3 Pl. Ville-Marie, Montréal, QC H3B 4W8, Canada
Outpost of a small chain of neighbourhood brasseries serving comfort food & cocktails.
The Shepards Pie was incredible. The views of the Christmas decor was next level. The staff was obliging. We had a great bottle of wine.
Appetizers were so good we thought we'd order a main against previous advice. The steak was cold, raw and unable to cut. Our server was great about everything and had us another one cooked. It came out medium well as we expected that medium rare was no longer in our future. The add on "jus" was just a gravy. We were charged for the steak fries which is fine because we ate it, but only because we were hungry and not because it was good. Unsure if I would go back, maybe to try another location as we were advised to go for the view of which the downtown location did not really have one. Food comes out extremely fast, which could be great if it was cooked. the room had a nice ambiance to it. It is a big space close to the Bell Centre.
Great location, elegant and cool at the same time . I ordered the crab cake Benedict and my nephew ordered the stake and fries. On the menu said there was supposed to be some fruit con my plate, but it wasn’t. I would’ve love to have an English muffin under the crab cake, to add some texture and to absorb the sauce and the egg yolks. My nephews plate was mainly fries, and not the best kind. He wanted the meat medium rare, but he fount many filaments of nerves on it, and it was difficult to cut. The service was great, super friendly, that sometime make it harder to complain on the spot. The tiramisu was great ! I would love to come back and try another thing.
Nice discover in Montreal and out of the tourists' beaten path. Les enfants terribles has indoor and outdoor seating with a nice view to the water. Of course, seating outside is in sync with the seasons. My friends and I went for brunch on a weekend of May; we booked in advance. It has a quiet ambience for adults which I appreciate; we enjoyed our brunch in the patio on a sunny day. I want to come back.
I had an absolute blast eating here ! Food was quickly delivered and very tasty, the variety of choices is great. The oysters were fresh and beautifully presented on the table. We were more than full at the end, portions are very sufficient
This place is fantastic in many ways. The location is in the city's heart, with many spectacular Montréal landmarks. The food is fantastic. We had several entrees: some brie cheese, bread with caramelized apples, onion rings, and calamari. The restaurant has a wide variety of cocktails, and drinks. They were delicious, but I felt they were not as alcoholic enough for me. It might be a personal preference My main dish was the duck poutine. I did find it rich and heavy but to die for with every bite. It's not something people should pass on. The other dish I wanted to choose was the braised beef, which a coworker chose and was also delicious. The last coworker had the burger, which didn't seem extraordinary for the price. The Flavoring sounds good but looks very basic. We finished the dinner with a coffee with Bailey's and pudding chomeur, which is a very Quebecois dish but won't disappoint you. My only big complaint is that the chairs seem very cheap and aren't as comfortable as I thought they'd be. But it's not enough to stop me from referring friends to try this place out. I can't wait to go back.
The food was okay, not great. The appetizer and Cesar salad were good. I had the chicken which was slightly on the dry side. My husband had the duck poutine which he said was just okay. The dessert we had was horrible...way too sweet, so much so we couldn't even finish it between the two of us. The service was extremely slow and not attentive.
Very nice dinner experience, the entres were visually stunning and delicious. Drinks were well made, although the mojito was a bit on the sweeter side. The braised beef was a tad bit dry but overall still enjoyable. Last but certainly not the least, was the service. Staff was very attentive and friendly. I really appreciate the small cake they brought us for the birthday event, it made the night that much more memorable! Top notch service.
Excellent restaurant, great food with generous portions in a beautiful setting.
The food is really low class. The fries were dry, overcooked and you could taste the old oil. The service was simply the food and drinks. I had the steak and fries and my friend got fish and chips, both were terrible, we could taste residual food from what was cooked in the pan beforehand
10/10
Lovely atmosphere and staff. Took the sea bass with romesco sauce and almonds. It was very flavorful and had the nuts added some nice crunch. Highly recommend this dish. Very well prepared. Cheese artichoke was super yummy for entree as well
I asked for small lamps for the table and the waiter told me that there were no more, even though there were free tables with lamps. Some people who arrived after us were served before and he gave a lesson in politeness to the 10 year old girl who was with us, I understand why, but hey its not great. The food was good, the steak and fries left something to be desired, too thin and cooled super quickly, the dessert was super good (the crème brûlée), but the chips n dip as a starter were not great, the chips were soft and not very crispy and in small pieces. We loved the view when the restaurant was at the top of the skyscraper, now its an ordinary restaurant
Vegetarian options: Cauliflower steak with vegetables Great salads Parking: It might be easier to simply carpool or get a taxi. Because the restaurant is located at the base of the tower. Wheelchair accessibility: Its wheelchair accessible, even one or two of the restrooms are.
