351 Saint-Paul St W, Montreal, Quebec H2Y 2A7, Canada
Foodie destination featuring sweets, as well as panini & salads in a charming, rustic space.
Bustling, but with quick turnover and not that much of a wait for us in a Sunday morning. 20 minutes maybe. The excellent staff run a right ship here, and the service and food are both of the highest quality. Hot sandwiches are where the menu shines for me, and although 8CAD for an orange juice is a lot, it's good. Anyway this place was good enough for Phil Rosenthal on Netflix, so if I can't convince you, listen to him.
The ambience is really nice, good vibe but it’s be try pricey for what it is. I ordered a fuego fuego sandwich and I don’t know how is this like 25$ , however the French toast was delicious. I recommend this place only for a quick grab and go .. coffee and maybe a pastry.. not really for brunch
Food is pretty damn tasty, service is good - it’s just very expensive and for that reason, not very accessible for some people unfortunately. If you don’t mind a $70 breakfast for two people it’s good (we knew what we were getting into and accepted that), however they are right at that price point where you expect perfection and I wouldn't bother going again if they raised prices any further. $26 (plus any tip) for a grilled cheese? Location-based pricing, right in old port. We enjoyed the cubano sandwich (very nice flavours) and their pastries are good as well.
My husband and I make this a sure stop each time we visit Montreal and each time we go, we are reminded why! The freshness, creativity, and pure deliciousness of their food never disappoints. While some might be sticker shy (it’s an incredibly popular area), it’s a must try at least once! The Elixir, potato salad, any French toast option, and Cuban panini are all so wonderful. And we are so excited to try some recipes out of the cookbook we purchased on our way out!
There is a wait time depending on what time you are visiting . We are here today on a Sunday at 1.20 pm and we had 20 minutes for for hour for our party of 3. Bakery items are good in taste . The sweet re it’s with bread was nice . Also the chicken melt sandwich was good but not Healy thought. We liked the chia bowl and cappuccino. The spot is a nice small spot for breakfast
The pastries at this place are simply perfect—whether it’s the blueberry scones, triple chocolate biscuits, or the almond croissants, each bite is a delight. The coffee, especially the lattes and mocha lattes, pairs beautifully with the treats. We’ll miss this spot so much! Highly recommended for anyone in the area.
Olive et Gourmando is a must visit in Montreal for its cozy ambiance and fantastic food. The place has a warm, inviting vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. Even though there’s often a bit of a wait to be seated, it’s totally worth it. The staff is super friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. The food is fresh, flavorful, and served with a smile. If you’re in Montreal, this spot is definitely one to check out!
Quaint French cafe and bakery with amazing pastries and a solid coffee game. We loved breakfast so much that we went back another day for lunch! Sandwiches were phenomenal, and that salad was top notch too. Servers were all happy and made the experience a joy! And don't sleep on the ricotta and honey. So good!
Cute place, I ordered the Cuban sandwich ( panini) it was good but not worth the price 30$ Its the usual Cuban sandwich recipe. Choose something else. The salad 24 was really good! Highly recommend!
Friendly stuff & amazing food. They have a lovely corner to read good vibe. I had an amazing afternoon after a long flight and i m greatful i spend my little time in Montreal here to chill
Fantastic experience! Our family was able to try several dishes, all delicious. The mac & cheese, pulled chicken sandwich, poached egg sandwich and salad #24: all were very tasty. We highly recommend!
We stopped in for lunch, soup of the day was delicious!
They make very good and original sandwiches. Its full and you have to wait, 20 minutes at least no one can take it away from you. No wifi. Very bustling atmosphere, tables are small and cramped. High prices. It is very well located, so if you are not in a hurry it is a good option to take a break, regain strength and continue. 06/24
Stepping into this cozy, modern café felt like a warm embrace and the food was the chefs kiss. I ordered the salted ricotta and butternut squash soup, and it was an unforgettable experience for my taste buds . The Salty ricotta, something I wouldn t typically choose, turned out to be a revelation creamy and flavorful, and perfectly balanced with the bread and sweet salad mix. Pairing it with the butternut squash soup elevated the meal to one of the best I ve had in Montréal. My partner, opted for a double portion of the kids mac and cheese, (because he doesn t like mushrooms) and it was rich, cheesy, with the perfect amount of crisp. He declared it one of the best mac and cheeses he s ever tasted. I couldn t resist one of their dark chocolate cookies, which was everything a cookie should be: soft, rich, and satisfying. The service was warm and attentive, making the entire experience even more delightful.
