5195 Pare St, Montreal, Quebec H4P 1P4, Canada
Basic eatery with vegetable-based Indian curries & thalis, plus specialty housemade sweets.
The best chana bhatura in town. The dish tastes just like homemade. Also, samosa and pakoras are good here. And, never miss on having tea here. Although, their paranthas could have more filings. Servers are friendly and I never had any service issue here.
Loved the samosa. The food was good for what it was. A little too spicy on an empty stomach even though I have high spice tolerance. I would prefer more flavour especially if it's vegetarian.
I ordered Samosa , Gulab Jamun and Laddu . Really disappointed with the quality and food. The Samosa were uncooked and old , awful taste , I think they brought it from Walmart and make customers fool .same goes with Gulab Jamun , not fresh , burnt and tasteless.i had to throw them , to prevent food poisoning.Do not buy anything from this shop .
I've been eating here for a couple of years now, not once have I been disappointed! A dream for vegans & vegetarians!! The samosas and chickpeas with rice are my all-time fav. The atmosphere is comfortable and cozy. It might take a couple minutes for your table to be served expectedly..Servers are nice and welcoming. I would definitely recommend 🤗
For over 30 year, the Mohan family has been proudly running this vegetarian restaurant / diner style watering hole to perfection. When I was introduced to this restaurant some years back I recall my reaction as "ugh, vegetarian" but I will try anything once. Well, almost two decades later I am still a loyal patron of this fantastic and authentic Indian vegetarian restaurant, where people from all walks of life come to sit and enjoy affordable and delicious food from India. The sole issue with this local has nothing to do with the restaurant, it is with the area it is located in. At one time one could find parking if you drove around long enough, since the redevelopment in the area, both government and developers recreated the streets and such so that there is almost no parking in front nor close by - free or paid. But let me tell you this, it is worth the time and energy to find parking and walk to eat at this restaurant as you will be delighted beyond expectation. Food: fresh, great quality ingredients, beautifully plated in authentic Selection: A wide array of dishes that are sure to please your taste buds including fantastic samosas and onion baji starters as well as Raita and Bathra a fried puffed white pita/bread to die for. Atmosphere: Think of it as an Indian Diner, not a fancy restaurant and the atmosphere is just fine and cozy - not first date cozy (for some), but second date and so forth. The place is kept clean and the washroom as well. Service: As mentioned, this is a family restaurant and their pricing is value based - short for not ripping people off - so, during rush hours such as lunch time, they do get busy and may not have enough people at front of house to satisfy your urgent needs - but be patient, these are beautiful people and they are doing their best to serve their customers as if you were in their own home. So please, if you are in an urgent rush advise the server or front counter in advance and state how much time you have so they can evaluate if they can meet your time line so you enjoy your experience. Pricing: As mentioned, this place is all about providing real value. Their competitive advantage and why people are loyal boils down to great quality, fantastic taste, good portions, and excellent pricing. You are paying for the food not the fancy location, decor, etc. Meal suggestions: Typically most people like to order the meal of the day as it is not only affordable, but it takes the decision making off the list of things to do and lets the chef serve you what is fresh and awesome. It typically comes with a full plate of food including the bread etc. Also indulge in the Dal soup, it is chick pea based and kind of the Indian version of a French Pea soup - without the chunks of smoked ham (lol). If you are a fan of butter chicken, try the SHAHI PANEER. I have also visited the west Island location which is also delicious and does have parking - but it is far to travel and by the time you get there you would have found parking locally... unless you were heading to the west island or in that area. Their local is 4777 Des Sources in Pierrefonds and they have their own website as well.
Great Indian restaurant. Authentic and NO FRILLS. Menu is filled with options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Chana masala, red bean curry, potato curry were all delicious. The samosa was delicious as well. They served us bottled water as waters. CASH ONLY ESTABLISHMENT. they are accommodating to tourists and accepted USD and gave me change in CAD. The service is as good as authentic places can get. No parking lot. Has to park at nearby street. Don’t expect 5 star service, but expect 5 star food with great cheap prices.
W-O-W 😯! The food is amazing!! Authentic Indian cuisine 100% vegetarian dishes - get for vegans as well! Id go back definitely without a doubt For all the food you see on the picture it was a total of 33$ Big plates filled with flavour. The restaurant can definitely be a bit cleaner and well maintained. Parking isn’t easy to find. Staff were very kind and alert to give good service. Note that this is cash only. ATM nearby available.
