The atmosphere makes the whole place. And I don't just mean the décor, I also mean the people who work there. The customer service was more than amazing. The barista/waiter was incredible, so attentive, and our food was just absolutely inscandescently sweet. For the sweet tooth lovers, this will %100 hit the spot.
This spot is so much better than the 4.1 that seems low on the typical scale. We came to Montreal on a food tour and stopped for a brunch. The cottage cheese protein pancakes were so good and we loved the space. Very friendly staff and I very much recommend it.
So cute !! The Greek Goddess salad was delicious, so fresh. Our server was super nice and welcoming. The gluten free bread is good and there are a lot of gluten free options 🤗 Delicious fruits and fluffy pancakes.
The texture of the cheese pancake is a bit strange to me. It’s pretty wet and sticky, which creates the feeling of being undercooked. Service is good and friendly. The space is a bit too packed; tables very much close to one another.
super cute place for breakfast with great ambiance and a nice selection of drinks and food suited for everyone’s taste!!! we got the maple pancakes and a fried chicken dish and they were delicious! maman is a lovely breakfast/brunch spot
This restaurant has a location in the US in Washington DC and it was one of favorite cafes. Very nice, high quality. The pastries and baked goods are top here. I had the pain au chocolat and it was a bit wetter and more filled than a normal one. Great ambiance and place to have a date.
Cute cafe with a really nice decoration. The cup is super cute. We ordered iced latte. There are choices of pastry to choose. Good to chill out.
A must go to if you are exploring Montreal! We went for brunch and the breakfast sandwich was to die for (first time having bacon jam - wow!). I absolutely love the vintage atmosphere and the plants just make it feel so much more lively. The salad was simple but so fresh!!! Loved the food and the experience. Staff is very very friendly!
Delicious pancakes!
Had the French Toast with mascarpone, sensational. Service was great, the vibe is great, took some cookies home with us, they were fantastic.
Meh
Great Latte coffee. Best choc chip cookies. Food
I had a very delicious latte here and it had a relaxing atmosphere.
Everything was delicious, just a bit expensive
I was hyped after reading all the comments. Maybe i am not fancy enough for this type of food. Bacon was perfectly crispy but just like the eggs, it tasted like burnt butter.. Oh and i had to go to the depanneur to buy my own coffee cream because they only have milk... so overall i paid 38$ to eat 4 strips of bacon and trash the rest of my plate. But like i said, its probably just me not being fancy enough.
In love with this place and its food. Lovely design, great service
Magnificent
Excellent brunch! The choice is varied and all the dishes are tempting. The service was warm and excellent!
Excellent food
Nice vibe to enjoy coffee and lunch
Had an excellent yogurt bowl was super good loved it!
Enjoyed the atmosphere, the pancakes are amazing, the service was excellent will come back for sure to taste the salty menu that looked delicious. Really recommend for a brunch no reservations needed but might be a good idea if your are more than 4 Vegetarian options: Lots of choices Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options Kid-friendliness: Have baby high chairs
This is what you get for the Mama sandwich of 25$. Photo speak themselves. Food
Brunch taken around 10:30 a.m. of great taste, tasty bread and fresh vegetables. Excellent hot chocolate. Smiling and warm service
Disappointed... I had been a regular for several years.. the quality was there but very disappointed today.. avocado toast with a sort of avocado puree, it was dry and you could see that it was not fresh whereas before it was very fresh, very good. The dry pastries too.. I dont think Ill come back anymore :( expensive and more.. now there are a crazy crowd, the place has been a victim of its success and lost quality too bad!!
Very nice place, nice waitresses and good food. Very long wait
Good brunch restaurant. Service a little long and portions rather small for the price paid (cottage cheese panecakes)
What a wonderful discovery! Super nice staff, delicious food!!!!!
Very friendly staff, beautifully decorated and great tasting food! Fun place to go brunch
Beautiful! Cosy & tasteful.
Very good brunch, fast and friendly service. Good products. One of the rare brunches where you can book! It s appreciable.
This was a spiritual experience
Love how cozy the interior looks, very cute, perfect spot to have brunch with your friends. Staffs are friendly and the food is good.
I didnt really understand the hype about this place. The food was very ordinary, really very expensive for what it is and the service super slow and very ordinary.
I visited Maman for brunch, and it was an absolute delight. The aesthetics are unique and soothing, making you feel like you ve stepped into a peaceful garden a perfect escape from the city s hustle. The food was delicious, with unique flavors and recipes that stand out from the usual brunch fare. Don t expect your typical American breakfast here; the menu leans more towards a European vibe, offering a fresh and flavorful twist. Their coffees are just as impressive, especially the lattes, which are smooth, rich, and beautifully crafted. If you re looking for a cozy and charming spot with great food and coffee, this café is a must-visit!
Great experience.
