Your local carinderia. Our bodega-meets-eatery concept combines the convenience of a sari-sari store with the hearty, comforting dishes of a carinderia. From classic favorites like sinigang and kare-kare to our signature OG Bulalo stew, we're dedicated to bringing the vibrant flavors of Filipino cuisine to the 514.
Delicious & freshly made shrimp palabok 😋 its super cozy and love the decor. Great service as well!
Buboy is a really tasty, homey, local restaurant joint with a twist on staple Filipino dishes. We had oxtail karekare, loco-gang, and longsilog. The portions are great, rice-heavy as what your Filipino mom will put on your plate. We had calamansi juice as well, which is always a refreshing drink to enjoy
Hard to find another good Filipino restaurant in Montreal with flavours close to home. The OG Bulalo hit the spot I was craving for.
Super yummy food and super nice staff :) We had the summer espesyals and they were delicious! epic halo halo, the leche flan on top was great. Can’t wait to go back and eat more!
Buboy is my favorite Filipino restaurant here in Montréal. They offer the best-tasting dishes paired with the most amazing staff. Shoutout to Chef Eric for always thinking of ways on how to innovate Filipino flavors through his unique dishes, and for placing Filipino cuisine in the MTL food map. Pro-tip: Ask for their homemade ice cream. I don’t think it’s posted in the menu, but it’s definitely worth the try.
It was our first time having Filipino food and what an amazing experience! We had the #7 & #8 and while both delicious, #7 was a flavour I’ve never had before and absolutely loved it. The egg yolk mixed with the sauce was 10/10! And the service was even better than the food, which is saying a lot! The cashier helped us by explaining everything on the menu and was so friendly! Will definitely be back again :)
I can't believe i've been missing out on such delicious food. My first experience with filipino food is a boodle fight seafood style, and I was blown away by how delicious it was. The presentation too was spot-on. Now the price was $65 before tax but the amount of food and the quality of the food served up to what I expect. My appetite is big but I ended up having to pack some food. It was too much! Definitely will come back.
This Filipino restaurant is a true culinary gem. The flavors are outstanding, presenting a delightful departure from the ordinary. It's a must-visit for anyone passionate about food. The quality of ingredients shines through in every dish, with sauces that clearly speak to meticulous preparation and premium selection. I'm already looking forward to making this exceptional spot one of my regular go-tos.
The best Filipino food in Montreal.
We came for their limited all you can eat Sunday brunch To;dr: would recommend, the food is good! The food was really good, not too many options but every single dish tastes very good The first plate tasted a lot better than the 2nd serving we had, the rice was quite mushy and the meat was somehow saltier (could be us) Service was really good, 4 star because she proposed food and we thought it was included but it ended up being extra
Went for Sunday brunch and it was delicious. Generous all you can eat portions. Staff was great! Looking forward to our next visit!
Ive lived in the neighborhood for 10 years and I just discovered this wonder!! I will comeback again n again i would give it a 6 star if it was possible
The food was delicious!
I go there often since I work close by, usually the girl in front is super nice and helps with the menu since I m not familiar with this cuisine. But when she s not there, it s very difficult to get more information since they make you feel uncomfortable for not knowing their menu by giving attitude and 0 customer service. Like sorry I m not from your country like why you so rude for no reason fr cuz I just want to know what I am ordering Anyway the food is good, but the attitude of some of their workers is crazy P.s. sorry for not knowing ur menu but I guess you are standing there for a reason
Everything on the menu is so good. OG bulalo and oxtail kare kare my ultimate favourites!
Buboy is a standout for its inventive Filipino fusion cuisine. The flavors are a delightful blend of traditional and contemporary. Each dish is a masterful fusion of classic Filipino ingredients and innovative culinary techniques. If you re looking for a fresh take on Filipino cuisine, Buboy is a must-visit.
its pretty hard to find good street filipino food in general but this restaurant brings traditional filipino flavour with a twist and its amazing . I highly recommend to all who want to try filipino food :) try any silog plates , crab ragoons and the sinigang ( my favorite). you wont regret it
I m disappointed with the Bulalugaw. Its too salty! I couldn t eat it! it feels like eating salt or fish sauce.
I just left this cute little restaurant and I cant help but leave a 5 stars a review. The girl at the reception was so sweet and kind and the burger was AMAZING!! I highly recommend!!