Food was amazing. A bit spicy for us but still!! We were full when we left and we didn’t pay a fortune. The prices are very reasonable. Samosas are soooooo delicious. The crust is one of the bests. Also pakora is my favorite! The onion bread was also very tasty. You dont need anything else to eat it with. It’s just so good. The staff were very friendly and they offered us free desserts to try. The place is clean and the service is very fast. Thanks for the great food and hospitality!
Daljit and the staff at Pushap offer incredibly savory Indian fare at modest prices. Prepare for an unforgettable feast in the warm, inviting ambience of this hidden gem of a restaurant that you wont forget. Bring your appetite and enjoy. Takeout is also an option and might become a pleasant habit!
We placed a large order for our Christmas party. Every thing was an hour late and cold. Just a piece of advice. If you have to transport food. Open brown paper bags is not an acceptable option.
I adore !
sweet very testy only
Low key, service is prompt and efficient but only friendly if they know you. Quick turn around and at lunch you might share a table with strangers. The bathroom, as well as the whole restaurant, really, are sometimes in need of a bit of cleaning.... But the FOOD. My favorite indian place. Its good and its cheap. Most people order the thali plate... Samosas are very good too. And you can be in anf out in 30 mins. Oh and they have a full indian desert bar....
Very good for the price
Very nice samosa
This is a place for Affordable food options Worked at a place near this restraunt. Ususal orders in my office from this place were Samosas, tea, mango lassi, sweets like gulab jamun, chat papdi, or a lunch meal like lentils with rice. No complaints Food : 4/5
We love their chana bhatura thali! Always served fresh and tasty Service is bit slow provably because it s very crowded most of the time. Prices are extremely reasonable Their mithai/sweets are good and fresh too. Love the barfi
I don t know how the food safety did not shut these guys down!
Poor experience, called in advance to pick up sweets, person locked the door, and said they are closed. It was very odd when I can people being served inside, oh wells happy Diwali,
If you are looking for an Indian restaurant that serves authentic Indian vegetarian dishes, I recommend the Pushap restaurant. The combos are less than $15/person.
Simply delicious!
Never coming back. Rude people.
Delicious food and sweets.... Recommending baingain partha and bathura. Food
My favorite Indian restaurant impeccable service
The cashier is often grumpy or impolite. I love the food though. Excellent.
Best for samosa chaat
Great food, friendly workers, so worth it for the price!!!
It finally happened. What you ask? I tried Pushap after hearing good things about them for years. However, it would be a true test of their service, quality and patience on a long weekend evening. To begin with the counter person was kind in answering a few questions while ordering. Despite servers running to a fro from the kitchen with customer orders navigating through the line growing as the dinner rush steadily amplified. I ended up taking out a Thali tray with lentils (my choice between them and what I was told was the spicier chick pea option). I also opted for the fried Chapati based on another recommendation by the counter person. We also discussed their selection of sweet treats and I got one I d never tried before - which turned out to be a fragrant and textural bite. The wait wasn t too long despite the afore mentioned tumultuous scene of people in the know about good Indian food forming. The platter consisted of cumin rice, a lightly vinegar tasting cabbage salad, slight spicy Matar Paneer with Al dente peas and soft white cheese. The lentils which were more like a soup - but that s not a bad thing. Also a chunk-style potato and green pepper stew which I believe is called aloo shimla mirch which was very satiating and flavourful. The Chapati was nice and stretchy and served as a second spoon for scooping up the curries. The quality, taste and portion was just right for an enjoyable dinner. Another non-edible delight was their prices being very fair - kudos for that! Happily they passed with flying marks and the hype was not just hype. Good work to all the staff.
I have been frequenting this restaurant for over 25 years. The portions and refined taste of the food are always the same and perfect. This restaurant will soon celebrate its 40th anniversary. Vegetarian options: The entire menu is vegetarian.
Vegetarian options: Homely atmosphere, delicious vegetarian food and fast service, at a reasonable price. Cash only. Food
Food is cold please dont go there
We took the trouble to go there for the reputation of their cuisine... Over the years, the service has become mediocre and unpleasant. We arrived 30 minutes before closing and they refused to serve us... we were only offered a takeaway dish (Thali)... Never again!
