Recommended by my French friend, food was good, a bit too salty, had to drink a lot of water afterwards, while the ambiance was pleasant. Noah was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we need. He definitely enhanced our overall dining experience.
The food but the variety or edgy bold dish is not there. Classic French menu but lacks the ambition it used to have.
Great place! French chefs from Lyon were present as part of the Festival de Lumiere running until mid March I beleive. Everything was spot on. 👌
Nice french restaurant with great quality and delicious food! The place has the vintage decor matching with the building history and the cabaret hall next to it, making you feel like in a different century. Good service overall and we'd love to go back.
Fantastic French food, very pleasant atmosphere, and super pleasant service! The cocktails, dessert, and coffee were also very good. One confusing thing was that a Negroni cocktail was $9, but a long island iced tea was $19. Either way, everything was great!
Old school classic French bistro with all the classic dishes you'd expect. Very friendly staff, and good ambiance, it gets busy if there's a show nearby so I would recommend to reserve a table. We had the fish soup with croutons and rouille, and the fish with green pepper sauce, it was great. The Paris Brest for dessert was delicious. The wine list has plenty of interesting selections at average prices. This place has been around for years for good reasons.
If you're looking for french cuisine in a french setting, you have found it! The menu, the atmosphere and the service are top notch. Some dish could have been better (salmon too dry) but nothing that can't be easily fixed. Special thank to Eve!
Fantastic menu with amazing ingredients and cooking. Service and atmosphere were excellent. Each dish has a wine pairing in the menu from appetizer to dessert, which makes it easy for people not familiar with wine.
Excellent service from Mathis! The meal was really good, it was perfect!
We were in a bit of a rush before our show. A place was made for us. We had 2 starters: Salmon gravlax and hot goat cheese salad as well as 3 Mocktail drinks. Both starters were sublime and so were the drinks. The service was really very friendly and we will return there for a romantic evening.
Evening in the Lionceau lounge - everything was perfect, meals and staff, 5 star service!!
Very nice experience. Excellent food, I recommend the beef steak. Courteous service, relaxed atmosphere. Really perfect for a couples dinner.
A classic! Very well done French-style menu. Ideal if we go to the Lion d or afterwards!
Exquisite!
Le Petit Extra is a real gem for lovers of French cuisine. The dishes are prepared with fresh, seasonal ingredients, which is evident in every bite. The wine list is simply incredible, with a careful selection that goes perfectly with the food. A place where you are sure to enjoy, to recommend without hesitation!
Fantastic.
The beef steak is delicious and the portion is just perfect
Excellent Parisian bistro-style French restaurant! I adore ! One of my favorite addresses in Montreal
The staff is pleasant but the meals are just ok! Disappointed with my experience!
Excellent service and restaurant. We had a great time.
Excellent restaurant both for the service and for the cuisine. A Montreal-style Lyonnais cork!
Delicious exceptional food, amazing service, friendly staff, outstanding
Very pleasant service, delicious French food!
Very good french food
Too expensive for the dishes served. Lemon tart too sour. Excellent service but a lot of delay in the kitchen. We were offered a free digestive as an apology, which was appreciated. Maybe it was just the wrong night.
Subpar service. No one welcomed us invitingly. No explanation of menu. No one asks if food is ok. No attention to customers. Food quality ok. Price ok. Would not return. DEFINITELY not 4.5, not 4. 4.5 is for something at the top of Mtl haute cuisine. This is FAR from it. Maybe the other reviewers haven t actually dined at the top restaurants? Maybe it s a post-pandemic pent-up happiness to dine out? Still, it s crazy to give an avg of 4.5 for this place.
A classic! Timeless and always relevant. The prices of the dishes are still affordable, the service is precise without being too heavy. Excellent cuisine.
Timeless, it s always a pleasure to go there
There are classics that are here to stay
Montreal en Lumieres, excellent Lyonnais menu! until March 10. Very well prepared food, excellent service, old-fashioned brasserie decor. Plate of 2 rosettes, fish soup with pastis and rouille, chicken from Lyon farms, fillet of dore, and... praline tartlet!!!
