The food is always super good here. Jess is amazing at service and she's so kind!!! I highly recommend this restaurant
Highly recommend! Their food always tastes the same (unlike other places) and the quality is top notch! Staff is kind and patient. Highly recommend the dal makhani, gobi aloo and the aloo paratha! Always tastes like india!
The workers have been absolutely amazing. They have been so kind and generous with their time. The food was also delicious and the decoration beautiful. A must try - and you'll also want to go back - like us!
Definitely recommend! I entered the restaurant quite late but I was still received by the very friendly and welcoming Nazrin and Simran (thank you girls!). Food is very good and the portion exceptionally generous for the price 😊
Please increase your portion size! They count pieces of chicken and give small portion. Change your 16oz containers to 32oz and charge $16 for the dish instead of $13. I see that as a win-win. Other than that good and polite people. Food tastes good and place smells good.
This restaurant offers an exceptional dining experience. The food quality is outstanding, with rich, authentic flavors in every dish. The service is impeccable, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring a pleasant visit. A true gem for lovers of Indian cuisine, it’s a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable meal.
They seem to follow the growing Uber trend in which they advertise a 2 for 1 special and send you half portions. Either that or their portions are incredible small. Either way, it's still a scam. Do yourself a favor and go to Pharmaprix and get the generic butter chicken because not only it tastes better, but it's also 1/3 of the price.
Truly appreciated the personal service, tasty food and the mango lassi. The lovely young lady who served us told us her name but I didn't write it down so can't recall now but do have photo of her, is a gem and has a brilliant smile.
Awesome time I ve spent to the Mount-Royal restaurant! The server Jess was the best she s sweet and cares about her clients. The food was really tasty and flavorful as Indian food is known to be!
Very good and excellent price
Channa samosa is so good.Great Service.Best Indian Restaurent.
It is a pleasure to come to this restaurant, the kindness of the staff and their generosity is always comforting.
The 2 people at the service are very professional and very helpful...We will come back...Its really good! THANKS
Excellent food and amazing service from Jass. The prices are reasonable too. I recommend a visit!
Great food at a reasonable price. The service was warm
Very delicious food. Highly recommend the butter chicken plate
Such an amazing place! Really good food for such an affordable price! Also, the staff is very nice!
Raised as we like... Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian dishes! Kid-friendliness: Too spicy for children!
Courteous service and excellent food. I will go back :)
I ordered the vegetarian thali, with three different vegetarian mini dishes, salad, rice and plenty of fresh Indian naan. Divine. And cheap too!! referring my friends to this place for sure.
Overall a good experience. Simran and ruby are really nice. They gave a good service. Highly recommended.
Affordable, good food and Very good service with a kind and friendly lady named Jass. Food
Quick, convenient and super tasty. Special shout out to Jass for her friendly service !
Very good service
Ordered on didnt followed my instructions and food was also not good very spicy
Best sevice and best indian in town
Tasty authentic stuff!
I come here often for my lunch. Jass works very hard and always greets me with a smile and good energy. The food is excellent as well. :)
Plz whoever owns this restaurant I want to let you know that u will lose ur bussiness and customers because of the lady that serves people there she s very rude not worth keeping her or else you will lose tons of customers
Plz get rid of the girl that serves people very rude i wont be back there
Good food service by jass
I had the fish Pakora , it was delicious. And the service was super friendly . Definitely coming back !!!
Amazing authentic food, I suggest you sit there and be adventurous. Thank you Jess for the amazing service
Jass gives excellent service, the food is great. Its always a good option, dont hesitate!
Portions incredibly small DO NOT EAT HERE overpriced
The reception is catastrophic, total lack of respect from the girl in the cash register, customer service 0
food and service was great! no bathroom but the food was crazy good with generous portions, will come again i recommand highly Food
Very bad food, waste of money.
Best food, fast service and best prices. I order from here 90% of the time, it s the only take-away truly worth it. I ve been ordering for more than 4 years and it s nearly always the same quality.