A very beautiful place. On the other hand, the dishes are not very generous for the price. The service was okay but the waiter was a bit of a diva, I remain mixed. Not sure I ll go back for brunch but for coffee yes!
I loved the food. Beware of wait times! It s the best
Best coffee in town with best cookies!! Girl who works on Tuesdays best service!
First experience The dishes are generous and the flavors explode in the mouth with every bite. The quality is impeccable and the value for money is perfect. A culinary experience that does not disappoint! Rating 9/10 Recommended for friends, lovers, everyone! Parking: Parked on rue Victor-Hugo - Free (see road signs)
Food took super long to come out. Matcha latte was lukewarm, I asked for it hot, she put it in the microwave (instead of making a new one) then forgot it in the microwave for 10 mins until I had to ask. She then made me a new one which was lukewarm again.
Disappointing, poor value for money, service could be better
delicious breakfast sandwich, good coffee and super cute atmosphere! Friendly servers and all around great experience :)
A very pleasant setting, just like the team. Delicious breakfast, I recommend!
Personally it was a great experience, the service is top notch, the food excellent and the staff lovely! A big thank you to the one who took care of me, who placed me at a table in a quiet corner. I came alone on a Saturday around noon, the service was quite fast despite the crowd :)
Didnt even get to taste the food sense after asking the waiter to move into the restaurent because of bees on the terrasse, she yelled at us saying that we were advised before hand. We waited patiently for around 20 mins then we went into the restaurant fearing the bees. We were then asked to bring our plates in ourselves!!!! We had to leave after this horrible experience of being YELLED at by the waitress. I must say that the young male waiter was really polite, she seemed to be the main waitress, so he couldnt help much...
I went for solo breakfast on a friday morning. Not too crowded, staff was super friendly, and the decor is very beautiful and relaxing The food was so delicious. I ordered the ratatouille with eggs with honey&lavender latte. The menus not exactly on the cheap end, but I was very satisfied with my order, its presentation and the service!
I love pastry for breakfast but I usually cant find it anywhere. Maman has a pastry assortment, which is fresh and very tasty, exactly what I like for breakfast. The French toast not that good though. Update: We were there for the second time, I got eggs ratatouille which was great, and the French toast was better this time. Unfortunately the service was not pleasant. We reserved a table for 6 and we were 6 adults with a 5yo kid. When we asked for an extra seat for the kid the lady was responding as she was annoyed! And it was a bit hard to get their attention for asking anything like a tissue (which was not on the table) or an extra cup of coffee. Still my favorite place for brunch
I had high expectations since maman is popular in NYC and NJ. Utterly disgusted with food and cleanliness and service. Nasty tasteless avocado toast with uncooked eggs. Waterdown overpriced hojicha tea. Old and oily baked goods. There was a spider hanging out of high chair they gave us to use. Service was so slow even though I was the only one of two customers and I had to grab napkins from other tables. The owner was nice and thoughtful however. Not going back.
The food and the atmosphere were great but it took 35 minutes for the food to arrive. not fun and not really acceptable for a brunch
The food was very good. Both the vegetarian and non vegetarian options were delicious. The menu indicated which allergens were in which dishes. I appreciated this a lot since I am allergic to nuts and I knew automatically which items I could have and which I couldnt. The service was good. The only gripe I had was that the server took quite a while to tend to my friend and I the first time, but after flagging her down to order we were tended to quite often The restaurant is located in a very nice neighborhood which set a good ambiance. I also really enjoyed the interior and exterior decor, very tasteful and well designed overall. Terrace was very nice.
The fried chicken was bland. Not seasoned, not crispy and not tasty. Just mid. Served with a little salad, 2 slices of bread and eggs. The entire meal was pretty disappointing. The coconut lemonade was good though
Service and food were really good and fair prices!
The green goddess salad was amazing the coconut lemonade was also a big hit ! Unexpected at that
Breakfast restaurant in Montreal... The food is very delicious The service is excellent Our server was Emily, who was nice and cheerful The atmosphere is comfortable I may go back to it several times
Came here for brunch and our whole group ordered papa s breakfast plate. Meal was delicious including the croissant ordered on the side. Staff were all friendly and attentive. Would definitely return.
Maman offers a good breakfast in a pleasant, quiet atmosphere. Its not overcrowded, so you can enjoy it in a relaxed manner. The excellent coffee is particularly noteworthy. Milk alternatives are offered at an additional cost. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. The price-performance ratio is ok. There is a selection of patisserie, although the pistachio cake was gluten-free but not particularly tasty.
A wonderful breakfast, excellent service and the pastry for the finish magnificent.
