Went to the west island location newly opened very disappointed as i heard a great feedback about philinos food below average regarding the price octopus plate for 65$ taste like cans food the only yummy food was the potato service was slow we waited more than 45 minutes with lots of mistakes i can understand this as the restaurant was packed .

Greek salad was fresh and fun with great presentation. I had the beef moussaka with a mile high bechamel, a generous portion and good flavor.

Favorite Greek resto in the city. The portions are sooo generous for the price and everything tastes amazing every time.

Loved this restaurant, small with great atmosphere. Authentic greek food, they helped us order a gluten free meal as many dishes contain flour. Overall it was a good experience. Vegetarian options: Not many but there are options besides salad which is a plus. Dietary restrictions: Not a dedicated gluten free restaurant, so cross contamination is possible, however they will do their best to accommodate a gluten free diet.

Food was very tasty, but our 7-person table was largely ignored. Our appetizer plates were cleared before two of us were finished eating, our server consistently ran away after only 1 person ordered (happened every time anyone ordered a drink or main) without asking others if they wanted food/drinks. Overall we felt very unwelcome. It was a strange experience. We sat down between 6:30 and 7 and didnt get served all our food/finish up until after 10 pm (we had hoped to leave by 9). I wouldnt have written a review, but usually when this happens at a busy restaurant the servers at least say apologies for the wait. Maybe its better to go as a 2 or 4 person table, ordering as soon as you sit down, on a weeknight, but honestly the quality was similar to cheaper places around (Jardin de Planos, etc.) where weve had 15+ people tables and felt more welcomed.

Restaurant of very good taste quality with welcoming and smiling staff. My evening with my friends was excellent. Nothing to complain about and thats rare. I can only recommend going there.

Their barbecue is so delicious. Tasty and not stale. A barbecue platter includes chicken, lamb, pork, sausages and vegetables. It s really a good deal and even two people may not be able to finish it.

Mythical Greek restaurant on Avenue du Parc. **Please note this branch is NOT bring your own wine compared to the one in Laval** We ate an excellent classic Greek meal. The decor is from another era but comforting. Everything was well done. Were not talking about reinvented cuisine here, but about timeless classics. Very special mention for the lamb chop which was super soft. The only downside was that the moussaka wasnt very hot and I dont think the dish was worth $29. We had a lovely evening Good service

Food was fabulous. Especially when your in a group of 8 or more. You take the Group combination (varies between $70 & $80/pers.) A taste bud delight. Was at least an 8 course meal. Definetly worth the price

So much delicious wine (Sauvignon Blanc) in one glass! Loved the coziness and vitrail decorations. Feel like you are back in time when the food was good and the portions are good enough to feed a big man but also healthy type of food. I recommend for lunch and diner

I have been visiting this restaurant often in the mid 2000s, when I was a permanent resident. I just got back to town and I visited with my wife. Nothing has changed. It feels as if I was taken back in time! :) I was pleasantly surprised. The food is excellent albeit a bit on the pricey side.

this place has the friendliest waiters/staff. the vibe is vintage and straight out of a movie which I find is cool. they ve ruined spanakopita for me cause I can t eat it anywhere else now.

Best authentic Greek food. Philinos feels like home, just like those dinners with your grandparents. The fried zucchini and calamari are hard to beat. We tried the lamb, salmon, sea bass and moussaka. They were all exceptional. The waiter suggested a fine chardonnay that paired very well with our meal, couldnt ask for anything more perfect.

If I could add six stars on service, I would. The waiter was the most lovely, attentive person ever, they didnt even had pina coladas on the menu, but he made me one he always made sure everything was alright and that we were comfortable, had my best salad ever here, and oh the pork chops?? Idk the greek name, they were GREAT, and I never eat pork. Aside from pork, Greek food is so healthy and tasty and this restaurant does it splendidly.

This place was very very good. I would 100% recommend getting the octopus if you want to indulge yourself. The moussaka and the souvlaki were incredible as well. Our server was nice and checked in on us often (but not too much). Overall an easy recommend.

We visited Philinos for dinner while visiting family in Montreal. The food was as close to Greek traditional food as possible (not the usual North American Greek food that many Greek restaurants have). Amazing dishes with fresh ingredients and great taste. Good selection of Greek wines too. Our server really enhanced the dinner experience by providing impeccable service. Do not miss the opportunity to have lunch / dinner there if you visit the area. Thank you for the hospitality. We will return for sure next time we will be in Montreal.

Had a wedding here a few days ago and everything was perfect the place is nice the waiters are 10/10 they ll always be on time waiting is not an option once you ask for something you can expect to get it in a few seconds. The food is one of the best Greek food I ve ever tried, we had entrees of three different kinds of dips with slices of bread then some grilled octopus with calamari and fried cheese with some salade everything was good the salade was refreshing I loved the octopus wish I asked for more. The main dish we had a platter of sausage with lamb and pork with chicken all of it was great my least favourite was the sausage but the lamb was delicious with a side of potatoes the potatoes were good as well! Only bummer thing about this place is the parking which is obviously not their fault but depending on the time and day good luck finding parking.

