All four dishes we had, were creative and had an inspired core idea. Two of the four were transcendent. The monthly rotating/changing menu is a real plus. Exciting food experience. Location is a bit cramped. Service at times either a bit slow or rushed. Gratuity included is a serious perk.

We had a lovely experience at Lawrence. We did the 8 course tasting menu with wine pairing. Every dish we had was delicious and loved the use of local resources. Every wine that was paired with the food was perfect and tasted great. The service at the restaurant was amazing - everyone was so kind and knowledgeable and passionate about providing us with the best experience possible. We cant wait to go back next time were in town.

My recent dining experience at Lawrence in Montreal was nothing short of incredible easily one of the best meals I ve had this year. The menu showcased a range of exquisite dishes, each more delightful than the last. Highlights of the Meal: Lobster: Perfectly cooked, the lobster was succulent and flavorful, setting a high bar for the evening. Lamb and Anchovy Tartare: A unique and delightful combination, the tartare was a standout dish, expertly balancing the rich lamb with the briny anchovies. Zucchini Flowers Stuffed with Chicken Offal: This dish was a revelation, with the delicate zucchini flowers providing the perfect vessel for the rich and savory chicken offal. Been wanting to try this place for awhile, and went with a friend visiting from out of town. We had the small tasting menu because we knew we would enjoy anything on the menu. We appreciated the really vibrant and unique flavour combinations, and beautifully presented dishes. The portions were a bit small, and although everything was excellent, no one dish really blew us away. Excellent wine suggestions from the servers, and impeccable service means that I would be happy to come back here and see what else the chef comes up with. I LOVE that gratuity is included in the pricing.

Excellent meal! Tasty and original dishes. However, given the price and the type of cuisine, the service is really low-end and unfriendly. The dishes are very poorly described and there is no proactive wine suggestion.

After reading reviews, expectations were very high. Food was rather non-eventful, portions were minute vis-a-vis the hefty price tag. Service was good although rather slow. No intention of returning.

Dining at Lawrence was a highlight of my visit to Montreal. The restaurants tasting menu, accompanied by a perfectly matched selection of wines, offers a satisfyingly complete journey without feeling overwhelming. The service at Lawrence is impeccable warm, welcoming, and attentive. The intimate space is so charming, and the food is exquisite; the desserts, in particular the kouign-amann, were fantastic. Lawrence offers not just a meal, but an experience that will draw me back to Montreal very soon!

Charming, warm, friendly space, excellent food (tuna/marrow toast!), excellent drinks (Quebec Chardonnay!). Effortless service made us feel like we were friends visiting. Worth noting they use a non-tip model, so everyone is already paid a fair wage and you don t need to do any math at the end of the meal (which could be a challenge after 8 services with wine pairings). Wholeheartedly recommended. Keep up the great work, Marc & co!

Another great experience at Lawrence. I had the tasting menu, my highlights were the Jerusalem artichokes confit w/lobster , a kind of sea chucrut garnie with sturgeon; skate and a whelk sausage and a lamb tartare on a bone-marrow dripped toast with Cantabrian anchovies. The chef keeps outdoing himself. The service was friendly and very professional as always.

The food was not bad. Details that made it a subpar experience were as follows: we had a reservation but had to wait 15 min before being seated; the whiskey I ordered was running out (unfortunately you can see these things when seated at the bar), so I was given about 75% of whats usual without explanation; I waited 45 min for a small plate of ravioli. Overall, the overhead was a bit much. The taco place next door was fantastic.

Amazing, the chef is very talented and the atmosphere is very relaxed. You can watch the chef at work, which I found very cool.

What a delicious food, the flavors combinations are just out of this world, excellent quality food. - don t come here if you don t appreciate food, save your money. - the only thing is that the portions are really small, so you have to order many options.

This was an amazing experience at Montreal s best restaurant. I have eaten at many restaurants across the city over the years but Lawrence is a level or two above the rest. Intimate space, outstanding music with fantastic acoustics so that you don t have to scream over the music to talk. We had the tasting menu and every course was delicious. A great variety of different foods mixed with fresh produce and the perfect combination of flavors. I can t wait for our next visit!

My husband found this place online. He noticed the high ratings and reviews, so we had to try it out. The staff are so friendly. We ordered the following: 1. hot lemon water 2. latte (so pretty!) that came with sugar cubes. I wanted to eat them all. lol 3. donuts (vanilla and lemon flavours) - so good! 4. scones with jam 5. English breakfast 6. salmon trout with eggs It was a long walk for us to get here, but it was so worth it! Will definitely come back.

