YIN JI finalement au Québec. Spécialiste de dim sum. Buzzing, low-key restaurant known for it’s congee & rice noodle rolls with a range of fillings.
Per capita 30, Cantonese fried two bula sausage and leek shrimp beef bula sausage personal recommendation, a single point of fried fritters soy milk, fritters are fried, crisp and soft just right, its home fritters are the most satisfied I have eaten recently, porridge point boat boy will not make a mistake, the material is delicious, chicken feet will point ha, very tasteful, frozen lime tea is too sweet, do not like, milk tea is good It is very cost-effective to close at 5:30 in the evening, order a meal of sausage or porridge, and the second meal of sausage or porridge is half price
Love love love it. Tastes just like home. I love the consistency they have across the franchise. From Toronto to here, they all have the same flavour and taste. The price is great, we dined in and the second one of rice noodles/porridge! Service is awesome and friendly as well👏 —————— We went back next day as my friend and I really love the rice noodles. I ordered a bowl hot soy milk with fried dough sticks. I had one dough stick left because there isn’t enough soy milk for me to soak it 😂 (I’m very picky when it comes to eat the dough stick…). The owner (maybe??) took my plate and said there is one piece of dough stick left, I said there isn’t enough soy milk :( he came back and gave me a small cup of hot soy milk for me to finish my last piece 😭 I’m really happy as where I live right now doesn’t have those food and I’m satisfied with the food! 1000/10 service!!!
Overall food is food, it could help me to cope with the missing of asian food back home. Eating inside makes me feel like i’m not in canada. The congee is very good
This has been the best location I been to so far, amazing customer service! Fast and delicious food. I did takeout and dine-in. I love that this location has its own stamp card! Server was attentive and so helpful pointing out promotions etc and how to order.
Shirley welcomed us kindly and offered the last comfortable looking seating in the restaurant. She took the time to explain the menu and my many questions of the dishes served. She took our orders and we were served very quickly. The atmosphere was quiet and welcoming. The prices are pretty good. The braised beef Hong Kong style (the one with bite sized parts) with the shrimp spring rolls were the highlight for me. I also asked for an extra preserved duck egg (2$) in the braised beef. The Hong Kong style milk tea was good. All in all, this was a great experience and I recommend it for 2-6 people groups. Around 10:30 AM on a Tuesday there was a half full restaurant.
Yin Ji hit the spot, as I was in need of an Asian food infusion this morning. We tried the new item of a hot bowl of soy milk with the fried long donut, and opted for the shrimp, chive, and lettuce rice roll. Rice roll was comme ci comme ca, but the soy milk was delicious and paired well with the donut. Would recommend to friends to try. The service is friendly and orders are made via mobile quick and easy.
Yummy food and friendly service— I think I just expected to pay a bit less for a dim sum place, but we got 4 items (2 noodles with meat, 4 shrimp dumplings and those little fried buns) and paid 40$, which I find really high considering we didn’t have a very big meal. Really cool place nonetheless!
Many franchise from Toronto came to Montreal and fail because they couldn’t keep up the quality, but YinJi has proven why they survived! The menu has great varieties and the quality of the food is well maintained. I love their rice porridge (aka congee) and breadstick. The drinks are very good too. The pricing is average, not expensive. Service is great, I always enjoy my experience eating there.
Good food! Especially the rice rolls and congee
Good service
The food and the service very nice
Not open today, they move to south shore :(
Hey, the DT store is closed. I ran to Nanan and it hasnt opened yet. Its so sad and unbearable. Its cold and my heart is cold too!
Moving to Brossard :(
Just like Toronto
My husband and I have had lots of authentic Chinese food and loved this spot. He grew up in Hong Kong and I m from USA. As usual we over ordered but found it very affordable. After we were entirely stuffed, with the best congee ive ever had, we ordered more for dessert. The black sesame paste was a first for me and it was divine. Definitely a new favorite! Highly recommend for authentic and delicious dishes with a very friendly staff.
