Walked by this restaurant on a trip to get a poutine. Went inside to make reservations and boy was I glad I did. Could not have been a better dining experience. Staff , food and drink all top notch.

We ordered oysters - good , overpriced and you don t need to cook it, so can t really messed it up. Seafood risotto - really bad especially for 50 usd, lack of flavour at all, not creamy rather watery and it is supposed to have shrimp and clams but only have few pieces of lobster. Drinks wise by glass very limited. Tables very small and very close to each other.

Ate there on Nov 2, 2024 for my girlfriend s birthday. The ambiance was so boring. Had to tell the waiter put some Italian music on, as I couldn t hear it. Which he did. The decor for a high-end resto, was also boring. I looked at boring whitish wall papered walls all evening. Ordered the burrata which was good as entree. We both ordered the pasta, mine (lamb pasta at $39) was salty and lacked flavours, no wow factor what so ever. Hers was better, veal rague pasta at $39 too. Service was good, but waiter forgot to bring us bread. Cheapest wine was 75$ a bottle, which was decent tasting. I told them it was my girlfriend s birthday (when making reservations and when I got there), I heard crickets while others had happy birthday sung to them. Not even a complimentary desserts for her, after dropping $240. Overpriced and really not worth it. Never again.

Artful presentation and melodious flavor combinations. Well appointed table settings with attentive staff. A wonderful dining experience. The burrata was creamy and the Alaskan raviolis were scrumptious.

We were very disappointed with the service. The waiter who managed the tables, when we asked him for a dish or a cocktail with a little special addition, kept saying no because it wasnt that good. It is a shame that they are not interested in the requests of their customers. Finally, when we paid the bills (since we were a large group), my friend paid her bill and when the waiter gave her the interac machine, he gave her the option to choose the percentage or amount of tip. While for us, as it was a higher bill, he didnt even give the option of tipping choice, he directly added more than 17%, we said the for which he said as excuse that the percentage is added automatically which is not true and it is absolutely not correct! Very disappointed with this place!!! I dont recommend it

OK so having Italian roots I don t normally go to Italian places because I m always disappointed in the food and I always think homemade is better but this place is out of this world! Is it pricey?Quite a bit , yes but the vibe is immaculate. The overall charm of this place is Simply splendid the owner of the place is super nice and Carlo has my heart, always gives me the best service ever. The food itself is simply amazing. The lamb chops are juicy, and the grilled octopus is simply to die for, I tried many of their dish , and they are all simply amazing, especially their lobster risotto and the ragu di agnello! Overall 20/ 10

Truly a terrible place and a greedy owner. I had a group of 40 ready to come here. Booked weeks in advance. We paid a $4,000 deposit. We show up, not ONLY is the place not ready for us... But when we show up and try and leave somewhere else the owner himself refused to refund us. NO TABLE + he said he is keeping the deposit since there is no refunds... Almost too insane to be true. I should have asked around before booking our party here, nobody else in our local group was surprised. STAY AWAY!

The disappointment was palpable from the starter, with a portion of shrimp a la da Vinci, in an ordinary cocktail sauce... The lobster and saffron pasta lacked flavor and generosity, while the seafood pasta , the lobster appeared to have undergone a microwave treatment making it overcooked. For a renowned establishment, the dining experience fell well short of expectations. Even at a reduced price, it would have been difficult to be impressed by this performance. The impeccable service is a positive point, but when it comes to tempting our taste buds, the dining experience really leaves something to be desired. It is unfortunate that even exceptional service cannot compensate for the shortcomings in the quality of the dishes. Although the main courses disappointed, its reassuring to know that the desserts were a highlight of the dining experience.

Have had the pleasure of dining at Da Vinci s in an intimate, small group & large group settings. All were fun, felt well taken care of and great suggestions on food & wine were appreciated. The owners Vince and Lavi are not only great people, they make you feel welcomed are very appreciative of the business. Highly recommend when in Montreal!

I have to say I wanted to try this place for a longtime. I have to say I was quite disappointed from arrival to departure From Valet service upon arrival not present The menu is ok but very pricey for what you get. I feel this restaurant has got stuck in the early 2000 s and hasn t evolved Plan for 100$+ / head and a 30$ Valet To top it all off had to wait for the valet employee to finish praying to get our car .