Always the best Vegetarian options: Interesting variety of delectable products to choose from. Food : 5/5 |
Best affordable and tasty Indian snacks and deserts. The place is cozy but not the best dine in, better to take out.
Love this place! Every time Im in Montreal, I make sure to stop by. Delicious food and very reasonable price!
Bless Pushap! They re decades-long proof that you can serve decent and delicious home style vegetarian food without charging massive markup. Their waitstaff is young and rotates a lot, so if you eat in, so expect the same service you d get eating in at a bakery, and you ll be fine. Terrific staff and food, love you Pushap! Vegetarian options: 100% vegetarian.
I love it!
I ordered samosas, mango lassi, papri chaat, and aloo paratha. The samosas are amazing. The chaat did not come with any toppings or veggies which isn t traditional. I was really disappointed because I was expecting pomegranate or mint or something fresh on top. The mango lassi and aloo paratha are okay but I d try other items on the menu because it s possible I simply ordered items they re not as strong in.
One of the best Indian restaurants in Canada!
IMPORTANT: Cash Only Place Once I did not have cash so I did a UBER Pickup but as we all know prices on the UBER menu are always more than actuals. No place in Montreal can beat their Samosa price! Though some people wrote about bad service in the reviews, but for some unknown reason I was always served very nicely here. I tried many dishes here as I live nearby and I am sure you will find Aloo-Gobhi(Potato- Cauliflower), Baigan Bharta(Egg Plant dish) and Daal Maharani(Lentils) as some of the good menu items here. Food items are less spicy so kids can also enjoy. For dessert you should try the Gajar Ka Halwa(Carrot Dessert) and the Laddu(Flour Dessert) as the best recommendations though all of their desserts and entire Indian Sweets section is just really really good. This place is very busy on weekends so try on weekdays! Vegetarian options: This is a Vegetarian place and some of the menu items are even vegan like Aloo-Gobhi, Baigan Bharta, Daal Maharani etc.
Probably the best Indian restaurant in Montreal. Incredibly cheap amazing food. $10 for a dozen huge samosas.
Ive been a customer along with my sister and my parents for many years now and I have never been disappointed. Service is fast, the price is right, I love the tally there and the deserts are exquisite. Im just in love with this place. Hope it never closes. Parking: Right next to Namur metro, 17 and 92 bus line stops
Absolutely tasteless, super oily, dont accept credit card, only cash or transfer. No good way of greetings.
Excellent food and service with regard to pricing.
Delicious Indian vegetarian food. Cost friendly Food
Wow! What a great discovery! The best cheap eat I have eaten!!! And also the best samosas and pakoras in Montreal. 12 samosas for $10!! 12 Pakoras for $5 Super affordable and the tastes are typically Indian. Fresh and quality food. Definitely worth the detour. The only downside is that parking is not easy.
Really good food and fair prices Vegetarian options: Everything is vegetarian Food : 5/5 |
No one like this.
It s delicious but not the best indian food
This was a very impressive spot! I had a rough time finding parking, but worth the headache for sure! Samosas and Pakoras are Oh! so good and on the very very VERY cheap side! The food is just plain great! Good flavors, rich spice mix and a small amount of heat! Chick Pea Dhal was my favorite by far and the Aloo Gobi was spicy and tasty!!!! The sweets are soo good! Ty for the advice on the chickpeas sweet squares!!!! A great indian experience!
Vegetarian options: Great food Parking: Great food Food : 5/5 |
The food was amazing.. very home like service.. Specially the Chai... Food
Good decent tasty and quality food and available in Montreal at convinient locations Vegetarian options: Good decent vegetarian option and the chilly paneer is good to try. Service offered by Neel was very great so nice guy
Every thing was great. Nice service and very very cheap. Would recomend 100% Vegetarian options: All vegetarian Food : 5/5 |
Great food, really authentic
one of my favorite places. Discovered it because I walk past it almost everyday. DELICIOUS VEGETARIAN INDIAN FOOD. Everyone is super nice, service always A1 and food A1.
