A lot of FUN! And great food! The « fausse truffe au gingembre » dessert was incredible.

Was very pleasantly surprised by impeccable service and delicious food. Not cheap but honestly what is these days? Appreciate the attention to detail.

Super good restaurant

We were there a few weeks ago to mark our first relationship anniversary, my boyfriend and I. We had a reservation at 8:45 p.m. We got our table after 10 p.m. About an hour and a half wait!? I have rarely waited this long and the few times it has happened is that we didnt have a reservation. That s kind of the principle of this service, not having to wait. We were offered a drink. Thats nice. But if I can afford the MTL Plaza, it s because I can pay for my drinks. And on at least two occasions, we had the impression that couples who arrived after us were seated before us. Favoritism for regulars? In short, it had a negative impact on our evening. There are more important problems in life, indeed. But the fact remains that it was a first for me. And there are enough good restaurants in Montreal, with equal if not better food quality, that I will avoid this place in the future.

The portions are insulting. You know it s not a good sign when you have to go to McDonald s after a $400 dinner for two.

Congratulations to Montreal Plaza for winning the top spot in my list of Worst Restaurants in the World . I had high hopes for this coveted address in Montreal and went with people who were loyal fans. A first impression that s filled with promise quickly turns into a bizarre experience that doesn t live up to the hype let alone basic expectations of the simplest restaurant. Zero lack of understanding regarding a gluten allergy despite asking if it was an intolerance or allergy. My dishes were served incorrectly marked Gluten-Free when they clearly weren t, and they just said oops . I should have just stopped at the 2nd course as they clearly had no idea and didn t know what they were doing. Either painfully bland dishes were served with long waits between courses to the point that boredom sets in, then the highlight was the arrival of the duck - words cannot describe this monstrosity - I thought it had to be a joke for Halloween but alas, it was not. Slices of grey, overcooked duck, with suspicious blobs of green and white substances, served on a sauce that had an Asian influence, topped with cheese that made the whole plate look like a regurgitated experiment or something a sick animal would produce and need medical attention. Needless to say, this dish was said to be gluten free and it was not - it was, hands down an assault on the senses on every level - I am not even sure you d want to eat that at 3am after a night out. No one could stomach it and by the time it was taken away the pain set in. Staff denied any possible cross contamination and laughed it off - a hell of a lot less funny for me who will now struggle with the poisoning for the next 3-12 weeks. Much better to say you don t cater to food allergies versus poisoning people. With a bill that s as violent as it s confusing food concoctions one wonders if they should advise their diners to bring their own vaseline for every step this gastronomic shit show.

What a great first visit to Montréal Plaza. Meticulously prepared dishes, of certain creativity and very tasty. Exceptional service on all fronts from greeting to goodbye . Unique atmosphere, special decors, it s beautiful wherever we look.

I love the vibe of this restaurant. And it s kid friendly. The drink and food was well made and perfectly cooked. I highly recommend this restaurant. I would come back for sure.

My partners birthday celebration was spoiled by our server. We also had her bestfriend from out of the country visiting at the same time. I had planned a dinner at Montreal plaza - hearing all the great reviews & recommendations by friends. We were disappointed in his overall demeanour and professionalism. He had recommended that we order about 5-8 sharing plates for the meal. We had ordered 5 plates (to start), but we felt as if there was a lack of interest in us as he deemed we didnt order enough. As we were having our meal, we were praising the food that was served but was welcomed with a passive aggressive undertone. We felt as if we were a nuisance being served. Also to note that his phone was playing a Pitbull song whilst inside his pockets. We didn t know whether he had forgotten to put his phone on silent, but proceeded to serve the table beside us with the same music blaring pretty loud on his phone without notice. Although this was the case, the food, the host and food expeditors were very on point. The brussel sprouts, the welks, the yakitori, and the chicken liver mousse were the highlights of our dinner. Shout out to the rest of the team that gave us excellent service. I m not one to write a review unless Ive experienced something thats unacceptable, but unfortunately the vibe was tainted by the server playing I know you want me by Pittbull on his phone speaker. The lack of service led us to decide to opt out for dessert and cut our dinner short. The candle and song for celebration were definitely appreciated but simultaneously only a bill and an empty smile from our server was dessert. We would definitely try again with a different server overseeing our experience.

