Georgia Restaurant in Montreal

Our first time trying Russian food, it was delicious!

Called and made a reservation ahead of time for 11 people. They call back about an hour later and cancel our reservation because they have a bigger group of people that they want to accommodate. Very unacceptable!!!

Amazing atmosphere!! Exceptional and very warm service!! The food is excellent, especially the lamb. For the quality, the price is really fair! I highly recommend! Vegetarian options: Lots of choices for vegetarians! Kid-friendliness: Children are welcome

Accueil chaleureux, très bon conseils de la serveuse qui nous a très bien orienté sur la nourriture géorgienne qui fut une découverte totale pour moi. Ce fut un véritable plaisir et l expérience gustative était au rendez vous. Le décor est aussi très typique et magnifique. Si vous voulez une expérience en immersion c est le bon endroit!!

Friendly service and the flavor was there in many of the dishes. Are maybe suffering a bit from an over extended menu which make them have things frozen for reheat? All in all good but not the fantastic experience Georgian food often is. Too bad that they dont have Georgian (or at least regional) wine anymore!

We enjoyed our meal; interesting flavours. No a great wine selection however.

If those dudes picked up the phone when you call (and try to reserve a table) that would help them get more business. Called multiple times in the same day, different times. Wonder what their excuse is, besides laziness?? Terrible service.

This cannot be called a Georgian restaurant. Wasted food, like in a canteen at an enterprise, Kiev cutlets were clearly bought somewhere on the side and bear little resemblance to the original, a meager selection of very average wine. The interior is shabby, like a funeral home. Only the khachapuri was quite good. Its just sad to see such a restaurant in 2024

Amazing place with extremely tasty Georgian food

We liked this place. Atmosphere is quiet and cozy. Service was good as well. We ordered khachapuri and it was great though not that large as I expected. Also I ordered pelmeni (dumplings) and they were ok but nothing special. Nice place to have a lunch for reasonable price and taste a bit of Georgia. P.S. And we also admired interesting paintings by some local artist.

Food was delicious and place feels very wholesome! Too bad they were out of Kvas though

The food, service and atmosphere were excellent. The khachapuri is a must take (we ordered it twice because of how good it was). One of my favorite ex-soviet country restaurants in Montreal. I highly recommend visiting this great restaurant.

There were four of us, each ordered 2 dishes, in total - 8 out of 8 - the food was tasteless, they even managed to ruin the red borscht

We ordered a larger dinner2 days in advance to be prepared for delivery for a corporate meeting for 12 people. We were notified 45 minutes before the food was supposed to arrive that they were too busy and they would not be providing us with our order.

Everything was very tasty, especially the vegetable borscht. A bald, pleasant waiter is just a godsend. So nice. It was cozy. We will come back again. I would like khachapuri in the Adjarian style and khinkali with cheese Vegetarian options: Borscht, vegetables and many others

We went to taste Georgian food, and as a result got into a Russian restaurant, there was not even Georgian wine. The waitress girl didnt even wish it delicious. There is no service

Ordered a scheduled delivery, 6 hours in advance. The order was cancelled last minute leaving us without a dinner because kitchen is too busy. Well... I wont know if the food is authentic but the attitude is.

Kyiv not Kiev also I never heard a term Russian salad like what is that perhaps you mean Olivie ? Thank god at least you didn t manage to call Borscht as Russian soup

We enjoyed the food. It was very good for more than a reasonnable price. The atmosphere was great. The service and the witress were excellent also. Only one little « « but » (and maybe not that little). Keep the witress, she is definitly an asset. But, and I know you are located in a very anglophone area of Montréal (but still we are in a french province), she should be able to speak a little french. I am far to be a fanatic on this topic, just knowing the basic would be enough, as far as I am concerned. Thank you. It was good and I will be back soon.

We booked for Sunday 2pm, we were 6 people and were alone at that time, we had a great time, enjoyed delicious food. We were with children, they even played cartoons for us. I ate borscht, dumplings, chicken shish kebab, khachipuri, everything was delicious. The atmosphere is so old Soviet without any chic. Parking is bad. Reasonable price

I had a very good evening at Georgia, the food was very good (but the portions were a little small in my opinion) and I recommend the chicken kyiv . There was, I believe the owner, who played pieces of Russian music on the violin and who set the mood in the place with his sound console on this penultimate day of the year. All the customers present there started dancing. However, I have to talk about the young, inexperienced waitress who, one, did not speak French at all and two, made more than obvious mistakes such as not asking us when ordering if we were having something to drink and leaving my glass of water completely empty throughout the evening while I was really thirsty, and I have never seen that in my entire life in a restaurant!

Fun restaurant. The food was tasty, and the music was great, the entire restaurant was dancing together by the end of the evening.

This is the best eastern european restaurant in the city. The food is always fresh and well seasoned, one of our favorite go to places for birthdays or even just for a delicious supper.

