Whenever my family and I are coming home from Montreal, we always make sure to stop in for lunch. It's a family favorite of ours. The food is always great, the place is a good sized restaurant. Huge shout-out to the manager Wayne for being a wonderful man/manager, who always remembers us.
Just ordered from there with Dash. Sigh! Ok Wonton soup- broth very nice tasting , dumplings firm but 90% dough. 6/10 Spring Rolls- crispy and tasty 9/10 Peanut butter dumplings (Pork)- same doughy dumplings and the sauce (OMG) horrible, watery and no taste, worse taste ever, 1/10 Peanut butter chicken - OMG again same sauce, no taste, watery & terrible. Chicken I stopped once chewing gristle! Stomach churning! 0-/10 General Tao- wholly wholly darn! Nothing but dough! I mean come on.. seems like cheap store bought brand! That is my standard for this kind of restaurant. Sauce not bad , decent flavours and not a sugar bomb like some are. 4/10 Fried rice- it was not bad poorly mixed nothing great but compared with other items was better. 7/10 Fries noodles- tasteless, dry. And since neither main dish has ANY sauce (as bad as they were) couldn’t cover it up. 4/10 80$ with tip delivered (delivery was fast) Overall- I had hopes but soon to be crushed! Don’t order but that is my opinion!
I have always ordered food from this place but this time we ate at the restaurant for my friend’s birthday celebration. The service was super prompt. The restaurant was big and spacious and pretty neat compared to the other Chinese restaurants in the same area. We ordered tons of food to share, on our turning table. Everything was good, my top dishes were shrimp pepper and eggplant general Tao. Definitely recommended.
the food was pretty good and they were able to keep the spice level mild. I have to say tho that the staff was a bit pushy asking us to make our order faster even though it wasn't anytime close to their closing hour. Probably won't be back.
ate dinner friday night with some friends!!! prices were so low for a really good amount of food!!! food was tasty, not too greasy not too heavy! the service was so welcoming, nice and helpful!! passed by with water quite often and were really attentive. would definitely recommend, one of the best chinese places ive ever tried
The food was very good, service too. They always checked to see if we needed anything and refilled water. I really liked the chicken and it was overall a fun atmosphere. Great place to go to in a big group, I’d recommend getting multiple dishes and sharing. My favourites were the general tao chicken and the fried chicken.
Very poor quality, albeit fast and cheap. Dishes came out a few minutes after I ordered, meaning they could not have possibly been fresh. The server recommended I have the Maggi short ribs, which was under the "hot pot" section of the menu, but it came in a regular plate. It was just salty with no depth, some lettuce and snow peas as an afterthought. Sweet and sour pork was clearly pre-fried and tasted awful, the lack of coverage is visible in my photos. The sauce also lacked depth and utilised canned pineapples. Buddha's delight was also below par. A large variety of ingredients, with a sauce that had heavy oyster undertones. The bean curds were quite tough, and the tofu was dense. No comment on anything else, the sauce really ruins it.
I’ve been dining in and ordering from PM for years. Prior to that, it was always at Beijing, in Chinatown. But their online ordering system is really good and easy to do. Also, as a member, I collect points towards free food, which I think helps with keeping clients loyal to them. I’ve always been satisfied with the service and they are always ready to make things better if there’s been a mistake. A couple of things I love to order from them, that I find hard to find elsewhere, the garlic snow pea tendrils, the fried rice with dried scallops. The Japanese tofu with eggplant and the salt and pepper squid are always part of our order. I hope whoever reads this, will try it, if they haven’t yet!
Poor service, you dont even have time to start your starter before your meal is taken to you. The lady waitress barely speaks French and takes my plates away without asking. Then take the bill so quickly. Last time. I should have given 0 for the tip. Thats not how you work in restaurants .
Order does not look like the photo and no taste
Good food at a good price. The service was very quick too.
We ordered at this restaurant through SkipTheDishes because they had a BOGO promotion. Apparently they didnt feel the need to honor that, because we only received one of the two items, and Im almost certain this was deliberate because they did read the special request I had submitted to omit an ingredient and the receipt was signed. To have the audacity to run a promotion, benefit from the visibility, and then not honor what you offered is pretty dishonest. Obviously I wont order from them again, and Id advise others not to order via any promotions they might offer, because theres a good chance they wont honor the promotion anyway.
