4320 St Laurent Blvd, Montreal, Quebec H2W 1Z3, Canada
Omelets, pancakes & early-day eats in an interior with exposed brick & eclectic knickknacks.
Unexpected gem! Gave this place a try (among several other breakfast/brunch options on the St Laurent corridor) and very happy we did! Great quality and value for breakfast, wonderful vibe/atmosphere, and the service was top notch! Definitely got the feeling it's a neighbourhood fave among locals and I can easily see why. Totally recommend!!
Service was exceptional. Ambiance was on point. The food….. felt a bit overrated and therefore overly priced. I’m a bit confused on why my bagel was so overly cooked. There was no chew to it. At least that’s how we do it in my home town. Maybe it’s a Montreal thing ?
Unreal food with incredible staff who are very attentive, make sure people are beyond comfortable, and the atmosphere is beautiful. Great food. Great coffee and other drinks. Great music. Will definitely be recommending and coming back.
Great service and great food! People are so nice and the quality of what you eat is top!!
We stopped by here just to get a coffee. Very nice people. This is where Leonard Cohen used to hang out, and that red stool is where he used to sit. When they renovated the place, they kept the stool.
I recently dined at bagel etc and it was fantastic! The service was incredibly fast, and the staff were polite and friendly. The 80's vibe added a fun and nostalgic touch. Most importantly, the meals were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!
Skidding through the Park of Portugal, we transversely approached this famous eat-spot, Bagel Etc. Once inside, quick attention and taken straight to a seat gave us a chance to get a look at the decor. What a grand place to get juices (mine, gracious grapefruit) and order a meal (mine, French Toast with bacon). Looking up, there was a classic tin ceiling, dark in its current form, as dark as the music man. See the pictures, and in one find the bullet hole (resulting from gun mismanagement by some angry girlfriend, further information not for publishing). It was nice here as the service was impeccable and not suffocating. Just the perfect atmosphere, given the place we were in and who was there before us ...
Visited Bagel Etc on Saint Laurent Street on a Saturday. The crowded ambiance and constant noise detracted from the experience. Despite a diverse menu, the food was ordinary, lacking any standout flavors. The coffee, unfortunately, didn't leave a lasting impression. Overall, an average brunch spot with room for improvement.
great service and food!
Excellent service Baroque decor to see! Music sometimes a little loud
Overpriced and the bagels are too dry. The potatoes that came with it were also not edible. Didn t enjoy it at all and don t recommend!
The best place for a breakfast in a cool ambiance.
A nice place to sit.
really feels like the portions have gotten smaller. a little expensive. otherwise yum
It was cold, rainy, one of those October mornings that makes you hate being outside. I walked into Bagels Etc., mostly for shelter. Ordered the Eastern European without thinking. The hot sauce woke me up, cut through the fog in my head. Service was quick, food was decent, place was crowded but not loud. Felt a little better walking out.
Food was good, service was below average, but the coffee...it was so weak we thought we had been served tea. Once we were finally able to get the attention of the elusive waitress, she served us another coffee...only slightly less weak.
Great, varied menu with awesome brunch, burger, salads, sandwiches and more. I regularly go back for the Huevos Rancheros, always with bacon added for that extra crunch/salty taste.
I wasnt too impressed with the salmon benedicts...the bagel was cold among other things. The squeezed grapefruit juice was excellent though!
just perfect, the waitress is very nice and was able to explain the different dishes and desserts to us, no waiting too long, very nice setting in a dynamic neighborhood, I recommend!!
Delicious shepherds pie. Management is fantastic. Amazing environment. The place has soul. Great place for a date, a drink, and DELICIOUS FOOD.
More or less a standard diner for classic breakfast fare; pancackes, eggs, bacon, etc. Very nice vibe and even nicer service. Apparently this was one of Leonard Cohens old haunts too, which is pretty cool to me!
