This place is very very expensive for the quantity of food you receive. For 4 dishes (2 appetizers and 2 main course) and 2 drinks I had to spend about 260$ and still left hungry. The food was decent (nothing great about it) and the waitress always kept trying to upsell the items to us. For a risotto that costs 52$ and no meat in it, it’s ridiculous. I had mentioned during reservation that the occasion is a birthday. They didn’t even serve a small desert for the bday as they do in other restaurants and we were asked to pay for the desert. While the presentation was good, food was 6/10 and prices were 1/10 we had to still pass by an Indian place to grab a biryani as we were very hungry even after spending 260$. Not being racist but that’s not the quantity any Asian or middle eastern or African person would eat. From the waitress telling us that the quantity of risotto is a lot for one person. I can guarantee that a child can finish that in 5mins. Looks are deceiving as the plate the risotto was served on looked deep enough only to find out that the whole bottom of the plate is just ceramic and the risotto is just a little bit. I ordered the grilled salmon as that’s the only item on the menu that I eat. I went to Yama looking at the website menu which had a lot of options. Only to find out at the restaurant they only serve beef and seafood. As I’m Hindu I don’t eat beef and I’m allergic to shellfish, I only can eat fish like salmon or tuna. Nothing great about the salmon. All the hype the waitress did was just show. To anyone reading this review, this place is not for all. If you are interested in wasting your money for food that tastes 6/10, and you want to leave the place hungry at the end, this is your place. If you want to fill your stomach, any other restaurant like Indian or Chinese will do the job with food that tastes 9/10 or even 10/10 with the price being 1/5th the price u spend at this crazy restaurant. Although I asked the waitress about group booking just to show that I liked the place, I was just mocking you I will never ever return to this place.
We went here twice, as I had a spend credit through the Hilton Honors program on my Amex Platinum card. Good: we had the Omakase sushi and the lemon dessert. Both were absolutely fantastic. The fish was fresh and melt in your mouth. The lemon dessert thing was recommended from the waitress who was very sweet and gave great service. Bad: this is very expensive, I wouldn’t spend money here unless I had free spend through my credit card. The breakfast was about as good as a shopping mall cafeteria. The berries on the side of my eggs Benedict had white mold growing on them.
The eggs benedict (with salmon) was delicious and couldn't resist ordering more the succeeding mornings. However, their big breakfast was mediocre as the sausage wasn't the best. I would've given the food 5 stars if they also gave more fruits, as their portions were embarrassingly small with a slice of kiwi, a few raisins cut in half and half a strawberry. The service is top notch and deserves praise.
Awful breakfast. Food arrived cold and congealed. The fruit was mush and eggs were oily and tasteless. For eggs Benedict, it’s a main breakfast item, so we surprised when they were so awful. They also sent jam but no bread. No salt and no seasoning on the dish at all. The smoothie and the juice were warm, not fresh at all. Ingredients were clearly not made to order. For such a nice hotel, service and food is disappointing. We waited over an hour for the food to arrive. Very disappointed for the value of the hotel. If you are in Montreal, go somewhere better than this.
We went for breakfast as a credit was included in our stay at Vogue. While the breakfast was good (the French toast specifically was delicious), we personally wouldn’t have chosen it if it wasn’t included. There was what appeared to be 1 person serving multiple tables. Took quite some time to be acknowledged once sitting down. The restaurant was supposed to be closed at 11, and many tables were still seated close to than without having gotten their food yet, and some without even having ordered. Prices are kind of expensive for breakfast. And the restaurant was HOT! Felt like no AC.
While the Vogue Hotel didn't quite meet expectations, Yama restaurant inside the hotel was a remarkable exception and deserved a separate rating for the exceptional foods it delivered. The dining experience at Yama was exquisite, offering a fusion of Asian dishes elevated by Western ingredients that preserved their traditional core tastes. The menu was a thoughtful blend of classic and contemporary, with each dish showcasing a harmonious balance of flavors. The chefs at Yama have a knack for integrating Western elements into Asian cuisine without overshadowing the original flavors. This results in dishes that are both familiar and excitingly new. What stood out was not just the quality of the food but also the presentation, which was artful and inviting. The ambiance of the restaurant complemented the dining experience, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made the meal even more enjoyable.
We are currently staying in The Vogue Hotel. We are thoroughly pleased to have a wonderful place for breakfast within the hotel to start our day off. Everyone in our party left full and more than pleased with their menu options. Highly recommend for a breakfast spot!
My dinner companions and I very much enjoyed our meal here. It was our first time, and we found the service and quality of the meals to be above the norm. We sampled the Ground Wagyu / Caviar and Tuna Tataki appetizers, which were both outstanding. For our main course, we had the Clam Risotto and the Chicken Brick, which were just as good as the wonderful appetizers. For dessert, my companion had the Caramel Hazelnut Chocolate Brownie, which was a hit.v Glowing praise for a very satisfying meal all around. No complaints whatsoever.

