A&W Canada in Montreal

Sometimes a lot of people but fast and courteous service, even managed to have crepe at 1 p.m. (kindly ask and not busy at the time) (regular customer) (doesnt mean always possible... but....) I love it

Fast food by default. It remains very clean, well maintained and the service remains professional. For metropolitan French people reading this, its the burger king or the French but Canadian Macdonald.

I would like to tell you about an abusive and discriminatory situation that I experienced at one of the A&W franchises located at 1651 av. Mount Royal East, Montreal, QC, h2d 1z6 On the evening of August 29, 2024 around 9:45 a.m. - 10 p.m., the owner or manager of this franchise randomly kicked me out of the restaurant while I was sitting on the bench at the window overlooking Marquette Street at the time. to charge a device, claiming that if I didnt order anything I would have to leave the restaurant. That evening, there were also other people seated who had not ordered anything, in particular a gentleman with a cap sitting behind me with his personal belongings, dirty laundry and others and his laptop, but she did not tell him said nothing. Also this gentleman in question comes to squat in this restaurant every day. It was also at the request of this gentleman that she threw me out of the restaurant. Itinerant people regularly come to sit in this section of the restaurant on a regular basis, those who frequent this restaurant regularly can attest to this. So there you have it, I simply wanted to share my experience of a discriminatory atmosphere that I experienced with the owner or manager of this franchise. Hoping that measures will be taken so that I once again have the taste of frequenting this franchise and eating at A&W without this aftertaste of discriminatory practice towards its customers.

In this restaurant I ordered a Mozza Burger without lettuce and I received a burger (???) without bun with lettuce instead on top and bottom. Honestly, I dont even know what else to say.

TWO-SPEED SERVICE It is quite sad to see that people who travel and queue to place their order are pushed aside to give priority to those who order online and/or at the terminal. Hearing a kitchen employee in a restaurant say priority to online orders, those in line wait for you , seeing the one and only cashier (Tuesday evening 8:30 p.m.) being forced to re-enter the orders received on the tablet in order to be able to place them put in their system (where is the logic?!) and receive their order 26 minutes later. 26. The A&W and its two-tier system; its over for us.

Beyond Meat is simply the best VG burger on the market! The onion rings are really good too, the setting remains a little dilapidated but the staff is friendly and its easy to come back.

Wrong order and very slow and bad coffee

rotten experience with terrible service, and its been several times in this place!!!!!! First of all on the set I was served in English, the person did not speak a word of French. Another person who took over threw a fit and decided to resign on the spot and left!!!!! (he still served my order). We waited more than 20 minutes to get the order because nothing worked (according to him). Half the order was missing and the meat was not cooked!!!!!!!!! The quality has really dropped in this brand in general, and they no longer count on my cash to fatten them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The employees are not even able to take my order in French. It s so degrading for Quebec which is a FRANCOPHONE province. I hope the owners will do something about this problem. THANKS.

We had breakfast, the food is good. We have an all Canadian breakfast and it tastes delicious, the bread is good and fresh. The place is clean and my favorite is the coffee, is great, I really recommend it. Kid-friendliness: Not very friendly, it has stairs in the entrance you cant get with a stroller. Wheelchair accessibility: Not at all

Nice food, but usually there are either some vagrants or loitering locals. Other than that its a pretty nice A&W. It practically killed the McD that was next corner.

An employee who supplies drugs to a homeless person...not strong, the employee went to the basement for a few minutes and came back with a white rolling bag and the homeless man took out his pipe (small black glass pipe) and started smoking in front of the restaurant on the sidewalk. .. Not very much I nicknamed it the new Mc Do which took place at Royal and Papineau which ended up closing..... Being in a bad situation at work, I wouldnt go there!! I hope my opinion will make its way to his superior!!

Everything you would expect from an A&W. Excellent fast food. The buddy burgers are good and always affordable. And what about root beer? A must! This is what sets A&W apart from other fast food restaurants. Fairly quiet location despite the busy Mont-Royal Avenue.

