Breakfast and Lunch Diner.
Went there this morning on a whim, but truthfully I've been going to Cosmo's for years. 15 years ago, after exams at school nearby this was a spot where I would go for some comfort food. The food today is as great as ever! The classic dishes are the Creation and the Mish Mash (pic related) and those are what I would recommend for first-timers. The place has also undergone a bit of an overhaul. They now accept card, not just cash, and are available on Uber Eats. They also have merch for sale in-store! The vibe is always on point. Everyone there is very friendly and that naturally generates conversation. Overall if you make the pilgrimage to this NDG institution, you'll never be disappointed.
Great little hidden gem. Service was quick and very friendly. Really has an old school dinner vibe. Food was very good & well priced!
I had friends visit from NB. I was so excited that they were going to get to experience cosmos food. When we got there, we all agreed to sit outside as I had my 4 pound Chihuahua with me. My friends went in to order and we're met with " NO DOGS ALLOWED OUTSIDE" serious bro? I'd understand if I had a giant dog with me but she sits on my lap FFS. I've been going to cosmos since I was 16 years old. Never again. Instead we ended up eating right next door where the waitress advised me that I was more than welcome to sit outside or inside with my dog.. clearly you don't care about your loyal customers. If this has been with the old owners it would have never happened! I can't give a single star for this.
A great diner vibe. Not overpriced. Staff very friendly. Accommodating for English speakers haha! It was great. Reminded me of eating breakfast at my grandparents cabin.
Ordered their bagel and egg. Asked for over hard and specifically wrote "Egg very well done". It seems they don't know how to cook eggs as my egg is not cooked and is runny and has made the bagel soggy and gross. Waste of my money and its going in the garbage. I also asked for potatoes to be well done and some of them are raw and uncooked. Terrible experience. I won't be ordering again. Yuck.
This is a little hole on the wall greasy spoon when you need to recover from a hangover or just need that comfort breakfast. The creation sandwich is a must, the mishmash plate is exactly what it sounds like and is awesome! There is new ownership but this place hasn’t changed at all, this is an NDG secret, you gotta try it.
A small hole in the wall place. It was much smaller inside than I thought. The staff working greeted us as soon as we walked in the door. They were attentive and friendly. The food was good. Loved the mashed potatoes. Food came out quickly. Besides the place being old and needing some reno, it was pleasant experience. We walked out stuffed!
Tiny little place! 9 stools at the counter and that’s it. I felt lucky to get a seat here and it did not disappoint. A 40-year regular of this place picked up my tab as a welcome which was so kind. I didn’t get their names but the two girls working were phenomenal and so friendly. The meal was gigantic and delicious- get the Mish Mash! What a great place. Lots of other things to do in this neighborhood as well. An absolute must-stop when you’re in Montréal.
The best!
The epitome of GREASY SPOONS, in a world where everything if is premade and prepackaged Cosmos is not that place. They make it like you want it and you never leave wanting more. An institution that carries on the tradition and values of the Original owner. Food : 4/5
Long time customer. Was apalled at the drop in quality, and portion size. The best cook there was recently fired/let go . It shows. Food is undercooked. Portions have shrunk. Somehow double means you get three instead of two. Not going back. Food : 1/5
Nice, small, very few seatings. Wonderful place and great food.
Really nice place, a must, not a lot of space, but the wait is worth it!
Simple, no frills, no bullshit all day breakfast. Nice portions, great tasting and friendly staff.
This place is the best. The food is as good as always. A very friendly atmosphere where you can meet people while eating. I love this place and very highly recommend it You should really give.Famous Cosmos a try youll love it guaranteed!!! MishMash is best
A typical North American neighborhood diner! Mashed potatoes may not be a common shape, but they have their own charm!
A real place, with real people, in a way that has somehow went out of atyle with chain restaurants, but never should have. They dont make em like this anymore and they are a rare find; a real authentic diner where the staff works their posterior off for you, and you can see it, right in front of you, in a floor, thats worn thin of year upon years of sucessfull service. Best breakfast experience ive had so far in this city.