I went there for a take out, the girl at the front desk with long hair has a very bad attitude and she is rude I have been here 4-5 times , she doesnt even have a good attitude ... Even my friends had the same problem There was a girl with short hair , she always have a smile on her face and good attitude and welcomed me in a proper manner, am not seeing her here anymore Food was overall good and loved it
Authentic Indian food! Fresh naan bread is amazing Friendly staff and service; Jas is so kind. Very nice experience! Vegetarian options: My favourite were -Dahl, chick peas and cauliflower!
Amazing experience! They re so nice!!
Amazing staff and food. Generous and caring with our family, simply perfect
Save your money - food is cheap for a reason. Ordered via Uber Eats and not only was the food quality not on par with other Indian places in the area, we also got food poisoning. Do not recommend
It s my first time here and I get very good service from the girl named geetika at front cashier. Very good food and staff
This is what I found in a dish of biryani a piece of glass luckily I didnt swallow
Horrible customer service, I went to take an order, the two girls behind the counter didnt even look at me, when I tried to ask for the order they responded very badly, I dont recommend it
Horrible experience ever!!!I would like to warn to people that please don t go to this restaurant because foods are old ,unfresh and smelly.Black Indian girl at waiter is very attitude and disrespectful to client.I had visited lots of Indian restaurant and this is the worst ever..Look at those foods very dry and look like prepared from 2 days ago and nan was hard like rock ..I want to say Good luck this unhealthy Indian Restaurant.People please don t waste your money for this restaurant and I feel that people will get stomach flue from this restaurant.AVOID IT!!!!!
I used to come here often on weekends for takeouts and they have the best chicken tika masala and mango lassi, the girl at counter with short hair is so kind and nice to me everytime !!
Very good!
Great welcome, good service. The food was delicious and what to say about the mango lassi just Wow. I highly recommend a visit. Vegetarian options: Vegeta thali
Food is good and well priced, but after going twice I can say that the food is not fresh and it smelled rotten in the fridge the next day. And we had a stomach ache after eating. Be careful. If the food was fresh, I would maybe give it 5 stars.
Bad hygiene, very small quantity compared to the prices, butter chicken doesnt really taste like butter chicken like other restaurants, I dont recommend it.
This was an order via Uber eats. They left out two of the main dishes and told me they notified Uber to process a refund. This never happened. The food we did receive was a third of the order and was not worth the money. Food is oily and customer service needs work. Still waiting for the refund!
If you sit down and order from the menu, the food is amazing!
Love this place for pickup! Delicious pakora. Kind staff.
Got terrible food poisoning from the butter chicken. After talking with friends, they had similar experience there as well. Do not recommend.
They are not respectful and too dirty and the service is zero
Tasteless food with very late service. Papdi chaat was terrible with just lots of papdi (which was not real papdi) and little bit of chick peas with some horrible red sauce all over the papdis. I wish i had taken a picture of it to post. We also took aloo tikki which was ok. Overall the food was worst, would not recommend this place to anyone.
This place is the BEST! The food is unreal, the Malcatani soup is the best Ive ever had. Same with the Aloo Gobi. The Bharta is fantastic. The staff are awesome. Love! highliy recommend <3 Vegetarian options: I am vegan and they are so accomodating and helpful. Also they let me try samples of things I havent had before. And they accomodate other requests I have, Im so picky, and they never mind helping me out.
Very bad experience
Really good!
People speak French
Amazing service from all the staff quick, fast and very friendly
I always notice that there are pigeons at the back of the restaurant, the employees are kind enough to feed them, but for some reason those pigeons always disappear and never come back. Other than that they have some very delicious crunchy pigeon on the menu!
Butter chicken is way too sweet! Why put so much sugar? its like a dessert
We ordered rice and butter chicken. Rice was good, but butter chicken was extremely sweet, like you eat a dessert with chicken
Best indian food i have ever eaten. Lamb madras was spicy and perfectly cooked, the panek paneer was SO delicious and didnt feel wet like some places do. The naan was soft and warm when received and the vegetable samosas are... wow. That dough is a perdect mix; not too thin not too thick and delicious! I will definitely keep this store for my next indian food craving. This doesnt come with cutlery nor rice unless you ask for it/order it, so remember that if you want those.
This is our go to Indian restaurant in Montreal. The price is great, and the food is tasty. Also they are very good and knowledgeable about gluten. All the curries are gluten free. Great stuff!
