With the idea of introducing Montreal to authentic Asian Cuisine with a twist, we made the decision to open Le Majesthé. Our goal is to have our customers enjoy the aesthetic presentation of our food, and the unique taste of fused cuisines. Our drinks are made with fresh ingredients and We specialize in creating our own sugar syrup and brewed tea to enhance the taste and fragrance of the drinks. We are inspired by the bold Asian spices and the elegant plating of Western dishes. We strive to make our customers feel as if they've stepped into restaurant which they've never experienced before. We're always searching for new inspirations to improve our menu, and to provide our customers with the highest quality of dishes.
I had an amazing time there! I went for a birthday celebration and everything was just perfect—the atmosphere, the jazz performance, and the food came out really quickly. A big thanks to the fantastic customer service, especially to our waitress Amanda, who did an incredible job handling our large group in such a short time. I’ll definitely be back!
Amanda, our server was suuuuuper attentive and a an amazing conversionalist❣️ The new guy was also super polite and waited till we were done our conversation to pick up our plates, so cute and considerate 🥹🥰 As for the food, bro they got the best fricking fries I've ever had, super worth the buck. Basil chicken was delicate and not oily at all, it's clean and tasty. I appreciate as well the taste of green onion was fresh and that's something worth noting. It's a hella of a vibe in there as well with the ambient light & chill rnb music. Ideally if I'm eating like food food I'd love to be seated in a bench area but I was just chilling tonight. I heard there was live music on Saturdays, I will for sure be back for that! They did say to reserve for busy days do keep that in mind! 💕🥰🫶🏼
Great customer service from Sean and his colleague. They’ve changed up some menu items like from the later images before their move, the food is still good. They’ve always done a great job on presentation and quality. The seating is mostly high tables or couches by coffee tables.
Don't bother, the food was horrendous. I ordered chicken curry omirice, chicken was super dry, curry was cold. Calamari was over fried, squid was rubbery. General Tao is not how general Tao should be, it's tiny like bite of meat and it's not sweet and sour. Should not called it a general Tao, it was misleading. Does not worth to climb 3 flights of stairs to this hole. Overall over hyped.
I went for a live jazz evening and had a wonderful time! What a hidden gem! It's well worth finding if you want to have a nice evening with some awesome food, friendly staff, good drinks, and live music. One of the staff even went up and sang with the Jazz group for a while, and she was great! I recommend Majesthé unreservedly. The food, ambiance, and entertainment are all great.
I stumbled upon this cool little spot after searching for a place to eat on Google. I was there with a couple of co-workers and so we decided to order a bunch of stuff to share. The food quality of everything was great and the server even sold me on the drink special which was a white plum negroni that I have to say was delicious and I was excited that they had the proper ice to go with it. We were serenaded by jazz music and even our server jumped in to sing a little bit and we were super impressed. All round good job and I would go back. Give it a shot!
Great bistro-bar. Good place for drinks or dinner. They often have a live band at night. The food is fusion so don’t expect the dishes to be authentic. I came for dinner. They have tiny tables for 2 so if you plan on ordering lots of food, ask to be seated at the bigger table. I tried the takoyaki and pork bao as appetizers. The takoyaki was good but not crispy enough. The pork baos were quite big. The buns were soft and fluffy. They were very generous with the pork. For my main course, I had the vegetarian Yaki Udon with crispy tofu. I loved the mushroom sauce on the udon. Delicious. However the huge piece of crispy tofu didn’t impress me. It was quite bland. I would have prefered small pieces of tofu. For dessert, I tried the hazelnut cake. It was ok.
The food was pretty good, and the vibes are excellent. The prices are reasonable and too! Enjoyed the meal overall, however I wish the service was a bit better. We had to wait a while to get water, and waited a long time for server to come by for us to ask for the bill
My main dish was very tasty, generously sized and reasonably priced. Some of the fried appetizers shared with the group were a bit burnt and tasted like old oil.
Came to the restaurant at 8:15 but was told their kitchen is closed Just why????
Delicious, great atmosphere Vegetarian options: Several veggie options
Food is very good and not to expensive! The service is simple and great. It feels like a student friendly restaurant .
Great food and service! Recommend
Good prices good food Amazing staff, best service I have had in a while!! Food
Amazing food and a great selection of drinks and cocktails. Will definitely become a monthly customer at this restaurant and bar! The staff was also very friendly and helpful when ordering food and also took note of allergies to make sure nothing bad would happen.
One of the best fried rice dishes i have ever had. Absolutely amazing. Pork belly was also great. The salad was really lacking but the food was good still i really enjoyed it.
MajesThé was a real treat to discover. The cocktails are unique, and the food is delicious. The waiters are also very considerate. It was a pleasure eating there and I look forward to going again!
Underground place with a vibe. Try it
dont want to gate keep this but all mcgill students love food, especially the gochujang noodles which might has been replaced in the menu
Accidental find. Lunchtime Japanese style vegetarian curry absolutely on point and delicious. Discount at lunch made affordable lunch to be even more so. Vegetarian options: Cari omurice tofu was yummy. As were the fried dumplings.
I ve been here for my birthday twice now and it s been a wonderful experience! Every time I visit this establishment I have a great time, the food is great, the ambiance is great and the service is fantastic. I want to shoutout Kreeve and Destiny who took special care of us and were so accommodating to my large group, they were really the crème de la crème I highly recommend this place!!