Excellence service
Legit this is fire dawg
10/10. Everything was absolutely incredible, might I say life changing if you ve never had chinese food. The space is so clean and our waiter was 15/10!!! He was so nice and made the best recommendations. You HAVE to go here I tell you. Truuuuuust me daddy!
It was my first time there and the waiter explained everything super clearly, all his recommendations were amazing. Super nice to come in a group and share many dishes, the wrapped You Tiao is a must try. They even sell house made chili oil which is also super bomb
Comfortable
Good service. Authentic southern Chinese food. Rice roll, beef roll, fish congee fried dough. If you are open to try real Chinese food you can find them here.
decent comfort chinese food. Limited sitting though
I ordered takeout, and there was a promotion on Uber that said buy one get one free, and then the a la carte option was priced at 13 a bowl. I ordered the buy one get one free option which was 26. Is it interesting to do this
Friendly service and good food
Passing by bike I let myself be tempted.....after ordering at an electronic terminal I look for a place to sit all is dirty floor slippery with dirt dirty table you would say that the owners live in the restaurant... ..tax and personal papers lying on the counters etc.....I had to ask for a table to be cleaned for me......but the meal was super good....and the Uber deliveries were coming one after the other...what more can I say?
The Sesame Seed Chang Fen and Braised Beef were both pretty good. The standard Shrimp one was okay, just very normal and expected. The drink here are kind of a miss, the Viet Coffee was barely sweet at all, it makes me wonder where all that condensed milk went they have stacked cans of. Overall though price for food was very reasonable. Id visit again.
Good, cheap food!
This is a porridge restaurant that I often go to when Im in the mood for warm food. Porridge, dim sum etc.. Highly recommended.
Order R4 and took 2 for 20~$ still feel its not a big portion
Nice place to have a Hong Kong breakfast. Their specialties are the rice rolls and congee. We love coming here for a quick breakfast on the weekends. My recommendation would be the special congee that has everything inside. So many texture going on from the peanuts, pork skin to eggs. They have some dim yum items like Ha Gor, sui mai, and chicken feet. Rice rolls at Yin Ji Chang Fen are thin and smooth served with a light soya sauce. We tried the Hong Kong rice rolls with hoisin and peanut butter. It wasnt our favorite But it was worth the try since it is a popular street food in Hong Kong. My partner and I always order their milk tea with our meal. It is made with real tea and not powder, which makes it flavorful. They give the sugar syrup on the side. That way, you can adjust the sweetness to your taste. We came here a few times already, and the service had always been great. The staff are all welcoming and come often to see if everything is good with the food. They have a few promotions going on starting from 3pm that include 50% off on your second order of rice rolls. I consider the price as very affordable for the cost of living nowadays.
One of my classic favorites for sure, especially their Hong Kong Style Rice Roll (street), Sweet Crulier for the road / take-home snack. Service is quick and nice as well!
My first time at this restaurant, was very Bad experience. The foods was nice and the lady in front was very helpful. But the guy, I don t know if he is the manager or the owner but here was very rude and rough . Always raise his voice. If he is not owner . i don t know how s he still can work there . he ruins our time.
The food was excellent and super authentic except for the attitude of a waiter. I was really happy that Yin Ji Chang Fen opened in Montreal. I go there at least once a week. One day when paying, I had a waiter who told me that tipping is obligatory in Quebec, but who are you trying to fool? I also live in Montreal. I felt like he didnt understand what a tip meant. I tip if I LIKE the service, NOT ALWAYS necessarily. In fact, I still left a little tip but it was less than 15%. Afterwards, he had a threatening attitude towards me and my friends in front of other customers and forced me to tip him more. I dont find it normal to be honest. I also dont think its normal for a waiter and a customer to argue about tipping in front of other customers. It was a horrible experience and for that I will never go back. For other customers who have a plan to eat at this restaurant, I recommend that you tip them at the end if you dont want to argue with a waiter/waitress.