Worst experience, if you want indian food don t waste your time at this place. I went with a friend to get lunch, the service was infuriating, the girl serving us did not care one bit. I ve rarely seen a bathroom as bad as this either, it was the farthest thing from clean. I took a butter chicken and samosas, it was subpar. The chicken was blend. Overall, don t recommend wasting your time and money here. Just go to the other Bombays.
The waiter constantly spits and sniffs when you eat there
The gentleman from Gujarat offered me an excellent service, very friendly, and the food was delicious. They have a lot of vegetarian options. I had a cauliflower dish with rice a lentil dish and also a chickpea dish with amazing samosas. The reviews are surprisingly bad but I had a great experience. People who are satisfied with this restaurant should also leave reviews.
Terrible food. We ordered the tandoori, the butter chicken and palak paneer. All were super watered down. All you tasted was cream and sugar, theres no complexity to the sauces, which is an insult to the defining quality of indian food; spices. The naan was very chewy, stale and dense. What a shame we wasted 65$ on a date night for two.
This place is closed.
This used to be my go to Indian takeout restaurant but I was very disappointed last night. The butter chicken is usually creamy but was super watered down and bland this time. Also, the prices have drastically increased. Butter chicken used to be $13, now $17! Most shocking: the individual portion of very average tasting rice is now $4.50 (used to be $3). Way too expensive and food was not good.
Order take out all the time, tali plate is easy, affordable and tasty.
Super expensive! Just ordered 2 butter chicken (to go, so no room service) for 34.49$ and at this price there is even not a small portion of rice... A disaster to see all these MTL restaurants becoming step by step NY-style in their pricing. 2 stars for the good flavour
I ordered through Uber Eats from this restaurant. I ordered a garlic naan and butter chicken and it was terrible. The garlic naan was extremely thin and I was still hungry after having it. The butter chicken which should have been the best dish was extremely watery and had no depth. Indian food - especially curries - are supposed to be extremely flavourful and this was not at all. So disappointing.
Food poisoning from old butter chicken that was left to cool too long in the stove. I went there occasionally to help out, despite the fact that nothing was very good or very fresh, but I will never go again from now on. Overpackaging and complete refusal to even try to offer a service in French, however minimal it may be, in no way adds to the already non-existent desire to return.
Good place for Indian food in Montreal.
really not that good
Best Samosas in Montreal!
Disgusting service, took 3 hours for the order to reach to me at first. Too much expensive, taste was not that good as I paid the price of 53$ but still felt hungry. 2 tiny little bowls of curries each for $13. Did not meet expectations at all!!! Very expensive!!
It doesnt look like much but its very good. I waited 5 minutes for my order. They dont speak French but they are not the only ones in Montreal! Excellent and consistent food. I took 2 samosas (huge compared to France), 1 cheese naan and a veggie dish for 22 dollars. And they offered me a mango lassi! adorable. I recommend
Best Indian restaurant in my opinion fast and really inexpensive!
Second time ordering from this place, paid 16$ for chicken vindaloo which came in a tiny container. That is a lowkey ripoff. Not gonna recommend for taste either.
$11 (with tax) for a sizable veg thali plate, including rice, naan, and laasi drink and all pretty good. Can t beat that
Please, make sure you showing the price for Thali lunch and Thali dinner clearly. Since Thali dinner is more expensive. Also, the bathroom was not clean and I could not flush!!!???
Worst customer service. Girls on the cash were laughing and not paying attention to orders . We order and our order was right there and they forgot to gave. The people who came after us and order , got there order and we kept waiting. Girls on the Cash were not professional. Does not speak French. Not welcoming , very unprofessional. Close the restaurant.