Burnt steak and tiny fries soggy burnt and soft no accompaniments even the pepper sauce you have to pay more to get it and it wasnt even good plus the restaurant has moved places its not like in the photos, Im extremely above I wont go back there again thats for sure
Very nice and cozy atmosphere. Good menu and cocktails
Very good restaurant. A small criticism, the waiters have the bad habit of not looking at the customers. To improve.
A memorable dinner for 30 people! I recently organized a happy hour followed by a dinner for 30 guests in this restaurant, and everything went impeccably. From the first stages of booking the team were incredibly professional and attentive to my needs. On the evening of the event, the service was remarkable: warm and well-coordinated, despite the large number of guests. The dishes were delicious with options that pleased everyone from meat lovers to vegetarians (including vegan options for one guest). The atmosphere was ideal: a beautifully appointed room and a friendly atmosphere which helped to make this evening an unforgettable moment. A big thank you to the entire team for their professionalism and welcome. I highly recommend this restaurant for any event or simply for a good meal with friends or family. We will come back without hesitation! Vegetarian options: Vegan options for a guest
great Vegetarian options: great Food : 5/5 |
The food is good but the places near the door to go out on the terrace are cold, which takes away some of the pleasure since the bill is still quite high.
What a great experience, everything was delicious, a beautiful place, nice staff
Great atmosphere. One of my favorite places in downtown Montreal. Sea bass was really good, and the pudding au chomeur was delicious.
Nice dining experience in downtown Montreal. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent. Had the shrimp plate and the blood pudding sausage. Wine prices are reasonable.
The atmosphere is good and the service too! On the other hand, the food is expensive and we did not like the dishes (very salty dishes, with no taste other than salt and fat)
A beautiful restaurant, beautiful atmosphere, and good, fast table service. The only downside was that I was very ill for 2 days following the consumption of one of their dishes, fish (sea bass... which appeared to me not very well cooked, but am I a cook? to judge?) from the hour that followed.. I warned by email the day after my problematic in order to know if other people were affected. To date, I have never heard back from them, which I find a shame. So I dont recommend this place, I could have put up with a moderately good dish, but also been sick... hoping that other people didnt get poisoned.
The size of the steak didnt seem suitable for an adult, it was more of a small piece of meat than a real steak.
Our waitress was really nice but other than that, the food was below average and the wait time for the food to arrive is horrible. Ceaser salad way too salty, did not finish 1/4 of it.
Food was not good. We were 8 at the table and most of us felt like the price was not worthy for the quality of the plates. At least the service was ok
The new street level location is very convenient, but we lose the magic of the view of downtown and the river. The place was too noisy for my liking, but thats a sign of its popularity at lunchtime and the high ceilings certainly amplify the noise. I will definitely return there outside of peak hours for more peace and quiet. Very professional and courteous service. The dish I chose was lacking in seasoning, but thats easy to fix. Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options on the menu, the server is also very comfortable with the menu and the ingredients to answer more specific questions.
The service was not good at all. We were a group of 9 and there were a few other groups. Which they were not prepared for. This happens. The waitress didn t acknowledge the long delays, did not look us in the eyes, did not ask if we wanted desert even after we asked for the menu and just picked them up at some point. We asked for the receipt and it took about 45 minutes to get them. Horrible service but the food was good. We had to get her ourselves when we wanted to order from the menus.
Duck poutine, a treat!
This was one of my favourite spots to eat at with my husband. We love it so much, we had our wedding dinner here when it was still at the top of Place Ville Marie with the city views. A little bummed they moved to ground level but the food makes up for it.
Very good dinner in a nice place with perfect service and a quality cousine
Parking: Exemplaire Food
The service was good and this location has nice decor but it s probably not the best place for fish and chips. The fish tasted greasy and something was bitter about it. I wouldn t recommend that particular plate.
Be careful if you expect a high view of the city center, there are several Les Enfants Terribles restaurant locations. The waitress offered a very professional service, the food was good, diverse menu
$80.04 for a meal, horrible food. We had a beef barley soup, a beef bourgeon, and a dessert. The beef bourgeon tastes like army ration package (literally, I have served in the Army), the desserts are straight out of the grocery store, I have bought those from the store. Does not worth the price.
Fantastic venue. Great staff and terrific food Business dinner was a hit. Food : 5/5
Food is too die for!
We went with a corporate group. The menu the company had decided was modified last minute and was not worth the price agreed. There was a big difference between the meat I had and the size of my partner. The bread was served to 2 people only. The fried calamari were not good they were chewy. The dessert was a piece of marshmallow and jelly. All in all a big disappointment that they changed the menu last minute.