Came in a decade ago with the girl i was seeing. Wed also gone to the Ikea, Value Village, and SPCA in the area. Perfect day
Good Vegetarian options: Good options on Veg dishes... Delicious and less price,....... Food : 4/5 |
Total disappointment, Expired quality of sweets , waste of money, health. Got vomit after eating the mixed sweets
I never eat these useless samosas
Best indiam restaurant in montreal. Mild spicy food with authentic taste Quality and quantity are awesome. Price is unbeatable. This is my regular spot from today.
If you love simple and delicious pure vegetarian food. This is the place to go. I don t even know how many time I ve been to this restaurant in the last 5 years. We drive from Ottawa to Montreal sometimes just to have a simple meal at this restaurant. They have a very simple menu which is great. The food is really good. As simple as it can get in a restaurant. It s always fresh. Very simple and with right amount of spices. Their samosas are good too but I really love their thali options. Some people may not find the ambiance that great but I wouldn t complain about it. Finding a parking is a pain in that area though. Vegetarian options: Many options of thali Chole bhature Puri Chapathi Samosas Everything is vegetarian Parking: It is really difficult to find a parking.
Vegetarian options: Not bad Food
I couldnt taste it, they only take cash and there are no banks around.
Bought 25 samosas, but was only giving one bucket of Tambren sauce. Normally every 12 you get one was a little pissed off at that but I guess it was a mistake also bought 36 samosas.
I swing by for the samosas regularly. Incredible value and lots of flavor.
Hidden gem in Montreal
Yummy samosas
Best in town.
Amazing vegetarian Indian restaurant. So good and such great prices. Usually take Saag Paneer, Basmati rice, Naan bread, Samosas & Pekoras. Great service. Highly recommended! Parking: Quite hard to find parking around there but you can get lucky.
Affordable and tasty.
An all vegetarian restaurant. Good Indian food.
Great place to enjoy authentic Indian chat and chai
I go there every time I want south Asian food. My favorite
Always a pleasure to see the owner. He and the staff are always nice and helpful. Love the food there even if the menu is vegetarian, the flavor is amazing.
Best place for Samosa
We went there on Friday at 8:30pm. The cashier told us to yeah sit wherever. When we ordered, the waiter informed that they are only serving thalis now with limited options, which we agreed to. They served us the food at 8:50pm. 5 min later, our waiter came to tell us that they are closing in 5 min. We had just gotten our food and were not informed they were closing at 9pm, as we mentioned to him, but we said we will still rush and assumed we would be given the decency to finish. Afterwards, the cashier and waiter were pacing around back and forth our table to rush us ?? Waiter came back at 9:10 to say are you done... because we really have to go. I am sorry but what kind of rubbish service is this? If you allowed us to dine in knowing the time, have the decency to let us eat in peace. I have never been to a restaurant before where they rush their customers to leave... They mind their business and close up, count registry or clean around. This restaurant must be completely ignorant of basic human decency required to run a restaurant, as TO OUR SHOCK the owner and other workers came out and started to attack us, saying how we are holding up 7 employees, that their business hours are listed on the door and I shouldve checked. We have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years now, and this behaviour was unexpected and uncalled for. They were a group of 7 men bickering against us (2 girls). The fact that an older owner argues with their customer and basically kicks them out after TEN MINUTES of getting their order is unheard of in my book. If you are so worried of being home by 9pm, you should update your business hours to 8:30pm or even 8:00pm as decent restaurants dont kick their customers out at the listed close time. They clearly arent built to be business owners, which explains why their food and service have taken a nosedive since COVID. Their failing business perhaps stresses them, but taking out frustration on customers is inappropriate, as by allowing us to dine in (and knowing your own closing hours), you took responsibility in having us there until we are able to finish our food, but instead - our unfinished plates were taken away and we were asked to pay, leave, and never come again. I will be taking this to the relevant authorities, as I would be cautious in dining around such aggression.