The woman at the reception treated me badly
One of the bad stores
I felt like vomit after eating butter chicken and CTM. It s not even butter chicken it looks like yellow dal. We came to Montreal to enjoy vacation. Their food spoiled our trip. Negative 10. Better to remove non veg items from menu. I felt bad for people who wanted to try Indian food and come here. Poor poor poor quality
We were served in English only - you have to do that on the Plateau
Food is tasty ,its quick and friendly service. I will recommend biryani, eggplant and palak. Food
i love this place , good tasty food and friendly service
I came to take (thali) the mixed plate. On the screen it s showing $13.50 when i came to pay she put on the machine 17.50$ . I said why? She said the price on the screen is for the day price . I told her cancel everything and i left. This place stealing it s own customers. BE Careful!!!! By the way she was very rude with me
I did had the chance to order a meal from the restaurant yesterday. They listed this as one of the top restaurants when I looked for a place to eat in the town. I also ordered a tikka, butter chicken, and a naan. In all honesty, this was the most awful experience Ive ever had. In place of the usual curry, the butter chicken was overly sweet, the naan wasnt even baked correctly, and the tikka wasnt really a tikka. If a zero rating was an option, I would have given you that instead. Please make up the things right.
0 customer service , they should close
Extremely watered down butter chicken. Tasteless. Possibly the worst Indian food Ive ever had. This is NOT a top restaurant as indicated on Uber Eats. It might be cheap, but even terrible for cheap.
Good priced food and friendly staff.
Great Indian place to get lunch.
The food is so good and the people there are so nice!
Really a shame, I love Bombay Mahal and always order there. This time I tried this branch on site, and the Chicken Tikka Masala is super oily. There were only 4 tiny pieces of chicken, definitely not worth $16! I wont go again, really disappointed.
Its all about the food in my opinion. Very tasty stuff. Ive been going once a week since I first tried it.
The food is bland and tasteless and the portions were unacceptably tiny and skimpy. They are ripping you off! Ive had sooo much better Indian food! No cooking skills here. Boring, flavourless food! It was like the McDonalds of Indian food. The cooks have no passion or skill. Definitely will never return!!
Awful food with no love from the grumpy cooks. The portions are tiny and skimpy, which is a turn off. This is a ripoff! The cashier/ hostess was nice however, at the end of the day, I wouldnt return. Doesnt compare in any way to Little India on Jean Talon. Very disappointing tasteless , disgusting food! Do your self a favor, Dont go! It is an insult to really tasty Indian food.
Delicious and a great deal for a veg thali plate.
Saltiest biryani Ive ever had, and just one of the saltiest meals Ive ever had as well.
I have never wrote a negative review before but I have to say that I wasnt satisfied with my order from Bombay Mahal. I ordered through Doordash and I was missing an item from my order (naan Bread). They didnt believe me at first when I called them about the error in my order and they didnt help much after my complain. I wouldnt have wrote this bad review if they would have handled the situation differently. From the customer experience I just had with them in handling this problem, I will never order from this place ever again. Also, I have no problem in expressing myself in both english or french and it wont be a problem for me to speak in the preferred language of the person Im talking to but the way I was asked to speak in english to the person at the restaurant was rude.
The best Indian taste ever had in Montreal with affordable prices.
Worst Samosa ever 6 samosa 17 $ !!! Sheet !!
Food was delicious. Service was quick. The Naan was amazing. Definitely will be going back. Highly recommend this place.
First visit here and I already plan to come back. I m so glad they do not serve plastic disposable cutlery. The food was warm and tasty. The Naan was soft and crispy. Service was quick and staff was nice and straightforward, I love this place. Neat and simple.
$13 for a few pieces of chicken without rice or bread
Been here a handful of times. Its pretty delicious but it doesnt compare to some of the nicer Indian restaurants in town in terms of quality.
The receptionist girl was very rude, no manner. And the nann was totally inedible
got recommended this place by a friend but obviously he doesn t know what s good this is experience sucked
Had a very nice Indian dinner for a good price. Amazingly friendly personnel also. We didnt have enough money for the food + drinks, so we skipped the drinks. The waitress have us the free drinks anyhow, because I said I liked the Indian tea so much!
Rude service from the lady behind the counter; extremely rude.
This is not where you should go for excellent Indian food. The sweet lassi is extremely watered down. The mixed vegetable is mostly carrots and potatoes - the potatoes undercooked. The naan is stale and burnt. The polao rice is not really polao but oil and pea stir fried rice.
Delicious! I got the following as takeout: butter chicken, garlic naan, a veggie samosa and rice. Soo flavorful and a nice serving size for one person. Thank you!