Average service, nice creative menu but tiny portions. Be warned, this restaurant is very expensive for what you get. There are much better options in MTL if you are looking for a nice dinner out.

Oh the beautiful culinary experience! extraordinary dishes, as succulent as the perfect aesthetic. Very impressed by the creativity of this restaurant. Ditto for the atmosphere, and excellent service. Such friendly staff that makes us want to go back! And this Charles-Antoine Crête, this chic guy who comes to greet his customers. Honestly, a 5-star through and through, I highly recommend!

Congratulations to the entire Montreal plaza brigade, from the kitchen to the chef who walks around the room to take time with customers to our waitress Gabriella who guides us with passion and competence. Our 10th will be a moment that will remain engraved in our memory for a long time.

The portions are tiny and the taste of the dishes is bland. Except for the cool and bohemian atmosphere, the food is very mundane and ordinary. I wont go back there. There are much better gastronomic addresses in town!

I love this place! Excited atmosphere, unparalleled service, exceptional food. The drinks were excellent, even the non-alcoholic options (the Strawberry Cassis one was particularly delicious). We shared the scallops and rice, the salad with panko egg, pan-fried foie gras, the blood sausage, the poultry, and the rabbit. Special mention for the rabbit. The salad could have been a little more seasoned, but thats my only comment.

Absolutely FANTASTIC French bistro. Warm casual ambiance. Friendly and helpful staff. Food was sublime. We had beef (lamb) tartare which was delightful with tasty lentil chips. Walleye tempura was perfectly done- moist inside with just the right coating. The rabbit meatballs were superb. Incredible wine list. This is a MUST try place. Way beyond 5 stars!!

Very noisy place. Slow, but friendly service. We see that effort is put into the dishes, but the talent in the kitchen is simply not there. It s culinaryly uninteresting.

The wine selection and side dishes are great. Meat mains have very little meat for the price. Flavour combinations are creative. Service is knowledgeable and kind.

Noisy too loud Very poor service. Servers would benefit from training. When you lie down on the table to arrange the opposite cutlery, this raises questions . Only the dishes defend this address very honorably. Even if they would benefit from simplification... In short, average value for money for a recommended address. She doesnt hold her own.

The desserts are excellent However, we had a reservation and despite this they made us wait more than 45 minutes before being seated without offering us anything to apologize, not even a shooter. At the end of the meal, we shared our dissatisfaction with the manager and he babbled for 15 minutes to justify why he wouldnt accommodate us instead of just apologizing and providing good customer service. At the price this restaurant costs, if we go there we can afford alcohol, not have to endure a manager who gives you the impression that you are begging. It just ruined our experience which actually started off badly. There are a lot of overrated restaurants in Montreal that at least treat their customers better.

A real treat for the senses, in a rather relaxed atmosphere. All the advantages of a star restaurant without the disadvantages since they are not applicable here.

Regulars of the place in its early days, we have not been back for the last 4 years. The quality of execution is no longer there and certain fusion-type dishes left us questioning and a little put off. Particularly the duck, lost in a mustardy Asian-raclette type mixture. Barely finished, the plates are taken away from us. For the price (a good $500 for 2), we think there are much better places in Montreal. This saddens us a little because we have a lot of affection for the place and its creator... The place seems to us to have become another place to be.

Five of us just spent four days in Montreal, dropping 650 to 1100 for each meal. This was, by far, the best one we had. With Mason Publique closed, this is now my favorite restaurant in Montreal. Manager was friendly and helpful. Our server was wonderful. The tomato and tuna appetizer was spectacular. Loved the corn foam. The scallop over sushi rice was inspired. They just turn out great plate after great plate. Wonderful flavor combinations and fresh fruits and vegetables.

Indigestible food but friendly service

The meal was very good. But you really have to take several dishes to have enough to eat and so it quickly becomes expensive. I ordered an ice cream bomb for 2 people for dessert because it said it was melon ice cream. And I love melon ice cream . But while eating it was pear ice cream .

