Easygoing destination for traditional Italian cuisine, plus cocktails & a wine list.
Finally tried out this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Had an amazing experience! Everything was delicious!! Especially the Gnocchi Funghi e Tartufata 👌🏼 I’ve had gnocchi pasta in the past and they all tasted mushy/doughy. But the gnocchi I had tonight was soft and not tooo firm!! What I would suggest is to try and come earlier since wait time was about 45minutes and I was pretty hungry. Aside that, the service, atmosphere and fooood was 10/10!! Stomach was very happy ☺️
Great place to go if you can get a table. It’s worth waiting for. We all loved everything we ordered. We started with the fried calamari. Crispy and tasty batter. Tender calamari. Nice cocktail sauce. Good size portion. Our mains: Wild boar pasta Spaghetti puttanesca Cod with zucchini risotto Chicken Parmesan with spaghetti Spaghetti with meatballs Spaghetti with just cheese and butter. Everything was delicious. Big portions so we had plenty of leftovers today. The salad and minestrone soup were both good. The service was excellent. Fast without being hurried. Sharp waitress.
I recently visited Bistro Amerigo with my boyfriend, and while I was excited to try it based on all the good things I'd heard, the experience left me with mixed feelings. The restaurant is super small and doesn’t take reservations, so we ended up waiting about 30-45 minutes to be seated. As soon as we sat down, someone came to take our order before we even had a chance to look at the menu. We ordered a glass of wine each, along with the meatballs, octopus, and cavatelli barese pasta (with Italian sausage and broccoli), which came with either a soup or salad as a side. Both entrees and the wine arrived within about two minutes of ordering, which felt a bit rushed. The meatballs were amazing, and the octopus was good, though slightly chewy. The pasta was also delicious and tasted authentic—I even ended up taking the leftovers home. While the food was generally impressive and felt true to its Italian roots, the pace of the service made the meal feel rushed, and it was clear they wanted to turn over tables quickly—we were in and out within 40 minutes. The place itself has a really cool vibe, but the rushed atmosphere kind of took away from the experience for me.
Every time we go there we try a new plate and it’s better than the plate we had the last time. Service is great, owner greets you and is very hospitable. Try the apperol spritz and the lamb. Sooooooo so good.
If you like Italian food, AVOID THIS PLACE!! For an Italian food lover, this place really disappointed me… I had never been at a place where they charge me after I sent back a plate. I ordered the Polpette and Patatine, polpette was okay nothing out of the ordinary, but less points cause they were lukewarm. The palatine looked like the bottom of the fryer. Do not order them unless you want clogged arteries and a visit to your nearest doctor. I sent them back and the guy at the bar never apologized, on the contrary, he was trying to explain that the dish is served that way because that’s the name of the dish. Asked for the bill and they charged them with the excuse that there was nothing wrong with the dish, that I just didn’t like it. The guy at the bar even bother trying to offer something else they simply just wanted to charge me. I don’t know if that guy is the owner or who is he but he is really not polite at all. For such sovereignty that he has, I expected a good dish, not some lukewarm meatballs and burnt up potatoes.
Where do I even start! You think you’re waiting a long time, but the second you get there they give you a complimentary salad, bread, and 5 smiles. A burrata to start, perfect. Now comes the star: the truffle gnocchi and the à la Norma! These 2 dishes paired perfectly together. The gnocchi is PERFECTION but very rich. And the Norma balances it out. These dishes are so good, it felt surreal. And then we ordered dessert, a perfect end to the meal. Tiramisu and pistachio gelato, so light. The real highlight, besides the amazing food and beautiful ambiance, was the service. We felt like part of the family by the end. Everyone there was so welcoming and loving, and they just wanted us fed. Such a warm place to be, we must go back next Thursday!