This place is a complete diamond in the rough and I dont know why its not more well known. Food and Drink: As the child of Taiwanese immigrants, Im pretty picky when it comes to Taiwanese food. MajesThés food is absolutely TOP NOTCH. Everything we had was good but highlights include the beef noodle soup, the Japanese chicken fried udon, and the Taiwanese basil fried chicken. They also have a great beverage program with delicious and creative cocktails using a lot of East Asian flavors you dont usually see. Service: Amanda, our server, was awesome. She had great energy and did a great job managing a table of 8. 4 of our table had gluten allergy/sensitivity and she did a great job making recommendations on dishes, amounts, etc. to make sure everyone was well fed. Our water cups were never empty, we never had to wait to order drinks, and the food arrived promptly without any mistakes. 5 stars for Amanda (If management sees this, she needs a raise) Vibe: Last but not least, the vibe was immaculate. It straddles the line of lively and chill in a great way. Its relatively dimly lit with a great mix of lounge seating, tables, and high tops. There was a great live band playing the night we were there playing funk/rock fusion. My friends and I loved it here and will make a point to visit anytime we are in Montreal.
Really good selection of Asian fusion dishes! Great drinks too and walking distance from many staple spots. Only con is a lack of parking
Very good service! Food was great too! I found the salmon tartare too wet, but everything else was fantastic
Drinks and food were really great and the service was amazing! Thank you Amanda for your time and helpful advice! Will go back soon!
Wow Amanda Bui is amazing ! 10/10
Good food and service, Amanda did a great job making us feel at home
Very good food and music!!! Waiter Amanda Bui is amazing 10/10 recommend
We had an outstanding experience at this restaurant, which we discovered through a Google search. The Asian fusion dishes were incredibly creative and delicious, perfectly complemented by flavorful cocktails. The ambiance was enhanced by a local band playing smooth jazz, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Amanda provided exceptional service, offering insightful recommendations and ensuring our evening was delightful. We re already looking forward to returning for more of their fantastic dishes and live music!
Tristin has been amazing!! Best night in Montreal so far
We came here with a group of eight and Amanda took awesome care of us. The food was outstanding, the drinks were great, and the band killed it all night! We re definitely coming back!
Huge delicious portions, attentive service.
My brother and I had a wonderful experience at MajesThé. A great place for dinner, drinks with amazing hospitality. A personal Thank You to the owner, and I look forward to returning very soon!
Cheap food in the heart of downtown. Nice interior and friendly staff. Fries are crispy and very good.
I can tell that the chefs here actually care about the food. Its TASTY AND well-presented....and decently priced!
The food is excellent especially the breaded chicken curry and rice and the service is impeccable. I didnt know that there was coriander in my bao and Im intolerant to it and the waiter didnt argue and made me another one without coriander.
When I first walked in, I noticed that there were no Asians in the store and I was worried that it wouldn t taste good. But when I was about to finish eating, I saw what must have been the boss coming in. He opened the door from a strange place. The braised pork rice was quite delicious, and there was nothing wrong with it. At first I thought the cucumbers were fresh cucumbers, but when I tasted them I found that they were pickled similar to pickled radish. Then I thought that actually it would be better to add shredded pickled radish and make a radish salad. In this way, the plate will have a little more color present, which will make it look more beautiful without affecting the taste. The Taiwanese steamed buns also taste very good. The only thing that bothers me is that they always feel like meat buns, and it doesn t look very strange visually. Also, it s too difficult to bite into a large piece of pork belly The fried tofu is okay, the French fries are great, but it s strange that the French fries are very ordinary but there are really few restaurants that make delicious ones. The sauce is alioli, which is a novel combination but really delicious! For drinks, I ordered oolong milk tea, which was amazing. It s rare to encounter a shop that makes both milk tea and dishes very well. Then I looked at the bar and saw that the lady at the bar was either Asian or really amazing. I must order it, friends!
I very like the environment there. Its calm and such a vibe .The food was pretty good.I got the chicken curry omurice and kimchi pasta. I just wished the chicken was less dry. Other than that it was yummy !Plus the service was very good.
Went with my friend during business hours for lunch, tasty meal and cool ambiance. Vegetarian options: Tofu
Trendy food without flavor. It s a place where the food is not delivering on flavor. The atmosphere is definitely encouraging drinks so you don t notice how bad the food is. Wouldn t recommend it ever again.
Love this spot! My go-to dish is the Chicken Udon
The cocktails were fantastic and the food was really good. I had calamari bit greasy but good, braised 3 cup chicken that was recommended, and did not disappoint. I also had the sesame balls for dessert. Service forgot one of my drinks but made up for it with a free round for our table. Overall, its definitely has a cozy bar vibe. My issue with it was the atmosphere. Bathrooms were so dark that you needed those big night vision glasses from Jurassic Park. And the seating was these tiny metal stools. Its not the best for long sitting. I do recommend it, though.
Great experience, staff is nice, cozy and charming vibe. Not overtly expensive and food is pretty good.
Came 12:40 waited for over 50mins for nothing. Even table enter after us got their food, no one come to explain and no apologies at all. Table so small no place to put belongings at all.Terrible. Never come back again.