The food was very tasty, but there were plenty of wasps going inside the plate (which was a little small in my opinion) so it felt a bit gross to finish eating. Plus, the girls beside us were judging when we were freaking out? Wasn t super welcoming, but it s not the restaurant s fault. As for the service, it really wasn t all that great. The waitress only came once, and that s to take our orders at the very beginning. Plus, we were told we couldn t sit inside because there were reservations, which is understandable, but then she explained that even if the reservations are cancelled, they will prioritize later reservations for other tables? Which we didn t quite understand why? Also, the waitress expected us to tip 15% despite not interacting at all. Plus, the toilets were shocking. Overall, very good food, but poor service. Would recommend checking out but not go regularly.
I really enjoyed myself... nice place, good decor, great food. Was a please surprise to find this place.
Superb pastries! Emilie gave us superb service. She was very attentive and went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction (filter coffee).
I do not recommend this place... I waited a very long time for my order and it was not tasty at all... This was my worst breakfast in Montreal
I showed up 5 minutes late for my reservation and was sent to the back of the line as if I didn t have a reservation, horrible service to begin with so I decided to leave. Not worth the wait
Lots of love in the dishes. Great service too.
Best cookies in town. However, if youre not a morning person, dont expect the cookies being available. I dont live in downtown and was extremely disappointed. Update : Do not even bother to call them over the phone. They wont take your phone calls. I tried to call so I can ask to put aside some cookies but they did not take any of my 20+ calls
Reservation on a Sunday at 11 a.m. The waiter, who was not very friendly, took our order without taking into account first come, first served. I had to change my dish because there was already no more (at 11 a.m.!!!, not 11:20 a.m....) and the last one was served at the table set up after us but whose order was taken before us! Our dishes arrived 45 minutes after the order was taken, too long for me. The dish, in a small portion, was neither good nor bad, ordinary, nothing more (no restaurant added value). We had to move around and queue to pay at the counter. The waiters work is of little interest: slow service, no control over the kitchen, he does not respect the order of arrivals and does not prevent us from queuing for payment. The interior is VERY NOISY. We stayed there far too long for a disappointing result. And to think that there is a queue for brunch there!!!!! I wont come back.
Yesterday, Sunday, we decided to try this brunch restaurant. What a bad idea! The waiter, a bit of a grand lady, rolled his eyes and pouted when the answers to his questions did not arrive quickly enough. Then we had to wait over 45 minutes to be satisfied. When we asked the waiter he didnt know why it was taking so long. It was about the kitchen, not him. As for the dishes, for the same dish ordered as the neighboring table, I did not have the same content. Weird, right? In addition, the portions are small and its really nothing original. In short, a big disappointment. We will not be going there again and we made that clear when paying the bill.
Everything was great! From the food to the service! The waitress was very committed and explained her highlights to us when we asked.
Amazing vibes, with SUPER friendly staff, we enjoyed our breakfast a lot in this beautiful atmosphere
At Mom, the decor is very nice, but I wasnt impressed by the food. The pastries on the other hand were magnificent. I ordered the croque maman and my sandwich had too little brie and bechamel, so it was more or less a ham sandwich. I want to come back to try the other dishes and maybe these dishes will be better. The service was good but not fantastic. I also ordered the chocolate and pistachio croissant and it was delicious.
Cute space with good coffee
The hot chocolate was good. I am only gave 2 starts to the atmosphere, because the place is not clean. The floors, the walls and chairs need a bit of care ...
Very warm welcome, efficient service especially the lady who taking care of the table and the waiter name Howie they do an excellent job ... And excellent meal quality! We chose this restaurant somewhat by chance, but we have no regrets.
Fried chicken looked nasty and smell bad, send it back and the chef told us it was some kind of fish sauces in the coating.(Not mentioned on the menu) Still got charged 27$ after eating the eggs, salade and half avocado. Poor management. Food
We loved the place a lot. The team was so friendly and welcoming. I had pancakes and I loved it. Also my 13 month year old daughter loved it. Thanks a lot Food : 5/5 |
We ate at several New York locations and admittedly had expectations. Unfortunately the overflowing plates of New York were not there. Unfortunately not worth the $80 for 2 people.
The most lovely people work here <3 Lynn was a sweetheart and determined to find us a table even though we hadn t made a reservation. The honey lavender latte was divine. Would recommend :)
Really nice place. Great service. The web said that they offer vegan options, however just a cake and a soup were labeled as vegan, but we asked and they kindly organized some dishes so they could be vegan. Quinoa salad without dressing and potatoes.
Service staff are knowledgeable about the menu but dont pay attention to you after ordering unless you approach them or call them. The atmosphere is great but too crowded. Food is amazing and the portions are great
It was the worst service He was so rude and disrespectful We already had a reservation we got a table smaller than our party. And we asked him a big table , and he would just ignore our requests like we don t exist, we moved to a big table (as the place was near empty) he cams now and shuts (why are you sitting here??!), In a humiliating way. I think this employee is working to destroy this business, i can t think of any other reason why he would treat a large party the way he did. We got out immediately and are never coming back.