I was disappointed on a Saturday evening when ordering the grilled salmon dish, because when asking for a piece of bread, I was informed that I had to pay extra... Shameful to hear it, because its the first time Ive seen this behavior stingy in all the restaurants Ive been to. I canceled the order and went elsewhere on principle, because this place is unprofessional, thirsty and does not comply with restaurant rules.

If you have to go to the Yama restaurant, ask for Coco as a server, he was very attentive! Wonderful service. We had a pleasant time.

The sushis worth of 400$ with taxes were very not worth it. The inside was very hard to eat and everything was very overpriced for just basic regular sushi s. Not recommending that place for anyone. The restaurant was also empty while all the others were full. So no ambiance at all also
Ordered breakfast. Waited for 20 minutes without any attempt at interaction from a waiter. Had to flag someone down, only to discover that there had been a mistake and my order was never submitted. Didn t have time to wait, so I didn t get breakfast.
Wow! Big thanks to Basian, Kenta and Han! The hospitality and level of service here is top notch! The sushi was incredible! We really enjoyed the salmon tacos,sashimi, rolls,everything was perfect! The chocolate and chai dessert was outstanding! Wow! Han the chef hand delivered our Toro roll and was so kind. Thank you everyone for making our time in montreal so amazing!
What a treat. It is difficult to say what was better the service and team or the food. From beginning to end we were served well from Karel and of course our host Momo. We felt like kings and queens. I will be referring my network here most definitely. Thank you. The beef tartare and mushroom truffle risotto are superb!

The atmosphere at this place is nice, but the prices are far too high for what you get. The portion sizes are disappointingly small, especially considering the food is pretty basic. It doesnt feel worth the cost.
Stopped in here for a drink and some appetizers to kill some time since it was raining a bit. Decor is beautiful, if it wasnt for the occasional asian furnishings, wouldnt have thought it was a Japanese fusion restaurant. Food and drinks were nice but nothing to rave about. Service was nice, our server was wonderful and she was very charming. I was a little annoyed that one of the staff was actively listening in on our conversation and interjecting his comments. Maybe he was trying to be personable but come on man, dont butt in on a conversation youre not invited into, especially when youre supposed to be working. Overall, very nice place. Would have liked to try dinner there, but we had reservations at another venue.

Only tried once because the hotel gave credits for breakfast but not again eve though we stayed four nights. Good interior of the restaurant but the service and food are thumb down. Took forever to get everything done: get the seat, order, or get the food. If we don t call the waiter no one would come to ask. Pricey and small portion. They forgot our pastry but I don t even bother to ask since don t want to waste the time. The restaurant sits within the hotel need so much improvement!!

(if bringing food to room is service then it should be already counted in $8 room service fee.) $69 food ended up being charged for $110

Good food, friendly service, a little slow but thats what it takes to prepare quality dishes fresh. The dessert is especially memorable, maybe worth a separate trip just to try their dessert menu.
Staying at the Vogue Hotel, we decided to try Yama. Since its F1 week, the entire menu is going to change soon, so there was no octopus, entire sushi menu, or tasting menu. We werent told this until after we sat down and ordered drinks, but the staff seemed nice, so we decided to try some other dishes. Bad decision! We ordered three dishes, wagyu beef, duck, and the kimichi burrata, thinking wed head to another restaurant after since there werent many options left. Guess how long we had to wait? 50 minutes! We asked about our order three times and were told 5 minutes, 2 minutes, all lies! My kids were too hungry to wait and started eating apples they grabbed from the Vogue Hotel concierge. They also mixed my unfinished sparkling water with tap water. Unbelievable! Food Average fusion. No restaurant food worth a 50mins wait. Oh, walked 5 mins later and finally had a nice happy meal from a Korean bbq place. Period.

Honestly you can get better food at any other restaurant. The manager was rude. The wait time for the food is outrageous. I would rather waste my money at a McDonalds. I really have no idea how they are still open.