Obviously, the Montréal Plaza has nothing to do with a Saint-Hubert except its assertive and assertive family aspect. In two steps, three movements, the message is relayed to the maître dhôtel (presumably) who comes dressed in affability and candor to comment on the dessert menu and offer us a free drink as compensation. This is the refinement and good manners that we expect from a great restaurant, that and, of course, the food. Appetizers prepared with care and know-how, and the pleasure that increases: A curiosity, asparagus mousse makes us discover what it would be like to eat asparagus in mousse form. The duck and caviar flies away like a bird chased by forks. A gibelotte visually, but full of flavors. The princess scallops (off the menu), with strawberries in the spotlight, lead us to savor them raw in a vinegary preparation. Another curiosity. A great classic, miso bourgots, arouses the greatest enthusiasm on the palate and a nod of the head accompanies each bite. Tab + cheese, meat cooked and prepared as it should be, wrapped in a layer of cheese. A treat (and my dining companion s favorite). The foie gras + rhubarb whose slightly sweet brioche bread attracted the most attention with a reiteration of strawberries and floral presentation. Poultry with its sherry wine sauce ah! I am a big fan of this sauce and this chicken! The apples were also perfectly prepared, thin and soft. Let s move on to desserts! The Fruit Crispy stated as being their most popular, a fruity sorbet on a foamy bed of white chocolate in which meringue rusks were frozen. A most successful play of texture and freshness. The fake truffle infused with creamy chocolate which the eyes and tongue were equally delighted with. Say, how many were we? Two. A large and a small stomach; you need a long list of dishes to eat your fill... The advantage is obviously the possibility of tasting a wide range of culinary goodness. The disadvantage is obviously the bill which increases as much as the stomach: $170 per person, two drinks included, before a well-deserved tip. In short, the Montreal Plaza is a table for special occasions, or a Saturday evening outing for families with healthy wallets. At this point, I think its worth mentioning that her sister, Juliette Plaza, offers discounted prices without it cutting into the fun. This is where we may meet again soon! A big thank you to the entire team for their dedication. Vegetarian options: Especially in the daily specials... Asparagus mousse, zucchini flowers, etc. In short, seasonal vegetables. Parking: Free parking on Saint-André, near Bellechasse. Kid-friendliness: Yes! Yes Yes Yes. Pencils provided. Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, ground level access. One of the rare places in Montreal.

A REAL flat farce! From time to time, I like to eat at Toqué, Europea, Maison Boulud, Primo & Secondo, etc. But the Montreal Plaza is a disgrace to fine gourmet cuisine (bland and sloppy presentation) and where the service is very incompetent and cold... all with a very high bill for nothing on the plate. The tables are very crowded and the atmosphere is rather cold. Why would I go back? No chance! After this bad experience, I suspect the 5/5 reviews are dishonestly fabricated.

Lack of generosity on the plates. The food is good and the service is very good but it s such a shame to lack deliciousness on the plates it was outrageously lacking in generosity! For the same style, there are better places elsewhere and not far away!

My experience at the Montreal Plaza restaurant was simply extraordinary. The service is exceptional and impeccable, and each plate is presented beautifully. All the dishes we tried were absolutely delicious. The chefs creativity is remarkable, with innovative flavor combinations that surprise and delight with every bite. It is without a doubt one of the best restaurants in Montreal. Whether for a special occasion or simply for a memorable meal, I highly recommend Montréal Plaza. I am actually surprised how packed this place is and all the good reviews. Ambiance is very cool. We did a pre-fixe meal for 130 CAD Now you have certain expectations for that kind of meal. It was 6 courses. The dessert was amazing, best part of the meal 5/5. The rest of the meal was just okay. Nothing stood out. The part that was most bothersome is how extremely slow the service was. Our reservation was at 845. We didn t get out of there until past 1130 and that was with us requesting to pay the bill prior to dessert because we needed to leave. No one wants to watch a 3 hour movie or eat a 3 hour dinner.