As a starter, we had the squid and unfortunately, it was not crispy and above all very fatty (lots of oil at the bottom of the plate). We notify the waiter.... He tells us, Ill look in the kitchen and get back to you, but radio silence, hasnt come back!!! My main course, fish and chips, phew, uncooked fish, fried, super salty, my plate remained full, impossible to swallow a butcher! Our server, I feel like giving his first name, but Im going to refrain, came back to get my plate and he said absolutely nothing!!!. However, it was obviously that I didnt like!!!! Still insulting, never experienced such rotten service! There you go, never again this restaurant. If you feel like going there.... Think twice, there are so many other places that offer impeccable service and good food in Montreal.
Highly recommend.
Excellent cuisine and impeccable service
I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant. We waited for over 30 minutes without anyone coming to welcome us or take our order. When I finally approached the staff, they casually said they d come to our table in about 10 minutes but continued to prioritize other customers who arrived after us. Frustrated, we decided to leave, and when I mentioned the situation to the waitress, she didn t respond or show any concern. The staff were rude, unprofessional, and completely lacked basic customer service skills. This was the worst dining experience I ve ever had, and I wouldn t recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Everything was excellent. The beef scoter was perfect, the onion soup as well. The boneless chicken wings were succulent. The super nice server. A nice evening thank you
A midday far below the reputation of this establishment.
Cheap food Incompetent service Ignorant cooking If you want to pay too much for frozen, this is the place. If you have allergies, they dont know their ingredients, dont go there.
Terrible experience. Dont go there if you have allergies. The kitchen team and servers do not know the contents of their plate. I have serious food allergies, not a whim. I was served by telling me that everything had been checked before. Having a doubt about one of the ingredients, it took everything to get the information...and THERE WAS MY MAIN ALLEGEN IN THE DISH. Luckily I didnt eat. Clearly no checks done, no consideration for allergies. I felt that I was disturbing the waitress who subsequently became rude. We go to restaurants very regularly, and the worst experience in a long time. They replaced my dish with something else, an uninteresting Mac n Cheese with large pieces of uncooked fatty bacon with some kind of fake bacon bits that were not good. Gelatinous pasta. Very small portion for the price. In general, very very slow service, it took 30 minutes before placing the order. The plates arrived before the glasses of wine. I had to get up myself to get the salt and pepper shakers from the service counter. Dietary restrictions: Do not go there if you have serious allergies, at the risk of being served your allergens because no verification of the ingredients is made.
So gorgeous! We are very satisfied! Parking: There are parking lots opposite
Excellent on all points! Warm atmosphere, courteous and very efficient service, everything we ate was really delicious!
The beef dish chosen was quite good, however, 2 carrots and 4 small new potatoes (almost raw) as accompaniment was quite disappointing. Portions in general seemed smaller to me on this visit. Impossible to replace potatoes with fries for example. Almost $75 per person with 1 shared starter, 2 main courses and 2 cocktails. The server seemed in a hurry. Takes my order and I have to tell him to come back because I had questions about the menu. Then cleared our plates without asking us if we wanted to bring the leftovers (for those with a smaller appetite). It was for a birthday dinner. The waiter brought the cake while half the table was in the bathroom or out to get some fresh air. In short, good atmosphere at the restaurant since they moved to their new location on the ground floor. Ill probably come back to give it another chance, maybe it was just a bad night.
Food: 1. Meat and potatoes were okay 2. Bread was below average 3. Dessert had freezer burn Service: 1. Hard to get servers attention 2. Most servers were rude 3. Can be trained to do better
The place was beautiful and clean, service not bad but the duck confit poutine was not great compared to the price.
Excellent service and speed for a business lunch. Very nice room, bright and pleasant distribution of tables. Very good, attentive waitresses and waiters. Dietary restrictions: The ingredients are well named to allow informed choices Wheelchair accessibility: On the ground floor and space between the tables to circulate
One of my favorite restaurants in the city, the food is amazing and the service is excellent
Very beautiful place. The service and quality was really good
Very nice place well located with a cozy chic atmosphere. The service is impeccable, as is the quality of the dishes. Only downside: the fairly loud background music which does not allow conversations with several people but it is part of the whole. Pleasant experience.
Very slow service . No justification for the staff...either a lack of kitchen staff or totally inexperienced servers. Too bad, we wanted to come back .
An excellent meal with very good service - perfect for a cold evening Vegetarian options: A good range of dishes Food : 5/5 |
Superb evening! First time since your move and the atmosphere is nice, cozy and super pleasant. We will definitely come back to discover other dishes!
Excellent service, very attentive waiter, the food was excellent. Good value for money. The tables are, however, a little close to each other, which means there is less privacy. But that wont stop us from going back. Dietary restrictions: My wife is celiac and she had a few choices on the menu, better than many restaurants but the menu could offer more. It s always a challenge to find places with lots of choices.
