My wife and I love this little restaurant! The food is excellent and the portions very generous! Its not the fanciest place but what do we like there?

You should make sure you tip if you don t the owner will threaten you to be kicked out and embarrass you in front of everyone! I was a loyal costumer for two years and today he yelled at me and my partner and said if we don t tip 15% we will be kicked out,(we already had plans so we didn t have any options), and keep in mind this is NOT MENTIONED!!! Will NOT be going back Ps: the toilets are filthy and the servants are very grumpy

Excellent meals in a pleasant setting! The cuisine was refined, full of flavors and freshness. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly servers. The atmosphere was friendly and modern, ideal for having a good time. An address to recommend without hesitation!

I ate here about four months ago. I am shocked to see so many good reviews. We ordered the food, which came out maybe 3 minutes later, clearly having been re-heated. Which could have been fine, if it werent for the food being absolutely disgusting. And it was such a generous portion size. I ordered the pad Thai. It was clearly not fresh and just tasted strange, it was extremely orange. I was the only one who ate more than a few bites of my food, only because I cant afford to have a meal out and not eat all of it. Everyone else hated theirs and could not eat. When paying, my friends left a tip, but me and my boyfriend did not. The server then demands a tip but from BOTH parties at our meal. So my friends ended up feeling pressured to tip AGAIN (we didnt know but theyre both super non-confrontational), and my boyfriend and I had to tip. And normally Im extremely pro-tipping, but the server was rude and the food made me nauseated. I am not picky whatsoever. This is the worst restaurant I can remember eating at in a longggg time.

Best General Tao

Been going there for three years, food is mostly ok but got overcooked gen tao for first time, and very rude and aggressive treatment from a waitress id never seen, over three years my major problem is the service, waiters are pushy and rude often, the food and decor kept me going, but last time was too much, but since im the problem im going to give them a break from me, i work hard for my money, its not to get bullied when i am a kind generous person on top of it....

If you are looking for something quick and affordable. This is the place, great for dinning in or take out. The general Tao is the best in the city.

Use to be a classic, still is good value for the price and great schedule close late all week... But the food taste is not as delicious as it used to be... Not delicious anymore but practical option if hungry late or on a budget.

im cantonese/chinese and i came with my non-asian partner for the first time to try this restaurant. we ordered two appetizers: (1) the crispy spinach (i had no idea what this was and curious to try it because he loves it), and (2) peanut butter wontons (again, not my thing and something i wouldnt order but he loved it). i had the beef chow fun and added broccoli (+$3) for veggies. i found that nouilles star was nice in that, it catered to both our palettes -- mine being more traditional chinese, and his being more westernized. the service was SUPER fast - all our dishes came out in 5 minutes, with generous portions. we finished the appetizers and went home with leftovers of the noodles. our total with tax + tips came to $39. definitely a spot to come to if youre looking for quick, tasty chinese food. although its staffed by cantonese chinese folks, its definitely more westernized than others. great spot for groups and families to share lots of dishes

Very good and inexpensive

The food is good and the portions huge, all for an extremely reasonable price!

The food was super nice (we highly recommend the sesame chicken), the dishes were VERY big (better to share) and good price. We went there as a family of 5 who eat quite a lot, we ordered 4 dishes as we saw they were big and left perfectly satisfied. They were incredible quick (less than 10 minutes) and super nice.

I ordered with uber eats tonight. It wasnt very good, skip this place.

Good food, but surface is not

Both my partner and I got mild food poisoning after eating at that place. Service is indeed fast, but Id rather it to take a bit longer and safer.

Its excellent and the portions are very generous. The cooks are very skillful and fast. The prices are very advantageous, its not expensive at all! Its delicious ;-) Update: Saturday August 3 around 8:30 p.m., I ordered a take-out Thai shrimp fried rice for a friend, and when it opened later they noticed that it was chicken. Go there if you want mid to mediocre service and ok food. The man waiting was rude, nonchalent and overall just seemed annoyed by everything. Mind you I dont have standards that high when it comes to service but this was something. However the prices are v low and the food came in less than 20 minutes. He gets verbal if you dont add tip even though its literally an option, must not understand that good service compensation is earned

Second visit. First time was about 2 months ago.at that time I would have rated the experience 4 star. Last night 4 of us went back. Seems like maybe the main cook had left. Food was terrible for all 4 diners. Loaded with undercooked broccoli Tofu dish which previously was succulent was dry and tasted like leftovers. My noodle sauce had wierd cheesy flavor. Another diner had seafood which was 3rd rate at best. No AC. Server was very nice. However another guy was extremely rude & disrespectful of customers. Constsantly shouting. Very very disappointing. Would not go back.

Well I dined here recently and the food was bloody awful , so bad ....I didnt even leave a tip ....the pad Thai tasted like KRAFT DINNER ...This is unacceptable !!! For the very expensive prices they now charge ....I expect much better than this .....and not much of a portion on my plate . I seriously doubt I will ever dine here again ......they just dont care about their patrons enough . Dont eat here!!! It Suxx now

I like this place because it s cheap and the service is effective. I definitely recommend the #69 The spicy fried shrimps it s definitely my favourite. The pad thai on the other hand isn t the best (personally). I also advise you to call 20 minutes before going to the place since it s often full.