While the wait can take a bit of time, it was definitely worth it! My friend loves this place and suggested it for us to go dine in. Each primi comes with a side of salad or soup + you get complimentary bread. For the main, I am usually not a big fan of gnocchi but their gnocchi funghi e tartufata was divine; you will love it. I did not enjoy my cocktail - the margarita azzuro, if you are into sweeter drinks, do not order that one.
We had a lovely anniversary dinner my partner and I in the restaurant. Amazing food! The tomato sauce was so bright and fresh while the meatballs were so soft and juicy. The fresh pasta, duck ragu, and wild mushrooms were out of this world! It was definitely my favourite 🍝. The servers were extremely nice and helpful and made the dining experience very enjoyable. Can't wait to comeback for some dessert 💕
Not too impressed with the place. I had Gnocchi with the soup and both were good. My girlfriend had Cavatelli with the salad. Salad was pretty basic and missing dressing so a bit dry. The cavatelli was pretty underwhelming too. I d definitely recommend going for the soup and there might be better pasta dishes to try on the menu than these two. Service was great and quick.
This is one of my favorite hidden gems in town. I dinned in last night for the 3rd time, and now that Ive tried a fair amount of dishes, I can say not a single dish on that menu will be disappointing. Everything is sooo delicious. My favs: the lamb and the clams linguini 10/10
Excellent food and wonderful ambience.
Eat well
Starters, main courses and desserts, everything is delicious! Cook al dente. Hearty and really tasty dishes. On the other hand, long wait, 1h30 to get a table (no reservation possible)
Authentic Italian
Had lunch there for the first time today. Friendly staff, cozy space and excellent food. Compliments to our server, Naria.
I love local businesses no big banner franchise here and dealing with owner you can t go wrong. Very quaint and inviting
We are group of 4, ordered Nero Seppia, Bolognese, Tartufata and Ravioli di Gamberi. Food is so delicious, service is great. Nice neighborhood with parking spaces right outside the restaurant.
Delicious and friendly
As an Italian, I had high hopes for this restaurant, but I was thoroughly disappointed. The pasta was far from al dente and had a strange texture definitely not authentic Italian quality. The flavors were bland and uninspired, making the entire meal a waste of money. If youre looking for genuine Italian cuisine, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere. Unfortunately, this place does not live up to the hype.
I ordered the seppia pasta, and it was a huge disappointment. The texture was all wrong the flavour good but the paste was almost jelly-like and far from what a good pasta should be. The bread was $4 and I was ok with that but they served a 4 pieces of cold bread with olive oil. I came here for the good reviews but I think this place needs to improve their food or maybe it was not a good day for them and I just happened to be there
Not that they need another 5 star review but here goes, Really authentic italian sauce and seasonings. Superb rapini ( green veggie with outstanding nutritional profile) and drop dead delicious cannoli !
Amazing food, friendly and welcoming staff. Gets busy. Try and make a reservation if youre going on busy days. They have a delicious authentic spicy sauce that pairs well with the food. Dont use chiili flakes, ask for the spicy sauce. Lol
A perfect neighborhood restaurant. Cozy on a fall evening. The service is always friendly and decontracte but precise and on point. Small menu but every dish is perfection. Highly recommended
Delicious food, great atmosphere, and even better service!
Small quaint place and full of people. Obviously a well known place in the area as a lot of people seemed to be regulars. Food and service was good. Salads included in your order ! Id go back.
Amazing authentic food
Best Italian food in the city
We had an amazing dining experience, thanks to Nita, who was incredibly helpful and super friendly! For starters, we enjoyed the Polpette di Amerigo and the Mozzarella di Bufala. For our main dishes, we had the Gnocchi Funghi e Tartufata and the Ravioli di Gamberi e Vongole. To finish off, we indulged in two delicious tiramisus for dessert. Everything was homemade and absolutely delicious! I would give six stars if I could !!
lots of wait! the waitress was a sweetheart and the food was in generous portions
Very good restaurant. With good vibes...