Reservation ____ 04/27/2024 at 8:15 p.m. I would like to share my complete satisfaction following my recent experience at the restaurant. Having had the opportunity to frequent many establishments in the past, I can say without reservation that this one is truly second to none. Its excellence and perfection seduced me to the point that I received praise from those close to me after this experience. I plan to return regularly, because once you taste perfection, you are literally addicted. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the quality of service, even from a server on our first day. He was so professional and knowledgeable that we would never have guessed it was his first day. His mastery of service was remarkable. We were warmly welcomed and advised in the choice of our dishes, with particular attention paid to food allergies. Our reservation for 11 people for a birthday party was handled efficiently, the table was ready well before the agreed time, and we were greeted with a smile. The atmosphere was pleasant and friendly, and the menu offered a wide selection of quality dishes. The manager and staff were exceptional, responding clearly to our requests and ensuring the veracity of their information. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone wishing to celebrate a special event or simply have a pleasant gastronomic moment. It is much more than just a restaurant, it is an experience not to be missed, deserving much more than 5 stars .
The foods usually decent, and last time the service was awesome. But tonight sucked big time. We waited forever 30 minutes for just two drinks, and to top it off, the French waitress was a complete jerk. Totally ruined our night.
They made a mistake in our reservation and once there we felt no interest on their part to improve the disappointing experience.
Staying at the Vogue Hotel was recommended to me after the Four Seasons across the street was fully booked. The hotel is beautiful and so is restaurant. My wife and I were excited to try Yama because park is one of our favourite places to eat in the city. The service was so slow empty drinks all night. The sushi platter took over 30 minutes and was very good to look at but the fish lacked quality we would expect from our experiences at Park. The octopus was good but the time in which it took to get our dishes was so long it made the evening almost laughable. The meal took so long for a simple dish in an empty restaurant and then we had to wait over 20 minutes to pay our bill with only 1 other table occupied. We ordered a pizza to our room and enjoyed it more than our 300+ meal. We are staying at the vogue for 4 nights and will not be back to Yama.

Yama restaurant is located at the Vogue Hotel downtown Montreal. It s has a beautiful large marble stone bar in the centre and the interior design is breathtaking. This is a perfect spot to have drinks and enjoy the Fashion & Beauty experience.
Yama that was not it ! Very disappointed! Went for a diner, the place was mostly empty and they still made a mistake on my order, the chicken burger was average at best, bun was dry to the point I had to eat with a fork and a knife. The Kimchi fries did not taste like Kimchi but way more closer to a gochugaru spicy powder. Would not recommend, the butcher paper for holding the fries was also not very chic for that type of establishement ! Very expansive for what it was
Very nice restaurant, the service was excellent. We went there on Saturday for brunch. I ordered the salmon benedict which was excellent. The very friendly waitress as well as the hostess Maysan who made us very welcome.

Had the contential breakfast with my husband who is a diamond member and also a hilton team member. The croissantt was cold not even room temperature. We had only one fruit plate betweeb the two us while single customers had the same fruit plate. Had to ask the waiter for side plates like come on fancy restaurant and we have to ask for things! Even the conficture jams butter also just to assemble this breakfast of a fruit plate and some croissants that where baked day ahead and served straight from the fridge.

Not recommended and here s a few reasons why: 1: you need to do a serious effort for the staff to recognize you and take ur order 2: order took forever to arrive 3: super pricey for all the bad reasons ( very small portions and lacking in taste or flavor) 4: unprofessional staff We got 2 drinks and one desert: the truffle Mille-feuille which was literally the size of a coin and tasted like burned chocolate and 1/4 ice cream scoop that even lacked taste and truffle vanilla milk that tasted like regular sweetened milk! It felt like milk&cereal, for what we payed it s ridiculous and out of this world! 61$ for 2 drinks and this tasteless desert which is ultra miniature is crazy! Lastly, the ambience is not cool too and I felt bored just after 10 mins of being there! Definitely not coming back!

We tried smoked salmon benedict, french omelet, bananas eaffle foster and smoothie at the patch restaurant, they were all very delicious, the service was very good and they were very kind.

We had two drinks, OR and Bloody Cesar. Overall bill came at 52.00 CAD + tip, which was quite pricy for 2 drinks only. It s got a fancy vibe, the bartender was friendly. However, it did not justify the price!
The place looks good love the vibes. Food wasn t impressive. We had the korean benedict the meat was dry and I think it would be nice if it was a bit more sweet. We also had the granola and continental breakfast. Granola was good but for the price there was not enough of it and continental was good, fruits and viennoiseries.