The only comments is BAD. Food was terrible! Won ton was a scam, the waiter or owner suggested us to order the one with $5 more, he said it had shrimp with pork but we didnt taste anything like shrimp, and I had never heard about wonton with minced shrimp even if they had. Won ton soup was tasteless. Noodle paste didnt mix well with noodle, fish was super salty and mixed with pepper and onion to lower the cost! AVOID IT AT ALl COST!
I am won over by the quality of Chinese food at Restaurant PM! The dishes I tried were all delicious, but two of them particularly stood out: - The pork belly is absolutely divine: tender, juicy and full of flavor. - The Japanese tofu is a real revelation: creamy, light and deliciously fragrant. The atmosphere is also very pleasant and the service is attentive and professional. I highly recommend Restaurant PM to all fans of Chinese and Japanese cuisine. You will not be disappointed. Reasonable prices and exceptional quality. I will come back without hesitation!
I ordered steamed chicken and when i opened the package I thought it smelled a bit off, I still had a bite to make sure and it tasted sour! this chicken is definitely not fresh, I hope I dont get sick!
Good friendly service. If you want good Hong Kong Chinese food.. Thats my favorite place
Super good Chinese restaurant. Everything was good. Im going back for sure.
Was just about to order and noticed they charge 50 cents a chopstick. Lost potential repeat customer there for no reason. Whoever had the bright idea of charging for chopsticks is costing you business.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I went with my friend for my birthday and WORST BIRTHDAY EVER. The food was ready in less than 5 minutes and we thought it was microwaved for sure as it was too hot to eat. We tried eating as much as we can, but that too was difficult. Dumplings were semi raw and overly greasy. Noodle dishes were sour. When we paid, we gave 0 tip because of our dissatisfaction. The elder lady working there said Cheap! Cheap! when she passed next to us when our total meal cost us over 60$!!! Maybe start looking at the quality of the food you serve before calling the customer cheap! if you love yourself, DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!!
Ordered a take out meal size won ton soup with vegetables and crispy spring rolls. NO FLAVOUR at all on anything. Won tons were heavy and too doughy and practically no filling. Broth flavorless! Spring rolls crispy but lacked filling and again too doughy on the inside. Skip this spot. Better places nearby.
This place is so underrated some of the best service I have ever had at a restaurant. The waiter was amazing, great price to portion ratio, the food is super comforting and yummy. I feel like people in the reviews are a bit confusing, like you know what youre getting into why do you expect something that its not? If you want fine dining then go somewhere else, if you want great food and to support amazing people then come here. Also highly recommend dining in vs ordering online. I understand Uber is sustaining a lot of restaurants these days especially post-pandemic, but in my opinion its always better to dine in. Make a night of it, its an excuse to get out of the house and relax. They deserve more service and I hope this review will inspire more people to go! Highly recommend the Shanghai noodles, the vegetable and tofu tomyum soup, and the dumpling dishes:)
Order for delivery. Very good ! The best pork dumplings I have ever tasted! The PERFECT noodles!
Fake chinese restaurant, they dont even know how to do Kung Pao chicken. Im really disappointed.
Very good Chinese restaurant. The eggplants with Japanese tofu are delicious. The service is very efficient and friendly. We go to dinner there every time we are in the neighborhood.
A catastrophe of catastrophes, out of 8 dishes we ordered, the food was so terribly bad I couldn t eat any of it. You know that gut feeling that if you ll eat this, you ll probably get sick ? Unfortunately all the dishes except for the calamaris were truly atrociously bad. I m sorry, I have nothing against the restaurant. I get dishes so bad and I say the truth.
Peanut butter chicken was watery and the spinach was soggy. The dumplings and general tao chicken were average.
Incredibly mid, save your money and go to noodle star down the street!!!!
Wrong order twice in a row, quality has been a declining in the last year, dont order take out they send you whatever they have
Great chinese food. Fast service. Fresh Always. Weve been going there for years, its the only place we have Chinese food now. Were here right now. Family run. Massive menu as well.
So delicious
i ordered the chicken corn soup and the beef broccoli. the soup was amazing , so creamy and delicious!!! the beef was a little disappointing, it was meh. for the plain rice it was good, you know, plain rice.