Overall and amazing performance experience. Although they do not take reservations and it can be a wait, the food and services make up for it. Portions are amazing and services is phenomenal. Food comes fast and the staff is always checking in to make sure everything is perfect! I would definitely recommend!
Arrogant service. A friend who had visited before confirmed that when you leave negative feedback, they respond aggressively instead of accepting it and taking it into consideration. Very disappointing, we definitely wont be coming back and do not recommend this place
The most relaxing restaurant and the staff is always smiling
Great spot for authentic Italian cuisine
Nice authentic italian restaurant
Always good Italian food at its best desert tiramisu is amazing
We wanted to try out this restaurant for a while now, considering my husband has the same name as the restaurant . The restaurant was very busy .we were advised a half hour wait time for a table after 60 mins .i walked in to ask what the status was on our table I was shocked by the comment I received from the MANAGER of the restaurant . He told me the more I ask , the longer I would wait . I couldn t believe a manager would say such a thing as you would think his patrons would be of his utmost priority .Needless to say we stayed for dinner despite this rude comment, lack of people skills and poor customer service. Food was great but after his arrogance and rudeness we have decided to never return back. Real shame !
Terrible customer service with a rude manager and a waitress that patronizes customers.
If you re looking for an authentic Italian restaurant with quality food and a homey feel, you need to come here. The food is always delicious and the service is quick. Best neighborhood restaurant
Relaxed atmosphere, efficient service and excellent food which is worth the asking price even if a little more expensive than I would have expected.
Authentic place that you can count on for good classic Italian food.
The finest Italian cuisine Ive experienced in Canada so far. Im definitely returning here!
What s not to love? It s like having dinner at your Nonna s house. Authentic food, cozy atmosphere. Winning combo.
The calamaris are very tasty!
Amazing food! The employee was super nice and the place looks really cozy too. I would recommend you come earlier since it s pretty packed.
The pasta was delicious, we ordered bolognese and seafood, both very delicious. And very friendly at the waiter, they even gave my child bread while we waited to take away.
One of the best Italian restaurants in the city. The owner is a wholesome guy. The dishes are exquisite with good portions. Highly recommended!
Man when I tell you steve took care of me from a to z... wow... the chicken parm is great..other pastas very fun... very good red wines... will absolutely be back. Add next time Ill add photos...
Amazing amazing italian food, generous portions, great service! Its a gem in Montreal! They dont take reservations, so there is usually a waiting line :( Food : 5/5
My favourite restaurant in Montreal. My wife and I go back periodically, it s just a fantastic experience every time, from the excellent professional and friendly service, to the actual delicious food they consistently serve. The price is very good too: nowadays it s difficult to find restaurants that serve this level of quality at a reasonable and affordable price. We are always pleased with Amerigo, and that s why we keep coming back.
All the dishes we ordered were very good and the portions are generous. The polpettes and cavatelli barese were our favorites. Great service too :) Place is a bit noisy and dark inside but the deco and products they sell make it cute. Was a bit hot inside too. Happy I tried it.
We were 2 couples. When we arrived terrace tables were available. They didnt offer that and put us inside at a table with high (not the most comfortable) chairs. Service was a bit off. They took our order and then someone else came to take our order! Had to ask for water refill. Their included salad was meh. Main dishes were good. The restaurant has AC, but it was very hot inside. When we asked they said the AC wasnt working. They should have told us that from the start and that would have been a great reason to ask us when we arrived if we wanted terrace seating. By the time they asked if we wanted dessert or coffee, we were so hot we got the bill and went out for a walk.
the evening could have been more pleasant if we had not been asked to leave the table as soon as the bill was paid!!! It was 7:45 pm and they needed the table!!!! We found this attitude very unpleasant!