A classic. Always good, always reasonable prices for this type of restaurant. We have been going there for 30 years.
Always delicious. Great food and wine pairings
Good restaurant, but nothing more. As part of the Montreal en lumière festival, a chef from Lyon (Laurent Bouvier) prepared the menu. The result was a little disappointing for the quality of the dishes and the price. The chèvre chaud was excellent, however, the rosette de lyon appetizer (15 paper-thick slices for $16) was a total steal (about $1-2 max of sausage for a commercial supermarket type sausage). We dont think well be visiting this restaurant in Lyon the next time we go there.
I went there one afternoon as part of a business dinner, the setting is charming, the service attentive and the music will delight fans of French songs from the 60s and 70s. The velouté is comforting, the AAA beef steak, shallot sauce, served with fries and salad is a delight. Well have to go back for dinner.
A warm bistro where you can happily refuel. There you will find classic French cuisine of very generous quality. The decor gives the impression of being in a cabaret from the old days. I definitely recommend this restaurant!
This place is one of the best old-fashion French restaurants in Montreal. It is an institute. The quality is very high for years, and the atmosphere is wonderful.
Great food, good service, nice atmosphere! Cozy and worth the price!
Just really normal or below average French food. I guess for French food, we should go to more established places. Some of their menu aren t French and not so good.
Peking duck breast with matcha tea, polenta was excellent
5-stars for sure! Atmosphere, service and dinners were exceptional. Greeted upon arrival by Zachary, who made our terrific martinis using gin from Quebec-very good! Dinner was well paced, not rushed, and exceptional in presentation and taste. Felt like I was back in Paris. My advice: GO THERE! Thanks Au Petit Extra and Zachary! Cheers- MJB
Beautiful, friendly restaurant. Our waitress Katherine was very friendly and patient despite our many questions. The food was good. We had the salmon steak and the cooking was perfect. I recommend!
Nice restaurant, service is good, the food is nice, fair price!
Excellent value for money.
Impeccable service, tasty dishes
The food was delicious and the service very pleasant! THANKS!
Very disappointing, the kidneys were hard and dry. The very ordinary duck leg dish and the side salad with too much raspberry vinegar.
Cute French restaurant, cozy and beautiful decorations. Good for a romantic couple, or for a small group dinner. We ordered a variety of petites bouchées, they were okay, but for the price was reasonable. As for starters, I recommend the beef tartare, it was great. For the main meal, we ordered the AAA beef steak, rare-cook. Very tender. The highlight was the sauce was made of red wine and the caramelized onions on top of the steak, because without it the steak is a bit tasteless. Another great thing is the creme brûlée, it was not too sweet and well balanced for a dessert. Overall, the place and service were the highlight. For a French restaurant, the meals were not the best, but their price were very reasonable compared to other places. 4/5 Stars
Superb experience. We had a very nice evening.
The meal was delicious, the employees all kind and accommodating. Super nice experience for a big group.
If I could summarize my experience at this bistro, Id say consistently good. We are served by the same staff year on year, staff who have wonderful manners. It is a simple yet elegant service provided by people who understand the concept of hospitality and what it means to run a no-fuss, high quality quartier restaurant. The menu shifted during the pandemic from table dhôte to a la carte but the idea of an amuse bouche in lieu of a starter is good. Nice classics and staple dishes. This is good value for money in town. If I run out of ideas of where to go, this one of my go-to places.
A great Parisienne French bistro . Loved it.
Too bad, I had good memories of this restaurant. Last night, I enjoyed an excellent soup but the shrimp risotto was the worst I have eaten. The shrimp are way too salty, the rice tasteless and dry . It looked like tomato rice in an envelope. To end up with an expensive bill for a meal without flavor and lets say not very expensive to prepare. My friend had the fish, she was also disappointed with her choice. The young staff is very friendly and professional.