This place is a disgrace : this is what you get for $16.99 : cant even fill the box to half and 4 pieces of meat. No one should ever give money to this place. Its the biggest scandal Ive seen in my life
Food is good and you cant beat it for this price.
Their food is pretty good, generous portions. Also had a hot sake. Overall it was a great experience.
A bit of everything for everyone. From the staples of asian-american food to very specific dishes from different nations. All tasty and served fast, great portions too.
The taste of the dishes has dropped significantly, and it is not as good as before and during the epidemic. The waitress (proprietress?) yelled at a takeout order in the restaurant, completely ignoring the customers who were dining. Others say that Qiang Kee has poor service, but I think this one is even worse than Qiang Kee.
The best and service so fast. Great food
Always amazing. The Japanese tofu is incredible!
Pay you the right price and good Chinese food
The welcome was a little dry at first but the meal went very well, a glass of water was provided upon arrival and the gentleman who took care of us was very attentive and friendly. Affordable price and generous proportions. I recommend !
Hated being told how much it would be with tips. Never back!
Poor quality beef, fair price. Bare minimum service! Throws the dish on the table at you without a smile and forces you to give tips!!! To flee
Just unleashed the ultimate taste test: Beef with pepper in black bean sauce vs. General Tao chicken. In the spicy corner, we have Salt Fried Calamari stepping into the ring. The underdog, Fried Rice with Soya Sauce, is looking to stir things up. And for the main event, a Blueberry Beer and Tea showdown. This feast is so epic, even my fridge is asking for a night off. #FoodComa #SendHelp #ThisIsWhyImNotASkinnyChef
Very bad place I see why 3.9 stars! Ordered food for pick up, some was forgotten to be packed, customer service failed! NEVER AGAIN!
Found hair in my food and that is discusting. Nobody from stuff cared! They should get checked by inspectors ! Defently NOT recomended MY MEAL WAS RUINED
Soggy, not crispy, no sauce.
Bad service, bad food, rude lady at front desk. Despicable.
I came here with my family for the end of year meal and they were very accommodating, which I am thankful for because my family were quite demanding. My favourite dish was the Stir fried snow pea leaves with king mushrooms. As for the Tofu and fungus with vegetables, the fungus were very heavy on salt compared with the tofu and the vegetables. The egg-free and soy-free fried rice was good! The toilet was clean but the floor was sticky. Vegetarian options: They can accommodate and modify dish according to customers dietary restrictions. For the Japanese tofu with fungus and vegetables, the waiter said the Japanese tofu contains eggs, so he suggested to replace it with regular tofu. We also got a vegetable fried rice without eggs and soy sauce. And they said that they could do a meatless version of the Mapo tofu. Dietary restrictions: gluten-free, vegan
Good fast cheap. Large, tasty plates. A must!
Bad service, dont speak French. The waitress doesnt bother to say hello. And she almost shouted at us when we asked her how long it would take for us to receive the starter, because we were at the end of the main meal and we had been waiting for 40 minutes. The decor also leaves something to be desired.
The first time going there to pick up food had sesame beef & there spicy thai chicken rice was delicious i recommend this restaurant.
Fantastic food and good service love everything and want to come back again and again
Many vegan and vegetarian options, so tasty and fast. Service is great, the place is clean and spacious. My only regret is not having discovered it earlier!
The images on the exterior window were very inviting. The positive stops there! The meat was a little overcooked. The rice had little flavor. Immediately eaten; Immediately the plates were removed from the table for the next customer! I give it a 5/10. No more! Sorry. Vegetarian options: They all have a page on it.
Recommended Calmars were quite yumm Food
Ordered for take away. Small portions. 14.95 for a handful of chicken and peanut sauce. I also ordered ginger beef which has good flavour but the snow peas are so fibrous that i have to spit it out. Beef with noodles has almost no beef and the noodles stick together. Generals chicken is very sweet. I m surprised this place has such high ratings. I will not be ordering again
We ordered two dishes. Both were not only bad but the chicken was not cooked. Raw vegetables garnished on the plate. Once ordered, we were served immediately. We understood the speed of the service from the state of our plates. All the staff look stupid and the toilets are extremely dirty to boot. Very unpleasant experience. We didnt eat our food for fear of getting sick. AVOID this restaurant at all costs.