Delicious! Limited seating, but the food was amazing. Had the OG Bulalo and the Oxtail with rice. Wow! Will be back for sure to try other items in the menu. Everything looks amazing to try. Friendly and fast service. Summer special: Bulalo burgers! Wow, just tried it. Probably the best burger Ive had!
Great comfort food
Everything delicious
Nice people, nice service, delicious food ! You must try
Ordered the longonisa before and it never came like this..... Extremely undercooked, like it wasnt cooked at all, no bite just put smush and rubber.
Place is amazing, food was great. Kayla and Max were the best.
Great discovery, buboy was able to attract my palate by offering me decadent and tasty dishes. Highly recommended!
I absolutely love this restaurant, the food and staff. They re always super friendly and go out of their way with recs and service. My sole complaint is that they re often out of certain dishes and preferring not to eat red meat or pork, it can be a bit tricky as most dishes contain the latter. I have tried their Miki Noodle soup (fav), the OG Bulalo and shrimp Palabok. All were fantastic! (Dont worry about the picture, the rangoons come in 5 but I couldn t help myself from eating one first lol)
kind staff and homemade food!
Familiar, delicious & satisfying! Lot s of flavour and it definitely hits the spot for Filipino food cravings!
Food was rich in flavors! Probably one of the best Filipino food I had in montreal. However, some plates had a very unhealthy amount of oil
They are the best!!! 5/5
So good!! I come here almost weekly
Great experience! The food is delicious and plentiful. The service was fast and the staff super nice. The setting is intimate with affordable prices.
Best Filipino food in Montreal!
No complain whatsoever. Hurry up and try this hidden gem.
I ordered oxtail kare-kare and bulalo pares. Amazing food!!!!
Bulalugaw was great!
Great Filipino food with a twist! Must try.
Fantastic
Love this spot. I really enjoyed trying their soups, they were extremely comforting, and had that home cooked mood to them. Everything is delicious. Portions are a good size and food is ready fast.
This place exceeded our expectations! The Bulalo Pares was sooooo tasty, and the Loco gang sauce . Chimichurri sauce on-top of the balut was a really good pairing.
Buboy is a GEM. The absolutely delicious oxtail kare kare, all the beef dishes, the CRAB RANGOON and the best damn bone broth out there - the food is just amazing. Even the desserts! Just all around a great time and you feel good after eating. You feel the love and care through the food.
Small but terrible (in a good way). Visited this place for breakfast. We came early for breakfast. Basically like the opener customers. And so we have the place for ourselves. Ordered the miki noodle soup (happy I did). Its best miki noodle soup Ive had. Unique taste, the coconut milk blends perfectly blends.
Let me keep this short if you have something to complain about it your delusional well prepared quality food made from The soul healthy portions definitely on my List of restaurants to eat at. Food : 5/5
I had a great time there last night. We had the seafood boodle fight and it was soooo good and beautifully presented. Very cozy atmosphere and the staff was super friendly. We got to meet the cook who made it and you could tell he was dedicated and put a lot of hard work into it. Very cool :)
Very good heartwarming food (though I should probably stop eating too much meat or my heart will wear out ). Cozy place, great vibes and nostalgic aesthetics, and very friendly folks working the kitchen and counter. Can t wait come back and eat more silog and bulalo.
I love buboy! I eat there almost every week, their dishes are amazing and delicious, well thought and different from the other Filipino restaurants, the taste has more depth and is richer! the chef is super kind and everything on their menu is to die for!
This restaurant is a hidden gem. Delicious, affordable food in generous portions.
The best bulalo house in Montreal! This restaurant serves such comforting food, reminds me of my Filipino parents cooking. My all time favourite dishes are: Bulalo Steak, Loco-Gang, and their Corned Beef Silog (made in house ). Also, the broth is to die for!! Not only is it super tasty and comforting, but it s good for the skin Lastly, the staff is super friendly and the ambiance is just so chill and nice. A solid 10/10
Highly recommend!! This place is such a gem. Yummy filipino foods with a twist. Amazing staff. Cozy and very welcoming. We d definitely be back here when we come back to Montreal
Just found it in one of the group and try to go to it and bulalo is very good with this cold weather..staff are very accommodating..
Probably one of the single best restaurants in all of NDG a serious hidden gem of a restaurant with insanely delicious food. Super friendly and kind owners too. Would recommend this to everyone.