I come here every week.
Food was decent but they messed up my order
Use to be a great spot before the 2 girls left... Now...not so much... Just went there and left due to the terrible service.... I stood there about 15 minutes didnt get greeted, wasnt acknowledged the whole time.... I seen the counter lady/ waitress- Outside smoking a cigarette when i arrived... She came in didnt wash her hands.... Handles someones money, wiped the counter with a crusty rag, handles someone elses money WENT TO THE TOASTER AND TOUCHED THE BREADS AND BAGELS...MADE THE SANDWICHES.... Wiped down another spot on the counter with that same crusty rag... TOOK A FULL COFFEE PITCHER OUT THE FRIDGE AND PUT IT ON THE COFFEE WARMER... ....so coffees not fresh.... Handle another set of toasts and bagels... Sneezed.... Wiped her hands with the crusty rag... Make another sandwich.... I was not only disgusted but insulted that i never got greeted, the service was terrible the eggs on the stove were brown and oily... They were super busy i can understand being short staffed and rush hour..... But being rude and not acknowledging paying customers.... Not even greeting them.... Wow... While i waited to nit be served... i seen a older couple beside me paying the bill right down to the last cent to avoid tipping the waitress... I would get another counter girl because her rudeness are going to cost u alot of customers... You cost me and my family.... I go there with my 4 kids and husband often.... And i wont be going back until you hire someone who knows how to... at the bare minimum greet customers, AND WASH HER HANDS BEFORE TOUCHING FOOD..
best Canadian diner. quote me. delicious coffee & bread selection ... & the homefries mmmm! but the camaraderie & conversation are why i greatly anticipate my return to the Famous Cosmos get there early to get a good seat!
Salami sandwich for 6 bucks!?!? Willensky eat your heart out.
5 stars isn t enough though
Good food chef Dminic excellent
All around 1st time good experience, everything I expected.
What happiness! The inspiration for this title I received from my mother who was standing in front of the window, contemplating her garden. This is the implementation of his vision where each flower and foliage occupies the place that suits it, creating a harmonious and soothing visual field. Seeing that her new hosta was growing and filling a vacant hole left by daisies left underground, she sighed: What happiness. I too, at Cosmo, felt happiness. The absence of worry, the pleasant company of my friend K. this endearing being with a pretty face , the perfect thermal sensation on the terrace, the tranquility of this corner of rue Sherbrooke, the modesty and authenticity of the premises and, needless to say, the 100% tasty and 0% expensive lunch: a graceful scene creating an idyllic moment in which I began to float like a cloud. The establishment of Cosmo in the Monkland village is not new. You will see this when you notice its sign, rustic and faded, its cracked stools, its wall of memories, reminding visitors of the era when Tony Koulakis then Nikos Koulakis were busy feeding their customers. Since then, the owners have changed, but fortunately the menu has not. So, by setting foot there and opting for the Mish Mash omelette and the Creation Sandwich , two of their most popular dishes, you dive head first into the past; what many modern café-restaurants try to recreate as a retro atmosphere, you have it here, in meat and bones. Poc! Poc! We knock on the window with a stick, this is the signal that our meal is ready to be picked up at the counter. At less than $15 per person, we had two hearty plates at our disposal, each with unlimited coffee (which I happily had with a little sugar and milk to reduce the bitterness) and their potato pancakes. The latter, enjoying a reputation for being crunchy and tasty, had brought glory to Tony, affectionately nicknamed by some the god of potatoes . Unfortunately, without knowing if it was a question of perception or batch, ours did not seem to correspond to the description of crunchy . However, their lack of character was saved by the delicious Mish Mash omelette, plump and enhanced by the inimitable sliced cheese, and the crisp Sandwich Creation, housing a perfectly cooked fried egg, bacon, lettuce, tomato and , that goes without saying, cheese. My cholesterol just had to watch out! As I finished the lonely potatoes, quietly not quickly, I listened to K. move from the subject of taxes to that of childhood, through the challenges of immigration and the difficulty of meeting helpful people. I then briefly saw an adventurous little pavement ant slip into the pocket of his shirt, looking for food... and I remained without saying a word! This constitutes, in hindsight, the most disturbing element of this anecdote. We don t often say: Hey! you have an ant on your shirt, but we can easily conclude that it would have been the right thing to do. Could it be my lack of sleep that got the better of my chivalry? We were just discussing learning about life, experiences that make us more mature and wise, and I intend to make an honorable mention by never letting goofs freely invade anyones private space again! We must do to others what we would like others to do to us! And I like to be recommended good restaurants, so I wholeheartedly recommend this one, because, although the approach in English only during my visit has the capacity to displease, I found the Cosmo delicious, very endearing and not expensive at all. What happiness! Vegetarian options: Eggs, French toast, but dont rely too much on a plant-based burger. Parking: In Sherbrooke, with parking meters. Free on Draper, a street which must be accessed from the north. Kid-friendliness: Yes, especially on the terrace. Wheelchair accessibility: If you are eating outside and have someone who can order for you inside.