Very nice place for Sunday brunch. We go there in small groups since the place is not very big, but very warm. Tourist and local customers mingle there in a very pleasant café-restaurant atmosphere.
Anyone not giving a 5 star review to these guys are lying to themselves! Best lunch in town
What an amazing little find! The food was incredible, especially the tex mex breakfast Food
Fantastic coffee, atmosphere and great menu options, grilled cheese was unreal!
Their ricotta salad was so yummy (5/5). The pain au chocolat was a 4/5 and the tea also very good. Prices are really really high: the salad alone was 25 CAD as of 2024 (remainder for the simplistic Europeans, price is without taxes and tip). Food
I saw everywhere that this was a great place. But the coffee wasnt good, they almost didnt have any pastries, and what they had was not that good. I didnt feel that comfortable...
Olive et Gourmando have been in the western end of Old Montreal for over two decades. When they started, the neighbourhood was a wasteland and the only reason to go there was to eat their delicious sandwiches, brioches, and other delights. Now it s a hip part of town, in no small part because of O & G, and they still make delicious food, have great staff, and a wonderful atmosphere.
This is a wonderful restaurant with wonderful people. We highly recommend going there for brunch, even if you have to wait. We will come back!
$25 excluding tax for a sandwich the size of a simple Burger from McDonalds. Who are we kidding? I will never set foot there again. There are limits to everything. Besides, the sandwich was nothing special.
A lovely place to go with friend when passing old port Montreal. Food is always good.
The woman in a bobcut was our server and really just wrecked our entire experience. Extremely callous with customers and not really approachable. Made me feel bad for stepping into that place to eat. The food was alright. Really and truthfully its just how she treated us that really left a bad taste in our mouths.
Warm restaurant, a little expensive for what you get on the plate. The coffees are excellent.
Nice place but unfortunately the service is very cold, even arrogant on occasion. This doesnt concern all the staff, but 8 out of 10 times Ive been there, its an ice bath. Unpleasant welcome, often there is not even a minimum polite hello before taking the order. We make customers feel like they are bothering us.
Brunette female waiter looked and acted like she didn t wanna be there, barely gave us any attention.
Avoid with young children! Good address but unpleasant waiters who refuse to find a solution to let me change the diaper of my seven-week-old baby (without warning upon arrival that there is no changing table or way to change a baby) and while the restaurant is practically empty
Amazing pastries, highly recommend
Too good!
The quality of the food has gone down over the years - the prices are not justified anymore. About $7 + tip for a basic croissant. It used to be good, now the pastries taste just like any other random coffee shop. Almond croissant has no filling inside, just a few almond pieces on top. Also, the service is also pretty bad - you walk in and there is no acknowledgement. Questions about the food are unwelcome. No goodbye. Like many others have said, if I am paying a ridiculous amount for something, the least they can do is show the customers some appreciation. Bummer - I used to really enjoy this place!
Very good bakery / pastry shop, both sweet and savory. A special mention for the egg croquette which is excellent without forgetting the almond croissant. Clean, welcoming, accessible and very pleasant place. I recommend.
We always stop here when we re in Montreal everything is amazing and the vibe is so cool. Great start to the day.
Such delicious food, kind people, cute decor. Get the potato salad!
Breakfast and bakery restaurant... One of the best breakfast restaurants in Montreal.. The atmosphere is comfortable The service is excellent The prices are high, I consider it the most expensive breakfast place in Montreal They have almond croissants and cardamom bread, something beautiful and delicious
All was perfect!!! Best moka coffee ever.