Authentic and delicious. AMAZING experience and nothing like it around here. Wow!!
Favorite pinoy place in town! Been here many times bringing friends who have not tasted Filipino food and were not disappointed! Happy tummy always!
Food was amazzzziiingggggg. Im so impressed with all the flavours, especially after finding out all the ingredients were made from SCRATCH. This restaurant is a MUST for all you montreal foodies!!!
The best bulalohan in town!! This place never disappoints. You wont find these flavours anywhere else i guarantee it!!!
The food was so Delicious, exceptional and savory. Staff was very friendly. This is my third time coming to Montreal and i have went to numerous restaurants in the city but Buboy is literally my favorite spot to eat at now. I will always come here for every visit as a must go before doing anything else.
Just had the bulalo steak most comforting food I had in a while. Can t wait to try the rest of the menu!
our number 1 go-to restaurant when visiting montreal. all of their dishes are so worth it, you will never be dissapointed. the staff are so cool too
I took the beef dish in mushroom sauce as recommended by the man there and it was a delight in the mouth. The mushroom sauce was so delicious I should have asked for extra sauce hehe. The meat was tender and the portion very generous, so generous that I saved my dessert for later. Im really not disappointed with this stop and I would definitely go back there a small restaurant that doesnt catch the eye at first glance, but which is worth the detour for a cultural trip to the Phillinne for a meal . In addition, the service was very warm. Thank you to you and good luck.
I ordered their vegetarian noodle soup and it was absolutely delicious! Tangy with just the right amount of heat! The broth was rich and savoury without being greasy and the portion was generous and packed with veggies! The service was lovely and the atmosphere is really relaxed and friendly. Cant wait to go back!
I died and came back to life.
how are you charging 23 dollars for 3 pieces of oxtail white rice. I ordered on uber eats and this is what you get shm.
First time trying this place and Im happy I did! Had the OG Bulalo and loved it. So tasty and comforting! Will be ordering this again :)
Pretty great spot for Filipino soups and stews. Not often can you find a vegetarian option for sinigang so it was a pretty nice surprise. Ordered with rice and mami noodles on the side. The noodles are generally served in the soup. For those looking for a nice sour vegetarian soup, its a good option. They also serve buko (baby coconut) pie--housed in a flaky french pastry shell. Its nice, creamy, and buttery. Good stuff! Vegetarian options: Sinigang is a spicy sour soup with veggies
Quality real traditional Filipino food. Highly recommend!
Very nice spot on Monkland! The staff; super nice and helpful. The food was delicious, I had the Loco-gang. The ambiance was very cute; the place isnt big but its really nice and cozy. Its very colorful which I love! Feels very home-y Will definitely visit again! I need to try everything on the menu! (Summer goal set)
Very tasty and staff is amazing !!!! the food is so goodd !! Did not expect this! you have to try the dre s pies!!! And cantaloup juice is freaaakinnnnn amazing & refreshing! Honestly if you ever are in the area you must stop there and try it! You can even hang your picture on the board !!!
Full disclosure: this is my coworkers brothers restaurant. Either way, I loved it. No frills, just great Filipino food, in a fun, family style atmosphere. Portions are generous, my bulalo had a lot of meat in it, the broth was very tasty, noodles perfect. The cantaloupe juice was super refreshing and not too sweet. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu!
Food was ok, portions are very small for the price you pay. Bulalo steak is $20 for mostly rice, wouldn t recommend. Spicy sinigang was too tart for my liking, but my partner was ok with it. Overall, cheap presentation and expensive prices means I can t recommend the place to anyone
Finally a Filipino restaurant in NDG. Super friendly staff, tons of comfort foods on the menu and very reasonably priced. I recommend the ox tail kare kare, the og bulalo, the fried crab rangoon and the very Filipino, cantaloupe juice! They also serve yummy pies from Drespies and flavored popcorn from Whatspoppinelle.
Food was amazing , staff super helpful!! Amazing chef
Had the kare kare. Really great and tasty made with real peanuts. Had the privilege to taste all the broths and they were all really tasty. Long life to buboy! Congrats Chef.