This is my second time at Moms. I ordered the white chocolate matcha and it was delicious. The drinks at Maman are exquisite! However, to my dismay, the maple crunch pancakes really disappointed me. They were raw and tasted a lot like flour and had a very doughy consistency. In addition, the mothers breakfast sandwich plate was also disappointing. The egg was overcooked, the bread was not toasted enough and the potatoes were too bland. The prices of the dishes are not cheap so its a shame and disappointing... I dont plan to return to eat in the future unfortunately.
I tried Maple Pancake. Taste was good and fluffy. They serve with fresh fruits and a side of maple syrup. The staff has good energy and so friendly. Love the vibe I also tried pistachio croissant last time and it was great with latte. Food
Me and my friends booked an appointment at 15:00, but when we get there on time they tell us that the kitchen closes at 15:00. I showed the servers the confirmation I got and they told us they will call their manager. The call made us believe that they will find a way to accommodate us, or tell us that they cant do anything for us. Either way, we expected them to come back to see us and tell us about the situation. The infuriating part of the situation is that none of them took the time to talk to us and give us the result of the phone call they made. Instead, they just hung up and stood behind the counter. Once we got tired of them not doing anything about the situation, we decided to go somewhere else, and thats when they gave us a sorry. As a waitress myself, I understand that sometimes there are things that are out of the staffs control, but it is their job to give proper customer service. This is probably just a system issue, so I understand if we cant eat there, but the service was disappointing.
had the avocado toast and it was super yummy! the waiter was really nice and welcoming. good vibes all around, will definitely come back <3
Overpriced and far too busy, not pleasant at all. People waiting for their take out coffees taking over the front of the restaurant. Tables are jammed close together. Our food was cold and people kept leaning over us to get cutlery / water / napkins. Really disappointing. It was so expensive! Not worth it I m afraid.
The ambience was lovely, and the service was excellent. I tried their Pain au Chocolat Pistache, which looked fantastic. However, I was disappointed by the filling, as it was full of food coloring and lacked any pistachio flavor.
A first experience and frankly it was fantastic, the food was really good (I have often paid more for less good elsewhere), the nice decor and if the service was a little slow it was more because they are victims of their success, in any case the staff was friendly, smiling and accommodating. In short, dont go there!! , I want to make sure I have room when I go back
Super cute café! The food was great. We got the potatoe breakfast bowl and their green goddess salad and coffee, of course! The salad was really great, I have their cookbook, so I will make this recipe! The potatoe bowl was great, too! Highly recommend this place. Its a cute place for a date or a brunch with friends or family. Its on the pricier end but will definitely come back with the hubby.
The food, coffee and pastries were all delicious!
Very nice atmosphere, good quality of food , service is amazing
It s not a usual breakfast or sandwich place; you can feel the art, love, and passion in every plate. Everything tastes special. The vibes were amazing, and the team was funny and joyful.
I love coming for my coffee or tea in the morning before work. There are no people during the week, which is great! The atmosphere is really very nice, one of Provence chic good vibes. In short, we feel good there! The pastries are delicious!! The small downside would sometimes be the slowness of the service, just for tea.
Food and bakery : Excellent! Croissance almond was so delicious! We had ratatouille and sandwiches. It was delicious as well. Coffee : ok We had latte. Acceptable ( Im pretty fussy for coffee in general ) It could be better... Staff : lovely and super friendly 5/5 Environmental : so cozy, so pleasant and lovely to be there 5/5
Super cute restaurant, great service. I really liked my experience! Foodies take note, the portions are quite large, especially the pancakes.
Vegetarian options: Delicious! Great service and beautiful ambiance- will come back for sure! Food
Love this place!!!
overpriced and not so nice staff
Food is good, but portions are normal sized, not brunch sized, and its a little pricey, given you want to add things on to almost every plate. Potatoes are delicious and worth it. I got almond milk for my coffee and it looked like it curdled, which they said always happens with their milk... Never happens to me with almond milk at home so I find that strange.
We reserved one day in advance on their website. We waited 50 min after they took our order to have our food (very long). The food was delicious Food : 4/5
The food and drinks are very good, but the service is absolutely poor... not able to handle more than one table at a time, receiving drinks and pastries after the meal although ordered before.
one of the best brunch spot in Montrèal! although food quality is a bit different than what the NYCs one offers
One of my favourite brunch spots! Service is slow on the weekend and I recommend making a reservation but the most amazing food! The maple crunch pancakes were delicious and I recommend the Thyme lemonade!
Staff is so sweet! This place is so cute!!!
Worst cafe on my trip to Montreal. They make me wait 40 mins and then told me to stand outside for more 45 mins. And then the lady there told me that people like you get mad when they don t get table quickly . That was a worst experience in Montreal for me.