I don t understand the hype here. The fish was undercooked, food was mediocre, and the waiters kept dropping things (food, utensils). The restaurant really put the Terrible in Les Enfants Terribles.
Although the experience was not catastrophic, I expected a little more, the food was okay without more, the service took longer! So once again, without having been terribly disappointed I would not return soon!
Its the second time I go here this year with medium to large business groups and the overall experience (great food and service in a vibrant fun setting, great wine recommendations) is as good as it gets. And they were very accommodating with the reservations as well. Highly recommended. Ill be there again for sure. MERCI!
I went in a group. The food was very good. The service was okay. I liked the bib.
Great location, superb food and presentation with solid service. It do not think anyone can go wrong for work or pleasure.
Service was great and the food even better. Highly recommend if youre visiting Montreal.
Very good meal. I had the flank steak with the chefs juice. Its the best Ive ever eaten. Very good service. The only downside is that the dessert was a little too heavy in my opinion.
Great vibe and lively atmosphere. Food was delicious. I m a big fan of onion rings and I had to have 2 orders. Arancini appy was yummy too. Drinks were spot on.
We had a great dinner. Everything (dinner, apps, drinks) were tasty, and the wait staff was lovely!
Went for drinks and lite dinner with friends after work. Good service. Food was good. Just had appetizers and drinks. Was not too busy but got busier as evening progressed. Was rushed to leave by staff which was annoying, they had not told us we had a time limit. Otherwise a nice place.
Very nice experience! The portions are slightly small, but the quality is there! The music is a little too loud, difficult to hear.
They moved! No more experience at height. Everything remains perfect for the rest!
WORSE RESTAURANT SERVICE EVER! A waitor named Vincent was very disrespectful took my friends property which was SHOCKING. Very disappointed in the overall service
always very good, as usual, I came back with my grandson to eat the brie turnover and the bavette. nothing to say except that we were very satisfied.
The place looks nice but the quality of the food is very poor. The salmon tasted old and I was told that hollandaise sauce is a cold sauce when I sent my Benedict back for coming out cold. Hollandaise is a sauce that is served hot always. The bartender was never at the bar either which made it frustrating as you typically sit at the bar for more attentive service.
When my wife and I go out to eat, we do so with the hope of having a great experience. We want our time and money to be well spent, and by the end of the meal, we want to feel like it was all worth it. Unfortunately, last night at **Les Enfants Terribles**, it was the complete opposite. Although this restaurant is well-known in the city, I must admit that I tend to avoid places located in touristy areas, rooftop buildings, hotels, or business districts, which is exactly where this one is. As for the menu, it didn t particularly catch my attention; it s a fairly conventional one, designed to please without surprising. However, when we found out that they were part of a gastronomic event called **Montreal à Table**, the special menu for the event sounded interesting, so we decided to give it a try Big mistake. Despite the friendliness of our server, who did her best to make the experience better, everything else was far from acceptable. We waited 15 minutes for water, another 15 for our drink order to be taken, and another 15 for our food order to be taken. Our appetizers arrived cold almost frozen and the main courses were a total disappointment. The duck I ordered was by far the worst I ve ever had in my life. Meanwhile, our server kept apologizing, not only to us but also to the tables around us, for the delays in the kitchen. The experience was so unpleasant that we tried to finish it as quickly as possible. **Les Enfants Terribles** is a place I have no intention of returning to, and I certainly wouldn t recommend it to anyone.
When we arrived we were informed that we had to leave at 8:00 p.m. which in itself is not a problem when we arrive at 6:05 p.m., but we only took our choice of menu at 6:45 p.m., the Service was very slow, we had our first service around 7:30 p.m.! on a Montreal table at Table containing 3 services! The waitress came several times to tell us that she was sorry, she was friendly but after a while we had the impression that she was saying to herself that she should pay more attention to the other tables since like the service n was not good to us she had more to gain from ensuring that the other tables were better served. We left at 9:00 p.m. with dessert to go because we didnt want to wait for the bill afterwards. Really disappointed with the service received! As compensation we were entitled to a free glass of wine each but the experience was not there. The food on the other hand was excellent except for the braised beef cheek which was stiff.
Well we went in there thinking that still was located on top of Villa Maria building as we see images in google. They are not in there anymore so they should change the pictures. Menu very limited food very basic and no much taste. The receptionist was very sick coughing and sneezing so we didn t want to touch the menus that she handled us. The chicken burger was basic and no taste at all, my son got the meat burger and also he told me was no taste on it. Poutine for kids was ok. Beet salad was good. No returning for sure.