Food is decent. I wouldn t say wow or bad, it s decent but not worth the price in my opinion. Service is okay, often forgot what we asked for and billing was huge errors. Atmosphere is nice.

The prices were pretty high for the quality of the food. The squid wasn t cooked properly, and spending $300 for two appetizers and two main courses without any wine seemed a bit much.

This is a amazing place with great ambiance which makes me go back again again . I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in a heart beat who is looking to enjoy great food . Not only the quality of the food , the hospitality is above and beyond. I give this restaurant a 5 start rating all the way!!!

Great Italian food at its finest quality

We were a group of four ladies who went to Montreal from Sherbrooke for a concert. Since the concert was an Italian opera singer and it was one of my friends birthdays we decided to have Italian! This restaurant was perfect!! The staff were all SO nice! Our waiter was able to answer all of our questions and made recommendations that were delicious!! They were very accommodating for our group and the food was DELICIOUS!!!! I only give it 5 stars because I can t give it 10! Parking: We parked next to the Bell center and were able to walk there within 10 minutes. Very easy walk especially after we ate all of that delicious food! There is some parking in front of the restaurant but it can be limited.

The highlight of our evening was the exquisite Asso Baku dish, reminiscent of my favorite Italian meal enjoyed in Quebec City. Was able to snag a booking for New Years Eve at this restaurant. Located in a beautiful part of Montreal. Service was perfect and so was the meal. I had the rack of lamb and my friend had the salmon. Both plates were pretty much licked clean. Also recommend the tiramisu for dessert.

Was about to book for my moms birthday but it seems the restaurant is requiring vaccine passports. Discrimination, especially after we know vaccination doesnt stop any transmission, is simply ignorant.

It was great with the foods, wines and services. In the end, there is a little confusion with the bills that are overcharged by mistakes, and they are fixed. However, Well come back.

We were a party of twelve (12), the service was impeccable and the food was fabulous. They have tasting options for groups, allowing you to sample bite-size portions of their appetizers, or you can order from their home-made pasta ( we sampled their homemade snow crab ravioli, between the appetizers and the main course.

The accompanying risotto were cooked to perfection and provided a nice contrast to the richness of the Ossobuco. But the excellence of my meal didnt stop there. The appetizers were also delicious, and the desserts were a perfect ending to a wonderful meal. And throughout the entire experience, the attention to detail and presentation of the food was top-notch. Overall, I cant recommend Da Vinci enough. The outstanding service, the incredible food, and the attention to detail from start to finish make it a truly exceptional restaurant. Reservation made for 6:30 p.m. Very nice place amazing service, nice atmosphere with nice music at the beginning. I chose the ossobucos for dinner which was excellent, the only reason why I gave 4 stars is that from 8 p.m. the music was no longer as graceful and, was made too loud and festive, less interesting for a romantic outing, too bad because it was a good start But I still recommend this place.

Excellent restaurant, super friendly staff

We had a great diner before our show at the Bell Center, ideally located a few minutes away from the venu. They are highly experienced at receiving guests which go to the game or shows so youll always be on time. The service was very nice, our server Carlo was fantastic, proficient and very friendly a true professional! We started with the wedge cesar salad beautifully presented on a sharing plate. The tomahawk steak was more than enough to feed 4, it was perfectly cooked served with a great wine reduction sauce. The rapinis were served with small pepper and we enjoyed a side dish or potato pave style. Espresso corretto was perfectly done and we made our show just in time !

Food was amazing. Service was impeccable . Stomach was full. I will return no question. Formidable!

Great wait staff, and the bartender (an absolutely stunning woman) mixes up an amazing drink! The food was spectacular, and the ambiance was great too! Dietary restrictions: We had a member of our group with Celiac (unablebto process gluten), and they were very accommodating..both with the food menu, and the drinks.

Over Priced!!! Very noisy. Lots of emphasis on their site for a dress code that is not respected. I was expecting an upscale Italian restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. Very good food but due to the price I expected more. Wine $54 SAQ they sell it for $155 3x the price. The employees dont speak much French, I ordered a green tea and they brought me a cup of hot water filled with mint leaves. I didnt feel the atmosphere of an Italian restaurant. However, the decor is magnificent. For the same price, I would have had a Michelin-starred restaurant! A bit disappointing.