This place is truly a gem! We adore Vieux Port and make it a point to enjoy at least one meal here at this eatery during every visit. The cinnamon rolls are absolutely divine, melt in your mouth divine, but the star of the show is the poached egg panini. Each bite had us oohing and aahing with delight. The atmosphere is small and relaxed, creating a casual vibe that we love. The staff are wonderful, adding to the overall experience. Although there s often a line, it s definitely worth the wait. We highly recommend this spot especially for breakfast!
One of the best brunch places in Montreal!! I ve tried almost their whole menu and have never been disappointed. The baked goods are also great! It is a bit overpriced tho
Food and coffee are exceptional. Definitely worth wait in line. I do wish they offered gluten free pastries and bread for those with gluten intolerance.
I enjoyed an absolutely delicious Cuban panini in this restaurant. Very tasty, very cheesy, with a nice explosion of flavors in each bite. The portion was generous, so perfect for those with a sweet tooth! In addition to the quality of the dishes, the The place is superb, with a pleasant atmosphere. The service was simply impeccable, fast and attentive. I highly recommend!
Food was ok, though overly rich. The waiter seemed annoyed/grumpy and I can get feeling harried as this place is BUSY. The ambiance looks like everything was bought at a Home Sense. Theres a sign that says Eat. Might as well have a Live Love Laugh sign while youre at it. Food
First address in Montreal, we loved it! We recommend the tasty dishes and the top service
Food is good but too expensive for the price: A Cuban panini and a raspberry lemonade should not cost 40 dollars!
Brought a friend to experience O+G. He had an americano which he loved and I had a chai latte. Very dissatisfied- tasted like steam milk with a coating of nutmeg on the top. Then for breakfast had the granola which was heavenly and my partner had a panini that could have easily been shared, was great size.
The place is iconic, also indicated among the lonely planet recommendations. I imagine over time they have decreased the quality and increased the prices. The cappuccino and the freshly squeezed juice were terrible, the rest was good but nothing extraordinary that justifies 40 euros for two croissants and a plate of bread, ricotta and jam
Very disappointing experience. The plates are empty, with a $26 grilled cheese, no greens or fruit on the side. Same thing for my colleagues sandwich. Ordinary service, the waitress never came back to see us after receiving our plates.
Olive et Gourmando is a charming café in Old Montreal that I have been going to for around twenty years. Unfortunately, he lost some over time. The prices are very, very high ($40 for a sandwich without side dishes and a coffee!), and the sandwiches are less generous and varied than before. The coffee, however, is one of the best you can drink in Montreal.
Not very professional. I will not recommend it to my friends in Montreal. Bad!
I don t find the restaurant particularly charming and the servers are a bit too cool to care but the food was excellent. Definitely a great lunch option in Vieux-Montréal. Not suitable for families with young kids, though. No high chairs, no space for strollers in the dining room.
This place has delicious paninis that truly live up to their reputation. I highly recommend them! The atmosphere is nice, though the tables are a bit too close together. The service was okay, but it wasn t great, likely due to the busyness of the restaurant.
Delicious latte. Croissants smell very good. It was soft and crispy at the same time and very delicious. The cinnamon brioche was also very satisfying with just the right amount of sweetness.
Great atmosphere , vibe and service, beautiful cafe and friendly staff. Food was delicious, however it was really expensive.
The 25 minute wait was worth it and exactly the amount of time they quoted! Great atmosphere with perfect sound level and music. Ricotta toast was perfect balance of sweet and savory. Cuban panini bread was incredible and the sandwich had a nice spicy kick! Will definitely be back.
We had a great time in this restaurant! Welcome, service and meals nothing to say!
Awesome place to have a lunch. I liked the one with ricotta.
Great for solo dining
Olive et Gourmando in Montreal is a fantastic spot for a casual yet gourmet meal. The cozy, vibrant atmosphere makes it a great place for breakfast or lunch. Their fresh pastries and creative sandwiches are top-notch, with salads such as the salty ricotta and homemade pastries being standout items. The coffee is excellent, and the service is friendly, though it can get busy, so expect a wait during peak hours. Overall, a must-visit for anyone craving high-quality food with a relaxed vibe in Old Montreal.