Very poor service, cold and tasteless dishes, ungrilled vegetables and chicken. I had noodles with chicken and shrimp, and there were two pieces of chicken and four shrimp. When I expressed my dissatisfaction to the manager, she refused to reimburse me. Absolutely avoid. It doesnt deserve a star.
Food tasted very fresh, and came out super fast from the kitchen. Very tasty, New York style Chinese. The place was very clean compared to the rest of the restaurants on St. Catherine. The service was a bit rushed by the staff, hard to relax. But overall, Id highly recommend.
Very good cuisine
Super restaurant. Excellent service.
Their general Tao was amazing and quick service. Friendly staff as well.
Ok I loved it, got Singapore noodles with chicken and shrimp, so good
I don t know if the food is any good, I just know that you won t get your food. After waiting an hour for our delivery to arrive, we get a call from the restaurant saying that they just noticed the order and that it would be impossible for them to fill it. So, if you want a restaurant where you actually get your food, I would say you should avoid this place like the plague. Obviously, I will never order from them again. If you can t do something as basic as make food and get it to people, then you should be in another business. Lots of good restaurants around . This just isn t one of them, unless you re a fan of hunger and disappointment. And I still have to confirm that they refunded my money.
Dietary restrictions: They can accommodate for allergies if you warn them. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible. There are steps leading to the entrance, not sure if they have a ramp. Food : 5/5 |
The Singaporean gizzard and the Italian gizzard have a similar flavor and are well received. Except for the star because I ordered Shanghai Ji.
I ordered via Uber Eats and I was really satisfied. Food was tasty and I will definitely order again.
Yummy!! So good. I ll dream about their peanut butter dumplings when back in Toronto.
Today, I went to the restaurant. It was a very bad experience. First off, I couldn t even choose from the menu in peace. I was on the phone and he was still pressuring me. The noodles looked nothing like the menu(tall skinny man). And lastly, the waiter, extremely impulsive, forced me to pay his tip. He took the cash machine and put the tip in himself. Giving me a lecture about why we should pay for the waiters.(short old man) I had a bad experience with the tall skinny man before too. He got mad because we wanted to sit down. Now this? I was forced. This is unacceptable!
The food was fergilicious, the service was amazing, 10/10 would go again!
The food was bussin
I ordered drunken chicken, typhoon shelter clams, braised pork with pickled vegetables and satay beef vermicelli clay pot. Generally the taste is okay. The braised pork with pickles and vegetables was served first, and the presentation was a bit strange. . The second clam tasted good and slightly salty, suitable for drinking, but it was not what I expected from the Typhoon Shelter. . There is also black bean pepper flavor on the menu, but there is no black bean in it. Drunken chicken tastes good but not particularly tasty The beef may have been left on the side for too long and the juice has been absorbed by the fans.
Ugghhh where do I begin ... Hot & sour soup taste ok, but cold spots, which usually means microwave. General Tao Chicken ... the pieces of the chicken were in several different sizes from the size of pea to almost a whole breast! Ive ate this dish a 100 times, never seen it look like this before. Once again warm pieces mixed with cold one. Almost no sauce, maybe a tablespoon, which is what makes the chicken General Tao. Horrible dish Noodles with beef & black bean sauce. A big clump of noodles. Like they were made and left to sit for awhile. On top a watered down blackbean sauce, barely distinguishable. A few pieces of beef and 3 pieces of green pepper. No onions, no pepper. Peanut butter dumplings The peanut butter sauce was dark brown almost black! Tasted nothing like peanut butter... The dumplings were cold and tasted weird I had one and didnt touch the other five. The whole meal tasted like leftovers or made cheaply with little to no efforts. I was hoping since I had not ate the dumplings the waitress would ask why. She didnt say a thing..just gave me a bill I know the restaurant business is tough these days and I really didnt want to leave a bad review. But its not right to serve 5 dishes and all of them to be bad. Ive been eating Chinese food for years at restaurants all over montreal, and sadly this is one of the worst meals Ive ever had .
Grew up in Toronto and since I came here, I have had difficulties finding Cantonese style food that taste authentic. Finally glad I found a place where the food is ok. Wished the portion size is a bit more though.
Website in English only. Unacceptable.