We had a great evening. The restaurant has a very pleasant, intimate atmosphere (decor and music). View of the kitchen where we see the chef, alone, putting together dishes with rhythm and mastery to satisfy the room of around thirty seats. The overall service is full of very appreciable little touches (Ill let you discover them...). We went there as part of MTL à Table, 4-course menu between land and sea, very well-controlled flavors and portions! We stayed alcohol-free this evening, but the wine list looks incredible and you will be advised by a sommelier. The most? The service is included in the price! You can go there with your eyes closed! Favorites for lamb and clam chowder. Thanks to the team!

Cozy, cozy, intimate, unpretentious. Bistronomic cuisine with a beautiful personality, subtle and original taste. Selection of wine from Quebec and elsewhere, dont be afraid to let yourself go, like this Gamay red to accompany the striped bass cooked to perfection. Or this Vouvray from Pinon, a magnificent Chenin with an apple note. Attentive, pleasant, professional service.

Cozy atmosphere, very competent and pleasant service. The tasting menu comes in several small, tasty and original but very satisfying portions. A perfect note for a romantic evening.

Very cute and cosy restaurant serving a variety of small plates. I had the lentils and carrots which were absolutely delicious. The lentils in vinaigrette are savoury and fresh with some acidity brought by tiny pieces of pickles. The carrots were warm and sweet with a spicy touch from the muhammarra and a nice addition of mint (which surprised me). I had these two options with a cortado (delicious coffee by the way) and I felt comfortably full. The vegan options for breakfast are limited which is a pity but the server was nice enough to help me find vegan options in the menu. My friend had the pikelets which were buttery and fluffy, as well as a fried egg which she was very happy with. Went around 9:15am on a Sunday and was already bustling so I would go pretty early! The location is quite small but I really appreciate that it doesn t feel extremely busy or noisy.

We came here because we actually mixed up Lawrence and Larry s based on the google reviews. Lawrence is the fine dining restaurant off to the side of Larry s, and did not have steak tartare on their menu (which was what we were looking for). Despite the mixup the food was still very good. We had the flat bread appetizer, corn and mushroom risotto, and lamb. Everything tasted great but the appetizer and risotto were really unique. Being a big eater, my only complaint is that the portions were too small, but it may be a given for French style fine dining. Tip is already included which was nice touch since we didn t have to think about it. They also gave us some chocolates on the house after we got the bill.

I have been going to Lawrence for many years and they have been consistently great on all fronts: taste of the food, quality of the service, etc. It is also a restaurant that has character, its own unique identity/charm (in a city where there are so many restaurants like Montreal, it is very hard for a restaurant to have its own cachet. They have it).

Consistently one of the best restaurants we ve ever been to.. for us, no trip to Montréal is complete without a visit to Lawrence. The food is thoughtful and elegant, the attention detailed and welcoming. A perfect restaurant.

I tried a lot of stuff on the menu but I mostly come for their burger here. The burger is great but very inconsistent, sometimes its cooked medium, sometimes medium rare. The last time I went the buns were kind of burned but I didnt have time to ask for another one since it was near the curfew hour

[Brunch] I have rarely been so pleasantly surprised by a restaurant! The service was impeccable, prices included tip. The oysters were delicious, the burgers fantastic. All the dishes are well arranged with a balanced and sophisticated mix of flavors. The fries with their homemade mayonnaise were super good. A delight, I highly recommend!

I went to Lawrence for my 25th birthday and it was an absolutely incredible experience. The food was amazing, and the service went above and beyond. Tsatsu was fantastic especially and genuinely cared to make my time at Lawrence memorable. 10/10 check it out!

Lawrence and Larry s exchanged their respective addresses. Which means that the Lawrence now finds itself in a smaller location which is better suited to the genre in my humble opinion: Jazz music and cozy atmosphere. Everything was good: The food was excellent, the drinks well made, the wine by the glass well chosen and the service impeccable. We took at 2: Oysters yellowfin tuna tataki Pork belly Squid Sablefish The old fashioned and gin and tonic was well done. The suggested wines all well chosen. *Portions are small, but everything is delicious.

We did the tasting menu and everything was delicious. Pictures posted of each dish. Started with sushi - even though it wasnt cut with sushi knife, it was still sushi grade. They could open just a sushi restaurant if they wanted. Next was sardine with bacon on toast. The cabbage can out simultaneously. Then came a ravioli dish and then to the goose. Another salad of cucumber and radish was served with the goose. I wasnt a big fan of the beer called jet lag. For dessert we had apple bread which was amazing and the tart.

The menu is creative and delicious. The staff was nice and keen on giving explanations about the menu. Their Dusty Rose cocktail was an absolute delight.