Great discovery! The bagels are incredible and the lunches excellent
Very cool place but I was expecting smoked salmon worthy of Canada and it wasnt so pretty
Just meh! We ordered French toast, we got pancakes, which were very regular. We also got some turkey-potato bowl, you could make the same (or even better) at home. The beagle was good though. Food : 3/5
Very pleasant, very wide choice of dishes, very interesting decor, just slightly too salty
In the continuation of my ambitious quest to try every reputed breakfast spot in Montreal I come to Bagels ETC in the Plateau. This restaurant is open later than other brunch restaurants which is great for the late-risers. Lineups don t seem as bad here. The prices are alright. Food was generally good, some items better than others. The service deserves major credit, they are very friendly and personable. I complimented their stylish menu and the server introduced me to the guy that designed it so I could praise his work which was a warm gesture. The décor is definitely interesting, the large golden egg was what really got my attention. Quirky place that may not have top tier food but thoroughly checks off all the other boxes.
Good brunch spot. The Fairmount bagel Lox was good. This is cash/debit only.
Very friendly on the terrace, VERY good dishes on the menu and pleasant service. Good value for money Small downside, no hamburger on weekends and very narrow toilets.
Excellent food, service, and ambiance. I have to add that they serve the best coffee in Montreal. Most coffee here is too bitter for me. Im an Italian and I feel like I know my coffee.
The waiters and staff were so friendly! The food was amazing too
TO BE AVOIDED BY FOREIGNERS. They just take some specific Canadian debit method or cash, so you will just either pay extras at their ATM or lose time finding another way. And no wifi. Yes, you could read the little yellow sign in the entrance, but come on this is Montréal! Food and staff service is good though.
The place is very dirty. We ordered pancakes, but the batter was poorly cooked. They were inedible, and we left them untouched. We were seated at a dirty table. The smell was terrible; it was so bad that we couldnt even eat because of it. The service was also poor. It was obvious that we weren t enjoying our meal, yet no one came to ask why. When we ordered the pancakes, they charged us separately for each ingredient, to the point of charging $4 for the syrup and $7 for the inedible chocolate chips. The server was very insistent that we leave a tip, but at no point did she ask or care why we hadn t eaten any of our food. She was only concerned about the tip. I dont recommend this place to anyone.
Super nice experience on the terrace, their Mexican poutine is a must! And dont worry: not greasy or salty, not too spicy, really good! Its not a traditional poutine with fries but rather with breakfast style potatoes, fried/roasted, and there are beautiful vegetables like red peppers, and cut and seasoned tomatoes on top (like a bruschetta) very yum ! And the efficient and smiling service. To do again for sure!
Will definitely return to Bagels Etc. The food was chefs kiss. The person serving us was really great as well. Overall 10/10 experience. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options on the menu
Leonard Cohen
Their burgers and poutine are fantastic! The cocktails are excellent too, the Bloody Caesar is the specialty! The ambiance is beautiful!
Amazing place
Incredible place I loved their Deluxe formulas, it was very complete, I got value for my money. The staff is helpful and smiling
Ordered a filtered coffee at the cash and grabbed a muffin. He started to ring in my bill. $5.95 for the muffin. I said, wow, Thats a crazy price for a muffin. The cashier just stared at me and didnt acknowledge my connent. The cashier poured my coffee and asked if I wanted milk in my coffee. I said yes with brown sugar. He adds the coffee to my bill. I look at the total. $11.38 for a filtered coffee and a muffin. I look and see that hes even charged me $1.00 for the milk he poured, and I didnt even ger to choose the quantity. I immediately hit cancel on the debit machine and left the store. A muffin that costs the same privmce as a slice of cheesecake and extra fees for milk in a filtered coffee? Beyond the aesthetic of the toppings for the bagels, I was not impressed with this place. I will not be going back.
We had a lovely lunch, food was so good service excellent. A great place to enjoy! My new stop place for sure. Vegetarian options: We had the veggie burger & salad dill dressing , poutine de- alcohol beer it was Fantastic!