Hidden gem
Well I previously reviewed this place years ago after being treated very rudely in front of my little girl on her birthday and gave it an excellent rating on bread but on service, not even 1 star. I swore I would never go back and purchase another loaf of bewad although my family loves the bread. We stayed away for years, and then wirh my go ahead my husband started on a rare special occasion buying the bread again. This image is the inage i took after msking my first purchase after over 5 years of never stepping foot inside again. The place was newly renovated and the staff was friendly andprofessional and had a warm disposition about themselves. The bread is still very good and the cookies. I willbe back and contonue to come bavk as long as i and my family have a humane experience no matter if dealing with the owner or the staff.
First time here, excellent authentic italian food. I had the truffle gnocchis that were delicious and their tiramisu was great. Good selection of cocktails, only good things to say about the Limoncello.
Gorgeous big portions of perfect tasting food. The kind of meal that makes you feel giddy before and well after you finish your plate. Service so fast and friendly staff. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a lovely date night Amerigo!
Went there for lunch, had the smallest meat ball starter smothered in a thick SO SO sauce. Also had rapini smothered in a very bitter garlic & Oil, also under cooked I couldnt even chew it. Waitress forgot the first item I ordered, my Beer. Table next to us left and the waitress proceeded to clean the table with a pump cleaning spray solution less than 12 inches from our table filled with food. The whole experience was a 2 x . Sorry Guys, do better!
Everyone here is so incredibly friendly, the service is quick and very professional. It s not often you get a full service meal anymore (bread and salad) so it s refreshing. I typically go for the mushroom gnocchi- it has yet to disappoint. There s nothing like sitting on their terrasse and sipping a cold spritz on a warm summer evening. Great date spot or somewhere to impress the in-laws. Make sure you go put your name down early to get a table though, they re so popular it s often full.
Strong service team with a great space and atmosphere. It has all the ingredients to be incredible. Drinks were really good as well. The kitchen wasn t as strong as the front of house team however. Had the chicken parm and the norma. The norma was better but not more than ok. Started with polpette, potatoes and buffala apps which were better than the mains.
Very helpful waiter. Good food and wine. Nice ambiance.
Hidden gem! Possibly the best Italian food Ive ever had outside of Italy. This small bistro serves uncompromising and incredibly flavorful Italian dishes in a cozy setting. I had the grilled Octopus which was absolutely amazing. Cannot recommend enough!
WONDERFUL, MAGNIFICENT...great experience on all levels! A MUST to try and try again and again. WELL DONE!
At Amerigo, we dont take reservations but we urge you to leave (not to say we throw you out) when you have finished eating even if 1. You are at the bar 2. You have consumed together for 250 $ (before tip). In fact, someone comes directly to ask you to quit the minute they see that you are no longer using. I went to talk to the owner Steve and it was with incredible ease that he told me that we had stayed a long time (!) (we consumed the whole time we were there). Not for a second did he worry about what one of his customers was trying to politely express to him (NEXT! You re done!). Unpleasant conversation with an owner who thinks hes someone else, who speaks to you in English, and whose manners are anything but polite. They are also falsely polite in general. He seems that many are fooled. Let him do two shifts and take reservations if he wants to throw his customers out. In short, from the owner, totally phoney customer service. From the employees, decent customer service (but the French is gibberish). As for the food, its good but nothing more and overrated. The cod was too salty but also and above all it was advertised with a risotto which was not one! A big dish of plain rice. Falsely generous. For an Italian restaurant that claims authenticity, lets say its weak. Especially since the prices lead you to expect something better (food side AND service side). Friendly but noisy atmosphere. We want things to work at Amerigo and the owner knows how to make his business profitable. Moreover, you are served bread with a few drops of olive oil poured on it by the waiters. No way you can dip your bread in oil. It s like everything else. If you are stupid, want to wait to get a seat, to be ejected in English while swallowing your last mouthful of rice (falsely called risotto), this is the right place. Rated very ordinary to me. And definitely overrated on the advertising and social media side.
I discovered this gem of a restaurant just last week. The service and food were top notch and of the highest quality. I asked the chef for his recommendation and it hit the spot. I would give more than five stars if I could. Thank you very much for a great time. Ill see you again soon!