Delicious beef tartare, quick service before a show; personalized service, wine pairings
Great experience at Au Petit Extra for a birthday party. The room is large, the atmosphere is very pleasant and the environment was not too noisy. We really liked the hot goat cheese and duck rillettes as a starter! The main dishes were very well presented. I loved my tuna tatami. The beef steak looked delicious. And then the classic crème brûlée was excellent. Thanks for the good service
We had the pleasure of spending a pleasant time with friends in this restaurant. The service is impeccable and attentive. We will come back with Plaisir.
Ive been wanting to try this place for 10 years. Located at the corner of Ontario and Papineau, 10 minutes away. From the moment you enter, you feel enveloped in a friendly and warm atmosphere. It was super cold outside and once the heavy curtain was pulled aside, it was a bar that projected me to Paris. A bistro just the way I like it! To the right, a slightly larger room can accommodate groups. And there is a direct connection with the Lion Dor cabaret next door. The perfect place to start the evening before a show! The cuisine is Traditional French. With a mix of traditional cuisines. The duck confit was delicious and the warm goat cheese salad too.
If it hadnt been for a passive aggressive first waitress when we asked to change places because it was too busy in the corridor near the entrance to the kitchen, everything would have been perfect. Luckily, another super friendly waitress took care of us. The Valentines Day menu was excellent, well done to the chef! The right price and generous portions.
It s one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal I took the trouble to reserve well in advance and confirm many times. Usually I always ask for a side table given the passage and the echo because of the high ceilings.... Upon arrival at the (punctual) restaurant, I was directed to a table in the passage despite my insistence under the pretext that all the tables were reserved . After 10 minutes which seemed endless and so painful, a side table was freed. I kindly asked the mistress of ceremonies if we could take the table, she replied in a dry and ceremonious manner: Usually I dont make an exception but here you are pugnacious and I give you the table .. we moved the table service ourselves . I find that the person serving lacked manners, politeness and courtesy. I am a respectable person and I act in a respectful manner . Fortunately the table service was courteous and the menu is still good. I almost got up and made a scene . especially since the restaurant was never full during the evening and several well-placed tables remained free . I think it would be necessary to make a re-adjustment of straps to the sergeant major who claims to be above the fray!! I rated the restaurant with just one star so that the message gets across .
Excellent and divine food. Honestly the scallops were tasty. On the other hand, service: little better. During the meal my partner had his dish cold and he asked to have it reheated during this time I ate quietly without him having his meal. After 15 minutes we asked the waiter for the dish, he came right back with it. I had finished my dish, too bad! A cruel lack of timing, we were left without a wow. If you have a show after the deadlines are met!
Excellent.. Very well received and served
Very good restaurant with a nice menu and nice room. I highly recommend.
Very nice tasting experience with the special Montreal in Lights menu. The waitress who took care of our table, Eve, was warmly friendly. The entire service was impeccable. A very good time.
Excellent service, very good chef. The value for money is excellent. I recommend!
With this slew of stars, what more can we say...LONG LIVE FRENCH CUISINE....
I liked it
We took part in a private reception. Even if it was 15°C outside, the temperature in our room was hot, like sweaty hot. We needed to have one of our plates with low carbs. The waiter asked us for dietary restrictions only to tell us that they couldnt make substitution or else, but they agreed to put duck sauce on the side. My wife took half duck breasts. It was supposed to be served with grilled veggies. She received literally 3 half Brussels sprouts but an insane amount of black rice witch she couldnt eat. I had an okay mushroom risotto, neither great nor bad. Creme brûlé was good tasting, but everyone but me seemed to have a better sugar crust. As a starter, I had some Rillette de canard , which I usually love, but mine was tasting like spoiled. The next day I had. Overall, quality price was not there at all, and unfortunately, it has been a long time since I had a poor experience like that in a restaurant. I do not recommend it. Dietary restrictions: The waiter asked us for dietary restrictions. We needed to have one of our plates with low carbs. We were told that they couldnt make substitution or else, but they agreed to put duck sauce on the side. Kid-friendliness: It cost us 40$ for a 2 year and a 4 year old. Our only choice was chicken fingers ( almost dryed) with homemade fries and mushrooms sauté ( who thinks its a good idea to serve mushrooms to toddlers! ) no drinks and no deserts were included in the price. Wheelchair accessibility: Place is not wheelchair friendly with lots of steps and stairs.