A very busy place..we found an outside table..the coffee was excellent.they refilled it if you wanted it..the bagels were delicious.in various options to choose from. The service was excellent..payment in cash or debit from local banks. .no credit card or international.. I recommend it
THE BEST BREAKFAST IN MONTREAL. I mean that. Been coming to bagel for more than 5 years - it consistently delivers amazing food, coffee and service. Authentic staff, beautiful ambience and genuine vibes. A must if you re in the city and wake up craving a delicious, hearty meal
What beautiful memories coming back for lunch at Bagel etc. this afternoon. I went there regularly at the end of the 90s, when Leonard Cohen was very often seated at the counter, he who lived just opposite the Parc des Portugais. The place is practically unchanged, with its typical colors, its moldings, its hob visible to all, and its little corner dedicated to Leonard Cohen (near the toilets). Simple but very good food, friendly and fast service, but above all, a warm place with a lot of history. I wont wait that long to go back.
I felt that this restaurant was loved by the locals. I heard that eggs benedict is delicious, so I ordered one that comes with a bagel. The large amount of potatoes was light and went perfectly with the eggs Benedict. It was 11am on a Sunday morning, but the place was full and there was a line. I was able to enter in a short time with good timing, but the atmosphere is so wonderful that I feel like I cant help but stay for a long time. I dont think Ive ever had such a wonderful breakfast.
Excellent
Never disappointed! Fresh, hot tasty food. Great service ! Authentic atmosphere!
Great portion for the price, great customer service & amazing atmosphere. Highly recommended
Cool spot with good food. Start super friendly and fun. Outdoor seating was great.
Might be a typical tourist mistake I made. Its stuffy and the service seemed annoyed. Got a bagel with cheese..with no cheese. Just a bagel cut in half with nothing on it. I asked and got three slices out of a freezer. Idk. Perhaps it was my fault. Should have walked a little further maybe.
Nice atmosphere in a cool looking spot. Coffee was not very good. Food was decent but nothing special.
It s a high 5 just the waitress don t know how to manage there time I just asked for water and waitress brought water to 6 other people who came after me took and order cleaned a table . And still waiting.
The lox omelet is very good!
The waitresses and servers we all super friendly and the food was AMAZING . Highly recommend them!
Beautiful place full of personality and charm. The service is attentive and friendly.
Such a great discovery! The decor and even the music immerse us in a retro atmosphere. We went early Sunday morning and the service was excellent. Beautiful homemade sauce for the eggs Benedict and the hash browns are exquisite. All at more than reasonable prices for copious portions. As the waiter says so well, everything is done with love and it s obvious well done to the whole team!
It s a second Montreal visit when I have a breakfast at this place. Never disappoints. The food is delicious, and the portions are generous. This time I brought friends and everyone was happy with what they got. A la prochaine!
i loved the atmosphere of the restaurant! went there for brunch with my friends. they have a good variety in the menu. i ordered their tuna salad bagel and it was tasty. my friend didn t like the potatoes too much.
Very wide variety of food! Very good service by our server AND the cooks were fast!!! The food was excellent for the 4 of us :)))).
A great place for brunch, opposite Leonard Cohens house!
A must on St-Laurent Street for a traditional lunch. The place is magnificent vintage and the service is always courteous.
Relaxed atmosphere which has its charm, but little service and when there is some, it lacks a lot of smiles. We feel like were too many customers. Damage.
Great brunch spot in the plateau. Has an old school diner vibe, with an open kitchen. Went with friends who had a classic breakfast plate, eggs Benedict on bagel. Portions were quite large and everything was delicious. Ordered a large latte and it was humongous! Be forewarned it s not a regular cafe large size. I will say the staff were very friendly, but a bit short on the Sunday we were there. Arrived at 11, waiting about 5-10 minutes for a table. It took a while to take our orders, but the food arrived hot. Will go back for sure, but will go earlier :)
Nice brunch place
Everything is awesome. Simon is a perfect chef. If you are not familiar with the foods, ask him for a recommendation.
Food was basic, but the atmosphere is where it s at. The feeling in there is vintage that takes you back to an old fashioned diner. One downside is cash or Canada debit only. If we wanted to use American dollars, it was the same dollar price as the Canadian, no exchange on it. We paid via cash using their ATM. Lines were long but it was good enough for a breakfast.
Definitely make this a stop when in Montreal! Amazing breakfast choices, great service and the old school diner atmosphere is spot on!
