Is it always this noisy? Maybe it s my old age for sure, because of this, I will not return . It s a pity because the wine list is well curated and the dishes I selected were delicious. At least the trout which was absolutely stunning as a main course. The appetiser however, I can not remember For sure, alone at my table, people watching is bar none. Beautiful staff, beautiful guests and I am happily married. Very happily married If you want to party, this might be the place to open the evening when you have somewhere else to go to afterwards. If you want to go alone or on a date, forget it. It is way too noisy and distracting. Sorry team Chasse et Pêche, you are amazing. But, really, I am being honest, or too old for you, even in my middle age

A hidden restaurant side on the buried ground floor. A cozy, but warm atmosphere. Inventive and original cuisine, based on products from Quebec and elsewhere. And Andrea for serving us and advising us with delight and malice. We have been endowed.

Very noisy and for small eaters

Im mixed. I was happy to finally try this restaurant which was recommended to me but I dont think I will return. Positive points first: - The space is well laid out with several rooms which gives the impression that there are not many of us. - The service is well orchestrated and the servers ensure that you dont miss anything throughout the meal -Quality of presentation of dishes -Quality of food used. What really bothered us: -Music too loud for a restaurant that wants to be intimate and of high quality. I dont want to shout to make myself heard in such a setting and I really dont understand why many restaurants in Montreal persist with this kind of atmosphere. We are there to eat and chat, not to dance. -The service was extremely long. -The dishes are good but not exceptional. -The quantity is unequal between the dishes, and you cant even guess that in the price displayed. I was lucky enough to have plates normally provided while my partner ended up with starter-type quantities even for the main course (the starter was even smaller!) I wont hide the fact that we was afraid of being hungry...which in my opinion is very surprising when you pay that amount. This is not the first time that we have this kind of quantity in a restaurant but generally there are several services with a fixed price. There just a starter and a main course was really disappointing. In short, we had a good evening but I dont understand either the price of the dish Vs the quantity on the plate or the music spoils the atmosphere a little.

Unique culinary experience to discover

Helen and the staff this evening were exceptionally welcoming, making it a comfortable experience for my wife and I. As for the food, the wagyu and lobster was likely the best meal my wife ever had. The chanterelle appetizer was wonderful as well. I had the venison dish, that was perfectly accompanied by the polenta and fiddleheads. Keep up the excellent work!

An exceptional experience. Incredible service (makes you wonder if they could read our minds). Utensils changed between all dishes. The selection of starters, meals and desserts on the menu are original and certainly worth the detour (or return). The cocktails are delectable (pisco sour and white port). As for the food (hamashi, foie gras risotto, wagyu and lobster) we are still speechless. Wide choice of wines. Hunting and Fishing is by far the best restaurant and of superior quality to others in its category. In terms of service, it exceeded our expectations which were already very high due to its rating of 4.7/5 stars (Google). This restaurant is well worth a 5 star rating. A special attention to Dominique, Hélène, the cooks and all the others who made this date night unique and perfect. See you soon !!

I liked this restaurant so much that I came back after they changed the menu but I was very disappointed, the ribs were greasy and the salmon was not good.

Excellent service and food. Even the butter they served with the bread was excellent. Recommend the short ribs. One of the desserts was served with popcorn ice cream which was done really well. Parking: Paid lot close by, but it was very busy. Kid-friendliness: We saw kids eating in the restaurant, would suggest looking at the menu first to see if there are options your kid would eat.

We had a fantastic dinner. Our waitress was helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. We ordered the tasting menu which, unlike many fancy places, was well priced and not overly huge amounts of food (although we did not go home hungry). Highly recommended!

What can you say about a place that is perfection? The food was sublime. Perfect. Satisfying. Elevating. The atmosphere was quiet and alluring. The staff was perfect, presided on by a hostess that was present without being invasive, knowledgeable in the whole of the menu, and was as charming as she was beautiful. I love this place.