Came here on a Saturday night after another reservation fell through no regrets at all! Service is wonderful from the moment you step in till you leave. Great selection of wine. Great ambiance we saw people bring their children and they accommodated well but it might not be the greatest place to bring them along (maybe for lunch is more optimal). For appetizers we got the buratta which was alright, unfortunately did not get the chance to explore more as we weren t too hungry but they have a really diverse selection of appetizers. As for the mains please do yourself a favour and get the mushroom risotto, the fish or the steak. All buttery, melt-in-your-mouth goodness.

We had reservations for a Friday night and we arrived 15 minutes early and were seated immediately. Our waiter was phenomenal! I had a tough time deciding between two dishes and he split them in 2 so I could try both. Besides the amazing service, the food was amazing! We had the burrata appetizer which was incredibly smooth. The mushroom ravioli was hands down the favorite dish which was quickly eaten. The lamb cavatelli dish was also delicious but it couldnt compete with the richness of the truffle and mushroom. I highly recommend Da Vinci!

Incredible atmosphere! The foo. was amazing and lived up to the reputation. I came here with my girlfriend and we were really impressed. It s unfortunate that our service experience was so underwhelming. The waiting staff was extremely friendly, professional and welcoming, however after the initial introduction we were basically forgotten about. After our staters we waited an hour for our main course to arrive and never checked in with by staff. The tables around us received their food long before us despite the fact that they ordered after us. I ordered a gin and tonic which was probably the best I ve ever had. I was never asked if I wanted another one after I finished. Once we got our main course we were never asked how the food was which is disappointing. We were offered a desert menu and the waiter didn t return for about 15 minutes. We didn t end up getting a dessert just because we were tired of waiting. Honestly, it wasn t that busy that it should have taken that long. For the price point of the meal, that shouldn t have happened. Overall everything was great minus our service experience which for me is a make or break deal. It felt disrespectful that others around us seemed to get preferential treatment.

Arrived in Montreal late evening, it was the only restaurant that was open. And luckily for me. I got to sit at the bar and have a delicious charcuterie board and salad. A delicious piece of lamb included on the board. Define cuts of dried meats and olives in cheeses.. I was so full. I took the salad home and it was delicious the next day for lunch. The staff is very professional, especially the girl bartender behind the bar. She made me feel very welcomed. Highly recommend.

Made reservations for dinner about 6-7hrs ahead of time that day. Husband and I found this resto on Google maps. Wednesday night on September 13 at 815PM was our reservation time. Came in and immediately greeted and seated. After a day filled with eating and meeting amazing servers at various restaurants we decided to forgo appetizers and drinks and just split an entree and dessert since we were so stuffed. My main complaint is that the servers were not friendly at all with us. There were two servers coming to our table and moving around us, one of them would worldlessly set food (some sort of small complimentary appetizer with tomato and olives and bread with vinegar and olive oil) in front of us, barely looking at us while he did it. We didn t order it, so you would think he d explain what was in front of us, but he didn t explain what it was at all. Not sure if he could speak English or not but like I said he barely looked at us and didn t even smile even though I smiled and tried to make eye contact and even tried speaking a bit of French like we ve been doing to the delight of other servers during our vacation here. Didn t ask us if we had questions about the menu at all. And then the other server came maybe 2-3 times during our 1.5hrs there, barely spoke and yet I saw him checking on the other tables next to us repeatedly without their prompting/calling for him. I assume he was supposed to be our main server but again not sure bc the two servers barely gave us a second thought. Our food came, the Osso Bucco and no one ever came to ask if we liked the meal or to check on us (it was delicious thankfully).Part of the money spent at places like this is supposed to include great service as part of the experience, and I could see if they were understaffed but like I said, the tables around us got excellent service, the kind of service I m used to experiencing no matter where I go. One of our servers was a darker slim gentleman and the other was a white balding older gentleman, didn t even get their names because they didn t bother to introduce themselves. Didn t even get dessert like I wanted bc the service was so offputting and I did want dessert bc I asked at the beginning of the night and got told that I had to wait, and even though we sat with a clean plate no one came for 10 min meanwhile the table next to us got offered dessert with no prompting.