I wish I could give less than 1. The older owner man named Mohan, wow, you were unbelievably rude to us last night, I always respected you with utmost level and I lost all my respect for you last night, you showed your true color, I went to your place with family, friends, colleagues, big groups for over last 2 decades, you only want quantity over quality, cash payment with no receipt, and in return zero customer appreciation !! At 8:30pm, we arrive at your restaurant, no greeting, cashier tells us to sit anywhere we like, doesn t inform us that they must leave the premises for 9:00pm sharp !! Had he informed us, we would simply get ready-made snacks for take-out instead of big thalis for dining in. But no you want to charge for more food of course !! What a sad strategy. At 8:50pm, leftover cold food arrives. At 8:51pm, the chubby cashier (dont know his name) makes us pay right away, so we pay and go back to our table to eat. At 8:55pm your waiter tells us, we must leave the restaurant because they need to close We reply ok can we finish our food, we will eat as fast as we can At 9:00pm, he comes back and says are you girls done? We reply we are hungry and we dont want to leave the food unfinished, we are really doing our fastest At 9:05pm, the chubby cashier comes close to us pretending to close the window and screams to our waiter YOO WE GOTTA LEAVE . At 9:05pm our waiter comes to us immediately AGAIN, and says ok we really have to leave now We tell him ok but nothing is stopping you, we already paid, so close your cash, clean the rest of the other tables in your restaurant except ours that you have not yet and we are leaving as soon as we finish our food as we were still eating. Thats when, Mohan the older older man owner from kitchen comes out and talks to the waiter and cashier, not sure what they whispered behind the cash amongst themselves while staring at us but he gets extremely rude to us, comes to our table, takes our plates away while we were still eating , then other men enter the restaurant, apparently all family/workers and start to attack us (2 girls) with screaming and yelling and shouting. WOW!! We get attacked for not finishing our food within 4 mins ?? We are girls we cant eat fast like you men Mohan !! I go to all types of restaurants from 1 star to 7 star, NEVER have I ever experienced in my entire life such rudeness for nothing !! Then you tell us dont ever come back. Mohan, we will never go to your restaurant. I have heard from multiple people that worked in your restaurent that you have cockroaches in your kitchen always coming in from the mountain sights garage/recycle area, multiple customers find hair in food weekly, workers drop samosas on the floor by accident and you pick up right away and use them for customer s take-out orders. I never really believed all that, but now I do. So no Mohan, I dont need to pay my $$ to get your extreme rude service and your dirty kitchen food. I hope you were drunk last night, because no businessman can talk in human history to customers so rudely the way you did with us last night !!!!!!!
Great Indian food and very good prices
Great food at some of the best prices Ive seen for an Indian restaurant. Value was excellent and I couldnt even finish my $12 meal. Service was very fast and friendly, the owner himself served us and chatted with us. Theres also a great selection of Indian desserts. Very eager to visit again. Just be aware that they only take cash.
I visited this place and had lunch last Saturday. Had ordered samosa, Chana masala, chapatis, Veg pulav, regular lassi and raj-mah, alu sabji as parcel for dinner. First of all I really didnt understand if this place charges taxes coz they only accept cash so I assumed there wont be any taxes however that was not the case. They asked me to pay CA$ 31.90 against the bill of 29.25 CA$ (assuming 1.00 CA$ for water bottle) else as per their menu I had ordered foods worth 28.25 CA$. Now, lets move to my reviews as below 1. Samosas (CA$ 2.00) - biggest disappointment, you cant sell anything by just calling it samosa, it was full of oil and there was no filling like samosa in it so a big no no for me. 2. Chana Masala - very simple test and medium quantity however worth the price of CA$ 4.00 3. Chapatis - CA$ 1.00 so worth it. 4. Veg. Pulav - we cant call it pulav, it was just ordinary rice with some peas and tomatoes and masala in very small quantities however you cant expect anything more at a price of CA$ 4.00 5. Alu Sabji - again very simple boiled alu Sabji in medium quantity so justifies its cost of CA$ 4.75 6. Raj-mah - Couldnt taste it coz I had taken it as a parcel and wanted to have it in my dinner but it got stale so I had to threw it. 7. Regular lassi (Sweet)- looking at the quantity, I feel its worth CA$ 3.00 So overall, Ok Ok kind of experience but I kept feeling heaviness in stomach till late night after having the lunch so not sure Abt the quality of ingredients they use to prepare the food however looking at the crowd I assume all good. Conclusion: As per Indian standards you can call it a Vojnalaya where we get a reasonable food at very reasonable price coz you wont get the feelings of a restaurant food here. Special thanks to guys(Waiters) here for their polite behavior and fast service. PS: The guy with beards at the billing counter tries to pretend like a Britisher with fake accents and behavior makes you feel uncomfortable instead of adding any value to this place.