Cozy atmosphere and impeccable service. Our favorite dish was the scallop starter. Everything was there from the perfect cooking of the scallop to the delicious sauce to the marinated onions. However, $48 for this dish (2 scallops) was very, too expensive. The risotto was good, a great discovery of this renowned dish. Nice addition with the melting foie gras. For main courses, the halibut was delicious, beautifully cooked and browned to perfection. Mention for asparagus and small croquettes. More sauce, please! The land and sea, very good. Nice portion of meat, however the sea was only a small half lobster tail. The bisque and potatoes, wow. We loved the two desserts chosen, the éclair and the praline tartlet . Nice selection of wines by the glass. Overall, great experience! Premium Old Port prices to be expected! The portions are small, but refined! THANKS

Le Club is the bar against which we judge all other restaurants. I would order anything on the menu, because it is impossible to be disappointed.

Travel into town every year for the Grand Prix. This place has been a staple for the last 10 years. Food is always well prepared. Service has been a bit sloppy my last couple visits. Portion size seems to have gone way down. Still good but theres room for improvement.

Im not entirely sure how I feel about this place. The food is incredible. Nothing else to say just straight up great and amongst the beat. The atmosphere....Its like an older version of mtl upscale dining. It lacks some of the more fun and laissé faire of newer places.

Went to several great tables recently and this place didnt disappoint. Some risk, would have loved to see more creativity from such a renowned place (thats why 4 stars and not 3). Portions were on the small side (I took 2 appetizers). Service however was on point, taste was excellent and cooking done perfect. Very picky of me to give 4 stars but Vin Mon Lapin the night prior and Monarque on Thursday were a match, with a little extra. I would come back to club Chasse et Pêche. Very close tin mu book to 5 stars (4.5 cant give 1/2).

For a birthday, we had dinner there for the first time. The people who took care of us were friendly and competent. For my part, I was quite satisfied with my choices. The catch of the day was a skate, but cooked too North American for my taste: spicy mayonnaise, overcooked, fried. The praline dessert was excellent. My raw scallops could have been even tastier. The place is pleasant, the music a little loud (I always prefer when there is none). We had a good time

Great French cuisine, atmosphere, and staff. Expensive though.

One of the best meals of my life. Scallop crudo was incredible and the sauce was one of the most delicous things Ive ever eaten. Partner had Salmon confit. I notmally dont love cooked salmon but this was a major exception. Perfect preperation that left no hint of the fishy flavor I associate with cooked salmon. Foie Gras PB&J was playful and delightful. Great texture. I think its a work in progress but Ive never had anything like it! Venison was absolutely killer and the duck was perfect. Sauces all around were stellar. If I had to nitpick, the dining room felt a bit dated and the wine pours were generally smaller than I would like at this price point. Service was efficient if a bit cool. It would be good to have some emergency frozen gluten free bread on hand - partner has celiac and this is always appreciated and seems to be more and more commonly offered in place of normal bread. But these are tiny nitpicks to an otherwise perfect meal. Overall, there are meals you splurge on and then regret it. No chance of that happening at this place. Food was 6/5.

Really nice experience overall. The place was cozy and welcoming, with a really intimate ambiance. The menu was five or six appetizer plates, and five or six main plates. Seeing other photos of the menu I guess they rotate the plate quite often. All the options were really appealing, and we are really happy with what we ordered. The price is expensive, but for a different restaurant experience it was nice. We really enjoyed it. Vegetarian options: There were no vegetarian options

Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish.

This is a Montreal institution. Tucked away on a small street in Old Montreal, it feels timeless so if you are looking for a classic place, then this is where to dine. The cuisine is among the best French food in the city. And, when you enter, you step back into time to an unrushed era where a meal could extend over hours. Helene and Jean-Francois were exceptional in their care. They not only made the whole dining experience memorable for us but also made the restaurant a place which we look forward to going back to.

The scallop entrée was amazing; however, the dishes that followed were slightly underwhelming in comparison. The venison tartare had a complex taste but good, the beef and lobster as well demonstrated an interesting mix of flavours and the venison main course was lacking some oumf in my opinion.