Love it
Love this place, I have been going regularly on week days. Michelle is the best cook, what a difference when she is there. Hope she is back... Food : 5/5
Amazing filling food at very affordable prices
100% legit
Great diner experience. Great breakfast and amazing burgers. Service was phenomenal. Thnx Mark for the great hospitality and service. For sure will return.
Its the kind of shop that made you feel like you are in the good old days. Food are fantastic. The service are outstanding
ZE Best
Been going there for over 40 years.
Great place good grub fav spot near the library
Wow!!! This was such a great place! The service was friendly and just amazing! The food as delicious, hot and i left feeling stuffed! The kind of place i would eat weekly!!
simply the best
Always the best breakfast!
This reminds of what Montreal is all about. Cozy, great vibes. Breakfast prices are like the good old days. You feel at home here. I really enjoyed my breakfast with the sunnyside up eggs in the bagel.
The famous Cosmos, been around longer than I have. The decor could use some help but the ambiance and food is still very good and better priced than most of the other breakfast places! The cook was pleasant to talk with and made the breakfast very enjoyable. Dinner seating only.
The coziest breakfast place with the best food
A very small, old and dirty place . The food is good but the service and the place itself are poor. Only for a 5 min rapid breakfast
I ate at Cosmos almost every day for years during the late 90s. I gradually went less and less often over the years around the same time that Tony was working his way into retirement. When Tony died, I stopped going. When I heard someone had bought the place, I had mixed feelings. Could new people really keep the place that I knew so well alive? Im very happy to say that they did. The woman at the grill (Tonys spot) would have made Tony proud. I ordered my usual and it was just as I remembered (though maybe a bit smaller portions as I used to benefit from regular privileges like a free 3rd egg). In any case, lovely experience. Same neighbourhood vide. Same great breakfast, and the famous potatoes, just as good (though missing the ash from Tonys cigarettes). Ill be back soon for another taste of the good ol days!
When my husband and I started dating, I told him I know a spot and took him here. He says that s when he knew I was the one!
Famous hospitality at Cosmos.
Tasty breakfast sandwich. Portions arent what you would expect from a greasy diner, barely any hash browns. Maybe it is better for dine in.
Very lowkey diner with counter seating and super delicious food. So delicious!!
Havent been here in a while but the food & the service is just as good as ever! Being able to join in the conversation with other patrons... PRICELESS!! & part of the charm of this place!! Thanks for making my trip downtown totally worth it!!
Great spot for brunch after a night out drinking.
Okay.
It s very good, but it never opens at 7 AM
Casual lunch restaurant, very affordable. Good portions and excellent potatoes!
