380 Boulevard Sir Wilfrid Laurier, Mont-Saint-Hilaire, Quebec J3H 5V3, Canada
Bright Chinese outfit offering all-you-can-eat lunch & dinner buffets & a full menu of classic fare.
By the size of the place and the price, I expected a lot more. Instead, the actual buffet is only two very short rows with only a few options. Food is ok, nothing extraordinary. It's crazy to think that this is what $29.99 will get you nowadays. When you add the tip and the fees, it's comes down to $39.66! 40 bucks for ordinary chinese food is insane. 5 years ago, before covid, you'd pay 15 bucks all included for a place like this. When it comes to the physical place itself, it has tables in 45 degrees, so they can pack more of them together. Its almost impossible to walk to the buffet without hitting other peoples tables and chairs. Not a big deal, but it's annoying. Service isn't good either. You have to call the waiter several times for him to finally come at your table. To be fair, the place was packed. Which turns all this into something even more sad. People have already accepted that this is the new reality.
FLIES so many FLIES flying around the table and in our food the entire time. also be careful when tipping because they already ad a 15% tip without telling you before you pay and the machine still asks if you want to leave a tip.
Honestly, this place is the worst Chinese buffet I’ve ever had. No variety of food, the food is too salty or simply doesn’t taste good. The price is too high for this quality of food. I do not recommend this place and I will never go back there for sure.
I haven't been to a Chinese buffet since March 2000 when everything shut down. Went to Chan today and it was amazing. Everything there was so fresh, from the salmon to the shrimp to the rice and ribs. An abundance of salads and a huge sweet table. I WILL BE BACK. Rick.
Possibly the worst “Chinese” buffet? I honestly think to call the food served here Chinese food is an insult. They had a very limited selection of menu items. Missing any type of classic entree (beef and broccoli, chicken sir fry’s, white rice). Many things on the buffet were also mis-labeled. Every single protein was over cooked, general Tao (a least that what is was labeled as) was unrecognizable, sweet and sour sauce was more sweet than sour and unrecognizable in colour, the egg and spring rolls were obviously pre made but not even fried right (cold or vey wet in the center), in fact all the food in the buffet was served luke warm or cold even when I managed to get Buffett refill straight from the kitchen, there were prepackaged pastry’s (pies and cakes) for dessert, the “blueberry” pie was the constancy of a bean pie, very strange, and the ice cream was also awful ) it was hard to tell what flavour we were eating exactly (was it green mint! Pistachio! Almond or some weird fruit?) 25$+ for a dinner buffet is pretty steep considering the quality and selection. I think they must stay in business due to there not being another Chinese place within 50-100km. Positive…. The staff was efficient at clearing the tables, however they sat everyone in the restaurant very close together despite have a very large dining room.
I was there when this restaurant opened we were regulars for years We moved away 9 years ago but would alwwys go eat there when we were in the area. That is until we went on April 7 2019 Not the same place at all Food was awful floors sticky will never go back ! Very cold food, egg rolls were from the day before for sure overdone and gross
I took me a while to try this place, but I'm glad I finally did. Their buffet is huge with a really wide selection. Everything I had tasted great, but then again, my expectations were set reasonably because it's a buffet after all. The dining room is exceptionally spacious, so you should have no trouble getting a seat. Although, I have noticed on certain weekend nights the place does fill up pretty well!
Big dinning room and variety of food is ok. Waiters are nice and constantly picking up dishes and giving refills. A bit more pricey than other buffet we've been (22$/adult-12$kids but maybe the prices are different when it is not a Sunday).
Very good and the number 1 staff thank you for the quality of the products
If the service is good the food is just ok and not very varied, a lot of things I missed during my visit. The counters and tables could do with more careful cleaning. I do not recommend it given the value for money.
Tipping is not obligatory in Quebec. Yet here he forces you. If all you did was bring a pitcher of water and you left it on the table because you dont want to do your job as a waiter. You can forget your tip. We left the naprons and 2 glasses on the table... but I got yelled at because I didnt leave a tip. Do your job like the world and Ill leave you a tip, but what nerve to complain to me afterwards. We give you what you deserve... A smile or coming to see us during the SERVICE to ask us if everything is okay or if we want something to drink, these simple, yet, she did not come at any time. A pitcher of water at the start, a bill Wow, what a service! Plus your food isn t worth $66 for 2, let s see . And your rubber chicken is not edible. In addition, the restaurant has not changed in 20 years.
