Restaurant Zante in Montreal

We deliberately mislead the customer and take advantage of very poor communication and understanding in order to make them pay more than double! Disgusting method which leaves a very bitter taste even if the meal itself was tasty! Check the prices carefully before ordering so as not to have unpleasant surprises and a hefty bill. The waiter ruined the experience for me. I will never come back and will never recommend this restaurant to my many international customers again!

The music so loud and inappropriate for a nice dinner on the town. Can t understand if it s having an identity crisis, but seriously a DJ in a lovely restaurant and no dance floor. I can still hear the vibrations from the music in my head 18hrs later

The fastest thing I received all night was the bill and I didnt even have the time to look at it before the server handed me the credit card machine to pay for it!!

For an authentic Greek cuisine dining experience, Zante remains one of the best options in Montreal.

Zante was pleasant in the end, after working through too loud music (lowered after request), incorrect food and drink brought to table, and more than an hour wait for our food.

This place got very overpriced for dinner... 42$ for a octopus appetized that was very so so and presentation 0/10 (chopped tentacles with a little bite of oil and onion ... main course 48$ for a piece of cod, 45$ shrimps... Service OK, but not exceptional... I have been there a few time in the past for lunch, but for dinner it was the last time...

Visiting Montreal for the first time, and enjoyed an outstanding dining experience at Zantas. The huge shrimp, lamb chops and grilled octopus were outstanding!!

The food wasnt good. The starter (zucchini) had too much oil and the tzaziki was bland. Both the starter and main course had no salt or pepper and portion sizes were very small. The service was so so. I asked for salt and pepper and it never arrived. I had to ask again to get it and by then I was done with half my meal. When we told the waiter we did not like the food she counter argued that but you finished your plate. Not a fine dine by any stretch.

We are staying at the Cantlie Hotel and wanted to drink a coffee at 1:30 p.m. in the afternoon we were 5 people the waiter told us that they dont just serve drinks. We told him that we were staying at the hotel, thats when he told us that the restaurant was not linked to the hotel although it was on the hotel website as one of their restaurants. 07/17/24

Best service best food great vibe

Sat outside and had the Greek salad and the fried zucchini, both amazing. Lots of fish dishes and lamb chops looked good. With several apps - very large - and several glasses of wine the bill was $110 total. And on a mild evening the setting on Sherbrooke is very pleasant. For an informal dinner one of the best we ve had in Montreal.

Great cocktails and bartender (ok, that s obviously connected). Always friendly people and great people for a chat at the bar. Definitely the best Moscow Mule I had outside Moscow :)

Grilled octopus starter was absolutely delicious. Special of the night was the snow crab and enjoyed that as well. Menu items are quite pricey though.

Delicious authentic Greek food. Everything we ordered was extremely fresh and tasty. We had a bunch of appetizers and sea bass for the main course. The Greek salad portion was very generous and the feta was light, not too salty, lots of perfectly ripe tomatoes! We were four people and some of us did not want calamari so he suggested a half portion which was a perfect suggestion. The sea bass was light and flaky and perfectly cooked. The waiter was very attentive and came asked if everything was to our liking and he provided us advice on the perfect amount of food to eat. The environment was lively with a DJ. We cant wait to go go back. Bon Appétit! This restaurant is connected to the lobby of the Cantlie Suites Hotel. In the summer of 2021, we stayed in this hotel for three weeks. For some reason, we never came in. I always felt a little regretful! I came here specially after climbing Mount Royal today. We arrived much earlier than the scheduled time, but the staff still warmly greeted us to sit down first. My daughter ordered a cocktail, probably a Martini with a little coffee, it was very delicious! The Swordfish steak I ordered was also very tasty and juicy! Anyway, it s very close to home, so you can come here often!

Appetizers were ok, served with dirty glasses, lamb chops (60$ for four small medallions) took an hour, were overcook and dry. Bus boys took better care than the waiters

La Terrasse is not to be missed in summer, try the fresh fish and green salad.. delicious!!! Octopus yummy!!! I would definitely come back!

Food and service both top notch. Attentive and gracious staff. We had a set menu for our event, our second annual. It s the only place where I enjoy octopus and squid without worry. They were both tender and tasty. The mains are also outstanding. Last year I had the chicken, while this year I ordered the lamb. Both out-of-this-world good. Highly recommend.

Very fortunate to have come across Zante during our trip to Montréal. During our dinner the service was excellent and the food was outstanding. My wife had the grilled salmon and I had the swordfish. Bothe were cooked perfectly. The swordfish might be the best I ve ever had in a restaurant. Would highly recommend and will return on our next visit to Montreal.

Zante was amazing. The hostess and our Italian bartender were charming, attentive, and very engaging. The food was incredible! The zucchini appetizer, the lamb chops, and most importantly, the grilled chicken, were all delightful.

Food and service were exquisite. I suggest getting starters and sharing and then having a main dish. Very very good.