5 star the lady at reception is really nice, she makes the wait pleasant and accommodated us quite efficiently. I will come back even if I have to wait because that is why you have to wait because when a restaurant is successful there is traffic. It s very normal for him to have the wait.
Simply wow! Impeccable food, quality coffee Perfect for beautiful, elegant brunches
For a restaurant called Maman it is extremely disappointing that your restaurant does not have access for strollers or people with reduced mobility. Also I was asked to fold my stroller to go eat at the table with my newborn... no sense.
Very good, thank you very much
Over an hour long wait (seated) for incredibly mediocre food.
It s hard to rate this restaurant. Mix of positive and negative points! The food is definitely worth to try to. Service and staff on the other hand are the negative side. If it s always busy on the weekends as everyone is commenting, why don t they hire more staff so that we don t have to wait for ages to receive service. There are empty seats there but there is no one to let them sit!
Great everything ! So happy we randomly stumbled here by accident It was sooooo tasty !! Food : 5/5
Great breakfast! French vibes reminds of home! Good to visit with friends for a weekend brunch!
The food was fresh and delicious. I loved the decor and the playlist they were playing was just so smooth, I loved it. The waitress Naomi was super sweet. I definitely recommend!
Its odd to say, but I loved the plates they were very Instagrammable. However, the croissants were not fresh, and the pancakes were average. While some enjoyed the salmon toast, it wasnt to my taste. The service and atmosphere were both okay. Despite some disappointments, I wouldnt mind giving it another try.
We had amazing breakfast at Maman. The service was fantastic, they were super helpful and customized the coffee as per our needs.
I absolutely loved this restaurant from A to Z. The food was absolutely amazing. The service may have seemed long for others, but we were catching up with friends wed not seen in a long time - so it was perfect. However, I saw a kitchen staff leave the bathroom stall without washing her hands and was completely flabbergasted by this
I had a reservation for 5 at 11 AM. When I made the reservation I was told we would have the table until 12:30. I arrived 5 minutes early, before my guests, and was seated. At about 5 after 11, the hostess felt the need to tell me that my table would be needed at 12:30 regardless of the time the others arrived. This made us feel rushed from the get go. Although everyone was seated and ready to order by 11:30, we only received our food at 12. A little before 12:30, I asked for another cup of coffee which was brought to me in a to go cup. Again, we were being rushed out. Our server was very busy but good and we enjoyed the food. We did not appreciate the hostess who kept rushing us from the beginning. She said it herself that they give everyone a grace period of 15 minutes. I will not be returning. I did not appreciate the hostess s attitude.
This place was suggested by a friend and we had a nice brunch there. First, you need to reserve if you are few peoples and dont want to wait outside. The place looks so authentiiic. Meals are simple but very delicious. I had bol de déjouner de papa and I really enjoyed it. Best part was the pain au chocolate with pistachio cream. It is the best that you can try for a very reasonable money.
The café had a wonderful ambiance, with cozy seating and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about their coffee offerings and cakes. If youre a coffee lover visiting Montreal, this café is a must-visit for an exceptional coffee experience. I highly recommend it
Cute little coffee place near Lachine canal. It was my first time there, I tried the smoked salmon toast and my friend took the breakfast sandwich. It was delicious, but not incredible thats why I didnt give the fifth star. The service and the vibe were great! It s worth coming back to try new stuff for sure
Very nice causy little brunch place, delicious food, great service & ambiance
Maman came up as one of the top brunch spots in the area in my Google search so I decided to try it out on a Sunday. I m happy I reserved a table a day before because when I showed up there was a line of 10-12 people waiting outside. Even with a reservation, I still had to wait 15 minutes to get seated which is why I m removing a star. Nevertheless, the hostess was extremely friendly and helpful, she was clearly busy sorting things out so props to her for handling everything in such a friendly manner. The servers were quick to take our order and bring our food. The food is pricey, for a breakfast bowl in the picture and a drink my bill came up to $40. Even though I have no complaints about food (it was warm, tasty, and came on time), it s hard to justify paying those prices, especially when the atmosphere is quite disappointing when you expect a cozy brunch spot. The interior of the cafe is ok. They re going for a rustic look which they ve achieved nicely but in the process forgot to make it practical. The chairs were quite uncomfortable, the seat on mine was falling apart. I saw some people sitting on scraped metal folding chairs like the ones you might find at a high school concert. The place is very crammed like others said, if you re the unfortunate person sitting with your back/side to a walking path you ll for sure get brushed against every time someone passes by. Overall, worth checking out once to check-mark off your list. However, not a place I would keep going back to regularly, it didn t live up to the hype for me. Parking: Check out streets parallel to Notre-Dame to find free street parking.