Cosmos, a quaint breakfast place in Montreal, is a hidden gem that offers great value prices, amazing tasting breakfast, good portions, and a rich history that they embrace. From the moment you walk in, you feel a warm and welcoming atmosphere that instantly sets the tone for a cozy breakfast experience. The menu at Cosmos is diverse and offers a wide range of options for every taste bud. The good morning burger is a must-try, and the fluffy omelettes are simply divine. The portions are generous, leaving you feeling satisfied and energized for the day ahead. The prices are also very reasonable, making it a great spot for a budget-friendly breakfast. What sets Cosmos apart from other breakfast places in Montreal is its rich history and tradition. The restaurant has been around for years and has remained a family-owned business even after changing owners due to tragedy throughout that time. They have embraced their heritage and the history of Montreal, making it a place where locals and tourists alike can experience a taste of the citys past. The decor at Cosmos is also a nod to their history, with posters and photographs adorning the walls. Its a charming and nostalgic touch that adds to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. The service at Cosmos is friendly and attentive, making you feel like part of the family. Will talk to you in French or English so great for tourists. The staff is knowledgeable about the menu and can offer recommendations if youre unsure what to order. Overall, Cosmos is a fantastic breakfast spot that should be on every foodies list when visiting Montreal. With its great value prices, amazing tasting breakfast, good portions, and rich history, its a must-visit for anyone looking for a truly authentic Montreal experience.
Just take the Mish Mash, youll know why this place is so good.
Hole-in-the-wall greasy spoon. Peter made an excellent Good Morning Burger (beef, bacon, cheese, fried egg, lettuce, onion, tomato, mayo) and Michelle(?) was a great server. Will be back! 5 stars
This is a real breakfast
Excellent service!
Damn fine burgers & amazing breakfast. Or have a burger for breakfast. This is one of those places where you have great conversations with staff & customers every time you visit. Its well worth a visit. Food
Limited seating, unlimited vibe. If your in NDG, it s the place for breakfast.
Great tasting and authentic!!
My godfather brought me here as a child and a few times as an adult. This was my first time back since he passed, and I was immediately flooded with memories of dining at the counter and the most amazing hash potatoes you can imagine! Absolutely loved the food, the dose of nostalgia and being able to share both the memories and food with my boyfriend! Thank you!
Excellent food and service. Clean old school atmosphere
The new owners seem to be handling it well. I still order a Creation on rye, hold the fries. Maybe I should try a different bread one of these days :)
Can t believe I forgot to rate this. Obviously 5 stars. Can t miss it.
Its not like it used to be original thanks
Small cozy old school diner with a dozen stools on a shared counter. Great conversation with the waitresses and other clients. Great food, homemade feel. Wheelchair accessibility: None.
The food was absolutely amazing and the prices were very good. Everyone is very kind and it s a very warm/inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend!
Simple in the best possible way. Never disappoints, with old school food.
Remember shows from the 80s like Cheers, where everyone knows each other and the staff know what you want before you even order? Cosmos is one of those dying breed of old-school establishments. It seats 9 people max along a L booth table; you order your breakfast, and it comes with potatoes smashed in butter and salt. If you order bacon, youll get 3 slices; I asked my vegetarian partner to order bacon with his eggs so I can have double. As you can imagine from my plate in this photo, there was delightful regret. Conversations, like eating there, are often communal and spontaneous with comical personalities.
Friendly staff and excellent service (try to avoid peak hours though). Classic western breakfast fare, some interesting creations. Fantastic hash browns for generations.
If youre looking for an exceptional greasy spoon breakfast, this is the place! Dont come here counting calories....just enjoy
Great breakfast spot quaint and delicious .Servings are generous . Service is excellent and the price is great
A great restaurant!!! Best affordable and delicious breakfast in town. Fun loving staff. Go!
A lovely find in Montreal! Love the local style , food is reasonably priced and tastes amazing !