Nice and clean place Price ok Stuff nice Recommend Food : 5/5 |
I love this place so much! I went there multiple times with my family. Their rice noodle roll was so good, especially the beef brisket one. The rice noodle was tangy, with the beef who just melt into your mouth. The soya sauce on the roll wasn t actually salty, there s some sweetness that compliments it. I also love their preserved egg congee, it was just so good. It s a very hearty meal, but I wouldn t recommend it to people who never tried preserved egg before, as it is like cilantro, some hate it and some love it. It s a very popular place, so sometimes, especially during colder days, you have to wait outside for places.
R4 on special. HK milk tea. Quick, clean, comfortable! Canto//mandarin/English spoken. Maybe French too?
Tastes great! Nice boss!
We came here specifically for Dim Sum, and they had several items. The rest of the menu was also great, and we had a wonderful meal. Great area to visit if youre from out of town and nearby to the Museum of Fine Art. Also a great lunch spot after hiking up to the Mount Royal Chalet and Look Out. Highly recommend.
Hong kong style beef brisket was incredible. One day later, I am still thinking about it and craving it. The mango pudding was so creamy and delicious. And the iced tea was refreshing. Crazy to think one of my friends was bringing me to Wok Café , when this gem was so close by
Delicious rice rolls and Hong Kong-style milk tea! Taste of home Yummy rice roll and Hong Kong style milk tea! It s the taste of home
I loved this so much the first time I got it, that the next time I came to Montreal I had to come again. The price is fair although they increased, inflation . The plates were delicious and they have some deals. I would recommend not getting their most popular dish which has brisket, they have better dishes there.
Great congee and rice noodle!
Everything is authentic. Service is good, too. Recommended!
Ha gao and siu mai are a good size. Not small. The Cheung Fun is one big piece. Not in 3 pieces like in typical dim sum places. Neither good or bad. Just an FYI.
I don t know how the good reviews on the Internet came about. The porridge is very salty and the quality does not match the price. I am very disappointed.
Good food. Great service
As good as other locations!
Delicious food, very subtle taste in the corn soup and tasty peanut sauce for the rice rolls. Nice and helpful staff. Thank you!
Must visit this place! Service and food were excellent!
Really good dim sum, friendly, very clean.
Good food. I came in on a rainy night, shivering and wanting to eat soup. I had the seafood congee to go and ate at my hotel. They also have a branch in Richmond BC where I m from so I will surely try it there too.
Authentic Cheung fun and great congee with excellent service at good prices. Highly recommend!
This is the place to get the wide HK-style noodles!
food is good. We come here once a while after work.
great hk style breakfast! my one complaint is truly that it is quite expensive for what you are getting. granted, the portions are quite large. i paid $5.99 for fried dough which, although absolutely worth it, was a huge portion and i would ve appreciated a smaller portion for less. fish congee delicious
One of my favorite restaurants to remind me of real Cantonese food, even my mother was amazed by the taste of pork with century-old eggs!!! Quick order using their app. Dietary restrictions: Thanks to their application, you can tell them about your food intolerances.
Delicious and nutritious!
Cannot comment on service and atmosphere -- delivery. I wanted to give 3-1/2 *, but that was not possible. Food was tasty, but very heavy handed with MSG. Would caution anyone with chronic medical problems. Congee consistency lovely, lots of meat/filling in it. Cheung fen standard, noodle part very smooth. My only complaint was the high amount of MSG. If the restaurant reduced it, it would be 4-5*. Undecided about re-ordering because I have to be on low sodium diet. For those who does not mind MSG, I would recommend.
Best rice noodle in town
Noodles with delicious shrimp. Daikon soup just for the cold.