Amazing food, beautiful restaurant interior and honestly some of the most amazing and friendly service by our waiter, friend and comedian for the night Lavi. If not only for the great food, we would come back just for the warm and welcoming service we were given. Definitely would recommend

I m very hard to please when it comes to restaurants and I m pleased to say that I have nothing negative to say about this place. Charming elegant decor, top-tier service and amazing menu selections. A true Montreal gem!

Excellent food! Seafood was great. Service was as per what u expect in an Italian restaurant. Generally attentive. Just horrible rude waiter at the end who demanded more than 15% of service charge and when he found that we had not given to his satisfaction, insisted on a specified amount and a top up by cash. Tried to shame us as foreigners not knowing the local culture. Totally distasteful experience. Worst I have ever seen. So much for a first meal in Montreal. The food was okay. But the waiters attitude was not good. He insisted that we pay him more service fees. When we see that the amount given to him is not ideal, we ask him to give more. Very rude. dishonest. They also lied to us and said that we must pay more than 15 Baxian service fee. It s better not to go, everyone. The food is delicious, the food is delicious, and the food is dishonest and disrespectful. 15% of the specified amount of money is subject to change. .

Im really mixed. See disappointed. A restaurant that looks good on the surface but in fact, in my opinion, it doesnt fulfill the contract. The food is not up to the asking price. When you see Rothschild sheep for $300 on the menu, you expect top-of-the-line quality food to accompany it. They try but cant... Hiring 2 over-qualified French people for service and an Italian for entry will unfortunately not be enough... I would give 2.5 to encourage but there are still efforts to be made or a more reasonable price.

My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary on October 7. It was absolutely out of this world!. The service first of all, was excellent!. From the moment we walked in till we left, they pampered us. We ordered the salmon dish. It was absolutely delicious, I would have ate the plate if I could!. The staff constantly checked in on us to see if we were enjoying our meal, very friendly staff. The ambiance is absolutely beautiful as well. I m so happy we came here, would definitely recommend to others.

Yet another disappointing dining experience in downtown Montreal. I am giving 3 stars for atmosphere, as the restaurant does have a fairly stylish/upscale look to it, but thats where my compliments end. Food: EXTREMELY overpriced. All pasta dishes were $40+, and there was a significant markup for things like sparkling water ($12/bottle for San Pellegrino). I ordered a tomato gnocchi - a fairly basic staple - and it tasted like what you would get at the grocery store prepared food section (at best). Mushroom risotto was flavourless and burnt. I can say the bread was good, but rest assured it was store-bought. Service: Inattentive, clumsy, impatient, and unhelpful servers who seemed to have little interest in their customers or skill at their job. One of them stared right down at the machine as we were paying, which is an unfortunate and uncomfortable thing to do. If you want good Italian food, go elsewhere.

Second time going there last night. The food and the service are second to none. My problem is with the level and type of music played. This is a restaurant, not a nightclub... why do we have to have incredibly loud, nightclub music playing? It honestly ruins the whole experience. You cant hear the other person speaking- at all. PLEASE... play some dinner music, any kind... but not the thumping club beats. Its not a club.

Had the most incredible meal and service on our recent visit here! An absolutely beautiful meal, accompanied by 5* service. They really took care of us and made us feel at home. Eating out with a 6yr old is not always that easy, but will definitely come back again soon. Started off the meal with a cocktail and starter platter of various Appetizers. All were fantastic but the lambchops and shrimp were outstanding. Followed by some pastas, gnocchi and branzino cooked to perfection. Dont skip the tiramisu for dessert, some of the best Ive ever had. My son opted for the lemon granita and loved it. Cant wait to visit again!

Delicious food, great drinks but what really stood out to me was the incredible service.

Very good raviolis, but Tuna tartare and beef carpaccio were packed together with main, separating by a carton board. Warm and unsafe. Avoid cold orders on takeout.

Went on the same night as the Sebastian Maniscalco show, very busy. The staff was clearly overwhelmed but kept smiling and doing their best to keep the clients happy. Tried the burrata entree, very tasty. The gnocchi were delicious but I couldnt really taste the riccota.

Good food and a great service. The multiple servers were attentive and considerate. The only thing I d change is the volume of the music. The electric/dance music was something we weren t expecting.