I had a wonderful night there
Fantastic jam sessions with Sean Cat Elliot et al!!! Toe stomping music. Great service and Asian fusion food. Once discovered it will become a very inspiring habit!! Highly recommended. Food
The curry chicken rice is the best!
Very nice discovery, food is awesome, staff is awesome, drinks are awesome, all in a cozy place
This used to be one of my favourite spots and I would always go there for the chicken karaage and wednesday cocktail deal, but my experience yesterday was very poor in terms of the food and drink quality. The chicken karaage was 60% burnt to the point that you could see it being black on most spots, and even with the sauce it tasted burnt as well - nothing like what it is usually. The drinks barely had any taste of what they were described as on the menu and were super watered down, proof of which I saw as I witnessed the bartender making the drinks in front of me with 25% actual content and the rest as ice. Very disappointed and not likely I ll go back again as the quality seems to have gone down
Good food and good price :)
Amazing customer service, food was excellent as well, will come again
Girls night out for my bday. I was a bit skeptical when i first walked in. There was a live band...not a fan BUT!!!!! We had a GREAT TIME!!! Our waitress Candice was super sweet and funny . The food is SOOO GOOD and CHEAP!!! Princess Peach drink is my favorite . Would definitely go back
I had high hopes from MajesThé. Next to a great Korean restaurant, cute ambience, great reviews. What could go wrong? This has to be the whitest Asian restaurant on this island. We had the Taiwanese pork bao buns, the lamb chops, the portobello mushrooms, the salmon tartar, a cauliflower thing, lamb skewers, and this new Cajun gumbo they were trying out. Everything was so bland! And the flavours were all unbalanced. Seemed to me like that there was the same mayo and soy sauce dressing on everything! The best thing was the lamb chops and they were just OK. The salad for the lamb chops were better than the lamb chops themselves. The worst was the new Cajun gumbo they were trying. Every single seafood item was overcooked and the flavours were just black pepper and butter. The absolute worst version I have ever had. The service was also so slow. There were only two tables and it took us a long time to flag down our waiter to take our order, even when mentioned to that I was in a hurry. The bartender was supposed to come up earlier and talk to me about possible cocktail choices and he only came up mid meal. Everybody else in my party were halfway through their drinks. It pained me to pay 146 CAD with tax for 3 peope. Came up to 167 CAD with tip.
Dishes need improvement.
It s a very friendly place with the rhythm of Montreal life and tasteful jazz. The waitress who took care of us was absolutely adorable. Smiling and friendly, she was quick and efficient. The meals are truly exceptional, especially the chicken karaage and its sauce! It will knock your socks off with flavor. I can only recommend this wonderful place.
Service and food are impeccable
Our reservation was completely ignored and they were not able to give us a table. On top of that, they told us to wait another 30 minutes. Poor management by the staff. DO NOT waste your time reserving a table at this place.
The food was delicious and the vibe was so nice. I will definitely come back!!
Very nice place, the service is quality and the team is great. We organized an event there and we were very well received. THANKS !
01/24/2024: They moved to the basement. Completely different concept. Uncomfortable chairs and tables but the food is good. I recommend less for lunch time. 09/27/2019: Great service even if I only took a Bubble tea to go, one of the best in Montreal so far. Small downside on the French language but they still understood me. They had more difficulty with the service during dinner time and the two people responsible for the orders did not speak French at all.
We went with a group of friends on January 2nd, when the lobby was empty. Vibe was immaculate. Lighting was romantic. Tall tables had hooks for our clothes, The signature curry omurices portion was very generous. And by spicy option, they mean it. Our waiter, Lis, was good at their job and even helped us take group photos. We were all very happy and full at the end.
Nice decor and spacious. The service is friendly but they are understaffed on busy evenings so can be slow to get to you. Menu is a mix of Western and Asian with a slight bend towards Korean and Japanese. Food tastes good but some dishes are quite overpriced. Ordered the eel dish from the evening menu and got half a bowl of rice, about 5 small pieces of eel and 3 small nori sheets. It looked like a kids dish. No need to say, that I had to order another main to fill up. Pork belly bao was tasty but again rather pricey. Definitely not the best option for Asian food in town but its proximity to McGill in the downtown core can make it convenient.
Amazing hidden gem! Ive been there three times now. Twice in a row this week I brought all my friends tonight. Great menu with options for many dietary requirements. Friendly staff and VERY FAST service. Food comes out really quickly. The BEST part about this cool space is that its a resto/bar that serves bubble tea! They have two milk teas and one fruit tea option. The sober people have fun drinks in tall glasses too! No dairy free option for the milk teas though. My friends loved the whiskey sour. They have live music sometimes too. You must try the pork Bao and tiger prawn Bao. Their salads are dressed really nicely too. Thank you! See you soon Wheelchair accessibility: Down one external flight of stairs and one internal staircase. No elevator that I could see unfortunately.
My friends and I give it a score of 8.5/10 for the food/drinks and 11/10 for the service and atmosphere! We will definitely return!
Vincent was a very good host! I recommend this place
Really nice place, super nice employees and very nice and kind owner
5 stars !