Food was very tasty but its on the sweet / fatty side
Great Food, Fast service , open late
I had a disappointing encounter with one of the wait staff here, which has deterred me from returning. Despite enjoying the food during previous visits, which is why I decided to bring my family along while they were visiting Montreal. The service had been satisfactory until a particular member of the wait staff made an accusatory comment regarding some leftover food three small pieces of meat that were difficult to chew. The comment implied that we were wasteful, which was unsettling. Upon paying our bill, we left a tip that reflected our overall experience. However, this particular staff member felt compelled to publicly remark, In Canada, we tip at least 15%. This encounter left a bitter taste in our mouth.
Authentic rice roll
The best Congee soup and Shumai
Food is great. It comes fast. Clean. Vegetarian friendly
A great place for delicious congee.
Amazing experience.
Fast service and good foods
Delicious and perfect portions. Prices are ok
Awesome food and not to expensive
Their congee is delicious. I highly recommend it. The place is nice and clean. Given the price I paid for my meal, I give a 5 star.
I was here occasionally... no regrets!!! I will definitely go back!!!
good food and great service
Ji Chang Fun is one of my Cantonese favourites -- stuff my mom and grandmother used to make, that I delighted in. I frankly cant be bother to make it -- actually, I have almost no idea of even where to start. So Ji Chang Fun is my go to for this delightful food when Im feeling the need for old school ji chang fun and congee. The food here is very authentic -- relatively inexpensive, quick service, and like most authentic Chinese restaurants leaves a little to be desired with respect to atmosphere. But its pretty reasonably priced. Have the beef/shrimp and Chinese cabbage -- its delicious, and if you are really feeling in the authentic mode, theres nothing better than the congee with pork and preserved duck eggs. Seriously.
Overcharge too much. We flew from Toronto to meet up with friends. The same brand in Toronto is cheaper. Also, the seafood congee tastes a bit weird. All the service are quite nice. But it seems tips is mandatory here. We dont know if it is Quebec culture. If you dont pay the tips, they will chase you for tips, which makes people feel a bit uncomfortable. I wonder if the waitress get normal pay here instead of getting few dollars like American.
I grew up in Guangzhou, Liwan District, the area with the oldest cuisine in Guangdong. I know very well what the authentic taste should be. And the taste of this restaurant is not. You won t find the taste of hometown that you missed in here.
Best rice roll place on Montreal! I go to this restaurant whenever I go to Toronto and I am quite happy they opened one in Montreal! Too bad they are located downtown cause I do not like coming down here! Hope they open one in the South Shore soon!
Now I didnt happen to like the food (we ordered two different things) but I guess its possible there are those that like these dishes, and they are at a great price. However it was served cold and thats unacceptable to me.
Id come back again
Not as good as NYC version
The menu prices are 30% more expensive than stores in Toronto, and the pork and liver are fishy.
a true gem! must try for anyone who like asian food.
One of the best rice roll places I ever had in North America! The rice roll is thin, smooth, and silky.
Great friendly service. The Hon kong style Chang Fen with braised beef was to die for, the Diim Sum waa excellent as well. 5/5 I will be returning for sure!
Good congee
Rice noodle roll with seafood congee are excellent match and tasteful even with delivery
I would like to ask if the 6 chicken feet listed on Uber for 31.95 are serious? I wanna ask if the price of thai chicken feet on Uber eats that costs 31.95 for six is serious????? I was shocked when I saw this price. Is it Uber eats that wants money crazily or the owner of the shop??