I remember the first time I sat down at the counter, and was greeted by Nikos. Being super hungover at the time, I ordered two eggs, salami, bacon and taters. Best breakfast, that Ive had ever. Sad to hear about Niko passing, I had many a great conversation and hes always give me an extra egg. RIP brother.
really cozy old timey diner with food and service that was exceptional. Im only visiting Montreal but would easily come back here regularly if I lived here. was served by Shilat and food was prepared by Michelle. had a great experience and enjoyed the endless coffee. generous portions for the price too!
Felt right at home and had a delicious meal.
The breakfast was delicious and nostalgic. The food is obviously made with love and no prétention. The Price is fair and the staff friendly and endearing. I absolutely recommende. Food
Not the same since they changed hands and Angie left.
Amazing Greasy Spoon! Its very much a hole-in-the-wall gem! The staff were awesome and talkative, and the food was great and very affordable! Kid-friendliness: The staff loved the fact there was 3 babies in the building at the same time!
This is an official old school Greek diner. The food, the staff just the best.
Best breakfast food for an even more amazing price.
First time ordering here and not the last! I ordered a bagellah with extra bacon and it had at least 7-8 more slices. Delicious and appreciated.
Very cozy place and warm people. One of the best breakfast in Montreal for sure! Love the mish mash and the creation A montreal staple for sure and a very homey vibe. The Famous Cosmos makes you feel like family right away as soon as you enter. The food is made with love and is the best hangover cure.
This is the best greasy spoon diner I ve been to in Mtl. Such a simple menu, but for a simple breakfast the food was so good! Can t wait to come back.
Try the Creation! It s awesome!
Probably the best breakfast place in NDG
AMAZING
Nice little place to get a quick breakfast!
The best breakfast
Best lunch in town
My money speaks French. Damage.
Classic
Excellent small diner experience. Excellent food, and friendly staff. Always a top recommendation.
I had the good morning burger and Mish mash omelet. It was alot of food. The hash browns were a must get. Im a massive eater, if you want a great breakfast burger get it with hash browns. 1 friend has the Mish mash omelet and other the good morning burger. They were left happy. The coffee is great and the talking isnt evasive. They leave you alone if you want to be.
Best place for breakfast in the world very friendly people good service fast service and friendly service
Always the tried tested and proven formula, going strong. The familys golden dream, now in the hands of new entrepreneurs hasnt skipped a beat and has added a lot of services to provide access to their great, greasy breakfasts! :)
We were on a sightseeing tour and were tired from our drive. We ordered Della Casa spaghetti, 1 of which was gratinated. Great disappointment (but the waitress did not deserve us to comment on the spot). We had the impression of having leftovers from the big tourist weekend in Quebec: too much tomato sauce, very spicy, noodles cut in advance (weird). We paid our $52.89 and still left a tip for Noémie, who was so charming. We will perhaps return there between Thursday and Sunday to have fresh products...
Excellent service. Very friendly waitress Exquisite potatoes Good value for money
Classic diner with great food and history. The new owner keeps the place clean, and is super nice A must try if you are in Montreal!
Great food, very slow/no service. I waited over an hour to get my breakfast order. I think it they might have forgotten about it. When we did get the food it was very tasty however.
Hole-in-the-wall breakfast brunch and lunch spot for those who want a friendly, casual and affordable meal. Highly recommend the creation sandwich, and fantastic spot to cure a hangover!
Cosmos is nothing else if not an institution. Its been a staple of the community for ages and continues to be the best diner in the neighborhood. Its a low cost, community restaurant, usually run by just two people keeping it together. Its not a place you rush in. Its a place you come in, sit down, have coffee, conversation, a nice creation sandwich, and you leave not just with a full stomach but with a happy heart. I go to Cosmos weekly and I intend to keep going as long as it feels like the diner where everyone knows your name.
Volume! and very Cheap!! nice atmosphere! 100% English. Sandwiches with tasty potatoes and coffee, just $10. Very satisfied! Vegetarian options: Able to pick Vege sandwiches
Very slow service. I saw only 2 employees serving way too many people.