If you want to eat well, I 100% recommend to go eat at Xante. I had the Special appetizer which is fried Zucchini and cheese. The Greek salad is a must. I had the lamb chops and my friend had the salmon. I don t know which was better

Just flew in from Vancouver and picked this place really quick. Found a gem! My wife is a picky eater, very critical of restaurants. She said she would give it 5/5 and I m with her. We had the Zucchini chips, Calamari, Chilean Sea Bass, and Linguine Seafood Pasta. Everything was Stellar. To too it off, the service was very friendly, quick, and gave us free desert just for kicks. Highly recommended and will definitely come back next time my wife and I are in town.

A total rip off. A one serving size of pasta with simple tomato sauce, one shrimp, two scallop and squid rings that are so small such that require microscope to see costed me 44 dollars. The roasted oyster mushroom is underseasoned. The grilled octopus is okay I guess.

Went for my girlfriends birthday, food was pretty good, the menu had a good selection, not too many plates but were all interesting. The atmosphere was very laid back, not too loud and not too many people. Staff was very nice and brought us some dessert at the end of our dinner.

Worst service I have had in my life. The waiter didnt care, he didnt care about us, he knew he was wrong about our dish, he never came to see us even once. We had to wait 1 hour to get our bill which I asked for 3 times, complete nonsense! I give one star for the octopus which was super good.

The flavours of all foods at Zante Restaurant are as close to Greece as they can be! Such an awesome place. Wow! Need I say more? Best calamari I ever had. It was tender, hot when it came to the table, freshly made,...a must have. We ordered other items as well...more appetizers than anything else. But were full when done. There was the stacked fried zucchini tower with Taziki in the middle, grilled vegetables, best crab cakes ever and octopus salad. Highly recommend this place. And of course, the five star service. All a great evening. Enjoy!

A little overpriced. The appetizers (grilled octopus, fried zucchini & eggplant, tzaziki) were excellent! The mains were boring the giant shrimp had no flavor other than the charcoal. It smelled so good but it was disappointing and served with vegetables on the side similar to a presentation you would receive at a reception hall.

First time here and was very pleased with the lunch. The sea bass was exquisite. Flaky and melt in your mouth delicious. The service was excellent. We will certainly come back again.

A friend recommended this place but i think the cook and waiter were having an off night. 6pm on a Thursday with 10 % of the place full. The busboy was taking care of us more than the waiter. returned the fried zucchini due to sogginess. Main course filet was ordered med rare came blue or worse. Ate half of it, didnt bother returning it after giving up on the place. Gave us some free fried dough but the damage was done.

Not great. Extremely overpriced with lackluster food. I purposefully wanted to take half my meal home as leftovers for my son along with a side dish I ordered and when I got home I realized they didnt pack my order. They took forever to seat us even though we had a reservation. I ordered a side dish to take home to my son (to take at end) but when our food arrived I realized I didnt need it as I knew I would have leftovers...but they didnt check on us so that I could cancel and when they finally came over and asked to cancel the dang crab cakes he said it was too late. It was just an entirely upsetting experience for our anniversary dinner.

Ordered 2 mains (Greek Sea Bass & lamb chops), didnt like that the base plate was identical (beans, potato and corn for both plates). The food was delicious regardless. Service wasnt good Verdict: Good food with a disappointing service. Overpriced & under-delivered. Wont come again.

So the picture in Google is wrong its actually at the cantlie Hotel on Sherbrooke. So only the Keg gets my steak right and these guys got it perfect, its definitely upscale so dress the part, youd love this place if you like good food and good service. Boom! I dont do too many great reviews :-)

Overall, the food is just okay. The appetizers were very good but the main courses (cod and rack of lamb) were average at best. Its also overpriced. Unfortunately, this is not a repeat.

I have just come home from Zante this evening. The food was all very good and could not be faulted. I was seated on the terrace yet strained to hear the other people at the table. After two and a half hours, my nerves were shot. A restaurant is NOT A NIGHTCLUB and does not need a DJ. How does the city allow this kind of establishment to make such an assault on the senses?

Very pricey for standard Greek food, fish was cooked well however our roasted vegetables that was suppose to be the side was scorched french beans. Ordered a pre-dinner drink and had 3 sides served before even finishing my drink, in and out in 1 hour at the end the waiter brought the bill and was hovering at the table waiting for it to be paid. Asked for some leftovers to be brought home to our daughter, they never brought it back. Felt like eating at a fast food restaurant where there are no reservations and a line up waiting to get in! There of course was no line up. Very disappointed, it was our wedding anniversary dinner and we had planned on dining at a Montreal Greek restaurant that is without contest the #1 in the city, didnt because of a recommendation to eat at Zante .... big mistake

Good Greek food and service...a tad loud

Very disappointed with food taste. Ordered lamb chops, they was soft but bitter. My wife ordered fried calamari - they was not cooked enough and also bitter. Looks as a problem of cook. Service was good and fast enough.

Food - 3, Service - 5. The food was not bad, but not great. We liked the wine (Naudin Pinot Noir). The service was wonderful - Duli was a great waiter and took care of us the whole night. Roasted veggies were awesome. Calamari was also good. In our experience, we feel that the sea bass was slightly overcooked. Same thing with our lamb chops - nothing too special. Our waiter brought us desert on the house and the desert was yum.