All the Greek classics prepared perfectly. Great place to go in a group. Dont skip dessert.

After almost 2 decades of coming here, I have to say Philinos always lives up to its hype. Still noisy, still charming, still authentic.

The greek cuisine they serve is completely and utterly delicious. The ambience is tip-top and the servers were courteous!

Placed an order at 5:30 for delivery at 7 and the restaurant canceled my order at 6:50. Not right, if you are going to cancel do it so we have time to order from an other restaurant.

Great dinner!

Dinner reserved for 4 people on a Saturday evening. We had spreads as a starter. The potato one was still... Frozen at the core... Too bad.. For the rest we took the meat dish to share as well as the seafood dish. The different meats were very good. Very hearty. Price still high I think. 3.5/5 for us.

I can say this with all honesty, this restaurant was amazing. We showed up a group of 30, they took it in stride and seated us right away. The waiters were super friendly and super efficient. The prices were decent and the food quality was absolutely amazing. I recommend this restaurant to anyone in Montréal and all visitors. Sorry for the picture I kind of dug in before I got a good picture.

Ambiance is fantastic, I would go back just for that. Service was outstanding, bravo ! Loukaniko appetizer and dish were overcooked (burnt) dry and salty. Vegetables carrots, broccoli, green beans were blend no seasoning cooked in water. So tasted all the same. Potato was burnt and it was a boiled potato. For the chicken KOTOPOULO, my friends ordered it, and it looked grilled - and dried. We were asked if everything was ok .. - we did not dare answer back and said, all is ok. . . , that is our fault on that. Oh! Salad was excellent. I would still recommend that restaurant.

As a celebrity I eat at many wonderful places, but this place is my favourite in Montreal Yves is without a question of a doubt the best waiter there.. and his service was amazing !!! Food was as Greek as it comes , highly recommended John didn t like his salad but doesn t seem to like anywhere we go lol

Great food, great service, old fashioned style. Great terrasse but needs some love and repair. Chicken and fish cooked and prepared to perfection. Greek salad and taramosalata ok but nothing to brag about. Good wine selection but steep price (a glass for the price of the bottle at saq). Overall this is still a great pick for a nice meal on Park ave but at that price point, there are better options in the neighborhood.

Ordered fried zucchini eggplant. It is overcooked, tastes bitter and soggy. I hope they can change their oil more frequently. They can t even fry things properly.

Can be quite noisy when busy if youre looking for a quiet intimate dinner. The service can be slow. Some serveurs work very hard while others seem to slack. The rack of lamb is among the best I ever had!

One of the best Greek restaurants in montreal

This place is a classic and has to be one of the best, if not THE BEST, Greek food in town ! The restaurant is so cozy and great for family and group events! The staff is so warm and friendly too :) I hope you guys are safe and well during these trying times and I can t wait to go back when things get better !

Delivery: mezedakia was delicious but in styrofoam container, saganaki was different but still really good, baklava cheesecake was okay but I did appreciate the extra portion. My only complaint is the moussaka which was definitely reheated as it was cold in the middle, and which gives the potatoes on the bottom a terrible texture.

This is a Montréal classic. The welcome is warm, the service is leisurely and the food is terrific. we shared a tzaziki entrée, potatoes, horta and a mixed plate of meat. there was enough food for another person, at least. everything was tasty although the horta could have benefitted from a second washing, as i found grit in most bites. the restaurant and patio were filled on this perfect Friday night in June and they may have been a tad understaffed as many places are right now, post-Covid confinement, but a good time was had by all!

Only for regulars, if you are not a regular customer at this restaurant expect bad table location, eye rolling service and all those smalls details that will quickly turn something that should be fantastic into a below average experience, the salad we got was drenched in oil and so were the side potatoes, the lamb and sausage and chicken were 5 stars but the little other annoyance turned this experience from 5 stars to 2 stars, we made a reservation for a Saturday and were told we would be outside but since we are not regulars we end up inside at the crappiest table while all those regulars who showed up 30 minutes after us got tables outside

Yummy!! I had Greek lasagna, it had eggplants and beef, potato paté and vegetables. I dont normally like lasagna but this was SOOOO good!!:) I also really loved the Greek salad! The meals are very expensive, but they give you a large plate so you end up taking some home and having two dinners for the price of one. Come hungry and leave happy :)

A typical Greek brasserie, the food is excellent accompanied by a good wine or a nice cold beer, you will have a great time.

Great Greek Food and nice bar to have a drink

First and last time dining at Philinos!! For appetizers we ordered octopus which contained way more onions than actual octopus , calamari which were served soggy and cold! Saganaki cheese was decent! We ordered wine, which was only served half way through meal! Zucchini and eggplant slices also served Cold with very thick, pasty tzatiki sauce. For main meal, we ordered lamb chops. They arrived lukewarm, bland. No seasoning whatsoever!! Terrible food and terrible service and very expensive!

Neither good nor bad we froze throughout the meal because the exterior doors were left open due to a line up after asking the employees/waiter twice we abandoned the project and it was our last visit to this restaurant