Alright
Impeccable service but slightly higher price but it was Friday so understandable
A good buffet, smaller than a continental buffet with less choice, lots of seafood. I found that there were a lot of classics there, I liked the food. I liked having tea or coffee or a soft drink that was included with the meal. 2 choices of soups including the Won ton which is very good.
Not much choice but everything there is excellent
Much too expensive for a dinner almost $30
I really like eating in this restaurant
EXCELLENT SERVICE! GOOD FOOD! We had read previous comments and we really werent sure, we said well go and form our own opinion and frankly no regrets! Very well eaten and the service was impeccable!
Excellent but unfortunately a little expensive
Excellent Chinese buffet. There is a lot of choice and not expensive. Parking: There is more parking behind the restaurant AND there is an entrance to the restaurant behind. Enjoy your food!
Ordinary food.
Honestly, WOW! Super good food, I highly recommend to everyone. The young blonde lady at the reception does a very good job. Good listening and good articulation on his part, very nice experience, I will come back!!
Very good yum, service very quickly never plates on the table the waiters are fast, all the food is good, avoid cabin 2 of the bathroom very nice atmosphere
Simple buffet but good, quite a few choices. Very affordable prices. Efficient staff. Ideal for family. If you like simplicity, this is the restaurant for you.
I often go to eat there and I still enjoy the food but the last time I showed up (there were 6 of us) I saw the poster at the entrance regarding the obligation to leave a tip and so I decided to change course and that me and my family would eat elsewhere. Tipping should be optional at all times and earned by good service. It s all the more brazen of them to do this, especially since we re talking about a buffet so the customer has to help themselves! There is no question for me of encouraging an establishment that practices obligatory tipping, there has been enough abuse with tipping in recent years. I usually always tip when I go to a restaurant but no, its a question of principles. Your policy is shameful! You have just lost customers and I am sure that we will not be the only ones to react like this.
Not much choice
Very good food, lots of choice
Never again!! $30 thrown out the window Buffet full of empty, dishes unwrapped from the bag barely reworked, poor quality food, no taste, and God knows Im not someone picky about food, the worst Chinese buffet ever!
I will never go back. Very disappointed.
Super good go if
Delete the correct command because 2 words are misspelled and transcribe the command incorrectly. I insist that they transcribed correctly and what was crossed out was not good. Yet it was my real order. In the end the boss arranged things well. Thank you so much
Super good.
Fatal!
Good buffet but ordinary.
Extremely expensive for the buffet, its really not worth $30 and the food is ordinary, the drinks are included in the price, but it shouldnt be, we just took water.
The food is of very good quality. For a lunch buffet the choice is very good for the price per person. Noys sum from Lac-Megantic, but we will come back for sure!!
Best Chinese restaurant in the area
Nothing has changed since my last visit 8 years ago. Almost no choice at the buffet, it tastes nothing and the desserts are dry and what about the fan which pushes the air and dust directly onto the trays. For the price, its a steal!!!!
Really disappointed to have driven 45 minutes for this buffet. Lets face it, its not what it used to be. Unsmiling employee and busboy dressed as bs
Good buffets super good food thank you very much by
Poor, unsmiling service, I refused to tip and the gentleman told me it was for the government But what an idiot seriously
The service was: a jug of water which put us on the table and took back the plates, plus he hurried us to leave and when it was time to pay he forgot to tip us 15 percent, claiming that it was for the government
Always so good, fresh and reasonably priced, Im delighted!
Very big place! Lots of varieties! Excellent customer service! Wow!
I found the food very good
Too salty very few varieties
They made me wait for more than 20 minutes, first serving the customers present on the premises as if I was not a customer, also a lack of respect from such a prestigious place.
Excellent! Lots of choice Vegetarian options: Several choices Dietary restrictions: If you have food allergies, dont hesitate to go there because there are a lot of dishes. Parking: Parking is directly in front of and behind the front door Kid-friendliness: Family restaurant
Great food
We decided to try this all you can eat buffet despite reading negative reviews and we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff is very welcoming and the waiter who took care of us was always attentive! We always had our glasses full and empty plates were constantly being cleared away. The cuisine is quite varied with broths and hot cooked dishes and fresh salads, makis and desserts. We therefore recommend this address with pleasure!
