Best atmosphere to have a chat with your friends and family! The place is cozy and the service is good, they have great coffee and delicious pastries don't forget to try the pistachio croissant! The best!!👌 You can also do your work there but the plugs are limited.

I really want to love this place but I can't quite bring myself to - it's beautiful and all the food looks so good but for me the pastries were overwhelmingly sweet (which if you like this, great!) and the london fog I got was extremely bland. It's a good place to study if you like a noisy area, but I wound't recommend if you prefer quieter places. Wifi is very good.

Loved the food, coffee and experience. The strawberry pain dorée is a must try, very fresh, shakshouka was good too. Variety of options to choose from, Service was fast and waiters were very nice. Many seatings available on Sunday if you go before 10:30 am. Greenery and art all over the place which is also nice. It closes at 4 pm thats only the downside but otherwise I recommend it.

Great pastries and sweets. Amazing espresso drinks. Visited a couple of times as I like the atmosphere of this place. My avocado toast with smoked salmon was ok. I am used to the real avocadoes on the toast and this was a spread and kind of liquid. Overall, a nice place to visit for breakfast or lunch.

Conveniently located downtown Montreal, it is a nice place to visit for breakfast, brunch, lunch or a coffee. Lots of room divided in different areas, so no worries to find a seating. We really enjoyed the « croque mademoiselle » for brunch with a nice latte. We’ll be back to taste for items on the extended menu. Service was ok with the person that brought our plates, he seemed new and obviously lack experience in servicing. This is a self semi self service as you order at the counter and you get the coffee when it is ready while the food is brought to your table. Worth the detour!

WASTE OF MONEY! Everything in their menu is super hyper inflated priced. None of their Viennoiserie warrants the price tag they have. Coffees were mid at best and yet priced at Starbucks++ level. Absolutely underperforming. For the ambiance, tables and chairs might have huge height differences making it difficult to have comfortable seating for longer duration. And oh there were flies flying around and over the food. See the video attached. So overall, it s just pretending to be an upscale cafe that it is not. Everything including customers is pretentious here.

I love this place for coworking. There are so many areas where you could work. During lunch time it gets busy since they serve lunch (which is a plus if you re spending the day there). Best matcha . For the ones having calls, it s not the most quiet place but it works pretty well as a coworking place.

The desserts are decadent and freshly baked. Great coffee, cordial and friendly service. Location, location, location. You will want to return because you saw something really appetizing in the next table. In my next visit Ill order the Shakshuka served in a hot pan! The birthday girl at Amea Of the 31 years that she traveled the Earth, I only knew her during the last ten months, but from that moment when our eyes and our smiles met and lit up on the church pew, a great friend came into my life. Since then, thanks to our gastronomic affinities, each meeting with K. inevitably involves a new culinary adventure that I have fun documenting, parts of our friendship that I engrave on the internet by publishing them in the form of reviews of restaurants... Few are the pleasures that, in my opinion, surpass a meal alongside a person with whom we get along wonderfully, a person whose tender gaze testifies to all their affection towards us. For her birthday, I told her she could choose the destination and I gave her a colorful list ranging from Korean BBQ to tea room, but it was the Amea that made her smile. Established on the first floor of the Maison Alcan heritage building, the café is in an enclosure of unusual majesty. Once past the imposing illuminated pillars, we are struck by the beauty of Silent Flight , a work on aluminum panel by Ola Volo affixed to the wall of an anteroom at the restaurant which hosts events and presentations. Amea is not to be outdone, which has also focused on creating a very special atmosphere to sing our stomachs: romantic shelters, pretty carpets, circular lighting, fake vegetation suspended. It is a mixture of style which remains coherent and attractive which undoubtedly has to do with the influx of people, both tourists and locals, who met there. However, the best selling point undoubtedly remains its amazing menu (of which we tried the lunch version). We, I say, K., R., A. and me. Since there were four of us, I offered my friend a little birthday special: choose the four dishes you most want to try. » She therefore chose the bombolone with gravlax (ingenious combination of sweet bread and smoked salmon), the croquemademoiselle (a favorite, the creamy scrambled eggs were an absolute success), the crespelles limone ricotta (really good pancakes) and a delicious avocado and smoked salmon toast (resolutely omnipresent lately, these toasts). As a bonus, I placed some pastries on the table, classics of the place: a croissant filled with pistachios (yum), a raspberry rock (very rich and tasty, dripping with its fruity scent) and a Supreme with Oreo that I really liked even though my table companions were already too stuffed to enjoy it. At dinner, we were all seated strangely on chairs that were too low: with our backs well supported, only our heads and shoulders emerged above the table. Its not that there was a lack of more normal seating options, its more that this table was in the sun and thats where K., the queen of the day, wanted to be. Note that if you are more of the terrace type, you can enjoy the terrace in the interior courtyard or relax on a table away from the crowds near the main entrance. If youre the type to go to the bathroom a lot, youll be happy to know that weve happily prepared them for you. Finally, the service is courteous and works smoothly. So that the dishes ordered and paid for are brought to us at the counter, we take a small numbered flag that we put in the middle... K. where is the flag? She had removed it and put it aside because she didnt like it there. Well, still, you shouldnt exaggerate! Happy birthday again, K. Vegetarian options: Yes, almost the entire lunch menu is (you can easily have meatless versions of the dishes). Parking: Free on Stanley Street, paying on Sherbrooke Kid-friendliness: Yes... The kids will love it. Wheelchair accessibility: I think so...Im not sure. However, there are no automatic doors.