We had dinner here last night - maybe one of the best meals Ive had anywhere in the world! The service was impeccable, timing of delivery of wine, starters, mains, all perfect. The food itself was to a plate outstanding, we had a wide variety, including the fish, oysters, pork, steak, pasta with truffles; everything was perfectly done. Wine list is extensive as well. Cannot find a single thing to say about our experience other than flawless.

We had not been there in at least a decade and it turned out to be as great as we d remembered it. Good food, great service. Our server was especially attentive, she sensed that we would have liked a quieter area and as soon as a table opens up she offered to move us there without us asking. Great night, recommend highly.

On ce serait cru à la cage au sport et encore ! Des clients hurlants, riants grassement à l adresse des employés, obligés de crier à leur tour pour être compris. Le niveau de bruit dans la salle principale était insupportable. Nous n avions qu une envie finir la ronde des plats, quitter l endroit et ne jamais y revenir. Impossible de savourer quoi que ce soit dans un tel vacarme de gare.

The reception was rather cold from the hostess. I personally have difficulty with snobbery. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Everything is well prepared, the quality of the food is there. Its delicious. However, for a bill of over $600, I expect creativity. Classic dishes without any originality. The restaurant is very beautiful, the atmosphere is ok once you get over the welcome. The service is impeccable. No, Im not going back there anymore, because there are other restaurants in this category to encourage.

If youre in Montreal and looking for a memorable fine dining experience, Le Club Peche et Chasse should be at the top of your list. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed. The vibe was romantic. The oysters were fresh and delicious. And the dishes we had were very well prepared, with an elegant presentation.

We were a group of 12 and packed like sardines at the table. Overpriced for what you get and for not even being seated comfortably.

Magnificent dishes! The risotto is fabulous!

The service was flawless. On the other hand, there is a downside for food. My spouse ordered scallops at the entrance. They were crispy on top, but pink on the inside and the sauce too sweet. The risotto also lacked cooking, the rice grains were crunchy. On the other hand, wagyu is cooked to perfection. Crispy and excellent pork cheeks were accompanied by a lobster claws that lacked cooking and far too much sauce, although excellent it completely masked the taste of lobster. The choice of wine offered by the sommelier was perfect. The desserts are excellent. Generally good, but for the price we expect something extraordinary, which was not the case. Too bad because the competition is fierce and we can only. Will give it another try

The welcome was really warm from the manager, then taken care of by the head waiter Emy who was very professional with great service, her suggestions were just great. The cuisine is very refined and very sought after with beautiful products. Take several dishes because the portions are still small. Restaurant with very good service!

We were blown away by our dinner at Chasse et Peche last night. We d only been back once since the pandemic but had been going often for about a decade after it opened in 2007. It became too familiar for us probably because we would always order more or less the same thing with variations. Their butter-poached lobster dishes remained my reference for how lobster should be cooked, not simply a boiled lobster tossed onto spaghetti as offered by another of our famous eateries. Returning now we were reminded how nice a space it is for an intimate dinner it does feel a bit like an old club. The wine list is still good, and while we were celebrating with an excellent Knoll gruner there were many decent offerings below $100. The menu is always relatively short but varies all of the time while staying within its style which I think of as high end comfort food, immaculate ingredients prepared with impeccable technique. My wife s hamachi appetizer included fish any sushi bar would have been proud to serve. The lobster salad (mostly lobster) was delicious as was my main course of cod with crispy skin. The fish was cooked perfectly. Deserts were terrific. Our waitress was charming and easily bilingual as we moved back and forth between languages (my wife is French but my accent gives me away). It was a completely satisfying meal that made us wonder why we hadn t been back in so long. The place has been remarkably consistent since it opened, more so than any other in memory, but it somehow faded into the backround: they weren t even completely full early last Friday evening. They deserve to get more attention again.