This is the 4th time at this restaurant that I normally love, but this time Im seriously wondering what happened... kitchen-wise, the restaurant has lost a lot. The discovery menu left us hungry, nothing exceptional and even the duck was a very very confusing dish, which was not that good. Its a shame. Excellent service, very good wine, and good atmosphere.

Unfortunately, the Montreal Plaza has greatly lost its refinement in recent years. In particular, we were served an absolutely incomprehensible duck dish as a tasting menu; an insult to the duck. Price much too high for the cuisine offered Montreal is full of much better and much cheaper restaurants. Too bad, because the service was professional and the setting pleasant.

Great experience for the 2nd time at Montreal Plaza. I have several food intolerances and they not only adapted the dishes for me but they were even better than the other diners. The service is impeccable, the cuisine is refined, complex and fresh. A real good time for my birthday.

Very good service, excellent atmosphere and very nice room. On the other hand, dishes far too small and far too expensive for the quantity. Its excellent but you come away with a feeling of being left hungry. Its a shame because the quality is really there.

Extremely fun, and delicious meal. All of the food was interesting, new, beautifully presented, and tasty. We did the sharing menu, which I can be apprehensive about due to the cost. But there was truly a lot of food. It was 5 services plus dessert, but a couple of the services were actually two different dishes served at the same time, so it ended up being about 8 dishes. Totally unpretentious, I can see why so many people go for celebrations.

The time when the Plaza was one of Montreals good addresses is over. Terrible service, pretentious and disrespectful of customer requests, bland and infinitely overpriced food, vulgar mark ups on the bottles. $450 for two people to eat sensibly while drinking a bottle is no. Run away!

Very mixed feelings but ultimately I will not go back nor would I recommend. The food is good, no complaints on taste or quality. However any main course is portioned off as if it were a tin of cat food. The wine is overpriced and its clearly gouging. The cherry on the cake was the very slow service. The issue here is the cost relative to the experience you get is hilariously pathetic. I doubt the owner will care but this review is honest unlike all those 5 star reviews with no comments

Hands down one of my favourite places in Montreal. The food is amazing, the deserts are mind blowing and eccentric decor just really adds to it all!

Exceptional place and gastronomy! What great times we had! We also had the privilege of having Charles-Antoine Crête for a few minutes at our table to mark our mothers 79th birthday!!! Everything was PERFECT! Parking: On St-Hubert Street or in the 2 public parking lots on St-André Street

I truly dont understand the hype here. For the price this place is a serious let down. After being seated no one came to see us to get a drink order for 25 minutes. We ordered five dishes as per the waiters recommendation and waited another 20 between hot courses. Our water was refilled twice during the entire meal. The food was nothing to write home about. The crab salad was good but their vol au vent is nothing more than a pot pie with frozen vegetables and more hard boiled egg than scallops. The tartare was buried in shavings of squash with so little fish it just felt like a rip off. As far as ambiance goes its one of the loudest places Ive been to in years. You need to yell just to hear your dinner date. Definitely not a place for an intimate dinner for two. Every time someone orders a dessert they turn up the music to 11 and the server walks around with a bomb that serves no purpose other than flash and fanfare. Overall this place is all style and no substance. At over $100 per person I would not recommend it and will not be returning. If you want to have the proper version of a place like this, go to Vin Mon Lapin.

The ENTIRE team was amazing!! They are patient and friendly and incredibly well organized! It really was a group effort to provide such excellent service. And the FOOD! so incredibly creative and my favorite aspect was the way they paired sweet and salty together! Définite must have is the pear and olive dessert!!! A true work of art

The grilled salsify was very good but unfortunately the trout and beef tartares had very little taste... At that price I expected a lot more. On the other hand, very nice presentations.