Cool spot, decent food, some items are quite overpriced but cant expect less nowadays. Barista with pink hair is quite disrespectful. Pretty sure someone new was being trained and as though it looked like this barista in question was about to help and get plates, she came empty handed and just smiled at the newbie. (Even customers knew she needed plates, it was in the context). I was given a buzzer and it was not buzzing at all. I start realizing that its been a while since ive ordered, so I check and the barista looks at me, saying that my number has been buzzing endlessly. Im pretty sure anyone wouldve felt it buzzing being held in hand directly. Sure, my fault for not realizing any sooner, but thats not a problem to me. I wouldve gotten my coffee anyways. The buzzer itself couldve had dead batteries or something but for her to say that its been buzzing forever and shrug off a laugh while keeping her head down is what loses the charm and lowers the image of the place overall.

Cafe is pretty but it is extremely frustrating when you have a specific dietary requirement and they have no leniency. If they can t do what you need for whatever reason, it should be common courtesy to offer a substitute free of charge since the original price would include something you are unable to eat. Not even offering something to appease the situation is very unprofessional. It was disappointing for me.

The dishes and pastries are very good! On the other hand, the prices are a little exaggerated.

August 22, 2024

Over priced for cafeteria style. I have to re think this as you charged more for Americanos now. .With Starbucks opening a new large cafe across the street, you might want to lower your prices. I understand that prices have gone up. But to charge 50 cents more for an Americano is a bit much. Most places have up their prices by 5 to 10 cents. And now you are also changing an additional 50 cents for added milk! Milk that no other coffee cafe charges. I am not talking about steam milk, milk that is poured out of the milk carton. When I questioned this, I was told that Americanos are to be drank without milk! A few months ago you never charged for milk, what changed, oh wait....Greed! So now my wife and I will no longer come daily any more. Its the principal of it all, it is not so much the increase but the greed! taking advantage of customers. $5.00 increase for two coffees for 5 days a week is a bit too much, $20 a month $240 for 1 year. We will use what we save buy making our own coffee and creating our own cafe experience at home. I keep track of my expenses and I can say no other cafe charges extra for adding regular cold milk to any coffee orders. I know of no cow milk shortage or cows going on strike.. One coffee cafe in old Montreal has not increased their cost for an Americano in the past 3 years that I have been recording. The whole coffee beans Bullet Proof brand, is one of the premium brands that I buy from the store at regular retail prices has only gone up in price by about $1.50 for one bag of whole bean 100% Arabica coffee for 340 grams. Lets look at Starbucks Americanos 10z Including milk at no extra cost is $3.85, this includes taxes and you also earn rewards for every order. And Starbucks offers double the points about 7 days in a given month. Its better value to go to Starbucks. You have out priced yourselves from the market. Your small Americanos $4.00, maybe about 3 ounces of coffee, I included the cost your charging for just a bit of milk poured from the milk carton. Starbucks medium Americanos $3.85 for 12 ounce includes milk, earn rewards and a smile AlphaBet Cafe offers a much more superior coffee. Small Americano $3.25 8oz with tax and include as much milk as you like. Value for your money is severely lacking, Amea, you need to re think what your brand value is because reading all your bad reviews and your bla responses tells me you do not understand what your lost customers are saying. We will never return. Good bye.

★★
August 22, 2024

Its very beautiful and large in space. Its worth seeing once and nothing more. The atmosphere is cold and the customer service is minimal, bordering on condescending (which earns it the 2 stars). The coffee is very ordinary and not worth the price. I prefer to encourage small, independent neighborhood cafes. People who go there to work seem not to be welcome. It is a good place for tourists.