Another amazing evening at the Club. Gabriel proposed a stellar Burgundy Pinot that paired nicely with our selections (lobster, tuna, halibut, pork jowl). From the oyster appetizers, right through to our deserts - Quebec sourced cheese plate - that was served with an absolute knock-out Jura Vin Jaune recommended by sommelier Joris. We were simply delighted by the exceptional quality, remarkable presentation and attentive service of the entire team at Chasse et Peche. After more than 30-ish visits, I can only attest to what a great dining establishment we have the luck of enjoying in Montreal. Kudos to your team... already looking forward to my next visit!! Another extraordinary evening at the Club. Gabriel offered us an excellent Pinot which went perfectly with our choices (lobster, tuna, halibut, pork cheek). Service: impeccable; Amy is a gem. -5/5. Menu: Just like the decor, this one doesnt make much sense. Classic recipes with attempted modern touches. Sometimes it works, sometimes we miss it. Nothing bad, nothing earth-shattering either. Mignonette for the oysters to be improved, lemon paste for the scallops to be rethought, particularly for the ratio, presentation for the hunting and fishing to be rethought, just like the dessert having received too much creativity in terms of green/white/orange/pink colors /red/beige and decoration - 3.7/5 Decor and atmosphere: I dont know who designed the restaurant and in what year, but apart from the music in the toilets, nothing has a hunting and fishing theme, the few trinkets/lights of deer/animals do not. not the weight compared to other modern frames, as well as tables and chairs that have lived well, without however being what one would find in a hunting and fishing club (see photos). Clientele on a Friday evening: +/-65 years old. Maybe this all works for them. Not for a younger clientele who, for my part, travel across the globe to try restaurants with Michelin stars and on the best50 list. - 2.5/5 The price: $167 before tips. Not shocking for my part knowing the work to be done behind each dish and the current inflation. Overall: 3.7/5

The food is all The amount of food is small. The tables are narrow. The prices are a bit expensive to match the taste of the food. The wine is a bit expensive. Its a place to go for special occasions.

The images dont even come close to reflecting the gastronomic orgasm we experienced with each dish and the service was incredible and at a completely reasonable price for the quality of the experience.

5 STAR in capital letters. One of the best meals in a very long time. Each dish tasted and was plated to perfection. Ordered a fish dish and the wagu beef dish along with oysters and champagne. The staff very nicely explained the menu and answered all the questions we had. Highly recommended!

I chose Duck Magret for main course which was great, the duck meat was cooked to perfection. Raw oysters were better than the grilled one, octopus was really delicious. Staffs was ok not really friendly and professional. Still highly recommended when you re in the Old Montreal area.

First thing this place is first rate in every way. One of the best meals ever in one of coolest places ever. Left msg for reservation for same evening-thought no way. But lovely host called back and said they had 2 seats at the bar-which the bartender and waitstaff made better than a table-and area sat only 4 so was very cozy. Food was world class-I had surf n turf-a braised pork shank and scallops. Exquisite. My wife had an equally delicious grilled halibut. Everything cooked perfectly. My pork was so tender I could cut it with my fork! Charismatic oysters loaded with charisma! Portions on the small side but I did not leave hungry. Also quite pricey-but worth every penny!

Outstanding all around! Visiting from New York ton celebrate a wedding anniversary. Couldn t dream of a better place for a special night. Good and service were amazing.

Couples dinner experience. Located in the old port, it is a restaurant with an atmosphere that is both intimate and friendly. Original decor with touches of hunting & fishing which goes well with the dishes offered which combine a concept of a local table brought to perfect chic. Generous and delicious portions.

This restaurant is phenomenal. There were 5 of us for my mothers 80th birthday, and everyone loved the mix of meats and fish. Im a pescatarian and had amazing courses. The PEI oysters were fresh, perfectly prepared, and I loved the chamomile jelly. My main was salmon, and it was excellent. The tiramisu was unbelievable as well. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the service was impeccable

Our waitress was really good. Shes accommodating and always has a great smile. Shes very well trained. Her assistant/busboy where discrete and always refilled our water and wine without asking. Our table took the degustation menu. It was ok. Since I was here not for the food and mainly for meeting up with old friends, it didnt bother me so much. I would come here for service. For the food, it was ok at best. Since its right after the pandemic, I would give it a second chance later on. I believe it might simply be an off day for the kitchen. Parking: They should have valet parking. There was no parking for guess. Considering its a slightly higher end restaurant,, I dont want to turn around looking for parking for 30 minutes. Price for parking is not an issue when we dine for 450$/person here.