Huevos Rancheros on a bagel Do I need to say more?! Phenomenal breakfast. Look forward to seeing you soon! Food : 5/5
This restaurant has a great reputation but it seems they are resting on their laurels. The decor is vintage which is another way of saying that maintenance can be ignored and there is no need for anything modern, like wifi and credit card payments. The food is just ok. The best part is they use Fairmont Bagels, which are scrumptious, but the rest was otherwise ordinary.
Really cool looking place with great breakfast options and delicious bagel sandwiches. Service was super friendly, staff is efficient and kind. Nice little place to come with friends and/or family and wont hurt the wallet.
Excellent, best Hollandaise sauce made on site in Montreal. Avoid weekends!
One of my classic places for breakfast for years now. A childhood favorite. Great atmosphere, friendly service, reasonable prices and delicious food. A Must for anyone in MTL.
The best brunch.
Fast service, great staff, I recommend
Good but nothing out of the ordinary. Well served the breakfast & brunch combos. Cafe has refill. Good customer service.
Food is ok but not special. Waitress very good and fast
I visited this place on a Saturday, it was busy. But the waitresses were really nice and thoughtful. Food is excellent and portioned well, I could only eat 2/3 of my plate! One question though, place is called Bagels Etc. but they only had sesame bagels. Maybe they ran out of others when I was there? I dont know. But still it was a nice ecperi5.
The staff was very friendly but my 7$ yogurt was curdled and I really wish they didn t heat the lettuce in the breakfast sandwich. Very disappointing as I ve been to other locations and was really pleased with the quality of the products.
Very good breakfasts, somewhat limited menu, but nothing I ve eaten has been bad. Friendly staff, good service, great location. Leonard Cohen used to eat there, so that s enough to justify a good rating!
Such a great spot. The food is good, the servers are really on top of their stuff, and the space is just the amazing - its got that real vintage charm. I had the eggs benedict, served on a bagel, and my friend had am omelette with challah. Giant portion and the side potatoes are also quite good! Vegetarian options: There are some options like eggs benedict and omelettes that have no meat and theyre all good. Both my friend and I had meatless brunch options.
frequented by girls and guys and weird dogs alike, bagel etc is a pinnacle of what montreal means to me. i have had many a hungover brunch here and i have spent so much money on the $3 maple syrups here because in true canadian fashion i pay extra for the real maple syrup. multiple times i have come here twice a day for reasons that are purely coincidental and one time the employee saw that i was there earlier and that was embarrassing but its fine because we are all friends. also i didnt get that much when i went earlier in the day so its fine that i also went for lunch. the walls of bagel etc have heard so many discussions about love, life, and what it means to be human and i think that is beautiful. there was a period of time where i think i went every weekend for like 6 weeks and that hurt my wallet so much but it hurt my arteries more.
We were looking for a place to have breakfast and stopped here as this was highly rated. So disappointed. With so much reviews, our expectations were high, but this was not satisfactory! We got one of their specialties (Gershwin) and breakfast in a bowl, the food lacked seasoning and was just all right, nothing exceptional as the reviews say.
Coffee is not included with the breakfast and taste like water. Really disappointed with the owner response when told him about it. I ve been going for 20+ years and I don t think I will go back after that.
Great establishment for Brunch! Excellent and generous eggs Benedict! ~$30/person for a main course, a sweet dish shared for 3, a coffee and an orange juice.
Huge portions and lots of coffee
Your classic breakfast diner that specializes in bagels (not sure if they re their own or not). Tasty, standard diner food and diner coffee (which isn t amazing but pasable). The retro decor was really cool, almost like a Friend s vibe.
I had the tuna sandwich on a bagel with salad and dill dressing. It was really good. A special mention for the dill dressing on the salad. Nice decor. Very pleasant service. Even the chef brought us a dish and offered us a little chocolate.
without a doubt this is the best breakfast in Montreal, trust me. Nick is The bast
Super nice place with a great team! However, lack of space to sit properly, the place is too popular ;)
Great People first of all. on top of that, amazing food and great atmosphere.
A warm welcome and a hearty meal. I loved the atmosphere. I will make the detour again for lunch.
French toast and fresh orange juice is amazing!