The restaurants façade is frankly depressing and in no way betrays the warmth and loveliness inside. Dishes range from the extraordinary to the cosily home-cooked. Worth a try.

Small restaurant but really cozy and nice. The grill was broken so we had to choose from a set menu. Food and service were okay for what we got. The bilinchki with meat was the best! It should be a main meal with 5 of them ;) Will go back to try other dishes on the menu once the grill is fixed. Food

Terribly organised. We wanted to eat here to mark a special occasion. We made a reservation well in advance. We get to the restaurant and they tell us they dont have a reservation for us and cant get us a table for two (even though there was one empty table marked reserved). Ruined our evening. Very disappointed.

I was overwhelmed by the rudeness. We made a reservation and travelled 40 minutes to get there. When we arrived, they said that they were unaware of our reservation and didnt let us dine. We wanted to celebrate our anniversary, but they ruined it

A small restaurant full of character operated by a small but diligent staff. Interior décor is quite lavish without being overwhelming though, in my opinion, it does betray the actual casual, home-y atmosphere present. The menu is primarily Russian dishes with Georgian ones integrated. Dishes are wonderfully presented with utmost care and with clear and present love for the food being served. The food itself is quite tasty with a depth and variety of flavor presented with the sides complimenting the main item in each dish. And all food is rich and fulfilling regardless of portion. Price may be a bit high for some, though I believe that it is totally worth it for the food.

Food was delicious! We tried several different dishes: stuffed pepper eggplant entrees, as well as the solanka soup and the roasted hen and the khinkali. Will definitely return to this place!

A pleasant dining experience overall. While the server was nice and informative (and apologetic for the unavailable dishes) he was tardy in bringing/refilling water glasses. The food was delicious and portion to price ratio was fair. The atmosphere is very cozy (fireplace a bonus on the cold night) but the music was a tad loud. I had reserved through Libro but the reservation was not registered with the restaurant. Luckily the place was empty so we got a table no problem. Would probably go back because the food was good Vegetarian options: I had the eggplant starter and it was delicious

The meat they brought was not lamb or mutton, it was over-salted and raw inside. They tried to prove that it was lamb . In general, lamb/mutton is my favorite meat; I know the taste and smell very well. I was outraged by the lack of respect for the client, passing off completely different meat as lamb!

We visited this place for the first time today. Delicious like at home. Borscht, salad, khinkali were wonderful. And khachapuri and pancakes with cheese for dessert simply caused delight. A very nice young man did his best for us. We will definitely come back here more than once.

Don t come to this place. Not for Georgian food. Me and my family we really like Georgian food, had it throughout Georgia, and numerous Kiev and Moscow restaurants. At this place we took hinkali, khachapuri, chicken and pork shashlik: 1) this is Georgian cuisine ONLY by name of the dishes presented. It s a complete, unmitigated catastrophe. Adjika was half-decent. But everything else just disaster. 2) service was good enough, a girl did a remarkable job, actually.

The food is good, some items from menu are missing, the atmosphere unfortunately is not authentic because of Russian (style of 90-s ) music instead of Georgian music or at least something neutral in English or French.

Drive all the way to find out they were closed for the long weekend, busiest time of the year!!! How can you not update the account to reflect opening and closing hours? Lack of professionalism.

Dining in this restaurant, you truly get a sense you are having your meal in Russia or one of its satellite countries, the design and the decorations plus the waitress make you feel like to be in Tbilisi. We were lucky enough to have some native Russians or Georgian next to our table and they sang a few famous folklore songs together which made the taste of the food stronger and more pleasant. We ordered eggplant garnished with pomegranate beautifully as an appetizer and also a soup which had something very similar to ravioli and or small dumplings in there. Dont forget to order Khatchpouri which is literally bread and cheese like pizza but prepared in a very traditional manner although I expected in a different shape ( which looks like a crescent ) it was yummy and appetizing. I wish I was there one more time if someone guaranteed I have those singers company

It was really great! We ate so much we couldnt finish. It was delicious. My partner was able to taste again the Russian and Georgian cuisine that he missed and the taste was authentic. Friendly staff. A place to discover! We will definitely return.

I never write reviews but had to share this one. I am originally from Georgia so it s the food I m the most familiar with. The decor of this place is so old and outdated and dusty. When I used the bathroom downstairs I tried to look away when passing by the kitchen because I could see that it wasn t clean. Ordered soup that usually comes with a sour cream. When asked the waitress for it , who is extremely shy , she says they just run out of it. The next dish , grape leafs rolls with meat and rice always comes with sour cream or at least plain Greek yogurt. She brought somethings in a jar and when asked if it s sour cream she said it s mayonnaise. And let me tell you , I don t care if you run out of it , but never ever serve this dish with meo and act like this is normal. Then it was hachapuri , in the menu you have options of large and small sizes. Ordered small one , thinking it would be regular looking hachapuri but it was just one small slice. That would never happen in traditional Georgian restaurant. Hinkali where ok but tiny. It s only the Georgian name on a sign , but no one working there including the chef is actually from Georgia. Waste of money

Im not sure how many stars to give when one calls a couple of days ahead to make sure the restaurant is open and then on the day you go its closed.