If you want an amazing meal. Superb service and quality care this is a place to visit. The food was top quality some of the best I have had. My old fashion was out of this world, I went out of my way to compliment the bartender. A must go a must taste a must experience.

Very disappointed by the welcome and unprofessionalism of the Da Vinci team. Disorganized service, much too fast, and the feeling that we are wanted out as quickly as possible: collection of unfinished plates, collection of cutlery without offering a new dish, thrown with disdain of the receipt on the table at the end of the meal. Servers obviously have a preference for a certain class of client. Ultimately, when I voice my displeasure, I receive a blank look of compassion, no apology or question about my experience. First and last time. I absolutely do not recommend, and if I could I would not give any stars.

Gourmet restaurant! Impeccable service, worthy of a 5 star. The dishes are incredible, the taste incredible. Nothing negative to say, a little gem.

Excellent establishment! Fresh food, exceptional service and attention to detail. Had the salmon tartar to start and it was exceptional, as well as the tuna. My guest and I shared the crab legs and they were out of this world. For the main course I went with the steak and couldn t be more pleased. They have a great menu to choose from, our host/server was LaVie, he s so informative and guided us to make all the perfect choices. Thanks LaVie. A true gem in the heart of Montréal.

The worst Italian restaurant considering their price range. Set aside their service quality, their food was also really terrible. Sure, there are a lot of restaurants that are worse in terms of taste, but their price is twice more expensive than any other terrible restaurants with a similar level of quality. 1. Their ragù sauce lacks layers of meat flavor, or any meat flavor at all. Tomato dominates the taste and veal was there merely to be chewed. 2. Their seafood pasta has several preparation issues, which is unacceptable for their price range. The lobster has its GILLS, and there were a small STONE (~0.5cm) in the scallops. Other than preparation, the sauce barely has any depth in seafood taste. Its just seafood, NOTHING like started with clams, and seamlessly passed its baton to scallops, and finished with lobster flavor. Even though these are terrible enough, if these were only problems they had, I wouldnt leave this review. Their service was also quite... well actually, seriously unsatisfactory. Our server literally frawned his face when we said we wouldnt order wine. After that, he didnt even come back until he brought us our bill, and only the hostess asked us whether the food tasted ok. Also, there was even no cloth napkin at my seat. There are a lot more to say, but I believe this is an enough warning. NEVER GO THIS RESTAURANT.

Worst experience I ve ever had in my life! I wish I could turn back the hand of time and not make a reservation. This is a place where guests receive different treatment base on how they look like! Spent more than a hour waiting on the starter and in the meantime seeing other table that came after us getting served and asked if everything is fine. Never happening again! Thank you for wasting my time.

Wonderful dinner here. The service was top notch and every part of the meal was delicious.

I went with my boyfriend to celebrate my new job and it was quite the culinary experience! We got an appetizer of fresh bruschetta, salami and Parmesan. The tomato tasted so fresh probably the best bruschetta I ever had! We then ordered the beef carpaccio and Tuna tartare. The beef carpaccio was well seasoned and you had a good quantity of it. My boyfriends tartare was smooth and tasted fresh. For the main course we got the linguinie frute de la mare. Normally I dont expect a big quantity of food from fancy restaurant but it was quite the plate ! My boyfriend said it had the best scallops he ever had. We had for drinks a Negroni and Mojitos which were equally delightful. The only thing that was kind of underwhelming was the cheesecake. The crust was too crumbly and thick for my taste. Service was amazing I definitely recommend this place for a fancy night out.

The food was good and everyone was nice. I arrived alone, and even though the restaurant was empty, I was seated between a table of 6 guys on a night on the town (much discussion about which strip club to go to after dinner) and a very young couple on a date. I didnt want to listen to either conversation. Im not sure if they were punishing me for the audacity of showing up without a partner, or if they thought Id be lonely by myself at a quieter table, but I spent the whole time at the restaurant wishing I could leave. I have travelled all over the world, often having to dine alone, and I can say I have never felt more uncomfortable as a solo diner in a restaurant in my life. Total bill close to $100 for a modest meal for one person with pleasant, but average, service. Nothing exceptional. I wont be back.

Went there for an official dinner. It is a authentic Italian cuisine dine in restaurant. A must to have experience, being a vegetarian was not sure what to eat and staff took care of everything. They explained each dishes before serving and provided their view what to try and not.