Simply delicious and well priced. The Duck Noodle Rolls were my fav, and the Marinated Beef and Shrimp rolls were also awesome. The service was super friendly and the vibes were good. I wasn t a huge fan of the congee, but it s also not a dish I m very used to. Biggest complaint is that the shrimp in the congee weren t devained (I.e. contained poop). 2 rice rolls and 1 congee was under $40 and lots of food for 2 (we took 1/2 the congee home)
Nostalgic/retro flavor for some items (grandpas generation, maybe even further aback; somehow its not so much grandmas taste(s) I am not sure why - in actual fact I cant tell if its Mainland Chinese or retro-Hong Kong). Some other items were more contemporary, healthier, cleaner, lighter style. It may be a good idea to mix and match if one is ordering more than a couple of items. Portions of protein and other ingredients/fillings can vary across different types of rolls R-. Nice and well-organized, well-trained staff with good management control and a good checking system in place (e.g. verbally repeating a customers order item by item, cross-checking every finished product against the ordered list), and nice/safe take-out packaging. Worth a visit. Some items are worth repeating, depending on ones taste (and mood). Items tried/re-visited recently (consult full menus) R1 beef & shrimps R13 chicken shiitake R19 roast duck R4 shrimps R5 pork & beef R6 beef HK milk tea DH1 pretty authentic. R21 HK street rice noodle rolls and S1 curried fish balls brought back some fond (re-imaged) childhood memories. N6 fried noodles w soy sauce DS03 siu mai BTW Congee and zha leung our 2nd time last year were also quite enjoyable. We finished both fast in the car. Pics: March 31st, April 4th & 14th 2023 April 14th 2023 × 5 pics April 4th 2023 × 4 pics March 31st 2023 × 5 pics Note 1: re HK milk tea, Yin Jis was full-bodied / pretty good thick smooth silky mouthfeel. Would be very authentic (to me) if it was more orange/gold color and with a tiny bit of acidity. And if the evaporated milk was even fresher, it would be comparable to Marathon/Ma Lik Hung in uptown Toronto which Samuel and I both loved. Not common (or not found everywhere) in HK either but Yin Jis milk tea also lacked a bit of high-grown Ceylon Uva aroma, or that feel when tea was brewed fresh right at 12 noon or shortly after they opened daily in some eateries/cafes/cha chaan tengs in HK - cf. also UCan Montreal bygone à la carte evening version around 5 pm (not lunch combo free drink, and not their food (portions) ...), that is if you knew that place in the same area on the opposite side of St. Catherine Street before - really aromatic milk tea even take-out back home, but slightly thinner mouthfeel. Surprisingly Yin Jis was much better than some well-known places in Richmond BC which charged more for a cup of HK milk tea of a similar size, or maybe even a smaller one - rough, extreme bitterness to a point, nothing else. Note 2: re thin smooth texture Canton/Guangzhou vs. HK style cheung fun, not mutually incompatible with Yin Ji nor with other HK Cantonese dim sum restaurants in Montreal, and not that we go to Chinatown frequently these days anymore, but we liked Ruby Rouges bygone Sunday cheung fun chef special in the past with e.g. shredded pork/shredded chicken/shredded vegetables/anything fresh and seasonal, made fresh on the spot - very nice. Not sure whether its still available now and whether the same chef is still there anymore. Last time we went the Sunday special cheung fun was no longer the same. Anyways. Paradoxically, in general, even as a kid, I also liked, and still do, the thicker HK old style steamed shredded chicken rice noodle/rice flour rolls (really rolls, fun kuen), now rarely found in HK, almost extinct I guess anywhere else. That to me is more grandmas style(s). We like all good cheung funs / rice noodle rolls. ==
Really nice and kind staff. Delicious foods.
Specialty cuisine that will not appeal to food court Chinese fans, but will be of great interest to foodies. Congee is an underappreciated comfort food in North America, and rice rolls are a delightful treat. Our server was very generous with his time when we asked to learn more about the restaurants history and cuisine.
Great lunch spot. We always get multiple dishes and share. We love the Chang Fen (obviously) and the congee
The porridge is delicious, and the Thai boneless chicken feet are also delicious.
Wow. Im very impressed. Ive been to 20+ different dimsum places, worked at Chinese restaurants for over a decade. This one is a cut above. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and the depth of flavor is incredible. Very impressed! If theres one bad thing, it was funny how they were quite insistant on taking the menus back quickly, I had to confirm twice that yes, we just ordered, but Id like to keep the menu for a few more minutes to order some more. The price point is also really good. We ordered for 7 people, and it was 128$ with taxes. And we had leftovers. We will be back, thank you and keep up the great work.