I would like to give a rating of negative to this place but the least google accepts is 1. The main reasons being, - we ordered sweet and sour soup, egg fried noodles, veg fried rice and dumplings. Firstly, taste was extremely basic and it had zero flavours. Soup smelled so weird that I couldn t have it. I was still trying to adapt and eat. While I was still eating, waitress started getting me take out boxes as if they wanted me to leave asap even when the restaurant wasn t busy at all. I felt this behaviour wasn t necessary and was extremely rude and disturbing. - the MAIN scene that was alarming is that the waitress/receptionist demanded Atleast 15% tip. I didn t want to tip because I didn t like the service and the food but she started saying that it is mandatory here. I tried to explain that max I can do is 10% but not more just because she forced me to. While all this happened she started taunting this happens in India and not here. You guys are like this.. blah blah . This ridiculous behaviour of taking our country names is extremely disrespectful and it shows how well they treat and respect their customers. I still had a take out box in my hand which I ordered and when she said that this happens only in india that you don t tip.. I just said I don t want to take the food too. And she snatched the box from my hand and threw it in the bin right in front of me. That shows how impatient and rude the restaurant crew is and how it treats the customers. I wonder if it s the same behaviour with others or not. I m DEFINITELY NOT GOING there ever and will recommend my friends to avoid going there as well.
Big mistake...
Food is great and tastes delicious. Employees are respectful and exceed expectations. Highly recommend
Is this leftover food from the restaurant s kitchen? Or was it eaten by someone during the delivery?
Great food! At a very convenient price
So Good!!!! I cant wait to go back, great discovery. Everything is prepared by them and like Ive never tasted before. DELICIOUS !!!
Food was not fresh and every dish just tasted super sweet
Ordered on door dash, was hot fresh, and on time. Food was great, my picky 6 y/o loved the orange beef! So good I ordered the next night as well, he loved it again! Ill order here every time I get to Montreal.
Quick service.
Lunches from 10 Dollars, wide variety and you dont need to order something to drink. They give you a glass of water for free. Clean, fast. There is takeaway and can be ordered online
Still my fave place for classic, delicious Chinese cuisine. Wayne and his staff are fabulous!
Friendly, generous portions, a little noisy, stiff, efficient service, but not too friendly... Close to the Place dArmes Metro. Im coming back for a second impression
The cashier rudely asked for a tip. When we politely said no, she asked us to pay again or to take out next time , don t dine in or eat somewhere else.
Rude behavior by the cashier. The cashier forced us to pay them tips and told to take out next time
My last visit was a few years ago, I couldnt wait. But what a disappointment; soup that tastes like water and a very anonymous beef dish with so little meat. $25 at the devils. Finished for me.
Very small portion for delivery.
I think this restaurant is underrated. Im a big fan of both their dine in and take out. The food is top-notch and the prices are very reasonable.
Me and my man wanted to have a nice lunch at restaurant PM! We were attracted by the food display pictures outside. As soon as we sat at our table we were rushed to order while there were maybe only two other tables. We got served by two waiters who kept on asking if we are ready while we barely checked the menu. It made us feel very uncomfortable because we are not sure why we were pushed by the staff so intensely. Food was basic. Not really like pictures shows. But that s okay. The cherry on top was that the waitress gave us a bill without us asking nor if we would like anything else. Felt like we need to leave as soon as possible. Additionally, one of the waitresses rudely started at our bill and said that it doesn t include tips. However, we didn t feel that we would like to tip for such a disrespectful service. We don t like to make scene so we left some coins. Then she went to the bar, told that to her colleague and turned backs to us while we were leaving. No thank you or even bye. Not sure if the other tables got the same attitude but we took it quite personal and do not recommend this restaurant. Hopefully this review will not get reported
Pure cooking pleasure
Thump up!
The food was good though the noodle dish that we had was a bit mushy. Other than that it was a good experience. The service was good.
the best food youll ever eat
Awesome food and friendly service.
Its been a few years since I last went to this restaurant that I once loved so much. This time, big disappointment. Superlative insignificant won-ton soup and most disappointing main courses. Finished for me this restaurant which is no longer a shadow of itself. Instead, go to the Wok café which is located a few meters from the PM restaurant. At this place, you wont feel like youre being ripped off. Quite the contrary because it s excellent and inexpensive. PM IS TO BE AVOID!!!!