Very popular place (40 min wait at 2 p.m.) in old Montreal but a true haven of delicacy and elegance. The service is very friendly and professional. The dishes demonstrate originality (brunch/sandwich/pastries) and demonstrate a certain culinary mastery.
This is a must when you are visiting Montreal. The best food and even though it has a bit of a lineup its worth every minute of the wait.
We stopped in here on a rainy day and the first impression was that we had found a gem. I have to say that nearly all of our experience was near perfect. I have complaints about how many folks they forced into such a small place and how unorganized the host stand was. Their fresh baked goods are worth all the hassle, though!
Really good coffee and food for breakfast
9.1 out of 10. Beautiful people, beautiful location, great service and the cute server made me laugh and gave me a fun hard time. Food quality was AMAZING. Location AMAZING. Google maps brought me here and for breakfast I will be here every time I am here. We had the chicken melt sandwich and a grilled cheese.
Every time we come to Montreal we come to Olive et Gourmando, and it never disappoints. Pastries, coffees, and service are consistently top-notch. Arrive early if you can to get a table, enjoy a languid breakfast, lunch, or snack and watch the world go by.
Everything we had was wonderful. My husband had the grilled cheese and caramelized onion panini. It is all the things you love about onion soup on a toasted panini. The cinnamon bun may be the best I have ever had light buttery and full of cinnamon but not too sweet.
A delicious brunch in the city center which was served to us with a smile from our waitress. What can I say about the strawberry French toast other than it was extraordinary! You absolutely have to taste it.
A landmark of Old Montreal, this restaurant is very busy and serves pastries, sandwiches, and desserts. While I think the pastries are merely nondescript, rhetorical decor is very ambient. Lots of cut little knickknacks to peer at. The place is usually bustling with locals and tourists, usually with a line winding all the way out the door. If you are just taking out, don t follow the line. That s for people with reservations or waiting for a table. There is also a little gift shop next door to it. I mean, if you are in the area and want to check out the buzz, sure come in for a quick bite. But come out of your way? I think there are better bistros in the neighborhood.
Sweet little cafe in Old Town Montreal. Nice selection of drinks, baked goods, and fresh food. I had the almond croissant, sweet ricotta, and a latte. All were delicious. The service is friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is nice but a bit tight.
Delicious and fresh! Speedy service in a very bustling restaurant! If you are looking for a nice place to have long conversation, not the spot for you, but if you want something fresh, tasty and elevated cafe go here!
We went at the end of the day for a snack. A lot of menu items were not available. I felt as if the service was rushed.
Definitely worth the wait in the line
Delicious, fresh and healthy! Loved it
What a commotion! Impossible to agree, the restaurant is far too small compared to the number of people possible to accommodate. You will have to wait outside depending on the time you arrive, you will be placed a few centimeters from another table. The food is good but much too expensive, I do not recommend the iced coffee, undrinkable.
Enjoyed our pastries
Convenient location to eat. Panini was great, salad was dry, lemonade was fine. Salad and toppings were not fresh, you could tell it was from 3-4 days old. Would recommend only if you dont have any option like what happened to us, but very expensive for what you get...
Really nice staff and awesome food, from the pastries to the entrees, both the cup and the breakfast sandwich were incredible
Took a while to get Seated for lunch but it was worth the wait. Phil was right to go here!!!
Absolutely the worst excuse for an almond croissant I ve ever had. Coffee was great. Waiter simply looked annoyed and too bothered to serve us
Got here early this morning for breakfast from Halifax Nova Scotia. Loved the ambiance. We were entertained right away at the door. I particularly loved my black tea paired with their homemade almond croissants and the grilled cheese sandwich were NUM! You can tell the cheese they used are of superb quality. Highly recommend this place
If you are looking for over priced food and unfriendly staff, you should definitely visit this place...you will not be disappointed. We went there for late lunch based on the reviews and it was a total disappointment. The staff could not care less. They kept chatting among themselves instead of attending the customers. VERY POOR SERVICE. WE PAID 28 DOLLARS for a Cheese sandwich which was not worth even trying! There are so many nicer and better priced places in this area, do not forget to try Jardin Nelson if time permits!