We have been twice so far, once for the bar food menu and another time for the full menu. Both experiences were great. Food was innovative, and service was really attentive with very knowledgeable staff. The cocktails were really unique, particularly the Wagyu meat cocktail (I think it is called leather under the cocktail menu). (But be careful, it is the most expensive cocktail on the menu). Food wise, I was most taken by the lamb main course. The deserts were pretty serious as well. Glad to have a place this innovative in Montreal!

My husband took me after we heard about the grand opening only a few months ago I absolutely loved the food and overall experience. We live in Ontario and it was worth the trip just to see that Montreal has added yet another world class restaurant to the mix.
I have been to Yama twice and on both occasions, the service was excellent. Everything I tried, from the appetizers to the mains was delicious. I was also impressed to learn that they have a no-waste kitchen policy. It is definitely worth visiting and I will be going back.
Honestly very disappointed for a 4.5* restaurant. Felt like a 1* to be honest, food was way overpriced for the portions we got and got told they were bigger. Food took 1h30 to arrive, drinks took 20minutes each time. Presentation of a 240$ meal was mediocre and look at the oranges(?) they served us like what even is this? Chairs were the most uncomfortable I ve seen. Would never recommend this place.

Yama Resto in Hotel Vogue offers a classy, modern ambiance with excellent service. However, the limited menu choices and underwhelming flavors, especially considering the high prices, left me somewhat disappointed. While the sushi was good, it didnt meet my expectations. I may not return, as there are better dining options out there.
WHAT! I literally am at a loss as to how this restaurant is not thriving and overbooked. The most underrated, lovely, and brilliant restaurant I have been to in so long. Truly unique and chef Park never fails to disappoint. The cocktail menu is the most original concept I ve seen : a texture menu. Surprising yourself with a cocktail based on which texture you like, sorry what? The food is extraordinary, been for both brunch and lunch. Do take the French toast for brunch if you have a sweet tooth. So many subtle flavours that simply bring everything together so harmoniously. So fairly priced for the quality you get, without considering the outstanding service and atmosphere. The interior design and architecture is so peaceful, a much needed atmosphere in the MTL food scene. Every sense is pleased. As much as I want to be selfish and want to gate keep this gem, I am excited already to go back.
Upscale restaurant. High-end food and service worthy of this kind of place. The terrace is very beautiful but the tables on the terrace are pitiful. Aside from this little detail, I encourage people to try the foie gras sushi taco.

Firstly, a big 5 stars goes to the waitress that served us and made the evening unforgetful. She was on top of her game and left nothing to mediocre. Everything she suggested was dead on delicious and really the wow of the resto. From the wine selection, off menu items and down to desert, she was honest and didnt just push for the most expensive items like many others would do. So the Atmosphere here is cozy and modern. Perfect setting for drinks to business meeting to meeting with friends and family. very chic place and lots of room. As for the food, the wow was really our Taradito Toro because it was just Melt in our mouth tuna paired with sweet potato. we also ordered the scallop, octopus, and the rib-eye, also very good. but the star was def the tuna. The off menu Wagyu A5 and tuna Tatar taco was fun and appetizing. def worth trying! very crunchy and melt in your mouth at the same time. The biggest wow here was finally the desert. Im so glad we had desert here. it was just impressive and delicious. if I were to just have desert anywhere in montreal, this would be one of the spots! wow check the picture. Overall, we kept being surprised with details and superior care by our waitress. Mary was her name. When great service is paired with food, its a combo for a magical night. Definitely recommend to come try! Ill be back.

we feel like we had a once in a lifetime experience. We had the Omakase tasting menu and were not sure well ever taste anything quite like this again. Mainly because there isnt a set list of items for this option (omakase means leave to me in Japanese.) and we love the feeling of a basically personalized meal. One dish was so rare the staff took pictures of it . Expertly prepared and decorated (check out that gold leaf) every dish looks and tastes like a work of art. You dont go here to just eat for sustenance, you go to gift yourself an incredible gastronomic experience. Very quick, dedicated and knowledgeable service. The whole staff seems to know every detail about the food they serve. They seem very well trained overall which adds even more to the elevated feel you wont find just anywhere.

A new restaurant in the downtown center. It s Asian fusion style. Come here during lunch time. The 3 course menu is okay. I love the appetizers, the main course maki sushi are just average and lack of creation. Braised beef slices are good. Overall the quantity of food is good for smaller appetites . Nice atmosphere and service. Price is on the high end.

Wonderful food. Lackluster service. The pace of service was terrible. The restaurant was half empty at most and it took 2 hours to complete a meal with one drink, two apps and two mains. The wagyu sando is a must order. Everything else was decent considering the price they re charging. The ambiance is beautiful.