August 22, 2024

The only reason Im taking 2 stars off is because the ambiance (combination of decor/open space/cost) made me feel like I was in a diner straight out of The Hunger Games. The gravlax and avo mash sandwich was delicious and kept me very full. However, it was difficult to forget the current socio-economic context, the 55% increase in the use of food banks in Montreal... and let myself be drawn into the design/life style experience. But these are just my personal tastes. The employees of all genders were warm, attentive and also aesthetically beautiful (?) Everything was manicured and Instagram worthy. If thats your kind of thing, the atmosphere is successful. But hey, I come from a region. Wheelchair accessibility: I noticed the adapted toilet room same floor as the dining room, sufficient space to move from the counter to the tables. But I didnt notice if there is a ramp to enter the building, there were 3 or more steps to climb through the entrance on Sherbrooke.

This is a beautiful ambiance with different pastries and brunch options. However, there is no services after receiving foods and if you need an extra plate, utensils, bread or any other side requests you have to turn back to customers line and wait long to talk with cashier. We asked an extra piece of bread and they charged 7$! Unreasonable price for a bread and inconvenient customer service in a sense that needs to back to the line just for such a small request! In the matter of food quality, we ordered Shakshuka and supreme croissant. The Shakshuka was delicious but the breads were super stiff and the croissant taste was average. There is still a way to improvement.

Parking: Parking is on sherbrooke so get ready to search for awhile, you also have the side streets that might yield better results .... might

Everything is visually pleasant! Food, desserts, drinks, lights, decorations, space, interior design, etc. However, overall its a bit overpriced, and the visual effect outweighs the taste.

The food and the place are instagramable. The ambiance is classy and the food is a bit expensive. The mochaccino is rich and has the right amount of sweetness, coffee, and chocolate. We ordered Patate E Pancetta (5 for me), Croissant Supreme (3.5 , Cannoli (4 ), and Formaggiosa (4 ).

Although the address is on Sherbrooke Street, the entrance was via Stanley Street during my visit. The place was full on a Wednesday lunchtime and wasnt slow. I still managed to find a table. The fattouch-inspired salad was good. A little vinegary but you could feel the attention to detail in the cutting of the many vegetables that made it up. The pistachio tartlet was fabulous (and the word is weak). I recommend for a quick lunch downtown.

Found out about this place on tictoc, walking up to the building, youd never think that there was all this amazingness going on in there. Just beautiful!! The bathroom, brilliant. The atmosphere, tranquille. Sorry, but my pizza crust was so hard, its just so the servers could be made aware. Am I going back? most definitely..

April 22, 2024

Just to be clear, the food quality is fine. The main issue here is value. We ordered 2 coffees and 2 plates of avocado toast (1 with salmon 18$ and one without 13$) for just under 50$, which is also fine. However, both plates came with only ONE SMALL toast and nothing else. The vast majority of Montreal places will have TWO toasts per order. As I stated, the food quality is fine, but the value for your money is severely lacking.

Bistro with okay sandwiches, nothing more. It looks so great on Google, I couldnt wait to visit. As a result, I got a cold so-so sandwich for the price of a main meal in a fancy restaurant. The decor is beautiful, and the service is friendly. Food is totally not worth it, but I might come back for a cup of coffee.

Lemon tart was delicious but it was the yellowest lettuce I was ever served at a restaurant. The mini romaine in the Caesar should be replaced with a larger leaf one which for $17, will be more appetizing.

A very nice place to draw, work or just have a good time. The place is magnificent, the drinks and food are delicious. Note for workers, good to know, PCs and tablets must be closed from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., even if you are consuming or eating. I really recommend this place

This used to be my favourite spot to study but today there was a lady at the front door saying that no computers are allowed on the weekend. I used to study there all of the time on the weekends and for this to be how they treat people coming with computers to use as a study space is a joke.

Horrible experience at Amea today. I went in at 1 pm and left at 1:45 pm. The ordering process was lacking and odd. The place was packed, and the line to order was the same regardless of takeout or seat. I ordered their blueberry pancakes and margarita pizza. Pancakes were dense and flavorless without the overly sweet toppings. Margarita pizza was COLD. The service was unbelievable--none at all. The cashier told me my pizza was done in about 7 minutes and they were waiting to pack my pancakes. It was packed shortly after, and they waited 8-10 minutes before handing me my food. My hotel was nearby, so it was a quick walk. When I opened my food, it was cold and unappetizing. I called the cafe, but there was no response. I would not recommend it at all. The service and food were mediocre. Youre better off going elsewhere. Their supreme was soggy. You might as well make the trip to NYC for $10. Ridiculous. My total cost was $53 including tax for my items. A RIP OFF if you ask me.