The waiter couldnt explain what some of the dishes were made of. We had to get up to go see the waiter for other drinks since he no longer came to our table. I asked the waiter for a recommendation for white wine since the drink menu had been taken away from us and without mentioning the price, I received a small glass of wine at $19 a glass. I would have appreciated someone mentioning it to me before bringing it to me. The table was in a corner of the restaurant all stacked on top of each other, we literally had dinner with our table neighbors. All in all, really not impressed by the experience, we had gone several times before the move and really liked the atmosphere and the service, but this will be the last time!
The food was Terribles . sandy unwashed side salad to a microwaved cheese-less cheese burger ..waitresses were nice and setting is good to gather a group, just stick to drinks
Everything was perfect, personal and food
Oh my, it s a noisy restaurant!7 There were 4 of us for lunch. The restaurant was full. The service is really very slow, but friendly. The waiter was not very attentive when giving the order to the kitchen. Two people asked to not have cabbage in both the chicken burger (which is very good) and the side salad. Well, there was some on both plates! Unfortunately the fries were cold. The plate of the day, blood sausage, was excellent. The portions are generous. The pudding chômeur, served with a scoop of ice cream, in a soup bowl, waited too long before being served, the ice cream had melted and mixed with the sauce accompanying the pudding. The price of desserts is exorbitant. We came out with a nice bill!!! First and last time for us.
Good food, friendly and fast service (too fast even) with a nice atmosphere.
Our dishes were very good, with perfect cooking for my cod fish and chips. Very pleasant terrace in the sun and well located in the pedestrian street in summer. The service is quite expeditious, not very user-friendly, with a few omissions or delays.
Very good restaurant, good address. The food is good and the service is good!
Stunning. Terrace and site worthy of major European cities. Montreal at its best.
We traveled an hour and a half for a special occasion to eat with an impressive view according to the website. On the other hand, they moved the restaurant to the first floor without mentioning it anywhere. To eat like that, I would have stayed in my city and eaten at my favorite restaurant.
Very noisy restaurant. The previous setting was much more pleasant with the view of Montreal. Yesterdays service was beyond horrible. Jennifer 27 who took care of our table was disrespectful. No smile and this feeling that she wanted to get rid of the service. This person should review their professional activity. Relationships are not his prerogatives. What a shame for the image of the restaurant.
Address to keep and above all to test
Please note, the restaurant has moved and is now on the ground floor of Place Ville-Marie. The website does not explicitly mention this. We were disappointed as we had booked largely for the view. When we mentioned our disappointment to the hostess, she was rather unpleasant :-(
The atmosphere is pleasant, relaxed with a low standard. On the other hand, the service is far from up to par. It took forever to order and 40 minutes to get the bill despite 2 drinks. We probably would have stayed longer if the service had been better, its a shame Sincerely
Very bad experience. We paid for dessert but we werent given anything and it was really expensive. I advise against it, it s a scam!!
Really disappointing that its no longer on the roof. Our fault for not checking. But a poutine is $31 with 3 pieces of duck. For me it doesnt work. Thank you for the good years.
Perfect welcome. Attentive service. Pleasant atmosphere (large terrace). Efficient menu and good products, guarantees of a successful meal. Eminently recommendable (including cocktails and spirits) Vegetarian options: Appreciated by my partner
The food was horrible for the price you pay!! The service was really good, but I would never eat their again. We ordered a chicken kale salad, that was around 20$, it didn t even have kale just spinach!! The chicken seemed like it was cooked the day before, but the dressing was good. Then we ordered a steak, let me just say, what in the cat meat was this?? We got our steak, it was small for the price that you re paying, we were trying to cut through it, with a steak knife. We spent MINUTES cutting that steak (even switching knives), and it still was not cutting through!! Where did you get this steak from?!! Anyways, we told the waitress and she got us another steak, we could cut through that one, but it was sooo chewy and honestly disgusting We also got a smoked salmon benedict, it was okay, nothing special. Overall, the food was very bad, specially for the price you re paying you d expect quality food, it was not that to say the least.
Very nice, pleasant evening with a lovely atmosphere for our daughters party
We had a very bad experience at this restaurant: i ordered fish, which was dry and my husband had steak with frites; the frites were tasteless and soggy. Also the salad, which we had as an appetizer was tasteless and soggy. The service was very slow and unfriendly. Never again!
We had enjoyed the restaurant on a previous visit but this time there were some issues with service. Martinis we not served dirty as requested or with Olives, one had ice in it. We received main courses and wine, before a second round of cocktails even though they were ordered at the same time. One of our entrees came 10 minutes after the others. Despite misstiming the orders, the servers were friendly, and the food was good so overall a fun night with friends.
