I’ve been craving Chinese spicy stir-fry pot, and I’m so glad I gave this place a shot! Tasty food at such an affordable price—amazing!
Incomprehensible signage, great noodles. This place, tucked away in the faubourg building, is one of the best kept secrets of the city. The place is covered in menus and signage in Chinese, French and English, telling you the various items on offer, (soups, noodles, stir fry, didn’t see hot pot/fondue chinoise on there but hey) and the various instructions on how to navigate the ordering process. Order here, don’t step here, after mandarin, try French, bring back your bowl and get your $2 deposit back, and also some political messages? One sign says, in French English and Chinese, something to the effect of “nuclear waste dumped into the ocean is a crime against humanity.” Yeah, it does sound bad, but I’m not conversant enough in Chinese politics to understand what this means. Some of the more political signs are in Mandarin and are… perhaps more direct in their intent. In any case, this 2 person operation is serving up the best Dan Dan noodles I’ve had, so an esoteric ordering process and propaganda don’t mean much. 10/10.
Pork dumpling soup was beyond yummy. The portions are sooooo big!!! Haha, I brought the rest home. Definitely will be back.
I had a disappointing experience with their Mapo Tofu. The rice was lukewarm and tasted stale, and the tofu was barely warm. When I complained, they simply microwaved the food, which didn't improve it. To make matters worse, the owner seemed disinterested, offering excuses before disappearing into the kitchen. Overall, a disappointing Mapo Tofu that I couldn't even finish.

This place is bomb. #9 pork bone and ask for the red soup. The broth , the noodle , the meats are delicious. I suggest you ask for help from other customers if you’re not sure how it works. Don’t be surprise if they ask for a deposit for eating in their metallic bowl. They refund that deposit once you bring back their bowl. And there is a little fee for a take out. 75 cent. Either way, I strongly recommend this place. It’s a MUST
Always unique and tasty . As a Chinese man this place is legit and I will always go there when I crave noodles !
This is a hidden gem! We ordered the sharing-sized pickled veg lamb noodle soup ($22) and it was so worth the price — HUGE, portion that could feed 3. While the shop signage is confusing and could be improved, the man cooks with his heart and his food tastes so good and authentic! There are no employees, only him cooking. The seating area is a bit separated, and is modern and clean

I tried the noodles for the first time on Thursday night. The portion size was really amazing. It was not in a bowl but in a pot and the taste was delicious. I tried the special price noodles. My friend ordered the mutton noodles. The price was very reasonable and not expensive. The quantity was almost the same. I cant finish it, it tastes delicious, I recommend it!

I ordered the lamb trips noodle dish. Maybe my fault, didnt realize lamb tripe will be so nasty compared to beef tripes. The soup, noodles, cabbages were all infused with the old taste of lamb stomach. Between the 4 of us that shared this one dish, we had to throw away most of it. $20 for the one dish
Not delicious, not recommended. The owner has no requirements for himself and a lot of requirements for customers. The taste is average and there is hair.
The worst restaurant I have ever eaten at in North America. The door is covered with Chinese little pink comments. The prices are high and there are many rules. From the beginning, the boss yelled at his employees in front of us. It hindered the normal ordering process, and his staff could only communicate with us in a low voice while completing the order. When we were picking up our food, the boss started scolding us because we were a little late. You heard me right, I pointed at the customer directly, scolded the customer, and was very loud. I have never met a boss who scolded and educated customers. The food is getting worse and worse, the portions are getting smaller and smaller, the prices are getting higher and higher, and the bosss attitude is getting worse and worse. I hope everyone will consider their mood for the day before eating.
I have wanted to go back to Montreal countless times just to have a bowl of noodles from this restaurant.

I go to Concordia and this is Hands down one of the BEST places to eat during lunchtime. Amazing food and REALLY good quality for a very very reasonable price. Owners were friendly. I would 100% reccomend this to anybody in the downtown area looking for a great lunch place to eat at.

It s a family owned business and the pork vermicelli really knocked my socks off with all the flavours (and this is coming from a Chinese person). The portions are big and the staff is super nice! If you don t eat here before you die you are truly missing out

The food is good, but the restaurant isnt really operating nearly close to the time they suggested. They suggested they would operate from 12 pm to 6 pm, but they are generally closed after 3 pm. That means they are only operating ~50% of the time that they suggest they would. I dont really understand why they had to confuse others on their operation time but just post it here for others reference.
Normal people cant finish the meal, so they can make smaller portions at a lower price. The boss really doesnt know how to do business.

Wow used to love this place in high school, but I went in today but the owner, Mean guy cooking the noodles was yelling at this couple that went up to the counter and said that they had a bug in their noodles. The owner told them that it s their fault and told them to go eat somewhere else. I went up after them and when I handed them the order sheet back for my noodles, the lady gave me the paper back and said I needed to order enough ingredients that add up to $18 minimum. Before I could even take the sheet back the man in the back yelled YOU CAN GO EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE TOO So I took the sheet and threw it in the trash. Listen guys, when you go somewhere and the vibe is bad we can just happily exit the vibe wasn t amazing or anything this couple is so angry and full of hate. The noodles slap but the noodles are dirty and the service is horrible pick your poison
The staff call me Bxxch . The chef was using Chinese BAD WORDS yelled at me when I haven t even ask about my order. First, The owner and chef warned me that my order is gonna take long when I decided to take chicken rice. I totally understand that in some restaurants, some foods are going to take more time to prepare than the others. But than the chef was already yelling at the owner to ensure I know the processing time. I was waiting around 20 mins. Than, I only went to ask for my order when I saw the other customer having the same meal while they came after me. So when I got to the counter the chef was already mad. He literally said the Bxxch is here. It is definitely my most disappointed eating out experience. Wish they have chicken rice order every single day.

Dandan noodles are really delicious! For those with small stomachs, it s perfect for two! (Every time I go to eat, I force myself to finish it because it s so delicious and I hate wasting it, but I m really starving myself to death.) The boss is quite nice, and it s understandable that he s impatient sometimes. What I m saying is that the boss rushes to get the food after he s served. Its not that big of a deal

God tier Dan Dan noodles. Like legit amazing. However the environment is hostile looking. Its 2022 and theyre still fearful of COVID, with a depressing system of ordering thats more akin to a bank than a mom & pop shop. Very little humanity. Honestly, its super sad that people choose to remain this fearful and subservient to their government overlords. At least the food makes up for it.

The food is delicious! However, on your site the opening hours are not correct, we arrived at 3:30 p.m. and it was closed. We drove 40 minutes to eat at your restaurant... The hours should be readjusted... Cant wait to go back!!!