I have been going here for samosas and sweets for 20 years! I love them!
Excellent!!!!! Better than most restaurants I will definitely be back. Food
I love this place, so friendly, simple and inexpensive. Typical homemade Indian cuisine and really inexpensive. Vegetarian options: Everything is veg. I like the tali, the dish of the day.
The food was very bad only good thing was achar
One of the few pure vegetarian options in Montreal
Very disappointing. We ordered naans (each costing $1.75) hoping that they would be freshly made like at any Indian restaurant. Turns out that they just heat up the naans that you get in a packet at any store and send it across. Such a bad experience when you have guests over and serve them the store brought stuff.
Vegetarian options: The best!!! Recommended dishes
Hii everyone I am posting this review while sitting in the restaurant and to be honest it is my worst experience of food. Like first they forgot our order and then we are calling the employee here who is not listening to us. The quality of food is the worst I think this restaurant is always busy because of their price not for the quality. I just suggest not to come in this restaurant at any cost. I dont even want to give them 1 star. Worst experience ever
The atmosphere was very welcoming and the kind gentleman serving and the one on the counter made the experience for me memorable. :) I read the negative reviews before going there, but found the place the exact opposite. The food was served piping hot with delicious condiments and although the Chai was not what Im used to, it was fragrant and comforting. 4 samosas + Aloo Paratha + Chai for $10. What more could one want in this economy. Definitely worth a visit if youre a desi feeling homesick.
Delicious authentic Indian food with sweets as well. Really liked it. Parking can be tough to locate.
I ve gone here many times over the years and it was always delicious but I don t know if it s because of covid but the quality s gone down the drain ever since. Personally I m not one to write negative reviews but this place did not meet my expectations like the other years. I went there for 10 years but unfortunately I won t be a returning customer. Maybe if you change your quality/standards
One of the best in Montreal. Pure veg options and food is super tasty and prices are unbelievably so low..must visit
Great place! Affordable (considering inflation these days) and delicious!
Best vegeterian restaurant in Montreal
Amazing Indian vegetarian delights. Their curries, dals, aloo Gobi, Channa masala with rice and naan is so flavourful, glorious and delicious. Usually I get some vegetable pakora and samosas to go. All their Indian sweets- deserts are sweet and tasty also. My fave are the coconut dusted gulab Jamun, barfi and Kalakand. A simple establishment. They take cash only. If Indian spices are to your liking you shan t be disappointed.
Simply the best vegetarian restaurant
unbeatable value for money, its my favorite place to order on days when Im feeling lazy
Can you please attend customer calls ??????
Authentic food and prices are unbelievably low. Good family run restaurant!
We went there last time for dinner cause we heard a lot about this restaurant. We arrived there at 8:15 and it was quite busy we were waiting there to dine in. A guy( employee)asked us to take seats if we want to dine in. However as we went to take seats the other guy at cash stoped us and told us theres no more dine in like seriously we were waiting there, one of your employee asked us to sit and place order and the other one is saying we cannot dine in. I mean I was very disappointed by their behavior towards the customers. I have been to another restaurant also and there was only 10 min left before there closing but they still took our order and give us a nice treatment. And here it was the worst behavior of people. That day me and my two friends have to return and go to another restaurant which was quite far and on top of that it was raining. I will never go there again.I was quite looking forward to eat there but not anymore.
everything was delicious - samosas, curries and all!
Great place
Old style. Not properly organized No parking The food is so so and a bit expensive
Fantastic food and great service!
The best vegetarian Indian restaurant in Montreal! Vegetarian options: The menu is entirely vegetarian!
Amazing food! Delicious and fresh The owner coming round to every table to check on guests experience was a nice touch of hospitality. Food
Where else can you find really good 2 pieces of Indian samosa with a tangy chutney that takes you back to Indian food street for $2 in Montreal? I will go there just to have their Samosa, very pocket friendly place but just be aware that it is a Cash only place. We also had Chhola Bhatura and Onion Kulcha, found the chhola bland but at the price point this is an amazing place and must try if you are craving Indian snack Vegetarian options: All vegetarian food
Good food, inexpensive and very tasty. For those who like spicy food. Pleasant and very clean environment.
Very nice! Learn Gujarati. The meal was very enjoyable.