Beautiful place, very practical since it is attached to the performance hall, the service is offered according to this small container. Beautiful menu, although some dishes are not very generous compared to others.
We had an excellent meal here.
Great service, Great food. Great dinning experience.
Lovely bistro with pleasant waitstaff. Restaurant was very clean and inviting. Food tasted very regional. Loved the experience
Magnificent little restaurant in Ontario. The food is delicious: a special mention for the crème brûlée for dessert, which was incredible. In addition, the service is impeccable. I definitely recommend this place.
Unfortunately, this restaurant was right by some major construction, so at dinner time, traffic was at near standstill. Part of my family went the last few blocks on foot. Parking was on the street. The restaurant was spacious and service was friendly. We are English speakers and they made us feel at home. We appreciated the casual feel of the place, as we are on vacation and not dressed up. First time trying beef tartare, as recommended by other reviews and it was quite good. My son had the beef cheek stew, which was tender and had a nice sauce. This was the best main course of the bunch, IMO. Others in my party had the streak, duck leg confit, and roast chicken. These were just okay. There was already a salad that came with the steak, would have been nice to know when some of us ordered a starter salad. The fries were sad looking. The duck was meh, on a huge bed of salad. Garlic potatoes were good but only a few pieces. Roast chicken was okay, I ve had better roasted eggplants. Only one vegetarian main course option (a risotto) which had nuts, so my son couldn t order it. Crème brûlée was decent for dessert. I had high expectations given some of the other reviews. I just returned from a trip to the French Rivera and south of France a couple months ago, and had a decent amount of homey French food, and this does not compare.
Good but nothing more. The meat requested medium arrived red, I ate anyway but disappointed. The service was courteous but long, considering the few people there, that lunchtime 4 tables taken, including us.
Excellent French restaurant. The food is really good, while remaining reasonably priced. The service is impeccable.
Due to the construction on the road, The driver who was stationed 4 steps away on Papineau right by the light was screamed at when he walked in to consult with the waiter about the clients preference should they want to avoid a 5 minute wait time. The Waiter never consulted with the clients and they therefore complained that they would have preferred to walk over and that it was audacious of the waiter to assume for them. Regardless of the rest, such unprofessional and rude waiters who cant treat other service members with respect is enough to avoid this restaurant as a whole.
Before, I gave them a 5 star for the food but it became a 4... Ive been going to this restaurant for over thirty, I think Covid and inflation have caught up with it. The service has not faltered!
Great service! Great experience, we had a show next door and our server made sure we arrived at the time we wanted. Good food, nice atmosphere!
Good French restaurant !
EDIT: Making a quick edit to reply to the owners: Its quite unfortunate that you decided to lie about this. If it makes you happy to think that this is a fake review, good for you. This being said, the events described in my review happened, whether you admit it or not. We were told by your staff that this was an ongoing issue, that you had mice even in your kitchen, that this issue was caused by construction on Ontario street and that the owners refused to do anything about it. Considering all of this, it is quite bold of you to simply lie about it, rather than address the issue, support your staff and make sure that your customers are well taken care of. PS Feel free to look at my review history to see if I have a habit of making fake negative reviews. Youll see that I have nothing to gain from this. Do the right thing. ------- Original review: My spouse and their friend went to eat there on July 13, 2023, and shortly after beginning to eat, mice appeared in the restaurant. They told us that they couldnt do anything about it because the owners refused to do something about it, even if they had mice in the kitchen as well. It is quite unfortunate for a restaurant thats been around and respected for this long.
The food was okay but the service and wine selection was excellent.
Small meal on the rickshaw at the end of service with my wife. It was a nice surprise guided by the faithful backpacker. Kidney for Madame and salmon for Monsieur! Flawless to the new chef who seems to have arrived yesterday and of course to the team. Good note also for the choice of French wines on the menu
Wonderful attention from Eve and all the site staff. Delicious food and beautiful ambiance.