TLDR: tasty food, good portions and reasonable prices! My wife was the one who discovered this restaurant when she was working downtown. So she brought me here, and I truly enjoy the food. My favourite is the beef with black bean sauce. The meat is very tender and you can slightly taste the char. And the black bean sauce is rich in flavour! My wife always orders the lamb hot pot, even though we can never finish it. The reason is that all the components of the hot pot are excellent: the broth is rich in flavourful, the vegetables are crunchy, contrasting with the very tender lamb meat. And my wife and I are still exploring the menu. Yup, PM has a huge selection. I do have a few complaints. This place is downtown, so parking is hard to find and expensive when you do find it. They do not advertise their menu, so it is hard to decide in advance what you want. But overall, PM is a big recommend from me!
They think I am Asian and just come to Canada so it s ridiculous that they said it s mandatory to give 15% tips or more. I know the law but I don t want to argue with them just because of a few amount of money. But hope they won t lie to any clients in the future
I am working downtown and this place have fabulous food. I order to take out and the food is always there waiting for me. The personnel is welcoming and quick. Full recommended.
They offer a wide variety of Asian dishes for a reasonable price. We try to keep it simple and stick to what we know we like which is usually fried bass filet/vegetable hot pot, vegetable hot pot, eggplant general Tao and chicken general Tao. The staff are friendly in their own way. We like the way they interact with clients but their straightforwardness may offend some.
Tasty food, good prices .. WORST SERVICE EVER.
Realy bad soup they dont care
Noodles are too oily and the meat tasted stale.
No meat in the wontons ! Shrinkflation
Always delicious and affordable, Ive been ordering there for years. Thank you
The service was excellent-friendly and prompt, helpful and quick to help guide us through the menu. The food (I ordered ginger beef) was good, though sauce was a little glutinous. Arrived piping hot and fresh. Likewise for the hot and sour soup starter. Seems the majority of the business is oriented towards takeout and maybe a lunch crowd.
One word:
We tried the beef with cumin and the beef with orange, both were great!! The rolls were classic and very crunchy, hot and fresh! The wings were sublime, salty, tender and with meat after the bone Fast and courteous service,
This Chinese restaurant can be said to be delicious and value for money! Highly recommended. Parking: I walked there and didn t know much about the parking situation.
There were 3 of us there last night. The dishes were excellent and plentiful, the service quick and friendly. To do again...
We love
Why is my fish with XO sauce container filled only to 1/4 of its capacity? Its a tiny portion. Sometimes the portions are generous. Sometimes theyre just shrunken to a tiny quantity. Was the cook not in a good mood?
Good portions and good price!
Food is really good but omg the staff it s really unprofessional. It s like they will start begging for tips. They will also say you can complain but give us tips please. I usually put tips but this time I didn t put any tip so they started begging and said we won t give you good service next time. It s too disappointing to see their staff to just cry & beg for tips in front of all without any shame. I will not go there next time just because of their disgusting & disrespect staff behavior. Even beggars & homeless people are better than their staff.
Its good
What a lovely place, have been going there for years, and it is always great. The food is DELICIOUS, the service is super fast, the staff is polite and friendly. I have recommended this resto to many of my friends and coworkers. Cant wait to go back again! Thank you PM
Great restaurant, very fast service, delicious food and good portions!
Many times we get fooled. Everything is very salty and gooey, defrosted vegetables. No atmosphere no smile :((
Worst duck ever so old , dry and so salty . The curry chicken had bone in the breast very cheap but great waitress
The service was really good, all of the staff was nice to us, the price to food ratio is actually crazy. It was like 14$ for a whole huge plate of orange chicken, 11$ for a huuge plate of fried rice, i had some rolls that were not amazing, but that didnt matter because everything was so cheap and worth it. Obviously the quality of the food wasnt incredible for that price, but it was still really good.
I dont recommend it
We went because a friend recommended it--bad recommendation! I dont know how people can write 4 or 5 star reviews for this restaurant. Ive been to seven cities in China, eaten at dozens of restaurants there. This would be a 1 or 2 star restaurant in China, only serving those who couldnt afford much. Dumplings arrived at table cold. We had the ribbed beef dish, which was so tough it was literally inedible. Buddha delight was okay but way too salty, and the bean curd in the dish was very tough. Yes, we had the somewhat surly server, but she brightened up a bit when she got the message we werent going to put up with her grouchy attitude. Obviously, we wont be going back. Im sorry to write such a negative review, but definitely not a great experience.
probably the most underrated restaurant in the city. best chinese food ive had in a long time
Decent Chinese food but the online prices are insanely expensive for what you get, $6 egg rolls $6 won ton, these are the cheapest thing to make. Bit of a rip-off that a meal for 2 people costs $80+.