Lunch for 2. Fish and chips plus dessert. Very correct
The presentation of the dishes was lousy! The fruity ones were burnt. Parking: GOOD Kid-friendliness: GOOD
Mixed opinion on this meal. It was OK, but way too expensive for what was served. Not bad, but the final price is not justified.
Great place to gather with friends. Decent food.
Blah blah as food! On the other hand, be careful, the tip is on the amount All taxes ;)
As an experience. I will definitely return.
Very disappointed with the brunch. The food was very basic with little flavor. As for the service, it was also very poor: all the dishes arrived before the drinks, they forgot to bring the fruit included with the dishes, etc. In short, given the wide range of brunch options in Montreal, I do not recommend this place at all!
Although the service was impeccable and the meal delicious, I had a big disappointment. My last visits to this restaurant were at the top of Place Ville-Marie. When I booked, I was certain that it was still there since the photos on the website still show photos of the atmosphere of the terrace at the top while we quickly become disillusioned when we realize on our arrival that the restaurant moved to the ground floor! Not the same trip lets say. Although the service and meal were perfect, honestly, we chose this restaurant purely for the panoramic view. Really misleading website. And that s a shame.
Nice modern restaurant. Comfortablely friendly staff. Sea Bass was amazing!
We had mushroom arancini to start followed by steak frites. Great food. Great ambiance. I recommend this place.
Very pleasant place, hectic but friendly atmosphere, very professional and warm service. I recommend.
The service and fish were excellent. A chic bistro atmosphere. Well done Francine.
We went to this restaurant twice in one month! The decor is very good, the food is original and so are the cocktails. Very good service. The music is a little loud in the evening so a little difficult for conversations.
Simply superb! I tried the Salmon with tartar sauce. very unique taste. highly recommended. Great ambience. Food
Simply memorable in everything!! Thank you for the warm welcome and the more than remarkable service from Camille at our table!! Honestly, we had a wonderful birthday celebration! Hats off to the chef, it was delicious!
Very good food and very nice Excellent music
Menu is a little bit too diverse in choice which makes it a little harder to know what you want or what is good. Salmon tartare, fish and chips and burger are all good. The menu doesn t do justice to the decor and the atmosphere of the place which are great.
Very good tartare. I recommend this restaurant
The worst restaurant in Montreal, I find it more of a snack than a restaurant. I had the tartare which tasted nothing, with these old and cold fried potatoes. I will never go back there again. Dont eat the oysters, they are not washed very well. I got very sick after this restaurant
Now at Place Ville-Marie right next to the ring. Modern decor, delicious, fresh and fresh meals. Impeccable service.
I do miss Les Enfants being on the 44th (top) floor of the PVM building. The new location outside on the ground floor, while accessible, is not as energetic or beautiful as the last location. Food options are alright, your typical bar food serving. Nothing interesting. I did enjoy my lobster sandwich, but frankly that was the only thing interesting in the menu. You cant go wrong picking this. It would be nice to see interesting dishes or seasonal items to make the menu more exciting. The saving grace is the desert (I think I ordered the cake?) however. The service would be the worst of the three. I do not think my server was really around much. Instead, I had to flag down a guy (who I believe was the manager) to take my order since my group waited a while. Also, different servers served the drinks and dishes, so the service looked inconsistent.
Lovely place! Unlike many, even on the ground floor, the atmosphere is warm and the view of the ring/circle of the square is very pleasant! The room is well decorated and we were seated quickly. The staff is OK although our server had difficulty answering our questions. The problem is with the dishes! The tartare was really bland and poorly seasoned. The burger also had a disturbing aftertaste too bad we were disappointed! The prices remained high for a brasserie but especially for the quality of the dishes.
Very good restaurant in the city center
Fashionable place, nice evening with friends
Restaurant very well located in downtown Montreal, beautiful modern decor, exceptional service, the team was really available and attentive to our needs, the food is good but nothing more, a little expensive all the same for the dishes offered.
Congratulations
Vegetarian options: Très peu d options végétariennes et rapport qualité prix décevant. Le service et le personnel étaient parfaits. Dommage que le lieu ait changé d emplacement et qu il n y ait plus de vue sur la ville. Food
Portions are very small.... refilling? Vegetarian options: n / A
Very nice brunch, the cocktails were also great. Good service too.
Excellent experience! To repeat!
very nice atmosphere, very reasonable price quality, the only thing I dont understand.... I was there on Thursday August 29 at 8:30 p.m. 2024, he lets customers smoke and vape on the terrace, very unpleasant.... having known that he accepts smoking on the terrace we would have been elsewhere!!
Very nice place, good food, very nice brunch
I ordered a burger and it was raw so I returned it. Then, they gave me another one and it was BURNT. I promise you if I ate that whole burger I was gonna choke.