After two experiences, we are still excited by Eves cuisine and service. The day this restaurant loses the services of this hostess, it will lose its soul. Hurry up to experience THE EXPERIENCE. 08/26/2023.
The service is very good, and the food excellent, but it was way too hot, I was sweating, even in my little shirt, and I just couldnt wait to finish the meal and get out of this oven...
A classic in the bistro genre!
Warmly welcomed, we loved it
Everything was perfect! Very reasonable prices!
My girlfriend cant believe it.
The main plate was too dry...a combination of lamb and bulgur, hard to eat
Cant say enough about this place. If you want France, they give you France.
Atmosphere reminiscent of French brasseries: very pleasant! The service was attentive and warm. I had the salmon, my partner had the duck confit. It was good and I have no complaints about the cooking: top. On the other hand, there is a weakness in support, there is a clear lack of generosity. The salmon is accompanied by 4 very thin strips of pdt, it looks cheap and lacks deliciousness! The confit is placed on too much salad versus the few potatoes on the side Given the excessive price of this kind of place (paying almost $100 for two courses, without a glass of wine and a coffee at lunchtime...a bit too much) its not too much to ask for a little more generosity on this side there. There is therefore, I find, a gap between the real French bistro style brasserie which aims to be generous and equally affordable for business people, families or even artists, because these are classic and traditional dishes and the image that this restaurant wants to convey. Its a shame.
good French brasserie
NOTHING TO SAY, GOOD ADDRESS. Our little culinary stopover during our visits to Montreal.
Excellent food and atmosphere
It was good, but the gizzards that should accompany the duck leg were missing. I strongly advise against sweetbreads
We waited 1 hour to receive our order. The food had no taste, the salmon was cold and had no spices. The dish was empty, which is pretty standard for a French restaurant, but the food was disgusting! It was very expensive for the quality of the dish. The waiter didnt even ask me if I had finished before he took the dish away. I didnt like it at all.
The best beef cheek ever. WOW, BRAVO. Unanimous. Foie gras with date mousse. Ok. Wilted micro salad, nothing new, well move on. To highlight, the excellent service from Noah, dynamic, super friendly. Noah, please spend a few hours getting to know the wine list. Were going back there for sure. The little extra beef cheek is the Benchmark to evaluate all the others....
Excellent service! They have time limits on their menu explaining how much to order if youre seeing a show at the Cabaret Lion dOr. The servers are very attentive, they would come at timely intervals and made sure we had everything we needed. The menu has wine pairings for the food. Our meal was delicious. We had the beef and fish. The best part was the chocolate dessert. The beef Gravlax was also delicious. I really recommend this restaurant whether it is for a pre-show meal, a date or even a large group event. Enjoy their large wine selection! Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs available and seem able to accommodate for children
A faultless
I recommend the sweetbreads. Pure delight. Impeccable service
Super good French restaurant for a romantic meal
Fantastic! As close as possible to a French bistro in Montreal.
Excellent dinner and service. French food very well executed from the starters to the desserts. I had a Paris-Brest amazing! And a duck confit. Will be back for sure!
Impeccable experience all round. Thanks to Zachary for the excellent service. Everything was delicious but the crispy foie gras as an appetizer, wow! We look forward to returning.
Always so refined and tasty. I recommend their port... A delight... Excellent service, courteous and attentive
Delicious lamb shank! This restaurant is a classic in Montreal.
Very beautiful, very good (French cuisine) bistro atmosphere. Portions are perfect a little expensive but really very good
One of my favorite restaurants
Great dinner. Smiling, welcoming staff who are very attentive to customers. The meal was delicious and plentiful. We will return with pleasure.
Pleasant place with excellent staff. Good products. A super good bistronomy restaurant
I organized a party for the little lion cub. I loved the organizer and the staff of the evening. Super generous and good food. A big thank you to the great team.
Delicious and impeccable service.
This restaurant is so good! Between the service and the food its one of the best meals Ive had in a while! Thank you so much!!!