It was delicious.
Food
The service is lousy no smile and stupid
Very dissatisfied with the service of this restaurant mediocre quality of beef the waiter is oppressive the people tipped in front of him if you dont give him what he wants he becomes very bitter and arrogant not a very good waiter never ever goes back there to eat I have afraid of being sick the next day
The little girl is very bright and good food
Some choices like the chicken or eggrolls were too dry or hard to cut but its a buffet so forgivable. However, the food was always hot. We were unable to choose an a la carte meal. Our server was afraid of getting mixed up so couldnt do my bill discreetly because I wanted to pay for my mother without her knowing, and instead had to hang out with her. We werent allowed to more than one lucky cookie per person. And of course, as drinks (non-alcoholic) are included in the price, they dont ask you if you want something to drink. But it was still good.
The food is excellent. I will definitely go back there. The buffet is very varied which I like. Parking: Very large. I dont know how much room. Kid-friendliness: Buffet is perfect for them. Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant on the ground floor.
Buffet not too many choices but ok
Its delicious
We really like this restaurant. Won ton soup, chicken wings, rice, shrimp, assortment of vegetables, everything is good! Superb atmosphere and we are not pushed in the back! Vegetarian options: Nice choice of vegetables Parking: Lots of space in the back Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs
The service was great, we were afraid to read the comments but no, it was very good. Plate removed our glasses were always filled. The buffet could have had more choice but overall it was good and fresh.
Its good the reasonable price the only thing he has waiters that he wants 15 to 20 percent of the bill with TAX as a tip otherwise it could be seen that he was not happy. I tell the text together for the tip
Sooooo good and good prices. Love it
Fresh foods.
We have eaten at several Chinese buffets before and this one was, unequivocally, the worst. No variety, very low quality products; dry, little taste, reheated and unprepared. All this in a macabre atmosphere with poor quality service (we were made to pay while we ate ) All this beautiful cocktail for the modest sum of $33 with taxes per person, tip not included. I strongly advise against it, even for those who are not necessarily looking for quality.
Good buffet, one of the last in the area!!! THANKS
Some foods lack heat or too dry, general tao, but won ton good egg roll
Very good service and very very delicious food for Aciatica food lovers this is the right place
Very good Chinese buffet, I always like their food. Even when I was a child. Thanks for always being there!
The food is always good and fresh for a very affordable price, especially at lunch, less than $20 per person and a drink is included in the price. Good customer service, which is rather rare in buffets. Plenty of space and tables, perfect for large group reservations. Parking: Parking space at the front and back of the buffet. Kid-friendliness: Always a good welcome for children.
Good place, food could be better, but it is enjoyable!
Very good
Very little choice, overcooked and recooked food. Very rarely do I go to a buffet. We went there to please family members, so with a group of 8. The restaurant owner automatically adds a 15% tip in this case. However, the calculation is made on the total amount including the tax portion. I consider this a bit exaggerated considering that people have to help themselves.
Good dinner, but still expensive. On Saturday evening there are a lot of people, I strongly suggest you make a reservation. You often have to turn because the dishes are quickly empty. The food is as good as ordered.
The food is corect it has some things drier than others but overall its corect the service for example impeccable
Good food and a decent price. I am a vegetarian.
Cold and dry meal very poor service and asks for more tip than 12% after seeing you enter an amount look at your pin as well as everything you do on the machine advise against the restaurant
Very good
Dinner ok. A little disappointed that the ice cream was so frozen, impossible to take too much...
Its still very good, but whats going on with the prices?! I know the pandemic has been hard, but at some point it takes its toll. 3 wonton soups and 4 eggrolls, it shouldnt cost more than $20 and yet I had to pay more than $30! At this point, its laughing at your customers. I doubt I will be so faithful especially since the quality remains the same. You should also think about doing a major cleaning of your bathrooms which have never been renovated in the last 25 years!
Good place to get together with family and the buffet is very good and the servers do an excellent job.