Worst oysters of my life. They smelled like some rotten swamp. I get it, they come at 1$ but they are tiny and completely disgusting. Arancini carried the night.
1$ oysters we had came straight from the sewer. Tasted like feces, unfortunately, as a big oyster connoisseur. They changed locations from the rooftop to the basement, so keep that in mind. Go to Lucilles next time for oysters. Food : 2/5
Location: Place Ville Marie, Rue Cathcart, 9pm, Tuesday, Aug 27th, 2024. As a classically trained culinary gastronome, I rarely take the time to provide reviews unless the experience is either exceptional or terrible. THIS WAS EXCEPTIONAL!!! 1st time back to Montreal in decades. Had a long day @ an international medical Symposium in The Bonaventure Hotel. The concierge & front desk both recommended the eatery that was close & had decent cuisine. I arrived after 9pm but theyre thankfully still serving. I was alone & as usual, parked myself @ the bar to get up close & personal with the staff & had a view of the open kitchen. JC quickly attended to me, l asked by chance if they served the 1792 Full Proof Bourbon (Double Gold Winner in 2 of the 2024 World Spirit Competitions: in San Francisco & Singapore), which disappointingly, they did not. I ordered a glass of water instead, which l commented was very good....compliments to the Montreal community water system. I wanted FISH & CHIPS, but they were 86 (out) of it by then. JC unhesitingly recommended the EUROPEAN SEA BASS. I reluctantly took his advice. Fresh seafood is rarely properly done in a high volume commercial establishment & l expected an average @ best product. But, l was hungry & I didnt quibble with JC. Refreshingly, it came quickly & l could immediately see that it had been expertly prepared: The skin of the Sea Bass was seared to just the right crispiness. The flesh was perfectly done, neither over or under cooked, an often difficult skill. It had a good flavor & texture. Likely the best piece of Sea Bass lve ever tasted. The green beans were sautéed just right (tender yet still firm....al denté). The accompaning fennel was also done well & flavorful (Would love to have frond strands included). Not to forget, the remoulade was also distinctive, rich in umame texture (anchovy added depth of character) with a slight spicy bite to add to the ying-yang balance of the Sea Bass. I wished l had a slice of french bread to sop it all up. My promise to JC to return the next night unfortunately, went unfulfilled. As was my desire to acquire their distinctive black t-shirts with their restaurant moniker. My final note is to the well run operation. All of the employees, JC, most of all, were exemplary in their cordial, courteous & efficient, knowledgeable attention to patrons & service details. I watched the choreographed teamwork & if their fastidious attention to the work of cleaning their glassware is any indication, they exemplified proud dedication to their duties. Great restaurant to enjoy a dinner with friends! Service was amazing which made for a fun time. I enjoyed the beef which was delicious. Also, chorizo pogos, burrata and calamari were great appetizers to start with!
The food was good not the best I ever had but not mediocre Either the tartar is decent. I would like it a bit more creamy and more flavor Yet the fries were crispy and delicious and the side of vegetable was amazing. The appetizer which was the gazpacho was out of this world I absolutely loved it, but my friend didn t appreciate it as much. I guess it s more of a personal taste. The drinks are super pretty and tasty. And the vibe is overall amazing, the people working there are super nice !10/10 would recommend!
love this place
Service is super slow. Need to plan for 4 hours if you want a quick bite.
The new location, located on the mezzanine of Place Ville-Marie, with a view of the magnificent ring of landscape architect Claude Cormier (CCXA), is interesting because it allows, in the evening, to contemplate the BDC building all lit up, which only highlights its very particular architecture. Interesting menu, well-composed plates, nothing earth-shattering but very good. Excellent service.
The desserts were so-so. The service was not the best either.
I ordered a chicken burger and it was partially raw. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service is excellent. Being a brewery, I expected more beer options.
The restaurant is no longer on the 44th floor, so interest is very limited today :(
Our last lunch before returning to Europe. The seafood was lovely here. Great service.
Service was a little slow, but staff were very busy - like most of the hospitality industry, probably short of staff. The food was very tasty and enjoyable. We ate inside near a table of very loud people, which slightly spoilt the atmosphere, but otherwise very pleasant, with good views and comfortable seating Vegetarian options: Duck confit salad was excellent
Very nice and good French brasserie, the cod fish and chips were good and well accompanied, good portion, good wine and beer list
Excellent attention, exquisite menu and pleasant place to share with family.
Perfect place to have a drink with friends and eat for a pleasant evening
Oops, big disappointment. We used to go there regularly before you moved. Dishes served cold, no interaction from the server (no thanks, no questions about the quality of the cuisine). I understand today why half the restaurant was empty, before we had to reserve otherwise there was no place. We wish you good luck, but you will have to work hard to avoid losing everything. What a shame!!!