We went there with the girls for a friends 40th with a reservation. We realize that there are regulars and friends of the owner, who even without reservations go before you and are served before too. After pressure from the waitress to order at least 6 or even 7 dishes, the dishes arrive. The taste is good but then the portions! The dinosaur scallop plate or whatever, its 3 pieces of scallop carpaccio spread out on a plastic dino. 25 ca! What really upset me was that they were slow to serve us and that after 2 hours, when we had just ordered dessert, we were told that the table was reserved, that people arrived and he made us change tables. Ive never seen that in my life. So we moved to a mini table right next to the servers to eat our macaron tower. I was so shocked that I accepted this. First and last time. Do you want to eat well for 100 CAD? Go to Moccione, Hoogan and beaufort or knuckles, people treat you well.

We were in the private room decor of an old average garage nice atmosphere to eat we had the tasting menu the food was ok but nothing more the desserts were better but still not the best I have eaten the service was very slow.vu the price I hoped for better in short I would not recommend this restaurant

It was delicious and great service. It was worth the cost. Great experience and just a stones throw from Vacarme, the best record store in town!

Had a 9:00pm reservation for 4, arrived 8:55 and waited over 12 minutes till we were actually seated. Upon being seated another 5-6 minutes with no service until I actively asked them to come to us. Our server was remarkably friendly and really does his job really well. Food is however below our expectations. In our opinion some of the food lacks salt and is just overly simple with flavoring. It could be our own preference, but food is not the biggest issue. Wait time between dishes are up to 20 minutes. Foie gras - a rather fast dish to assemble - was in my opinion completely frogotten/omitted after we ordered, and was assembled only after we mentioned the fact that every other dish is already finished except that. Then there was the beef tartare. The portion was rather small, and the egg is not adequately mixed into the beef. Not really pleasing for its price point. One of the plates of my friend is not cleaned properly too. I have to praise the waiter again. After knowing the unpleasant experience weve had, he handled it really well and even removed a dish from our bill. In general, the place has good vibe, good environment and some of the best servers. The indoor open kitchen design is also really neat. However, it seemed like it could need more staffing, as service is slow and in certain areas sloppy. Also food is underwhelming for the high expectations.

Did not eat here. Called the maître d to send drinks / desert to special friends of mine and guests of theirs for the evening. Took my CC information - never sent anything. Humiliating to say the least. Simple gestures like this speak volume in hospitality. Such a disappointment

Poor performance. A stressed out, stressful waitress, wine was common and no recommendation. The food is okay but not exceptional, as are the cocktails. Its certainly not a big table and compared to the restaurant menu like Denises or the cocktails at Ratafias, and a bunch of other restaurants in Montreal, its not up to par. We took the tasting menu, we were told about fish and seafood but we were served a large plate of meat, very heavy and not very fine in consistency. A banal experience at $250 per person.

The atmosphere is good and the menu is excellent, tapas style our 6 courses were perfect. But what took our experience to the next level was the impeccable service. This is the most proactive and caring team we have ever seen. Truly impressive! It is not to save money that we will return there, but to relive this memorable experience. I never write reviews about restaurants we try, but were getting there and this time I had to comment.

It is a restaurant I definitely recommend. I will start with the unique decor, which always triggers our eyes. You will know what I talk about when you visit. The food is great, quite pricey, but definitely a must for foodie. The staff is very motivated, nice and helpful. They know how to describe the meal to attract your attention. The only thing I found annoying was the parking. It is not easy to find one, especially during winter, so I recommend coming with public transportation.

Every dish was so creative and some were surprisingly light and healthy :) We tried the bourgots, oysters, cannelloni, raviolo, halibut, and popcorn tartare. Everything was delicious and the berry dessert was to die for. Great for birthday celebrations, they make it a big deal here haha

Tasting menu to try

Extremely disappointed by this restaurant, we only had good reviews. We took the tasting menu at $130/person, for 5 hot dishes + desserts, meaning that the first 3 dishes are more appetizers than main courses. The meal was extremely slow, around 3 hours, which means that we were no longer hungry and had barely eaten anything yet. The products are of undeniable quality, but the dishes are nothing extraordinary, we eat well, thats all. On the other hand, the service was excellent, nothing to complain about. For over $300 total, its definitely not worth the price.

One of the best restaurants in Montreal in my humble opinion. The food, decor and service are impeccable. What makes it stand out from other restaurants is definitely the creativity of the dishes and the way they are served. Nothing to complain about for the quality/price ratio. Even if it is gastronomy the atmosphere is not haughty, which is very appreciated.