$50 worth of disappointment. It should be illegal to pack khinkali the way they do. One on top of another with bullion on top? What a joke! When you pick it out of the container the bottom of khinkali stays in the container stuck to another khinkali. Pilav is very subpar. Pick anything else other than this place, there are so many better places in Montreal.

I was planning to give it a 3 star review as the food was ok but far from what you would expect from a georgian restaurant. But by the time I reached the hotel I was feeling unwell and ended up with a nasty food poisoning. So BEWARE and think twice if you are thinking to give this place a try.

Homely atmosphere, friendly restaurant owners... Parking: Parking along the sidewalk, paid. After 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday it is free.

Low quality & very greasy fat foods, no trace of Georgia foods at all, very small portion , almost kids size portions , too expensive compare to food portions , disrespect to not bring the balance of payment to chose by customer how much pay as tip ,. In general : just waisting of money

First of all, I went on a group outing as part of a Russian class. I congratulate Natalya for organizing this dinner, she first sent me the menu by email and then she made arrangements with the owner of the restaurant to say that so and so wanted this and that. I never had this kind of organization in my life. Bravo Natalya, I hope one day to find myself in the Russian course while going with a group to this restaurant. I liked my meal, I had a pork shashlik with potatoes and salad. Finally, I had a tea in a glass holder which can be shaped like a cup.

Claiming this is a Georgian restaurant is an insult to Georgian cuisine.

I was excited to try le Georgia but unfortunately the food was very disappointing. Having had Georgian food before this was unfortunately not on point.tjw Kachapuri was a reheated greasy dish with little cheese. Same for the blinchiki smiasum that lacked flavor as well as the kinkhali.

Food is good, prices were OK. Table Dhôte prices are more expensive than buying all the items separetly on the menu. Overall the experience was ok but not sure Ill be back.

We came in Saturday night excited to have some Georgian food. I ve been to many Georgian restaurants before, and it always has been one of my favorite foods. That s why I ve got so upset visiting this place. Khachapuri was clearly microwaved (it s not even a suggestion: we literally heard the microwave beeping downstairs), and it also wasn t a classic boat Khachapuri, what it was - cold in the middle. Borscht was ok, but I d say very much vegetarian version of it, and tasteless enough. Khinkali were ok. The only good thing about the meal was Georgian wine.

We really liked this restaurant and recommend it to everyone who likes Georgian-Russian cuisine. The food is delicious and the waitress is very friendly. Its a good place.

A very cozy restaurant serving Georgian cuisine in a homey atmosphere. As a Georgian used to eating Georgian food on the daily, I was curious and ready to judge the quality of the food. The meat in the chicken shashlik was very well cooked and khachapuri was some of the best Ive ever had. They have a good selection of coffees and teas. The Russian Coffee is particularly good. The restaurant is quite small, however, and there are only really five tables. The service was good, nothing exceptional. I would say its a bit pricey for what you get, but only with some of the menu items.

The worst place in this city. Very rude, not the waitresses though. Girls, go find another job! Highly UNrecommended place!!!!!!!! Boorish attitude, unacceptable. I dont recommend it to anyone.

Nostalgia is probably the only reason to go, food is OK at best, service is a bit better than OK. They do have live music once in a while, hard to find parking in the area and overall its a very strange, 70s experience that its hard to enjoy.

Really enjoyed the meal and the service. It was like being guests in the home of someone who knows how to cook.

Lovely environment and delicious dishes

Came here for a wedding, the food was to die for and the owner welcomed us like we were his own family.

With all the talk of Russia in the news lately, I suddenly got a craving for some authentic Russian food, so my wife and I headed straight for Le Georgia Restaurant on Decarie Boulevard near Queen Mary Road. This is a small and cozy restaurant that has only seven tables. My wife started with the Lobio salad which is a delicious blend of red beans and walnuts, while I chose the hot Borshtch with sour cream, a delightful beet soup that you cant beat. For our main dish my wife chose the Chicken brochette served with a green salad and roasted potatoes, and I picked the Chicken Kiev served with a tasty rice and green salad on the side. Both portions were generous and we thoroughly enjoyed the two meals. Service was fast and friendly throughout. For a Russian food experience where you wont be rushed, Le Georgia is the place to dine.

We were a group of 12 and had a great time! There was live music and a great overall atmosphere. The waitress who was working alone was incredibly efficient and professional. The food was excellent. Thanks for a great night!