Really great place, I recommend. Must go. Really nice employes and owner
The food is really good, I eat there all the time
The Majesthé bar is the perfect place for a night out downtown, its just steps away from the McGill metro. The food is excellent with lots of Taiwanese specialties. If you have never tasted a bao bread, this is the place to try it, theirs are really delicious as well as the chicken karaage! They also have fabulous bubble tea style cocktails (with the tapioca at the bottom)! The service was good and the staff was attentive. We really enjoyed our evening. And for those who are interested, from time to time, they have jazz nights on Saturdays! The Majesthé bar is the perfect place for an evening in the city center, its just a stones throw from the McGill metro station. The food is excellent with many Taiwanese specialties. If you have never tasted bao bread, this is the ideal place to discover it, theirs are really delicious, just like the chicken karaage! The curry omu rice is amazing. You can clearly tell that the chicken from the chicken katsu has been marinated before frying. It is very tender with little taste of the spice s sweetness. The perfect golden brown crust is crunchy which pairs well with the curry. Overall I give curry omu rice a 5/5. Lamb skewer is juicy and tender. I will like a little more flavor, and personally not the fan of a the little wasabi I tasted. 4/5 The boba tea is done right! You should be able to taste a bit of a sweetness as you chew the boba. Majesthé had done exactly that. The oolong tea has a great scent too. 5/5. Unfortunately, I did not had the chance to taste the earl grey cheesecake. But the waiters and waitresses were kind enough to tell me when does the cheesecake come in and from which bakery. For that info I give the service 5/5. Overall it was a good experience!
Great pork belly bao! I had parked in the lot right next to the place, so decided to grab something to take home. Had read the bao was one of the best, and it was great, well cooked belly, condiments were great and the bao was on point. Ill be back.
We ordered 1.Taiwanese Salted Crispy Chicken 2. Japanese Tang Yang Chicken 3.Beef noodles 4. Curry fried chicken steak 5.Three cups of chicken So Taiwanese! You must try it if you have the chance!
Great atmosphere great food Best Taiwanese Restaurant in Montreal
I had a really great experience here, this restaurant was a whole vibe. The staffs here were super sweet and friendly who came to check up on us every once in a while. Special thanks to the owner who came out to chat with us. He was really down to earth, kind and relatable. As a taiwanese, the food here brings back memories back in taiwan. I strongly recommend this restaurant and want to wish the best to MajesThé!!
Very good food and drinks at a very reasonable price. Nice place with a nice atmosphere for both dates and a night out with friends. The owner is extremely nice and definitely good company! A good discovery in Montreal!
Love the vibe; cool place; nice drinks, good food! Decently priced!!
We really enjoyed our evening at MajesThé. Everything was perfect: the atmosphere, the food, the service. We will come back soon!
Came here for a friends bday, we decided to try this place since it had many good reviews. The service was good, everyone was friendly, they were able to accommodate us since we didn t want sit on the high chairs. I really liked the vibe of this place, it s chill and great place to hang out with some friends, music is not too loud so it s perfect to have conversations with ppl. The menu looked amazing but the food was unfortunately very bland. Every meal needed some seasoning or salt. I would suggest to order everything spicy since the non spicy had no taste. The fries were good and the baos were huge but delicious, I didn t expect that! The price of the menu was affordable and it came in big portions. We also had an issue with 2 plates, we had to wait at least 30 mins before receiving it and my 2 friends weren t hungry by then. They also made 2 mistakes with the meal, one was not spicy and the other was vegan, which was supposed to be chicken. I would probably come back another time but maybe to try out their bubble tea cocktails.
Went on a Wednesday night and they have 2 for 1 drinks. There was plenty of choice, each being very unique. Didnt have the food, but it looked delicious. Our waiter was so friendly and chatty. Environment was gorgeous, its so cozy and intimate. Cant wait to go again
Absolutely beautiful and comfy place. Staff has a great attitude, pretty drinks and delicious food.
The service was amazing! Definitely had the greatest night in Montréal. The bar was hype.
I ordered so many chicken dishes and they were all 10/10. The owner was very welcoming and this is honestly THE BEST bar I have ever visited in my life. Only reason Id come back to Montreal is for MajesThé!
EXTREMLY EXPENSIVE food for the very little quantity. The taste was horrible (drinks were made of only ice and the main food was smaller than my hand) vegan waitress will judge you and they obviously dont care for you (already waiting for mandatory 15% tips) horrible place and just weird ambiance. UPDATE; the owner disagree with everything i said. Maybe you should come at your own restaurant as a client and see for yourself. Its clear that you dont even know your own staff, the waitress with blond hair told us she was vegan herself. What original Vietnamese recipes? You must be joking, frozen and processed food is not considered traditional Vietnamese food, the beef that came with the ramen was clearly cooked in a different timeline than the ramen itself, wich was juste a paste put on water and ton of salt (and the beef was hard). And yes, we did waste 100+$ in this place, i wasnt alone, i came with my family so dont make rude guesses without making a retrospect perspective of this trash of a place. Try making food that you yourself would eat.
I would even vote 10 Stars if its possible. As an Asian, I confirm that this restaurant is a hidden treasure in Montreal. I promise! Its economic and tastes super great! The chefs have particularly got wonderful skill over all the Pork Belly products! !! It definitely should be known by more costumers! They have cozy couches down stairs in the bar area as well. As a Chinese diner in a foreign country, I can personally guarantee that our restaurant is a super delicious and affordable restaurant, and it is definitely a hidden treasure in Montreal! ! ! Close to the school and convenient transportation. The chef has unique skills in controlling meat. The service is attentive and the atmosphere is warm. The bar area also has sofas.