I definitely want to give 5 star but I really don t like chow mein noodle, noodle itself soggy not chewy. Except that all foods are so yummy and fresh
Too much too too much too good. Lots of choice and lots of friendly people as employees
Good! Hot chili oil here is super tasty!
Seafood congee
It was just excellent the first time. So we went back the following week. Very good and very good service.
The dishes we selected were very tasty. Abundant.
The rice rolls and porridge here are very good, as are the soy milk and fried dough sticks. The service is particularly good.
If you re craving Chinese steamed rolls and congee, this is the place to go in Montreal. Everything was fresh and delicious. Would recommend their beef brisket rolls !
it
This place will satisfy your rice roll cravings for sure. I tried the shrimp and chive rice roll and the fried dough rice roll, both were fresh and delicious. The chili oil paired perfectly with both dishes. The mango pudding was perfectly sweet. Have to mention that the service was great too. The restaurant was packed during lunch hour on a Thursday afternoon, yet the staff was attentive and courteous. Will be back to try the congee and other rice roll variants.
Their braised beef over rice noodles is something I always have when I come to Montreal. Even better with their phenomenal chili oil. My last time there August 2022 they gave me a complementary shirt! I rave about it to every person I talk to when they ask me how my travels went. Im heading back to Montreal and you better believe this will be the first place Im gonna eat at. Please never change!!!!
I m a big fan of steamed rice noodle roll. In Montreal there s few choice of these kind of food. It s authentic and above average flavor. when I got homesick I would have it. The store looks bright and neat.
Nice food with great service
Rice rolls are delicious! The secret chili sauce is really yyds! The service is also very attentive and meticulous!
Very quick and very nice staff. The food is amazing, very fresh! Very authentic!
Authentic taste of Guangdong. Its signature rice roll is smooth. Beef congee its beef is tendered and the congee base is hot and smooth. Fried fish skin is big, thin and crispy. Staff is very nice, polite, and quick. It is nice to see non Chinese customers enjoying the introduction of the new type of food.
It s great to be able to have such a delicious morning tea in Montreal ( v ) I often take my friends to eat there, and they all say it s delicious. Now I still have a points card to keep me from getting stuck. The only thing I feel a little regretful about is that there is no steamer. I quite like steamers
My favorite Chang fen spot in the town
There is a fast delivery service, and the food is served very quickly.
For the fourth time one of my dishes was reheated which is unacceptable its a shame I wont go back there again
Staff are nice and efficiency. Food is good, price is reasonable. I was hesitated to come to this restaurant since read some unsatisfied commends but what I felt was not the same.
We used to like this restaurant but not anymore. EVERYTHING on the menu is sooo overpriced now! Recently they have raised the price again (oh yeah, they blame the inflation .), but the food quality doesn t keep up with it. Almost $9 + tax + tips for a dim sum that they don t make by themselves but just to steam them. Also, $8 + tax + tips for a cup of cold milk tea Someone left a comment to complain about their price and the shop owner responded by telling that customer to go to McDonald instead and blamed the inflation. People who live here and like Chinese food are not dump ok? There s another dim sum place just 5 mins walk from this one which serves better dim sum and each dish is $2 cheaper. Of course they have the right to keep increasing the price, but customers will eventually walk away ok? To the shop owner, do your market research unless you just target tourists who will only visit your restaurant once and for all. Recently you have started printing some sort of stamp card, but it won t make up for the customers you are losing. Good luck with your pricing strategy. Bye!
Very nice and clean Cantonese food place. Famous for the rice rolls, but their other dishes are great too! I had the roast duck rolls, deep fried fish skin, braised beef brisket, laiwanaise congee and stir fry noodles. Definitely worth a visit for your Canto food fix
A classic chinese dim sum place with freshly made steamed rice rolls. The rice rolls were fresh, the skin is thin and taste delicious. Their congee is a must try. Its warm, flavorful and comes in different varieties. The chicken feet are also a must have if you like the gelatinous taste of it. They increased all the prices since last year, Its no longer a cheap eats. Its still affordable though.