Beautiful place, good food, friendly owners and the Lion d Or is a magnificent room
Warm welcome and excellent cuisine
I recommend it with my eyes closed: the staff are friendly and the food is a real delight. The wines offered with the dishes are a guarantee of success.
I was slightly taken aback by the long wait before being served our food, but Im told this is typically French. It wasnt unpleasant, and allowed us ample time to talk. I think I wouldve enjoyed it more had I been expecting it. The service was great, and the waiters were polite and attentive without hovering. The food selection was elegant, and everyone of our party was impressed, be it with the duck, rabbit, salmon or the mushroom risotto. The portions were perfectly sized, and the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant were charming. A very refreshing experience, highly recommended!
Everything is excellent: the food, the atmosphere, the service! Many congratulations and thank you
I went for my party and I have to say that the duck confit is probably my best meal ever. Be prepared to wait before eating though (45min-1h).
Very good restaurant! The service is impeccable, the food very good, warm atmosphere.
Its really very good! Everything was of high quality and the servers were very courteous and friendly. I recommend Paris-Brest! On the other hand, the bill at the end is expensive...
I went here for dinner with friends and we all had a great time. The food was fresh, flavourful, and good-sized portions. Chill ambience. I especially liked the desserts (creme brulee and paris-brest) - delish!!!
Excellent lunch. Duck was perfect.
Cozy French restaurant In Montreal. Dishes are all tasty but there s not much wine selections. Staff are friendly and helpful, and I loved the atmosphere.
Always well served. Good price and good French gastronomy.
Wow, really delicious, superb service, great wine list. My third visit, still just as good. A little noisy though and it wasnt full.
its a really good restaurant. the setting is very pleasant, refined, staff very attentive to customers and high quality dishes. For an end-of-stay evening, I highly recommend it. We had a great time.
Excellent food, HORRIBLE service. This is our fourth time at this restaurant (and one of uss twentieth time) and the service is still getting worse. This evening, the straw broke the camels back. Our server (Henzel) couldnt have been more stupid and condescending. When I ordered the pork fillet, he asked me the PORK fillet or the BAR fillet? with a mocking and stupid tone when there is not even sea bass fillet on the menu and there is definitely a pork fillet. It was only to attack me on my pronunciation. He knocked the wine glasses with the bottle while pouring the wine, knocked the plates while serving them, he leaned on my shoulder while serving my partners wine, I had to calm down. He half pushed me on the shoulder again while taking the plates, it was completely uncomfortable and intrusive. When asked for kidneys, he looks for the dish on the menu as if there were none or as if it were said in another language. It was very unpleasant and we dreaded its arrival each time. He spoke aggressively and as if he was being disturbed. We were 3 people, took two bills and left a 15% tip on the biggest bill (the $100+ one with all the alcohol on it, and it was already nice to leave ~$20 with the disgusting service that we received). We left $1 on the second bill, and the waiter was quick to ask was there a problem with the service sir? to my partner, WHILE he was still entering the tip amount. What kind of waiter watches the machine while people leave tips (which, remember, is entirely at the discretion of the customer if they received good service. Tipping is in no way obligatory) and COMMENTS to make the customer uncomfortable? It is completely unacceptable for a server to not only stare at the Interac machine while the customer pays, but to CONFRONT the customer about the tip?? It doesnt even have words. Fortunately the dishes were divine because we would have really been angry to pay for a mediocre meal when the atmosphere was already more than mediocre.
Excellent service, the beef steak was very good and all at a reasonable price.
Great little french bistro. Love that they offer half bottle of wine. 4 stars because there was a bit of a wait between entrée and main.
Excellent value for money. Lots of atmosphere despite a high noise level. Everything was delicious.
I really liked this place
Great French food and very dependable. Been here a long time. Important people always seem to be hanging out and talking.
An Montreal institution and classic french bistro. Food and service are impeccable. It is unfortunate that there are no lunch table d hôte which makes for an expensive lunch.
Definitely downhill from its prime many years ago. The food is meh for this price point.