A true institution projecting us into the 80s. Authentic and excellent food. Ive been going there for around fifteen years and nothing has changed, still just as good and the recipes are faithful. Try the Huevos Rancheros and their breakfast potatoes... A delight!!
Great but lots of people and noisy
Magnificent discovery this morning!!!
We had breakfast at bagel ETC. Only 3 letters to describe the experience WOW. Meal was great, atmosphere was nice and service was spectacular. A gentleman helped us and I believe that was the owner. He took his time explaining the new additions to the menu. What an experience!! If you are in the city, coming to here is a Must Vegetarian options: Menu is very rich and has wide variety of options
Nice!
The eggs and the bagel were delicious
The food it s great but unfortunately they are not prepared to receive international costumers. They only take Canadian cards and they were rude when they explain it. I told them that was a bite racist but they didn t seem to understand. (Judge your self). I went through their past reviews and they seem to have a history of rudeness. I ll never go back.
Service was pretty slow and our food came one by one. One coffee ordert at the beginning came well after we were done. Still, the food was good and the place quite cozy. I can recommend the egg Benedict (any of them) and the shakes.
Our place to go whenever we are in Montreal! wonderful food and great ambience!
A very popular spot, the cuisine is excellent and simple. The decor is really nice. To be tested.
Always a popular place for brunch. Classic menu, nothing out of the ordinary. Tendency to serve dishes lukewarm (3 experiments). The terrace would be more pleasant with parasols. Quality service.
Ive been going there for over 10 years, always a great experience, beautiful decor, a friendly owner, everything is good, the plates are plentiful. The pancakes are delicious, I absolutely recommend
Excellent brakefest and brunch at a reasonable price. The service is friendly and quick while the food is fantastic. They make some of the best brakefest potatoes and great crepes. In the summer they have also have a patio that is filled in the mornings though I never had any difficulty getting seated quickly.
Very good, beautiful terrace and great atmosphere! Big bonus on the service!! We said we were in a hurry when we arrived and everything was handled super well, our orders arrived very quickly, the team had a big smile! THANKS ! We highly recommend the place! Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly menu, warm atmosphere :)
Best place for lunch in town!! Always happy to come back to eat at Bagel Etc. Excellent food and very good service. I recommend!
Love love love this diner-cafe, so kitch! Ordered brunch menu and did not dissapoint. If you are visiting the city like me and pay visit her pls make sure to bring debet card as they dint accept credit card, but no worries they have atm machine on premises right after the entrance
Suggestive place, they only accept Canadian cards... otherwise you have to withdraw cash from their ATM...
My favorite diner in Montreal. Everything from the red booths, to the old jazz posters, to the large paper bag of bagels, the little name plates at every table, and the signed photos and CD s near the cash. This place I could not live without. I try to make it every weekend to get my fix of crispy bacon, fried potatoes, endless coffee, and to catch up with Howard! Everything on the menu if great and exactly what you expect. Their eggs Benny s are all superb, especially the ones with lox, and the blintzes are a treat if you want to try something other than a classic (which I would also recommend). The monte Cristo is the perfect mix of sweet and savoury, and the huevos rancheros really hits the spot. 10/10 everything about this places makes me happy and I am always left full of good food and coffee. Thanks to all the great workers of bagels etc!
great place for brunch. keep in mind you can only pay debit or cash.
Hands down the best breakfast bagel spot in MTL, the hollandaise sauce is made in house and it s the best thing ever!
Very good lunch restaurant, interesting atmosphere with all the retro decoration!! Excellent French toast!!
Came here because of it being one of Leonard Cohen s old haunts. Had the lox bagel sandwich with side salad. The salad was fresh and generously portioned and the bagel was delicious and loaded with everything! I got way more food than I expected on my plate and this was the perfect meal to kickstart my walking journey in the city. Very cozy atmosphere and lovely staff too. Moderately priced with nice ambiance - no wifi/AC on site heads up.
Kind, excellent food and typical place
Theres going to be a wait so just be ready for that. We randomly pulled up here after walking around and I MUST say food was fire. The breakfast potatoes were some of the best weve ever hard. BELT sandwich was also really good paired with french toast and waffles. Our server was grinding like he owned the place which couldve been true, but service was exceptional. Enjoy
Service was fine. Food was mediocre. Juice was fresh but not strained, so contained seeds. Nice patio. They only take debit or cash and no liquor license. Wouldnt return.