Lovely room, great service and wine list...but the food was so very disappointing. Our table had 3 strip steaks - everyone tough to the point of almost being inedible...with little flavour and spongy reconstituted morels. For a restaurant touting pride of doing their own butchery, this was a dismal fail of animal protein. The oysters were the best part of the meal...and the tagliatelle was solid. For more than $100/head before tip...we all left still hungry. Really so disappointing, especially since we had highly recommended it to our friends. This was our 3rd visit but will be our last.

The raw fish and chilies is a must have. Pastas are also really good. Dont hesitate to ask for (and take) recommendations on wine.

The service was good, though it s not very clear where the host s podium is and I was confused about who to talk to about the reservation I had. Other than that, the menu has a good variety of things but we were informed that for dinner, everything is a tapas style, meant to be shared which is really interesting but my boyfriend and I don t have the same diet. He can usually only eat chicken or seafood and there were zero options with chicken on the menu. I think there was only one vegetarian option too. That s okay, the vibe was really nice and everything and the staff were super kind. I just had no idea that the menu was a shared type of thing as nothing indicated that on the menu itself, or the website and no reviews said anything about it either.

I loved the brunch here. The scrambled eggs are excellent and so is the French toast!

To have at least 50 brunches in Montreal, the one at Lawrence is super disappointing. I ordered the salmon and scrambled eggs, the salmon is just balanced like that on the side without a toast with scrambled eggs on it. No salad, capers, onions or even lemon. So its very expensive for what it is. Very small quantity, I went to get some brioches from Guillaume next door afterwards.

Food and drinks were great

This restaurant makes you realize why Montreal is a wonderful city. This is an excellent place if you are looking for quality and service. Recipes are carefully made and delicately served. Tea and coffee are well chosen. The place is not big but simply decorated. I love it and I ll come back. Second visit: I still confirm my wonderful last experience. Excellent ingredients and service. If you are looking for something different, this is the place to try without a doubt. The vibe is good and you feel the passion for perfection: what else!

Super tasty!

Came here for brunch with some friends for the first time and wasnt disappointed. Surprisingly not too crowded on a saturday morning, even though we had to wait for a 4 people table. But if youre 2, seating is super quick. I did remove one star because the meals dont include mini breakfast potatoes and thats what makes a brunch for me. Also their hash browns are good but they arent traditional. I ordered the egg and sausage sandwich and it was devine. I would absolutely recommend. Also the scones, they are so buttery!

These peeps are totally nailing it with the current pandemic situation. Sublime dishes and wines delivered carefully, with their well known empathetic service and knowledge alive and well over the phone. Its as if youre sitting in the resto. If this is the new normal then bring it on.

Came here for one of the best burger in Montreal and I was NOT disappointed. A big (but not excessive) tasty burger filled my craving. The staff was nice and courteous, they have a few spots to eat outside

Easily one of the best meals I have EVER had. Deft, unpretentious excellence. Warm server, genius wine pairings and sublime fare.

This place is special. The seven-course set meal is gastronomic performance art, a series of inventions (tuna sashimi on bone marrow-loaded sourdough toast; smoked eel with horseradish icecream and crunchy kohlrabi) youve never had and will never have again. Every one works. Brilliantly. And if youre into wine, dont choose from the list: go with the sommeliers pairings (five half-glasses). They are as unique and delicious as the food.

I tried their cheese sandwich, their burger and their french toast and everything was incredibly good!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its cheaper at lunch but its expensive for dinner and brunch. I was lucky with my french toast but my familys plates were not amazing at all. The service is always good.

Legit best burger in MTL. Hands down. Not even close.

If ever you are missing salt for your kitchen just order the burger. Its got more than enough. The bacon is soft and limps. Not well cooked. The bread was soggy. The burger was so salty, i stopped half way before my heart stopped. Paid 54$ for 2 burgers and fries. I do not mind paying a higher price but this was a big dissapointment.

I couldnt wait to try this table and we loved it. The service was fast and friendly, the explanations clear and assured. In short, the employees know their menu and wine list well. They also offer interesting cocktails and a small list of well-chosen microbrewery beers. Their suggestions all turned out to be delicious. The ravioli was delicate and the sauce was finger-licking good. The roast chicken was melt in your mouth with a wonderful fennel sauce. Very balanced. The rapini was a little too bitter but overall was interesting. It is true that the portions are small but they are really meant to be eaten slowly and savored. Its a restaurant where you can take your time, while sipping your drink. Its a small space that fills up quickly. Better to make a reservation. Very simple decor with mid-century modern touches and a view of the central bar and the semi-open kitchen.
