.
Food fresh and delicious
The fried lobster rice noodles are delicious! Stir-fried Bones Ma Ma Di
The pickled fish has no sauerkraut at all, which is super bad
Very average.
Missed orders, slow service.
Managed by a real celebrity chef, the stir-fry is super delicious
The food is delicious, but the environment is too bad. It would be great if the hygiene problem could be improved!
Okay but a bit over price
The level remains the same
New-style Cantonese cuisine, the price is mid-to-high, but the place is narrow.
A very nice Hong Kong restaurant opens until late evening. The dishes are all really great and delicious. You have to try the shrimps with chrispy deep-fried rice noodles and sour fish which are their signature dishes. The deep fried pigeon is very juicy and taste wonderful.
Michelin recommendation, worth of it.
Delicious Cantonese cuisine
Nice of local food
Took forever
Pretty, upright.
Delicious! Only slightly crowded!
2019-01 It was my first time to go there. Sitting on the left side of the isolation table were Dan Ge and Xiu Gu. The stir-fried pork ribs were delicious, especially the D sauce! 2019-06 The stir-fried pork ribs maintain the standard. The vegetables are lightly drizzled
The food is beautifully presented and fresh! Worthy of being a Michelin restaurant
Eat until the fire boils. Called three men, the two of them waited for half an hour on the left and there was Nogami first. Call the squab on the left, and it will arrive first by an hour or so. Brother Shi had already finished eating for ten minutes, but he refused to cancel. Asked to pay the bill but refused to pay. Crazy thread.
Good food, reasonably priced
Comment on Mizilian! Of course the price varies! Before you go! think about it
Yummy
Always tasty
Need not to pay a visit! Or d salty chicken dish might made skillfully, its over priced! Not much choice for other dishes. Dont expect smthg special,u will be sorry.
Pickled grouper fish, lobster on rice base Salted fish pancakes, kale pot, squab, boiled beef
Spicy food and crowed sittinq
Chinese restaurant open until late, offering some very tasty food. Some items seem a bit pricey but they generally dont disappoint.
Delicious
The food is small and tastes numb
Chef
1400 for 4 people. It s not expensive, but it s so good that it s hard to eat. It s so hot that it bursts.
There is something to expect ( ´ ` ) ~
Great service, yummy food. The fish and lobster on crispy rice waffle is great
A popular local restaurant serving Cantonese cuisines with own modified recipes of which the effect was fairly impressive. I liked the steamed fish with aromatic Sichuan pepper & mildly spicy hot flavors. No frills at all on interior decoration nor serving utensils for customers. The main attraction would be the quality of food!
Good product, friendly staff
High standard of food
Amazing traditional Cantonese food done very well
good food
Every food is delicious, but not overpowering, and the cooking is top-notch. Even if the chef comes to call it a day, you can just finish the meal. It is also a Michelin-starred restaurant. I recommend the salted fish pancakes. Pan-fried to golden brown and crispy, the meat patties are of moderate thickness. There is gravy when you bite them. They are not dry and solid. They have the flavor of salty fish but are not so salty that you need to drink water. It is a first-class meal. Updated at 29/11/2019 I heard it was a blue corpse, which is a pity
Very cost-effective, worth helping
The food is OK, the place is OK, about 300 yuan per person
It tastes good.