This place is absolutely exceptional - from the ambiance, to the service (my water was never empty and my napkin always folded), to the food (every bite was delicious) and the wine list - this place tops the charts. We have the set menu which was one of the best I have had anywhere and the deserts were also bang on. This could easily be the best restaurant in Montreal.

Food was good, maybe portion sizes could be bigger for the price. The chocolate bombs that came out for birthdays at tables were a lot, especially when the music was turned up even louder. But overall a good experience.

Overall good experience but the food took awhile to come and the dessert we had was quite disappointing. All the food was good, except the bourgot was really tough to chew. The food took around 40 mins. We got the bombe alaska for two for dessert and both the size and taste were disappointing. A) it advertises that it s for two but it s still quite small, especially considering it costs $32. I ve had bigger portions elsewhere for a lower price even but I m guessing you re paying more for the performance? B) the taste was alright, not good but not bad; until you dip into what s on the side for a mouthful of bitterness and alcohol. But honestly, for that price, I was hoping that it d taste better in general. The dessert also took 30 mins to serve, we almost left before it finally came to the table. Overall, I d recommend this place because the atmosphere is nice and the food is generally pretty good. With that said, I m not sure how much that reflects the price tags since it seems that they continue to inflate over the last few months.

Legit one of the best restaurant experiences Ive ever had. Walking into the restaurant the whole vibe was energetic and exciting. The decor is eclectic, interesting, and fun. The service was impeccable. The food was outrageously good it was almost upsetting how perfect every dish was, so full of flavors and well-balanced and perfectly portioned. We celebrated a birthday and they did not disappoint. Would gladly celebrate everything here.

Great experience. Attentive and friendly service, just enough not to take itself too seriously. We opted for the tasting menu (5 courses +1 appetizer +1 dessert so what could be considered 6 or 7 courses elsewhere). Every course was absolutely delicious. Big crush on halibut. We taste certain flavors of Toqué and Laprise while being distinctive with its own signature. An evening not far from perfection, the service being a little quick between courses, but nothing that deserves to remove a star! I highly recommend and will definitely return! Well done to the whole team, one of the excellent restaurants in Montreal.

The food was beyond amazing. My favourite dish was the scallops ( and I dont even like seafood) it was just divine, best scallops Ive eaten in my life. Their desserts are also not to be missed!

I was told that they could do a good vegetarian degustation menu so I tried it. I ended up paying 130$ (+tax +tips) for 3 asparagus, some mushroom and a salad. I had to order bread because i was still hungry. The vibe is nice, but the food was meh. Very disappointing experience.

I had already eaten at this restaurant once a few years ago. I had so many good memories of it that my expectations were perhaps too high. Obviously the menu had changed and apparently it changes regularly which makes the place even more interesting. In terms of atmosphere, service, nothing to complain about. One of the best services I have received in restaurants. On the other hand, I was extremely disappointed by the regular menu and the discovery menu that I tried. The dishes were so greasy, lots of fried foods too. Fried squid at Montréal Plaza doesn t fit for me. In fact for me the entire menu design doesnt work at all. It was so, so greasy and heavy. Mayo-based sauce which appeared in almost all dishes. I was extremely disappointed. There are 3 dishes that I didnt like at all to the point of not being able to eat more than one bite. On the other hand, as the menu changes, I am confident that they will do better next time. On the other hand, for my part I wont take the risk of coming back, my stomach still hurts... Thanks all the same to the whole team. They are simply fantastic. And the place with its eclectic decoration is more than charming. Go ahead and make up your own mind :) Parking: We drove for a good 20 minutes to find parking and finally ended up in a place where parking was prohibited but fortunately no ticket .

The service is very attentive, the atmosphere is relaxed and the food is excellent. However, the only reason why I dont give 5 stars is the fact that we find the same ingredients in several dishes. For example, there were 3 out of 5 dishes with strawberries, which gets boring. However, I recommend this restaurant, you will have a wonderful evening!

