Store is closed in August for vacation, we will be back by September. The History of Dumplings As early as the Three Kingdoms period (220–280), dumplings appeared. Around the Tang Dynasty, dumplings took their present-day form, and were served on a plate as a dish. In 1972, archaeologists in Turpan's Astana Tombs found a buried wooden bowl containing a dozen crescent-moon-shaped objects, resembling today's dumplings (recognized by experts as the Tang Dynasty's "prison pill" ). From this, we know the tradition of eating dumplings was passed to the Western ethnic minority areas 1,300 years ago.
I recently had lunch with a friend at the Sunshine Dumpling House on Monkland Avenue in NDG, Montreal. For starters we had the hot and sour soup, which was excellent, followed by spring rolls, and they were very good as well. We then ordered a mixture of different types of dumplings, some fried and some steamed. The fried dumplings were a bit more flavorful, perhaps because of their seared bottoms. The décor of this restaurant is a little dated, but the service was excellent. My impression was that this is a restaurant really trying to please its customers. It’s certainly worth a try if you’re ever visiting the Monkland Village in Montreal.
The food is amazing. The portions are really good size. We got the pork green onion dumplings, bbq pork, a miso and hot sour soup. Everything was great. We got served by a sweet lady and the atmosphere is calm with peaceful piano music playing on the background. I would come here again.
Delicious food at an affordable price! The staff is super friendly!! :)
Incredible experience! Everyone was so nice and the food was delicious
Ordered the steamed chicken mushroom dumplings, and they were amazing! They came out hot and fresh. The stuffing was more than most places I've been to. They give you 15, but I was full by the time I had 10. The staff was super nice, polite and we were greeted with a smile everytime they brought something to our table. I will definitely be going back. This may be my new dumpling spot. So glad they are here in NDG.
My friend and I tried this place for the first time yesterday, and we loved our experience! The restaurant is small but well decorated, with some Chinese art on the wall and nice, chill music in the background. We got there one hour before closing time and were still given an amazing service by the owner, who is the most lovely lady. The food itself is delicious, and you can tell it is made with love. I do not understand the bad reviews at all, I would definitely recommend!
Delicious tasting dumplings!! Both fried and steamed are very good. I love that they are open until 11PM.
Just ordered take out and I gotta say, the dumplings are absolutely delicious! Large and packed with flavours. Their chilli oil is so SO good.

Food was very good and filling. We had hot and sour soup, dumplings, buns, kimchi and the fried bean paste sesame balls. Service was good and staff is very nice and attentive. The new owner opened in September 2024. The portions were big and the price was very affordable.

Fresh fresh fresh!
Overpriced, tiny portions and the chicken was vile and too salty. Tasted like baking soda. Stay away from this place !