Best Italian restaurant in town! I have been a loyal customer for 7 years now, I don t go there as often as I would like! But every time great experience the owner is so nice! And Carlos, who is a server at this establishment, is without a doubt one of the kindest, most efficient, courteous and pleasant humans! Always a good recommendation for wine! So I strongly advise you to introduce this place to those around you, always an exceptional experience! They were so kind to my mother, my friends and my boyfriend, I never regret introducing this beautiful establishment! Well done to the whole team

went there for a date and it was just magical. the antipasti seafood was to die for best crab in the city and the cavatelli pasta was incredible as close to Romes classy restaurants as it should be the staff were so friendly and professional left a nice tip as thank you i think i wont forget this night for a long time

Food quality was overall excellent. very nice atmosphere. Very welcoming. Some notes below as experienced duting my visit. We were group of 6 people. During my reservation, i mentionned that it was a wedding anniversary, the person told me that we will have a small cake. Aftet i came , nothing happened and nothing mentionned. The food order came after 50 minutes from the appetizer. Some of the orders came wrong, they brought different size of fillet mignon. The fillet was very nice but one of the orders was not well as we requested ( medium well). It came well done. The person whom brought the plates was not happy with me when i told him that the order is not correct ( he said, no, this is the order). So i had to accept it as is. The second wrong order, they brought extra orange juice without making the order. The third order, we requested a soft drink with no ice ( repeated 2 times), and it came with ice . The price is definitly very high.

My evening at Da Vinci Ristorante was splendid. My family and I were delighted by the cuisine, the ambiance and the service. Our meals were prepared and cooked perfectly. The lamb was outstanding. The service was the best we ever had. I will come back and I sure do recommend Da Vinci Ristorante.

Price of crab sold at twice that indicated on the menu, its shameful. Really felt like I was being tricked. Furthermore, the valet didnt speak a word of French... in Quebec. We wont go back there again.

The food presentation and plating is exceptional. From seafood towers, to fresh pastas, fine quality land and sea dishes, everything is always high quality and amazing. The ambiance of the restaurant is inviting and welcoming. Beyond anything else the service is absolutely exceptional! If you are fortunate enough to have Lavi as your host and serve you for the evening you will have a night, meal and wine to remember for ages.I highly recommend for special events or just a sensational dinner, and night out! Honestly, amazing service! We had a fantastic server. This is a high end restaurant and very bougie. Over priced for not amazing pasta is my only real issue. The food was nothing special, but you payin!

Its a Montreal staple. Stood the test of time because of its great food and impeccable service. We were a large party and they went over and above to accommodate us given that our uncle had a walker. Again the food and wine selection were fantastic and were treated like family. Would be a pleasure to come back here.

Its an upscale Italian restaurant with excellent food and exceptional friendly services that make you feel like home. My wife and I were here for the first time for my birthday and it was a fantastic experience. Should be a 10 rating, absolutely incredible experience at this restaurant. My husband and I couldn t believe the service, from the minute we phoned and spoke to Lucy to our arrival and exit. Carlos and the other server s went above and beyond making us comfortable, their attention to detail, recommendations and wine pairings were like we have never experienced before. The food is another experience in itself, homemade is an understatement, actually there are no words, you just have to experience it for yourself. If this restaurant doesn t have a Michelin star it should have multiple. You must try their oysters, so fresh, the sauce that comes with it is just another story to this fantastic experience. Our new favourite and we will travel from Kingston soon to be Wowed again.

Excellent Italian restaurant with a fresh, creative menu, fantastic service and a beautiful dining room. Accommodating for dietary restrictions. Our group had pasta, seafood, a veggie dish and meat, and everything was so good. Fresh oysters in season also phenomenal. Great dessert and wine list.

Everything in this restaurant screams authentic Italian food! From the pulpo, fresh burrata, gnocchi and filet mignon. Excellent food and of course the service is quite exceptional! Will be back for sure! Mangiamo!

We got a few certificates for this restaurant as a wedding anniversary gift. We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent food and service. The dishes were tasteful and tenderly cooked. The grilled octopus was amazing! All the staff were super nice and friendly which is a rare thing in most upscale restaurant. For sure we will be back for our next special occasion diner.