Excellent Italian cuisine in Montreal, a little piece of Italy with a warm welcome
We came for lunch and we re very pleased with the food as authentic Italian. The cost was quite reasonable given the pasta dish also came with soup or salad
Everything was just amazing. 12/10
Such a wonderful family owned restaurant. The food is delicious, service warm and efficient. It has small seating and a very cozy atmosphere, first come first serve. I enjoyed myself so much. I cant remember enjoying a restaurant to that level. Highly recommend.
Had such a wonderful lunch for my birthday here! The lamb and ravioli fish were huge portions and delicious. The service was excellent, our server so friendly and gave us a tiramasu on the house as a birthday dessert!
My favourite Italian restaurant in Montreal!
Celebrated my birthday there. We almost ordered the whole menu. Very friendly waitress and very delicious food. We had great time there!
Really authentic Italian really yummy everything on the menu
I haven t eaten this well in a restaurant in ages! The food, service and ambiance is fantastic! You won t be disappointed. And Naira is an exceptional waitress; we were very well taken care of. Parking: Free parking on side streets or paid parking right in front of the restaurant.
I don t normally go for italian, but boy did I cream my pants after that first bite of ravioli! The tiramisu was heavenly and I was very satisfied :)
Great food and fair prices. Would go back any time !
Awesome family atmosphere and great food.
The food is fine but the service is not good, we felt rushed. As soon as we finished our plates they brought us the bill, took the water, and 10mns later they ask us to leave so that other people take our seats. We ve been sitting down for less than an hour. Is this a fast food or a restaurant?
I was disappointed with the service. The waitress asked us if we were finished while my plate was still not empty. When I asked if it was possible to get the rest of my meal to-go, she immediately questioned whether we wanted one bill or two, which felt quite rushed considering we had only finished eating 5-10 minutes earlier. Shortly after, a server asked us to leave because there were people waiting. This isnt a fast food place.. you expect to not only eat but also to enjoy and chat at such places. One of the servers was quite condescending in her responses. The food was okay, but Ive definitely had better Italian cuisine elsewhere, it feels a bit overrated
Delicious and comforting food! Good value for money. Generous portion. The dishes come with a salad or soup.
I was very impressed with this local resto - delicious food, great value, and excellent service. Truly top notch !
Very warm welcome. The meals are refined.
Taste of Italy
Wonderful atmosphere and service. We were walk-ins and although it was full they got us a table within 15 minutes. Food was excellent. Linguine Vongole amazing. Thanks!
Outstanding grilled octopus.. Ive ordered grilled octopus anywhere its on the menu... the preparation and execution was unlike anything Ive had. Set the bar.. incredible. In photo: Grilled octopus, substituted fregula sarda for the chefs recommendation.. which turned out to be medley of tomatoes and pesto. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
The food is delicious and service is great. One of the best places in Monkland.
neighborhood favourite
The owners piss poor attitude is stronger than the quality of the food. Found him to be extremely rude and I ll never go back.
The service was amazing and the food was delicious. Definitely, a great success finding this delight of a place.
The food was cold and hastefully prepared.
The pasta was cold
Always a good experience at Bistro Amerigo. Feels like home. Food is delicious and so generous. The service is always amazing.
Amazing authentic italian food and really great community. Table atmosphere is fabulous.
Update 2024: I went again today and it was still AMAZING. The service is so attentive, the dishes are cooked and flavoured to perfection and it s all for the right amount of $$. I finally took pictures of our meals today so I m editing my previous review and reminding you all that the place is a must try wish it was closer to my house so I can keep coming and trying every single dish they have. 2023: Oh my God! The food is absolutely fantastic, I have a very picky taste in terms of ingredient quality, and both dishes we got were phenomenal.