Great Filipino food in the heart of NDG/Monkland. Buboy s take on filipino food is carinderia style, here you will taste a different style of Filipino food compared to the rest of Montreal. Food was great and fairly priced, loved the cantoloupe juice! Staff were friendly and atmosphere was great. Their menu was well crafted and this is what makes this place stand out.
too salty
Brought my family to buboy and everyone loved it, the person that said the food was salty in the reviews just has that salty personality. Food is very tasty
bulalo was good, a bit salty but wont be enough to lower it down to 4 stars. food came fast, tiny space but for some reason, i like it, eat and leave.
Buboy Montreal has been my number one pregnancy craving! I literally dream about it all the time! The food is flavourful and comforting - exactly how filipino food should be! Even my boyfriend, who is a self-proclaimed food critic agrees that Chef Eric has the amazing ability of capturing the authentic flavours of his homeland and turning them into creative yet hearty dishes. If I didn t live so far, I would be eating the Bulalugaw every day hopefully one day a Buboy Brossard opens ;)!
Super friendly. Good food. Try it out.
Authentic Filipino food with fun twists. Great portions, taste, and service. They know what they re doing. 10/10 would recommend to even my Filipino mom.
We headed into Buboy to grab some Halo Halo donuts from Deux Becs, but found ourselves staying for more when we saw Buboys menu. We ordered the OG Bulalo, Bulalo Pares, Lumpiang Shanghai, and Cantaloupe juice in addition to the Halo Halo donuts. The OG Bulalo and Bulalo Pares are comfort food at its finest; they were a warm hug in a bowl. The Lumpiang Shanghai were crispy, flavorful, and addictive, and the Cantaloupe juice was refreshing! The Halo Halo donuts from Deux Becs were so decadent. I even added a bit of evaporated milk just to bring the Halo Halo taste full circle! The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was lively. The space is small but I think its what gives it its charm. It allowed for conversations to happen among strangers, so it really felt like you were at a party in someones home. In short, Buboy serves up some tasty Filipino flavors that are reminiscent of moms or dads home cooking. Well be back for sure!
Friendly staff, love the picnic area!
Buboy became one of my favorite Filipino restaurants , the vibe , the authentic food with twist is to die for. On hot summer days, having a cantaloupe juice hits the spot Id definitely recommend coming here
I ve eaten at Buboy many times and they re food is legit!!! Highly recommend the original bulalo, SO good!
Great food, service and atmosphere.
All the stars speaks for this review!
Amazing place with amazing food and an amazing team. Felt very welcoming and has every element to the culture of the Philippines. I would eat here everyday.
How good it was! thank you very much
Buboy in Montreals NDG neighborhood is a culinary haven where Filipino tradition meets innovation. Their Buffalo Sisig is a delectable masterpiece battered and fried pig ears atop crispy fries, coated in tangy buffalo sauce. The marriage of spiciness, saltiness, and texture is a revelation, a testament to their commitment to both authenticity and creativity. The limited seating adds to the cozy charm, making diners feel right at home. I like their halo-halo too, a perfect icy dessert for a sunny day. A must-visit for a great dining experience that reimagines Filipino classics with a delightful twist.
Rich and savoury meat and broth, very friendly staff and overall a really good dining experience
GREAT PLACE AND GREAT FOOD. Me and my friends made a commitment to come back every 15th of the month to try the full menu and figure out what our favorite is (today is the 3rd month, I already decided that Loco Gang is the winner for me)
Had the Pares and Kare-Kare, as well as the canteloupe drink. Both dishes were excellent! My partner and I slightly preferred the Pares, because the beef was just so tasty and flavourful. But I also really likes the Kare-Kare, which even used actual ox tail! We also had the crab rangoons which were so addictively good, we basically finished it all in one sitting. We had the food to go, and I wished the Pares had more sauce to go with it (maybe the rice absorbed most of the sauce) and the Kare-Kare came with a side of shrimp paste. That said, the food was so good we can t wait to go back and try more of the menu! :) Highly recommend!
A small counter offering the most delicious filipino meal soup! Generous portions. Classic flavor with their own flare and twist. The food will please both filipinos and those who want to try filipino cuisine. They also offer dessert options and some filipino food merch from other well known filipino food spots in Montreal! Not to mention the warm service they offer as soon as you step in
I went to their pop up and YUM! I crave Filipino food all the time! Their oxtail was so perfect. As was the lumpia. So well done.
Im obsessed. Im from Toronto and couldnt wait to try this place on my next visit to Montreal. I most certainly was not disappointed. Every bite of the OG Bulalo was delicious and the beef shank and bone marrow was no joke. My dad even said it tasted better than the one he had in the Philippines. I highly recommend this place. Love na love!