Montreal staple. Always get delicious coffee and breakfast here when returning to visit!
Always a pleasure to go to this restaurant! Really relaxed atmosphere and great quality food!!!
Really nice place and vibe. For a Saturday the wait wasn t that long (25-30mins) to get a table. The service was great, the waitress/waiters were on point. I wanted to try the panini poach eggs as people say it s one of the best things on the menu, but honestly for the price, it wasn t all that. Could have gotten a panini somewhere else for 12-15$ and would have tasted better. The frittata that my friend took tasted much better. I think it s overpriced for what it is and the bathroom was not very clean. It had a strong piss smell, they should clean it better or more often especially 1 bathroom for all. I would recommend if you are willing to spend money, but a nice walk at the old port after is the cherry on top Ps: they charge extra for almond milk?!? $1.25 for my hot coco)
Best breakfast ever
There s no reso so came here early to grab a spot, they wouldn t let me sit anywhere but the bar even though I was meeting a client and was going to order lol def don t waste your time if you re trying to meet someone here, better for an in and out thing. Staff is rude
Great food and service. Eggo Fuego was perfect.
Terrible service. Food was mediocre
Don t Forget Your Almond Croissant. This quaint little spot always seemed to be hoppin . A bit of a wait if you try to go for brunch on the weekend, but worth it. There are a variety of delicious pastries as soon as you walk in the door and a larger menu if looking for sit-down breakfast or lunch. The espresso was flavourful but inconsistent each time we stopped in for it. The whipped ricotta with orange honey and toast was quite nice, but make sure to order something that will help cut through that sweetness (like a coffee). Our favourite item happened to be the almond croissant. Something we went back for multiple times. You could taste the real butter as the flakey layers of almond deliciousness melted in your mouth. Oh how I wish I had one right now.
Good food - but pricey for what it is. Well located in the old port so for that alone, worth a stop!
The breakfast was delicious, but the customer service left a lot to be desired. I asked about a lost item, and despite some initial discussion among the staff, I didn t get a clear response until I asked a second time. Even then, they told me their colleague was too busy and that nothing had been found without making any effort to check. It was an unfortunate experience that overshadowed the otherwise good food.
Fortunately, it was nice to be able to eat without having to wait too long. It was a hot day and it was disappointing that there was no air conditioning.
You pay for the experience! To be honest, food is not something special, but the environment is very nice
Slow service
Very good, original menu but very expensive. The place is worth the detour for a gourmet experience.
Used to love this place, but Ive come to realize that prices are out if hands. 26$ + taxes + tips for a panini (even though delicious) is very much exagerated. As someone who lives in the neighborhood, it feels like price gauging for tourists.
Ordered from Breakfast menu. Waited for half an hour and paid 21$+tax+tips for this bun. And this insanely pricey bun is SPICY!!! Who serves First dish in the morning SPICY without warning??? An hour later I had diarrhea Dietary restrictions: You need to mark spicy ingredients especially in breakfast menu!
Finally found a café where everything fits. The scone with cheese, ham and apricot jam plus salt flakes on top was my favorite. The cappuccino was also very tasty. The atmosphere is cozy. Great joy
Came here for brunch late January this year and months later I m still thinking about their French Toast special and lentil soup. I didn t even want to order the soup but my partner did and it was the right move! Worth a visit!
Entirely overpriced. $26 (before tax and tip) for a grilled cheese with caramelized onions is wild. The menu (at lunch time at least) felt limited and uninspiring. My friend did enjoy her meal, which was essentially ricotta spooned onto a plate with a salad and some bread, but did note it was expensive for what it was. I guess points for convenience if you are spending time around the old port and just want to fill your belly, but dang I would rather walk further for better food..or at least equally mediocre food at a less ridiculous price.