Opened in 1987 at its current location on rue Ontario, Au Petit Extra is a French bistro in the same style as lExpress or Café Cherrier. They have classic French dishes like duck confit ($28), veal kidneys ($24) or starters of boudin ($12) or beef tartare ($14). My partner and I loved our evening, good food, good atmosphere, good wine! Final bill with taxes/tip: $155.39 Visited in February 2022 5/5
It was so delicious. I really enjoyed the food. La crème brûlé . Yummy Yummy I was there for supper... it was crowded. The service well... Regular and god
Pleasant experience in a typical atmosphere worthy of the great French bistros, with well-seasoned classic dishes and attentive service. Special mentions to the salad with La Morin Quebec mustard and veal kidneys.
This place s food was amazing! Zachary gave us great recommendations everything. The warm goat cheese exceded my expectations. I will definitely tell our friends to visit this restaurant.
Great meal, great evening. Tshinaskumitin!
Beautiful atmosphere of the kitchen and extremely friendly service
Excellent
Nice and unpretentious restaurant, with impeccable service. No wonder they have been in business for so many years.
Very nice place
The arrival is out of the ordinary, nice welcome from the employees. The servers are pleasant and know the menu well. The food is excellent, both in terms of taste and cooking. Peaceful atmosphere and can have discussions easily.
Delicious! Excellent service!
I like this place for : 1. its atmosphere of a quiet Parisian brasserie - warm lighting and great schoolhouse ceiling lamps, 2. its well done comfort French classical food, including the deserts, 3. its service very accurate and kind, 4. the interesting wine list and the suggestions by the glass on the menu. I will return there any time before a show at the Usine C theater nearby
We really enjoyed our dinner at Petit Extra. You dont have to be in a hurry and they of course warn about this, but the food is worth it. Special mention to the wine pairing recommendations, it helps and allows you to discover beautiful things. Impeccable service and special mention for dessert, the strawberry and basil soy cake is as beautiful as it is delicious We recommend!!
An institution... if you want to eat well for your $, this is where you have to go
wonderful cozy restaurant
Impeccable across the board: welcome, service, atmosphere and above all, successful French cuisine, well presented. Table well set since Covid, several restaurants have forgotten this detail. Refined bistro cuisine. Excellent suggestions for wine. A faultless service by Eve. Still as good as when they started. Well done to the team
Superb restaurant with inspired cuisine and highly qualified staff
Very good restaurant!
I went here with a friend who had been many years ago, and said it was one of his favorite restaurants in Montreal. I can see why. Very cozy and quaint, with spectacular service and some of the best food I ve experienced in Montreal. They do not have an extensive cocktail list, but their food and wine options are diverse and amazing. The proprietor, who I think served us that evening, was lovely and kind and patient, despite the fact that our French isn t very good. I will definitely be recommending this place to friends visiting the city.
Classic menu, but inspired. Excellent choice of wines by the glass to match the food.
The dinner was very good, we enjoyed ourselves, impeccable service and perfect proportions! Address to remember and recommended!
A great specimen of a classic French Bistro. Fair pricing and great service.
Excellent service, very tasty food
Love the food and the ambiance
I think rare cooking is not for me. But the service is excellent and the staff are very courteous and professional. Very small restaurant. Do not go in a group of more than 4 people otherwise you have to book well in advance I presume because there is only one large table
Id like to find enough words to describe but cant... I had the foie gras, oysters then the beef ( rare) and finally the paris brest The foie gras is locally made and was the best I ate in montreal The beef was cooked perfectly and tasted like my home.country. The paris brest was the best Ive eaten since Im in Québec... the cream was delicious I tested a lot of restaurants and a lot of beef pieces . This restaurant combines quantity quality perfectly Thank you
Impeccable service and food. Nice place and not too noisy. Ève, our waitress, was completely charming and efficient. You will see us again.
Perfect!!!
Good restaurant, courteous service, affordable price and above all the dishes were very good.
Flawless! Attentive service and tasty menu.
Maybe the best restaurant service in the city. Great wine list with good choices at a range of price points. Every meal Ive had here has been top-notch.