Very good food and service with reasonable prices
Came here recently for lunch and also for a 5a7 after work. Food was good and clearly showed the taiwanese flair. The fried items were perfectly crispy and seasoned. The pork belly rice was rich and decadent. Plenty of space for lunch. The menu has been reduced and they now only have two types of bubble tea (regular black tea and roasted oolong) and dont have as many options for the baos as before (no more soft shell crab or kimchi chicken). For the 5a7, the alcohol drinks menu offers many interesting options but it was difficult to get service as it got quite busy at night and even a bit loud. Still, the restaurant/bar is a good and convenient place to visit if you are nearby.
Nice atmosphere, friendly service and excellent foods. Very impressive authentic Asian foods from Taiwan. Always consistent quality food after multiple visits.
Come here with my friends, it was good experience:) The lamb chops and salmon were amazing.
Perfect for a night out with friends. Great food. Ambience is so nice. Will definitely go back
Informal bar in a basement. Reasonable selection of food and drink with friendly service. The atmosphere is a bit too bright and spartan for my taste but it was fine for meeting a former colleague for a chat with the music not being too loud. I had some chicken bites and then lamb chops, both of which were fine. Would I come back? Probably not ...
Great service and the curry rice was amazing!!!!! Will definitely come back again.
Food was delicious from beginning to end. Had the pleasure of meeting the owner Vincent and felt like it was an old friend. From their fried rice, to their fried chicken, to their tartar this is a must try. Next time I go I m trying the cocktails and other variations of fried chicken. Oh Apparently there is Jazz Saturdays, as if it could not get any better. If you re in the area pass by and check it out you ll thank me later.
the waiter gave me the most criminally offensive side eye ever because i asked for no ice in my drink
Nice place, but the quality of food and drink is very inconsistent.
Beautiful atmosphere, welcoming, helpful, competent and fast staff. The sweet potato fries are to die for. I recommend 100%.
Amazing food at really good prices. I also loved the vibe they have jazz night every saturday
It occurred to me that I have been going to majesthe for 5+ years and I have never once dropped a review for them. So let me start today. I love majesthe, ever since their original business was in my apartment s building complex way back when. Their food and owner are among the kindest I know, and you will never regret going there. The owner even helped take pictures for my friend on their birthday and improptu served my friend a cake with candles upon request (they don t normally offer this). The owner even helped edit the photos a little to make them less blurry for us. That is extreme kindness. And now I really want to pay that forward: The comments below are from a business whom now shares the building with Majesthe. I won t name it ofc because they sent me a threatening comment replying to my review of their business practices. I had to then remove my review. What did the review entail? It entailed me commenting on how that business (not Majesthe) TOOK DOWN Majesthe s signs (costing 2000 dollars) without Majesthe s consent. It now looks as if Majesthe doesn t even exist in that building. I posted my review of that business of my own volition after seeing what they did to Majesthe. I am a customer who doesn t like seeing big businesses take down smaller businesses. Sue me , cuz I ain t the owner or their family members or a worker there, just a customer who is fed up. Extremely unprofessional of that business to attack Majesthe (as seen below). Seriously, I m a customer who posted on my own volition, I m not associated at all with Majesthe, super unprofessional. I just don t wanna see Majesthe suffer at the hands of this other awful business. Just put back Majesthe s signs or TALK WITH THEM, why is that so difficult? Tldr: New resturant sharing Majesthe s building took down Majesthe s signs without consent, costing Majesthe money and is now acting extremely childish after me (a customer) voiced that that business wasn t in the right for doing so. That business is now attacking Majesthe after THEIR mistake.
Super cool vibes, great drinks and chicken
Delicious food, delicious drinks, magnificent vibes - what more could you ask for?
Excellent vibes. Great food. Fun drinks.
Dont listen to all the recent negative reviews (click the profiles and you can see they are connected to a neighbouring competitor who has recently been under fire for taking down Majesthes signs without communicating with them at all). These are unlikely to be customers, and their experiences are categorically unlike the incredible times my friends and I have had at Majesthe. It is an absolute gem of a spot. Everytime I have brought someone there, theyve been a huge fan of the food, the vibes, and the service, and have wanted to go back. Their fried chicken is the real deal and their drinks are fantastic too. I had a garlic beef rice bowl last time I went and that was insanely flavourful. Real customers know best and we LOVE majesthe :)
I went there for a date and I really enjoyed it! The chicken was really good and my partner who is really into bubble tea loved it! The staff was really nice! I would recommend!
I went with my colleagues during lunch time The food and the drinks were great and the staff was friendly
Everything is excellent and so beautifully served! Karaage Chicken is delicious!
Very nice, vegan and vegetarian friendly Asian fusion restaurant that have amazing udon and fried tofu. Definitely try their fried tofu udon and bubble tea. The atmosphere is really good and the staffs were really sweet. They accept credit card and debit cards for payment. On weekends and weekday evenings, definitely reserve before coming as it can get really crowded. I really enjoyed their food. Vegetarian options: The menu mentions vegetarian options. The menu however can be seen by using the QR code.
Fantastic spot for creative cocktails, cool snacks, and great hangouts! Vincent is super sweet and takes great care of his patrons. Great spot for a 5 a 7 or evening drinks!
We went there for the jazz evening and we loved it! Beautiful place, excellent food and the service by Zuedka was flawless. I recommend!