Oh yes! The rice noodle rolls are a winner here! Very soft and the filling was tasty! Everything else is very solid! We got the HK style Cheung fun - which could be softer imo, iced lemon tea, congee and of course the rice noodle rolls.
Delicious !
Service is good, the waiter did a good job explain very detail if i qualify the promotion they have.
I like this restaurant since it s opening in Montreal, I used to come every one or one and a half month; but now the price has really gone up crazy to a unbearable range; so sad, I won t come again. Today I went to the restaurant, I was so surprised to see so much empty tables, it used to be very packed. After I paid, I know why now. When I checked the website, so funny to find the menu price is even more expensive than dine in, then, I see an ad saying if you consume over $20; you would have 20% discount, after calculate back, the high up is exactly the 20% !! Ha !!
The rice rolls and fried noodles are delicious
It s friendly and delicious~! There was a wait around 1pm on Friday, but I came alone and got a seat quickly.
Really good for Montreal standard. Fresh noodle and not frozen like every other places you go to. The ingredients tasted fresh and the cold soya milk tasted real. The service was really nice and efficient. Really reasonable price. Edit: Took 1 star off because the owner confronted me about low tips. Tip should be optional and given based on what the customer feel comfortable with. Its gratuitous. I dont care if the current trend is to give 15%. With inflation, this is all getting out of hand and unreasonable. The owner felt entitled to ask if we want $5 change back for a $40 meal. Yes I do. I would have probably given that tip amount anyways because its good service. But the entitlement is not cool. Also I came from part of the world where tipping isnt a thing and all the tip related negative experiences in North America have re-enforced my beliefs that tipping culture is toxic and I dont support it.
Have a good variety of congee selection. Their dim sum menu is limited, less than 10 choices, but tasty. Its a great choice when you like something light and non-greasy.
The service is very good, but the rice rolls sold at any street stall on the roadside in Guangdong are much inferior to those eaten in New York or Toronto. The quicksand buns are frozen and steamed in Guangzhou restaurants. Everyone knows the price. If you are not lazy, If you want to eat it, I strongly recommend you not to order it.
The food tasted good, however the price is a bit high for the dim sum and snacks. The restaurant is small so it gets crowded very quickly as it opens. Also it s noisy.
Not bad. Menu with affordable prices.
The set of fried dough sticks and soy milk is very good value and very delicious. It is the best fried dough sticks I have ever eaten in the United States. The rice rolls and porridge are also very authentic. I went here two days in a row Dietary restrictions: Cantonese porridge and pickled mustard go well together Must eat fried dough sticks
Comfort food at its best!
You knew it was classic when there were elders there. And generally I don t like Chang fen but this kind was genuinely good.
This is a good a-la-carte type dim-sum place. Their rice noodle dishes are very tasteful, large and filling. We particularly loved the braided beef noodles. Fast service. I just wish they offered some Chinese green vegetable side dishes, like broccoli or bok choy.
Fairly priced tasty food with great service
Good food and good service. Each time you receive something you ordered, they cross out the item on your bill to make sure they dont forget anything.
Recent visit (09/08/2023) Food is still good which Im glad but everything is now so expensive! The portions were also sized down especially for the rice congees. This is such a shame because its such a good place to go. ---- When we could only take out the food, it was good but now that we can sit down and enjoy it fresh, its even better. Everything is very fresh and very hot as if it just came out of the steamer. We have been there multiple times already and we were never disappointed. Of course, some dishes were tastier than others but thats a personal opinion. Being Chinese myself, it has been a while since I could enjoy such quality in Montreal. I missed it. So, I totally recommend it!
Excellent Our favorite restaurant Food
Fantastic food and excellent service.
Had a great time eating delicious food. Employees committed to great service and super friendly :) Vegetarian options: A wide variety of veggie options for veggie lovers
The new coconut latte is so good!!