A magical experience at Moms My visit to Mom has always been a magical experience from start to finish. As soon as I walk through the door, I am greeted by a warm and enchanting atmosphere that transports me to a world of culinary delights. The service is impeccable, with attentive and courteous staff, ready to respond to all needs. The dishes are a real explosion of flavors, showcasing fresh and tasty ingredients. And what about their coffee, simply divine! The ambiance of the café is also magical, with charming decoration and a welcoming atmosphere that allows you to completely relax. In summary, an unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a true delight for the taste buds in Montreal.
Very cozy place. More of a brunch/breakfast vibe. Some people go to work/study. Food is amazing however it does take a little time, be patient people! Recommended!
Very nice place for brunch. Smiling and dynamic service. Great food. The attentive owner took the time to chat with us. I recommend the pain au chocolat
One of the best brunch experiences in Montreal. The place is so cute and cozy (Rustic style) Loved the style of the dishes Food was amazing Service was good You can also grab some pastries to go with a cup of coffee Highly recommend it !!
The atmosphere was both lively and relaxed. The menu offered the great brunch classics with a good variety of options. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The pastries were delicious and a must try! The service was attentive and rather quick despite the crowds present. Overall, a very pleasant brunch experience that I recommend. I recommend booking in advance on their website which allows you to avoid waiting.
Even though we had a reservation, we waited 30 minutes before being seated. A young lady arrived after us and didnt have a reservation yet she only waited 10 minutes for a table. The service was slow, yes the place was packed but waiting another 30 mins for your meal is absurd. Ive had better tasty croque monsieur from Premiere Moisson. The lady who greeted us for lovely, cant remember her name.
Food is good but very expensive breakfast
This has been a regular brunch spot for all of my friends until today. We ordered 3 main and two of them were burned - pancakes and French toast. Ratatouille was yummy as usual. When I told the server, she came back from the kitchen and explained that that is how they do it. Well, nope. It wasnt nicely browned and I know the difference. They both tasted burned, bitter and black in some parts. The cook did not even bother look at the burned food to judge what I was talking about! I actually love it all the way to the brownest possible(cancer allert!), so please dont tell me that it is the usual at Maman. Although the server was apologetic, some staff coming in and out of the kitchen glared at us for quite some time after my complaint. First we thought that he was the cook and would come over to take a look, but he never did. It was my friends birthday brunch and everybody involved acted diplomatic. The server said sorry and we tipped her well because she was definitely not the one who burned our food. However, I feel like the kitchen and the management as a whole was irresponsible with their explanation and attitude. I mean we have been here many times and the menu we ordered have been consisstently our favourites! We know what they should taste like. Long story short - I expected more from my once favourite place Maman. I will not return to Maman.
The pastries are exquisite! I really liked the atmosphere and the quality of the food.
My visit to the restaurant was disappointing. The quality of the food was not up to my expectations, the service was slow, the place was not clean especially on the tables and the overall ambiance was not pleasant. I do not recommend this dining experience.
Very good service, reasonable prices, little wait even without reservation and I recommend the croque Maman!
I needed coffee (take out) so I went in when I was running errands nearby without first reading reviews or looking at menu. It was off peak hours on a weekday, not busy at all. Interior is quite cute, seems relaxed enough to have a nice conversation with friends or study - a couple of tables had people studying or working. Service was super friendly at the cash. Barista was nice too. My drink was perfect. I grabbed a couple of the famous cookies, they are quite good but not sure why they are so famous. I might come back to try the brunch options. Parking is difficult to find.
cute spot but music is WAY too loud at 9:30 am
Very good espresso. Very nice home. The place is very clean too. Its just parking thats a bit difficult, otherwise its a very good place to chat around a café
I love their matcha lattes, best cookies and their soup! Definitely on the pricey side
The food was absolutely delicious But it wasn t filling much. The place is cute and cozy and I recommend visiting here
Very nice little café on rue Notre Dame. On the other hand, it was freezing cold, everyone had their winter coat on,... The hot drinks were all too sweet. The pastries were good but the brunch dishes were disappointing and ordinary. Excellent service!
Beautiful place! The coffees and pastries are good! However, the prices are relatively high for the size of the dish you receive..
The place is gorgeous!! Beautiful atmosphere: the decor, plates, cups, etc. But I wont be coming back, the service is soooo bad that I just couldnt believe it, the guy had such a laziness/apathy to serve us that I was about to asked him why was he working there if he had ZERO interest in clients. The only time he was kind was when he told us they were closing and if he could get us something else. My girlfriend didnt tip him, I was not going to tip him either but I felt bad... why should I feel bad when he treated us like whatever? Anyways! Not going back there. It is a shame that a business go to waste because of its employees.
The place is really nice and the staff is really friendly. They should hired more staff because you can totally see they struggle a lot when the place is full. We didn t eat because we waited like 30 minutes for drinks only but we tried the bakery which is really good !! The owner should hired more staff that s my opinion.