Food doesn t taste as good as they look at the pictures. Terrible portions for the breakfast plates and for the price. What is more Terrible is the service they call themselves up scale restaurants. Everything is self serve! They give u buzzer when the food is ready you have to go pick up your coffee and pastries. They don t even bring you water at your table. I have never seen such up scale restaurants anywhere. Ambience is somewhat similar to Pigeon Cafe. The washroom is unisex!!!!which is crazy!!!!! The restaurant is dog friendly but not kid friendly. They had unnecessary stuffs going on to make it look fancy with ZERO service! But they don t forget to suggest for 20% tips at payment! Don t recommend

Stumbled upon this hidden café gem in downtown Montreal, and wow, it s a game-changer for business meetings! This place is not your average café it s spacious, flooded with natural light, and has an unbeatable vibe that just fuels your productivity and creativity. Its perfect for escaping the office or those repetitive video calls. They serve up some delicious lunch options too, but here s a pro tip: schedule your meetings before noon. It s quieter then, and you ll easily snag the best spot before the lunch rush kicks in. Trust me, after a productive morning meeting in this energetic atmosphere, youll be ready to dive into their lunch menu. Definitely my new go-to for business meet-ups in Montreal. Its like this café was made for brainstorming and deal-making, all while sipping on great coffee and enjoying the bright, welcoming space. Don t just take my word for it, experience it for yourself!

Indeed one of the worst experiences I had at any cafe. It didn t even get to the point where I could ve eaten anything to have an opinion about it, because I wasn t properly seated. The cafe is certainly a very popular place so it gets very busy, but instead of staff helping you find a table and assigning you a table, which is the CIVIL way of doing it when you have a busy cafe, you have to find a table by yourself!!! A random woman started arguing with me as I was sitting at the table I found, claimed to see (???) the table earlier than me, and made me leave. I didn t think it was proper to make a scene, since this is not the kind of a person I am, so I left without saying anything. The place seemed cute but who cares when you literally have to fight over a table???? From what I heard civil people make a line up but then this cafe? I dont think so.

The location is a bit strange, its inside an office building I think? But the space is beautiful. Really unimpressed! Ordered a coffee and a pastry and sat down to do some work. The second I had finished the pastry and they had cleared the plate the manager approached me and asked me to move as the tables were only for eating customers. I hadnt even finished my coffee yet! Not only that but I was planning on getting some lunch after I did a bit of work. Not how you should be treating paying customers - clearly only care about getting people in and out the door as quickly as possible. Very rude!

The restaurant manager is not friendly. And makes you want to leave rather than stay. I have been a regular at the café since it opened and I come 2/3 times a week. And his attitude no longer makes you want to come.

February 22, 2024

The place is very nice and the foods are good. I had the kale salad and I really recommended it. I am very disappointed about the service; I order a mocktail / cocktail without alcohol (since I am allergic to alcohol). After few sips, I start to not feeling well, became very red and itchy. I went to check with the person at the order to make sure what I order does not have alcohol. She told me is not 100% alcohol free, there is always like 0.5%. I went to ask the bartender about my drink, he told me is make with 2oz of 40% of gin. I told them that I am allergic to alcohol; the manager came to apologize and check on me. In addition, he offered to refunded my bill since is their mistake (I placed the order with the manager and make sure is alcohol free) but he never refunded me. I think they will need to be more careful about the order and the allergic. But beside my reaction, the food and the place are really nice

I strongly advise against coming to Amea Café if you are looking for a quiet place to chat or work on your computer. Despite spending over $50, our experience was far from pleasant. As soon as our plates were empty, the staff practically kicked us out. Its disappointing to see such a lack of hospitality, especially after wanting to support a local coffee shop. The Amea Café does not seem to appreciate the visit of its customers and shows no appreciation for their support. I highly recommend looking for another place that is more welcoming and respectful of its customers.

February 22, 2024

*WARNING SCAM* This cafe is not a cafe, they will ask you to leave despite your drinks. The prices are way too expensive, my $11 slice of pizza was burnt. The service is derisory. The noise is cacophonous, queues and unsmiling employees. We came with our computers and specified that we had them, plot twist we were kicked out in less than 1 hour and $40 purchase.

Pleasant setting, appetizing dishes, fair prices but honestly the concept needs to be revisited, especially on weekends. Too many people, excessive waiting time and inefficient organization in the kitchen. There are three lines to do: a first to enter the restaurant and have a table, a second standing to order your dish and a third still standing to order your drinks. The dishes are delivered to the table. Allow 45 minutes in total if you are lucky and if you understand the concept.