I ve heard about this place after seeing a post on Facebook and wanted to come and try. The food was really delicious and the oolong milk tea is so far one of the best I ve tried. They even have a karaoke bar for customers who want to have fun and sing. We didn t only enjoy our night with quality food but also with talented singers! Thank you Vincent for the lavender shots, we loved it!
Best asian food in MTL and really good drinks. 2 for 1 drinks on Wednesdays
This place is amazing! Good vybe, good food, alcohol and cheap ! Love it will definitely do my birthday there !
The food and drinks are great, the decor is lovely and the staff was also very friendly! Would love to come back and try more of the menu
Good food, I had Yaki Udon beef. The taste of beef was great! I was unfamiliar with the noodle the total experience was to my satisfactory! Met the owner! He recommended to come for dinner for a different menu. The price is convenient. It s near University. Fast-food is not my choice, so I would definitely come back again! Vegetarian options: I saw 2-3 vegetarian meals on the Menu.
The owner is killing it. I just saw it with my own eyes. Good food, good prices, good vibes.
Super chill place
Nice and quiet, food looks and tastes great Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options indicated on the menu Food : 5/5 |
I love this place. Highly recommended.
Vincent and his staff are just amazing hosts. A must in Montreal
Food is fantastic. Service is on time, The owner, Vincent is aware and present for his costumes. This place is highly recommended. Food : 5/5 |
Really fun place, good food, great staff. Drink menu was super unique and I wish I had time to try more.
Yummy in my tummy:)
Food is good, service is lovely, live music is nice, but the volume is a little too loud. Thought itd be a nice jazzy blues dinner night but with how loud the speakers are its more like Im eating at a club playing blues music over the speakers. Please tone it down
The food and the servers were amazing! I had a lovely experience and I would totally go back.
Thank you William for making us feel like home. We loved the food and atmosphere. We will 100% be coming back.
Best food in town!
Great service and great food! Definitely recommend it The braised pork rice was
Service null
First time visit and the foods are very authentic and extraordinary tasty. Very nice and cozy place for huddle of friends or aloneness. Strongly recommend
Easily the best experience we had while in Montreal and New England. Crabby patty was unbelievably delicious. Owner is super nice and had us try his truffle fries with our beer. Best fries weve ever had...no joke. Cant say enough great things about this establishment.
I love all the food, drinks and the atmosphere!! The service was superb and the food they recommend is just . Their lamb chop is insane and their long long island ice tea is to die for. They also do Jazz night which makes the atmosphere even better!
Went there for lunch, good space and service but the food is sub bar. The deep fried stuff is mostly frozen product, onion ring is 100% store bought, chicken taste frozen too, and not even crunchy. Maybe the bar is nice but food is definitely sad.
Joy the bartender and Justin serving made this an amazing and fun experience. Vincent the owner is giving his heart and soul into the customers desire for great food at an amazing price. Thanks again for your special time given.
Excellent all around
They have so many options for everything. I always try a different dish and they never disappoint! It comes with good portion too. Went to a jazz night and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Best bistro with Taiwanese cuisine!!
The Curry is to die for..
The food was pretty good. Ordered the salmon bowl, earl grey cheese cake, and fries. They have these high stool bar chairs that are very uncomfortable and tiny tables. Waitress took a while to come to us and we did not have our waters filled. The drink menu seemed interesting and it s definitely more of a progressive place with the universal bathroom and all. I honestly would have enjoyed my experience more if I were more comfortable and had better service.
The Taiwanese foods are really really really good And so do the cocktail My favorite resto-bar in Montréal
Dont be fooled, this place has great food. Great find. food was delicious. service amazing. would def come back and bring friends
So I m a Rural carrier and just found out they messed up all my footage for my dismount (even thought I put it in the mapping myself) 56 ft or more missing how do I get my back pay. Dietary restrictions: So I m a Rural carrier and just found out they messed up all my footage for my dismount (even thought I put it in the mapping myself) 56 ft or more missing how do I get my back pay.
I ate such a plate of salmon fried rice in a foreign country. It was so delicious and delicious that people couldn t stop praising it. It feels like you are in your hometown, which is an unforgettable experience.
Amazing food and good portions
Today I ordered chicken cutlet curry omelette rice, tofu curry omelette rice, and salmon fried rice. Everything was very authentic and delicious. It was the most delicious food I tasted during this trip. I highly recommend this restaurant. I will definitely not recommend it. Let you down~ The boss is super friendly and nice~ Highly recommended
Why does Montreal have such a delicious Taiwanese flavor? French fries, fried salty crispy chicken, and vegetarian omelette rice with Gary tofu. It s super delicious. It tastes better than we do in Taiwan. It s worth visiting Montreal. I recommend it. . The boss is also Taiwanese, very warm and hospitable, especially a Taiwanese.
This place has a nice speakeasy vibe with dim lights and music that was not too loud. The drinks were pretty tasty and Tristan, our waiter, was super friendly and offered a 5-star service. I would recommend you try their lavender shot and if you get lucky to have Tristan as your waiter, then you will be in good hands.
Really excellent.....Asian fusion cuisine! Wow!