Not the same price and the same dishes as on their website, missing items; bad vegetables
Kid-friendliness: Very Tasty and fresh food
Very slow service when ordering online. When we called the restaurant, no proper reason was given and told us that it was not their problem that we are not receiving our order. Very unprofessional customer service! Waited for 2 hours for our food. No food showed up. No reimbursement neither...
Do not recommend this restaurant! The food portion is very small. Also, food were cold when serving. The customer service is awful too.
Online ordering service was very unprofessional and inefficient. We waited 2 hours after ordering from DoorDash and have to cancel the order because the food was never being prepared. When calling the restaurant, the restaurant then blamed DoorDash for the delay. Hope the issue could be resolved!
I love it here the food is awesome ,just sometimes the service is slow.I can t believe they finally opened on the plateau, the restaurant in parc-ex was my go to place for Indian food. Sometimes when ordering online it may come late and it might be cold.but still best butter chicken in Montreal.
Synonyms Indian Food Bombay Dear
Do NOT order from here online! We waited 3 hours before finally receiving our order (and we only live a 10 minute drive away). The food was ok but cold, not worth a 3 hour wait... Would not recommend.
The food excellent here since the first day I went there till now .must try
Ridiculous portions for the price. $50.
Fast service for takeout, great value for the price. Pro tip: Bring back your containers for your next order and get free samosas !
After I ordered which took me just 3 min to decide, the ekspidient said next time be faster! We are about to close 1. What is the chance Im coming back at the same time ? 2. I checked the time and it said they closed at 11, it was 9.30pm 3. Not coming back so dont worry
Great service, great flavour!!!
$8 for the veggie thali lunch, $10.50 for 2-meat thali. The korma was a bit too sweet, but the butter chicken and mango lassi were spot-on. The samosa(?) was also included, so these were great prices for its location. Food could be hotter (temperature-wise). Counter service was nice.
Place is good. Dishes are a bit high side. Only problem is staff is having attitude... Dont understand why?
Really bad place, smells bad if you are trying to dine in here then please don t because the service is really bad the people working in the front don t know what they doing really rude.
I ordered the Chicken Madras and the Lamb Curry. The dishes look delicious, but what about the amount of spices! Looks like we dropped the whole jar. I am used to eating Indian food (Sana, Dera, India Beau Village, Mount Everest), but I have never eaten anything so spicy. Really unfortunate.
I ordered by phone, speaking in French. The employee asked me to speak English. I told him that I would be more comfortable in French. She said bye and hung up. I was surprised by the animosity and lack of respect.
Disappointing experience! I ordered a lamb vindaloo and 2 naans. The vindaloo was just tomato sauce with loads of red chilli and artificial color. This is not at all what vindaloo is supposed to be like. Moreover, the meat tasted stale. The naans were precooked and cold. Avoid this place if you can.
The employees do not speak French and are also incompetent
Delicious, so glad they opened this spot next to my house, they are really kind and the food is awesome just like the original on Jean-Talon street. Will be back soon!
The Biryani is amazing!
Great place, great vibes and great service! A must stop for those looking for delicious Indian food and awesome prices!
Ill just say that I have been going here for lunch like three times a week for last 4 months!!
I come here fairly frequently as I live around the corner, but the last two experiences here warrant this review. Last week I asked for some lamb, and as it was being scooped, a large hair was drawn out from the sauce. The server actually asked me if I still wanted it. I declined and opted for just some naan & samosas, but none was comped and the lamb sauce itself was not scrapped. Today, I received the worst naan Ive ever had; dry, chewy, sour, and overall uneatable. Not only that, but the cup of chicken, naan, and samosas cost me over 20$.... None of this is the servers fault, thus I seriously think that management should reconsider the menu prices and fire some kitchen staff who are dropping the ball and also dropping their hair. Should some of these changes be made, Im happy to change my review, but there is a serious lack of care at Bombay Mahal mt Royal.