Awesome evening, with awesome people, awesome food and awesome service

Overrated. The club presents itself as a refined place, however the food is quite good without being exceptional. A disappointing wagyu. Montreal offers dozens of superior offers in this restaurant range. Portions too small, products are limited (lack of wine, port...) few options. The service is cold and you dont feel welcomed or privileged as a customer.

For our last evening in Montreal, we chose the impeccable Club Chasse et Pêche. We were delighted from start to finish. Food, wine & cocktail, ambiance and professionalism of the service are top notch. We recommend the combinations of oysters and the surf & turf. We cant wait to go back, well done to the whole team and thank you!

Visit on Saturday October 8, 2022. Cold and indifferent welcome from the hostess. Overcooked octopus starter. Fish (halibut) overcooked, poor execution. Thank goodness the maître d saved the day by having our dishes replaced. Excellent dessert. Very good recommendation for the wine. A restaurant of this caliber should have better execution in the kitchen and better hospitality. 3/5 given the reputation and standards expected in a high-end restaurant.

What an experience. This feels like you re waking into a fine dining experience from the past. The interior is kind of like a fancy cave - very cozy and dimly lit. The staff is fantastic and the food is delicious. The foie Gras and lamb were definitely the highlight.

Very happy for a reservation on Friday evening, the waitress was very patient on the wine, becuz it only me drinking by glass then. Had boar and deer in the past, but this time, it s lamb and duck meat. The sea urchins are very tiny tasters, with only one clover from each bowl. Where did the rest go? Should be five, come on. Feels like a amakase portion, but it s a appetizer. The tiramisu infused with espresso is a good idea, but the espresso remains on the top, rather than soaked with the cake below. My first spoon was very essence hahaha. Overall it s a good experience.

One of the best restaurants in Montreal. We ordered their octopus , salmon, fois gras risotto and desserts! Every dish was created with delicacy! Great restaurant to celebrate occasions or night outs.

Before tackling the dishes, I mention from the outset that we are seduced by the location of the restaurant and the comfort of the seats. We already perceive that we are in a distinguished place. Our server is attentive and cheerful; he even has a good sense of wit and agrees to joke with us. His warmth contrasts with the other servers who seem rather detached and formal. Establishment policy? The starters and main courses dont reinvent the genre, but everything is good. The pan-fried foie gras melts in the mouth and the risotto is a love song for our taste buds. The oysters coming in three different styles are unanimous. The cooking style and presentation are quite conventional. Between the wagu beef, the rack of lamb and the duck, its difficult to choose our favorite, but I can say that they are very good choices. As for the desserts, I loved them: the strawberry and the square with maple syrup were delicious. Parking: Indoor parking available nearby, on Rue du Champ de Mars

I cant recommend this venue highly enough. Everything was perfect from.the moment you arrive until the door closes behind you. First class service and food. Its not cheap ($500 for 2 , 3 courses with cocktails and wines) but it was worth every cent and wed return in a heartbeat.

Great food. Amazing quality of ingredients. All the plates we had were delicious. First time here. But comparing to other restaurants of this type in Montreal I prefer others for the service and atmosphere. Still very happy to have tried it.

The best fine dining experience in years! I cant wait to share this place with my favourite foodies. Located in Old Montreal, the setting is perfect for an intimate dining experience. Cozy atmosphere, upscale service. We had the 6 course tasting menu with the wine pairing. Oyster starter was a great pair of rich and refreshing. It was hard not to order more of the scallops. Arctic char was generous and my favourite of the evening. Pork foie Gras risotto is unique and a must-try. Beef tenderloin perfectly cooked. Chocolate dessert was decadent, and chased with the final wine pairing of a maple martini.
