This establishment is quite remarkable. The staff is exceptionally friendly and the food is simply delightful. The bifana, in particular, is an absolute must-try. I highly recommend this place and will certainly be returning in the future. The wall where patrons can leave their signatures is a fantastic touch. It adds a personal and interactive element to the dining experience. Well done to the management and staff for creating such a wonderful establishment.
I’ve traveled to all 3 barcelos, and the food is extraordinary! the workers greet such a welcoming entrance when you walk in and the food if freshly prepared! This is definitely in my top 3 of my favorite restaurants. Go visit Barcelos!
We ordered the half chicken with rice and the rice came soaked with oil even though the chicken was good. The rice was leaking oil so much that it even seeped out of the brown paper bag and smeared my entire table. It also tasted not fresh and so greasy. Don’t know what to say but the food wasn’t up to our expectations
Tried it for the first time. Waited 20m for the breast plate to go but service was good. Presentation was nice, rice was awesome, fries were good but chicken was small and undercooked; had to throw away the skin(thus the piri-piri sauce which costs extra) and some meat as well.
Very good food! We had different sandwiches, my wife had the chicken and I had the chicken and chorizo. Reasonable prices and you have the option of with or without fries. We went without and it was just as well because we probably couldn't have eaten the fries on top of the huge sandwiches.
Really enjoyed my experience at Barcelos! Welcoming staff and clear instructions given ahead of time. The food was so delicious, especially the chorizos and the portuguese potatoes. Will definitely come back again!
The only place I know outside of Montreal where you can get real Portuguese BBQ. Look at the size of the regular poutine. It's enormous, and delicious. Their piri piri sauce is perfect, the chicken and chorizo excellent, I've also liked the fish croquettes. Who would have thought that an authentic Portuguese restaurant would open it's doors in a small town like this?
AAAMMMAAAAZZZING poutine and chicken... charcoal broiled and super juicy!!!!! Prices are very good and service very friendly and lots of smiley faces... There's enough space for a party of 30 ppl. Did I mention how amazing the poutine and chicken and chorizo are!?!?! Enjoy and check those juicy pictures and ohhh don't forget the Natas!!!! Enjoy!!!!
I ordered three meals online for takeout. I ordered them online in advance and had to wait 15 minutes for them to be ready (It was 15 minutes after opening so not very busy). But thats not what frustrated me the most. I was charged $6 for a tip I didnt give (its a carry-out meal after all) when ordering online. The tip was added and seen when confirming the order by email. I even went through all the steps of an order to check if I hadnt seen something and there was NEVER a question of tip. A tip for a carry-out order should be voluntary, not added in a sneaky way.

The Portuguese cuisine of this restaurant is delicious, the meat is well cooked and tasty, plus the texture is perfect without being dry. People looking for flavors will find happiness there. The service is courteous, there is no waiter/waitress in this restaurant and the cashier was professional. The restaurant is medium in size and can accommodate people without being cramped. Its slightly dark, but the building is a little old.

What to say! A beautiful mix of Quebec and Portuguese dishes in a single restaurant. The food is full of flavor and served generously. The welcome is warm. Certainly, a pretty place in the town of Mont-Saint-Hilaire and worth visiting!
Portuguese chicken it s here!!! The chicken is fantastic, the spicy sauce is the best, however I would have liked to have a little regular sauce on the chicken.... to come back if we are in the area!!! You have to try this famous poutine!!!

What a disappointment. Having been there often in the past, I was looking forward to tasting the chicken potine. The fries are no longer seasoned as before, there were only a few pieces of chicken. Had to look for them. $110 for 3 regular chicken poutine, 2 salads and a piripiri sauce .I won t go back there again

Tout ça mélangé dans une sauce piri-piri maison savoureuse. Faite attention cest dangereusement bon. Ah oui, autre suggestion: le sumol, fruit de la passion, pour ceux qui aime ça sucré... très sucré.

Their Fameuse Barcelos poutine is truly excellent. Just one observation: I have the impression that they put less piri-piri in their poutine than before? I sometimes order their chicken and it is very good. Delivery is always fast, even more so when I call for a pick-up. The staff is friendly.

The poutine was the best dish I ate. The sauce is really good, the amount of cheese and chicken was huge! The whole chicken was good but was a little dry. The piri piri sauce was really good, I would have had 4x more to dip it all in lol. The basic chicken sandwich was way too basic in my opinion. The house salad was excellent. I would go back there for poutine. Parking: Plenty of parking nearby.

Ungrilled chicken, soft skin, not like Portuguese chickens which are cooked on a spit.

Hello, we had a bad experience on this place today. The employee was very rude. They were not prepared to have a customers outside. Theres no disposable cups or plates. Chicken was good. Bifanas good too. Fries was very brown seems no fresh. Definitely not recommend

Mediocre place the restaurant is dirty my chicken was still pink and the new staff I am sure is not professional like the one before he does not recommend this restaurant to anyone very bad experience.
This is no longer what Barcelos originally was. Forget crispy skin and hot chicken. The sauce was changed to one that is similar to a sauce bought at the grocery store. Very average service and almost doubts the healthiness of the establishment. Very unfortunate.

To think that we were regular customers, every 7 to 10 days we went to get Barcelos. Super good food, on the other hand since the change of staff, nothing is the same, reduction in the quality and quantities of food, staff barely greet the customers, affordable price which has increased quite a bit, places less clean than before, no longer offers the same customer service as before. Its disappointing!! We just dont go there anymore. Sorry my 5 star rating dropped to 1 star

My first experience in Barcelos and not my last! I loved the family menu, changing the fries for poutine! Sick !! Generous portion plus the employees are super friendly! The chicken was super good plus the salad oufff! Not to mention that the poutine is super delicious! In fact, everything was good from A to Z! The place is not worth a 4.6 but a straight 5!