Food was delicious but was not hot only warm
Its getting worse and worse!! Not much choice and everything is bfffff
$27.95 for an evening buffet with leftovers from lunch or the rice was quite ordinary the rice was dry the sausages were reheated 10x chicken full of crunch in summary nothing positive I dont recommend
My friends and I went to eat on a Friday evening. The meal choices were very limited (compared to the continental buffet for example). The food looked like it had been there for several hours, sauce crusts had even formed on the dishes and several food pans were completely empty. I also had a stomach ache the rest of the evening. In short, for paying $74 for 2 people, it s a steal. To flee.
The waitress herself entered the tips when paying the bill on the interact machine and she imposed a tip on me which was much more than 15% what I wanted to leave at the start. I found it really very ordinary!
RESTAURANT TO AVOID Buffet with little choice and still very expensive $30 per adult plus they tried to impose a tip of more than 25% on our bill. Be careful to check your invoice carefully before paying.
Diverse, good and easy
The kitchen was not very good, disappointed. But usually its good
Wednesday, Lunch buffet (12:50 p.m.) Not great, very very limited choices, some meat+chicken+noodles=dry and lukewarm/cold. Very disappointed, never again. To think that before the Pandemic, it was not a bad restaurant. Parking: Not enough space
For those who like Chinese food, this is the right place.
Very good service
Perfect for a family party
We ordered Chinese meal number 4 and the rolls were very hard, the Soo Guy chicken only tasted like oil, and in the Cantonese chow mein, no pieces of beef and chicken were edible. Conclusion: first and last time we ordered from this restaurant, it was very unfortunate.
Classic Chinese buffets (American style) but pleasant. Very good, courteous and fast service. Perfect for groups. Kid-friendliness: Pizza and fries are available for those less adventurous.
I loved the buffet
Very poor service. The waiter brought us a jug of water when we arrived and he didnt come by again all evening. When it was time to pay, he wanted to force us to tip 15% but I refused because he was stupid and served us zero all evening. He gave us our bills and left with his machine. Very ordinary to treat your customers like this. First and last time I went there. As for the cooking, the chicken was dry and everything was reheated. I do not recommend this restaurant for the poor quality of the dishes and the rudeness of the employees.
No service at all, they dont want to work so much that they leave the pitcher of water on the table we asked for juice for the little one, we finished eating and he still hasnt had it, the food is squeaky not good unlike the Chinese buffet that I usually go to, seriously I DO NOT RECOMMEND eating at the one in Drummondville, there you will get what you pay for
Im a Chinese buffet lover, food was ok nothing special, I pay 32 dollars for lunch, first time I pay that much in a Chinese buffet
Made too expensive Plus I burned my hand on the soup counter. Be careful, they put down the cauldron which arrives very hot, for replacement. I cant imagine a child putting his hands or his chin on the edge.
From the outset it s a buffet so don t expect anything grandiose. The dishes were hot, lots of frying, plenty of salt. Little choice/variety. Despite the salt, very little flavor. Fast and very courteous service. Atmosphere from another era. Price a little too high but that seems to be the norm.
Lunch buffet, a big bummer, very expensive for the choice offered, the little choice offered is not bad in itself, but certainly not worth $18 (and more) each person. In short, too expensive and very limited selection. Regular food quality.
For a buffet its extremely expensive! Parking: Not a lot of parking spaces.
Classic Chinese buffet food, very good service, maybe some background music would do a little good
Good restaurant, but we arrived there at 7 p.m. and it closed at 8 p.m., so the dishes were no longer as freshly cooked, a little too long under the stove. It was good though. There is a bit of a lack of choice and especially not many options for desserts.
Please avoid this place. For this price per person, you can eat well elsewhere. Very little choice, no flavor. An improvement in the service and options offered would be welcome.
Tips on the bill, way too expensive for what you get, slow service, etc... Its a buffet. The cooks not too smiling. They have this look .
I wont go back! Expensive for what we eat, Not much variety, Cold atmosphere,
Excellent and delicious food
Very good many choice beautiful place small comment clean the carpet please but the rest very good thank you
BRAVO Buffet Chan Dishes in abundance. Nice variety of menu. Appetizing food. Excellent garlic chops. If the food was hotter I would have given you a 5 STAR for the kitchen. Very satisfied with my dinner.
Ordered to take away, everything was very good.