Best home made Italian place in MTL! The bolognese is amazing . Definitely order the octopus , it s the cheapest in the city with high quality. The gentleman Mike gave amazing service ! The best tsiramisu !
Amazing food .. the service was impeccable. Our waitress was so amazing, super friendly, explained the menu to us and made fantastic recommendations for us. The cocktails were also amazing. All around, great experience. Will definitely be coming back.
Tried this place for the first time today and I cant wait to go back! Food was amazing and real authentic Italian cuisine. The service was great and the staff was very helpful with the menu. I highly recommend this place for all the pasta lovers.
A quaint Italian Bistro serving delicious food, and a warm friendly atmosphere. Our favourite authentic Italian restaurant in Montreal.
This is an amazing family owned local Italian restaurant. Everything on the menu is beautifully, prepared and delicious. The entire staff is friendly and welcoming and they always make you feel welcome and at home. Kid-friendliness: They re always seems to be a young family with babies or little ones. They are also welcomed and taken care of.
What a great place for a tasty meal. First time I went tonight and wow! The food was delicious! Italian style decor that makes you actually feel like youre in a small resto in rome, and the atmosphere is just very peaceful even when its a full house. I tried the ravioli and it was spectacular. My friend had the special meat platter and it was really filling (dont remember the name of it). Portions are very generous compared to most places with similar menus. They have an outdoor terrace and seating at the bar as well. Will definitely go back to try everything else on the menu. Almost forgot to mention that they had homemade tiramisu that melts in your mouth. Mix that with an espresso and you have a match made in heaven. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to please your taste buds. Like and follow for more honest reviews
We had to wait an hour for a table, which was fine as we knew they didn t take reservations. We were a group of 4. The chicken parm was 10/10, the gnocchi had such an overwhelming truffle taste that it was not enjoyable. One of the other pasta dishes we ordered was over cooked. Also the bread they serve was really disappointing. The calamari was to die for.
Food was so good!! Loved everything and service was amazing. There may be a wait as restaurant is small and busy!
Excellent! Very good service and the food is delicious.
This is -- by far -- my favorite restaurant in the Monkland Village. And as a person who grew up around Sicilians, I am very picky on Italian cuisine.
What a delightful Italian restaurant. Cozy , charming atmosphere. Our waiter Robert had us laughing all night long. I would definitely recommend this fine establishment!! Reminded me of Florence. Will be making a return visit soon.
It was a great experience. Food was worth the wait.
Try this restaurant quickly and without delay. The staff are very nice and really care about their customers. The soup was very tasty. I liked my order, it was very tasty and fresh. Ive never tried pasta with seafood before, but it was great.
Excellent, high quality food, super friendly staff, very reasonably priced, we simply loved it. Family run business, the place you want to go back to again and again. , it was delicious Food : 5/5
Absolutely amazing experience!! From the moment we walked in the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming! They helped us navigate the extensive menu to chose the perfect dish based on what we were in the mood for. We went for the meatballs and fritto misto to start followed by the cavatelli and enormous chicken parm. Food was mind blowing and so comforting! Fresh and flavourful. Everyone was so sweet and we cannot wait to come back! Thanks so much team for the great night!
So amazing staff is amazing wow! Gnocci and tiramisu are delicious!
Great service & great food! Their truffle gnocchi plate is the best I ve ever had. Wonderful experience and will definitely be back! Also, very toddler friendly, they were super accommodating. Food
Good food and service
I have no idea why i never discovered this place before. Amazing food!!!