I rarely ever leave reviews but the mapo tofu here was so disappointing. The menu warns that this item is tongue numbing and advices you to eat it with rice. It s not at all spicy and you can barely detect the Szechuan peppers. The sauce was bland. And why are there peas, green beans, and corn in mapo tofu . If you re looking for authentic mapo tofu, avoid.
Ive been frequenting this restaurant for about ten years and it used to be one of my favorites in the neighborhood. Unfortunately the quality has dropped drastically since the pandemic.
I ordered four dishes and there were only 4 slices of braised pork with pickled vegetables. It felt like someone else s leftovers. Are you serious? After eating, both of us had diarrhea and stomachache for a long time.
I stopped for a quick dinner on my way home from work and the food on the sign looked good. I was more than happy that I found this place! First off, they have air conditioning and so many places on St. Catherines are open windows and jusy uncomfortable. They were super friendly, took my order right away and it came out surprisingly quick considering there were other tables ans take out orders too. I usually get Tom Yum soup and Shrimp with spicy salt as my go to at any place that has it and I was very happy with both. The soup was actually amazing and will definitely be back to to get it again. The broth was flavourful and spicy, the seafood was well cooked. The shrimp was crispy and the veggies it came with were a nice touch. The second time I went wasnt as great, the pan fried dumplings dont look anything like the picture and dont come with sauce, also pictured.
Old secret Chinese authentic Recipes from the old Country.
Very good service very good food
General tao chicken; excellent generous portion, well spiced and measured
Chinese restaurant A big variety of Asian food I ordered a Pad Thai Food : 3/5
The worst service experience at the cash register, I will never come back and I advise everyone to never stop by this restaurant, the woman at the cash register has no education, I asked for my receipt and she put the trash bin in on the counter to look for it with disgusting activity. She never disinfected her buts. It s simply a place not to go.
Great food. Nothing fancy just delicious food at a reasonable price
Best Pad thai in town.
DELICIOUS
I like this place and the food they make. Tom Yam noodle soup is my favorite :)
Ordered some dumplings and the filling was RAW! I found out after eating one. Raw shrimp and raw porc. This is unacceptable!
Great food, well prepared.
They are very cheap with the food and its expensive not recommended
Super good with a very friendly waiter, big plates and these really affordable... I will definitely go back
Do yourself a favor and dont get food from there. the food is extremely bland and honestly Thai express stir fry tastes better. Their chicken cashew looks very unappetizing, half the veggies look like they came from a can, and was overall flavorless. the fried rice with soy sauce was one of the worst things I ate, very bland, had to add my own sauces to make it taste decent. For that price I expected better quality. Tried PM once and never again.
Great food and service.
The taste is as good as ever. If you don t know what to eat, the boss s recommendation is also a good choice. The food is served very quickly.
What I most liked at that place was the waitresses . They are so fast and efficient !! We had a great time over there , my husband , step son and me .
The BEST pad thai ever !
Very authentic and decent Cantonese food. The waiters are very friendly. If you want good Cantonese food this is the place to go!
Why only 4 stars? I eat in person and order there very often (at least 50 times) and its very good, good food in large quantities for cheap, except for things that are expensive everywhere, and more for a restaurant in the city center I always get served in French.
Tasty, quick and not too expensive Vegetarian options: Large selection of vegetarian dishes
Do not order from this restaurant unless you want to eat a cockroach soup. I found a very small cockroach while eating the Wonton soup I ordered through Uber. And I found more bugs inside the food container. I am afraid how many I have eaten already (because I firstly thought it is a crushed papper) and I feel really really sick now.
Very disappointed. My friend ordered sweet and sour pork, but they gave lamb instead. There was a cockroach in my chicken corn soup.
Excellent food. Great value for money.
Friendly and fast service, excellent food, good portion and very democratic price. Accompanied by my daughter and my partner, it was unanimous
Went in for lunch. We had a vegetable fried rice and vegetable pad Thai. The food came really quickly and was delicious. Staff were nice and constantly refilled our water for us. The service was great and the price was really good too. The portions were so big we had to take some food home with us!