Best breakfast food on earth. Go eat here, you wont regret it.
Excellent location with fun decor. Wait staff was very nice and attentive. Food is fantastic and we ll priced. I would recommend this place to anyone. Will definitely be back again.
Food was great and the decor is fantastic. Staff are very friendly. Vegetarian options: Plenty of options Food : 5/5 |
Simon, the story teller, shared his stories regarding Leonard Cohen eating at his Bagel place and pointed us in the direction of where Leonard had his house...will never forget his kindness! However we arrived for a bagel when he was closing so to miss out but next time I am in Montreal will be sure to eat there...Jo New Zealand and Joan Australia
One of my favourite breakfast spots in Montreal. A bit pricey but worth it.
its the best. Lox bagle is my fav
Neat decor, super friendly staff and food was WOW. Portions were also huge! Fast service. Only thing is that they accept cash and debit only.
Loved this place, great service, great bagels, lovely people. We went both mornings we were in Montreal for breakfast. Highly recommended for Leonard Cohen pilgrims/tragics. Vegetarian options: Lots for a vegetarian to choose from Parking: Go early and its easy to find a metered park on the street
Unfortunately, this magnificent bar is one of far too many #dogsnotwelcome in Montreal. From my point of view, this is unacceptable in 2023, at a time of aberrant tolerance at all costs.
Coffee taste like water. Food was ok. Service was quick but then again potatoes were still cold and onions half cooked. Would not return.
Restaurant in the heart of the Portuguese district of Montreal, near the plateau, on the very lively Saint Laurent Boulevard. Retro decor that sets the tone, bagel specialty. Pleasant and fast service, good cuisine for a typical Montreal meal. Wheelchair accessibility: Restaurant on the ground floor, wheelchair accessible and adapted service.
A must-have. All the dishes are delicious, excellent service, Very nice restaurant and clean
Stick to the classics and you will have an enjoyable meal. Disappointed with the mushroom blintzes. They were more like mashed potato blintzes with a couple mushroom flecks. Food : 3/5
Really enjoyed our brunch here. I liked my chicken eggs Benedict and mocha coffee a lot. The atmosphere was very unique and the service was great. Highly recommended.
Excellent bagels.
Went in to have a light meal and coffee but the prices were insane. A plain bagel is $3-4 but if you want to add cream cheese it s an extra $3 for that? We were sat in this cute window seat which was fine but the neon sign that s directly beside you, is soo loud and distracting. The coffee was nothing special, and I was extremely disappointed that a cafe didn t have any Wi-Fi?
This was the first Montreal diner I had gone to. I have been back many times since! Such great food and atmosphere!!
Always a must-have among Montreal breakfast restaurants! Especially for the benedictine eggs and especially for the fresh and creamy cream which coats said eggs!
Consistently providing the classic brunch breakfast and lunch experience in the plateau. Noisy, but youre there to wake up!
Good bagels for a lunch break. Wide choice and generous plates!
The owner was so unwelcoming that I feel like I was treated with prejudice. Aside from lack of service (face to face from the owner), the owner told me this is not negotiable when paying the bill. Im not sure if this is a Montreal joke, but I definitely it was not a friendly one for sure.
Good service and good food, the portions are indeed generous. *They only accept debit or cash payments at the moment.
A magnificent place which deserves to be discovered, the welcome is very friendly with the waiter very attentive to customers. The dishes are good and plentiful! Beautiful place
Hard pass
Breakfast was pretty good!
A classic diner with a tonne of character. Apparently, this was one of Leonard Cohens old haunts and its easy to see why given the extensive menu, tasty food, friendly staff, and convenient location. It really hit the spot after a morning of shopping and exploring the neighborhood.
First time there, my friend brought me. I had the Monti Christo breakfast sandwich, Ive not had one in 12 years. I loved it, the right amount of cheese and ham, grilled to perfection all the cheese was melted coffee was tasty, service was professional. Definitely would comeback.