A beautiful pastry shop and a very busy spot but worth the wait. Food is great but the place is very small and has cramped seating arrangements.
slow service. overpriced food even for old port. half sized table for half portion of the meal.
Cute coffee shop
The panini here is really good, its the best Ive ever had. The croissant wasnt warm and was a bit hard. Panini Poached egg on your face 5/5 The Cuban Panini 5/5 Almond Croissant 3/5 Chocolatine 3/5 Sweet Ricotta 3/5
if ur gonna pay $20+ for a sammy, make sure it s here
Really cute little spot! We had breakfast here and it was delicious!!! My husband LOVED the cinnamon brioche and I got the egg on your face panini which was also super good!! We got a couple almond croissants to go and we must have gotten them on an off day because they werent very good. They were pretty dry and didnt have much flavor. Id definitely stick with the brioche!
Edit: came here again after a year and unfortunately the price is super high for worse quality imo. The drinks are so so, only the cuban sandwich is worth getting. - Recommended by our local friend! The cuban sandwich was by far the best panini ive ever had! The peach scone was also amazing, the place is busy and is a bit pricey though.
Within an hour of having the Salad 24, I was sick with food poisoning. What is worse is when I called them to let them know, they could not have cared less. Service was otherwise great.
We had an amazing breakfast. The sandwich was great and the almond croissant was to die for. Great place - Highly recommended.
Everything about this place is just awesome! The service was great, food is delicious, the baking good are so tasty, beautiful design, coffee is great. Love it! We were in Montreal for few days and had there breakfast twice, in addition rook some yummy baked good with us back home. Food
The wait for a table was worth it! The brunch was so delicious and we enjoyed everything we ordered!
Ive been there about fifteen times in my life and Ive never been disappointed. My most recent visit was 2024-08-05 and I had the Cuban Sandwich, lemonade and a brownie to finish. Everything was perfect, I give 10/10 for the food. There was a bit of a wait to get a table, which is always the case. I highly recommend this place, its worth the wait for a table to become available.
The Cuban sandwich costs $30 (tax incl.)! This is beyond crazy expensive!
Worst service Ive had in 7 years in Montreal. They take advantage of their location in the heart of Old Montreal to offer good food, but nothing more, at exorbitant prices. If only that were the case... the worst part clearly remains the service and the non-existent friendliness of the waiters. We have the impression of pissing them off more than anything else, no effort is made and the whispers about customers are not even made discreetly. My advice is to avoid this place. There are so many places in Montreal that are worth the detour 10 times more.
amazing brunch!!
Salty ricotta dish was so good. Sandwiches were nice but a bit heavy (lots of cheese and oil). Coffee was okay. Service and atmosphere was great!
We went for Sunday lunch in August and it was packed, but the line moved quickly so we only had to wait for about 15 minutes. The only bad thing was that it was pretty hot inside, but not too bad once we were seated and away from the windows at the entrance. The food was OUT OF THIS WORLD. We ate at some really nice places (including ones that were way way more expensive), but the food at Olive et Gourmand is what Im still dreaming about. We got the Salty Ricotta and the Deluxe salad. Make sure to add the cheese on the salad. I am not a big salad person but that salad changed my life. And the combination of flavors in the Salty Ricotta was divine. We got a berry pie bar too and it was good. Shoutout to the host/maitre d - Oshin? Not sure how to spell his name but he gave us some really good recommendations, handled the crowd waiting for tables very gracefully and patiently, and we loved watching him literally dance his way through the tables.
Easily one of the best cafe food I have had. Their panini is a must get. 10/10 would recommend!
Totally overpriced. The quality and portion sizes have decreased over time. They give half the size as they used to but increased the prices to something that doesn t make sense. Their almond croissants used to be very good, now they are dry and tasteless.
A waiter who refused to bring 2 tables of 2 people together to make one of 4 even though we were with a woman who was 8 months pregnant. Meals for almost $30 to take away. The value for money is not there at all.