One of the best Italian places in the city. Great vibe. Passed by after dinner, But still had Tried the meatballs Polpette and fried calamari The ambiance is really nice, liked the lighting warm lights. We sat at the bar Super friendly staff Will definitely come back to try more items on the menu
Best place in town when it comes to authentic italian food . From the staff to the whole food experience !!! Definitely a most for food lovers
I found my new favorite restaurant for pasta. Solid 4 stars, here are the minor things that need improvement. - i was very disapointed with the bread. They serve the same bread from premiere moisson that you can buy at Costco, and they don t even bother to heat it up. Coming to a restaurant where they make fresh pasta, I would expect better bread. - the little salad with the mozzarella was bland and lacked salt. I dont know if its meant to be served that way or the cook just forgot to put salt on it but it had no taste. - the guy behind the bar who served us never offered us some parmesan with our main dishes, never asked us if our food was good. If he would ve done this it would ve been a 5 star for the service because other than these 2 points, he was very polite and service was fast. Little suggestion, a chili oil for people who like their food spicy would be a great condiment to have for people who would like to have some. I would ve added some chili oil on the spaghetti that comes with the chicken parm! I hope the owner of the restaurant reads my review and can agree with me. I rarely write reviews, but I felt I wanted to share these points because I really can see this restaurant becoming my favorite italian restaurant in the city. I really wish them a lot of success. The gnoccis were to die for. The chicken parm was perfect. What can I say about the tiramisu? 10/10 just wow! I will definitely be back as I want to taste almost all the dishes on the menu! Just please give me some good and warm homemade bread with my pasta!
My favorite restaurant in Montreal. Chef Alex Di Prima is the absolute best there is. Atmosphere is awesome, service is great and the food is to die for. The best Italian food you will ever have.
Great food & service
Simply the best Italian restaurant. Very authentic
Actually my favourite pasta place. Incredible gnocchi, cozy atmosphere and comforting ljttle sides (warm bread, minestrone, salad).
My favorite Italian restaurant in Montreal. The food is delicious and the dishes are very generous. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity. The service is impeccable, the servers are very warm and attentive. The place is very cosy and the terrace is pleasant in summer. The only negative point is that there isnt much room and the bistro is very popular so you sometimes have to wait to get a seat (but its worth it).
Great food service could be better we had to seek out waiters whenever we needed something. But the food and atmosphere is worth it!
There are a lot of Italians and Italian restaurants in Montreal. This is the one you need to visit. Sorprendente!
Excellent food and very good service. The place doesnt take reservations although the food is absolutely worth the wait. Thank you!!
We enjoyed a very nice family meal, seated outdoors on a beautiful evening, with wonderful hot fresh delicious food, and very attentive service. Wonderful place!
So delicious and always great service at Bistro Amerigo.
Great dinner for the departure of a great work colleague. Great service and all the dishes are excellent. 10/10
Amazing
It is one of the best places Ive been for Italian food experience. Feels like i was back on vacation in Italy . Excellent food, clean, nice staff, good atmosphere...grazie
Always consistently delicious.
Excellent Italian food, large portions, very nice friendly service. We were very well received. Thank you so much!
Delicious food and friendly people
We ate here 2 nights in one week, and the food is great, amazing staff.
Great Italian food! So authentic and delicious. Portions are generous and tasty. I went Friday night and it was packed, they don t take reservations unfortunately. We waited like 1h30 for a table but it was worth it. I really hope they expand soon, the place is way too small. Overall great experience!
Lovely little place with a great atmosphere. We were lucky to get a table. Portions were large.
Montreal Best Italian food !
Among the best Italians I have eaten. The wait is long but its worth it I would say. Plus with the little salad they give as a starter .
Delicious food and excellent service. Will definitely be back
Amazing fresh pasta, great salads, nice wine options. A perfect casual ambience with food that feels very special. Exceptional Italian!
5/5 experience. The food was amazing. The service was top. Very cozy space and will DEFINITELY repeat. We had calamari, gnocchi & ravioli and each of them were just amazing.
Good italian food in NDG!