Ordered samosa and Chana Samosa, very bad smell coming from channa. All was garbaged even my kids refused to eat because of smell. Never go again.
Edit: 2024 I asked someone that was flying in to Montreal to please buy and Freeze their Samosas and sauce for their flight home. Lol It was so delicious!!! 2022. I moved from Montreal to Calgary three years ago and the one thing I miss so badly is Pushaps Samosas and Sauce. They have been around for at least 20 years I would think. I have heavily dreams about it and if I have a chance to go back l would buy 100 of them because they are so good. I wish Pushaps would freeze them and ship across Canada they are so good.
This place is really nice with good traditional Indian music with really nice people and home made food. I got the Thali and If was delusions!!! Usually I don t like Indian but this really changed the plate!! Recomendes a lot Vegetarian options: It s vegetarian almost everything!!!
Delicious samosas & chutney :) (12 for 10$) Food
Ive been going there for over 15 years and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent (you have to try the pink desserts or the ones that look like mini hot dogs!) and its the best value for money youll find in Montreal. The service is efficient and always done with a smile. You can either call to order and pick it up or eat on site, I tested both options and its impeccable. Ps: I recommend that you ask for extra rice and buy samosas for easy meals during the week. Kid-friendliness: They make Thalis for children at a ridiculous price and have chairs for them. I went there often with my two babies.
Our favorite restaurant! Any cuisine or culture combined! Its delicious! We both come almost every week! Thanks to the restaurant team! Vegetarian options: Everything is vegetarian
The food was good, home made like, not to spicy. We took combo 1 and 2 and it was really good, it comes with rice and bread, keep in mind that is all vegetarian indian cuisine. I recommend to go and taste it, very affordable prices. Have cash on you though. Must try the desert, we took a mix box for 10$ and it was really good.
Great food
All vegetarian, easy to call before picking up, CASH ONLY Put off reviewing this place because I wanted to keep it as my little secret but after over 2 years, this is the only Indian food l feel confident recommending. Pushap has become my go to comfort food. Its quick, everything youre have is tasty (ill even eat the paneer despite my dairy intolerance if its there because I simply will not stop myself) Vegetarian options: The entire menu is vegetarian Wheelchair accessibility: I say this but theres just no steps
A nice affordable vegetarian Restaurent
This is by far one of the best Indian restaurants in Montreal! The food is tasty, its inexpensive and the service is excellent! And you really have to get some sweets for dessert, they are impressively good Definitely a must go if you find yourself in the Namur area! Food
I visited first time and he is talking with nonsense i dont like to go further and this would be bad experience for my whole life
Best Indian restaurant at a good price
Amazing Indian food at probably best prices. Cash Only. I have tried it many times and it is always satisfying my tummy when I crave authentic Indian food. Vegetarian options: It is entirely vegetarian Kid-friendliness: Accommodate kids Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible
VEG restaurant with good seating. Restaurant accepts only CASH. Prices are very reasonable. Food is good. Tried their samosa and pakora combo 2$ and their thali was very filling at 8.50$. Masala chai was not that great. Gulab jamun was not bad for one piece at a dollar.
A legendary spot. Actually tastes like home cooking! And with a level of warmth that few Indian restaurants in the city can manage without challenging your heat levels. And it seems the prices havent gone up in thirty years, thats also a treat. All in all, perfect. Vegetarian options: Its all pure veg!
I often buy the desserts and thalis there, it s super good, fast service and the owner is helpful and kind I love it!
The most authentic and inexpensive vegetarian Indian restaurant in Montreal! The service and atmosphere can be a little rough around the edges, but the food is delicious.
Superb aloo paratha. Excellent service.
3 stars for vegetable and paneer pakora i tried channe bhature also they were not good.
Tasty, fast service, vegetarian, low priced and EXCELLENT 12 samosas for 10 dollars, its incredible! We ordered several for New Years and absolutely loved it! Cash only, there is an RBC bank ATM not far away ;)

Still cash only? Common. Completely ridiculous. What a clown show. I went and spent $40 at Julep.
Delicious! Heads up: cash only! Vegetarian options: Its a north Indian restaurant. Its vegetarian! Kid-friendliness: No problem. Everyone is welcome!
Best veg Indian restaurant in town! The prices are reasonable.