I m a regular, which might kill me eventually, but worth it. I say this because obviously fried things are bad for you, and they know how to do that very well. After changing hands just before COVID, the new owner has changed very little; He removed an eggtraneous (egg puns) fridge, and added an air conditioner, the food has remained eggcelent (yeah I did that again), and the staff are great! I like my potatoes well done, but you can ask for them however you like, and if for some reason you wanted to, you can order a tuna sandwich if you ve egghausted (yes again) your egg quota for the week! Still affordable, no reservations, tight space, welcoming and lovely community vibes.
Best greasy spoon!
A hole in the wall for homemade style breakfast/ brunch. Theres only a bar that seats maybe 10 people max. Good food.
its a revolving door for loonies. if you like the eccentric and the eclectic then its the place for you. the foods great too
My new favorite breakfast spot. Tiny. Eclectic clientele and staff. You wont ever leave hungry!
Good to be back at Cosmos. New owners keeping the spirit alive.
Greasy little diner with lots of history. This is not where you go for a granola bowl. Famous for their mishmash (potatoes, onions, bacon, salami all mixed together with a lot of margarine on the grill served with an egg on top) and for their creation sandwich (eggs, bacon, fried salami, mayo, lettuce tomato served on a choice of bread). Expect to be touching elbows with the locals that attend this spot since its close in-counter seating only. The service is quick and friendly. Great selection of bread and hot sauce to accompany your breakfast. Expect a wait to be seated, Cash only, metred street parking.
Super small friendly breakfast spot.
very different since the restaurant was sold the portions have decreased enormously the prices have increased unfortunately I do not believe in the survival of this restaurant
I love this place.great prices and great food.wonderful staff. If you are in the ndg area great place to eat.
The food is amazing, and the workers are very polite!
the food is amazing i love eating here on my cheat days.also very polite and welcoming staff.five stars.
Greasy goodness
Very Poor customer service
Just ordered 3 plates on uber eats. The order arrived and there was only 1. Unreal
Ill be honest. NOTHING can beat the original owners. Wether it was Tony behind the grill with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth, or his kids Nick or Nikki running the kitchen on alternating days. The new owners do a great tribute and a great job upholding this NDG institution. I just had a creation delivered, and while there was a little something missing, it definitely satisfied the Cosmos craving. It would have been a shame to see this restaurant close. Ive been going here for over 20 years.
This is place made me think of the Ugly Duckling story. With the great reveal being how delicious is the food and the service.
Great food. Laid back, fun environment. Neighborhood treasure
Look the food has always been good , but unreasonable wait times and very unprofessional staff was a complete turn off from a place I loved to go to sad really as I am one to support out local businesses but tno longer this place
Best breakfast in the city
I used to love this place back in the day when Tony was at the grill but alas it isn t the same. Ordered my favorite, the mish mash but I basically got an omelet with home fries. Fairly good but not the Cosmos that I love
Quick and simple, but tasty breakfasts renowned locally for their greasiness and low prices.
Divine food amd great people :)
Such friendly and homey vibe. The staff there is great! The food is delicious! I highly suggest the Creation sandwich! Very reasonnabke prices!
Lovely atmosphere and great company.
Pathetic.
Always best breakfast
Very expensive
Be warned! you do not come here for a healthy meal. You come here to get your arteries clogged, get higher cholesterol levels, a potential heart attack and of course some great food, thats defiantly worth the risks. Inside there is seating for maybe 10 people max, the owner Nick is character, he makes sure you leave with a full stomach and a smile. I would recommend the creation sandwich and the mishmash, I do not know what they put in there, but its damn good!
Very Montreal! Small place with home cooked great food
The absolute perfect delicious greasy breakfast! Small family business feels with a place that seats no more than 15, it was nice to see the family-like dynamics between the regulars and the owners. Great food, great price, definitely coming by again next time im in Montreal
Potatoes potatoes potatoes
Its world famous breakfast. Mish mash will live on forever here. (now a house omelet) Beauties has nothing on this place.
Truly heartwarming!
Absolutely loved the mishmash! My new favorite bfast spot.