Great place to have Dim Sum on the go. Its a bit on the pricier end, but the food is excellent. Definitely recommend for anyone craving dimsum food!
Impressed! Good foods! Good service.
Great Cantonese food.
It feels like Masamune s hometown and the service is very good
Really good took it to go... portions a lil small but otherwise really good!
Not everyday that you can come across a chang fen rice roll spot. Lovely restaurant with lots of different varieties of congee and rice rolls. They are so warming and delicious. The Hong Kong style rice rolls were so yummy with the sweet and savory sauce. Shrimp and beef ones are classic too.
We loved our meal. The rice noodle rolls ( ) with beef brisket and the congee were comforting, but above all delicious! The service was quick and welcoming. My current favorite. Not to be missed if you want to try Hong Kong cuisine.
No.1 rice noodle rolls in Montreal!!! Must try!!! Excellent service. Nice and clean restaurant, love it
Best food in town! the best food in town!
This is the first time I encountered a hotel bag charge. I was very embarrassed and asked if I didn t need cutlery on the phone! Look how cool you are, you can t afford the bag but you still act like this. It s so cool to have a black cloth bag. Food is good, however extra charge for bag, no paper bag which provide by 99.99% restaurant, attitude rude. Sorry I am too poor cant afford your unreasonable bag. Increase your service when you earn money, dont focus only on your own benefits. The quality is okay and I have been supporting it, but please make a high-quality Chinese restaurant and pass all the prices on to consumers in terms of food and service. Customers are short-sighted and customers are not fools.
Very tasty. Professional and clean
Yin Ji Cheung Fen is one of my go-to Cantonese restaurants in Montreal. Everything was delicious! Their rice noodle rolls were thin and silky! I d definitely recommend their BBQ pork and chives rice noodle rolls and Laiwanese style congee.
The shrimp dumplings and beef rice rolls are delicious, and the chili oil is even better. Affordable prices, friendly and thoughtful service
Excellent shrimp and vegetable roll. Service was prompt and food was delicious.
Excellent shrimp and vegetable roll.
Traditional Cantonese food. So far the best congee in Montreal for me. Strongly recommended
Excellent quick fix of Chinese cuisine. Very tasty and good efficient service. Try rice noodle rolls
Great great place for great food
We came during a Food Crawl itinerary. It was really good, we ate well during brunch time. The rice soup is well balanced, textured, not too salty. Its perfect Very easy to order from the app (scan with QR code)
Food was fast and delicious. Staff were attentive and welcoming. The thing I was most impressed by was there approach with people living with homeless. Instead of getting angry and chasing a man who came in to take shelter because of the rain, the staff took a very humanist approach and offered the man tea. Pacified the situation. It says long about the management.
Delicious Hong Kong style cuisine.
Food is tasty and authentic, place is clean and bright.
I would always go to this restaurant in Toronto and so happy it s in Montreal now. The rice rolls are all so delicious and fresh. I recommend the congee and fried dough rolls to dip inside. A classic Cantonese breakfast
As a Cantonese, this place goes so hard. Every dish that I order just hits the spot and brings me back to memory lanes. I highly recommend their beef brisket, I had the noodle roll version but wished that I ordered an entire bowl. The only complaint that I have was the price. It is quite expensive for the amount of food you get. For me though, it s definitely worth it for special occasions.
Went there twice during my visit in Montreal. The food was good and the servers were nice. I had sweet corn chang fen and fried buns with coconut coffee once, and shrimp and chive chang fen, curry fish with HK style milk tea another time. All were good. Their coconut coffee was to die for!
I ate a foreign object in the sesame paste. It s so disgusting.
Very good food, amazing service and price was very reasonable! A rare gem definitely worth trying!
Excellent value for money and efficient, friendly service: nothing to complain about! :)
The staff is not nice
Amazing quality and workmanship in every item being served. The menu has to expand to provide more choices.
Food and service gave my family a very good moment and experience. I recommend this restaurant to the public. Parking: Nil