Wheelchair accessibility: Elevator access was not clear and took us a while to find it. Food
Great service. Food is So delicious Nice people
Sadly, the name is on the nose, they were overall terrible and would not go again. Oysters came without a spoon for the mignonette, forks, and a third of them werent shucked properly. Very slow service, that nodded at requests and then never followed up to bring anything. Clam fritters were overcooked and they were more black than brown. Rest of the food was just okay.
The resto is now on the RC and not floor 41 that used to be we newer know about it
The location and atmosphere are nice. The dishes look very pretty too. I loved how the cauliflower was cooked. The price is much lower than I thought. Vegetarian options: Multiple vegetarian options. The cauliflower was amazing.
I love the new place at PVM, the atmosphere is superb, the terrace magnificent and good table service. For the meal I ordered, 5 scallops and a few small slices of cauliflower for $45, I was disappointed. I dont have a big appetite but a salad or something on the side would have been appropriate for a meal of this price. I will still be back, but I will be careful with my choice on the menu.
Sympathy, good, excellent service! Were going to come back!
Food was excellent, absolutely no complaints there. But the service was very slow and several orders in our group were messed up. I might come here again for a 1:1 meal but will not return with a large group reservation because it seemed that they were not equipped to handle the volume at lunchtime on a weekday.
Pleasant restaurant, nice terrace especially when the weather is nice. Addition quite high for the dishes offered. Fairly long service!
Sat on the terrasse which was lovely. Our waiter was also very attentive and helpful. Cocktail was delicious and refreshing (Pamplemousse). However the food was very disappointing. I had the chicken burger and it was very over cooked/over fried to the point that it was crunchy through and through. My daughter had a the tuna tartar. The flavour was excellent but it was strangely sitting in a pool of sauce? Overall would recommend as a place to go for a drink and a snack, but would not recommend for a meal.
Food poisoning and undercooked chicken! Me and my friend were visiting Montreal and found this cute restaurant for a nice night out, she got the fish and chips and I got the chicken burger. As I was eating my chicken burger the chicken texture was off and we realized it was pink all over. I legit almost threw up on the patio due to the texture of this burger, it was like chewing on cartilage. The next day my friend started feeling sick and now has food poisoning. This restaurant is gorgeous, the lady gave me a refund on my burger, but I still paid 65$ for us to get sick and I almost threw up eating this sandwich. Whoever is the cook at this restaurant please learn how to safely cook food because this was a huge disappointment and purely disgusting!
Very pleasant restaurant with a magnificent setting
When I went, it was inside of a skyscraper. The food here is delicious, with a wide variety of French and Canadian foods. My favorite was the poutine. The drink selection is also outstanding. Getting in and out was a little tricky, though. You had to take 2 separate elevators to get up and down, and the building that it was in was very confusing, too. Unfortunately, it is no longer in the skyscraper, but i will most definitely come back here just for the food. I very highly recommend this place!
Very nice moment on the terrace of the Enfants Terribles, in the heart of the Montreal business district, to enjoy the last moments of summer. The servers are very friendly, available and attentive, and the food is completely up to par. I recommend!
The server paid very little attention to us and we waited for everything we needed. Food was fine but service made the experience disappointing.
Great service, the food was good without being incredible. Big disappointment in the fact that they moved, the photos on Google show a beautiful rooftop with a view of the ring, the only reason why we came. It would be wise to delete the photos of the old address so that the customer does not feel cheated. Apart from this little misunderstanding I recommend, it was nice for a moment between colleagues or with your partner.
The location is great, atmosphere as well. The food has really low quality for the price. Came late at night and got a fried chicken burguer, the crust was raw, you could taste the flour. The service was super slow in getting our order but then the food came really quickly, too quickly. The drinks were good, maybe the hype is because of the nice ambience and to get a few drinks.
This is the 2nd time Ive been there but I think it will be the last a little disappointed the service was slow and the dish was not great the meat was too dry For a rather hefty bill
Very nice restaurant and good food, a nice menu with several choices and it is easy to get more or less large portions, to change a few ingredients or sauces according to our preferences, it was very good, except that the foccacia bread was not... is not true but it was still good, and the poutine was too flooded with sauce at the bottom, I couldnt finish it but it was still good :) Incredible service! And nice place, nice tables, but be careful its NO LONGER A ROOFTOP!
The service was not the best. They take forever to come take your order but the place is really nice.
Good service
Chicken burger was undercooked. Waitress acknowledged it but didn t do anything about it. Service was so-so
Party of two, seated outdoors! Aside from a few pesky bees, everything turned out better than expected.