Great greasy food
Been coming here for a couple years now. Great spot, great breakfast and great service
Another one of those When in Montreal.. places. The BEST place to go the morning after a night out, hefty breakfast that will not leave you wanting for more!
You have to try everything on their menu
Good breakfast + good vibe!
Has good food.
Very good, simple but well done lunch.
great spot.
Gotta have the Mish Mash when eating here!! ima go back fer sure !!!
Long-standing institute. Run by daughters of the legendary late Greek owner. This place is not the faint of heart or healthy eater, but it totally worth it.
Ive known the place for over 25 years and its been around even longer. The place is tiny and the design is totally stuck in the 70s but dont worry, your dining experience wont be affected at all. If we have a regular breakfast (eggs, meats, potatoes, toast and coffee), NONE, I mean NO lunch place is capable of doing better. Period ! You will never have found that your eggs/bacon are so tasty! My advice ; 2 eggs with bacon and salami, potatoes and ask for their Russian bread, delicious! Coffee itself has something mysterious, it s so good! It is SO good that I have NEVER been able to order anything else like; Their succulent breakfast sandwiches and Their famous cheeseburgers!! By the way, their reviews are rave too! P.s.: the lunch mentioned above only costs 13 dollars. Personally I would pay a lot more but dont tell them!
Went to Cosmos this Sunday and I was incredibly impressed. The new ownership has done everything to sanitize the greasy spoon to even the most discerning customers. Going as far to tell my friend that if hes not sitting at the counter (eating) he must put on a mask. With that being said the food was easily as good as Tonys last BEST CREATION. Without going into great detail Ill say this....... Ive never seen eggs so perfectly COOKED that, if you stopped cooking them 1,2,3 seconds earlier... theyd be well UNDERDONE. BRAVO
One of those special places that makes Montreal so unique. Best breakfast ever.
Still open! Still great! Keep it up!
Very unprofessional staff
Great Grill Cheese.
The food is ok and the service is miserable. Go here if you like getting yelled at by an old man.
Death by breakfast cholesterol, but so good, and a Montreal/NDG institution. Cute old fashioned diner.
The best place for breakfast anywhere in Montreal
First time visit for my boyfriend and I this morning. As to be expected for a Sunday morning, the restaurant was rather busy, but we managed to wait a short while to get a table outside. After getting the menu from the front counter, we placed our order and waited for our meals. Id say it was perhaps a 20-25 minute wait for our meals, which was reasonable. The portion size is good for the price and we now understand why this place is so popular for breakfast, it was a cool old-style diner experience! A tad on the greasy/heavy side, but would make for a great outing. Important note: CASH ONLY! Thanks!
Theyre simply the greatest.
One of the last of the great old school greasy spoons. A must visit if you aren t on a restricted diet.
Best breakfast in Montreal. Theres a line, but its worth the wait to eat those scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage, smash potatoes and warm bread with jam.
The food is good and will be back sometimes in the near future.
Just a staple breakfast joint thats packed every second of every day. Kind of a best kept secret but everyone knows about it lol. Mish mash is life. Choosing your bread is honestly a hell of a decision.
The scenery, according to their standards, was delightful.
Its a small shop, the owner is very friendly, and the creation sandwich I ordered is not delicious. Good choice for brunch
Always good....
Sad to say but after seeing Nick SMOKING A CIGARETTE WHILE hes cooking my food INSIDE the restaurant NEXT to the stove my food is on, Im not eating there again. I dont know about health regulations in restaurants but Im pretty sure hes been breaking a few, like molding your raw burger patties with his bare hands that just held a lit cigarette. This place is not for your health.
The Mishmash or The Creation are staple NDG breakfast meals. And those potatoes! Yummmmm Do expect this to be a calorie-heavy breakfast though. Great for hangover mornings :)
Exactly the kind of place I ve been looking for to enjoy a fantastic breakfast! Nikki and Angie were great and the food!??? Amazing! The mishmash! Wow! 5 stars here!