Good food served quickly
The omurice with curry was delicious
Most delicious taiwanese food me and my boyfriend have ever had, the pork belly bao was to die for and the fried basil chicken was delicious. 10/10 would recommend. Will be coming back
All the dishes and cocktails we tried were excellent (Kalbi beef, Chicken Katsu curry, Lamb chops; Princess Peach, Summer is Coming, Cucumber Tea and Cherry Blossom Lemonade). The grilled meats (Kalbi, lamb chops) were among the best weve ever had and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for fusion cuisine in a nice atmosphere with friendly staff. The cocktails were on point and they all had their own personality. The pictures on the website are all accurate if youd like to see what the dishes look like. If you have sensitive hearing, try not to be seated close to the speakers as the volume can get a bit too loud on the evenings when theres a band playing. We will definitely be going again !
Great food and cocktails. Must try when in town. Personal favourite is the grilled mushroom. Lots of different great dishes to explore Vegetarian options: Grilled mushroom was to die for
Regardless of the fact that its a Bistro Bar, even though what i ordered was delicious i found the menu to be lacking in options
Amazing food ! Owner who really care about hospitality and what he brings to the staff and to the customers. Food : 5/5
Great atmosphere, Great food and great service, nuff said
Great spot for when you want to grab drinks in a quiet, more dark vibe bar, with good music. They have a good variety in snacks/ meals, which are very tasteful and served in good portions. They go very well with their cocktails menu. The staff is super friendly as well! I do recommend a reservation or giving them a call, since it s a small place and fills up fast, especially during dinner time.
A good place
Had a great experience at MajesThé Bistro Bar! Food was amazing, drinks were great and impeccable service from our waiter, who took the time to give us recommendations. The Baos were so good! Would definitely go back
Very good place to eat in the city center without breaking the bank too much. Service can be improved with a little waiting for drinks and clearing plates or glasses. Very good food.
Well located, right in the heart of the city center. The Wednesday promo is definitely worth it: 2 for 1 on some (delicious) cocktails. On Thursdays, it seems that there is jazz too. On the other hand, we came across a new waitress and that really impacted our evening. We had to repeat our orders at least 3X and despite this, there were errors. We specified 2x a life threatening allergy and asked about the menu. The employee responded to us based on feeling without taking it seriously. Then, they served us a dish full of allergen, before coming back in disaster about ten minutes later asking if the allergic person had eaten it. Without our vigilance, our friend could have died, it s serious. Otherwise, making the invoices was really long and arduous, even if we had taken the trouble to write him everything to make his task easier. We understand the challenges related to the labor shortage, but we really hope to have a better experience next time Dietary restrictions: Beware of allergies: one person in our group was served a dish full of what she is allergic to even though we took the trouble to specify this to the waitress 2X.
Hidden gem near McGill university Vincent and his team are very nice people a relaxed lounge / restaurant with tasty affordable higher end food live jazz on most Saturday nights dj nights venu also hosts special events .
Wow! The food, service and decoration of the restaurant was INPECCABLE! I would definitely go back!!
Great place, very pleasant atmosphere and service and the food and drinks are excellent. I recommend it to everyone!
Decent food, but very long waiting time to be served, and very rude waiters, we were not really well received
Absolute amazing service had one of my best experiences in a long time. Food was great and our waitress Amanda was social, bubbly and took care of all our needs! She suggested grape soju and it was the highlight of the night ! I have to say it got my super tipsy Will definitely be returning !
Loved the Jazz that was playing, the vibe of the place, the food and the unique drinks! Will definitely go again and thank you to Amanda for her service.
Ok i m kinda torn on leaving this review, on one hand i think everyone should know how good this place is so that they can stay in business and prosper, on the other hand i don t want this place to blow up cause i love how lowkey it feels. But that s just me being selfish, this place really deserves 5 stars. The atmosphere here is killer, such a relaxed lounge setting, decent snack options and aaaamaaaazing drinks. I ve started coming here often, and definitely plan on coming even more. Amazing choice of japanese whiskeys, boba cocktails, food etc. Come here, or don t nah i m being selfish again if you re reading this you should come here. Love this place, it s definitely the closest thing i ve found to the bars i used to go to in japan. Love it. UPDATE: I have been coming back here more often, the staff keep getting better, the food yummier, and the drinks tastier. The service is immaculate as always, the firey chicken is bombbbb, everything about this place rocks, but as i said don t come here like don t blow up this restaurant keep it low key ok? Also Amanda is the best at her job, she s amazing. Thank youuuu
Had so much fun here, will definitely be back. Great drinks, delicious food, fun staff. Very cozy.
Food was really good and our server was very nice! There was a jazz night event and it was a bit loud so we couldnt hear each other.
Amanda gave us great service! Good food and drinks and music!
When they form a suggestion from a friend and wow, that place does not disappoint. First, impressions at the place it was kinda tricky finding the place because it was the same path as another restaurant, but once u followed the signs. Wow, I was not expecting that much or a cozy place. Unfortunately me and my friends and I did go there a little late so we did not have time to buy their food. But their drinks are very good. I really appreciate the hospitality of the sever we had. If i remember correctly, his name was tristan. What a vib to this place and would 100% recommend. For sure coming back with more friends.
Cozy underground restaurant with delicious menu items! I really enjoy their drink selection. They had live music and the ambiance was great. We had the salmon tartare and karaage for the apps and they were delicious. Both the beef udon and the katsu rice dish were cooked really well. I definitely would come back.