Very cozy little café with very good cinnamon brioche and original and very good Cuban panini. The servers are super friendly and welcoming! Excellent brunch
Oh wow I thought it was a tourist trap and then I ended up getting the most amazing breakfast I ve ever had. I just want to come back here every day til I leave EDIT: we ended up going back twice! and it s still amazing! Our favorite restaurant in Montreal (after doing le violon, mon lapin, beba, toque, monarque, etc.)
This delightful and unpretentious place has truly delicious food. Fresh seasonal menu with thoughtfully made, flavorful dishes. Great service. A real winner all around!
My absolute favourite brunch spot in Old Montreal.. the Cuban is amazing as always.. lovely selection of coffee and pastries..
Amazing egg panini, pain au chocolat, and coffee. Loved the vibe. Was a bit busy though on Sunday and had to wait in line for a while.
My experience at Olive et Gourmando was quite disappointing. Despite expecting a wait, once we were seated, we weren t approached by a server for a good 10 minutes. The food and coffee were not memorable, and compared to other spots in the city, I found it lacking. Overall, it felt more like a tourist trap.
This place is so good for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or for having some tea/coffee with some sweets. They get really busy at times, but the service is fast and everyone end up having a great time. We ordered The Chicken Melt and The Cuban . Both were really fresh and delicious. We sat on the high chairs by the window and enjoyed the view of rue Notre Dame while having our lunch.
Disappointed with this visit. The salad, prepared in advance, is good but nothing more, a little dry. The waitress speaks to us in English even though we are clearly from here. Little presence. All very expensive ($60 for a sandwich and a salad!)
An excellent place for brunch in Old Montreal: the food, including the pastries, is really good, the decoration is neat, and the atmosphere is pleasant. Its a popular and touristy place so its best to go during the week to avoid the wait. The only downside would be the prices which are high but representative of the neighborhood. Its true that Im not used to paying $6 for a chocolatine.
Beautiful, perfect and delicious salad. As someone who eats a lot of salads AND does not like restaurant salads, that means the Deluxe salad is amazing. With tax it is 25$, so it would have to be. The place was very busy even at 3:00pm. The service from Ocean and the rest of the team was excellent. Truthfully, I wanted to try a few more things, but it was pricier than my budget.
Horrible service, they are victims of their own success. We were waiting for a seat for 4, but when a four seater table becomes available, they seated a party of 6 who came after us and removed the chairs that we were sitting on with the kids. Dont trust any restaurant that appears on tv.
Great little cafe. The breakfast was not too impressive Food
Cute restaurant for lunch and drinks. Good for kids that love grilled cheese sandwiches and pastries. The salmon bowl and chicken melt were delicious. Service was great. Kid-friendliness: Welcoming atmosphere. Grilled cheese sandwich and pastries available during lunch.
Very enjoyable experience. Definitely the best latte I ve ever had. We had the panini and it was great. We ll be returning for sure.
This place did great brunch, coffee pastries and more. The price of sandwiches ($25 for a grilled cheese) was quite steep. The hosts also need to calm down a bit with a bit of a diva attitude. I know your place is popular, but we are consumers and have choices. That being said, we had a great meal and the servers we had were lovely.
Loved the baked good, ambience and customer service. Everything is five stars.
Great breakfast spot that is both charming and practical. We got the almond croissant and the morning bun which were both tasty, lattes and a breakfast which was also delicious. Great service too. Some people were working there on their laptops, but mostly it was a quaint breakfast spot.
Very busy place 20 minute wait just for a table And sometimes more Sophisticated tastes and fresh ingredients, pretty presentation and its tasty. The place is tight and poorly ventilated no air conditioning and the music of Donna Summer Love to Love on a really intense non-stop loop. Its expensive to be crushed in the emergency exit door, no air, no ice cubes in the glasses. But it was a great experience that I dont think Ill repeat. The service on the other hand was impeccable.
This venue was the highlight of our trip to Montreal. We went back twice as the food and service were outstanding. They serve a great range of vegan and non-vegan options too.
The little potato salad was delicious but I left with a headache: too loud music, too much noise.
Be sure to try the 24 Salad. Its so delicious
Very good I recommend.