Very bad service. Waited 15mins to be seated (had a reservation) and 1hr for a mediocre non-generous food.
Very disappointing experience. The place is so tight because we clearly want to try to make the place profitable. Lack of staff. 30min to get our drink. My mom sandwich was bathed in caramelized onions. Very disappointed with Mrs. Marshalls establishment.
I left soooooo happy we had the pancakes and roasted carrot soup! Everything was so delicious.
Table too crowded, decent food, but excessive price, several choices offered when ordering which are extras, but not mentioned by the waitress. For a first visit, I felt like I had fallen into a stupid trap. Not very generous plate.
A wonderful bistro on a quiet section of Notre Dame (West) in Griffontown, Maman has a bright, airy atmosphere that adds a pleasant ambiance to your brunch. Stylized with faded white-stained patio furniture, surrounded by antiqued mirrors and a variety of hanging fauna, Maman provides a summertime vibe even in winter time. The menu options are generally of the healthy variety so you wont find the classic diner style breakfast here, however there are some excellent baked goods as compensation. For our meal we enjoyed the Papas Breakfast Bowl (very good...I really liked the roasted potatoes), the Wilde Salad (also very good), a butter croissant (very good) and a Oprah cookie (excellent..super fresh and tasty)...as well as a Maple French Toast Latte (yum). Service was attentive and the meal was delivered very quickly. We arrived at around 10am and the restaurant was still available...but by 11am it was mostly full. Definitely worth a visit. Enjoy!
We can go on and on about this place - Food: we had the French toast and the smoked salmon along with Mamans dish. The first two were our favourites - Drinks: we had flat white and black coffee and the coffee was great - Atmosphere: Interior is so cozy with lots of natural plants and classic decorations - Staff: amazing welcoming staff. Our flight was an hour delayed and we missed our reservation by an hour and they checked by calling and honoured our request to put it on hold though they had a long queue waiting outside
Lack of respect in terms of service, they forgot to wait 1 hour for us to finish, its not good.
They forgot our order and we were served more than an hour after our arrival
This charming New York café opened in Montreal a few years ago. Nice place to have coffee and brunch. The service, although a little slow at the coffee machine, is very friendly.
Finally popped in here while killing some time for an appointment nearby (I ve heard it s insanely busy on weekends so was happy to go on a weekday). The food was delicious - tried the pancakes and would absolutely order them again. $18 for a stack of three pancakes is definitely pricy but you have to accept the upscale prices if you want to dine here unfortunately. For a black coffee and pancakes, it came to about $25. The drip coffee was a bit bitter but generally tasted good. Service was so so. Took a few minutes to be seated but the server came by relatively quickly to take my order. Food came out quickly but never saw my server again until I was finished. The place was busy for 1:30pm on a weekday but I echo similar comments that there are far too many tables crammed into the space which really takes away from the atmosphere. Less so if you re seated near the front of the cafe but very much at the back near the kitchen. Overall a cute cafe to try out in the area. Would return for the pancakes!
The right spot for brunch. Atmosphere and service were great, and the food was phenomenal. We had different items from the menu, but the most impressive to me was the maple crunch pancakes and the truffle croque maman. Their coffee was delicious too. To complete the already-full stomach we had the smores cookie - and it was excellent.
Very beautiful, attentive and friendly staff. In good lunches but not necessarily the best.
A nice café with a really great atmosphere. The food is delicious and freshly prepared. The service is friendly and quick. Price performance is okay. We were there late in the morning on a Monday and had no problem getting a table without a reservation. Definitely a recommendation! Vegetarian options: There is enough choice
We loved it. Its good even the pastries are premium
The place is charming, a little cramped but it doesnt matter. Coffee ok. The food (sweet side more than salty) is good but a little too expensive for what it is.
The food and service were great! I love a brunch place that accepts reservations, which I recommend as it does get crowded. We got the pancakes and the toasted salmon, which were delicious. I found the price point for the salmon high at $22 as it wasnt super filling. Pancakes were at $18, which is typically for MTL brunch places. The place is beautiful. However, there are a lot of tables crammed at the back, which makes it less intimate. I would go back to try their amazing looking cookies, though.
A vintage and warm place.
A place where you feel good. Great brunch. Very good address
Very nice coffee shop
She loves this place. I follow along, but I must admit the food is good. We usually go closer to closing time so it isnt as busy. She gets the Kale salad and I usually get the salmon bagel. Cute place and staff is attentive. Id reco this place.
I used to go to this place a lot ! but recently, I ve been disappointed. The waiter is rude and arrogant - music is too loud - food is bad quality and taste. Too bad :(
Best brunch I ve had in a long time. Pancakes & pain perdu were awesome. Pumpkin pie latte was also delish. The decor is so beautiful. Grab cookies on the way out, you won t regret it!