5 for value for money
Very ordinary food... I wouldnt give it to my dog. Normal Chinese buffet service, arrogant waiter and you never see him. Finally he asks you for a tip for bad service!! I recommend if you want to waste a nice evening at 2 and 60$
Very disappointed, I went this evening with my wife, my father and my grandmother, it was really very very disappointing, the floor was so sticky that I lost a shoe in front of the melon counter, which was good make a customer laugh. I wanted to take a piece of black forest cake and when I shook the shovel at least about 40 fruit flies flew out of it. The coke was flat, the water tasted like undrinkable Nestlé water. The wong tong soup tasted like Kleenex, not too fresh. And so on. I was even sick, I had to go and freshen up in their magnificent (sacarstic) toilet. The ministry should take a look... The waiter made me leave an extra tip... which I didnt do but he gave me an attitude. It cost me $70 for 2, for a meal where I was sick and Im used to traveling and eating dishes from different cultures and all kinds of new things, thats why my very negative review of this restaurant. The good thing is that at least I was able to make my grandmother laugh, but at that price I would have rented a clown for an hour, it would have been more profitable. For real, Im disappointed in my memories it was very good and I didnt have to have 2 gravols when I got home.
Cest magique
Terrible service, reheated food, it was good before but now I advise you to avoid this restaurant. The waiter asked for a tip, he is arrogant and he doesnt take care of us. $60 for two, very expensive for the poor quality of food. Very disappointing!
Its a Chinese buffet.
Need a little love, I know its a buffet and not gastronomy but...on the other hand I was very well served.
The Won Ton soup is excellent, the noodles are the perfect size for a good bite, hold together well and dont fall apart! My boy loves it.
Degusting service seriously I have rarely seen that the waiter not even able to be present and the waiter did not stop us in a hurry to finish because it closes at 8:00 p.m. and it was 7:00 p.m. and told us to hurry up really special as a place. The food not fresh it takes up leftovers from the day before and even those which probably date from several days before. I ended up sick the next day as rarely seriously called a food inspector its a hurry Ive been going there for a long time before it was really better plus when I asked for a refund and they disrespected us and made fun of us
My last visit was most disappointing.
Not always consistent.
from my experience of not eating there the food is really not good it is really disgusting that I finished eating I threw up my race on the ground
Excellent beloved for a first visit..
Classic Chinese buffet and in the South Bank
Very nice food, large buffet. Take what you like - and how much you want. Parking: More parking is behind the restaurant available. Kid-friendliness: High seats for children are available. Wheelchair accessibility: All flat floors. Self service at buffet - you may need some help to get food.
I really liked going to this restaurant but no, ask me for a 10% tip to help the restaurateur, really its a buffet I dont have to give it
Really ordinary dry, overcooked, or soft food
Good meal at will
Too expensive, everything tastes the same and there were errors in the order. It was our second try and it was like the first time.
It was good
Parking: Petit stationnement en avant mais un plus gros derrière avec une porte pour le restaurant !! Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant au RC avec une descente pour les fauteuil !!
Made a reservation for 10 people, our table was ready when we arrived. Dish was hot, but several dishes were empty on our first plate. We waited almost 5 minutes and they arrived to fill the empty dishes. I recommend this restaurant
I dont think theres much for dinner. The flavor changes a lot.
Prices are UP but good is great.
Alright
Quite ordinary... questionable food, questionable toiletries and waitress asking for a certain tip.
Very long service and lukewarm food and some dishes did not seem fresh
Good place to go with friends
Very disappointed, when we arrived the Buffet was practically empty and was hardly filled, no traditional Chinese recipes respected. The dishes were very poorly seasoned and certainly not made on site. It displays sushi at the entrance, yet upon our arrival two sushi remained on the Buffet and nothing more after. I certainly do not recommend this Chinese Buffet.
The waiter is too insistent and has a limit on paying if he doesnt pay for you with your card.
Very expensive and the food is not good or varied
Good food and reasonable price. Beautiful decor
Went for lunch on a Sunday, my first time going, I wasn t expecting much, but the staff was friendly, and the food was average for that price. I would definitely go back for lunch.
Good value for money and services, very friendly staff
Low price, for children aged 5 to 10, quality of meal is good
Uneven quality
Expensive for a buffet $26.95 plus the waitress who tips herself 18% :(