Hearty, delicious food and friendly staff. The bone broth and brisket is amazing. Such a great addition to Monkland village.
Everything was so delicious and the staff was incredibly welcoming. Cute very clean spot with comforting meals. Can t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.
My new go-to when I crave Filipino food. Obsessed with the kare-kare and the bulalugaw. The portions are generous, I always have some leftovers lol. The space is cozy and cute, the service is great, staff is super nice. Cant wait to try out the rest of the menu. Congrats again! :-)
Probably my new go-to for Filipino food. The dishes here are delicious and extremely filling. The kare kare brought me back to my grandma s and the bulalo steak was so flavourful and addictive. Can t wait to try more items on the menu!
super legit, highly recommend!
Awesome food! Amazing service!
A cute homey restaurant. It has an inviting atmosphere and the staffs are friendly. The food was delicious and made me feel cosy. Would definitely revisit to try other dishes.
If you like Crab Rangoon, Oxtail Kare-Kare and Bulalo Pares this is the place for you. . Ive had a bunch of Philippino style food before but here at @buboymtl its like comfort and wholesome cooking had a baby. Its definitely on the heavy, put you in a coma, style vibe and I love it. . Really nice traditional spot that has been serving up the NDG area of Montreal all summer and giving people a delicious take on amazing Philippino Cooking. . They also have this amazing Cantaloupe Juice that is super refreshing and at times they even are known to do a collab or 2 with other great individuals like the master behind the Halo Halo Donut I had from @deuxbecs, really the master of donut making himself! . If your in the area you guys are lucky because coming into the winter season, these guys are Gunna keep you feed and fat all winter long .
Food reminds me of home but better everything is sooo frickin gooood asffkadjdk. Erics cooking literally heals me, definitely my new favorite Filipino spot!!!
Friendly staff and very good food! Can t wait to come back to try the rest of the menu!
This place is unreal. Great food, great service, generous portions. Definitely coming back Food : 5/5
5 star everthing
Love the do do do
I ve been trying to visit Buboy for weeks. Finally got the chance and was not disappointed. Tried the OG Bulalo which was tastebud meltingly good - unfortunately they were out of noodles when we went so I ll be back to try it with! Beef fell apart in the dish and the broth was so flavourful I truly savoured every spoonful. My husband tried the loco gang and fell in love with it. Naturally we took some pork siopao to go which served as a phenomenal late night snack. Was so happy to see it on the menu. Wonderfully marinated pork. Everything on the menu is really well priced and the portion sizes are absolutely perfect. Service was fantastic and the vibe was just immaculate. We ate in and really enjoyed the time spent there. Will be back to try the entire rest of the menu (starting with those lumpia!). 100/10.
This Og soup is out of this world. The broth is delicious, the meat is soft with bone marrow, yuuum, and the service is exceptional
It was a great atmosphere and good food with awesome service from staff
Delicious food! Authentic filipino food!
Pretty yum. Wish there was more dimension and the quality can be hit or miss. Something with acidity would work wonders as a side dish
Awesome food, awesome chef, awesome waitress! Love the energy! Much love Was so good forgot to take pictures, actually ordered 3 meals just to taste more.
Delicious food, fast service, cozy insides, great prices. What more could you ask for
Love the food and staff!! Highly recommend the og bulalo and the oxtail kare kare
Tasty, speedy, unreal. Would come here every day if I could. Got the longanisa silog and the bulalo pares that came with the most delicious broth. Food : 5/5
excellent food, quick efficient service, and a reasonable price, particularly if you arrive before noon
Great menu! Tasty comfort food, nice portions Extra star for good service!
Too much oil for the OG Bulalo and beef is too big and have less noodles.. bulalugaw too much salt and for miki to creamy too much coconut..
Amazing vibes
They do the hard work so you dont have to watch a pot for hours. Would recommend their popular dishes for an authentic Filipino taste.
Really, whether its for silog in the morning or Bulalo during the day or another choice from the few excellent offerings on the menu, everything is tasty and really good! Masarap! A good little Filipino restaurant, with comfort food! Salamat po for great food!
Cozy, friendly and delicious.
Great food and atmosphere. Owners are extremely kind. Excited to try other items on their menu