Food quality is satisfactory, however, a few negative points are worth mentioning. Service was quite slow, with a wait of around 10 minutes for menus and water. Also, once our food was served (40 minutes later), no one came back to check if we needed anything else. Moreover, it should be noted that it is better to avoid the first tables for two people at the entrance, as the experience was unpleasant at this location. Queue management is a bit chaotic, as instead of taking customers names and having them wait outside, groups have piled up in a tight space, crowding the first few tables near the entrance. Additionally, the door was constantly open, letting in drafts, making the overall experience less than pleasant. It gave the impression of eating in the entrance hall, under the gaze of people waiting for their table. In summary, if the restaurant allows customers to wait inside, it would be a good idea to condemn these three tables and reserve them for a waiting area, thereby greatly improving the diners experience in the dining room.
Nice spot!
Overall a good experience. Two of their main items on the menu in my opinion is the waffles and pancakes. So I was disappointed & shocked even they told me they ran out of waffles at noon. Nevertheless, the toppings on the pancakes made the pancakes delicious & i recommend the seasonal French toast latte
Neighborhood café between Grifintown and Camal Lachine. Cozy and warm, the welcome is pleasant, as is the service. Smoked salmon toast was very good, as well as the latte. I recommend this cafe Parking: On the street Kid-friendliness: Stroller accepted Wheelchair accessibility: Possibility of circulating in the restaurant and toilets on the same level as the room.
Cookies!
Super cute place. Small portions and everything is overpriced.
This is where I go to indulge myself. Everything always tastes so great and the service is excellent!
Service a little slow even though there werent many people, we were left to wait a good 15 minutes to be seated, knowing that I had a reservation :). The savory menu is full of flavors, however the pancakes and brioche bread are too dense.
Yes, the cookies are to die for The dining area is literally packed with tables so it feels quite claustrophobic but I appreciated being seated almost immediately even for Sunday brunch. We did wait 40+mins for our food. Other than that, lovely rustic atmosphere, great coffee and food - highly recommend the Maman s breakfast sandwich!
Great breakfast spot, and the bakery items are superb
Was gonna try this place with our newborn but it didn t work out took about 15-20 minutes to get the server s attention long enough to order. After more than 45 minutes of sipping water and patiently waiting server didn t seem to even know if the food order had gone in or not (ordered a salad not sure if they were growing the lettuce in real time or what). Wound up having to leave without even getting served could only wait for so long with a newborn. Horrible customer service.
Very good coffee and dishes but the portions are unbalanced: 75% of the plate is salad/potatoes. The chipotle sauce is very good but there isnt enough to sauce more than half the potatoes. The bacon was also good but it was literally 5 pieces the size of crumbs. The cookies are very good. In terms of atmosphere, the tables are very close and the room is noisy
Cute deco, great service, but the yogurt parfait I had was very sad. A bit of Greek yogurt, a sprinkle of granola, compote and a bit of fruit. Could have made something better at home. Very underwhelming.
Very good address . The drinks of the moment: delicious. Food too! The setting is CHOU. We really liked it!
The best breakfasts you will try and with splendid attention and kindness. Also, if you like sweets, the pastries are incredible! 200% advisable
This was the best café experience I ve had, my boyfriend and I got lucky and were seated right away even without a reservation on Sunday, but while we were leaving we noticed some people were lined up and waiting. So maybe a reservation wouldn t hurt! We tried the Katie sandwich (my boyfriend loved it so much!) and I had smoked salmon, and it was also incredible with the hot chocolate which I thought was average and a holiday cappuccino! Loved the food and the ambiance of this place, I highly recommend it!
The best Chai latte Ive ever had hands down!! Highly recommended
After visiting the Toronto location, i had to see the Montréal one. Really loved it! We had the Katie sandwich and green goddess. Both were delicious. Their drip coffee is excellent as well. The restaurant was a little busy but service was really fast. It is nicely decorated and food is excellent. Prices are a little high but everything seems of quality.
I m so happy this beautiful place has opened up again. I really missed it. The atmosphere is to die for. I usually sit at the bar to sip one of the best Cortados in Montreal. Not to forget the super delicious cookies to make you feel warm The friendly staff always serves you with a great smile no matter what. The service is at the right pace and the food is well you will understand why this place is a MUST-GO on Notre-Dame street. Of course I ended up drinking a glass of Prosecco while having conversation here and there with the staff. A++++
Very good coffee & sweets, really nice ambience. Would go there again!
Amazing place for breakfast. The combination of healthy and tasty food is beyond expectations. Staff is very helpful and professional. Loved the food, service and interior of the restaurant.
I am not sure why this place has less rating. Its a very cozy cafe. The food is really good too. They serve amazing salad