Never disappointed by the food but the staff is not really pleasant, you never understand what they say, never look when you talk to them, and yell at you for your order. In addition, trash cans and cleanliness are very neglected.

The manager has no manners here she s always rude to ppl from school which is next to here and the cashiers here are so stupid the burgers are terrible and the manager pushed my friend to kick her out when she was there to eat with her friends and she still didn t get fired

If you have time to lean, you have time to clean . Ok, I understand, the clientele is really not obvious. Anyone working there definitely deserves more than minimum wage, that s clear. But that s no reason for the floor to be dirty, really dirty. It is also not acceptable that almost all the tables are dirty. It is so much the basis of a restaurant that it makes you wonder where is the management and what does it do? There is definitely room for a lot of improvement.

When they asked me how I wanted my eggs, I said over hard. They had major difficulties with that. I even explained how to cook it longer and they still couldn t process.Then told me they don t cook it like that? So WHY DID YOU ASK? The one down the block, no problem.

Please have someone inspect the A&W corner Mont-Royal and Saint-Denis. It is gross . It smell like pee. It is the most disgusting A&W I have been to. This one is filthy.

Disgusting coffee

The restaurant is full of teenagers with their lunches. They dont eat anything from the restaurant. Noisy and unpleasant. According to one employee, they have lost control so they let it happen. Obviously they are losing the few customers who ate A&W there. To let it happen is to accept. We wont be caught again.

30 minutes to serve 1 customer. The line just kept piling up and when I got to the cash register, they asked me my name, I gave it to them, and a lady started shouting a swear word as if it was someones name, repeated 3 times and finally it was my dish. No, but they dont really care about their customers?! Never seen before! Plus it was dirty, full of people and super unpleasant.

Impossible to be served in French in this restaurant in the heart of the Plateau. They got my orders wrong twice. They wouldnt let me have the chicken wraps I made by mistake, so I could give them to the homeless. They prefer to throw them in the trash. (Its politics) When I finally got the good burger my fries were cold. I told them: You would make fewer mistakes if you could serve us in French. To which I was answered: Thank you!

The food was good, The service was great, Presentation excellent as well. The hash brown was especially delicious. Eggs were cooked as requested and held in one piece each. The reason for not getting 5 stars are: The cost has skyrocketed into the double digits. (probably due to covid and inflation) Square Bread was out of stock. Through no fault of the store: very difficult to access, parking almost non-existent. The road on which it is is blocked off to vehicles. Location clearly suits foot traffic or bikers more. Parking: None

Sunday September 11, 2022, 10 p.m. 2 customers in front of us, 40 minutes for our order to be taken and served. Not an apology, not a commercial gesture, nothing. Several people who were in line behind us left and they were right. All this so that we are served burgers that are really not worthy of A&W, with steaks that are far too cooked and almost fit for consumption (see photo). Truly pitiful service.

If you are traveling, you will love the place and you will make lots of friends.... Except the cashier who is not very friendly.

Funny atmosphere, but food respecting the quality controls that A&W has accustomed me to since my childhood. Besides, of course, the frozen bucks that are now relegated to living in a memory vault.

So, like, were in Montréal, Québec, Canada. The bare minimum, according to some decency standards and according to law 101, is to provide service in french at all times. I know its not easy finding a job as an immigrant and I do not want the employee to be the one suffering from this but, like, finance a french class for them something? Anyways, just please have your cashiers speak french.

Their mushroom mozzarella buddy burger is delicious. Bread is fresh and fluffy.

This restaurant is full of traveling people, the service provided by the night team is exclusively in English. When we arrive we are spoken to directly in English, I emphasized this point and the person at the cash register refused to serve me in French. A complaint was submitted to the Quebec Office of the French Language. As a reminder, the only official language in Quebec is French.

Parking is a problem. Wifi is free and open but it sucks really. Staff need to be more hygiene conscious their food handling is scary. Their rest room is mostly clean and controlled. You will have to tell them before they you gain access to use the washroom.

Cold burger, cold fries , cold service, all for 13.95$. Wiling never go back