Not only a worm in our dessert they also completely overlooked an ingredient we specifically said to omit from our meal. This was quite a disappointing experience. I took a friend here to treat her as a thank you. When ordering the 5 course menu, we reported that my friend does not east cilantro. Even after telling our server this they proceeded to bring out at least two courses with cilantro in it. We figured it was a mistake and we d let it slide. We could visibly see cilantro again on a third course and finally said something. The worst part is that there was a small WORM that was alive and moving in our dessert plate. They replaced our dessert but I was expecting more of compensation after I had told them they overlooked our aversion to cilantro and served us a worm. Still ended up paying a lot of money for such a disappointing meal and experience. I literally said sorry to my friend as we were leaving. If my friend was allergic to cilantro and didn t just dislike it, there would have been a much much bigger problem on their hands.

The quality/price ratio is excellent. The service is impeccable, the food is good, the portions generous and the atmosphere is great! Never disappointed with this place.

I went to eat at this restaurant for the birthday of one of my relatives. The service was fast and the wait between each dish was OK. Very professional staff, I had a good evening.

We popped in for dessert, and the strawberry/basil cake was mind-blowing!

Exceptional service! Cocktail were a bit of a disappointment. For 16$ a drink you would expect either the quantity to follow either the taste to be out of this world and it was neither. Food was delicious appart for a slight misunderstanding regarding one plate. Dessert were okay. I personally chose the kouign aman and I found the fruit jam in it didn t go with it. Definitely an experience to try but I m not sure I would go back by choice.

Let me start with my appreciation for the passion and skill it takes to create a menu so complex and bold. Lots of unique combinations and daring dishes. The food was excellent; 10/10. There is something missing with the flow. We arrived at 9pm and ordered at 9:05pm. The server was excellent annd professional. Our drinks came at 9:15pm with the oysters. Great start! It took another 30 mins for the fois gras. Another 40 mins for scallops and mushrooms. Another 30 mins for bourguignon and salad. Each with a plate change. I appreciate the attention to detail, but you re missing the bigger picture. More than half an hour between courses is just unacceptable for this scale of dining. We had an almost 3 hour dinner service, for 6 dishes. We were starving for 80% of our service, and tables beside us were complaining about the exact same thing. I do not fault the service or kitchen staff, this is a problem with standards and expectations of management/owners. Amazing food, great team but hopefully some reflection with your menu. I suspect having 10 daily specials on top of a regular menu filled with complex dishes/ingredients is excessive and overwhelming your young kitchen team. They delivered exceptional quality, but we won t be returning anytime soon and I can promise half of the patrons tonight feel the same way. No one wants to eat dinner past midnight. Even for Europeans, that s too much.

The service was great and the food was incredible. We went for dinner at around 9pm with a reservation. We thought because it was a little later than usual it wouldnt be busy but the place was bumping! I love the little decor items in the place, it makes it super fun. The menu items were delcious - they have daily specials that are out of this world. Thank you!

This place. Is so. Excellent. Right from the start, we could not stop looking around at the details of the space. We met our absolutely fantastic bartender/host, Carole, who promised to make it happen for us and our dietary restrictions. We had everything we could fit and it was all so delicious. I wish I had an actual empty leg to fit more food. I m telling all my friends or not. Because I want to get back in again ASAP. Dietary restrictions: So accommodating.

We tried Montreal Plaza for the first time and took the opportunity to try their tasting menu with their food and wine pairing. The sake served as a pairing was delicious, very sweet and went very well with the dishes served. The dessert duo was light and fresh. The service was very attentive. We left there well fed and satisfied.

Fine dining experience with a fun cool atmosphere. We asked for recommendations from the waiter and it was spot on for food, wine and desert. Music was really cool everybody seemed to be enjoying it. They play cool music for your birthday and bring a cake with a candle. I had a great time and I would love to go back.