Best indian food i ever found in the montreal everything was awesome specially garlic naan was so soft and tasty and chesse chilly was perfectly cooked moreover tandoori chicken leg was best and all the items were excellent and i enjoyed the meal alot nd i give overall five star rating
WORST NAAN AND WORST SERVICE EVER!! I ordered a meal and two naans online and I received 2 pieces of the same small naan, they were soft, rubbery without any flavor and must have been old or bought ready-made. I called to let the restaurant know, they put me on hold and never got back on the phone! First and last time for me!
I come here too often lol ... Its dangerously good. I live around the corner, so its an easy yes for me when Im not feeling up to preparing anything. The service has always been great, and the veggie Tali is the bomb. Ive heard the butter chicken is delicious from people around whove gotten it, so theres that too if its your jam. Id venture to say thats its some of the better Indian food Ive had around these parts. The price is good and the tastes surpass, so why not give it a go! ;) Happy Eating!
Super good food. But I couldnt be served in French. I will go back and maybe change the number of stars.
Just perfect
mostly sauce with 2 little pieces of meat, nann is like rubber and not able to speak French at all
Awesome place for dinning with family . Moreover, tandoori dishes are mouth-watering such as chicken legs, tandoori chicken, tandoori naan specially garlic naan
Wonderful delivery experience! We got the Non-Vegetarian combo for 2 through foodora and we were completely full and delighted. A lady called us minutes after placing the order to make sure she got our note right - very courteous and amiable. The food was delicious and varied: samosas, tandoori chicken, the mains with 2 naans, rice and even dessert! Would absolutely recommend and order from them again. Thank you!
Food is great specially chicken tikka garlic naan and seek kabab is very delicious every one must vist one time best food in all Montreal
I went there for take away.the main dishes were super delicious .i ordered shahi paneer, chicken biryani and veg korma .it was very tasty.for main dishes i can give 5 star.only thing is that the naan was not hot at all.
I used to visit this restaurant very often almost once in a week and I never get disappointed by their service and food quality. Recently, I had ordered paneer chilli, garlic naan and vegetarian biryani. Everything was fresh and delicious in taste. I asked them to make spicy and they prepared exactly as per my request. I also recommend to try different biryani and other veg dishes like Palak paneer, Aloo gobi and chicken dishes like butter chicken and chicken korma (very well known) and ofcourse Samosa. Just make sure to mention about test preferences(if you want either mild or spicy) so that, they can prepare accordingly to your taste preference.
Best indian food i have ever found in montreal. Everything was awesome... specially garlic naan was so soft and tasty. Cheese chilly was perfectly cooked and Paneer Tikka was also very delicious. All the items were excellent and i enjoyed the meal alot. i give overall five stars.Thank you Guys Food in Bombay Mahal is
Delicious food specially garlic naans, Paneer tikka, butter chicken, chicken chillY, even everything was so good. It was the best food I have ever found in Canada. Thank you #BombayMahal
The food was good but everything was wrapped in PLASTIC, hot dishes wrapped in plastic are toxic to your health in addition to destroying the environment
Cheap, fast and delicious. Naan bread are made fresh in a special oven. Samosas are super cheap. The food could use more spices. For an Indian restaurant it was a little bland.
I ordered via Uber eat this week for the first time. I love spicy food but this was inedible because there was so much spice/chili pepper. As a result, my partner and I got sick. Too bad, the dishes looked good but it was impossible to give an opinion on the real quality of the dishes since with the spices we couldnt taste anything else.
I love chicken tikka.overall, the food is really good.
Good this very tasty...and garlic naan is very soft Nd very nice..chikhin tikka very tasty..
The food is really delicious and the price is cheap. I had the chicken tikka Thalie and my partner had the non vegetarian Thalie, both were delicious and not too spicy which we liked. The lady who served me at the counter was very kind and friendly. We will come back!!
Good food and friendly staff
The naans were really bad ... we got tandoori chicken that was also stale ... overall not liking the food.
Excellent service, warm, friendly and professional staff. Excellent food (the best)!
Delicious food (especially the korma, aloo gobi, and naan) and excellent service.
Placed an order at this restaurant, bread was good however the portions were way too small for the price paid, 46cad. If you go eat at restaurants they usually give you a full plate however this was really not the case when I ordered for take out, covid therefore no other way to order. Will definitely not order again, there are many other indian restaurants that are so much better, decided to try this one for a change but a definite no for the future.