PEANUT BUTTER CHICKEN TIME

Not 5 stars it s a 10 !! I came to this restaurant 10-15 years ago and Wow it has become even better!! All the dishes are generous and tasty Congrats to Joséphine, Wing and all the cooking Team ! If someone has a complaint please stay home, as you have no values. If anyone wants to complain, stay at home because you lack the know-how!! Wow, a wonderful birthday dinner for me!!

The staff were nice. Food was delicious . At the end the staff gave us fortune cookies.

Service was waaaaayyy below standard. No courtesy, no eye contact, nothing. Just push your meal to you at the table. At the end, a worker just came and shoved the card on the table and walked away. As soon as I tapped she reappeared and just took the machine. I gave zero tip because there was nothing to reward. I do not reward poor service. The food was ok, but we will never go back there. Our concierge at our hotel told us that the food was good but the atmosphere is questionable. He was right.

I used to grab the general tao from that place well over 13 years ago and it used to be one of my favorite Chinese eateries. 13 years later and the food is still amazing! Seems like this restaurant has paused time and prices (general tao for $13) and kept the great quality in the food and service. I was there yesterday and tried the general Tao (of course), some veggies spring rolls and beef and broccoli. Everything, and I mean everything was made fresh, tasted amazing and was just spicy enough. If you havent tried this gem yet, youre missing out. Will I go back? 100% yes!

The egg fried rice is just a bunch of plain white rice and one egg. Food came with human hairs included. Shrimps with poop still inside. Disgusting! Wouldn t buy never again.

They served me almost raw processed simili chicken in my soup. I emphasis the almost raw chicken. Made my meal absolutely disgusting. They get 2 stars because the broth itself was ok. Also, on the takeout side, the place is absolutely filthy. Never getting anywhere near that place again.

A great place to eat, good value, wide range of choices (>100), quick service and large portions. The food was tasty, the peppered pork was so good. It was pretty crowded but we were seated within 5 minutes and our order was taken in ~5 minutes after seating. The entrees come with rice, and the entree size is enough for two so Id suggest starting off with one to share and order more if still hungry.

Food is good for its price but the service is atrocious. The server gave us the wrong bill and even had the audacity to make us pay him the correct bill before giving us a cash refund. He kept cussing as he gave me the new corrected bill but the machine wasn t working properly either so I had to pay the split bill whole. I swear if I hadn t finished my food yet, he would have spit on it. Don t get the old guy waiter. His service is horrible. He can t even get the cash register to work.

Best General Tao in Montreal. The food is always fresh and have some of the best soups. The Cantonese Wonton is best on cold and rainy days.

Placed an order an hour ago for pick up and no one called, emailed or messaged that the food was ready. It was sitting there for 30 minutes, makes no sense as a business.

Nouilles Star is the place to be ! Cheap and good quality food. My friend and I ordered the specialty rice (shrimps, beef, chicken) and the general tao which were great for the price (payed 15 dollars per per person). The portions are huge ! We took half of the dish back home and ate it the next day (it was better). The only thing that bothered me was the shrimps, they were kind of cold, and the spices were lacking. A part from these details, I recommend you to go to this restaurant if youre a student searching for a cheap and good asian style restaurant (especially before a night out).

Food quality and value is good for a fast food asian restaurant. However, our experience was ruined by an unprofessional, inexperienced and rude waitress who clearly is unable to multi-task and that needs to learn how to speak to customers. When we asked to speak to a manager she refused and pretended to be a manger. Clearly that role is out of her reach at the moment and she will need a lot of training to come up to that level. I would only recommend this restaurant for takeout.

Tasty without breaking the bank

Came here with my mom she ordered Fried Spring Roll and Peanut Butter Chicken sauce and a side of steam rice all her food was cold she returned it and they just warmed it up in the microwave. Other customers around us was complaining abt their food aswell. I got Fry Beef Noodle that was hot no problem but I ordered an app Fried Dumplings and that was small not much inside and cold aswell. I will not come back and wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. Giving 2 star because my main meal was hot.

It was very late and we were lucky to find this restaurant. There is really a lot to choose from, all at very affordable prices. We liked our meal, we will come back.

Pre pandemic, this was my go to late-night food spot. Since then, the hours and quality have changed. I no longer find the good palatable and was really disappointed by my last visit. I understand that times are tough and will continue to support to hope that it one day returns to its original quality.

Zero customer service, zero food quality. Ordered a tom yum soup with tofu, it was all tomato paste and water. The most disgusting Tum Yum ever. Also tried the tofu curry. Cane in a HUGE dish, tofus were very old, not freshly done Nd the veggies and curry so tasteless. I left the dishes and told the waiter/ manager how awful the food is. He said he is not the boss therefore he doesn t care. It is what it is! .