Lovely mgt and staff. CAME in for begal to go. Come to find out they really only sold sandwich and begal and toppings. We just ate at another eater that was lackluster in service (read my other reviews and find out). The owner / manger made us smiled and sold is a dozen begal at a nice price and offered us coffee as we waited. The scent of the coffee and food made me wish we ate here instead. And on our next trip to Montreal It will surely be a prime stop in the near future!
Nice jazzy ambiance. Attentive service. Dined here before years ago, still going strong! Vegetarian options: They enough choices to satisfy an ovo-lacto vegetarian, it serves breakfast and lunch menu.
Great place to go for excellent bagels. Really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend it
Looking for some great breakfast in Montreal? This place was one of the best and very nostalgic looking diners, severed delicious food and drinks and it was the best. They could improve on the service though, waiter was excellent and sweet but lacking a bit on some understanding and getting the order correctly. Otherwise 8/10!
A Montreal institution! Great atmosphere and good food at a reasonable price despite the reputation of the place. Bénés with homemade sauce, blintzes and other delights.
Excellent service, decent food, generous portion I think. But on the other hand, not accepting the credit card and forcing debit or cash is really annoying. Damage.
Sexy service Romie wow I loved the experience I recommend Romie
Came to Montreal from Ontario for a concert and of course we wanted to eat our way through the city. I had read that this was a staple for locals so we had to check it out. We both had classic breakfast and it did not disappoint! The portions were big, the bagels were so good, the staff are pleasant and the atmosphere is great! It also doesn t hurt to know Leonard Cohen frequented this joint. I can see why he loved it so much!
Excellent!! I loved the place and the attention.
Great place, my only regret is that it is not possible to order the hash browns without the onions. More onions than potatoes and undercooked. I hope that one day they will allow us to take them on the side. Otherwise everything else is excellent!
The owners are adorable! We feel like home! I will come back for sure :)
Eggs benedict are to die for. The place is very busy but still service is on point. A beautiful vintage setting. Been going here for more then 20 years and I will continue to go enjoy their amazing breakfasts.
Great taste, huge portion, super nice people. So patient with me since I was super confused with Montreal parking signs and rules.
Large meal ,
amazing food, prices, quantities, and wonderful service!
Best breakfast. Every time I am in Montreal, I never leave without getting breaky from here! Highly recommend
A picturesque and historic restaurant with amazing breakfast food and sandwiches. The rumors of the owner being charming and dynamic was true, very friendly and inviting. Will have to back to try everything!!!
Yummy and cute
Brunch at Plateau in Montreal, then visit this spot. After a short wait and without a reservation, we got a table for 3 people on Sunday around lunchtime. The service is very quick, attentive and friendly. The portions are quite large - no one leaves here hungry. Our favorite is the bagel with salmon, onions and capers. The other dishes we ordered were delicious. A cool location with a good atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.
Their hot chocolate is just amazing, one of the best Ive had. Good ambience as well.
Amazing place. Great breakfast, very nice and hospitable personnel. All thumbs up!
Most classic breakfast spot in Montreal
The best of all Bagels! The Hanover was just lovely tour like the waitress, extremely kind and Howard the little joke
Very average food
Excellent breakfast
This is what I call a real breakfast restaurant, hands down the best in Montreal, the food was so tasteful, big portion size.
Great breakfast spot and great atmosphere
Great breakfast, great coffee, excellent service. Will definitely be back
The perfect place for breakfast.
This is the best breakfast resturant in the whole country. We ordered the Romanov, its just heavenly. The cream cheese is just delecious, salmon is so fresh, the poached egg is cooked to perfection, the hollandaise sauce is a s perfect as it gets. (The bagel is just a bagel). One cant ask for anything more. Highly recommended must-try restaurant.
Unfortunately no alcohol license...
The joy of finding Leonard Cohen again. Magic. A wonderful boss
Nice place to stop for a bagel and coffee. Waitress was very attentive.
Great lunch!! Good service, friendly staff. I loved it
Was looking for a delicious traditional bagel in Montreal and was not disappointed! Generous portions at affordable prices and the service was excellent.
Simple but good. Friendly staff