Amazing, delicious, fantastic service 10/10 definitely coming back. Best ossobuco Ive ever had
A+
I really wanted to love this place. The ambience and decor are really nice and cozy. The service was really friendly and knowledgeable. Ultimately though, the food was only ok. We ordered the fried seafood platter and, while I enjoyed the calamari and shrimp, I thought the mussels and fish were not tasty at all. The flavors were too strong and it felt like I was eating old fish. As a main, I ordered the tiger shrimp ravioli and my partner ordered the pasta vongole. They were decent pasta dishes, but nothing extraordinary. & The two dishes and appetizer set us back about $130 after tax and tip, which I felt was a huge amount. Overall, Id recommend trying it at least once. Im glad I tried it but I dont think Ill be coming back. The search for a great affordable pasta place is
The best of everything here! Employees, food, owners, everything!
Beautiful restaurant ambience with soft music and an intimate setting. After one visit, this is my favroite Italian restaurant. It blew away expectations. My friends and I shared around 8 dishes and every single one of them was fantastic. I dont think you can go wrong with the menu. Service is exceptional. You are treated like family and they make sure you are taken care of. Couldnt ask for more.
Excellent service, very good food, an excellent spot in NDG! Parking: easy
excellent food, service friendly,price Reasonable
Amazing and must try
Great service, really good food and nice atmosphere!
Must try the truffle gnocchis. Rich in flavor and came in reasonable quantity. Got there at 7 and had to wait over an hour so fight for your place early Food
Enjoyed a delicious dinner with friends
Delicious Authentic Italian food.
A little pricier than other restaurants but the food is good. The first time I went, the waitress recommended the Seafood linguini with squid ink sauce. It was delicious. My second time there I had the special of the day which was rigatoni in tomato sauce with meatballs, ribs, and italian sausage. It was ok, nothing great but not bad. I am looking forward to going back and trying out some other a la carte dishes.
Although the food was very good, our dining experience could have been much better. Our waiter was rude from the get go. He was demeaning when explaining the daily special and his attitude didnt change throughout the service. Menu is limited and not inexpensive but plates are large and food is plentiful and good. The restaurant itself is quite small so if you are not there early, you will wait for a table. In the end, after we paid, we were requested to leave to make room for new customers.
This place was bustling on a Wednesday night. The service was quick and the food was amazing! We ordered calamari as starter, the parpadelle and the cavatelli. The mains comes with bread and soup or salad. The minestrone was very hardy and flavorful. My favourite dish was the cavatelli as the balance of the sausage and the bitterness of the brocollini made the dish balanced. The portions were generous and was left feeling very full. Would def come again when craving Italian food.
Heard outstanding things, and it was a solid pretty good . - The gnocchi was good - pillowy and fluffy with a pretty flavourful sauce. - The cavatelli was not so good. It was veryyy salty and the broccoli was strangely bitter. - The meatballs were exactly what you would expect - honestly, the free bread was a highlight because they use greatttt olive oil The service was really good and attentive. The bill for 1 appetizer and 2 pastas was $75, pretty reasonable. Good place for a date or chill dinner with friends. We went at 8pm and Thursday and there was no wait for 2 people.
Parking suck, but worth it!
Delicious Italian spot with amazing food. We got the calamari which was very tasty and the batter wasn t overwhelming. The Gnocchi with the truffle pesto and mushrooms was delicious and the shrimp Ravioli with the squash sauce was sooo tasty and comforting. We would go again and try out other items. We were full so didn t try any desserts but definitely next time.
Bistro Amerigo is as close to your nonna s house that you ll get in Montreal. From the food to the service it is all top tier. The prices are beyond reasonable for the quality and love each dish comes out of the kitchen with. We are regulars and love it every time !!
Small typical Italian restaurant in the Monkland district. You have to try everything on the menu. The fish, pasta, starters and finally the desserts are all top quality. Lets not forget the wonderful family service.
Excellent Italian cuisine. Get there early & expect to wait. Well be going back soon. Food
Very good and varied food. Courteous and professional service. High prices. Too small for its popularity. We were seated near the door on stools. We felt pressure to eat and leave quickly by the customers waiting inside the restaurant.
Best food experience ever! So friendly and generous. A must try!!