We were invited to this restaurant for a dinner celebration. The food was delicious and flavorful. The dishes were served piping hot on order. The portions were generous. The staff were courteous. If you are craving authentic Chinese food and are too lazy to go to Chinatown then this place is for you.
Ordered something and got served something else. When paying with Apple Pay was tricked into a tipping I didn t want. Unpleasant experience.
Chinese woman scammed us by adding a huge tip automatically and covering the amount and pressuring us to tap.
Fast and efficient service. The portions are really generous. The dishes are good.
Simple setting, simple and good food, generous portion.
Came here and they refused us a table !
Great Pad Thai Vegetarian options: Pad thaï with eggs and vegetables
Very clean and everything is very fresh, very reasonable prices and fast and impeccable service
The Shanghai is a joke. When they say shrimp and chicken, there are basically two tiny pieces of chicken and a grand total of tiny shrimps in the whole dish. Disappointed.
For the price of General tao and the quantity, youre better off going down the street.
Too expensive for the quality but it was good, come in large group that could be a better deal.
Save your money and run as fast as possible away from this retaurant. Ordered 3 dishes on uber tonight and all of them tast absolutely horrible. The dishes are soggy, watery and filled with an abundant amount of green peppers and onions with a PATHETIC AMOUNT OF MEAT. Will never order from this place again, dont just get fooled by those 5 stars ads review.
Ive been twice now. Both times, all I could taste was salt. Otherwise, the service is quite efficient for dine in or take out.
Its good, its not expensive and the plates are really very generous. No one managed to finish, he suggested we put everything in a box (organized like takeaway meals)
The food was very bad and the server was very rude. Not coming back to this place again
Exceptional food and service at a reasonable price
It is an amazing restaurant. The waiters are so nice and welcoming and the food is incredible. I havent eaten in a restaurant this good in a long time! I also love the menu, it is well organized and easy to order from, with the pictures showing what youre ordering. Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal.
Not all dishes are good but most of what I tried was good. Pepper beef ribs, sweet & sour pork and veggie plates are my favorites. Fried tofu and eggplant dishes were so-so. Fair quantity for the price both delivery and on-site considering todays reality. You dont go there for the decor but the seats are decent with enough space between guests. The best thing at this place was the lady at the front counter. You could feel her smile behind her mask and I felt she was genuinely happy to take my order. Everyone there is nice enough but I give an extra star just for her! Also, my orders are always ready in record time almost makes me suspicious but...no complaint! Faster than fast food!
Staff were busy like in any other chinese restaurant but were super friendly and welcoming. Food were tasty, unfortunately the presentation / finition needs more work. Overall, my best dishes were the chicken general tao, japanese tofu aubergine. :) Food : 4/5
Very nice! Great taste and affordable price!
Their fishmaw soup and dimsum are delish :) and nice service
We kept it simple and went with general tao chicken, veggie fried noodles, steamed rice, spring rolls, and steamed pork dumplings. All were spiced and cooked well, with great portions for sharing. Exactly what we wanted!
Amazing service. The food was delicious and was served very fast. Will definitely go back.
Its exactly what you would expect from cheap Chinese take out. Even if you sit down inside the restaurant with the speed at which your meal comes at you know they must be cutting corners, but I personally dont mind that taste and have had many good menu dishes.
WoW More than generous portion Its excellent One of the best general tao I have eaten I recommend closing your eyes Kid-friendliness: Yes
Bad costumer service. The waitress just threw the plate on our table.
I had my Chinese food delivered by DoorDash and I received them very hot and delivered on time. Everything is very good except for the egg rolls which were overcooked and smelled something like old frying. I nevertheless recommend this restaurant but will no longer order egg rolls.
Been there twice, employees were very nice, food always comes fast. General Tao Chicken was delicious!!
I have been eating at this restaurant for years and always the food and service are exceptional!!
Nick and I go there every week try There crab soup
I went there during the week for a dinner. The staff was excellent. I was there with my 11 year old son and he wants to go back especially for the waiter. My son was a little disappointed with his plate because he found it slightly lacking in flavor. My plate was perfect. Thanks to the staff for the good time