Nice place and good food. Great service from Brandon and Amanda and Noah Food
A nice place to eat and have a drink. There were 5 of us and I think I can say that we all liked our dishes and drinks. There are groups that come to play. Nice place!
Usually such a cute place to hang out but beware random music events might be too loud sometimes (check ahead of time). I personally love their boba cocktails!!
Cozy underground spot, had wonderful atmosphere and great food, our server Amanda was amazing and made the experience so much better
Very pleasant staff, fast service. I recommend this place to have a good time with friends.
Its a nice location. I went there for an office event. Not sure if its representative, but the food and drinks were not especially good. The bubble tea inspired drinks they have on the menu are interesting but at least the one I tried was a disappointment.
Very cute hidden place under ganarada. Food was great, service was excellent, cocktails were delicious. Everything was perfect! We got the Kalbi beef (highly recommended), the pork baos (amazing), the special shrimp baos (delicious) and the three cup chicken (my least favorite). Go!!
If you re getting a main here please, get the Beef Rib! I was unsure what to get until my amazing waitress Amanda suggested it, and I do not regret trusting that piece of advice one bit. I d love to share a picture, but I could not stop eating once I started. Amazing service and food, great experience all around!
Ask for Amanda! shes super attentive, gives great recommendations and goes above and beyond!
No longer the go-to for Taiwanese Fusion. Been pretty loyal since the original bistro opened over a decade ago. They served amazing and innovative food when it started. A serious contender for Taiwanese Asian Fusion in Montreal. I secretly felt guilty consistently choosing them over others for Taiwanese, but their quality was incomparably good. After the first move, favourite items were removed and overall service, quality dipped a bit, especially ambiance dropped due to lack of interior design and plastic furniture. But thats okay.. its hard to scale quality and they still rocked food and some of their best dishes kept me going back. I always wondered if the owner changed but I never asked. Fast forward after the pandemic and with their third move to take over the space of their former downstairs neighbour (Atti), the ambiance improved thanks to inheriting Attis dark decor, although its very loud now. Unfortunately some improvement in ambiance came with a proportionally inverse trade off with quality and service. My waitress this summer called a sous-vide egg soft boiled, so I was surprised when it showed up. I explained to her those are two noticeably different styles of preparing egg. Her reason for not describing it properly was because most customers dont actually know what it is. Her attitude wasnt outrageously rude, but it subtly felt like she didnt want to be there, at least not at our table. I could forgive that because most people understand temporary jobs, and she was young and probably new and busy managing different tables. However, common sense says it was subpar service, plus it was a slight insult to my food knowledge, and an indication of how far the ball has dropped since the original bistro first started. The manager was smart about it when I suggested him to better train staff on the knowledge of their menu. As an apology they remade the main dish and took an appetizer off the bill (I was told the beef skewers would not be spicy, but there was a decent amount of chili on the marinade). I still left a normal 15% tip and waited till months later to write this review so its not easily tied to any date/names. But these days I hesitate to return and lament for the amazing bistro it once was. Its now a trendy Asian 5-7 spot, and thats fine to draw in new crowds for the bar aspect, but they lost sight of what the bistro aspect should focus on .. good food, and turned their back on long-term loyal customers. Dietary restrictions: Not good about indicating use of chilly for the capsaicin-intolerant. I dont remember if they were good at handling dairy-free but I just avoided those drinks or food items.
What a fabulous time we had in celebration
A real gem. Excellent food & great live music
The staffs are super friendly and nice! The environment and vibe are nice and chill, perfect for a bight out. Ordered some booze and they re pretty good. 9/10
Not sure if they even have Tofu Curry Omurice or not but the two times I order from this place, I ve gotten Chicken twice. Once on UberEats, and once for takeout. Somebody needs to get it together. Dined in once and it was so loud I could not even talk to the person across from me.
Funky groovy cozy bar, with rare beers, good food and live music every Tuesday
Enjoyed my experience at Majesthé! The staff is very kind and the food is yummy. Will definitely come back
I really enjoyed the meal I definitely recommend getting the pork belly Bao and the Taiwanese fried chicken
10/10 amazing classy establishment with delicious food at a VERY affordable price. The ambience is perfect for a date night or for a group get-together, as they had live jazz music on the Saturday that we went which was a surprise! Happy to have gone with my group of friends! Drinks were top notch, food was tasty, and service was extremely attentive. We were served by Brandon and Tristan and they were simply the best. Would recommend!
Best restaurant Ive ever been to in Montréal! Staff was amazing, food was even better. Vibes were immaculate, great place to get together with friends.
Nice variety of dishes, very tasty
We got lost, it s inside down the stairs and down another set of stairs. There s street parking. Friendly staff, nice service. It s a small place with some table and a bar. We only order drinks. We didn t get to enjoy the food but we will try again another day.
The owner of bar is truly exceptional. Their welcoming demeanor creates a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, making patrons feel right at home. What sets them apart is their remarkable responsiveness quick to address any inquiries or concerns with genuine care. Its evident that they prioritize customer satisfaction, and their hands-on approach adds a personal touch to the overall experience. Furthermore, the excellence extends beyond hospitality; the food at the bar is truly outstanding, a testament to the owners commitment to offering a complete and delightful experience for every guest. This dedication to both service and culinary excellence makes the bar a standout destination that I wholeheartedly recommend.