We visited here on our Mini moon, cant put it all to words the amazing time we had here celebrating. We had the tasting menu and added yakitori. Everything is so well thought out from the food to the decorations and atmosphere. Each dish complemented the next and it was well worth every penny. Charles also was there and greeted us and said hello to our little guy, its great to see him and his partner are still so very involved and there love for the place shows. A memorable dining experience id recommend to anyone. Kid-friendliness: We had a 3.5 month old with a stroller. They accommodated us nicely

This is not a restaurant for a simple everyday meal, it is an experience. The service is impeccable, but its not chic. The atmosphere is warm, accessible, the servers make jokes, dont take themselves seriously, while ensuring they offer the level of a great restaurant. The food is good, the presentations are neat. Its quite expensive, but in the restaurant category, its quite reasonable.

We ordered the tasting menu and WOW! The blend of flavors was perfect and unique. What can we say about the presentation which was sublime. Several local products. Service is especially amazing. We had a wonderful evening and are already looking forward to repeating the experience.

Definitely one of my favorite addresses in Montreal! Whether they are delicious and comforting like the cauliflower gratin or delicate and fine like the grilled fish, the dishes are superb visually and in taste! The service is uninhibited but nevertheless efficient: the different dishes are explained to us perfectly, with a smile and good humor!

Montréal Plaza has always been a sure bet for delicious food and fun ambiance. Now Id like to give more props to them for their amazing service. We did the tasting menu- and it was a special occasion. We felt really rushed/ they were dropping the food courses 2 at time. It was a tiny table- so this made it feel crowded- and really hurried. Also- by the time we finished one dish- the other they had brought with it was cold. The room is quite bright- and tables are really close together, and the music is pretty load- so not the most intimate or romantic vibe. Service was very attentive. The food is really interesting ( if not down right odd) and beautifully prepared. We arrived at 6:15- and we had been served 5 courses by 7:15. Tooooo rushed, it spoiled the overall experience.

Was visiting my hometown and had a chance to have dinner with an old friend. I wanted to just say thank you to the wonderful people of Montreal Plaza! We placed ourselves in the hands of the chef and had the best 5 course meals with exceptional service. Plaza has the vibe and ambience of the places we could afford in our youth with the exceptional food and service of the Michelin 3 restaurants we both now enjoy. It has the grace, presence and wonderful food without the pomposity. The weeknight experience was just so much fun! The place was hopping with seemingly every table with large parties celebrating something. Music would break our and cakes brought out. Yet, it was subtle and quiet enough for two people to just catch up and chat ..This is best attributed to an exceptional physical plant and an amazing wait staff who move between English and French with ease.

Toqué! Alumni Charles-Antoine Crête managed to create the extraordinary in a lieu where you wouldn t even begin to think it was possible. And it made a reputation of its own for quite some time and it s fully and well deserved. Amazing service, and original cuisine. One of Montreal s finest restaurants.

1st experience in this establishment about which I have only heard good things. I must admit that the dishes lived up to my expectations and even beyond for some. To taste a bit of everything, we chose the menu to share. The dishes arrived at a good pace, unfortunately I didnt remember the name of the dishes but it was delicious. The impeccable and attentive service, the waiter even brought us a surprise guest (see photo).

A night i want to forget. Had my reservation at 8:45pm. They said a table will be free soon, i get to wait next to the kitchen, not so bad. 9:20 i get seated. I wait. Couple sits down next to me, they get to order. I wait. Am i invisible? 9:30 i am so hungry, and ignored, i want to cry or leave. I call for service, i am upset at this point, the gentleman comes immediately, he is not happy. The couple next to me get served. It was hard to watch this double standard. I get my entree at 9:45 and i have dinner at 10pm. The gentleman never checks on me but the one who sat me down does, he knows am upset. So he was the only nice part of this nightmare. This is not a place you want to dine solo so maybe my mistake but i have heard good things and was in the area so wanted to try. But i have never left a restaurant feeling so bad about myself, even the food tasted bland when u r so blatantly ignored. Also ironic, with a bill of a $100 i was almost close to the couple who were sharing everything, so why treat me differently? Because i dont have the power of 2 or 3?

Must try especially on your birthday! My favourite was the dessert raspberry sorbet was to die for! I highly recommend the shared menu as it s the best way to go to get the full experience!