Delicious
Yes the French toast is that good. Worth the short wait.
Very cute and has excellent food. We got the Salty Ricotta and the Cubano and both were great.
Phil from Somebody feed Phil sent me here! And he did not lie! The Cuban sandwich was sooo good! I now recreate this at home for my kids lunch at school or just to munch on but the one at the resto taste always better their scone and potato salad were also so good! I will definitely be coming back.
Food is super underwhelming The egg dishes are confused on flavour Chia bowl was good Food : 1/5
Charming little cafe with amazing coffee and pastries. Had breakfast on my last day in Montreal. The ambiance is reminiscent of a small European cafe. Wish I had found it earlier. Will definitely revisit when I come back to Montreal
Olive and Gourmando is a nice spot for breakfast and lunch. Despite being busy, the service was fast. We enjoyed our cappuccinos and almond croissants, which were delicious. The Cuban sandwich was a standout packed with flavor and oozing with cheese. Overall, a great place for a tasty meal.
Popped in for lunch on a Friday and it was very busy but as it was just me I didn t have to wait to be seated. The staff were super friendly and when it became clear I could speak and understand French to an extent they made an effort to talk to me and help me practice my French! I got the Salad 24 which was absolutely massive and one of the best, if not the best, salad(s) I ve ever had. I took my time eating and enjoying the meal and although the staff checked up on me I didn t feel rushed to leave or that I was taking up space. The waitress took the time to talk me through the dessert options and I finished with their lemon and currant scone which was delicious and left the cafe about 2 hours after arriving. Cannot highlight enough how friendly and welcoming the staff were and how good the food was!! Probably my favorite dining experience of my entire trip, I would definitely return again if I could. I came for lunch on a Friday and it was very busy, but since it was just me I didnt have to wait to be seated. I took my time eating and enjoying the meal and although the staff checked on me, I didnt feel rushed to leave or that I was taking up space. The waitress took the time to tell me about the dessert options and I finished with their lemon and blackcurrant scone which was delicious and left the cafe about 2 hours after arriving. I cant stress enough how friendly and welcoming the staff were and how good the food was! Probably my favorite dining experience of my entire trip, I would definitely come back if I could.
Excellent & delicious all around!
After not coming here for about a year and a half, I was stunned to see the price of a grilled cheese! $26.95! Wow! If you re going to charge that it should be overflowing with cheese as always ! Not the case this time..1 salad 1 grilled cheese 2 cans of carbonated water 75$
We arrived right before it opened and there was a small line up forming. We were seated and the staff began to take orders right away. Coffees and other drinks came out fairly quickly. We ordered the cuban sandwich and a sconewich. The cuban sandwich was so zesty and comforting. The pressed sandwich was definite my favourite. Great amount of cheese and meat and the sauce was a good complement. Sconewich was something new we tried, we will try to replicate it at home as it was a good combination.
Ordered sweet ricotta! Been so addicted to ricotta lately and this one is so good with a strong orange fragrance! Would definitely try to make it at home! Love it! The yogurt bowl is also good!
Everything was sooo freaking Delicious!!
Unfortunately food is not edible Music is incredibly loud Food
Cute and quaint. Smashed Potato salad is a must. Cuban sandwich was delish. Salted Ricotta was also great with salty caramelized onions in the salad served with it. Our servers were all very kind. Great music. Windows were open letting in a breeze. Decor and overall feel was very cute. Spent $100 ordering 3 dishes, coffee, orange juice and a pasterie to go. Not a cheap spot but definitely worth the visit.
Great overall
Went to this Cafe today. The food was delicious and the place was so comfortable.
Pickpocketing place
Overall we came here because of somebody feed Phil and can t imagine how busy it would be during high season. We opted our order to go. The hosts were very kind and friendly. I had the Cuban. - amazing sandwich. Would I spend $27 good? Nah, but whatever. We are on vacation. Wife had the salad. - there was hardly any chicken which was a bummer. Maybe not the most gluten friendly restaurant. Kids had a grilled cheese. - they liked it. Quite small.
